Joey is a reddit app, and there are 3 big things that I love about it.

1) It mimics collapsible comments from the desktop site, I used to use the desktop site in chrome before this, and while I am still getting used to using an app for reddit on my phone, this is the biggest thing holding me back

Try joey for reddit. It's one of the best reddit app. It's free and there are no ads as of now. It gets regular updates. Other good reddit apps has ads in free version. For your usage joey is a perfect choice.

I have this exact problem with the "continuous mode" or whatever it's called (the mountain icon in the upper right). I cannot scroll by gesture if I want to use my thumb. Happens in my OP6T and my older OG Pixel XL

You should try other reddit apps that has options to control data usage. I don't know which one is better in terms of saving data. I am using joey for reddit. It has several data usage options to reduce data. You should also disable background data for apps from Android settings.

Open joey for reddit. From settings go to Data usage. And change those options to this. It will save you data when you watch videos, photos and load comments. Also don't use Autoplay video/gif option.

I used to use Slide, but I've been really enjoying Joey for Reddit.

Slide is the best FOSS Reddit app imo. The alternatives on F-Droid are red reader and diode.

This has been on going for months. The key reason I haven't paid for this yet, as it does this multiple times a day.

Either that, or the phone simply didn't have enough RAM (=memory), so it can't keep both applications running. OP can you check your RAM? The debug info the bot here is asking for should have it.

I have the same problem when scrolling through threads after clicking on one of them, then opening another app and going back to joey after a while

Some imgur links work fine, while others show this, even though they work fine outside of Joey.

I've had it happen before too, but none today. It might help the dev if you share a link that's broken for you so he can poke around it to see if it's specific to the link or the app.

I'm also having this issue, all of a sudden. Redirect links (like to imgur) work fine. But the last couple days, almost any time I try to open a link using the internal browser, it just hangs up right at the beginning of loading. I'll edit this with my stats, as I'm on my PC right now.

Edit: There may be a pattern here. It seems that it's only link opened from the main view. If I open one from comments, it seems to work pretty consistently. I'm not 100% on this yet, but I'll keep looking and make any updates necessary.

Unlike some people (read: Reddit Sellouts), some prefer to browse on mobile and not get an app. Why? Because a website has less power than an app. Whilst an app has a physical location on your phone, takes up physical space, etc., A website is just a URL in a browser, nothing else.

Plus, the Official Reddit App has some draw backs. Not only are their ads annoying (and unblockable), but you're just stuck to just the stuff in the app. The website version allows you to get some extensions to enhance your experience.

However, all of this is subjective. Maybe unblockable ads are actually a good thing. I personally use an unofficial Reddit client (Joey for Reddit) for on the go, and the website for home uses. You're entitled to your opinion as I am, I'm just sharing why I (personally and subjectively) think you're somewhat incorrect in this matter.

After the most recent update about 50% of imgur links result in an error message when previewing (tap and hold on post) or opening in the app. Opening externally works fine.

Linked content is an example of tapping and holding, then opening a post, and finally opening it externally.

Mr Boost, go to Settings > Media > Image viewer: Load HQ images by default + Load zoomed in

Then go to Settings > Media > Image viewer: Disable swipe to dismiss or change the swipe direction to close images.

Or get rid of Boost, try <strong>Joey for Reddit</strong>

I've tried Sync and all other third party apps. Joey is my favourite. You can not only filter out posts by keywords, you can filter them out by their content type (e.g. videos when your net is slow, articles, self posts). It's only for Android. Read "About the App" for more info.

Actually I should clarify, in official Reddit app it shows the player and I can tap play button which then turns into pause button, but nothing happens and time stays at 0:00. Error in both Joey and ImgurViewer.

I often notice this on text bases articles that have horizontal scroll. It scrolls for the first half second and then tries to take me back to the the post I came from.

Through searching on this subreddit i assume that showing images in post is standart feature in Joey, so displaing only links looks like bug to me.

I've reported this ages ago, and others have too, I even sent a screen recording of it happening to the dev on request.

Причем прочитанные оттуда убираются сами. Такая схема мне нравится. Как это работает на десктопе, или других клиентах, я, к сожалению, не знаю. А со структурой формирования лент и как работает Following я так и не понял до конца. А ковырять лень.

Happens to me as well. I always press the home button, then reopen Joey to remain in the same subreddit, otherwise I have to press back and return to front-page for Joey to unglitch.

So I have a minor complaint regarding the UI. The padding in the comment section is different than the posts view.

Would love to have the comfortable padding of the posts in the comments section. The rounded corners matches my phone screen better, and the padding keeps texts away from glare on my curved phone screen.

your usage might vary from mine, but here is some apps that I personally prefer:

• Joey for Reddit - hands down best Reddit app with loads of customizability options and dev is active and usually responds to queries pretty fast.

• PocketCasts - this is a paid app, and is really good and well built app. For a free option, you might wanna take a look at Podcast Addict.

• F-Droid - open source android apps and has quite a good collection of apps, including apps like Wikipedia, Newpipe. If you need help setting it up, I can help in that too.

• Inoreader - I use Inoreader which I have found to be far better in terms of usability and stability and looks compared to feedly. You can also link it to Readably which is another app that can get your content from inoreader.

• BlackPlayer EX - for all your local music needs.

• Solid File Explorer - to manage your files and folders.

• Firefox Browser - has addons support, so you can install Ublock Origin and a few privacy related addons to make your mobile browsing experience better. Over that, there is an app called Firefox Klar on F-droid which is basically similar to Firefox Focus, but apparently it has an open source repository on github.

I can't replicate it easily, but it shows up quite commonly on any sub or frontpage feed.

You can make all sorts of things, it's especially useful on mobile because formatting text is a bit of chore

I've removed the link handling related to twitter domains, but this still happening.
