The combat mechanics are very different, more Dark Souls-esque. Huge world, lots of detail, lots of different weapons. Cool assassin. I wrote a blog about it here if you wanna read.
If you think the idea of smashing through 90 bajillion enemies using progressively bigger weapons and explosions and picking up 90 bajillion pieces of loot sounds boring, this is not the series for you. Personally, I loved Torchlight II (the sequel) and would put it in my top 10 games.
I found it so satisfying to beat things to a pulp with a giant hammer (engineer is my class of choice), especially knocking down enemies with big fire earthquake strikes. I think the melee combat in TL has a great "weight" to it. I also love sorting through piles of loot.
Yes, the "gameplay loop" is find weapon, smash enemy, find better weapon, smash more enemies, find better weapons... but I had a great time doing that and didn't find it boringfor almost 100 hours. It's sort of addicting--I used to find myself playing way too many hours in a sitting.
However, I tried to go back and try Torchlight after beating Torchlight II and I couldn't quite get into it. 2 has QOL improvements that made 1 seem a bit dated, although the combat is similar, so I'm sure Torchlight is still great fun. I can vouch for Torchlight II though, which is also on sale on GMG right now: $4.00 / 80% off

If you ask me it's less about the 30% cut and more about having complete control of an ecosystem. If Bethesda truly cared about maximizing revenue then you wouldn't see Fallout 76 being sold on sites like GMG right now. That's not the point. The extra 20 dollars per sale is icing on the cake but real value comes from all the user data they're free to collect. Your personal information; that's what these companies want more than anything else and Steam doesn't provide enough to satiate them. That's the truly startling part of this trend and that's why I'm strongly against every AAA publisher forcing their own launcher. The inconvenience factor is bad enough but this is just ugh

GreenManGaming sells legit keys of some publishers but not all. There is a reason GMG was removed from both istherenaydeal.com and /r/GameDeals.
For instance they are not official SEGA partners, yet they are selling games like Warhammer.

There is easily hundreds of hours of PVE content you can do completely solo, all dialogue is voiced and feels just as professional as the main games' dialogue.

You're partially correct. Since the Witcher 3 incident, they released news stating they'll be showing where they get their keys for particular games. For example, on their Ghost Recon Wildlands page, they state the source as "Ubisoft", but on their Witcher 3 page, the source is "Authorised Distributor", so they didn't get it direct from the publisher. They may have bought it from an authorized reseller in a country that has cheaper prices, which is why they can sell it cheap but still make a profit.

[most] of the keys Greenmangaming sells are received directly from the game's publisher, whereas G2A is a grey market and random people sell keys which may or may not be legitimate.
Greenmangaming will list if they received their keys from the publisher directly or if they came from an "authorized distributor". For example Nier Automata is keys straight from Square Enix whereas Mass Effect Andromeda is from an "authorized distributor".

Wrong. Mass Effect Andromeda is $47.99 on greenmangaming.com, and they're a legit site (not a key re-seller). Pretty much every AAA PC title sells for $48 at launch there. You might be able to buy it at less than $60 at launch on console, but games are consistently cheaper on PC.

It isn't so much only use Steam and GOG. It is that you need to use legitimate key resellers and avoid marketplaces like G2A and Kinguin.
G2A peddles stolen keys. If money is tight try sites like greenmangaming or use steam sales. Browse /r/GameDeals. Don't chase the newest releases as much.
Heck, even pirating the games is better than buying from G2A. If you pirate the game they lose out on a sale. If you buy from G2A, they lose out on a sale, they get hit with a chargeback fee actually putting them at negative money for your purchase, and you gave money to someone else to do this to them. You paid someone to steal a game for you.
Those marketplaces are all hives of fraud.

The best way to play Hitman (2016) is to buy it and then grab the Hitman 2 (2018) Starter Pack which will let you play all of Hitman with the upgrades of Hitman 2, and have your unlocks and progress carry over to the Hitman 2 (2018) campaign if/when you get that.
IO have also said they're working out a solution for Steam content and progress to migrate to Hitman 3 despite the Epic exclusivity. While I'm not a fan of Epic or exclusivity deals, I support whatever was necessary to get Hitman 3 made. Despite being fantastic games, each game in this trilogy has had a different publisher so it's.. clearly been a bit rocky.
Edit: Hitman 2 (2018) Standard and Gold editions are on sale at GMG right now for 76% off. The unfortunate issue of being a different publisher means they're not included in the IO sale.
In case anyone is wondering what Star Citizen (SC) is, I (someone who didn't buy any part of SC) will explain it:
It's a crowd funded game about being a space ship pilot. You can fly around, have different ships, get out and do stuff, shoot people. Its a gigantic sandbox MMO. Or it would be if it hadn't been kickstarted in 2013 for $2 million (total cumulative funding is $300 million) and have relatively little to show for it.
It's rife with controversy because they got/get most of their funding by selling in game space ships that are not implemented and may never be implemented for ludicrous prices.

Prey is also worth considering. It's only 7,97 € right now (you have to login and add it to the cart to see this price). The main game doesn't support VR, but the DLC "Mooncrash" will receive 2 free VR game mode updates called Typhon Hunter and Transtar VR later this year. So you would have to buy the main game and the DLC (15,99 € on GMG, but you can get it for ~13 € on other sites) to get the VR game modes.
You have multiple choices:
- Buy them a gift card on Steam. This way, you can transfer funds to their Steam Wallet balance and they can buy the game themselves.

Actually, GreenManGaming is fairly cheap and it is a legitimate key shop. No grey-market shady dealing with them.
Granted their current price doesn't beat the sale price right now, but it's still better than nothing.

Buying Endwalker unlocks the previous expansions 'when Endwalker launches'. You need to either buy the Starter Edition or Complete Edition first though before you can use an Endwalker key.

The Tau have an aesthetic completely distinct from the rest of their franchise. Mostly because they actually look conventionally sci-fi.
To add to it, Bloodlines 2 has seen three writers in the last year. That speaks to mismanagement and a lack of vision in the developer. Nothing to do with Epic.

You get a code to use on the Intel website if you buy a Gold or Silver game. Thats where the VR games come from and not GMG. It's separate from the Gold/Silver list of game rewards. Once you redeem it Intel gives you a code to redeem on GMG which then gives you Steam codes for Raw Data and Star Trek Bridge Crew. And yes it is a Steam code for Star Trek not a uPlay code

Kingdom Come Deliverance is on sale at GMG for $24. I've only gotten an hour or so into it but it's a pretty neat game.

Once you are Level 10 you can PVP all the way to the end game/BIS gear and never have to PVE once.
Also the PVP is quite nice and depends a lot on composition, builds, resistances and so on.

You can also buy the season pass or gold edition for about $10 more to get all the DLC, but from what I've read you need to get much deeper into the game before you can even make use of it. So I'll just buy it later if I decide to keep playing.
