I made this a few days ago and wanted to share. It is printed on transparent film from posterprintshop.com and is about 3ft tall. It is a simple hollow box with white LEDs inside, and the print is between 2 pieces of plexiglass. I included the high quality image in the link if someone else would like to give it a try. The colors look weird because its hard to take a picture of something bright, it looks much closer to the the original image. The image is credit to Graham Holtshausen HERE
Imgur Album A couple more pics, look at the 3rd to "fix" your perspective of its actual size!
Q: Why isn't the middle hex empty like in real life?
A: Because it blocked too much of the galaxy and didn't look as good ;)
Q: Can I purchase one?
A: Yes! After a good bit of interest and troubleshooting(and help from users in the sub) I will make a few to put on my Etsy shop!.
Thanks for providing the source. It looks like Robert Jahns took the this image from Andre Tan and added the person and the dog.
This actually reminds me of a question I wanted to ask the sub about "video game tourism" and if anyone's done it. It started with Fallout 4 which made me want to go visit Boston which I've never been to and it made me wonder if tourism to the city will grow as a result of the game's popularity.
Recently I looked at some photography of Iceland and some of the shots look like real life Skyrim. Now I really want to travel to Iceland :-o

As a native Austrian living just an hour away from Hallstatt, I have to admit that this is probably one of the most overrated places in this country. It is pretty for sure, but not worth the hype and the hordes of tourists. I went into a local bakery there once at 3PM on a Wednesday and the saleswoman was totally surprised when I greeted her - I was the first customer who actually spoke the local language this week.
There are a lot more scenic places just arround the corner that have a lot more to offer and are nowhere near as crowded.
Just in case you wonder want this view looks like in winter, here is a picture I took last year at the same spot :)
His name is Frank and this photo of him was taken in the summer of 2016. He's the significant other of a photographer named Lesley Juarez who posts some of her photos to a free stock photo site called Unsplash. The photos posted to the site are completely free to use for any purpose. He's a photographer himself and doesn't appear to model professionally.
I found his personal Instagram but won't post it here for privacy reasons. He made a post when this photo was taken.
The guy who made the poster didn't use the original image with express consent, so he didn't know who the girl was (the image was legally free to use though - Unsplash.com)

Thanks to the comments on his post, someone linked her instagram. She's a model from NYC named Yessy.

Original creator of this checking in - this gif and image has taken up a life of its own.
It was a England vs Brazil game in either 2012 or 2013, can’t remember off the top of my head. I was living in student halls right next to the Wembley Park tube station
Here’s the raw material I originally shot and made the gif out of: https://youtu.be/_wjt1aOivMY
I shot a still version of this as well; it’s freely available on Unsplash if you want to use it somewhere: https://unsplash.com/photos/tk6q5WJopZ0
The Ocean doesn't usually look blue. That's why "aqua" is a separate color.
Maybe certain cultures who didn't have blue-eyed people only ever saw the color in the sky, because blue plants are quite rare. Then they would use the phrase "color of the sky" and might not need a separate word for the color itself.
But the color appears in the old testament of the Bible enough times to prove the theory wrong. Those people had lapis lazuli and sapphire and could describe blue that way. And Peruvians were dying cloth with indigo more than 6,000 years ago, so surely they had a name for indigo blue else how would they talk about it?
Sounds to me like those researchers did a shitty job.
If you load up Redfin and take a look at San Francisco from a high level, you'll see the average price is just about $1.2mm. If you load up redfin and look at Seattle from a high level, you'll see the average is $500k. SF average price for square footage is nearly $900, in Seattle its just under $400.
Now, I'm just a ~~caveman~~ artist so I don't really understand things like math and statistics, I find them scary and frustrating, but to me it seems we have a ways until we're "catching up".
Additionally the average time a place stays up for sale is a bit shorter in Seattle: 7 days vs 13 (according to redfin). Plus we tend to have one more bedroom and a bit more square footage.
Seattle has a lot in common with the geography of SF. Surrounded by water and peppered with steep hills. So its only a matter of time until we're shoulder to shoulder like in SF. This really is a good time to buy if you're able to do so, or if you're close (beg and borrow from your relatives). It's not going to get cheaper unless... I don't even know. Probably only if something catastrophic happens and we're all killed. Not even a major earthquake will stop Seattles growth, SF has had plenty of horrible earthquakes (source: lived through the 89 loma prieta - which destroyed their viaduct freeways) and obviously wasn't stopped.
So for the old timers, be grateful you lived here when Seattle was a quiet little fishing town and got to see it grow into the global level metropolitan city it's becoming. Nothing lasts for ever.
Hi Pieter! Nice to meet you!
Im Duy a designer living in Vietnam, a country from Asia. I am using Fujifilm XT100 which is a mirrorless with a 27mm F2.8 Fuji lens. I’m in love with street life, portrait, landscape, bw photography. So hopefully you will teach me more abt photography knowledge, thank you in advance! I think this is my best photo :) My best photo
I just did a quick try on this great photo by Brigitte Tohm on Unsplash.
Here's a link to a Dropbox folder with the original image, my edit, and my PSD. It's convincing, but with further tweaks it could be even closer.
This theme is inspired from a jailbreak tweak called iOS Blocks and the Google assistant page in the Google app. You can see my WIP post here
Other things to note:
The toggles for WiFi and Bluetooth actually do change to blue when it's on and black when its off, like the iOS control centre. The icons change as well.
The weather widget background shows a picture of the current forecast.

I do. I just have three apps pinned (Edge, Messenger, Google Photos) and the other apps are hidden but revealed by swiping up.
My wallpaper changes but it's usually minimal images I take myself. If you want some nice photos check, Unsplash.
So I made a unsplash collection which includes some of the best images (from personal view) from unsplash which can help u create a dope theme. It's also upadated regularly.
The original background is here, and someone just took the anime character and overlayed it to make it "original", and cropped it a bit. At least that's my impression, I could be wrong though.
This is on the island of Zakynthos in Greece and the ship is the MV Panagiotis.
My psych provided some insight that made a lot of sense: What good is perfect if the task doesn't get done?
I struggle with this a bit. During a project I constantly check in to see if I'm on task or if I've gone off on a rabbit trail. If you have a hard time doing the self check in, set a timer for a short interval.
As far as your project, pick a topic you already know something about. Pick something at random if you can't decide. Your favorite band, author, type of food (BBQ joint, steakhouse, chocolate, etc), or a travel website... something that you can easily create content for. Or, if lorem ipsum is allowed, just use that.
Then, wireframe it out. If you tend to get distracted with this, design it on paper first. You can set a timer for 20 minutes and only focus on the layout during that time.
When the wireframe is done, code it up using only HTML... no styling for now. It sounds like this is the main requirement of the project so don't proceed until you have this done.
Only when the coding is done, have fun with the visual design. Pull some images from Unsplash or Pexels or your favorite photo site, pick your fonts, etc.
You CAN do this!
The blue mountain background was created by Ibin Siraj, downloaded from Pexels. (fully credited in the details page) Other backgrounds are taken by my friends I used to work with + stuff I took myself. Other projects off course were using stuff from unsplash.com because they provide high quality images that you can use for both personal and commercial use

Sorry for the brevity of the last comment. I was late for an appointment. I promised to show what I am talking about, so here's one from last week which contains the Unsplash image. Beto Galetto won't realize a financial gain from my use of that image (and I almost certainly won't either) but he made the world a better, nicer place by uploading it and that is worth something.

Hey guys! Here's a single page (sort of) theme that I've been working on. Swiping L to R reveals the app drawer on the side. From R to L reveals notifications. Tapping the notifications gives you the option to open or dismiss the and the music page is accessed from the Icon in the bottom right corner of the home page.
I'm really happy with how it's coming together so far.

Hi!
I'm a android dude there's no deny in that but I don know how important good wallpapers are for a setup that's why I am sharing it here too.
So I made a unsplash collection which includes some of the best images (from personal view) from unsplash which can help u create a dope theme. This consists of all kinda walls from nature to patterns, etc It's also upadated regularly.
I have tried to reduce my phone use the last month or two. I got inspired by () to delete as many apps as possible, and only have the apps I really need. Yes, Snapchat and instagram are there. Snapchat I don’t use that much so its not an issue for me. I use it for a specific group chat, but I might delete it. Instagram I will delete... soon. Yes, I have a problem. The other apps are:
Vipps: I can see my bank balance and send money to other people. Living in Norway this is the way sending money works
Vy: My train ticket. I commute to school everyday so this makes it so I don’t have to carry a card
Messenger: Mostly for school,
Jobb og Lønn: This is a salary calculator. I input the hours I work and the days and it gives me the after tax payout. I work part time at Ikea and go to school so work minimal but getting paid enough is important for me. I use this app to see if a accept a shift what that means for my end of the month pay.
Storytel: This is an audiobook app. I can stream all the books that are available, for a fixed price each month.
Google maps: I use this over apple maps, because the public transport info is a bit more detailed on google maps
Spotify: I like this because the podcast and music app is one, but I don’t listen to that much music so I’m considering switching to soundcloud, but that means a standalone podcast app.
Instagram: I need to delete this
Snapchat: I don’t use it to much but its makes it easer to send random videos and pics to friends
Unsplash is a good source for high res original photography. The website, unsplash.com , and app all play nice on iPad as well.

How are you trying to get clients now?
The main thing in my opinion is to change your mindset.
The difference between a successful Photographer and your current struggles is believing that you're going to bring value to any project you're associated with.
To get the ball rolling do this.
Go to https://unsplash.com/ and create an account and start upload.
Click on popular sections like https://unsplash.com/search/photos/business and find out what sort of photos have the most hearts.
Make photos that are similar to those but make them better
Make sure to link up your social media profiles to your Unsplash account because myself and others thank Photographers for their awesome photos via Unsplash when we download them
Next make sure you're talk business to clients not about your camera etc.
Ask them: What do you think my photos of your product will do for your business?
Try and assign a dollar amount to the impact you're giving to said project.
Also read this and it will help you think value vs. hourly rates https://www.freshbooks.com/ebooks/breaking-the-time-barrier
Do you have a website?
Somewhere in Canada most likely.
The original (?) was taken on August 17, 2015 by a guy named Larry Chen from Vancouver. Sadly there's no description or even title to the picture and I couldn't find any Geotagging information either. The pic is used by a lot of canadian websites, especially in the western parts.
That's what happens if I see a question on reddit and think "Oh that's probably really easy to answer with a bit of googling".
Edit: Found it. The picture was taken in or close to the Murrin Provincial Park, close to Vancouver, Canada. What you see on the pic isn't a lake, it's the sea. Now I want to go to Canada...
EDIT: Original, full resolution, un-cropped version of the wallpaper can be downloaded from here: https://unsplash.com/@billy_huy?photo=W8KTS-mhFUE

Additional notes: Menu is a Whisker Menu. Intenet, Music etc. are xfce4-panel's renamed launchers (For example - I set the first launcher to display label instead of icon and renamed Firefox to Internet). Time and Date are in fact 3 xfce-panel's clocks divided by separators. They are set to display %H:%M (time), %R (date), %A (day of the week). There's also a hidden panel at the bottom - it displays open windows, battery, wifi etc. Also, windows have no borders around them. I achieved this by making an empty xfwm4 theme. It's very easy. Go to usr/share/themes and create a new folder (I called it "No Borders"). Inside this folder create another one called xfwm4 and inside xfwm4 folder create a file called themerc. Leave it empty. Now go to xfce window manager settings and change the style to your empty theme.

The key to a good presentation is confidence. My secret is slidescarnival. They have free amazing templates than you can customize; if you’re confident in your visuals, it boosts your own performance. For visuals, I recommend Unsplash and using charts. You do have to do a bit of editing to make it cohesive. Then you have to practice, practice, practice. Get rid of stammers, be familiar with your content, work on your timing. Make sure to keep it from being too dry- you also want to show your own personality.
Start with your background/education, then your achievements, and how you’ll tie what you learned into your vision for the company’s future.
Check out professional presentations for inspiration. Here’s one by Chinese-American CEO Joseph Quan.

Unsplash is a terrific website that hosts royalty-free, HD photos from all sorts of photographers. I'm really glad I found it! Their search function is great and returns relevant results.
HideMeX is used in every screenshot in one way or another, i'm sorry to say but most things in this setup are custom (Lockscreen widget, Masq theme, Statusbar, Homescreen widget, CC) I will see about releasing some of it based on the response :) Feel free to ask any other questions you may have.

So my work flow for a website goes, hand drawing wireframes, 2-3 designs and then the complete design.
Wireframing is done by hand as it's supposed to be rough. Designing I use Sketch, which is €99 (one off) and specific to Mac only. A Windows alternative is Adobe Experience Design which I believe is still in early access.
For photos I use https://unsplash.com/ some really nice free images. You can also use a site like https://www.shutterstock.com/ if the client likes the image then they can pay for it.
Personally I use icons from http://ionicons.com/ as they are nice, free & open source.
I only really use Photoshop and Illustrator. Photoshop for editing images, you can also use Photoshop for designing websites. Kinda old school that. Illustrator is mainly used if content is supplied to me as a .ai which it often is. Hope this helped!

They do have this bit in terms under Prohibited Conduct (section 8.G): >Sell copies of Photos without first significantly or meaningfully updating, modifying, or otherwise incorporating new creative elements into the Photos beyond simple retouches, resizing, or other minimal changes so long as they are not done by automated means (i.e., selling unaltered, slightly altered, or altered by automatic script copies of the Photos), including selling them as prints or printed on physical goods;
But since OP mentions:
>Now all I can do is watch as people slap corny quotes all over it and make money off work they didn't even put a single ounce of effort into.
that would presumably qualify (since they removed the offending item link) as allowable usage. And a small bit of effort is all that's needed.

Of the timelapse? I use a Raspberry Pi 3 running Octoprint to control my printer, and I use the plugin Octolapse to move my extruder and bed to a specific X/Y position for each frame of the video. I use a PiCamera v2 as my camera.
Or do you mean the shot of the pineapple? I found a picture of a pineapple here, and photoshopped the background to be flat white so that it would work better for the litho.
Original pic from Unsplash. Used GIFKR for the pixelsorting effects, layered many different glitches on top of each other and masked some stuff away in Photoshop. The "bowl" -thingy in the hands was actually made from a pixel sorting texture I made on my phone on the Glitch! -app. For the last touch added some noise and dirt/scratch textures on top of the image.

Thanks a lot! Yes I did. And it's free to use for anything you want (released under CC0 on several sites like almost all my photos) and there are a lot more macro shots (and more) on my unsplash among other sites.
I'm very picky myself and whenever I look up 'iPhone wallpapers' on Google I get redirected to a really slow website only containing wallpapers with colorful bokeh effects and pictures of half-naked women - not really what I am looking for when it comes to a nice and clean wallpaper. I'd check out <strong>unsplash.com</strong> if I were you, they have some really amazing wallpapers up for grabs as pretty much every image is 5184 x 3456 and free-to-use for anything you'd like.

I usually change my setups quite often (weekly) but I’m just loving the simplicity of this. My productivity apps are all easily accessible on the home screen and all possible distractions are in folders. I’ve organised the folders from left to right as: Apple, kind of useful, really useful and finance.

Reverse image search suggests that it's Whistler, Canada, photographed by Roberto Nickson, the name of the photo is "Magic in the Whistler Village".
The store on the left is an outdoor sports store from what's in the window, and it looks like it's in a very touristy portion of town.
I'd guess that it's in this part of Whistler, but it would take looking at each street-view intersection at each outdoor sports store to figure out which one it is.

Really nice. Seems like the HTML + CSS + DOM JS version of those code-solving platforms (Edabit, CodeWars, etc.)
When I landed on the page I thought I was on Unsplash for a second.
