Thanks, and yep! I made an account on https://www.flaticon.com/ and set the color of every custom icon I downloaded to the same hex code (some of the icons like Undertale and Overwatch had to be found and edited with other sources though). I then had to convert every icon from .png to .ico on http://icoconvert.com/. Then I went into the properties settings of each shortcut and manually set each of them to their new icon. It was a lot of work, but if you guys wanna have your desktop look like this while skipping the first two steps I don't mind handing over the files I made/used! Then all you have to do is apply the new icon files and/or backgrounds.
EDIT: Here's the link to download the icon files, desktop background, and lock screen. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MiW1vrx_LQRFtaPGJBFyAHAhNWFlRbJX/view?usp=sharing
I don’t know if it’s the streamlined way or something but what I did was: got the icons from this site, downloaded the ones I wanted which came in png format, then I uploaded them to a website here and converted them to the ico format. After that’s done, right click the desktop shortcut you want to change, click properties, choose “change icon” on the first page it brought up (near the middle at the bottom) and then browse for the ico file you made and apply! :)
There is this great website: https://www.flaticon.com/
There are a lot of different icons, most of them are usable for free if you put credits in your app (there are some premiums too but not too many).

As many of you pointed omissions and mistakes in my previous version, I updated it. A lot of borders were missing (for example, Russia-North Korea).
This map is not intended to state the truth. Instead, it is a convenient way for me to learn flags and locations.
As such, some territories have been included so I can learn their flags, and some are missing because I couldn't find an icon for their flags. Moreover, I decided to not include lengthy borders (such as France-Brazil or France-Suriname) for clarity purposes.
By "a clean digital version" I mean that it is esthetically pleasant. It has nothing to do with accuracy.
Please be respectful, it took me a lot of time to put this together. Your suggestions are welcomed, however there is no need to discuss my choices.

if you're deadest on making the art yourself there are lots of free art programs (Krita, gimp, inkscape, etc.) but it's true that if you're planning on marketing your game you're going to want to find someone. :) Oh, there are also lots of sites that have free icons like noun project and flat icon which are great for prototype art!
For photos I tend to use Life of Pix they have a pretty good selection.
Icons I recommend Flaticon they have a good range of free and premium icons in multiple formats.
https://www.flaticon.com/ is a pretty good resource (paid, but have a lot of free ones). Not sure if you'll find exact replicas of the default ones, but it should get you close enough. Only challenge is to find a consistent style, otherwise your notion starts looking like a Christmas tree 😂
It helps, but depends on the requirements of the client. I try create custom-made icons, but usually stick to one I can find on Flaticon. If the client has a big budget, I'd spend some time (or money) creating custom icons that can be shared on social media, presentations, the website, and other brand identity usage.
Just my 2 cents and could be wrong though.
Something like this is really subjective. You have to choose which fight you want to take on in the grander scheme of things. If this is really going to be worth it to throw this "someone" completely under the bus about these icons that you think is terrible (again, its subjective, who knows who shares your opinion), just redesign them with what you think is a great design, and show them to the pertinent parties in your organization.
There are plenty of icon sets online you can use as examples of how it should be done or at least guides that should be followed (simplicity, contrast, flexibility in size) - even sites dedicated to icons. Just expect to be hated later, thought of as not a collaborative thinker, coworker supporter, drama queen/king, sideswiper, lollygagger, lint tickler, dunderhadler, fopdoodle, grumbletonian, etc. especially by the "someone" who developed them originally.
This is of course the extreme opinion of mine.
Good luck!
I think the design is a bit conservative, which might not be too bad considering your target group. It's not responsive and the layout looks 'older'.

Hope the feedback helps you! I might even buy one for my mum :)
https://material.io/icons/ (completely open source) https://thenounproject.com/ (CC 3.0 attribution license or lower usually) https://www.flaticon.com/ (attribution licenses) these are all generally icon resources, but with a little vector editing you can make all sorts of great UI elements with stuff you find on these sites
Flat Design is everywhere these days.
Lots of free design elements available here https://www.flaticon.com
But yes it's hard to have a large and broadly applicable set entirely from free offerings.
[DETAILS]
I’m really sorry to say, but “X means delete” is fucking everywhere. Look at the free icons list, literally half are X:
https://www.flaticon.com/free-icons/delete
I hate these stupid meaningless icons. Always have. Just use text. It is unambiguous.
The actual delete itself should also be harder.
In any case, “X is delete” is definitely not new or unheard of. Literally half of people that design icons make their icon an X of some kind. It’s WAY more prevalent than you’re indicating, especially in web design (but web designers are infuriating).

For the copy button, I recommend using a symbol that is unmistakeable.
https://www.flaticon.com/free-icon/copy_126498 Something like that.
The capital C kinda looks like "clear" to me, like on a calculator.
How about a handshake icon - meaning, it's about making connections and finding the right fit. Something like this:
>1. Where do I put the attribution? On their website it says "Place the attribution on the credits/description page of the application. " Does that mean just at the bottom of my description in the google play store?
I'd put it on your apps "about" page as well as the play store description.
>2. If I edited the icon in any way, do I still attribute the author?
Yes.
>3. I used a few icons from the website (https://www.flaticon.com/home) to combine them/edit them to make it my launcher icon, is that okay to do? Or am I just allowed to use them inside my app as images.
Maybe. Some packs on that website have different licenses. If you did not use icons from this category then I believe this would be covered under 'derivative works'

With most app icons, it's not at all worth reinventing the wheel - there are free libraries with at least 75% of what you'd need. If not, there are websites you like flaticon or the noun project where you can buy icons for a few dollars, and personally speaking spending a few dollars saves me a ton of cost in personal time, despite being relatively good with photoshop/illustrator.
I've been using https://www.flaticon.com. Found there's a limit to how many you can download, but signing up for a free account and I get just about every icon I could want.
Tattoos are body art, and they should be done at an angle that is visible by people looking at your arm, not visible by you looking down at your arm.
https://www.flaticon.com/free-icon/standing-human-body-silhouette_30473
So looking at that clip art, and looking at the way his tattoo is oriented, his tattoo is upside down.
The tattoo artist that did this is to blame for that. A reputable tattooist wouldn’t have done this tattoo at all.
Some of the things that I would change :D :
progress bar is flickering, I would add some transition on the element like - transition: width .3s;
box-shadow on card is to strong in my opinion - I would add more spread and blur to the shadows
arrows on the carousel are really standing out, for icons I suggest you search on https://www.flaticon.com (tons of icons for free *keep in mind that you should credit the author on some icons :))
reduce the height of the header image on a subpage (article), so the header and the title of the article are both visible on screen (makes it much easier for people to navigate on the website)
add more left/right padding to social icons in footer
My humble feedback :)
In my option i dont like the background image in the navigation. I think its also because the same image is used just to the right of it, i guess its a little repetitive.
Also, i saw the changed to the magnify glass. Its much better than before it makes more sense but, i would like you to try this one aswell and see if it looks good: https://www.flaticon.com/free-icon/frame-landscape_71619
Second this. I convinced my team to get away from stock photos and old ass clipart and go with vector images. flaticon has been an absolute gamechanger and, believe it or not, we are yet to run into a scenario where we weren't able to find graphics relevant to our projects.

This icon is very commonly used to represent design, you clearly plagiarized it.
The sun and a polar bear. In my opinion the king of the arctic. Arktikos (the original Greek name, where Arctic is originated from) meaning 'near the bear' or 'northern'. Bear png used:

Can't find the exact sticker. Could be custom.
Most of the icons are from flaticon.com, I inverted the color and made a few changes to some icons. The widget with the gradient background is made with cssgradient.io and the app Color Widgets.

Do you have an example of what you're looking for?
You can make charts look slick in PPT with some decent editing and knowledge, but from my experience if you're going to do something more illustrative/visual, most designers will use vector programs like illustrator to manually create something.
You can do stuff easily like, say for example you're talking about 17 in 100 people do something, you can just get an SVG from www.flaticon.com that represents a person and repeat that person on a slide 100 times, highlighting 17 of them. With some nice use of colour and typography you can take what is a fairly simple stat to look slick and powerful.
hye lemme copy paste from other comments
1- i have 3 icon sites i look to and i search through them randomly and am generally able to find what im looking for but if not ill just type into google and hope for the best
heres the links
https://www.iconfinder.com/search/?q=coffee&price=free
https://icons8.com/icons/set/java
https://www.flaticon.com/
they're probs bookmarked on what i searched last lol anyways enjoy
i put them on the table as page icons btw idk how else you would?
2- it would be easier to empty the page of the personal stuff and share a template lol -
there isn't anything special about this page. just create a tags database to classify what you're watching like marvel movies or shounen animes - i have a category to tag to just in case i forget the chinese historical mean chinese historical drama and stuff bc i'm dumb lmao
then you create a watchlist database and relate them together. all that has is a status (started finished dropped hasn't aired etc) and a type (not eveyrone might need this bc i watch animes kdramas / chinese dramas, movies aND american series so i feel the need to categorize) then a cover property to add the cover (easier than putting it on the page cover or smth)
you can use the insides of the pages on both dbs as notes on things. revşews on what you watched maybe - i use the marvels tag page to keep their upcoming movies list for example
and lastly - the widget is from indify bc i have a seperate calendar on google calendar that only tracks things i watch. its just easier than adding dates to dbs since i already use gc, i don't have to date stuff twice, saves time. also much better for the seasonal anime i'm watching, since sometimes i'm so busy i forget my weeklys lol
ask away for more questions and good luck!
That's not Kivy related, you'll need a designer for that. Not sure if there are subreddits for this type of request. But you probably can get really far, if not completely what you need, with sites like https://www.flaticon.com/ for example.

You're amazing, always helping everybody, sharing your huge knowledge, thank you mate! This /r/FirefoxCSS is a great subreddit thanks to guys like you.
Thank you also for your addons. I'm sure that your last CSS with your addons plus something else, all together in the end might fill my necessities. But this way is going to be too complex for my taste. I'll request help to the community for something simpler. And if it can't be done in a simpler way, then I'll quit my idea.
But if by chance you can help me for the last time, here I have my last CSS simpler idea: In my nav bar, from left to right, window buttons, addon icon, navigation buttons, and then the url bar. Navigation icons are going to be replaced with 3 rectangles (forming a square like this). Back rectangle is going to be on top, stop-reload on middle, and forward on bottom. The 3 rectangles are going to be visible all the time, but opacity will change according to enable and disable status. Is it possible? I can live with the 3 navigation buttons always visible, but I need a sort of more condensed navigation button, a kind of 3 in 1, let's say one square formed with 3 rectangles (vertical or horizontal), or a square in the middle with two semicircles on right and left, or any kind of 3 buttons that can be condensed into the most saving space way. If this idea can be done with CSS then my needs are going to be solved. Please can you give a hand?
To preface this, I want to say that 97% of my experience is in Captivate and the other 3% is my dabbling in Rise. That being said, I totally hear you that Rise courses are quick hits that look professional, but over time they can all start to look the same. Here are a few tricks I came up with that helped me develop a really sharp-looking Rise course recently:
Flip Cards: I both love and hate the flip-card feature in Rise. I love the interaction itself, but the fact you can't really crop the images can make them look awkward. What I've started doing is sourcing flat icons from www.flaticon.com and using them for the front of the flip cards. This allows them to have a clean/consistent look that actually looks professional (instead of trying to crop images to fit the square). You can also edit the colors of the icons to fit your/your client's brand guidelines.
Title Images: I like using the "text on images" for section breaks. One problem, however, is that you can't really change the position of the text on the screen. To solve for this, I crop my images ahead of time so that there's a bit of a blur/negative space where I want the text of the image to sit, meaning that the characters/sharper part of the image is always on the right.
Continue Buttons: Going with my advice from above regarding the title images, one thing I really like to do is put a continue button before every title image. The reason I do this is because Rise will "pull" the screen down so that the exact top of the title image is at the very top of your browser window. This will help the learner experience feel more "fluid".
Hope these tips help!

https://www.flaticon.com/ is good for simple things. I'm passionate about game dev but I suck at art too. However, I suggest you download inkscape and really practice. You can't get better without trying.
Omg, thank you so much!! One question: is it possible tp do this with a pack similar to this one: https://www.flaticon.com/packs/spacial-icons? Only, I can't figure out how to convert it/add it to iconzy!
Hi OP. This is looking seriously amazing. It's sleek, clean and very easy to understand and navigate.
I hope you are open to some minor feedback.
1 - The calendar arrow should go to that position, and the days and weekday names should stretch across the entire box.
2 - Padding for the calendar box should be normalised using the same padding as the left padding of the notification center (or the top padding of the calendar box, they look about the same)
3 - Padding around the image should be the same as the left padding. Text is too close
4 - Icon for clearing all notifications should follow defined UI standards https://www.flaticon.com/free-icon/clear_566041?term=clear&page=1&position=26&page=1&position=26&related_id=566041&origin=search, you can move the duster brush icon to the individual notifications, or make the X white
5 - Same as 3, padding normalisation.
Apart from some minor left and right spacing differences on the volume and brightness slider, the settings box is looking especially good.
The most important aspect of an user interface is spacing consistency, that's what gives the users the impression of quality. The style is your own.
Hope I helped somehow.
Thank you!! I will make more free templates for everyone. The icon is Free downloaded from Flat Icon, this is the link: RETRO WAVE . Check New style: Free-Minimalist dashboard, Hope you like it
Don't misunderstand me please, I trylu think your app is great ;)
About the autoupdater, hopefully you will be able to do it in a near future.

Be careful to make sure you have permission for commercial use (that is if that's your plan)
If you're using the main Reddit app, there's a small button that looks like this, in the top right corner of the screen. Tap that, and tap "Community Info," to pop up the sidebar.
For better grip, I'd check out the Basic Routine. You can use the Rolling Thunder once per week, using the same protocol the 2 hand pinch uses.
Thanks! The captcha menace seems to be less insistent now. I have tested it on https://www.flaticon.com/, where I was previously getting multiple captcha prompts per download. Now, I only get one during login.
Fun fact: the upside down cross is actually a Christian symbol, referred to either as St. Peter’s Cross or the Petrine Cross. When sentenced to death, Peter the Apostle felt he was not worthy of being crucified in the same way as Christ, and so he asked to have the cross inverted.
The Satanic cross is based on the alchemical symbol for sulfur, and looks like this

I created my own snek cursors. It was quite a hassle but it was worth it :). Basically, you just need .cur file(s) for this. You can download ready-made cursor files online (flat icon is a good one). But since I couldn't find any satisfying ones, I just drew my own, save them as png and converted them to .cur online.
From my experience, square images with thick outlines work best. (I can share the png or cur file if you guys want!)
Once you have your .cur file ready, you just need to follow these steps (See under Changing the look of your mouse pointer) to change in the settings. I change the cursors for normal select and link select.
If you'd like to save the settings, save it as a scheme. Note also that in order for the cursor scheme to load after every restart, you need to put the files you choose under the directory of C:\Windows\Cursors. Otherwise, you'd have to manually change the scheme every time you start your computer.

Hi there thank you for your answer and your link, it's very informative. I have some more questions if you don't mind:
a) What in your opinion is the best svg implementation method? inline? object? or what?
b) What how does websites like reddit, twitch, discord, instagram etc... do it? is there a standard/proper way of doing it?
c) We get our svgs from flaticon.com . on the site there is something called svg sprite, is that any good? https://www.flaticon.com/svg-sprites
d) What do you think of icon fonts? I personally thought it's a cheap way of doing it? thoughts?
Cheers mate!
When I was in graduate school I learned about flaticon. They have a bunch of amazing free (and premium) vector icons that can really take your presentation to the next level!

It would probably look better if you used your own artwork and not images from flaticon.com...

Unless, of course, you're Freepik, in which case do what you will with your own art.
https://www.flaticon.com/free-icons/savings
Really? NONE of these represent saving to someone who's never saved a file before? There's no such thing as saving except in the context of computers? Or.... maybe you just hate change?
Given that the icons are from FlatIcon, I'd think their existing attribution guidelines apply. Attribution Guidelines. To find the name of the icon that you use, you can right click on the icon (left side) and click copy image url. Each of the icons have a number/id assigned to them and you can search for it on the main FlatIcon site to find attribution info.
To the people saying it should be inverse... i think they decided against that cause it would look too much like "blackface" lol

Almost exclusively use nice matching icon graphics rather than big clip art, and typically from a singular set.
Apologies if this doesn't fit what you might be interested in!
They're (totally unclickable :( ) icons I got from Flaticon! They have an amazing collection of icons there but there's a limit to downloading if you're not a premium user. You can also choose the black/white outline etc! I just learned this today too hahaha
Copy this and name it autorun.inf and place it into your drive with an icon of your choice and convert it to ico.

You need a wireless adapter if you want to connect wirelessly via wifi at home, in coffee shops, airports, etc. Some motherboards come with a bundled adapter.
You need an ethernet port to connect via an ethernet cable. Nearly all motherboards have this built in.
You need a cellular modem to connect on the road to AT&T, Verizon, cellular data service etc. Very few desktop PC's use this since it's meant for connecting on the road, hiking, etc.
Finally, i have found a great website: https://www.flaticon.com/free-icon/, with this one and a free account it's possible to set the background, the colors, and finally download the result as png nor svg file we want. The final file have 512x512 size, but we can easily edit it with width, height, and opacity CSS rules if we want. Also, if we want, it's possible to convert it to base 64 CSS code with this website: https://base64.guru/converter/encode/css mentioned here: https://www.reddit.com/r/FirefoxCSS/comments/b8hlmu/changing_firefox_icons_to_edge_icons_svg_data_url/.
For the last animation I did, I went with a very simple style for the backgrounds that was inspired by icon graphics. Stuff like this makes for great backgrounds and I think it’s free to use with attribution. There are so many different styles of icon art available for free or cheap, that it’s one of the easiest ways to get something. https://www.flaticon.com/packs/urban-building-27
I’d also suggest Pexels and Unsplash as options. If you’d prefer not to have photo backgrounds, maybe using a cartoon or artistic filter on the photo could help give you a different look.
If you’d like to learn how to make a cartoon background, there’s an interesting class on Skillshare (I believe you get two months of Skillshare for free) called Learn to Draw Cartoon Backgrounds for Animation

I have a few questions on something I'm confused about for attributing an Author's icon I used in my app.
I thought about it, but have not found suitable solution. Just change color of tile looks ugly for me. Maybe, it's better to use some sign... small flag? stick without flag?.. I don't know. Do you have any ideas? I took inspiration from https://www.flaticon.com/search?word=signs

Also, looking for bounce ideas to improve the UI/UX for the menu filter :)

I have, but it's difficult to find illustrations that show a child avatar expressing different facial expressions, gestures, etc. I'll keep looking!
I've looked at Flat Icons and that often has avatars, but only in a single facial expression. It might be enough though and I could manipulate it in PS.

You can get free vector icons from FlatIcon. You just need to credit the artists if you use them and post your map online.
I have a sub to Getty images. I usually use that for inspiration and downloads. But https://www.flaticon.com/ is a great place to start depending on the style you are looking for.
I use Adobe stock for images so can't really help you with that but Flaticon and Material.io are fantastic for free icons
Don't rip the old icon, that's a trashy move. https://www.flaticon.com/ There are more sites like it. Learn to use paint.net/gimp/pinta and do a little tweaking. Use https://resizeappicon.com/ or another similar site.
You're welcome.
Now go out and make GOOD apps.
you are breaking the rules with this masked promotion. I would have appreciated the project more if you were honest and just said something like "hey guys I made a web platform to create adaptive icons; please try it"
anyway, I tried your web platform. it's pretty nice
some bugs: I can't find the search button for artwork, I cannot login with facebook (you haven't set it for production), if I create a new file and click back it restores the state from my previous file
my 2 cents: it would be really good if it would be designed as an app strictly for creating android icons, not as a multi purpose tool. in this sense, I would integrate some flat vector icons (you can find a lot for free here: https://www.flaticon.com; please credit the authors somewhere), I would show the grid from the start, I would make some quick onboarding, some cool export options and then you could also charge money for it
A little disappointed that no one else has commented because they usually have pretty good advice. But I'll give it a shot.
So I think this is an okay start for something that could benefit from lots of development. You have a few interesting color choices, and a font, and that's pretty much all that this whole package is so far. I wouldn't change much of the existing style that you already have, Most of my advice stems from an "Ok this is what you have, now where can we go from here" Kind of place. so here it is.
the simple vector graphics are screenshots from www.flaticon.com if you're interested. This isn't a professional consultation, but I Hope this helps anyway!
