Here is my entry for the latest contest!
Context: Soon the World cup will start, and Brazil's first game will be in the 17 of june, but there are a lot of riots in this little big country, even more so after the trucker's strike.
All in all, I did pretty well in the contest, placing 25th. This was so far the most artistic comic I made, it is basically one panel but it took around 5 hours to make... I need to get gud.
Congratulações to everyone who participated, especially /u/Blackfire853, for his first hussar wings, out of the many more to come for our angry Irish mod.
So the context seems to be this. The EU doesn't want to ban cheese just enforce trademark names that are already protected inside the EU.
Apparently commonly used names like Feta are reserved for cheese coming from the greece mainland and the prefecture Lesbos. Others have to label their products feta-like, greek-style or something like that. The same goes for Parmesan which must come from Parma, Italy.
Midlyinteresting: today is exactly 8055th day since USSR ceased to exist.
Edit: proper formulating would be actually 'OP indeed did math'.
Interesting fact: During late 1950s to early 1990s Soviet Union had more than 400 000 students of African decent.
This means at odds of 400 000 to 250 million (estimate Soviet population at 1950) I may have black blood inside me without me knowing anything of its.
That feel when I blood will never be purest :(((
Knowing Russia, it should've been Yandex.
While you're on Yandex, go to it's maps service, go to St. Petersburg, turn on street view, and click on one of the hot air balloon icons.
I'm afraid I can't take the blame personally as I've never tried whale meat. I've been told that it's not that great, though, so I don't really understand why we still keep whaling.
Anyway, our whaling is super humanitarian because we blow whales up instead of just stabbing them slowly to death, so no big deal, right?
I've noticed some Frenchies being butthurt ITT. To answer all injured butts I'll take the honor to quote Wikipedia.
">France has participated in 168 major European wars since 387 BC, out of which they have won 109, drawn 10 and lost 49: this makes France the most successful military power in European history - in terms of number of fought and won."

Not exactly a program but it's rather complied list of etnic slurs. If you want to be a good racist a little creativity with your ethnic slurs takes you a far way.
Other than that I would recommend playing GTA IV or more specifically do missions with Little Jacob without subtitles with you want to learn Jamacan English.

>The Jewish pattern of history, past and future, is such as to make a powerful appeal to the oppressed and unfortunate at all times. Saint Augustine adapted this pattern to Christianity,Marx to Socialism. To understand Marx psychologically, one should use the following dictionary:
>The terms on the left give the emotional content of the terms on the right, and it is this emotional content, familiar to those who have had a Christian or a Jewish upbringing, that makes Marx's eschatology credible. A similar dictionary could be made for the Nazis, but their conceptions are more purely Old Testament and less Christian than those of Marx, and their Messiah is more analagous to the Maccabees than to Christ.

interesting. I didn't see that before. It is the M/V Pimrose, stranded in 1981. After that fights broke out:

Ah yes, Charles V
We stopped caring a long time ago. Actually, it's really weird to read a text that uses only germanic words, such as uncleftish beholding. A lot of these words are so archaic that you wouldn't know them unless you spent a long time reading Old and Middle English literature.
Now give use your words. All of them.
The PC master race would never have let our PC's explode! We would just accidentally make them go into a thermo-nuclear meltdown because we ran out of liquid nitrogen to keep our over clocked CPU cool.
Interesting fact: Apparently the Icelandic Phallological Museum holds the world largest collection of penises in the world. The collection features both human and animal penises.
Also here's(semi-nsfw) the tip of a blue whale penis.
The reason why Taiwan is there. I grew up in an Asian country, we learned a lot about Japanese cruelty and atrocities during WW2, but not much about Nazi Germany. All I knew about Nazi Germany growing up was they had cool tanks and cool uniforms...

Ohh TIL Finland was a Kingdom, always fun to learn new stuff. I knew about the Civil war and German support just not the monarchy angle on it.
Appearently the brother-in-law of Wilhelm II was going to be the King of Finland
> ironic, too, since it's like the complete opposite of floss
Not really as "floss" means "fluffy fibrous material" like rough silk so it's literally the perfect word.
I would guess that "dental floss" gets its name from being floss that is spun/twisted into a thread. After using it it usually breaks down into a fluffy fibrous material for me anyway.
True, perhaps the better phrase would have been "are open enough." I don't mean to call him a hack, the fact that The Art of War can be applied to so many different situations is a testament to the work.
B-b-but... Russia wasn't the perpetrator. Ukraine just enjoys pointing his nonexistent fingers at Russia over literally anything.
Rebels pissed off at our poor governmental administration and are in favor of separating to join Russia instead? Obviously, the Russian are declaring war on us. Plane shot down 30 miles away from Russia/Ukraine Border? Must've been Russia. Daryl from Accounting forgot to finish the economic report for the third quarter by today? That damned Russia-loving backstabber is trying to sabotage the company.
Yes. We even got a province that wouldn't exist if it wasn't for that we poldered the heck out of the sea. It's all perfectly safe but I wouldn't actually want to life there. Flevoland such a boring place…

The more I think about it the more it starts to sound a combination of a hyena and Brazilian. Instead of "Huehuehuehue" you hear "häyhäyhäyhäy" and bang.
Haha sorry! I was making a lame joke. Exorbitant Privilege is the title of a book by economist Barry Eichengreen. In it, he argues that the status of the American Dollar as a reserve currency means that it makes its goods and exports more expensive to export and thus damages its economy. In tradeoff, it acquires the ability to essentially borrow as much as it requires to finance its deficits.
In the same sense, I think the status of the United States as the sole superpower is a privilege. It allows the United States to dictate policy around the world as it sees fit with less input from other nations, certainly less than any other superpower in the history of the world has. However, that comes with the implicit responsibility for the state of the world, including what wars break out and how nations interact with one another. As the foremost state in the world order, other states will blame you for whatever the outcome of a situation is. Thus you are indeed damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Now I've been out of Polandball for a while, so in return I don't know and am curious what "pulling a De Gaulle" is!
Especially on Lupkow Pass, where there's literally one damn AA placement in the middle of an objective
I was playing as on of the side guns on the airship last night and just getting kill after kill after kill and nobody could stop me and it was, honestly, sickening. Didn't really feel fun or balanced.
And still they beat us and held the damn objectives.
He's right.
You can actually see the moment the referendum happened
GBP to EUR was trading at 1.3108 on Jun 24 2016 (The day after the referendum.)
It is currently trading at 1.16

About Magellan and his travels in Latin America and then in the Pacific. The dude was a literal psycho.
And then there was President Nixon:
> You know, it's a funny thing, every one of the bastards that are out for legalizing marijuana are Jewish. What the Christ is the matter with the Jews, Bob? What is the matter with them? I suppose it is because most of them are psychiatrists.
-- Statement (26 May 1971) as quoted in Newsweek (27 May 2004)
> Many Jews in the Communist conspiracy. ... Chambers and Hiss were the only non-Jews. ... Many thought that Hiss was. He could have been a half. ... Every other one was a Jew — and it raised hell for us. But in this case, I hope to God he's not a Jew.
-- Nixon, Haldeman, and Ronald Ziegler, 2:42-3:33 P.M. Oval Office Conversation #524-7; cassette #775 (17 June 1971)
> The Jews are irreligious, atheistic, immoral bunch of bastards.
-- Nixon to Bob Haldeman (1 February 1972) as quoted in Counterpunch (March 12, 2002)
> I can't ever say that, but I believe it.
-- Responding to Rev. Billy Graham's assertion that the Jews have a "stranglehold" on the media that "has to be broken or the country's going down the drain." Quoted in The New Yorker (15 April 2002)
Thanks. I did a little searching, found an article I thought would discuss Belarus v Russia, but instead talks mainly about a new law on tax evasion with page-slowing ads, but even this one indicates Belarus has a fond view of Russia.
Amartya Sen wrote a big paper about that. It was a pretty interesting read, (though dense as hell and difficult to understand) and pretty much directly contradicted Yew's claim. I don't remember how exactly Sen explained Singapore's success, though.
well, his father (the Queen's husband) is batshit crazy too, so it isn't really surprising.

Global warming is actually the reason behind record breaking snowfalls in some areas of the globe.
For example, I live in Buffalo, which is a city prone to lake effect snow storms. The storms come in from Lake Erie. Usually, snow tends to slow down in January/February because the lake is at least partially frozen over and it becomes harder for lake effect storms to pick up steam as they cross the lake.
However, it’s been over five years (probably more I haven’t been counting) since the lake has even partially frozen over. Which means that despite overall warmer winters, Buffalo is getting MORE snow than we usually do. Our average annual snowfall is about 90 inches but last winter we blew that out of the water.
This article doesn’t go into the causes, but it talks about buffalos increased snowfall over the past few years.
They did.

Frequently attributed to Twain; as yet unsourced.
"Most quotes attributed to people on the internet were never actually said by them." — Zarathustra.
"Förgrömmade unge!", which means something like "damn kid!" It's from a 70s Swedish kids' TV and film series about a prankster kid called Emil. That's again based on an older book series. (Same author as Pippi Longstocking, which you may know.) I've thrown in a few references to that in the comic.
I think a long history of mutual raiding in early middle ages, a war caused by your king (plus one extra war a bit later), negotiations for an union that included another war and some annexation, two and a half centuries of constant rivalry and scuffle between Lithuanian and Polish magnates and the entire XIX century when arrogance of Polish nationalists could only be matched by perversity of their Lithuanian brothers can seldom be considered a scratch.
But who cares, we just love to have at least one neighbor who hates Russia as much as we do. ^(and is not half-Russian himself)
Overly a contiguous part of the USA over Europe, also note the population of the USA is roughly 320 million, & the population of the EU is roughly 500 million.
Forget for a moment a/any/the cultures, ideologies, & politics; the comparison between America & a given European country (or collection there of), there are some huge differences in scale... I'm not saying they absolutely can't, but it's a bit of a shock to the system whatever way methinks.
Just a quick point. The Naziball portrait in the background of NATO headquarters is kind of wrong. The de-Nazification of west Germany created a culture were the Nazi era was pretty much a black hole for them. At the same time the East German army kind of glorified their WW2 heritage. So the picture would be more approriate for an East German headquarters.

Photoshopper (?) comic maker here.
I personally draw each panel separately (usually in a 960x640 canvas), export it as a separate .png and then make a new final file (a long one) of 960x[thousands] pixels, place every panel manually and then export everything as a final .png file.
If the final file is too large, you can always use tinypng.
Now, I've taken the time to write this, be gentle and flair up pl0x :D
If you go on youtube you can go right beneath the video and find a share icon. It will generate a link you can copy right at the time you want it to.
My point it is that I want to tighten up the comments section. I will delete as well if it turns into a video channel...
I am more concerned with "Actually" walls of text but I am going to throw out a few guidelines to start out with and eventually I won't wanna discuss every time. I will just remove stuff.
> to leave your country and your people trying to find food and money
is almost never illegal except in a few authoritarian regimes like North-Korea and maybe China.
What's most often illegal is to come in another country without being authorized.
If you want to understand how law is made, why not ask your MP/congressman, you know, the people you vote for occasionally ... The parliament of your country probably has a web site, that could be a starting point.
Now, should you prefer your country to have an open border policy and do feel it would be better to accept any immigrant that show up at the border, you may vote for a candidate who supports this, if you find any, or be a candidate yourself.
Here in the EU any EU citizen can live and work and settle in any EU country, as well as vote or be elected to local or european elections. It took us only two world wars and 60 years of negociation to achieve that, if that's any indication how difficult that is. Maybe in a distant future this will be true worldwide and we'll be all citizens of Earth ...
You may ask why there are countries at all, and why countries have borders. A starting point could be the Treaties of Westphalia. Another vista can be found in the Chines classic The Art of War by Sun Tse, or the rich history of the Roman Empire.
As to sending money home, well, it's complicated too. Money is complicated, and its relation to states is almost mystic, but it is a fascinating topic.
Bundle theory. Hume accidentally proved that humans don't exist and Kant had to fix it.
Or at least that's my understanding. I've only been doing philosophy for a semester, so I haven't read a lot about Hume outside of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance and 3 Minute Philosophy.

It's really interesting because in French "pomme de pin" ("pine apple") means pine cone... So I always thought it was called a *pine*apple because of it's similar shape.
look, when you give me a way to circumcision during adulthood without any pain then you can give them the choice. because most people who did it during adulthood regret not doing it when they were babies. also here is your citation https://www.mayoclinic.org/tests-procedures/circumcision/about/pac-20393550 also i have seen the same being said about vaccines, and frankly, the risks are more rare than you may think, i am circumcised and i have no problems at all.

The world was fucking ruled by women for CENTURIES.
"Despite their eventual conversion to Christianity, their adoption of the French language, and their abandonment of sea roving for Frankish cavalry warfare in the decades following their settlement in Normandy, the Normans retained many of the traits of their piratical Viking ancestors. They displayed an extreme restlessness and recklessness, a love of fighting accompanied by almost foolhardy courage, and a craftiness and cunning that went hand in hand with outrageous treachery. In their expansion into other parts of Europe, the Normans compiled a record of astonishingly daring exploits in which often a mere handful of men would vanquish an enemy many times as numerous. An unequaled capacity for rapid movement across land and sea, the use of brutal violence, a precocious sense of the use and value of money—these are among the traits traditionally assigned to the Normans." http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/418283/Norman

Have you tried Duolingo? It helped me a ton with Spanish (it doesn't work as a sole learning resource obviously, but because of the text production aspect I'd say it's still quite good). It does not work technically at all, it's all learning by doing.
Your way is the best way to go! For me at least. Did you dabble into German originals? We have plenty good literature at hand, but in the series and film department Germany is really lacking. I could recommend you some stuff though if you want.
P.S.: Your sentence has two small errors: "[...] mit ein*em* Schwert [...]" (Dativ!) and "Schießerei" (You put an L after the Sch, schließen = close, schießen = shoot).
Not exactly mate. You see in order to keep the illusion of being a westernized country, freedom of speech is technically in the 14th Article of the Constitution of Singapore. However, clause 2 prevents any speech that is critical against the government, which has essentially scared the media, made the local culture bland and as a result is causing much dissent with the country who believe that they no longer have a need to pawn their rights for economic progress, especially since our economy has stalled. The websites they block, we'll just use NordVPN or something. But Reddit isn't one of them cause truth is that they'll collapse anytime now. My name is Justin Wong, age 17 and I hope in the near future to run as a young lawmaker in the year 202X. I want a Singapore free enough to voice criticisms, a robust democracy and most of all: Actually original and interesting entertainment not poorly copied from the western world

Probably it's because in Tonga you can still fully see the cross without the eyes getting in the way while that might be a problem for Switzerland
Yes, yes you poor thing. That's the demographic NOW. It's not the demographic when GM was actually making cars in Detroit itself up to the 1960's.
Here's some stock footage https://www.shutterstock.com/de/video/clip-3910124-1930s---american-car-automobile-factory-workings
Have you ever been there? Have you read about the great migration? Did you not hear of white flight? The riots at the end of the 60s? Coleman Young? The black people who live in Detroit now, sure as hell do not all work for GM. GM's percentage of their entire US workforce is 17% black.
There was never a black majority in US automaking. Ever.
And IF there was they would have been fucking thrilled to be there. You have no clue what the fuck your were drawing about.

you know what dowsing is ? Every mayor city in the american continent was built by masons , some with more knowladge , some with less , but every single important city was built in order to make the energy from important building go in X direction . The most important buildings in buenos aires are the congress , casa rosada and tribunales . If you connect the 3 of them they form a triangle , in the middle of the triangle is the great lodge of argentina . Take into consideration all this buildings were made in different periods of time , yet they somehow manage to make it all fit perfectly , that is something very few cities in the world manage to acomplish . Either way , don't want to keep writing about this honestly lol . Here you go , made you this . https://gyazo.com/81dc59c3f8b97ab086f2d59afd2a9f89
