This is actually false, and i quote from the PRE-ORDER PAGE ''20 Weekly Items with Airlift-Get 20 weekly Airlifts, each containing one customization item.'' Source: https://www.battlefield.com/buy/battlefield-5
Keep in mind folks, BF4/BFH will be getting a UI redesign when BF1 comes out so the old days of launching from a web browser will be coming to a close. Everything will be done in-game from now on (similar to how the console versions work).
Edit: Details on New Features
From EA:
>This will also be released with Battlefield 1 (and Battlefield Hardline soon after that). Once it's rolled out for all three games, you'll be able to easily swap between the games as long as you own them. Want to jump from St. Quentin Scar in Battlefield 1 to the skyscrapers of Shanghai in Battlefield 4? It'll be easier than ever.
so tentative release date for UI is roughly along with BF1 given this new cross-game feature.
>Says game will not have X.
>People rejoice and buy game.
>EA waits a while and then when sales slow down, insert X anyway.
>Laugh at the suckers who believed them.
Don't even have to wait, lootboxes are already in the game and people are buying the misleading marketing spiel hook, line and sinker; the same as always.
>Battlefield V - Deluxe Edition
>20 WEEKLY ITEMS WITH AIRLIFT - Get 20 weekly Airlifts, each containing one customization item.
From the website:
>The Reveal Trailer is a good example of this, as it depicts the frantic fights in Northern France in an unexpected time period, early in the war. You’ll experience iconic WW2 elements such as paratroopers dropping from the sky near a mission-critical bridge. However, this time it’s part of the German offensive on the British positions along the Escaut, which later would lead to the dramatic events of Dunkirk.
I'm fine with some flexibility in favor of gameplay, but having Tigers and V1's during the 1940 fall of France is a pretty bizarre choice. Almost none of the equipment or vehicles are correct for that period, why on earth would they pick it for their trailer?!
Reddit detective post incoming: On this page
The background image for the first image you see behind the BFV info is named "casablanca-blue-background.jpg". A quick Wikipedia reference shows that Casablanca was the location where Operation Torch in WWII happened. Just an observation!
Is that the skin from the event you had to do in BF4 (get 100 kills with the M1911) prior to BF1 release?
Edit: yes it is. https://www.battlefield.com/news/article/road-to-battlefield-1-incarcerator-mission
It states "....in a new setting" on the Ten Things To Know list.
Now if it this is the case... surely it can't be anything we've already had? What do we define as "new"?
An early release of DXR will be available in an upcoming patch, near the Battlefield V Deluxe Edition release window. So, be sure you’re rigged up.
Here’s our recent PC Player’s Guide on req specs and more info: https://www.battlefield.com/news/battlefield-5-pc-guide
Edit: Updated with more specific timing.
The url for the link in the tweet says Battlefield 5
https://www.battlefield.com/news/article/how-to-watch-stream-of-battlefield-5-live-reveal
Releasing in June, it will make Lupkow Pass, Zeebrugge, and River Somme available for free under this game mode: https://www.battlefield.com/news/article/road-ahead-for-battlefield-1-quick-ops-map-giveaways
Not weird at all - BF1 had the same minimum:
https://www.battlefield.com/games/battlefield-1/tech
Which is not surprising. BF1 MP is an insane CPU hog. You really need 4+ threads for it to be perfectly smooth at all times during 64 player matches with all the destruction.
Worth noting the FB post was the day before Memorial day as well as it being a link to a 23rd announcement touting their attempt at portraying the less familiar.
Source? Because the main BF site say's its the path to Dunkirk: https://www.battlefield.com/en-gb/news/article/the-10-most-exciting-moments-in-the-battlefield-5-reveal-trailer
> Creating this map and choosing this period of WW2 is a good example of our main Battlefield V ambition: letting you visit lesser known battlefields. The surroundings seen are based on events leading up to the evacuation of Dunkirk, in an era where German tank warfare reached its peak. Overall, it’s WW2 like you’ve never seen it before. However, it’s also a classic, all-out battlefield experience where infantry, tank, and planes clash. As you fight in the marshlands and dense vegetation surrounding the center piece – a partially destroyed Escaut Bridge – there’s a place for every playstyle. Will you go for the close-range assault style, locking down the path across the bridge? Or will you rule the skies as the pilot of a Spitfire and bring death from above to anything that moves? Your call.
i was curious of the same.

This is how the article explains it though. " The Battlefield 1 Premium Pass giveaway is set to run from September 11 to 18, as our way to capstone all the giveaways and rewards from the Road to Battlefield V. This offer will let Battlefield 1 owners play everything <em>Battlefield 1 Premium Pass</em> has to offer for free*. "

This sounds like we get to keep it for free once we download/claim it within that window.
Will probably contain these things https://www.battlefield.com/news/article/battlefield-1-the-road-ahead
Some rumours even says that rent-a-server functionality will be included aswell, so custom servers will open up very shortly after patch release.
Open Beta starts August 31 and will have this map (along with the horses)! Here is the link for anyone that is curious. Beta will have Conquest and Rush mode, don't know how long it will last however...
To the mods, I tried to post the source but it had already been submitted by someone else. The original post doesn't highlight that DICE have announced that support is ending, but that Rupture is now available to all owners of BF1.

Hello!
Sorry it took some time, but we are finally ready to share some news with you. You can find it here: https://www.battlefield.com/news/article/road-ahead-for-battlefield-1-quick-ops-map-giveaways
Also please have a look at the pinned thread for the PC CTE session around this.
Cheers!
I still don't think it is, not to discredit Westie but he's been wrong before (can't find the tweet but he said Medics get Bolt Action rifles with Iron sights during BF1's development). They don't advertise it as a behemoth on the website (here) they just advertise it as a new heavy bomber, that would explain why there is 2 of them at once as well. Who knows we'll just have to wait and see.
Can some body provide a source on that? I've seen this said a lot but have never been able to find a developer actually saying it.
I've only found the exact opposite:
"We will always put fun over authentic :)" https://twitter.com/Alekssg/status/999545829475090432
"WW2 AS YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN IT BEFORE" https://www.battlefield.com/news/ww2-as-you-have-never-seen-it-before-battlefield-5
The closest I could find on that last link:
"We want Battlefield V to provide both a true and an unexpected WW2 experience. This means striking a fine balance between the unseen and the iconic – which is especially true for weapons and vehicles."
I love that in their original blog post about the new medal system, they tried to put such a positive spin on it:
>Battlefield veterans will notice some changes in how the commemorations work this time around. Each Medal still has a specific unlock criteria, but in Battlefield 1 you have the freedom to choose which medals to pursue. There are always 5 Medals to choose from, and this quintet of decorations is rotated on a weekly basis.
>This goes hand in hand with the philosophy of choice in Battlefield 1. To find something that caters to your play style at any given moment, you are free to choose which Medal you’re currently most interested in tracking. You can only track one Medal at the time, but if you change game mode or role you can switch focus and go for another Medal. Your progression will be kept as long as the weekly reset hasn’t happened yet.
https://www.battlefield.com/news/article/earning-medals-in-battlefield-1
I knew it sounded like a horrible way of managing medals from the very beginning, despite the PR speak.
I posted this issue right here in this sub 5 months ago, right after they claimed to have fixed it in the Winter Update patch notes.
Not surprised it still hasn't been fixed.
Decreased the percentage of contribution to flag capture/neutralize from 50% to 30%.
This is literally all they did. The new system rewards those who 1.) fully deplete an enemy objective until neutralization and 2.) fully capture a neutral objective into their team's possession. More points are awarded for the ticks rather than just completing the capture. Before, one could reach an objective in time for a couple ticks and completing a capture and still get 500 points for the capture when they were present for perhaps 2-3s. No longer can you just scramble in the remaining seconds and net an easy 500 points for doing almost nothing.
NIVELLE NIGHTS
description; Chemin des Dames, 1917.
As darkness falls over the muddy battlefields around Malmaison and Soupir, French and German batteries prepare to yet again support their troops on the contested ground.
The moon, the searchlights, and the artillery lights up the night skies, exposing the vast network of trenches. Bite and hold as your foe will fight for every inch of ground. Strategy and teamwork will overcome those who have neither.
In the patch notes: "Fixed the issue where the gameplay options for controlling the visibility of the world icons for enemy and friendly soldiers were not working properly."
That was a nice "fix" https://www.battlefield.com/news/update-notes/october-2017-update
Its an open beta. You just download it when it begins and play. Theres an early start for insiders which is the 21st. I'm not sure if its for everyone or randomly picked/streamers. But you can sign up to be an insider here Otherwise its open to anyone on the 31st.
The link just redirects me to a 404 error page, anyone else?
Edit: This link works
You're being downvoted but this makes the most sense to me. What justification would there be for calling a ww2 battlefield game Battlefield V? I think they're going to make a modern game and release another ww2 game a year or so after the release of BF:V. I am almost certainly wrong but with all this talk of 'Battlefield never being the same' I can't imagine them going to ww2. What new things could you possibly do there with this game?
Although after reading this page, I am thinking it will be ww2 so they can continue their war stories.
>You can of course expect large-scale multiplayer in the next Battlefield – but Battlefield V takes it to the next level. Prepare for multiplayer that spans multiple maps and modes
I hope they have more than playlists up their sleeve.
Important stuff: > The Battlefield 1 Open Beta begins on August 31 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Origin for PC.
> Battlefield Insider members get early access, and if you sign up by August 21, you can join them as some of the first people in the world to play the Battlefield 1 Open Beta. If you've already signed up, make sure you go to the Battlefield Insider Page and select your platform preference, otherwise you won’t get a code to play early.
>The Battlefield 1 Open Beta will include the Sinai Desert map, a scorching hot battlefield located just East of El-Jifar.
> Two modes will be available: Conquest and Rush.
Part of the "appeal" as far as I know is that the outcome of a stage will affect the setting of the next stage. More specifically according to the official site here:
> Play well on the first day and deploy with an adequate supply of ammo or vehicles when the map shifts, for example. Do poorly, and you’ll deploy the next day with perhaps fewer respawns, vehicles, or other resources.
Norway, the only Grand Operation that we know of so far, features the Airborne mode in its first stage, where attackers paradrop while defenders have artillery to destroy the planes before you exit them.
From this Game Informer article:
> Here, the game tallied the number of objectives met and also takes into account how many soldiers were left standing that day. These numbers are then applied to your ticket count for the subsequent round.
It's not the first time something like this has been done but there is an appeal for progression in multiplayer matches that don't necessarily carry over outside that match.
Nope.

The trailer actually portrays the Battle of France in 1940, which makes it even more absurd. None of the uniforms, vehicles, or weapons (except the Bren) fit that theme. I don't see what's the point of Dice hammering in that they want to show battles and scenarios of the war that haven't often been done before, if they can't artistically distinguish between the fall of France in 1940 and a steampunk Michael Bay Market Garden.
Does this help?
"On Monday December 25, bonus Scraps will not be handed out. Players will instead receive a Superior Battlepack that can be unlocked by logging in between December 25, 12 AM PT and December 27, 12 AM PT."
https://www.battlefield.com/news/article/celebrate-battlefield-1-holidays-with-events
Also, if you played 25-27 December, you might be able to see it on Battlefieldtracker.com.
Hey Chaki213, the in this update listed changes(https://www.battlefield.com/news/update-notes/spring-update) should only affect Fighters, Attack planes and Bombers. Behemoths are a whole different class. Is it correct that you are referring to the Spring update?
The linked video also shows a really bad pilot behaviour that should get him killed by an average AA gunner. Instead of flying away from the AA gun and diving low in order to use the environment as cover, he decided to pull the airplane around and fly in a circle around the AA gun which gives the AA gunner more time to hit the plane.
I personally don't know what "Fixed bad behavior on crashing planes by disabling rotor critical state when landing gear is deployed" actually does. So I asked internally and will update here as soon as I get an answer.
The ANZAC/Gallipoli arc is called 'The Runner'
Especially on Lupkow Pass, where there's literally one damn AA placement in the middle of an objective
I was playing as on of the side guns on the airship last night and just getting kill after kill after kill and nobody could stop me and it was, honestly, sickening. Didn't really feel fun or balanced.
And still they beat us and held the damn objectives.
I kinda get the futuristic vibe, from some choice of words here: https://www.battlefield.com/news/article/battlefield-5-live-reveal-ten-things-not-to-miss
Unexpected? Isn't WW2 expected. And even if the game is new, everyone kinda expects certain theatres of war to be in a WW2 game.
Also, no shit it happens on another frontline, everyone knows they won't make another WW1 game. But when mentioned that way, it sounds like it really happens on another frontline.... (Future)
Also the background color of the V images they've published looks very futuristic. Also, the White Horse image has a black stripe tearing over the horse. Maybe the meaning is in the black stripe, tearing through the image. Kinda like "no more horses".
Although I don't want futuristic, it seems most likely to me.
Come the fuck on... it's even on your official website! >Want to jump into a vehicle and wreak havoc? Play as... the Pilot or Tanker! Deploy into the driver seat of a plane or tank in Battlefield 1 and you'll eschew your typical class in favor of the two new Vehicle classes. These replace your typical classes, letting you trade in your Medic or Support kit in favor of playing as a Tanker or Pilot. When you're deploying into a tank or a plane, those vehicles are your primary weapon, and you'll be fully absorbed into that role, rather than being an Assault who happens to by flying a biplane.
Link for those that want to see themselves. It's under the "Which class is right for you?" tab.
Didn't like the bf1 campaign. My biggest gripe with the campaign was the fact DICE decided to just paint WW1 as a Allies vs. Bad Guys campaign. Not a single War Story on the Germans, Austria-Hungary, or the Ottoman Empire, instead I spend the entire time being the Entente. If this was the only negative I wouldn't mind too much, but add in the uninspiring gameplay and design, and a story that I had to skip to avoid dying of cringe and I'm pretty annoyed at spending $60 for this.
When DICE talked about doing these little stories from differing perspectives and nationalities, I was overjoyed to hear it. Imagine my disappointment when I just play British Empire, Arabs and Americans for 6 hours. I bet that the French and Russian DLC, if they include War Stories, won't have us playing a goddamn nazi, no that would offend moronic idiotic Americans.
Confirmed: >In the Middle East deserts, Arab tribes rebel against the oppression of the Ottoman Empire. The Empire’s devastating artillery engage rebel forces wielding rifles from horseback. As a Bedouin warrior working alongside the legendary Lawrence of Arabia, you must find a way to take on the technologically superior enemy and destroy a deadly railgun.
" Previously in Battlefield 3, Battlefield 4 and Battlefield 1, dispersion (spread), increased by a certain value with every shot until players hit a max limit, and would decrease linearly over time while not shooting. "
See previous BF games have spread too just not as much as BF1. They forgot Hardline again ofc.
No. Battlefield 1 recommends 16GB, and even Call of Duty recommends 12GB these days. Those games seek out a far wider audience :P
The stupid thing about it is on the website https://www.battlefield.com/news/article/battlefield-1-anniversary-activities-details the part about missions does not exist. So once again there was some poor miscommunication going on; ingame announcement mentions "mission", official website mentions nothing about missions at all.
From the official Battlefield website here:
"This entire journey is called Tides of War – and it starts with your Company.
Customize Your Company – And See it Evolve over Time
The Company reflects you. It is your collection of customized soldiers, weapons, and vehicles developed and modified as you progress through the Battlefield V journey – and you can bring it to all multiplayer modes and the cooperative Combined Arms."
Source. It's pretty heavily implied that these are regular soldiers with high-level cosmetics, not special characters.
> most bombers just fly at the sky ceiling where even SAA cant counter them
Actually, with the SAA changes we made in last May Update, it's now impossible for the flight ceiling to exceed the verticle range of the SAA guns.
>Changed how max range for AA is applied. Max range now varies depending on the pitch of the gun. Shells can travel a maximum horizontal distance of 300m, and a maximum vertical distance of 450m. This applies to both the stationary AA and the AA truck. Previously AA shells timed out at the same max distance from the gun regardless of direction, resulting in a roughly spherical volume covered by the gun. This means horizontal range was as large as the max height the shells could reach, and that at very high altitudes the AA could cover very little area, even if its range was technically large. The new AA shells will have slightly less horizontal range than before at low altitudes, but they will retain that range all the way to the flight ceiling. This will make AA much more effective against high altitude aircraft without making it able to reach distant, low flying ones as well.
Just over 100 years ago, in the foggy and cold night of October 23, 1917, the French Battle of La Malmaison began. It was a carefully planned offensive with limited goals, focused on capturing the strategically important and heavily fortified Chemin des Dames ridge. With advanced artillery tactics and tank support, the French forced the Germans to give up the ridge by November 1.
Nivelle Nights available for all Battlefield 1 players
Based on these century-old events, the Nivelle Nights bonus map has been an intense night experience for Battlefield 1™ Premium Pass and Battlefield 1 They Shall Not Pass owners since its release. Now, we have an exciting announcement about the map: Nivelle Nights will be made available for all Battlefield 1 players*.
Starting early November, you can tackle the muddy battlefields around Malmaison and Soupir as the French or German army. Make good use of the moon, the searchlights, and the artillery lighting up the dark night skies. Enjoy the map – and own the night.
Operation Campaigns coming early November
The new, epic experiences of Operation Campaigns is just around the corner. You can play Eastern Storm, the first Operation Campaign, starting early November.
Operation Campaigns expand on the frontline clashes between attackers and defenders, stringing together multiple Operations and adding unique rewards to the mix.
Eastern Storm combines the Operations from Battlefield 1 In the Name of the Tsar: Brusilov Offensive and Red Tide. Eastern Storm will be available for owners of Battlefield 1 Premium Pass (or the standalone Battlefield 1 In the Name of the Tsar expansion.)
Requires Battlefield 1 on applicable platform (sold separately), internet connection, EA account, and for console users, an Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus membership (both sold separately).

>Weapon customisation is more focused.
>We definitely want to allow you to customise your weapons in Battlefield 1, but we also heard your feedback that we should try to find a way to do this without adding hundreds of additional attachments. That's why Battlefield 1 utilises pre-set Loadouts for each weapon - you're still able to customise your weapons to make sure they work with your playstyle, but in a more focused way.
>Each weapon has up to three Pre-Sets.
>Maybe you want a shotgun that packs a little more punch? Or maybe you'd rather one that trades stability for accuracy? The different weapon Pre-Sets should help you out. Some have up to three, giving you different ways to play with the same weapons. You're able to customise them as well, changing the zoom levels, reticles, and more.
It's only a beta that's being released to a small audience. Here's a link with more information.
Yup! I found it in my promotions folder on gmail. It was sent 14 hours ago. Here's a link to the changes
Edit: I just realised it's being released as a beta to a "small audience". I guess I got lucky so I'll keep people updated on it.
Here is dices notes on it https://www.battlefield.com/news/attrition-system-battlefield-5
Its basically the new system for getting ammunition and hitpoints. You spawn with less ammo and don't auto regen HP.
I big mitigating factor for that was that they claimed were bound by restrictions for customization AND they built a system that was too grindy. They had to go back to the drawing board on that one.
With Battlefield, there are so many possible customization possibilities (weapons, faces, accessories, vehicles, top and bottom clothing, etc etc etc), that they should be able to monetize it well enough to pump out a similar level of content as previous Battlefield games.
We'll see. I believe that the circumstances around Battlefront 2 should be educational and help Battlefield V. You're also very right that things could go sideways.
They do have a roadmap though, but we'll see how closely they stick to it and how the game evolves after the dates laid out within.
This blog post about weapon specializations mentions how starter weapons will have upgrades already unlocked. It looks like it's just for the starter weapons, but presumably you can just use currency you've already earned to unlock the upgrades for any future guns that you get.
As for weapon upgrades having statistical downsides, it was shown in this tweet by one of the UX designers.
great to have confirmation on this. do you know how big it will be and if we can preload it ?
my friend has shit internet so it would be great if he could preload it and im not forced to download it and bring it to him on my usb stick :D
oh i just read it here:
https://www.battlefield.com/de-de/news/battlefield-5-open-beta-announcement
It's a cinematic reveal trailer. Read the information they've actually released about the game: https://www.battlefield.com/news/article/battlefield-5-deep-dive-gameplay-changes-and-additions
Increased emphasis on squad play, removal of random bullet deviation, the return of bullet penetration, buildable fortifications, less ammo, etc. All of this points towards slower, more tactical gameplay than we've seen in Battlefield for a while.
Yes, it was in last week's official news:
>We’re glad to announce that we’re making more maps from Battlefield 1 They Shall Not Pass available for all owners of Battlefield 1*. (...) Coming in May, you’ll get to play on more maps with the hardened veterans of the French army making in a stand in a brutal defense of their homeland.
Open beta for everyone starting from august 31st
https://www.battlefield.com/news/article/battlefield-1-beta-dates
> make sure you go to the Battlefield Insider Page and select your platform preference, otherwise you won’t get a code to play early
I'm so curious about the horse physics. It's hard to imagine animal physics in a game like Battlefield.
From their website (Link):
> There are your Shotguns (great for blasting enemies from up close), SMGs (made for short range rapid-fire), LMGs (amazing at tearing things apart from medium range), Semi Autos (balanced and powerful), Sidearms (great in a pinch), and Sniper Rifles (which do exactly what you think).
In other words, the only bolt-actions are placed under the Sniper Rifles.
In the latest official update with a teaser you also get a few screenshots of the finished versions of the maps and the infiltrator. I'm not seeing the martiny-launcher (I'm gonna call it that from now on because I like that name) on the pic though.
No, second mission doesn't close for another 3 days, and it typically takes a week or so after closing to get rewards.
Use BF calendar.
No judgment, it's not like Dice makes it easy to track all their BS.
> I've got a well cool emblem with a dinosaur now because I did it on the app
You could also just do it on the web companion and save yourself the trouble of downloading the app as well.
Creating emblems there is also easier and you can share them quite easily. That's how I ~~stole~~ acquired the collection of Emblems I generally use
I'm pretty sure that they're already working on the final DLC for BF4 and even BF5. Look at the premium calendar, the last DLC finishes summer 2014. Which means another autumn release of the next battlefield to compete with COD.
Edit: I mean Battlefield's website, not the premium calendar
https://www.battlefield.com/battlefield-4/expansion-packs/final-stand
Going by that Grand Operations map leak yes, but they've refered to the Narvik map as Artic Fjord in their offical materials. See here
eg. >What Modes and Maps will the Closed Alpha Contain?
>If you get invited, you can tackle Conquest mode or the Grand Operation Fall of Norway. Taking place on the map Arctic Fjord, Fall of Norway lets you experience two of its in-game “days” and play two of the modes that the Grand Operation strings together: Airborne and Breakthrough.
>Unless you're getting nitpicky like "there haven't been any maps set in German occupied Finland!"
You may say that in jest but they also used the phrase "unexpected theatres of war" before getting into the "new setting" part in this blog post, so I could actually see that being the case somewhat.
Of course, these are both pretty generalised and somewhat ambiguous terms, but I can see how people interpret it like this.
Shock Operations is a new mode which DICE announced recently. The gameplay is pretty much the same as in regular Operations, but there's only one map and it's 40 player. Currently, it's in the process of being tested on the CTE, but it's supposed to be released with the June update.
https://www.battlefield.com/games/battlefield-1/turning-tides
AVAILABLE IN JANUARY:
New Map: Heligoland Bight
New Map: Zeebrugge
New Faction: British Empire: Royal Marines
New Vehicle: C-Class Airship
So, it's just the info that's already been posted, explained slowly over fairly uneventful game footage? Why?
For anyone actually interested who doesn't want to watch the video, all info is here

See also the 2 other text posts that were already posted with this info
Um, well, according the November patch notes (Operations Campaign update) this already happened.
>Adjusted the brightness of smoke and muzzle flashes on semi-auto rifles.
That was supposedly fixed in the Tsar update:
>Bombers should no longer take multiple damage pings from a single bullet.
But maybe they forgot to add it to the heavy bomber.
Two different development teams at EA DICE handle Battlefront and Battlefield 1. Seeing how DLC is yet to be released, BF1 will be supported for the foreseeable future.
Edit: https://www.battlefield.com/news/article/the-road-ahead-for-battlefield-1-march-2017
> I am happy to say that after looking at different ways to address this, we have found an approach that we are excited to try out together with you.
Doesn't sound like this is a temporary feature as much as they're testing it to see if it works and if it does they'll keep it.
https://www.battlefield.com/news/article/introducing-premium-friends-a-word-from-our-producer
This is the real-life version of the light tank already in the game. The Char 2C tank will be the new behemoth in the upcoming DLC.
If the new DLC works as it did in previous DICE/EA games, it will only be accessible in the new maps. And I'm about 100% sure this will be a standalone behemoth. It'd be way OP if the losing team could combine two behemoths.
See https://www.battlefield.com/games/battlefield-1/they-shall-not-pass for more info on the DLC.
EDIT: Grammar.
You can also change your loadout (incl. buying guns) in the companion app or on the web companion ( https://www.battlefield.com/companion/ ).
But I agree to you, this should also be available from the menu. (It shows at least what gun's you could buy and the price, but no button to buy it)
Equipping a bayonet increases your recoil and amount of time it takes to aim down sight (ADS) after sprinting.
<strong>Source</strong>: Equipping a bayonet to your primary weapon also negatively affects the recoil of your weapon, and how quickly you can raise your weapon to a fire-ready position after a sprint.
A previous version of this article stated that Battlefield V Grand Operations would be available shortly after launch, based on development plans as of June 9, the date the story published. The article has been updated to reflect that Grand Operations will be playable at launch and as part of Tides of War.
https://www.battlefield.com/en-gb/news/battlefield-5-grand-operations-and-multiplayer-modes
Capture Point D gives your team an extra tank, and Capture Point G provides an extra plane. So a total of up to 12 vehicles on map; 3 tanks, 3 planes, and 6 squad call-ins (assuming the SQ limits apply across maps).

In this article we have two clear references to visual thematic immersion:
> 2 …in a New Setting
> Battlefield 1 gave players the definitive World War 1 experience that brought the dawn of all-out war to life. But the next Battlefield happens on another frontline. The live reveal will give players the first look at DICE’s immersive portrayal of the new setting.
--
> 5 Unmatched Sights and Sounds
> Battlefield has always been about high-fidelity immersion, and Battlefield V isn’t any different. Tune in, and you’ll be among the first to hear and see the stunning environments that you’ll soon be playing within.
In another article we again have two references to thematic immersion:
> With Battlefield™ V, we want to take you on a true journey through World War 2. But what do we mean by that? Instead of just showcasing new locations, we want to immerse you in this epic conflict and evolve the gameplay, just as tactics and weaponry evolved throughout the war.

> Tides of War will be an evolving journey featuring a new narrative every few months. Each chapter of Tides of War will focus on a particular aspect of the era, with unique gameplay experiences to drive players forward. We will use content, soldiers, visuals, and narrative to immerse our players deeper into the gameplay.
You're certainly correct in that the devs seem to be taking immersion as you're describing, but clearly the marketing department has other ideas on what the word means. Sadly that's what the majority of non die hard fans will hear about the game, and expect a thematic world.
Even if they said that, they're already lying through their teeth.
You pay more for the deluxe edition, and get lootboxes as part of the package.
>Battlefield V - Deluxe Edition
>20 WEEKLY ITEMS WITH AIRLIFT - Get 20 weekly Airlifts, each containing one customization item.
Even if the fact that paying for lootboxes with real money doesn't bother you, it seems like already having them lie through their teeth regarding not being able to pay for lootboxes should bother people.
From the patch notes of the October update, under „Maps and Modes“:
>* Fixed an issue with Mother Voice Over on Operations Globe screen.
Dice is beta testing a competetive mode for battlefield 1 now : Incursions
I got a beta invite but I didn't even give enough of a fuck to accept it
Just to clarify for anyone who is confused, it is a standard vehicle and not a Behemoth; it's essentially a new air vehicle class. It has a pilot seat and 3 gunners according to the Tides newspost. From what I gather, it'll function like a helicopter "deliver[ing] death from above."
Thus far all DLC vehicles are usable in the base maps as well as inter-DLC, so it's very likely the new Airship will follow this pattern.
It says its a new gamemode here (near the bottom), although you maybe right as I don't see it in the release section for December or January. If it was only for one map I think it'd be a really big missed opportunity of a return for a fan favourite gamemode, also having it for Albion (which I think we can agree on that it perfectly suits the mode) would be really cool so hopefully its fleshed out.

"We’re glad to announce that a new map called “Prise de Tahure” will be released shortly for testing on the CTE (Community Test Environment). Set in the autumn after the Nivelle Offensive, Prise de Tahure sees French troops desperately holding on to re-captured heights in the Butte-de-Tahure region. The frontline trench networks cut right through several villages facing obliteration from the constant skirmishing between German stormtroopers and French raiders. This is a war of attrition. Adaptability and tactics are the means to wear your adversary down."
here's a link to the BF1 first DLC, read through how much they are getting and weap :'( AND this is EA giving all this amazing content.

They could've accommodated everyone by sticking with the ribbons/medals system of previous BF games and let us complete each one at our own leisure. This whole weeklong medal rotation is a rat-race.
I mean shit, look at how the devs introduced these changes to medals:
>This goes hand in hand with the philosophy of choice in Battlefield 1. To find something that caters to your play style at any given moment, you are free to choose which Medal you’re currently most interested in tracking. You can only track one Medal at the time, but if you change game mode or role you can switch focus and go for another Medal. Your progression will be kept as long as the weekly reset hasn’t happened yet.
Philosophy of choice? What a joke. They even contradict their own bogus freedom philosophy in that paragraph a couple times, mentioning the restrictions of the feature. It all seems like some suits at EA are trying to alter our playing patterns for their own benefit, rather than making informed decisions in game design to enhance the product for players.

Enjoy, ya me lo estoy bajando para probarlo hoy a la noche en PS4, no sabía de la open beta!

The proverbial bone has already been thrown to everyone.
Gallipoli will most likely be in the game. Here's a concept art from the Battlefield website which looks like the Gallipoli landing http://i.imgur.com/PuwJhB6.jpg

I guess DICE is wrong, too, and doesn't know shit about these games, either?

> Gun Play and Removing Random Bullet Deviation
> Where you aim is where you’ll shoot. This will always be true in Battlefield V. Disregarding bullet drop over longer distances, the bullet will go where you have your sights. There will be no RBD (random bullet deviation).
I made a quick gif to show you where you can find it!

Considering that's literally what the developers/dice refer to it by, yes. Obviously it's not like your bullets are randomly flying all over the place. There's a method to its madness, sure. But there's still the chance that your shot might not land exactly where you're aiming, which is especially noticeable when aiming for a small hit box like the head. It's the type of feature that adds nothing to gameplay besides penalizing the player. The correct way is to have a predictable spread with increasing recoil. This means the longer you play with a weapon the better you can learn how to use it.
You can even refer to the official blog post below where rbd and its removal is discussed https://www.battlefield.com/news/battlefield-5-deep-dive-gameplay-changes-and-additions
How's the rebirth of Battlefield 1943 for a contingency plan?

My guess is that they're going to relaunch it with new game engine and MTX implementation. Probably even F2P or very low price (~10€). BR with wacky customizations could also work well with that.
cropped it up from the new Medic class roles post:

Wrong. Since been updated.
"A previous version of this article stated that Battlefield V Grand Operations would be available shortly after launch, based on development plans as of June 9, the date the story published. The article has been updated to reflect that Grand Operations will be playable at launch and as part of Tides of War."

On PC, all scoped scout rifles have glint:
>Marksman and Patrol scopes now have scope glints. Considering that these scopes provide sufficient magnifying power for ranged engagements, adding glints provides Scout opponents a better chance to survive the encounter.

Then why does the very first reveal article about the game literally refer to the setting as "immersive"?
