It was actually the only Index- specific stand I saw on there and only 10 reviews but I needed one so I'm glad that it ended up being pretty nice.
3d printable frunk fan stl file
I used tinkercad to mod the original file, (it took hours to do) it’s designed to suck air out of the headset using a Noctua NF-A4x10 5V, Premium Quiet Fan
The heat isn’t that bad but after a hour of playing it starts getting pretty warm, the fan should be really quiet and the lens cover will still go on to keep the appearance of a stock headset (I might have to add 4 small 3x3mm magnets to keep the cove gap big enough for airflow)
Edit I’m still waiting on the 5 volt noctua fan from Amazon, it should be here In 2 days I will update this post with temperature improvements and overall review.
Edit I got the noctua 5v fan installed and it works good, I can hear it running when I’m on steamvr home and there’s no background noise but in game I can’t hear it at all. The airflow is very gentle, I can only feel it on my eyeballs if I open them fully and lift the bottom of the hmd to increase the gap around my big nose. The hmd stays cooler, I feel like I can play for extended periods of time easily.
Edit I just played blades and sorcery for 40 minutes it still got hot and sweaty in the hmd, I’m hot sure if 2 fans would be better or just dry out your eyes? Maybe the best option is still a room fan, shorts, and no shirt lol
It is exactly that. Any C7/C8 cable will do just fine.
https://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-107671-18AWG-Polarized-IEC-320-C7/dp/B009GUZ654
Used -25ft - 1/2 inch Flexo PET Expandable Braided Sleeving – Black from Amazon...... (are links allowed?)
Remove cable from HMD completely.
Work the sleeving over the end that plugs into the HMD and start expanding it and sliding it over about 3" at a time down the cable, ever so often work the sleeving down the cable.
I used 3:1 3/4 heat shrink and slide it from the HMD plug down to the breakaway end. Hold and slightly twitch and pull to tighten the sleeving as you work it back towards the HMD plug. Doing this tightens the sleeving this is user preference as to how tight etc.
Cut off the end near the HMD plug rubber stopper I used scissor and poked through the sleeving using a razor knife is not advised as the sleeving is tough and cutting the cable would be easy if you slip. I used a lighter to melt the cut end of the sleeving carefully not to burn the cable then used some more heat shrink.
This is the exact one I bought, comes with pick n pluck foam. Although you'll also have to alter the second layer of foam which is not pick n pluck.
> Human eye can see in focus only 1-6° of its FOV
This might sound like a joke, but this is what VR LBEs do.

This is an example of one.
Prior to the wipes, I would gently clean the lens' with a brush like this one:
Matin Camera Lens Cleaner Brush - Goat Hair / Small https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004FPOVEM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_l3yaDbB011KB1
If you wipe grit into the lens it will cause scratches.
Source: I work as a tech at a glass R&D facility. My job is to create and then study scratches on many types of plastic and glass.
I run HL:A on my laptop. Similar specs, except for the RTX, it's a 2060, the biggest issue is making sure you can get the DP connection to work
Here's the one I use;

Here is a pic of my Index and a link to the amazon carbon fiber vinyl wrap I used.
I've read that using a compressed air on your lenses can put dust behind them instead of keeping them clean. I'm not sure it's a good thing to do. It is recommended to use the dry cloth included in the package.
How do you plan to install your base stations ? Drill holes ? There is an alternative if you want : using lightstands, for instance these tripod ones, or these glass ones.

Sure! I’m in UK so not sure about other countries.

You might wanna see what AMD does unless money is no concern, then sure, but really still I would wait.
Oh and its pretty easy to put in a cpu, I did it successfully with no help when I was 13, just make sure to use thermal paste.
A youtube video will do fine.
Not OP, but I use a LensPen for VR equipment.
https://www.amazon.com/LensPen-AR-Augmented-Microsoft-NLP-1-ARVR/dp/B07TCDS8JL
Granted I don't let it wallow for months and instead use it after every run or two. The microfiber cloth the Index comes with works as well.
Did the same, but with the circle shape so I just hold the controllers near the cable and they connect themselves (the cable jumps into place)!
I don't even touch the cable anymore. Crazy how easy and convenient this is.
Full fast/quick charging and data transfer. Woot, woot!!!
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Q3DQ923/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
If you're interested, just note you'll need to order two of these, one for each controller. Love it so much I also picked up one for the mobile phone.
This is a good point, bluetooth power management should be off when running multiple HMDs in the same space. As a result you will have to manually unplug the lighthouses at the end of your sessions. I use this to make it less tedious: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y1V7C1Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
OP, try this before my suggestion I posted.
So the object you see on the right is the backside of the LED RGB stick. I'd turn it around, but it's TOO bright- unless I maybe used a more opaque thicker white plastic. Right now I'm just testing it with a piece of plastic from a milk jug. The RGB color changing USB LED is here:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077XZQYB1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Anyone know of a smaller color-changing RGB LED USB kind of like a small Bluetooth sized dongle???
I can vouch for this, I use it on my eye glasses as well.

Be sure to remove any tiny particulates from the lenses, or you will scratch them!
If anyone needs a smaller run- I successfully extended my setup 6 feet using cheap cables off Amazon.
These are the exact cables I’m using:

For reference: AORUS RTX 2080 Waterforce
Going direct into the MOBO for the USB extender.
I have been running it this was for close to a month and have logged probably a day worth of playtime. I have not noticed any blips/artifacts or any visual/lag issues. It’s like the cables aren’t even there.
Ugh... You think hanging pictures is bad... My wife is really into those multiple canvas deco pieces. You have to align the image while setting a 1/2" gap between each. 2/10 would not marry again. lol.

It's really not too bad. Just takes a tape measure, line level and string, and about 15 minutes.

I had shitty USB 3 sockets on my motherboard so the Index controllers were not pairing correctly. Luckily I have an RTX graphics card with a USB C socket. I used this adapter and everything was hunky dory afterwards.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/AmazonBasics-Type-C-Gen1-Female-Adapter/dp/B01GGKYXVE
I'd still try to unscrew the speaker, the issue could be something as simple as the connectors being misaligned.
The speakers use a size 6 torque screw, you can buy a screw driver that size from Amazon for fairly cheap.
That's fair and understandable, but real customer data matters a lot more than impressions or reviews. It has 73% positive (out 7,800 reviews) on Steam and 4/5 stars (out of 2,700 reviews) on Amazon, the latter of which is almost identical to the Amazon review stats for the black Xbone controller and not far from the white one either. This suggests it's liked by the majority of people who decide to buy it, because unlike most "professional" games journalists, the people buying it are actual gamers who use it for more than a few hours.
The purpose of the controller's existence is to bring KBM games to the couch / living room. So after taking into account the generally positive feedback from users, the simplest explanation for why it hasn't been more commercially successful is that many PC gamers — I would guess the overwhelming majority — still play at their desks. Now some games absolutely require a controller regardless of whether you're at a desk or couch, but the nature of those games is such that they are already well-optimized for the Xbox controller, so buying a second controller has no value proposition for these cases.
these work great. there's cheaper versions, but you get what you pay for. i've been using these for years to clean optics and they've been consistently high quality.
So someone already pointed you in the direction of the mod. No need for a dimmable smart plug or fan. Just a standard plug and an oscillating fan with physical buttons and even multiple speeds if possible. I actually have 3 surrounding my play area at different speeds and aimed at different heights.

What the mod does is send a pulsing signal to the smart plug, so even if your fan is set to blow as hard as it can the mod with pulse the power to control the actual intensity of the wind. I would suggest you find the quietest fans you can as they can be heard through your index speakers, or at least mine are, and it can be a little immersion breaking. So getting it just right takes some tinkering but I really enjoy it.

The mod pairs nicely with Skyrim is Windy and Blowing in the Wind.

This is the plug I got . I can think you can get multiple if you like and if they're all named the same the mod will interact with all of them, but you may want to double check. I'm personally just using a couple extension cords with multi outlets to spread the fans around. I'd love to see a similar mod with a heater for when you get into close proximity to fire, but I'm not sure these little plugs could handle the power draw. Would be pretty cool though.

To be really clear, stay away from fans with remotes. You want a physical on off switch because any digital switch tends to stay off when power is cut in and out. And the mod literally turns the power on and off to get the effect.

Have fun!
This is pretty similar to what I homebrewed myself using a retractable clothesline box (like you see in hotel rooms sometimes), a few kiwi pulleys, and some 3d printed cable pulleys (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4745895).
Works really well, highly recommend. Here's the clothesline thinger I got (no affiliation, just including it in case anyone is interested): https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B075CK2W5S/
I chose this setup because it has the benefit of being super easy to stow away and make our living room look "normal" again, if we have guests over or something.
I personally use tripods like these, that way I don't have to do any drilling and can move them around if needed.
I use this mat

Simple and cool design that let's me reorient by feel ^
I also have VR cover covers that I interchange to stay hygienic
Kiwi Pulley System to reduce tangle and reduce wear as well as basically not feel the wire at all except very specific angles
Kiwi fan mod for Index, keeps headset cooler for its own health and for me
3D printed Valve Index controller boosters because ai have long fingers
Counterweight to reduce perceived weight and reduce strain on neck
I used velcro ties to keep my wire super secure and reduce chance of any damage done to it
I also always use a fan while playing VR
Software I use is
YUR for calorie tracking and gameplay time tracking as well as counting squats
OVR for more settings
Turn signal for simple untwist and orientation
FPS VR to monitor performance
Holoswitch to keep my phone visible even in VR
Nvidia Broadcast to keep non speaking noises like thumps, breaths, etc to a minimum and also improve mic quality
And I always have a bottle of water nearby
Nice, I have the same one. Link if anyone's interested.
I'll echo what a lot of people are saying here about the lighthouses, but I'm not sure why people are thinking the knuckles are overpriced?
A vive wand costs $129.99 on amazon, so around ~$260 for a pair, wheras the knuckles cost $279.00 for a pair, only $19.00 more, and absolutely destroy the vive wands in terms of technological capability--more than making up for the price difference imo. It really doesn't make sense.
HL:A has always been, since announcement, a smooth-locomotion capable game.
https://www.half-life.com/en/alyx/vr
Don't comment about the video if you don't watch it all the way through.
FYI: There's not a hint of spoilers.
Shout out to the lighthouse power management app on android that let's you turn the base stations on or put them to sleep from your phone.
Very useful if one doesn't go to sleep on its own (it happens to me sometimes) or to put them to sleep if you unplug them and then plug them back in.
Went with loratap wifi switch plugs myself. one remote controls two+ plugs so I can have one on each base station.
Very useful.
You have to go in the settings of SteamVR to turn them off when you're not using them. By default they stay on all the time. The alternative is turn them off with this Android app.. I have no idea if the app is on IOS.
I would very much recommend getting the light houses mounted on the wall or using this Support System. I found the tripods wobble the tiniest bit as you walk around and if you are sensitive this can be really nauseating. The supports I linked don't leave any marks and are much more stable. Plus they give you a little extra room compared to the tripods.
Edit: You will need these to mount the base stations on the support beams if you use them Clamps.
I can say from experience training many dogs in my lifetime; a bored puppy is a destructive puppy.
Dogs need stimulation both physical exercise and mental. Walking daily may be out of the question due to world events but I’d recommend getting some puppy puzzles like this one.
Plenty of toys to chew especially during teething periods are also fantastic. If you find your puppy going for cables then get toys that have similar thickness to it for familiarity.
All VR games on Steam can be played with the Index.
It can also be used for all games on Viveport.
You can even find games on sites like itch.io.
With ReVive you also have most of the Oculus library available.
Beyond stoked.. my mechpit has been dormant since 2017 and after years of anticipating MW5 with VR PGI Lucy'd the football. Of course being an MWO Founder I knew better than to preorder but the disappointment was still immense.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jeroen1602.lighthouse_pm
This will let you turn off the lighthouses if they're bugging you. If the noise they make is bothering you, try and change the channel they're running on.
I am jealous. I just sent one back to Amazon yesterday. I finally broke down because it was the only headset I had yet to try and bought one last week. Had to use my mother's facebook account, since she's the only one around me that still has one, and I couldn't do it.
The wireless latency is atrocious and the pixel latency is awful. Every time I turned, it was like my eyes needed a second to adjust. Was very sick in a short amount of time. I am hoping virtual desktop gives me a refund too as I didn't even use it for 4 hours.
Use this router for my home WiFi https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-RT-AX3000-802-11ax-Lifetime-Whole-Home/dp/B084BNH26P
Now I am currently sitting here twiddling my thumbs, debating on buying a Pimax 8KX. Just to give it a try. but $1400 price tag is tough pill to swallow with those terrible speakers.
I'm in Perth and my Index should be arriving any time between tomorrow and next Tuesday. I used Shopmate, and I've pasted my method from another similar thread from a few weeks back with a few minor edits, all using Google Chrome:
Note that Steam will only allow you to change your country/address once every couple of weeks, and you might have problems buying other things from Steam while your Steam address is the USA one.
Have you tried clearing your cookies? In Google Chrome, press <CTRL> h then select 'Clear Browsing Data" on the left of the screen, then try again.
Here's a guide to help you get it installed and started.
https://www.notion.so/beastsaber/VHVR-Valheim-VR-Mod-Guide-d71c3bb046004a049ab5786aaba10bb0
The game plays well solo, but it is fantastic if you have people to play with :)
I lost mine when I moved, but I was able to buy a set of these for the index mount replacements, and I haven't had any issues.
Just an FYI, the Index was released in July 2019. So there's no possible way you've had it for even 2 years(1yr and 11 months max). Let alone 3. lol
But, I bet you would be a good candidate for Index Knuckle Dusters.
Here is the cheaper 1.0 models that can be obtained on Amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/Valve-Index-Controller-Grips-Ergonomic/dp/B08SFPLJ84
There is a knuckles duster two and this is what I have. The only downside to them is they do make calibration slower. Sometimes I have to wait 2-3 minutes after startup before they will fully register all of my fingers. But, they really fit well in my hands and no amount of sweating causes issues. When I ordered mine and they took over a month to arrive.
https://betaform.shop/products/knuckles-duster-two-vr-controller-grip-index-kd2
Kiwi sells something similar, its what I plan to pick up.
Also, for Android:
Charge em when you don't use them... Seems simple enough. The knuckles are way more complicated controllers than anything by Oculus... It's far different tech, so the lifespan reflects those major differences.
If your sessions are long enough to kill the battery, then maybe you'd benefit from something like this: https://www.amazon.com/DeadEyeVR-Valve-Index-Mounted-Battery/dp/B08CY6PZWX (you could likely find a much cheaper solution with any small battery pack and wrist strap).
Ok that looks like it could work.
I found this on amazon:pack of 4 bobbins do these look ok to you?
So i'm guessing i would screw the male end into the base station itself, and the female end would screw into the "arm" of the mounting hardware that comes with the base station.
Does anyone know what size threads the basestations use? if it's m8 then the ones in the link should work.
A while back I saw the Chilldex when it was already too late to get one at the time, and I happened to have a few of these fans lying around from an old project, wired them up to USB and stuck them in the frunk with a little double-sided adhesive (stuff that's not too difficult to remove). I figured these tiny fans wouldn't do much, but to my amazement, the Index is actually ever so slightly cooler during gameplay! I *highly* recommend any Index owner do this mod if they live in a warmer climate or during the summer.

For anyone interested in the fans, here is a similar set: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RMGVBKL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It only requires very basic soldering knowledge to attach them to a USB plug, though I recommend planning the wiring runs a little better than I did for a better fit.
It also can get kind of noisy with the fans I chose, though they do move a lot of air for their size. I'm considering using an Ardunio or something and set up a small temperature sensor behind the front panel, so I can control the fans only turning them on as it warms up and only ramping them up if things get really toasty.
I'm an oculus guy who checks here for shipping info for my friend, but I'll link you the cheap answer I found on amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FW3GTXB/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's a little protector that wraps easily around the wire and keeps it from bunching up. It's very effective and you can choose a set length to get as well. I'd also check for some simple velcro strips or cord management ties for the rest of your wires on your comptuer just to keep everything organized.
bluetooth isn't going to make a noise, mate.
make sure the power option is not the one with quick resume, as that leaves the motors running but the lasers off.
go get an app like this one called audio tool and see what frequency the base station is emitting.
You had to do it, didn't you? Now, because of you, someone's going to come out with a "They Hunger" mod for the Index.

Why, man? Why'd you do it?

And ship everything ultra fast
Why so low?
Download an official Windows 10 ISO, put it on a USB drive with Rufus. Boot into the USB drive with the ISO to repair your Windows installation. If it is unable to repair you can just use that same ISO to reinstall Windows entirely. I have destroyed my boot partition or Windows itself many times, it's really not even worth mentioning or worrying about. You should always have a USB drive with Windows on it to repair or reinstall at times like this.
And no, your hardware is not damaged.
isn't the software provided by the makers of the LED screen? Why are you selling it?
Yep, it's free here https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/DrTdGYFxY3LEjGOUejoutTm3w9AbMRG0lj41q844dxr
edit: even though you removed the price, you are still breaking the law by renaming and redistributing it unless you have permission from the manufacturer
Here are my notes on setting up a Unity project for Git with LFS:
https://www.notion.so/ciwolsey/Unity-Git-Configuration-84c6970cc17c49ab91aab9272f83a8ba
If you're not a fan of the commandline most the git GUIs support LFS as well. Basically LFS just needs telling which file extensions should be stored using LFS - once that's done there's not really anything different from using git how you normally would.
Sure! Which part are you curious about?

Steering wheel is just an older logitech g27 setup.
The game is Assetto Corsa with the 992 GT3 mod.
PC is a Ryzen 3700x with Nvidia 3080.
yes. the signal path is too long and has too much loss in it when you use the switch.
the switch is cutting the signal enough that it plus the added dp cable from the pc to the switch is too long to work reliably.
you can try a displayport amp/repeater like this. you will likely need another short male to male displayport cable as well.
try it between the switch and the index. if this doesn't work, try it between the computer and the switch.
if that doesn't work, your switch isn't ever going to work in this situation.
this falls under the ”cable extension” category.
i explain a bit about why displayport is difficult to extend for vr over here
I bought this cable and it appears to be working just fine. Got to plug the ac adapter in at the connecting point unless you find an extension for that too
https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-Extension-DisplayPort-Black/dp/B08F827M3G
If your looking for a cable adapter I would recommend this one https://www.amazon.com/Club-3D-DisplayPort-Extension-Male-Female-CAC-1121-1m/dp/B07ZPCF4CH I've had it for a while now and I haven't noticed any problems even at 144 hz
Same, except I use these switches on my outlets. Been doing it for years with no issues. Since I only use VR like once a month, it's better than keeping them in sleep mode all the time.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YSNGGYR/
Have had these for a few months and recommend them to anyone with an Index. Comes in a pair of two so you will have one you can use while the second is in the laundry.
you can try something like this split flexible conduit. it's tough, but kittah teef are nanopoints. it should give you a bit of time to react.
as i have not tried it for this exact use, i can't guarantee success... but i think it's about the best you are going to get as regular sleeves don't protect against puncturing, just abrasion.
i am not sure if you want to get the 1/4” and have it tighter to the index's cable, or the 1/2” so your cat really has to open up and try. either way, the stuff is pretty light.
You need an adaptor. People have had success with this specific one:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07F17ZHJY
Forewarning though. It can vary on a laptop by laptop basis and id not a guaranteed solution. There's a reason Valve stipulates it needs an actual displayport.
Also do not try a HDMI to displayport adaptor (as some people try that as an alternative). That wont work at all.
I believe these are those ceiling cables you mentioned, and yes I definitely recommend them. I use them for my setup and it's so much better than dragging a cable on the floor. Although, you want be able to spin forever, since the cables will still get twisted, but you won't trip yourself by spinning so it's still a huge improvement. The space is definitely big enough, 3 basestations would definitely be best, but you could get away with 2. Other than that I think your good.
And just to let you know, Vive is announcing a couple of headsets in may, so if you haven't already purchased your index, I'd say keep an eye out for a new release just in case. And maybe once the Deca Air comes out, you could see if it's compatible with whatever headset you get. (Deca Air is an upcoming wireless adapter for an upcoming headset called the DecaGear 1) For the time being though, what you have planned is about as good as it gets.
3 vive trackers either the 2.0 or 3.0 versions work. (1 for each leg and 1 on your hip) new devices are compatible with old base stations 1.0 but old devices are not compatible with new base stations. It's confusing but as long as you have the 2.0 base stations that come with the index you should be fine picking either the vive 2.0s or 3.0s or tundra trackers but those are a crowdfunding so we won't see tundra trackers in the market for now.
you also need the straps to put them on your body, I recommend these cheapo straps since they work just fine and they don't cost as much as other popular brands. (Note: I have the most expensive battery straps and I still preferred the cheap straps over the more expensive ones)
You also need 3 available USB ports or a USB hub only dedicated to the 3 receivers you'll need to plug.
Also, this tutorial is very helpful because connecting the Vive trackers was a pain.
I found doing the triangle setup with the Kiwi Pro series and attaching the cable directly above me, with zero slack in the cable, really makes it nice. I can spin in a circle and not get tangled(use FpsVR or turn single to untwist cable), I can flail my arms all around and not hit it, and because it has so much range and the pulleys are so nice I cannot tell it's there.
This setup is what allowed me to use the Index more so than my wireless Vive Pro. I can move 2m in any direction and don't feel the cable pulling until around 1.5 meters. So a 3m x 3m play space is doable without noticing the cable at all.
I use these. I went with white because they match my ceiling better and it comes with everything needed to do the triangular setup. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VLMW6X6
And this video is what gave me the idea. he explains it in detail. https://youtu.be/H53QmxZ-rOs
I have used a ton of different pulleys and so far, the pro version Kiwi are the best. I went with the white so they would blend in with my ceiling better and love them. They are so much more quiet so much easier to use with the cable strap vs the rubber o-rings. I can't even tell the pulleys are there anymore
The extra $10 is absolutely worth it. They also include an O-Ring so you can so a trianguler setup and I highly recommend it. I can now go 2.5m in any direction before I can feel even the slightest tug on the cable. Watch this video for instructions on it.
Your link isn't working for me, but a splitter is just for sending the same signal to two devices. For your purposes you'd need a switch like this one.
I got camera-lighting stands from amazon. They are on a tripod and stable as they can be, can be adjusted for height and you do not need to drill holes for em.
Edit: i got those https://www.amazon.de/dp/B074VMTP68/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_scy-FbV1ZT8WV
Bought mine on the german amazon but its sold by many dealers. From China its even cheaper but than you have to wait and pray.
The link below should have the right Model. My housing had round edges and the measurements should be 93 x 30 x 6 mm with 44 x 11.

With housing its to wide, so it barely fits.
I don't think any of those would fit.

Electrical tape. Permanent marker. there are also wireless plus switches on amazon.
I bought a mesh cord protector that makes the cable less easy to bend. Also makes it slightly springy, easier to avoid stepping on it - and easy to see where it starts to get tangled.
Takes a few minutes to install, secure at both ends and cut to length but makes me feel like I'm much less likely to damage the cable.
I don't think a ups is really necessary for charging the controllers, but I have a ups on my PC
I don't keep my index plugged in all the time though.
I use one of these for the non essential things. Really all that matters it that it's good enough quality to stop a power surge.

I started wearing this with the HMD
It's night and day difference when it comes to sweat. This does more for me than my chilldex

I use these on the lenses every day before I use the headset. Over time microfiber cloths will collect too much dust and end up scratching the lenses and just smearing stuff around. These babies keep my lenses crystal clear!
It can cause serious damage. Best practice would be put it into a dark dry place or cover the lenses with the included wipe while not in use and never leave it in the sun.
Some people buy 3d printed cover plates. https://www.amazon.com/Valve-Index-Lens-Cover-Protector/dp/B088P33MBD?ref_=d6k_applink_bb_marketplace
Just let me put this here: https://pi-hole.net/
Advertisers can't display ads if you can't resolve their source address.....
We don't need VR specific blockers, we need wide adoption of broad spectrum solutions.
If you build and use Spigot, with the Vivecraft MP Plugin, others will be able to see you, complete with tracked arms and head.
Okay thanks, I thought I was going mad for a moment. This presentation has some interesting slides towards the end that go over the rendering path the Nvidia developed. Shows single pass rendering and some of their other tricks to improve rendering times and limit the effects of needing to do image warping.
Same in France. GLS ? No thanks > https://www.trustpilot.com/review/gls-group.de 1/5stars on trustpilot. WTF Steam ? At least let me put in an extra 10 or 20€ to get a decent delivery service.
I wholeheartedly second Skyrim VR with mods. I've spent the last month creating the perfect modlist for myself, and I am also using and tweaking an ENB preset called Scenery ENB (which basically provides you with a graphical overhaul that can be taxing on your system, but it's what you see those modders using on GTA V to make it look photo realistic).
The experience of modding and customizing the game is actually really enjoyable, I've had a ton of fun scouring nexusmods.com for the very best mods that make Skyrim feel like a whole new game in VR. It also looks amazing now, like a proper game from 2021 thanks to my 3080.
I am actually enjoying playing Skyrim VR, a game I've played twice before in pancake, way more than I have enjoyed any other VR games, yes, including Alyx (which I loved). There's just something incredible about Skyrim's huge world, characters, and stories. There are so many dungeons, so many random encounters and emergent gameplay opportunities... it's staggering.
Right now I'm playing as an archer, so I've got some pretty awesome archery mods installed to improve the gameplay experience. I've also got a mod that allows me to bring along several followers, so I've got a merry band of characters who keep me company and support me in fights (I play on the hardest difficulty to keep things interesting). And I've got over 100 total mods that do everything from improving the draw distance to tons of small quality of life improvements.
If you've got the rig and are into the idea of modding a game, don't sleep on Skyrim VR.
The correct question is: "Is there a Yu GI Oh VR Game". We don't gatekeep based on system, even here :P
But yes there is, but I haven't tried it.

I have a degree in computer science. My advising professor was a top phd in ai. We coded expert systems for medical applications. I won awards from sun microsystems for early code with java in the 90s. I worked many years at ibm and worked on risc systems and the os/2 warp team. Programmed big iron while there and worked in the as400 group. Recently won a vr coding competition with Mitch williams, formerly of otoy. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.reddit.com/r/Vive/comments/37570k/winner_vr_hackathon_mitch_williams_and_william/

I had a long talk with Joe ludwig about Tay AI at this meeting discussing openxr. He discussed jpeg standards at length during that meeting.
So I think I know a little about programming, however I haven't done any serious coding for money in years. I always deferred to my friend geekmaster who was the most brilliant programmer I ever knew. High minded aspergers, he was operating on a different level than most nuerotypical humans.
>It seems like it would be trivial for Oculus to release an emulator to allow all mobile VR device software to run on a PC connected device, and I am pretty surpised that it isn't already a thing.
I am still in shock decades later powerpc and os2 lost to cisc and bill gates. IBM fell from the inside, too many cooks, like I advised my padawan palmy would happen to Facebook vr. Iribe is gone, Forsyth too, so maybe they can focus better now ;)
When I bought my Index the same thing happened haha. Anyways I used this until I got the original and it worked perfectly.
I have them standing on the corners of my room on this light stands
usually, my roomba doesn't enter the vr room... but the door was not locked this once... and it managed to drag one down and actually finish cleaning the apartment... very annoying, but funny at the same time thinking about it, just a robot breaking things on it's own...
glad the lighthouse still works.
you have a bar you can slide on the lower right of the dashboard IN vr so you can set the mics volume.
Or you can buy mic muffs https://www.amazon.com/eBoot-Microphone-Windscreen-Lavalier-Microphones/dp/B01E4ZMTEG/
or just tape a piece of cotton or cloth to the mics.
Not 6800xt related tips, but be really careful when you clean the lenses. There is tape poking out around my right lens now.
I know enough to avoid using fluids to clean it, but I thought I would be safe cleaning them with a microfiber cloth. I guess I got too close to the gaskets at the edges of lenses.
I would get something like this if I were to do it again:
TEZONG Retractable Lens Pen Brush Dust Cleaner for DSLR Cameras and Sensitive Electronics,Optics Cleaning Tool 2Pack https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07QRQRB63/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_AQZG7GTEF612C3Z2MTJZ

My solution: support rods & clamp mounts
Easy setup / take down, with no damage to the walls. Yes, it does mean I have "safety orange" construction support rods in my living room... but it seems to blend nicely with my "decor".
I really like it. I got this one
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YSNGGYR/
It comes in a two pack, it's quick and easy to replace the cover and It's nice to be able to swap it out if it gets sweaty, especially if you're changing players. It's kind of gross putting on a headset that someone else was sweating on.
I have this one in white.
https://www.amazon.com/KIWI-design-Management-Retractable-Accessories/dp/B07VQZYN3M
Installation is just a few tiny holes in the ceiling and the pullies are barely noticeable when the headset isn't attached, and it only takes about 30 seconds to connect the headset to the pullies. It was a huge improvement for me, I was constantly getting wrapped up in the cable before I put those in.
Plenty of ways to measure it at home to give you an idea at least. Most recommend a ruler and a mirror.
One thing I haven't seen suggested but worked well for me was one of these infront of a mirror lol I just happened to have one for my 3d printing.
