There are gloves like these, which reduces the calluses to a great extent. Have used them before, but didn't like how it felt. The grip and weight distribution never came properly. It was like all that felt on one part of the palm in one rep and in a different part in the next rep, if I had taken the hands off between the reps. There was no consistency. Without the gloves, the distribution is proper and consistent. That's why the damage is always at the same point. It is said that with enough practice and no gloves, one will naturally change the grip ever so slightly and eventually discover the position where the calluses will be minimal.

I use a Crompton Optimus 65L. 2nd year using it, I'm happy with it. ~11ft*11ft room, cools well, sometimes too well and I have to use an extra blanket. Had to replace the pump this year, that's all. There's some initial foul smell from the honeycomb pads which goes away with time. It has an inlet so you can connect your pipe to it securely and fill it. You can regulate the amount of water being pumped to the pads so it will last longer (I do this and it makes a difference imo, could be wrong though). You can also use the pump to pump out the water via an outlet and a nozzle that is provided, you just need to adjust the knob in the back (it also controls the amount of water pumped which I mentioned earlier, it's essentially a valve).
