So the two big ones are HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, those are the only two consumer VR headsets that really shine right now. Rift is having a crazy summer sale right now, $400 on Amazon, which gets you the headset, camera sensors, and hand controllers.
Personally, I have the HTC Vive due to some issues I have with Oculus's business platform. Namely, they're owned by Facebook and are trying to pull a console-esque exclusive games deal.
But, personal qualms aside, I can't really recommend the Vive for $800 over the Rift for $400. Especially if you're playing seat games like flight simulators, that's the much much better option right now.
I'm super into VR so any questions feel free to ask away.
There is a 7 day free trial you can do to see if it is for you. I enjoy my time with it immensely.

The negatives are just that there is a bit of a learning curve for the equipment upgrade system, and that leveling up is based on "grinding", but in my opinion they handled it well and the combat system makes it very engaging. It is streamed regularly on Twitch, with summit1g recently getting pretty heavy into it.
There are also people on Steam that complained about the anti-cheat system that the client uses, calling it invasive...but I never have an issue with it.
Give the trial a shot. If you like it the game is like $10 with no monthly sub.
For some reason I made a playable version, here at Kongregate
With high-scores!
Edit: Added music - press up or down keys to change volume.
Borderlands the handsome collection(Borderlands2+DLC , Pre Sequel) 3$ on https://www.greenmangaming.com/games/borderlands-the-handsome-collection-bundle-pc/ .
"Portal: Still Alive" also has 3D versions of some of the levels from Portal: The Flash Version (the level you fell through is one of them)
Someone made a port of the maps for PC if anyone would like to try them out: https://www.moddb.com/mods/portal-still-alive-pc
Yes! However, the video is from a PC remake currently in development for Steam Early Access. The PC version will bring new game modes (including multiplayer), and refined levels, mechanics, controls, etc. Aiming for release in the next few months!
BeamNG? You can pretty much treat it as a rally game. I haven't looked at it in a while but im pretty sure check pointing is in so you could totally stage out courses in the map editor, and the modding scene is pretty healthy
There's a demo too http://www.beamng.com/
Well besides the fact that you can make a much larger resolution gif instead of reducing the size a large amount, I meant uploading the original export straight to gfycat.
> If you like active updates to the games you play that make them even better, buy it.
Wow, I've been checking the wiki changelog, which hasn't been updated since last September, so for some reason I thought development was dead. Downloading an updated version now.
Edit: turns out the version history is accurate, and the latest version is 0.3.0.5, released in September 2013. Development is by no means dead though, as shown in the dev blog, they're just working on a big release.
Try putting words before the question mark, it makes it easier to answer the question. Here is one of many sources that say we've been killing each other for a long time.
http://www.ancient.eu/war/ "The simple bow was in use in Mesopotamia as early as 10,000 BCE and cemeteries from northern Mesopotamia to Egypt attest to early warfare on a fairly significant scale."
Well it was a few days ago because there was a sale on the game. I recommend waiting for premium edition when it goes to $20-30. I got mine at $20 for PC at gamestop.com but use this to see if it goes down in price. http://isthereanydeal.com/#/search:battlefield%204;/scroll:%23gamelist

I believe it's a private mod from "defib" on the forum. He said in this thread that he converted it from somewhere else. Don't think OP actually made this post.
After looking at the gameplay I'm thinking: touch left to turn left, touch right to turn right, touch both to brake. I hope that maintains the chaotic fun of this game though.
Is there a subreddit we can use to follow development?
Edit: I remember Flail Rider which had a similar isometric view but very different gameplay. You could use that for inspiration.
AFAIK this is a standard, and is widespread through both native C libraries and libraries written by other people. I actually didn't know why this is, so I looked it up. It looks like the reasons for this are mostly historical, in the early days of C there were no function prototypes, and a char type would be promoted to int. Here's a StackOverflow answer I found on the topic. This seems to be about passing arguments to a function, but I would imagine that the return type has similar origins. If anyone else knows where to find more info on this that would be great.
I would say so! It's very heavy on the hardware, and even then isn't entirely optimized. The world isn't randomly generated, so you'll be dealing with the same terrain each time, but the items are randomly placed, other than a few in very specific locations.
Edit: I'd also like to add the devs are very transparent on their development cycle! Dev: https://trello.com/b/yxoJrFgP/subnautica-development Roadmap: https://trello.com/b/KbugnSRJ/subnautica-roadmap
Imagine a situation:
Criminal steals credit card information. Uses it to purchase a bunch of game keys. G2A helps him sell those keys for a cut. Credit card owner notices charges on his card and gets his bank involved, who does chargeback. This means that the developer not only not gets the money, but also gets to pay a chargeback fine (which is why most chargebacks also get you banned). In the end, you just paid a criminal to make developer loose money.
So, by now you are wondering why the developer doesnt disable stolen keys. Well, they tried. Got met with unanimous backlash from the gaming community.
A more indepth article if you can stomach clicking Kotaku link.

Google Cloud requires a credit card, as does AWS and Azure. Linode isn't free. Running a VPN yourself is also a great way to fuck up and miss something and expose yourself also.
Not to mention you'll be the only one using that VPN making it even more obvious that its you.
You're better off just paying Mullvad the $5/m and not thinking about it. Running a VPN is less fun than it sounds. I used to run one.
Wolfire Games' Overgrowth (website | cool-ass dev vlogs) has really advanced combat and physics technology, even though it's still in alpha. You can try it out if you preorder, but it's certainly far from done.
You can preorder SUPERHOT here, although that won't give you access to the backer exclusive beta releases.
Moreover, this scene hasn't even been released in any way yet.
I loved Tekkit! Factorio is basically like someone took Tekkit and said, what if we made just this into a standalone game. If you liked Tekkit I'd 100% recommend Factorio. There's a demo if you want to check it out!
Also, I like your username, almost made my reddit username parabola_of_mystery lmao
They added a 3rd person mode among many, many other things since release. What the player did right then was summon their ship to their location which as I recall, wasn't available at release.
Here's the update log for you to quickly skim. The important ones are the named updates that have the picture backgrounds.
Note: it only works on Nvidia graphics cards, obviously. It's currently extremely limited in functionality (basically hard-programmed in with most of the functionality shown in the video, and no more), but this is a temporary pre-release until the full final version is released by Nvidia.
Here's a MEGA mirror in case the thread is deleted or the download becomes unavailable for whatever reason.
Hey man, I know I'm a day or two late, but Dishonoured 2 actually is on sale for $35 over on Amazon. Black Friday deals and whatnot.
I just bought one on Amazon. Free shipping, not even an add-on item. I had to get one when I was diagnosing components after I shorted out a motherboard (forgot to turn off PSU). Really handy for troubleshooting.
The mobile version has a free demo mode (first 10 levels are free to play), and the rest of the game can be unlocked for about $1. However, this video is from the PC remake that is currently in development for Steam Early Access. The remake will feature overhauled levels, new game modes (such as multiplayer), and many other refinements (better controls!). Aiming for release in the coming months.
Android app. Here's a video showing app on left and full game player on right. Matchmaking is done globally.
Get the Steam Link app and you can play games on your phone that are running on your PC. Works pretty well for the right games.

Not sure, but i assume its possible on PC, interestingly, just googled the game name and got this posted 8 minutes ago http://www.gamespot.com/articles/watch-dogs-mod-adds-dynamic-shadows-from-headlights-bloom-and-other-improvements/1100-6420498/
Everybody is saying yes and I agree but if you do end up deciding to get it, make sure you get the Premium Edition of the game not just the base game. I've regularly found it for like $20 and it includes all the DLC.
The game is called /r/AirBrawl. Its and arcade dogfighter with crazy weapons.
It went into alpha with a big update yesterday. Here are the downloads

Overall I think double jumps are a nice addition to a platformer, its fun doing it in games. If you are curious about the game in the video its here
Well as I have mentioned what support you are taking to jump actually but its fun doing it in games, If you are curious about the game its here Rodha

check out flashpoint! its archived over 90,000 games and more are still being added. the regular download is about 2gb, only downloading a game when you first play it
They do a LOT of visual tricks with shaders. It's still only represented in 2D.
Look at this video (just the very beginning). Watch when they fall into the water. See all of that "mist"? It's hiding the fact they're clipping through the top layer of "waves". When the camera goes underwater, look at the surface of the water - it's completely flat.
Sometimes, things will leave "indents" or cause waves in the water. This is a 2D texture being applied dynamically that looks like a black and white image, but the colors get translated to different heights for the water.
Here's an interesting paper on it, where you can see what I'm talking about: https://www.semanticscholar.org/paper/A-Convolution-Based-Algorithm-for-Animated-Water-Loviscach/1debe0431392009e3530e2f3e5642790c69228de
As for u/Alberiman's response, they are correct: doing real water physics requires a LOT of processing power. We've actually come quite far with this in recent years (not requiring a "super computer", but definitely a very high end computer) but it's nowhere near ready for games that require semi-realistic processing.
Mullvad is my personal suggestion. It will keep you safe if used correctly. They're not bulletproof but for Torrenting they're as good as it gets.
Anyone who says a Seedbox is better for privacy is a moron. They take a lot of info about you when you order one. VPN providers like Mullvad don't even use a login.
So basically the way the hero was falling was just so funny I ended up making it a feature people are not waiting for!
The game took around 2 years of spare time to finish and im very proud of the final result! Code was 100% made by me!
To download it simply search for "Cowardly Heroes" on the Play Store or follow this link, all feedback is appreciated!
add the following into commandline:
-availablevidmem 2.0
replace the 2 with however many GB of video memory you want the game to use.
This and more can be found on a great pcgamingwiki
Fair enough. Give Reddit Sync a go: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.laurencedawson.reddit_sync&hl=en_GB
It's really a much more pleasant experience for browsing reddit on a phone. Personally I use the dark (night) theme, and the smaller cards layout.
Damn. Made it to 158k over the course of 337 years before crashing. The rules state that the game ends when either a planet crashes into another one or the barrier, however I've yet to crash 2 planets together. I always lose when one hits the barrier, and I swear there have been times when it looks like 2 planets hit each other.
Oh well. Still fun.
http://www.stefanom.org/spc/?view=1287185 (takes a while, recommend fast fowarding)
edit: Well screw my previous score. Made it to 759k in 34 years.
edit 2: I won!
I'm afraid I'll have to contradict your last sentence there - http://www.beamng.com/blogs/ shows they're still indeed in development. They haven't been quick on updates, but they've made some substantial progress since that two-year-old video. There's also strong community support, so there's plenty of content to play around with in between updates.
Check their website, rather than steam, for a better idea of the current and future state of the project.
Actually reminds me of a small old game me and some friends used to play called Generally. It's free to download at their website.

I play with Resource Spawner Overhaul, which causes resources to spawn MUCH further from your base, while you only start with a relatively small patch. This allows you to get a factory up and running, but in order to expand you'll have to run some railroads in order to get the far away patches.
Factorio also has a demo if you want to try it out!
Great point about the angled cable. I should’ve mentioned that I also got this adapter to get the 90 degree angle, way better. It charges and everything with this adapter + the cable linked above.
The game is called CatchE and you can download it from the Google Play Store here!
The game lets you do flips and throws. A simulation shows you what to do before every level. The score is based on how close your move matches the simulation.
Please be careful when playing with your cellphone. Make sure that you do not put yourself and others at risk. Also, we recommend that you play above a soft surface as to not damage the phone. It's a great game to play outside at the park.
There are some bugs left in the game, so we would really like to have your help and point them out to us. Tell us what you like and don't like about the game.
If you like the game, please mention it to a friend, leave a good review or share it online.
I hope you have fun throwing your phone around!

..Available in the Google Play store now, as I've just discovered! (Haven't tried it yet, but reviews look positive.)
I use AirVPN. They have hundreds of servers around the world. I don't have any major complaints, and they support both desktop and mobile.
I do recommend that you do your homework, though, as not all VPN services are alike. Check out the following subreddits:

There's also this, much cheaper than the vive or oculus but just as good honestly.
There is. It's a port of the ps2 spiderman that allows you to swing through the city. I think it was ported by Gameloft.
It's kind of expensive and I don't remember the ps2 game being very good. It was incredibly repetitive and shallow.
But you could swing around the city like spiderman which was so much fun. I think this is it.

The game is called Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege, inspired by the novel released in the 90s, though they don't share characters or settings.
Actually i think i found it. The thing is i remember there being more. Lol i cant believe i thought they were alternate universe cyclops
When you die you can revive by putting your pieces back together, and when you do, the resulting shockwave deals damage to everything it touches, the further the pieces separate, the larger the wave gets. So you can actually die strategically in this game. Also, dat meteor rain attack.
[Edit] In case someone wants to cause some serious destruction, here are the links to the game, free for both PC and android:
