I have tried to reduce my phone use the last month or two. I got inspired by () to delete as many apps as possible, and only have the apps I really need. Yes, Snapchat and instagram are there. Snapchat I don’t use that much so its not an issue for me. I use it for a specific group chat, but I might delete it. Instagram I will delete... soon. Yes, I have a problem. The other apps are:
Vipps: I can see my bank balance and send money to other people. Living in Norway this is the way sending money works
Vy: My train ticket. I commute to school everyday so this makes it so I don’t have to carry a card
Messenger: Mostly for school,
Jobb og Lønn: This is a salary calculator. I input the hours I work and the days and it gives me the after tax payout. I work part time at Ikea and go to school so work minimal but getting paid enough is important for me. I use this app to see if a accept a shift what that means for my end of the month pay.
Storytel: This is an audiobook app. I can stream all the books that are available, for a fixed price each month.
Google maps: I use this over apple maps, because the public transport info is a bit more detailed on google maps
Spotify: I like this because the podcast and music app is one, but I don’t listen to that much music so I’m considering switching to soundcloud, but that means a standalone podcast app.
Instagram: I need to delete this
Snapchat: I don’t use it to much but its makes it easer to send random videos and pics to friends
My go to note taking application is a Bear. Love the UI and have been using it for almost as long as the app has been available (December 2016). Timepage is another app I have been using since launch with it's intuitive UI while remaining simple and I use Timepage Actions in conjunction with the calendar for miscellaneous everyday task so I don't clutter my next app - Things 3. Things 3 is definitely the best task manager on the market due to it's simplicity. I use Things 3 for intensive projects. Castro's triage system is beautiful for subscribing and listening to podcasts. DevonThink is my reference system where I store everything from audio notes to myself created with Drafts 5, tax information and receipts, annotated PDF's the whole shebang. AdGuard and are my adblocker and VPN respectively. Day One is for journaling on the go as it's quickly than analog has metadata and I use this to showcase my life through pictures, locations, videos, and music in conjunction to text. ProtonMail is an encrypted email service, Fiery Feeds is the best RSS feed on the market, 1Password for passwords and Money - Budget & Finance has a 3D Touch function to input my daily transactions on the go to stay within my budget at all time.
I usually change my setups quite often (weekly) but I’m just loving the simplicity of this. My productivity apps are all easily accessible on the home screen and all possible distractions are in folders. I’ve organised the folders from left to right as: Apple, kind of useful, really useful and finance.
As per recommendation from other users I’ve also turned off all non-essential notifications to eliminate any distractions.
Four of the icons (Settings, App Store, Google Maps, and Phone) were from this icon pack: https://www.samuelbeckman.com/shop/pastel-icon-pack
For all the others I just searched on https://icons8.com and downloaded the ones I liked.
Thanks to Erik Eastman on Unsplash for the wallpaper, you can download it here.
I was able to move my app icons anywhere by making ‘invisible’ icons from this site.
I understand everyone’s use case is different for sure but honestly I have everything I need there.
I take a lot of photos and videos but prefer to use Apples editing. Just small touch ups. No need for heavy filters.
I have my watch and activity apps for workouts which also ties in to the health app and I love that a need nothing else from it.
Protonmail is my email, enough said.
Bitwarden for my passwords.
One game that I play a lot of my free time on.
Apollo because I browse reddit a ton.
HomeKit for my lights.
Carrot weather for weather obviously.
Maps and photos....
Safari, which is where I obviously look stuff up and use my bank, their apps suck and logging in from here is easier.
Music, listen to music about 8 hrs a day at work.
Calls and texts....
ProtonVPN for security
Starbucks because I go there way too much.
It’s pretty much everything I use in a day. Out of curiosity, what do you think I “need” to have for apps or am missing that makes you think I am wasting my money on a nice phone? The two main reasons I upgraded were battery life and the cameras which I take full advantage of.
I used to have way too many apps that I never used and it was just a waste of space.
Everything I have is everything I need and I actually am on my phone a lot. My screen on time currently today is sitting at 5 hrs and 43 minutes at the time of typing this so I use my phone a good amount.
I hope I’m not coming off sarcastic or like an ass hole as I figured I would just show you how I use my phone and I am always open to suggestions. Please share if you feel I am missing some must have apps!
Thanks
Edit: Obviously this one is not one of my most popular setups lol but I like it anyway!
I’m desperately trying to get in the mood for summertime so I decided to go heavy on the green and blues.
The top row of apps are mostly to do with my internet browsing: * Settings for configuring apps and managing storage (also bluetooth & wifi) * NordVPN for a VPN * Bitwarden for password management * Safari for browsing
The folders are as follows: 1. Games 2. Finance 3. Audio 4. Video / Media / Entertainment 5. Camera / Video / Photos 6. Productivity / Daily / Tools 7. Food 8. Travel
And lastly my dock is reserved for texting and calling -- The two base functions of the phone, which I think is kinda neat! Anyway, I'm enjoying it! Hope you can take inspiration from this setup or one of my many other posts!

*I*think so, but I would say give it a try. There’s a link floating around that’ll give you 4 months free to start off. I’ll see if I can find it.
Found it: https://www.youneedabudget.com/landing/stack-social/
Note: this is some sort of referral like (though not mine, as mine would only give you 1 month)
Wallpaper: Black Playing Cards on Black Background · Free Stock Photo (pexels.com) thought people might like it.
Also, first time using Widgy or any widgets at all. Did not know all the apps were paid :)
Damn, love your setup OP
Quick question though
If you have ProtonVPN in your utilities folder, why do you have X-VPN on your home screen also?
Proton VPN is pretty awesome on its own, why do you have another one?
Here is the collection of all the iOS wallpapers. They are from the iPad Pro 3rd Gen.
Letterboxd is an app for movie fans. I use it to track the films I watch and to discover new ones.
Shadow is a cloud-computing/cloud-gaming service based in France. I think they recently launched in North America. (They’re at https://shadow.tech)
Wipr is a simple adblocker. I keep it on my iPad Home Screen to refresh its blocking lists regularly.
Feedbin is an RSS service. They have an app which I use to manage my RSS subscriptions, but I use the Reeder app (in my dock) to read them.
I always use spotlight search so it’s merely for aesthetic purposes. I got used to the location of all the apps, so when I don’t use search, they are easy to get to.
About mastodon: https://www.codesections.com/blog/mastodon-elevator-pitch/
It’s a short little read about it. The official site is https://joinmastodon.org
I love the concept and as it’s small, the instances I’m on are great communities.
Okay sorry for the late reply, but here you go:

I only recently found out about SnowHaze so I’m trying it out. I will see how I like it in the following weeks. I don’t pay the subscription as I already pay for another VPN (NordVPN).
One thing I don’t like about SnowHaze is the lack of reader mode. However, everything else is awesome.
I used taco taco icon pack which is free.
Bubblegum icon pack costs 1.99 on google play store.

it's a paid icon pack on android, you get it, backup the apk file then extract it and search for the icons you need then export them to a cloud storage of your choosing, get them on iOS and use them with shortcuts.
that being said if you're still interested here's the icon pack:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jndapp.lux.iconpack
I have it but it's a paid app on the play store i can't distribute it but here's the link for it on the play store if you wanna buy it
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.edzondm.linebit
I created by myself the icons using Canva and Photoshop. If you like those I link my Notion public page where there are them. Here you are: https://www.notion.so/iOS-Icons-81ee07613967447680f4170cde58108d
Have you tried Windy? It's a bit different than most because its main focus is the map display rather than numbers and charts, although it does have those in some degree. There are different versions under the same name (if you google it), but this is the version I use. I think it's the official one but I'm not sure. Ventusky is a very similar app, although I think it costs money in the App Store.
Thank you! Wallpaper is here: https://www.pexels.com/photo/ocean-waves-crashing-on-shore-3607231/
Icons are actually straight out of Apple Shortcuts! Just make a shortcut to the app you want to open, then add to home screen. It gives you a bunch of colors and icons to choose from
Like many, I have been obsessively reorganizing my home screen since I found this subreddit. I like this setup so far because it makes a bunch of distractions harder to get to.
My lock screen: https://unsplash.com/photos/7KvC-f2HMy0
My home screen: https://unsplash.com/photos/49CAJoYFmdg
I got the wallpaper from the Unsplash App:
https://unsplash.com/photos/OHxTNeAtNRs
https://unsplash.com/photos/OOE4xAnBhKo
And I arranged my apps in the folder by putting the most used (and ones I should focus to use) in the first few pages and on the last throw anything that I shouldn't be using without a reason.
ProtonMail I was getting tired of third party apps or Google potentially reading my emails, so I switched.
ProtonMail is incorporated in Switzerland and all our servers are located in Switzerland. This means all user data is protected by strict Swiss privacy laws.
All emails are secured automatically with end-to-end encryption. This means even we cannot decrypt and read your emails. As a result, your encrypted emails cannot be shared with third parties.
No personal information is required to create your secure email account. By default, we do not keep any IP logs which can be linked to your anonymous email account. Your privacy comes first.
Notion is my favorite note-taking app. I've searched for the best note-taking app for years. I've used Evernote, Apple Notes, Microsoft Onenote, Wunderlist, Google Notes, Dropbox Paper, and Things 3. There's more but I won't bore you with an extensive list. I found Notion last year and imported all my notes into it and never looked back. Not to mention that Notion is also cross-platform so you don't have to worry about being locked into any particular OS. Check it out, you won't regret it.
You need to go to https://openweathermap.org/ and create an account. Then you’ll get an api key you can put in that will fix that. I believe there are some instructions right near the top in the script if you open it in scriptable.
I don't think that's the issue - I just tested putting in Kuala Lumpur into OpenWeatherMap's site, and they have data there.
Can you try making a new script in Scriptable, and pasting this in (adding your API key between the ""), and seeing if you get the same error?
const apiKey = ""
const weatherReq = "
https://api.openweathermap.org/data/2.5/onecall?lat=3.139003&lon=
101.686852
&units=
metric
&lang=en&appid=
" + apiKey
const data = await new Request(weatherReq).loadJSON()
console.log(data)
The widgets was maked with a Chinese app: this one.
It have a lot of options and is completely free: the problem is that the app is in Chinese. The icons are from: The Noun Project.
The wallpaper is from a Twitter artist, she's account is @Wolframico.
Ok, so in the dictionary value that has your username, API key and upload_preset you should have your cloudinary username, the API key from the site and then the preset is ml_default. (That’s a lower case L.).
There’s also a setting in Cloudinary you can try and tweak. Upload Presets are found here https://cloudinary.com/console/settings/upload and you can tweak the setting there. It’ll have the name of your default (which I’m sure is ml_default) and change the setting from false to true. See if that helps.
not sure if this is OP's, but i found this site that looks like em. search "phone app" or whatever and you can also change the colors around! have to make the background white so it's not transparent when you download it fyi
All the icons are from this site. They are transparent so you can use the color on the shortcuts app to pick the grey color. I didn’t create the icons myself. Work less think smarter 😎
QR codes can be found here. You can use a site like https://www.flaticon.com to look for the png icons you want to use.
I have used Figma (https://www.figma.com) which is User Interface Design program.
It's completely free. I simply imported the screenshots, resized them and added a soft drop shadow.
I spent a lot of time on r/Privacy and r/privacytoolsIO and started there. Led down a rabbit hole of good info. Check out https://www.eff.org as well as https://prism-break.org/en/
There are a plethora of websites that can help guide you. Lots of reviews on different apps and how good they are.
>!Azendoo!<. It has an obvious interface, focused around tasks—communal chat rooms, typically organized around a topic or team—and direct messaging.
It also has several simple but useful “integrations” with other tools, such as Github, a service that software developers use to collaborate on code. In addition to mobile apps, Azendoo launched with a Mac app.
Nice! I do something similar, though a bit more convoluted.
Notability for handwritten notes, Upnote (similar to Bear) for most other writing.
I use Just Press Record to record less formal meetings and conversations I might want transcribed, and I just recently got into a new app by a redditor called Timeline Journal for daily journalling.
It had "Superchargers" that "super" "charged" your email.
They were recently purchased and revived. You can check it out here. Essentially its everything Superhuman is offering except Newton is on all platforms and costs (relatively) less.
Ive started using Spark, which some people hate for privacy reasons, but its been good for me. I imagine that people who LIVE out of their email inbox all day long would be willing to pay to relieve that pain point. It's why I bought Newton once upon a time, but I've since left that job. Email can be exhausting.
Apple Reminders or Things 3 would be great.
Reminders would be the best recommended as it's free but quite powerful. Things 3 is worth checking out however, just pure beauty: https://culturedcode.com/things/.
i am using "mList - create shared lists" application.it is flexiable. i am development it.

I know this is for Android and not for iPhones, but I thought maybe this is something you might want to share with your friends who have Android, or I know some of you like to use both iPhone and Android. This is a 3 page preset for KLWP (Kustom Live WallPaper).
Based on the new macOS Big Sur. Features new Big Sur OS icons, control panel where you can choose from 8 different wallpapers, toggle dark mode and navigation bar (if you have on screen navigation buttons), as well as WiFi/Bluetooth/Airplane mode. You can also see a battery bar, Music volume bar, and music player. On the main page you can open the "Finder" folder where you have access to favorite apps, and on the third page you have your news/agenda/clock/weather widgets. For those of you who have a camera cutout on the corner, I also added an option under the globals tab in the KLWP app so you can add padding to the left or the right side of the notification bar so it leaves space for the camera. You can see the video to see how it can be done. I also added a toggle in the globals tab to remove the notification bar from the theme completely if you prefer to use the phone's notification bar instead. I hope you like it since it's going to be my last theme (at least for a long time).
