It's hard to put into words how much we love Dungeon Keeper.
I didn't know what else to write after that and deleted about 5 different versions of this message.
And I still don't really know what to say. We love the franchise, we've been playing it since it existed, and this is the game we want to make. We literally became game developers to do just this.
it shouldnt surprise you, that guys game is a blatant ripoff of a Kongregate game http://www.kongregate.com/games/freakyzoid/run-from-the-sun
play it and see how similar it looks to Beyond Gravity. Shady as fuck
It is. I was wondering about posting it in there, too, but I thought it wasn't really relevant, since you're fighting not a bunch of blobs but more of a tidal wave of jam.
Also, it has tons of demos, both traditional downloadables as well as limited Flash versions.

Then follow the instructions to add TotalBiscuit to your whitelist.
I've used it for months now. It works.
No, the browser game is free. The Ipad version, which is basically the same with some improvements is 0,89 cents, and this version, which was completely remade in a new engine and greenlit on steam (which means people clearly wanted this) is 10 bucks. I don't think 10 is too much for a good tower defense game imho (if the technical issues are fixed of course)
Edit: you know what, I just thought to myself "I'd probably bye it if it were cheaper" so I guess you have a point. It's a tough sell for this price. I still don't think it's too much to ask for.
Please use this link, this way they won't get pageclicks.
Crendor and Jesse can barely get together to record a podcast these days, I don't see how a Terraria series would work out.
It's very disappointing really. They started a Patreon so they would be able to do more episodes a month, for which they received around $3100 a month. On the Patreon page it basically said (until very recently) "our goal is aim for a minimum of 10 podcasts a month, maybe more".
They delivered 2 podcasts in March, 3 in April, 2 in May and so far 2 in June.
They've now switched to a 'pay per podcast' system because it obviously wasn't working out. $3100 is a lot of money to receive in a month for barely doing anything.
Don't get the #1 pick of Duke3d+ShadowWarrior Redux on Steam for $3.75.
Get them for PWYW, $1 min for next 2 days here: https://www.humblebundle.com/devolver and support Brandon Boyer. Steam redeemable too.
Edit: Also Bionic Dues is part of this bundle, which is $2 for the next 24 hours: http://www.bundlestars.com/all-bundles/underground-bundle/
Just in case you didn't know, you can get it from the Humble store, and get a Steam Key to redeem: https://www.humblebundle.com/store/p/hotlinemiami2_storefront
That's how I got the game, so I can still support the devs
Didn't like the bf1 campaign. My biggest gripe with the campaign was the fact DICE decided to just paint WW1 as a Allies vs. Bad Guys campaign. Not a single War Story on the Germans, Austria-Hungary, or the Ottoman Empire, instead I spend the entire time being the Entente. If this was the only negative I wouldn't mind too much, but add in the uninspiring gameplay and design, and a story that I had to skip to avoid dying of cringe and I'm pretty annoyed at spending $60 for this.
When DICE talked about doing these little stories from differing perspectives and nationalities, I was overjoyed to hear it. Imagine my disappointment when I just play British Empire, Arabs and Americans for 6 hours. I bet that the French and Russian DLC, if they include War Stories, won't have us playing a goddamn nazi, no that would offend moronic idiotic Americans.
> There is such a thing as cost maximums on health insurance
I'm not sure if you've been through the US health system as a "significant user" but ... this depends, a lot.
There are also really bad edge cases, which feel like scams (Eg. you goto an in network hospital for a pre-approved surgery, but then get a huge bill when you come out because the anesthesiologist wasn't "in network").

[A long post about it](/r/Games/comments/1tuf3c/this_is_why_mark_kern_was_removed_as_ceo_by_red_5)
A similar and very awesome game is Soldat http://soldat.pl/en/ . Soldat is like this but has team vs team modes, has much larger levels and you don't die instantly, and you always have a jetpack. check it out too! (its free) Gameplay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9cctyg-4zNk
You won't need to use TunnelBear, or any other VPN for that matter, to play the game. I hope devs know about it and have no plans of closing this loophole, since I have no intention of playing the game via my local distributor.
Use http://isthereanydeal.com/ as buying directly from steam, uplay, origin, etc. usually isn't the best place. Just avoid key resellers.
For example GMG had -25% coupon, which stacked on top of -17% sale price and if you used friends ref link (or TB) you get 2€ after purchare and opting in to Playfire rewards with same GMG account you get little credit just by playing the game. That meant you'd get Deluxe version for 45€ and had some pocked money afterwards.
Of course that was pretty insane price for pre-order so they seem to be out of keys right now.
Of course it's already 10€ cheaper than console versions but that $1=1€ is definitly bshit. You can buy from Amazon with US price as well.
OR just do like I do and wait for few months so it's cheaper and bugs are ironed out and play X amount of games you have in steam account and consoles unplayed.
That you ignored the critical talking points in lieu of "NO YOU" non-arguments indicates to me you did not watch the podcast, or did not understand any of the points made. You have not actually explained why Target being a soft target does not make this a forced move to save face under pressure. Please answer this.
The other possibility is of course that you are just trolling.
Calling my definitions weird and corrupted does not automatically make it true, you know? Here, let me demonstrate that my understanding of censorship is perfectly reasonable:
http://www.vocabulary.com/dictionary/censorship
> Censorship blocks something from being read, heard, or seen. If you've ever heard the sound of bleeping when someone is speaking on television, that's censorship. To "censor" is to review something and to choose to remove or hide parts of it that are considered unacceptable.
> Censorship is the name for the process or idea of keeping things like obscene word or graphic images from an audience. There is also such a thing as self-censorship, which is when you refrain from saying certain things — or possibly re-wording them — depending on who is listening.
In this specific case, Target decided to censor their inventory of games under pressure (because it was being sold earlier, they do censor the goods they offer). So we have to possibilities: Target suddenly, willfully, censors what was perfectly fine earlier, or someone with an agenda put so much pressure on Target (in a very disingenuous way, looking at the petition itself) that they were forced to do it.
As an aside: Hacking a comment into individual talking points only works when you intend to actually answer all of them and not take them out of context in order to construct a strawman that leaves out the important parts. Please don't. :)
In the beginning TB was talking about a great LOTR audiobook adaption. I recommend you listen to this https://www.mediafire.com/folder/cjjdiknzeieol,6jmo2c5q9vbll,jdmyib22aeqpm/shared There is a listen option so that you don't have to download it, but it is amazing. It was on youtube, but the Tolkien estate took it down, it was made by a guy that went by the name of philsstuffofdoom, and I can't recommend it enough
lost source, lol? free open source homm 3 WoG: http://forum.vcmi.eu/portal.php with a launcher that downloads and installs selected mods automatically. other open-source clones: http://osgameclones.com/) @locked source code issue.
I would've expected from a HD remaster to look a bit better graphically.
Don't forget about FFsplit, which is a ~~opensource~~ broadcasting software too, based on ffmpeg.
EDIT: FFsplit doesn't seem to be opensource, at least I can't find the source. anyways, it's still a good streaming app.
The TeamBiscuit folding@home team could use some love: http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/main.py?qtype=teampage&teamnum=229610 . There's only 39 active CPUs on the team right now.
Folding@home is a project of Stanford University for medical research. You download a program onto your PC (there's even a version that runs in Chrome if you can't run a download), it does calculations and then forwards the results to researchers. This allows doctors to do super-computer-level simulations of potential medicines without having to buy a super-computer.
So far, there have been 160 research papers that have used Folding@home data as part of their research.
You can even specify that you want your CPU/GPU cycles to go towards cancer in the Advanced settings. If you ever wanted to tell your video card to join the fight against cancer, https://foldingathome.org/start-folding/ is the place to start. Once you get that running, you can enter in team number 229610 to join TeamBiscuit.
Donation systems, like what GULA uses for his Cities: Skylines mods is a much better way to go about this.
"Like that mod? Donate to the maker and he will make more!"
Oh but shouldn't the developers get a cut? They do, I have bought MANY games just because they are moddable.
It is mostly fan funded through patreon, it used to be polaris that paid Julian (the animator) but since the podcast was moved to TB's channel so did the animated, but that meant polaris wouldn't fund him.
The patreon pays much better than Polaris and that is one reason that they are so much improved, both in length and quality
Funny enough, this interface (Yudu) is a service that they're paying for to provide this whole "Web 2.0" style interface for the magazine. Their actual website is pretty standard.
I guess they just upload the PDF of their magazine to Yudu, and then it gets turned into this bloated, slow, unintuitive interface. If you hit the download button, it actually gives you a .zip file with an installer for their viewing software. It's absurd, but I'm guessing it has something to do with the misguided use of DRM.
Per https://twitter.com/SpecFiction/status/284148277681721344 <- this tweet that TB retweeted, Amazon has Spec Ops: The Line for cheaper (specifically $10 with a $5 credit toward certain purchases next month) and comes with Bioshock and Bioshock 2. Redeems on Steam. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0091T6FQO/
Just for anyone looking here who doesn't follow TB's twitter religiously.
Reminds me heavily of an old DOS game called Shortline, which is abandonware now. You can even play it in your browser!
As the other guy said just put a + in the URL. It doesn't really show that much, but it is usefull if your bit.ly would be to get shared around but I suspect all of the referals are from the youtubes. It shows the numbers, which kinda shows the interest and conversion rate of views->clicks (which are ofcourse not sales).
example for lazies from the latest WTF is video of shovelknight.
Just dusted off my fake bluetooth 360 android controller and you are right - there actually is button fo acceleration and option to turn auto-acceleratio on! Of course there's also partial turning with analog stick and motion control where touch and keyboard are turn fully or move forward.
So just get Humble Bundle.
I had quite some fun with Xonotic, which is more or less the continued developent of Quake3.
Since it is open Source and has no really big media traction it isn't well known. But there is a number of players online.
Everyone! A warning: IF YOU HAVE MORBID CURIOSITY, INSTALL ADDBLOCK PLUS! THEN, WHEN DONE, UNINSTALL AS SOON AS YOU CAN. Thank you for your comprehension, my apologies for taking up your time. Feel free to do with this as you wish.
It is not that hard, e.g., I was able to do it just playing around with the unreal engine 4 editor. If you would like, try playing with their game engine and messing around with the various controls (there are hundreds of them which effect the how the player sees the game world. While it is a different engine, I can't see them messing up the frostbite engine that much, especially if it can be adjusted in multiplayer with no problem. https://www.unrealengine.com/
The only way I can see the FOV being uncorrectable for SP, is if they went with pre-rendered video clips for certain events or cut scenes and those clips were created with a specific FOV, and they wanted to make it seem more seamless (e.g., not having your FOV randomly jump around depending on which clip or QTE was going on).
>I don't think SC2 has to worry about LoL as something that would cannibalise the viewer base
Well, except when something like this happens
No, he would have only received the damage once: Link.
What they did play wrong though is the part where TB says that it's not allowed to play a Start and an End (Source + Delivery). This is a legal spell (it's even shown in the rulebook). I don't know if they changed it later on, I'm still watching the video.
2048 is kind of a weird thing. The version that got popular was an improvement on an open-source implementation of a clone of Threes, which the author wasn't even aware of when he released the project. It was never meant to be monetized. It was just a fun, quick little programming project, and I think it got popular based on all the weird forks of it that sprung up after it was released. But then a bunch of wankers took the concept and put it up on the App Store with ads and in-app purchases. The version of 2048 you can find on iOS and Android IS NOT THE DEFINITIVE VERSION OF 2048. Despite being native, it's exploitative and somehow feels way shittier than the clean, minimalistic browser version.
I'd just like to point out that the Lagarith codec is included in the K-Lite Codec Pack Mega, which I talked about here.
But it's not expensive- at least, for a company.
The developer(s) had a very succesful iOS game! I'm pretty sure they can easily afford the $1500 (or $75 a month) to use it.
And how much is that "part" of your profit that you have to pay? Is that normal for an engine (or a substitute for licensing costs with other engines)? I'm curious how it compares to other options and why they went for Unity.
I'm not sure though how viable unity is for 2D, although i've heard that it's a very versatile engine. It is just extremely odd that they thought binding de fps to the refreshrate of your monitor was a good idea- maybe their experience with the engine was limited? It's bizarre.
Edit: Wait, are you sure that they have to pay royalties? It says this in the FAQ:
>Are there royalties or a per-title fee?
>No, Unity does not charge on a per title basis and you do not pay royalties or pay revenue share, even for games and applications made with the free version.
Wouldn't it be better to use the np.reddit.com links in the FAQ, too? If not because of the rules, then just for consistency?
Maybe the FAQ should answer some of the (less) frequent "TB real-life" questions, such as:
To not clutter the page too much those could be lumped in with the real name in some "TotalBiscuit Real Life Facts" category.
Edit:
Also the FAQ should maybe provide a link to The Auditory Works of TotalBiscuit, courtesy of Genna Bain/Intricacy.
Pre-OC'd Titan Xs are also available, such as the EVGA SC and Gigabyte XTREME, boasting boost clocks of 1.216 and 1.266 GHz respectively. Comparing a pre-OC'd 980 Ti with a stock Titan X is an unfair comparison.
You can buy top-of-the-line 980 Tis with 1.304 GHz factory OCs (Kingpin, Lightning) - but those are cherry-picked golden cards, and I'm not sure even those would beat out a Titan X running at 1.266 - it's a 3% increase in core clock with 9% fewer cores.
Remembering a tone and reproducing it is not perfect pitch. Perfect pitch is being able to name the note name of the tone.
You did link to the wrong part in the video, however. The part Dodger sang in the right key was at 1:54, not 1:58 (comparison). Dodger's first "I want it nooowwww~" wasn't at the same pitch (comparison).
Don't get me wrong. She reproduced the right pitch spot-on. It's just that that isn't what perfect pitch is. It's rather that her memory is accurate and that she can reproduce the tone accurately as well, which if you ask me is a much more useful skill than perfect pitch is.
EDIT: Apparently Wikipedia mentions the following about absolute pitch. :
>Generally, absolute pitch implies some or all of the following abilities, achieved without a reference tone:
- Identify by name individual pitches (e.g. A, B, C♯) played on various instruments.
- Name the key of a given piece of tonal music.
- Reproduce a piece of tonal music in the correct key days after hearing it.
- Identify and name all the tones of a given chord or other tonal mass.
- Accurately sing a named pitch.
- Name the pitches of common everyday sounds such as car horns and alarms.
In my experience this is not an uncommon feat amongst musicians, however, and it does not necessarily relate to perfect pitch but more so to accurate tonal memory. My tonal memory is alright, but I can't for the life of me name the right note names or produce the right tone on command, for instance.
EDIT 2: *sigh*
Unreal Tournament mods don't have to be sold, they can be given away for free. This means Star Wars mods and what not can still be made.
For those wondering about Thief using mantle and true audio the patch is set to march.
optimized gfy(html5 video) version of the gif
The only problem is that he's using MediaFire, which pretty much opens a second window asking you to download "Update Windows 8.1 Drivers", "iLivid", or "Flash player update". All of these are either adware or an obvious virus.
Example of what can appear if you click Download on a MediaFire site - http://tinypic.com/r/25akegk/8
Or Google by using "!g TotalBiscuit" or maybe you wanna search him up on YouTube "!yt TotalBiscuit" or maybe you wanna bing him "!b TotalBiscuit". Full list of DuckDuckGo "Bangs" can be found here.
A little late, but at around 41:40 he asks if anyone is doing well as a result of fan funding- One of TB's favorite channels as mentioned last year, Vaatividya, is making over 60,000 dollars a year off of patreon alone. https://www.patreon.com/vaatividya?ty=h
Interestingly, this same guy also got in a shitload of trouble about this recently, there was a huge controversy about him plagiarizing his content and essentially stealing other people's ideas. If he hadn't been so successful on Patreon, this very likely would not have been such a huge problem- doing morally dubious things and making ad revenue off of it on youtube is one thing, but asking people to directly pay you to do it is another entirely. This to me illustrates one of the sticking points for fan funding like Patreon, people have higher expectations of you, they hold you at a higher standard than any old youtuber, since they become directly invested in the content you're putting out. It can be a dangerous proposition if you're not fully committed to the project in question.
I don´t mind "premium" cosmetic items if it is done like GGG does it in PathofExile: https://www.pathofexile.com/shop/category/pets#
For many items there are multiple choices to fit different price categorys. In this way more people are served - from the person who just wants a cool cosmetic to the person who wants to buy something special&rare.
It's up from its all time low, but they are down around 2000 positions (previously around 6000 positions down).
I think that these clickbait articles are just trying to restore traffic to what it used to be.
http://isthereanydeal.com/ includes ONLY legimate shops and lists cheapest ones at the same time.
As for what is gray area and key reselling, there's now also hub for those called kinguin - if it's on kinguin then simply skip it.
>"What's interesting is, again, the legends give us an example, and that's a character, kind of lesser known, one of the merry men: A guy called Alan-a-Dale, who's basically a minstrel, a storyteller basically. That's Danny, the idea of introducing an AI who likes to tell stories, and maybe a thematic link to Thomas Was Alone, which is nice."
Quick googling later - that's all I found. Link to a two year old interview
That said, as I understand (and from playing TWA) neither game has much in worldbuilding or exposition. Can't even find what year TWA is supposed to be.
~~That said - he's doing a live AMA! Now (Soon)! Here:

So I'll go and ask. Assuming there's no account needed.~~ Gone, no new information.

It is usually the MCN contract that has an NDA on those figures.
It's not my typical genre but I've played a couple of really good ones. (less bullshitty anime stereorypes)
Digital is a free game and that's why I tried it. The dev made the spiritual sequel because that free little project got so popular. There's no harm in seeing whether you like it. It definitely has zero anime bullshit, but I'm pretty sure the "sequel" has at least some.
Just in case anyone is interested there's a similar project with a reimplemented Morrowind:
https://openmw.org/
Looks and runs better than the old version, but you need the original game for copyright reasons.
Ironically enough I'm hard of hearing myself but I was trying to caption this Co-Optional Podcast Animated on Amara a week or two ago, but have unfortunately gotten busy with other things. Might revisit this and try to finish it off this week and submit the transcript.
It's definitely worth checking out Amara, since you don't have to download the video yourself - you can just paste the Youtube link into Amara and use its interface to type in your subtitles (then export it as an appropriate file). It looks like you can collaborate with others through Amara but I haven't tried that yet.
It's also worth being selective of the videos that are to be captioned, just to keep in mind those who'll end up watching them in the future. The "WTF is ..." series are great for certain titles because people in future will swing by to check out a video if they're looking up a particular game. The "Co-Optional Podcast" isn't as viable since sometimes there'll be people talking over each other, and in general three hours of content is quite a fair amount to caption for non-stenographers.
I am waiting for the day movies switch to 60 the way soap operas have done. It looks weird until you get used to it, but movement is much more fluid. You can get this and see for yourself I haven't watched an action movie in 25 since discovering it
A lot of people are requesting it as a built-in feature for AdBlock, and have posted technical descriptions of how AB could go about it, so hopefully they'll get on it.
In the meantime, you can:
This is a cool idea that I think can be fleshed out pretty well.
Firstly, I know it's cliche, but it's easy. Use Bootstrap. http://getbootstrap.com/
Secondly, you could turn this into a fairly simple web app. How about persisting embargo data to a DB along with other data, such as developer, publisher, average score (meta scores not a good idea? Any other suggestions?), etc. Then, developers and publishers may be drilled-down into individually to view their track record on embargos. You could even add logic that looks at a publishers track record for embargos on games that didn't do well critically vs ones that did do well critically.
I don't know how much of a developer you are (you got this page up and running fairly nicely, so I'm going to assume you know a little PHP?), but take a look at some web app frameworks. My personal go-to is Yii, but you might like others.
You could do a lot here, you're definitely on to something. Good on you for the idea and this prototype.
> People generally don't part with money unless they have to.
The point is, that you have to talk to your "customers". You have to tell them, that you need to have money to make your mods, what mods you will make if they donate enough money etc. To put a little donation button on a page that can be barely seen and then tell people donations don't work is not a good argument.
Until now there was barely any discussion in the modder comunity about money. Some modders had donation buttons, but most of them didn't and I have not seen a single modder talking about what she/he could and would do, if they would get only more money until now.
This one does, so pirating isn't warranted here if you're using the "I want to know I'm buying something worth the money" justification.
A while ago. All his company emails are now @highbrowstudios.net, and there is indeed a Charlotte NC based "media production company" by this name. For a while highbrowstudios.net gave you an "under construction" page, but no longer it seems.
The company is either just there for tax reasons, or TB is eventually planning to make a site of some kind.
You can use a VPN to connect to lets say the UK, and then adding the game to your library. After that, you can play without needing a VPN or anything.
Few friends of mine from Ukraine are playing this way. FlyVPN is what they used. They offer a free service, and considering you need it for like 5 min max. Maybe something to look into for you?
It's called Beat up the face, it's a little silly game where you wail on a face for a few minutes. Can do some crazy stuff like setting your fists on fire and punching a baby.
I'm really proud of it, it's my first app, so I've got a lot to learn, even if this one didn't take off, I learned a lot already.
Check it out on the play store if you're feeling adventurous.
TB mentioned Lone Wolf a couple times.
They're free and you can find them here. http://www.projectaon.org/en/Main/Home
There's also an awesome Android app for it, called Lone Wolf Saga, and I think it's the best way to play/read it. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.GDVGames.LoneWolfBiblio
It's basically a choose your own adventure with rpg mechanics. It's hard as nails, tho. When you die you have to start over. And you die easily :D
http://www.kongregate.com/games/bento_smile/escape
I assume that a lot of people have a preconception of sony, due to the fact that some of their playstations were bought not to play games but as a cheap DVD/blueray player, or because during the PS2 era, they advanced graphics strong enough to attract an adience that previously assumedly consumed mainly movies. Aquiring the graphical fidelity required to hold the attention of an audience that was used to prerendered footage was hard on hardware and often at the expense of player choice, level design and emergent storytelling and shifted the focus towards scripted narratives and a strong sense of linear storytelling, these aspects are similarly true for microsoft's xbox.
I do not know shit about the order yet, all I know is that I dig interesting settings, such as the original thief setting or dishonored.
The auditory works of TotalBiscuit
Edit:
Although Blue Plz and EPIC are on there, I couldn't find "Titan". Shame...
^(Btw, the collection has been put together by /u/Intricacy)
Do you remember Pizza Tycoon? I'm pretty sure I played it on a machine with a 486 CPU. It had so much more than Supreme (and also games like Cook, Serve, Delicious! by the way, although that was a different kind of game more about serving than management).
You designed the pizzas on your menu, managed prices (and costs according to ingredients), decorated your place, expand to open new places all over the town, have competitors, sabotage them, deal with the mafia, get into competitions and get rated by different demographics. And it looked a thousand times better than this. Just look at all the different things you could do and how much better looking it was than this shit game called Supreme, here.
That was more than 20 years ago.
Look how far we've come. Backwards.
My point with Insurgency being an indie game is that it has a lower budget, thus fewer man-hours working on it, thus less content than a $60 (isn't that the standard release price?) game. You do get the game for a lower price, presumably to compensate for this. Also, I doubt ArmA II was sold for $20 on the release date. I could be wrong, though.
Okay, did some internet research. It seems ArmA II didn't account for the bullet in the chamber, even with the ACE mod ^source1 ^source2.
This isn't a new feature in games. Rainbow Six: Raven Shield accounted for any bullets in the chamber. That game is from 2003, i.e. 10 years old, 6 years before ArmA II. Admittedly, the animations were the same for a dry reload and a "tactical" reload.
The games are different. Insurgency is about close quarter infantry combat. Arma, not so much (I did play a little ArmA II years ago). ArmA is more about longer ranges, moving in terrain, combined vehicles & infantry, .... I like that. I really do.
I love playing infantry in Project Reality. Helping out your squad with the kit you were assigned, manning a stationary AA or MG while your squad is building assets, ...
I think this will be my last words on this.
You said Valve were solving a problem that didn't exist with controllers. I respond by informing you what kind of problem with controllers they are solving. Now you tell me I should use a keyboard and mouse.
There are people (like me) who want to use a controller instead of a keyboard and mouse, now and then. And there are also people (like me) who don't want an Xbox or PS4 controller (btw. not everybody is a fan of consoles), but would prefer a controller with higher precision and buttons on the back. (= this)
I really hope that Apple is considering releasing an official game controller for iOS. (They have patents for one, after all.) I know some people around here are against Apple and ilk, but imagine having actual, no holds barred, AAA games on your iOS devices, which would no doubt appear once millions of people have the same controller to play with. I don't know about you, but I'm tired of endless clones and console ports with shitty touch controls.
Furthermore, I think that if Apple were to release a controller and open up the App Store for Apple TV, it would become a major player in the console space -- as well as, ironically, the most open one. It would give equal footing to both indies and AAA games. It would do all the media things that the mainstream consoles are trying to do, but better. And it would be a dream to develop for, without the need to invest in an expensive dev kit. Doesn't that sound fantastic to you?
But I don't know if I trust Apple to make that decision. I fear a future where the kids of today get used to touch controls and physical buttons become a thing of the past.
(By the way, I totally wouldn't mind if Android did something similar, but Apple has all the pieces already in place.)

If that doesn't work maybe try hotspot shield or something similar. Considering TB's site doesn't promote those things, it makes sense that it will be corrected at some point but in the interim that is a solution.
This is his last post that anyone can see on his Patreon page:
UPDATE: next episode is gonna take a little while longer. I haven't had as much time as I usually do to work on it this month. And also the next episode is another lengthy one. But I hope it'll be worth it. I'll have more updates soon.
BEWARE: this game does NOT have full ultrawide support, despite what he claims.
If you don't have an ultrawide monitor, you can not reliably test UW support because on a monitor with DDC/CI support (i.e. ploughing ALL of them these days), the driver (and consequently - the game also) can assume control over monitor properties, like brightness, contrast, gamma, resolution, aspect ratio and even refresh rate, pixel clock and in some cases pixel overdrive, depending on the drivers and the monitor. Also note that just because a game reads resolution list supplied by the video driver, it doesn't mean that game will actually run in that resolution.
Bottom line is: Nier Automata on an actual UW monitor (like my AOC Q2963PM; 2560x1080 in a double monitor setup, second being a VGA-connected 1920x1080 Benq), this game will ONLY run in UW in windowed mode (it simply won't even switch to fullscreen) and all UI is stretched. I recommend using this tool(Windows Borderless Gaming - official website) to remove the border from the game, but be advised that it doesn't make the UI look any better - it's still stretched and pixely. Game itself is (probably) fine, at least I haven't noticed characters looking too horribly skewed, so I guess the rendering actually works, but you won't get a proper fullscreen experience without an external tool. And the windows cursor will always be visible, you have to move it to the side or down to get rid of it. This also means that the game will exit big picture mode if you try to launch it from there (overlay for steam controller and controller configs still work fine).
UPDATE: Cutscenes are horribly squeezed, although gameplay rendering works fine.
TB, please add an annotation about this, this is a deal breaker to some, I am sure.
Have you checked out this post from cj? The issue here seems to be more complicated than just simple piracy, as it apparently affected many well-reputed and trusted sites too such as GMG. As far as I can see, there was no clarification of how the keys were "illegitimate" or "stolen" either, leading some to claim that it was because of greed on Rebellion's part. (Of course, this version of the story is also not fully evidenced!)
Dragon Age Origins is even cheaper on the Origin website, it's 2.49 euro as opposed to the 4.99 euro that is on Steam.
I really do like Salebox and idea. There's just SO MANY other ways to aquire games for cheap other than steam. One of best ways to keep up to date for sales is actually http://isthereanydeal.com/
Of course with salebox it's good to hear opinion but for games that is must get already it's easier to add that title to wishlist and wait for email notification.
It's not Anno 2070, but if you liked the Anno series and look for something like that, have a look at Unknown Horizons ( http://www.unknown-horizons.org/ ).
The project is a little slow on the progress made lately, but it's fun and the developers welcome everybody to give some feedback or contribute.
40mb, 600kbps and 720p maximum for free users and TB would say "Anime bullshit"
I just remembered I watched this on niconico. Made me mad that Sega chose 1080p instead of 60fps - on a fucking rhythm game. Well at least Dreamy Theaters are actually 60fps. http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm20377739
Did you know that you can just put a "+" behind any bit.ly link (like this) to be directed to an information page about the link instead of the actual link? It's an easy way to find out where the link leads without actually clicking it and thus avoiding the risk of malware.
EC's patreon page also lost a few hundred dollars per month. They were at about 10 280 per month a day ago, currently at about 10 029. They made a big deal out of passing the 10K milestone, and it looks like they might go back behind it. EC needs to make a public and proper statement, no more "tweeting" back and forth.

Ignore anyone who says use UnityScript: Use C# instead. You'll just be wasting your time and have to learn C# later anyway when you want to do serious work.
So nice to hear your thoughts about 'block building' games that are spawning a new genre. This seems to match my own personal opinions and definitely matches a lot of my gameplay design ideas and goals for Vox.

That's what my friends did, and it worked for them. Try to make a clean Steam install, and then launch it via TunnelBear. Sorry, that's the only advice I can give you. If you still can't do it, PM me, I can activate it for you if you trust a stranger.

If TB is gonna continue the mobile F2P game segment every week then I would recommend Game of Dice. Might even be a good lite co-op lounge board game since it's online multiplayer. It would also be interesting to know their opinion of its F2P model from the perspective of someone like Dodger who doesn't do in-app purchases and TB who has essentially become a "whale" in these games.
The hell? What have I been playing on Android then? I swear I played a game like this a year or two ago.
EDIT: There we go. I'm a little bit confused.
EDIT2: Or did you linked the wrong game here?
EDIT3: Ok, it was the wrong game :) Confusion averted.
I think this should be included from this post from Genna: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0BzN90CC_xhvDbE1UUmhIdWg3aGc&usp=sharing

Okay, according to Steamdb.info, it's a DLC pack which is only available as a third party cd key activation.
Upon further research, it seems that ~~this website~~ was once used for distributing these keys, and it says they only had 3000 keys available for distribution.
> the story is kind of lack luster and its the multiplayer that's the meat of the game.
Ahhahahahahahha, no. The single player is more or less the highlight of the game, and while the multiplayer is a fun addition, it's lackluster and feels very tacked-on, like it was a check box they had to tick off before launch. Exterminatus is better than PVP, in every way. Compared to the single player, it feels like it's what the multiplayer was meant to be in the first place, and not Space Marines and Chaos marines going toe-to-toe with each other. It feels more like the single player campaign, as it should be. You're supposed to feel like the hulking man-tank that Space Marines are, mowing down legions and legions of xenos filth, and going up against equally skilled enemies takes that sense of power away.
Some "journalist" in Gamespot gave this game a 3 rating because the UI was bad. Damn I love game journalism, thanks TB for another good review.
Well it is pretty much consistent with the previous installments of the series.
Cammy from SF2
Rose from SF Alpha
Both where introduced in those respective games.
And while the introduction of 3D made things more plastic and round it stayed close imo.
You can have a menu not be super-exciting as well as not being bland though. I've always quite liked the menu from KotOR. It looks like something from Star Wars, you've got a Sith there, you've got some ominous smoke floating around the bottom of the screen. It's not super exciting, but there's a good deal of character.
If you are at X meters from your screen, facing it, and your screen is Y meters width, your perfect FoV is 2*artan(X/2Y).
Here is a jsfiddle I just made calculating it.
EDIT : it works on the horizontal FoV, but if you use your height of screen instead of width, you will have your vertical FoV.
I thought TB absolutely detested giving scores to games because they are absolutely meaningless and sometimes go as far as to hurt the developer (like when crap like this happens)
So even though the dev took the moral high ground, I feel the need to point out that the clones are taking over: that's right folks, now people are making shameless clones of a clone.
Mobile gaming is unredeemable
Yeah, it's true that NAND cells are rated for a specific number of reads and writes and HDDs are not, I've found them to remain reliable as an OS drive, and I've put mine through quite a bit, and its SMART E9 indicator (which reports the number of cycles the NAND has been through) rates its expected remaining lifetime as 90%, and the drive is already three years old, makes use of the less reliable MLC NAND, and is only 80GB in size. It's read 5.8TB and written 17.45TB over its lifetime.
However, the power problems appear to be present in other SSDs, and power failure does cause them harm in the majority of cases. There are ways around this that I've read about, and one of those is a capacitor array within the drive, one of which is incorporated into my Intel 320 Series drive, and some others. My drive reports 136 separate unsafe shutdowns, and I think that this capacitor bank might be the only thing that's kept it alive.
Anyway, manufacturer warranties of five years or more are becoming standard for SSDs, and it's easy to schedule a daily backup of a small SSD's data on your mechanical drive.
RAM is controlled by the processor, loading and unloading pieces of information at the command of the program being used. It'd have to be programmed into the game to load more into excess memory, though a similar thing could be achieved by installing the game to a RAM disk, but the disadvantages of that are obvious. I have never seen this done for a game, and with consumer computers having anywhere from 4 to 32GB of RAM nowadays, and consoles only having 8GB (and can only use 6 due to system reserved resources), I don't think any developers will choose to.
Ubisoft hasn't and I doubt it will back out of steam. If they did, I'd have to consider whether or not I wanted to buy their software carefully. Uplay is frickin terrible and every time I open a game in steam to have it open a login to uplay, I hate it. I don't have any ubisoft games installed currently, and no uplay, and i like it like that.
EA has origin, which has a lot of detractors, but origin already offers a semi fair return policy that isn't actually dependent on in game time like the steam policy. Technically you have 24 hours after you launch the game, or 7 days after you buy the game, or 30 days if you can't get it to work due to technical difficulties. I could play an entire COD campaign in a day and return it, if I was interested in abusing the policy.
https://www.origin.com/en-ca/great-game-guarantee-terms
realistically, I boycott EA so its never been an issue. I don't even have origin installed.
Bethesda's games that interest me aren't multiplayer. they don't need a launcher or multiplayer things. They are launching an FPS soon, so we'll see if they make the connection service in game or something like blizzard's battle.net client.
At 10% off - no thanks.
http://isthereanydeal.com/waitlist/ works fairly well, though, then I just have to hope I will not be out of touch/traveling and do the find/log in or register/pay thing. Would be so much easier to just tell Steam "Hey, when the price goes down to X, charge my credit card."
You could check the VODs creator's playtest streams of the real version over at https://www.twitch.tv/maxistentialist/profile They like to show everything to the viewers, but I think they will also sometimes not.
Instead of listing lots of good games that TB hasn't covered I'm instead just going to give you tips about purchasing games in general.
Think hard about how many hours your going to get out the game and whether that's enough to justify the price.Of course you can't always predict the time or enjoyment you're going to get out of a game prior to purchase but watching/reading reviews , watching gameplay, demos and checking here can help. Although watching gameplay and reviews can potentially negates part of the initial fun discovery, it can save money and time (written reviews have a lesser effect). Minutes playing a demo has saved me money and time, despite it not including all the features it still represents the core gameplay in most cases.
Finally, be strict and honest. You could be influenced into buying a game because of a: friend, streamer, youtuber, sale. Don't let this affect your judgment.Accept that you will only play a hour ,or even less in some of my cases, before you are bored of a game and move onto looking into something else.
This has helped me find games that deserve my attention while saving me lots of money and time. Hopefully this helped!
Give it a chance. EA is now giving one free game per month. For May it's Plants vs. Zombies GOTY. Here are the details: https://www.origin.com/en-gb/store/on-the-house
And you don't need to download origin client to play this game.
