What is Reddit's opinion of Our Budget Book?

Closet thing I've come to is Our Budget Book. Material design, but still missing a few things that I want. Lots of little annoyances, but have tried ALOT of budgeting apps.

I'm currently trying to set up 'default' categories, i.e. if you go to a place only for groceries, it will know to auto-set the category for that item to be 'groceries' and therefore you need even less input.

Thanks, not a bad app, but I was hoping to find a simple expense tracker app... not a full-fledged budgeting and account management app like this one.

And if I'd actually start to use a real budgeting app, I'd go for "Our Budget Book" (as mentioned above), because it supports sync across multiple users.

I use a simple budget app for Android. My requirements were that:

• It had to be really simple (I don't want anything fancy)
• I can set a budget for the month (I don't want to track bills etc, I do all of that in a spreadsheet, I just want to track how much of my "personal allowance" for the month I have left)
• I can start the month on an offset (I get paid on the 15th, so that is when my month starts)
• It's super-painless and quick to add an item using my phone

I tried playing around with YNAB but I just did not like it, I find it too opinionated about what you can and cannot do, and how you should be saving.

I settled on Our Budget Book. It works great for my requirements; I ended up buying the Pro version. Would recommend if you want to simply track your spending (you can also track spending across multiple categories, although you can just set up one category if you like).

Ik heb even een aantal budget-gerelateerde subreddits afgezocht. YNAB is overal het eerste antwoord; of ze zijn heel goed of het is de Reddit-hivemind aan het werk. Ze zijn in ieder geval duur.

Ik ben geen fan van Amerikaans applicaties omdat ze meer data verzamelen en verhandelen dan Europese (dat geldt ook voor YNAB). Our Budget Book lijkt me in dit opzicht de beste optie, gezien de strenge Duitse wetgeving op het gebied van privacy.
