Hi Pieter! Nice to meet you!
Im Duy a designer living in Vietnam, a country from Asia. I am using Fujifilm XT100 which is a mirrorless with a 27mm F2.8 Fuji lens. I’m in love with street life, portrait, landscape, bw photography. So hopefully you will teach me more abt photography knowledge, thank you in advance! I think this is my best photo :) My best photo
Really excited for all this!!

My name is Sebastian, I'm 17 and I'm from Toronto. I see photography as a mental de-stress for myself, and as a student, I try to pull whatever free time I have to go out and shoot. I've been taking photos for 2 years now using some of my dad's old equipment and very recently upgraded.
My favourite photography style is street photography and candids. Capturing the nice and brief moments that are often overlooked is really what I try to do.
My passion started when I picked up my dad's old DSLR to take photos for the family and since then I've just gone out and about taking photos of everything and anyone I see. I'm excited about this course because I've never received any technical training in photography so this will be a first!

My equipment is:
Fujifilm X-T2 w/ 18-55 f2.8
Olympus OM10 w/ 50mm 1.8

My favourite shot so far is easily this from my film camera.
What's up fellow photogs! My name is Jeremiah, but you can call me Jerry. I live near Philadelphia in Pennsylvania. I've been shooting with DSLR s for about 5 years. I got started thanks to a mentor using the canon 5d Mk3 in an automotive studio shooting racecars. I then left the company and now 3 years later shoot music shows for live nation, weddings, product photography and what ever else will pay the bills. I shoot with: D810 D750 Zeiss 25mm 2.0 Nikon 50mm 1.8 Zeiss 100mm 2.0 Tamron g2 70-200 2.8
I love shooting with the zeiss manual focus lenses. They are insanely sharp, the manual focus and all metal craftsmanship make the focus throw a dream. It also forces you to take time when setting up your composition vs back button af. Not great for action shots/fast moving subjects though.
I'd like to shoot more portraits and get more comfortable with studio lighting and lighting on location.
Favorite shot:
Ambelobe Panther Chameleon Godzilla https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/RpyVpuWItr24fcBfWZCyAHSXxl833x2zmA0aZo6QhCi
Edit: removed multiple photos

Hey, I'm the_creepy_guy from Nepal. I enjoy adventure photography, but would like to get into street and potraits too. I use Canon 77D with 18-135mm kit lens. This and this is what I consider one of my good works.
It has been 5 months at max that I started at photography, when I bought my camera. I think I struggle with composition, and post-processing.
Looking forward to the class.
Hi I'm Kit from Australia. I started photography as a kid playing with my dad's Nikkormat FT2. I took photography as an elective in high school and enjoyed learning how to control light with a mechanical camera and chemicals in developing film. This gave me a reasonable understanding of photography as a whole moving forward.

Nowadays I shoot with a Canon G7x MK1 and my Sony XZ1c smartphone. I've developed a mantra of shooting for quantity and seeing what sticks, so I'm generally not too precious about how I take photos. I figure if I take enough photos, eventually some of them will come out okay. I would say I tend to rely too much on the gimmicky side of photography; long exposures, exposure bracketed HDR and using a camera's rapid action shots so I can just grab the one frame that works out of a dozen. All things that ultimately don't require too much effort, but tend to wow non-photographers.

While I enjoy photography, I don't currently see myself as a serious photographer due to my reliance on these simple techniques and would like to further develop my skills. I don't have a favourite shot, but I do currently have this one as my phone lockscreen, taken from when I was last in Kyoto, Japan.
Hi everyone,
I'm Nedu from Nigeria. I got a camera (NIKON D3200) while living in India two years ago. In that time, this is what I'd consider to be my best picture, taken at the Tamil Nadu Zoo, India.
I hope to learn, and improve on my skills. It's my desire to start a photography business now I'm back home.
Hi Pieter, I'm Qube, and I live in the UK. I'd say my photographs a wide range of themes. In no particular order these include: (1) wildlife, (2) landscapes, (3) street photography / the built environment, (4) portraits, (5) sport, (6) fireworks, (7) travel, and recently I've spent time working on (7) stock photography and trying to build a portfolio.
I shoot with a Nikon D3100 and I have the following lenses (in order of purchase):
Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6
Nikon 55-200mm f/4-5.6
Nikon 200-500mm f/5.6
Nikon 50mm f/1.8
I try to go out and take photos every weekend, and I feel like I am improving but I don't think I have quite developed my own style as yet. I'm looking forward to the course, improving my skills, learning many new things and receiving constructive feedback on my photos.
I've found it pretty hard to pick a "single best" photograph, but here is probably one of the best I have:

Hello there. I made a Reddit account just to join this group and participate. I've recently picked up photography as a hobby, but don't have much money to invest in my hobby. My kit consists of a very old Canon T1i, the kit EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens, and a tripod. I've taken a lot of landscape and astrophotography photos, but very few of them I'm happy with. I travel a lot and picked up photography as a way to stay busy and to explore on my trips. Of all the photos I've taken, this one is my favorite. I know this image can be better, but I can't put my finger on what should be improved upon.
As to my workflow, I've started shooting in RAW and developing in darktable, which is a free and open-source alternative to Adobe Lightroom. I have no clue what I'm doing inside darktable. I mostly just move the sliders around and click buttons until I get an image I'm happy with. One day I'd love to have a financially self-supportive hobby: to sell a few photos and invest that money into better equipment.
I’m ioueas. I’ve always been interested in photography but never committed to buying a camera. I’m a throughly modern millennial that’s never owned a camera, that was astounded by the improvement in the photo quality between my old Samsung S3 and my current iPhone 7, that considered moving my (Instagram) photo editing from VSCO to Snapseed a major upgrade.
I’m in the process of finding a cheap, older DSLR. I’m looking at the Canon Rebel XTi but welcome any other suggestions for older DLSRs (body and a lens) for under $150.
Here’s my best non-phone shot that I grabbed with my dad’s 2006 Sony Alpha a230.
At the end of the 41 classes I’d like to be able to operate a camera with some semblance of confidence, frame some shots in a way that’s more interesting than what’s on my Instagram page, and make some above-mediocre shots. Thank you Pieter for setting this up! I look forward to seeing how myself and everyone else improves.
