Some fun facts!
Not a professional photographer, so maybe there's something glaring I'm missing, but Amazon offers unlimited photo storage in their cloud drive (full resolution too, not slimmed down like Google does) for prime members.
Couple things: - Good job exposing for the sky and bringing up the shadows in post. You can always bring up shadows but you cannot bring down a blowout.
While the overall exposure looks ok, the image ended up looking a little flat. One good way to help with this is to throw the image into black and white, and if the tones look interesting then it will also be interesting in color. I have a feeling though that this image in black and white would look quite flat. Play around with the contrast.
Bring up the highlights in the water. It will make it pop a little more and look a little more clear and sparkly vs dingy.
Check your white balance, the image looks a bit warm to me.
If you’re using Lightroom, play around with vibrance and dehaze. Otherwise, you might want to raise the greens a bit.
Edit: Here's a quick edit implementing those suggestions. https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/JjcJQ4Nc6dyQiCMi2zHFW0LixVns3G1JDpHbwdSfswT
I started a GoFundMe to help purchase a new (to me) camera, as my current camera is over 6 years old and starting to really show its age. Last year I was one of the main photographers at NT14, and shot A LOT OF PHOTOS. Thursday evening meet-n-greet? Check. Smoke Monster 2.0? Check. TMS Live? Yup. Night Attack Live? Hells yeah.
I have nearly 1200 photos from NT14 posted up, publically, for anyone to use. Scott Johnson has been using them a ton for various Frogpants things, JuRY's used them too, along with a lot of Tadpool and Diamond Club people. Check them out at https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/qmqYIZnWE5E0H7xlacS--Mt88OZfAJ-V5PyqmS-M6Fk?ref_=cd_share_link_copy
Anyways, I'm hoping to get a new full-frame camera, and will be posting all Nerdtacular photos online. Currently the Nikon D800 body is going for ~$1500 online, and I have some things to sell and raise money, so I'm thinking the $1250 i'm looking for is reasonable. I've got a new ultra-wide lens to go along with my telephoto zoom, so the new camera should allow my photos for NT15 to look even nicer than last year's!
The URL to the GoFundMe is http://www.gofundme.com/nerdtacularcamera
It's my understanding that Amazon's free unlimited storage does not cover videos. Photos, yes.
However their Unlimited Everything plan for Amazon Cloud Drive is a great deal.
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/home
I've been using it since it was first released, and I love knowing that I never have to worry about running out of storage space and I can keep the full resolution of my photos and videos (unlike Google Photos, which I use too, by the way. I take comfort in having more than one cloud storage option.)
This service is FREE for Prime members.
But for those running a business... "You may not use the Service to store, transfer or distribute content of or on behalf of third parties, to operate your own file storage application or service, to operate a photography business or other commercial service."
Yes, but, as I already explained, no cosmological argument says that everything has a cause.

I would recommend a therapist for your wife. But seriously, I'm definitely on your side. Reading about eliminating originals and flattening edits made my palms sweaty and heart rate elevate. Is it that she's demanding to get rid of them, or open to it if she doesn't have to do anything?
My setup is similar to yours but instead of Synology, I built a server for cheap running unRaid and filled it with WD 4TB Red drives. Still need to get the crashplan autmation going, but if you have Amazon Prime, RAW files are considered images and they will store an unlimited amount for you at no cost.
Close relative fell in love with a thread crochet peacock feather photo online and innocently had faith in me to convert the pattern into an afghan in late 2017, very humbling. Could not find a similar pattern in yarn at the time (several available by others now). Managed to figure it out, made her a small throw but paid the price, as her DIL-to-be fell in love with it immediately and bought the yarn for me to make same in queen size, just over 300 motifs! Ends to weave in galore! It's joined like some mile-a-minute projects. Determination and a good system, making 10 at a time, helped me finish it in 2-3 months. Spread out on a king size bed, picture details are blurry, so I added a little cheat sheet (in the corner) I made to help me keep on track as each piece went into production :D Lots of satisfaction and relief when this was done. They truly love it!

Myths:
Vapor Trail: In Hollywood, if a damaged car is trailing a line of gasoline, lighting it on fire spells doom for the driver. How about real life?
Deadly Defibrillator: Could the metal in an underwire bra or a nipple piercing cause arcing from a defibrillator, and thus bodily harm?
Powder Keg Explosion: In old time movies the hero could save the day by outrunning and kicking out the trail of gunpowder, before it burns down to the powder keg and explodes. The team puts this myth to the test.

Unless you're doing this as a learning exercise, why not use Amazon Cloud Drive ? It's $59.99/yr for unlimited storage and has decent apps that will handle the sync for you.
You're not really "signing over your rights to Google". The relevant part of the ToS is this:
> When you upload, submit, store, send or receive content to or through our Services, you give Google (and those we work with) a worldwide license to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, create derivative works (such as those resulting from translations, adaptations or other changes we make so that your content works better with our Services), communicate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute such content. The rights you grant in this license are for the limited purpose of operating, promoting, and improving our Services, and to develop new ones.
Particularly:
> The rights you grant in this license are for the limited purpose of operating, promoting, and improving our Services, and to develop new ones.
Considering the fact that they're hardly likely to ignore the private status of your photos, the only ones you have to worry about are your public photos. So they can use your public photos to operate, promote or improve their service. That sounds to me like they'll use them to show them to people who want to see them on your profile (which is the point of making them public), use them for advertising (they'll almost certainly credit you for this and the publicity alone seems worth it for an amateur photographer) or to improve their services (stuff like the image search I imagine).
I can't see how any of this is bad. And if you don't want it, just don't make them public. Problem solved.
There are other options as well though. Amazon's Prime Photos service gives you unlimited "Original" quality storage for free with your Prime account for example.
PRO TIP: I'm sure others have mentioned Google Drive and to download the Google Photos app to automatically back up all your photos for free. But if you're an Amazon Prime member, you have free unlimited photo storage through Amazon Prime Photos: https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/primephotos.
So... you want DropBox to essentially turn themselves into a not for profit so you don't have to pay what the service is actually worth? People need to say these things out loud before posting them so they can hear how crazy they sound and save us some trouble.
Cloud storage isn't a one time purchase. Their costs are monthly, and so are yours. If you think DropBox is charging too much, check out some alternatives like Amazon Cloud Drive which is less than half the price or, if you're only using DropBox to maintain an emergency backup, Mozy or Carbonite which are each super cheap in the comparison and will do the job nicely.
You just have to keep in mind, though, that for that lower price you get the network storage but lose the other bells and whistles that make DropBox so useful (the desktop syncing application, file versioning, public and private file sharing, etc).
Some Bollywood movies are listed as premium and some as not premium.
This is confusing. When I joined moviepass, there was no mention that Bollywood movies won't be part of regular screening. I feel moviepass changes terms regularly based on their convenience. I am not sure if this was intentional from moviepass or there is a bug in the app. I went to watch the movie and got disappointed to see the movie as premium screening. I have already seen few Bollywood movies using moviepass and I see this change. Very confusing.

Suggestion: Amazon Cloud Drive is $5/mo for unlimited storage, or $1/mo for unlimited photo backups only.
Amazon $60 year Cloud Drive?
Running a harddrive consumes ~10 watts of power (spun up) and lets say your management drive takes 10 watts of power. 20 watts x 1 year x 12 cents kW = $21/year.
Your harddrive will probably last 3-5 years, so $100/3 = $33/yr. Even a raspberry PI, cables, and such will cost $50, so $13/year.
$33+$13+$21 = more than amazon cloud drive.
Alternatively, there is a $184 ("used", ie returned) TS140 i3 on Amazon right now. Run OwnCloud on it. Then run Plex and get a Chrome stick, join /r/datahoarders, and go all out with a 8x4TB array.
For me, this photo says it all: https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/Or7hLQI9I9wy2bQfSjGbcWd8Sd6-wRPlYToeV6kaZ0g

...of course.
They do not offer indefinite storage other than your stock 7gb per account. This is pretty standard for cloud storage subscriptions like dropbox, amazon, and onedrive. It's always in one year terms.
Normal price is $50.00. If you want to turn your nose up to that, that is your option. I still think it's worth sharing, and quite honestly one hell of a value.

According to this you get 5GB for video, music, and other things not photos and unlimited photo storage if you are a Prime member. The unlimited storage is $60/year and separate from Prime.
I am not sure if this is worth switching if you already have some other cloud backup storage service.
Seriously man, use Bittorrent Sync.
It's like cloud drives but is built on the bittorrent protocol but files and folders can be shared with links to folders just like with Cloud drives.
But, if you want to spring for unlimited cloud storage, I'd recommend Amazon's Unlimited everything for $59.99.
Amazon Cloud Drive and acd_cli.
$59.99/year gets me all the storage space I want, and thanks to their mobile app, I can access those files whenever and wherever I am.
Takes a bit of planning, but it's well worth the money.

Thanks for the salt everyone! I'm impressed my oddball luck made a nomination. I feel like that was the games way of telling me I should go back to Tyro and use him more. "You may not use the Service to store, transfer or distribute content of or on behalf of third parties, to operate your own file storage application or service, to operate a photography business or other commercial service."
But this is still nice for personal photos. I thought this was free with Amazon Prime anyway? I like the competition in this space. I love Dropbox's implementation, but wish they had something in between the free plan and the pro plan.
EDIT: This exact service is free for Prime members. I am signing up now!

What's up fellow photogs! My name is Jeremiah, but you can call me Jerry. I live near Philadelphia in Pennsylvania. I've been shooting with DSLR s for about 5 years. I got started thanks to a mentor using the canon 5d Mk3 in an automotive studio shooting racecars. I then left the company and now 3 years later shoot music shows for live nation, weddings, product photography and what ever else will pay the bills. I shoot with: D810 D750 Zeiss 25mm 2.0 Nikon 50mm 1.8 Zeiss 100mm 2.0 Tamron g2 70-200 2.8
I love shooting with the zeiss manual focus lenses. They are insanely sharp, the manual focus and all metal craftsmanship make the focus throw a dream. It also forces you to take time when setting up your composition vs back button af. Not great for action shots/fast moving subjects though.
I'd like to shoot more portraits and get more comfortable with studio lighting and lighting on location.

I was on cold tires out of the pits as I didn't change them and they cooled down too much while crawling down the pit lane and refuelling. That made the car somewhat understeery for the first lap and yeah I left the door a bit open in T4 to give you that chance. Didn't think you would be able to accelerate that fast keeping the inside line.

I'm actually pretty suprised seeing this, but according to the website it is a annual fee of $60USD for unlimited storage.
I'm curious to hear from anyone using this service, and there recommendations. I haven't dug into the TOS at all, but it seems interesting!
forget that composite, imo. amazon cloud drive is the best and cheapest service. It's programs flat out don't work. So don't bother trying to learn how. Get a third party program that uses the amazon cloud drive API.
I like using rclone on windows, although acd_cli for linux is also really amazing.
when I first started using ACD a year ago I tried to use the desktop program but it wouldn't work at all. It choked on too many files or too big of files, and didn't work well in reverse.
rclone can in one command though backup everything you've got to ACD and browse/retrieve/check it easily
http://rclone.org/docs/ http://rclone.org/downloads/
I do like using https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/folder/root
just to browse what I have, but the website is limited to 2gb downloads, the desktop program IIRC is limited to 20gb downloads and doesn't allow selective downloading. etc.
Amazon cloud drive has some really nice features that I prefer over other services, like the fact it accepts a all my unplugged external drives in a box in my closet, or the fact it doesn't bog down my computer's performance by doing local deduplication, although some users may prefer these features.
BTW on linux with a 3rd party program using the amazon cloud drive API you can even mount your amazon cloud drive backup as a regular harddrive device. Such a thing isn't possible on windows though.
I'm a little late on this one by the looks and I haven't read ALL of the comments, but if it were me .. this is what I would do. If your partner doesn't have the up-front dollars to spend on this, just remind her that her entire livelihood could be lost if this data is lost, so it's better to spend now and protect for the future - just think of it like insurance.
For hardware, I would STRONGLY recommend looking at a Synology NAS, it has all of the features anyone would want and it's some enterprise grade hardware. In the four years of dealing with these with small business, I haven't seen one have any issues at all, besides disk failure. Take a look at the Synology RAID Calculator to come up with the disks you want to use vs the device you should purchase.
For backup, I would suggest getting an Amazon CloudDrive account. It's UNLIMITED data storage for $100/yr on one of the worlds leading cloud based infrastructures, you're not going to get much better for your dime. $100/yr for peace of mind and security of data loss?
And now you ask, 'but how do I get the backups to the cloud from the NAS?', Synology have a built in backup system which allows you to backup data to Amazon CloudDrive. I believe it has got a lot better since that article was written.
EDIT: Just saw the T&C's for Amazon CloudDrive, that sucks!
Here's the restored version. You can also play around with the psd file here
I'd recommend cloud storage over external hard drive any day, unless you do proper backups.
I'd say go with Google Drive.
If you have Amazon Prime, you get unlimited photo storage with Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/primephotos
You can also get unlimited photo storage with Amazon Cloud Drive for $12/year: https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/home

> I recently went back and edited a photo that I've had for a couple of years, there was always a nagging feeling that I could get it to work some how
No joke.
I'm a rank amateur as well. I've only been shooting a few years, and I'm super glad that I was talked into shooting RAW well before I knew why I should.
It's a fun game to take the good photos from that first year and compare the out of camera .jpg, my edit from then, and my edit now just to see how different they are.
Good example of the difference a year of editing makes: https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/4DwHVoWsc3PhcconZFhmXYjW0RAHoxe6NUX2DVF6Uom?v=grid&ref_=cd_ph_share_link_copy
And I'll be the first to admit that I'm not very good. I can only imagine what it will be like in 10 years when I've got the chops to actually do that photo justice. But, until then there's just us.
Why use Glacier which seems to be designed for commercial use when you can just use Amazon Cloud Drive? $60/year for unlimited storage sounds pretty cheap to me.
You might want to look into Amazon Cloud. It's $12/yr for unlimited photos and 5GB for other files. For $60/yr, it's completely unlimited.
I've been using it for awhile and I love it. I have about 400GB of photos and it has worked pretty well for me.
Ah! Sorry, I wasn't aware. This must be after they introduced the unlimited photos service. I use this now. At $11 a year, it's the best option I found. Another thing I like is that it's old school. Only manual syncing. That way unnecessary photos don't get uploaded and I don't end up deleting stuff by mistake.
I work in a continental belt factory, so I can't really wear my watch during hours. But I came home and immediately put on my Seiko Premier SSA245
Do you have Amazon Prime? If so, they allow you free unlimited photo uploads to their cloud-based storage service. I upload all raw images (usually overnight) after shoots and they're there in the morning. As long as it's any type of still image file, be it jpeg, tiff, or your camera's raw format, you can store it there.

I can relate, in my previous house I hade the tables in 4 different rooms so had to break them down after each event. I had folding chairs fur that reason. The chairs that I use now stack so can easily be stored and moved around (we’ve held charity house concerts in the poker room before) and also used the chairs as concert seating.
Here is the link to chairs in case you are interested and can upgrade in the future.

FWIW, here's a table I made almost 20 years ago, except for the legs its all left over oak flooring.
You can see how it failed--the table top boards curled enough to pull free from the runners, then cracked when I picked the table up by the edge. I didn't think to make it strong against upward force. Also, learned from that that gluing the groove edge of T&G to the ribbed underside makes for a a poor joint--should have ripped/grooved down to solid wood.
Good luck. I think it'll make a great workbench surface, as long as the oak figuring doesn't bother you.
I ran it through XTRAX STEMS and it missed a few words it seems. I doubt these would be of any use to you, but here's a zip file containing the estimated drums / music / vocals. Maybe it'll come to use in at least some way.
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/BlrYgTGBdqq4syCbKzEq97tuUjMKi6GvSpMPnw13r62
Correct me if I'm wrong, but that looks dodgy as fuck!
In this photo it looks as if there is absolutely nothing to stop the whole board rotating downwards, except for the friction those 10 saddles are giving.
And possibly the two screws going through the bottom of the hang board, the backing board, and then into the round horizontal bar. But that round bar is aluminium so those screws will probably last about 2.5 seconds before they strip.
I hope I'm wrong but that's what it looks like from the pics!
Edit: just noticed another person said almost the identical thing to me.
I found a pic of the poster I designed for that concert among my files on my cloud drive. I'm glad it was a good one!
Here are 2 music files you can use on your GW2 LaunchBuddy cinema mode. It comes with the Original Guild Wars 2 Intro Song, and the Super Adventure Box Intro Song. Both files are in .wav format. You can convert to mp3 if you wish, but figured I'd provide the best quality possible regardless.

It's always possible that it may start to look over processed but since its a digital file I would definitely try to enhance the pillars.
The other option is to focus more on them (crop or re frame of the picture?) Something like this maybe? https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/Qll37noignSoefz8wHUX3nUWvAnwC1sXsevLYCw8hDk?ref_=cd_ph_share_link_copy
My eyes are drawn to the disappearing road (diagonal lines draw the eyes) more then the pillars in your original image. I almost feel the Island/peninsula may have been a better subject with the haze/fog blurring out the farther land and possibly framing the shot so the pillars were going off the scene to the right in the foreground instead of being centered. I feel like there are a few things fighting for your attention in the image.
Something I overlooked when I was first viewing the image is the quality of the water texture (I noticed it more in my super awesome snipping tool crop =P) but it seems like you may have over sharpened the image a little or it may be the compression from flicker.
Overall you have a good eye for the picture but you just need to fine tune the execution (which is my biggest problem since getting back into photography from a 5 year hiatus).
Imgur isn't working right now for some reason but here is the best shot I currently have of the front sight. I tried taking it with the top receiver screws lined up but it was awkward with phone.
I'll try to take another one tonight but at least you might be able to see how the post leans to the right a bit in this one.
It's free if you have prime. Also in case anyone is wondering, raw files are included.
I've been looking into this myself. My primary concerns are: - price - encryption - possibility of automated incremental backups
So far the most likely candidate I've come across is Amazons new unlimited cloud storage plan https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/unlimited It costs $60/year and works with software like boxcryptor ($36/year) to encrypt data before it is uploaded. ~$100/year seems reasonable to me for unlimited storage.
Ok, so everything downloaded successfully, but IA keeps detecting a virus in one of the files (10853_file_f90f10f27b64bdb5827f069ec1d46cac.exe - analysis @ https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/4b9c642e42b405eb5ec6af776c1a1fb432a8223813fa7c1763a03023dbc17e26/analysis/1288163813/) so it darkens the whole item. Everything is available here while I work on getting stuff sorted with IA: https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/mnte3oghCS3MaMFNhCYXhWXFOUUKNZdojHmPnhYdL6z.
I rewrote your code in Java and built it as an APK. The API is from 11/04, the same as your driver station. The file is at https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/pTMyLAiLinSCpf3uTGwvPBKXQV3D2BAU4gEwdvSmUDJ?ref_=cd_ph_share_link_copy The code (minus the FtcOpModeRegister file) is at http://pastebin.com/sS7cvTEk
To sideload the .apk, use the manual method at http://www.greenbot.com/article/2452614/how-to-sideload-an-app-onto-your-android-phone-or-tablet.html
I got a set of low mileage 2014 Rubicon takeoffs (BFG Mud Terrain) with rims off Craigslist for $800. The rims REALLY change the look of the truck. Add the Rough Country 2'' budget lift and 1.5'' Spidertrax wheel spacers and you're good to go.
Did it all myself in about a day, don't forget to get an alignment afterwards.
Nice. I'm an alumn of 45 now working in Michigan. Really wish I had time to do mentoring at the local team (team rush) but basically all I am at the moment is a phone in mentor for 45 when they have problems.
Sweet car though, only thing I'm not sure I would replicate is the red vw badges, but the rest is sick as hell. This is the latest picture of my Jetta. She needs some work for sure :P She's a 2012 2.5 manual, and I can't wait to get a decent exhaust as that 2.5 absolutely screams when she's on power.
Hey guys,
Here is the second draft of the video. Changes made:
In the next version, I'm going to adjust the start point so it's a bit smoother.
Okay, I lied. I found some time tonight to put together the first draft of this.
I think it's pretty close to the final draft too. I don't think we should be trolls, so I didn't add the gifs in.
Questions:
Thanks!
Edit: Link blocked by MSNBC. Uploading a mirror now. If we decide to use this video, it can't be hosted on YouTube. Edit #2: Updated mirror link Edit #3: Here is the second draft. I managed to cut down to under 3 minutes total.
That sucks. American companies love overcharging Canadians. Try using a VPN with an American IP address to visit this link https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/home. It should be $5/mo for unlimited. After you purchase it, you should be able to use your real IP address without a problem.
I bought a copy of Windows 7 pro to install on a clients machine last week, Amazon included a 1-year subscription to their cloud storage service.
I didnt really have a reason to use it but I'm going to start moving everything I have in OneDrive to that new service starting right now!
Edit: Amazon's prices, they are not that bad, and you get unlimited photos if you already have prime

Here is a pic of her web What we thought was the coolest thing was the funnel shape of the web.
Cloud storage is so cheap now. Amazon cloud is unlimited storage for $60 a year. Possibly less than she spends on DVDs. But for any online transfer of large files, you will need a somewhat fast upload speed.
I know you might want something free but:
Have you had a look at google drive ... it's $1.99/month for 100 gb
https://www.google.com/settings/storage
or ... if you need a lot of storage ... Amazon cloud locker is like $60 / year ... for unlimited storage :)

Here's Mine - it's pretty easy, but I think it's got the classic feel:
Level Title: 50 Shades of Donut Plains
ID: A36B-0000-0040-7130
Description of Gameplay Elements: Standard SMW faire, modeled after the donut plains world. The level is pretty easy (it was designed for a couple of the non-hardcore players in my life), and I really think it captures the spirit of a Nintendo designed level - though I'd love some feedback if you disagree! There's a couple of hidden areas (4ish), so take a little bit of time.
Images / Video:
Also, if you're an Amazon Prime member, you get unlimited photo storage. Google Drive offers 15G free, or 100G for $1.99/mo, and Google Photos gives free unlimited storage of "High quality" images.
idk if you have to be an amazon prime member or not, but if you are, for about $60/year, you get unlimited storage on the cloud. I just started that a few months ago and I run it on my server a couple times a week to backup any new photos from the server to the cloud.
Everyone make sure you enter a photo for the contest for gift cards!
I hereby promise that if I win, I'll spend a shitload of money on RAOA, lol.
For your online backup, you could try https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/home
As for your budget on the drives and something to put them in, $500 probably isn't enough for 4tb of space.
You said you want triple redundancy in 1 enclosure, but I think this is not a good idea. I think it would be cheaper and better if you had a normal raid array of some sort for your primary storage, and possibly another normal array for the backup.
I am highly hesitant to suggest running any kind of important storage on proprietary software (windows). But if that is what you want, go for it.
I lent my Kindle to a friend, so I don't have the pin-point accuracy, but it goes like this.
TL;DR: the Send-to-Kindle won't upload the file that contain the number, while Upload via USB does.
Disclaimer: I'm no software/kindle/cailbre engineer. The information below is based on my experience.
When you use Email to function, it uploads a MOBI/AZW of that book to the My Send-to-Kindle Docs in your Amazon Cloud Drive account. Click on the link, sign in using your Amazon account that you use for your kindle (Not the @kindle.com one), and you'll know what I mean. The Kindle then fetches the SINGLE MOBI/AWZ file from this folder.
The problem is, the page number is stored not in the MOBI/AWZ file, but rather, in a separate APNX file (Again, I don't remember correctly the file type) , and the Send to Kindle feature won't upload this file. Transfer via USB cable, and Calibre will upload this APNX file for you, and voila, you have page number.
Hope this help :)
Well I got the Marmot 20f Mavericks Long bag today:
Here it is in it's included compression sack:
It just fits into the bottom bag/tent compartment in an older North Face ArchAngel 75l pack that I've borrrowed from a friend, you can see it behind the bag.

If you have Amazon Prime, you can upload unlimited photos. They have an iOS app (and I assume Android as well) that automatically uploads them, and you can upload them through their page too. You also get 5G free for videos (and other non-picture files).
From one of their help pages: " You can import up to 250 songs to your music library for free. With an Amazon Music subscription, you can import up to 250,000 songs. To learn more, go to Change Your Amazon Music Subscriptions. Amazon Digital Music purchases do not count towards library limits. "
I don't think it'll let you upload more unless you set it up first for a subscription, but that's just a guess since their Cloud Drive service will stop you from uploading too much.
You can check by going here: https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/manage Click "Listen to your music" -> Your Library (left side menu) -> imported (the submenu beneath that) -> Should show how many are currently there from your 250. Amazon keeps music separate from its cloud drive storage (5GB for free), so you shouldn't have to worry about the size itself, just the number of songs.
I think anything you get from Amazon doesn't count. I have 'autorip' music where Amazon will automatically 'rip' any CD you buy off Amazon and include it in the music library. That seems to not be counting toward my quota.
If you do tend to get music from someplace other than Amazon and need the 250k option, it looks like it's 25 USD per year to upgrade.
Always great to hear stories of not-as-tech-inclined folks figuring stuff out like this :)
Amazon Prime now has free unlimited photo backup:
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/primephotos
As with all things, having photos in one place is not a backup. They have a windows syncing app, which if you combine with some other backup service (Crashplan, for example), then she'll have a safe setup.
If she has a mac, I'd do the following: Pay for the size she needs on google drive. Install the google drive app on both her phone/ipad and laptop/desktop. Buy a large external hard drive for her laptop/desktop. Use os x Time Machine to automatically back up her whole computer, which after Google Drive is installed, will include all of her photos.
If she has a laptop, you may want to get a NAS to do this. Something cheap like a DNS-321 with Alt-F firmware in a RAID1 setup with two identical drives of whatever size she needs would work. Or just buy a Synology.
Personally, if she's computer illiterate, she doesn't deserve a NAS. Just tell her to set up Amazon Prime Photo. Should be good enough.
Hrm... this sucks. The uploader is apparently some adobe flash type thing.
They also seem to be blocking me from clicking the link to the uploader as well with a flash layover (I'm using Linux).
They probably don't want to support all the different linux distros/formats.
EDIT: Looks like we can use https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/ its actually a web app whereas the music uploader is some sort of desktop app.
Thanks for asking - here is the famous service dog "Rusty"! Here's a link to more pictures of our visit to Red Cliff Lodge where we met Kevin Costner, including Rusty.

Pretty amazing from 1/2 way around the planet from each other! Here is the horizontal view of my pic which shows the lower colors better...

Saw Kevin Costner in Moab, UT on 1/21/22 Red Cliff Lodge Moab, UT
Kevin, crew and Red Cliff Lodge staff were so nice! Excited to see if they film at Red Cliff Lodge. It is so beautiful there. We also saw Kevin and crew scouting out Sorrel River Lodge in Moab off I-128,
I did not try this but perhaps an alternative to downloading from [here](https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/bxv4nKw8H2xK8Fsu1s7GelkKVXkbhyd6XHGB1vokv8t), even though the .exe is "Verified" to be from Hewlett-Packard.
This link still has it here: https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/bxv4nKw8H2xK8Fsu1s7GelkKVXkbhyd6XHGB1vokv8t
When launching the executable it says signed by Hewlett-Packard, but the .exe linked above is on someone's personal Amazon Drive and not on the HP.com website.
