Good thing i don't DNS switch, i just use Nord VPN!
And you can also prevent the rape of a 5 year old by using Nord VPN. Nord VPN keeps your data safe on your phone, tablets, PC, Laptop, everything! They encrypt your data even when you're on public wifi, like at a starbucks or a hotel or wherever, and they're the only VPN to get a perfect score from pcmag.
They have thousands of super fast servers across 62 countries and its so easy to switch from country to country (which is my favourite feature!)
You see, we really need VPN in nepal in this day and age. You want to watch porn but Nepal has banned most if not all such websites (even hentai!!) And DNS switch isn't safe because everytime you do it, a 8year old gets raped in some corner of Nepal. But if you have NordVPN, you can change your location and BAM you can access all the sites banned in Nepal and you can do that without having to worry about a 6 yearold getting raped because of you, you can enjoy your daily fap guilt free!
Start protecting your internet surfing today with 90% off a 3 year plan with code "norape", goto You can get it on Android, IOS, windows ANYTHING!
Again, its , enjoy your daily masturbation sessions guilt free!
Yes, watching on HBO premium.
For those who are asking, guys, you can simply use any of these 5 VPNs recommended by other Redditors for watching GOT Season 8.
I am using NordVPN without any issues at all.
One of the main problem with the history of Nepal is there are almost no written records. There are few stone tablets and tablets of few metals and temples but they are rare. Some of the earliest writings come from foreigners. While we have to keep in mind that they might be biased, they are the best we have. So keeping the bias in mind, An Account of the Kingdom of Nepal might be useful if you are looking for primary sources.
Although it is written almost after 50 years of victory in the Kathmandu Valley and after the Anglo-Nepal war, it might offer some insights of the demography of that era.

Also it is free book in Kindle and ibooks.
- Windscribe - 10 GB free, per month.
- Opera has a VPN, but it isn't exactly a VPN, it is a proxy that covers only your browser.
- ProtonVPN, for phones.
- Betternet.
- For a cheap VPN, NordVPN is the best. Or maybe try Express VPN.

where do you stay, in a village or a city?
This is one example of how people are using their houses, land https://youtu.be/VeffOHpMdK0?t=134
This is a good website to start: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Travel-g293889-c182318/Nepal:20.Important.Tips.For.Nepal.Travelers.html
The thing to note is that Nepal is a pretty backward country and you should not expect much luxury. If you are staying in a major city or town, there should be plenty of people who can speak English. Majority of the population is Hindu with a considerable Buddhist portion. Your religion and culture will be respected and for most of the time, no religious discrimination should arise. Just be sure not to insult or violate the religious grounds and temples. Just take it easy and try to have a good experience. You may find many problems but if you try hard Nepal is a pretty awesome country to visit. PS: keep in touch with the news, you never know which part of the country has transportation closedown. Good Luck and Enjoy.
OK I won't say I know all about trekking but I am avid trekker and I have done all of them unguided. Maybe I am Nepali so that helped too. But along the way I met lots of foreign people doing it without guides too so should be ok. What I suggest you is maybe find someone through a forum or something. There is really popular Google group called kathmandu kathmandu (link : https://groups.google.com/forum/m/#!forum/ktmktm) among expats. Maybe try to post there and see if someone wants to do it together. As they say in African proverb "if you want to travel fast, travel alone; if you want to travel far, travel together", trekking is far away walk and company makes it better. Good luck and enjoy your stay in nepal. Stay as long as you can out of kathmandu and enjoy amazing hospitality. Cheers.
I download PDFs from free book websites and use Calibre (a software) to convert those PDFs to MOBI format and upload it to the Kindle using computer/email or directly from the Calibre to the Kindle. Don't ever buy books (unless you don't find them in the internet), this Calibre has saved me a lot of money.
Use 'canva' for your youtube thumbnails. It is a website canva.com that will help you design in a very easy way. Most people won't click on your video because of your thumbnail as it is the first thing a viewer will see.
Thanks. My trek was good. We walked from bene to poonhill, gorepani and to kagbeni area, and then took a jeep to muktinath. It was tough but certainly worth the struggle. I would recommend that you get a comfortable shoes, decent running shoes should do. I was wearing converse shoes and ended up getting blisters all over my feet. Other than that, make sure that you take waterproof/windproof jacket.
Ill write more later in the day I'm sleepy right now. Check out these link too http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g293889-i9243-k6849785-Nepal_trek_recommendations-Nepal.html

I called it the asshole of Nepali journalism because it is indeed that. It posts poorly researched articles with catchy titles so that it gets clicked by idiots on facebook. I don't think half of them even read the article. It is the buzzfeed of Nepali sites. Indeed it gets lots of hits but it is mostly due to mindless idiots clicking the site because of catchy titles.
Name: ClassicTech
Speed in package: 20Mbps
Speedtest (fast.com): 32Mbps
Pros: That i get more than what i have subscribed for. I dunno how but speedtest.net shows the speed at 30-37Mbps which does translate to the actual download speed which is upto 12MBps (while i was once downloading a game) and usually is around 2-3MBps, Good customer support, actually cheap especially when you consider that they have a lot offers at different time of year, unbuffered 8k video on Youtube (I tested that just for fun), good if you have a lot of devices
Cons: I had a few problems when i first got the connection (something to do with fibre as i was one of the first customers after they installed new ports), the modem-router-WAP combo device they provide is not great, the WAP has a short range, router starts blinking red (indicating device failure), they dont have a separate modem-Router and WAP as vianet and some other ISPs do. So range extension has to be done with given device and if it fails, well, you're entire network is offline, if you have a local server for storing all your media, photos, videos etc, you're out of luck because they use some other format of connection of ports ki k(told by the server guy).
Suggested: ClassicTech itself. They have a lot of different plans, you are likely to find a good one for you. Quite cheap. The device failure and fibre problems were only in first 2 months of connection and its all good ever since. Not heard anybody complaining about it anywhere as they do with Worldlink or Subisu.
Fast.com by Netflix is the best speed testing site with which you will know what to expect from your connection or get real insight over your network connection. It doesn't provide you latency data though.

You are a fool if you think pyramid is complex structure. Egyptian created it exactly because it was one of the simplest structure to build at those time at such scale.
There is a very nice book written by L.S Bangdel on this very topic, Stolen Images of Nepal
https://www.amazon.com/Stolen-images-Nepal-Singh-Bangdel/dp/B0006EYSVM
Let me put this honestly: Bibeksheel Sajha has a bright prospect, but time and time again, their political strategy has been pathetic to say the least. Like OK, you have Rabindra Mishra and other famous faces in the party, but why do you need to be so overconfident to field yourself in the same region where you know, ethnic votes count a lot, you don't supposedly belong to the ethnicity and someone from a bigger party has been tapping on those votes for years and years? If you want to establish yourself as a national party by getting just 1 seat and then proportional votes, you probably need to field your strongest candidate in an area where other candidates have fielded candidates with lesser political pedigree, win it, and then take on the rest later. I find their strategy really naive; maybe they ought to properly read and understand 'The Art of War' by Sun Zhu or 'The Prince' by Niccolò Machiavelli before making their move in the next five years. It appears, Baburam Bhattarai and Naya Shakti played the strategy better than Sajha Bibeksheel, despite a far lower support base.
Inorder to learn about the market you have to be present in the market. Nothing helps better. If you want to become a good investor, there is no substitute to hell lot of reading and analyzing on your own. You seems to be newbie, I would advise you to invest small amount of money and keep tracking the progress of the company you have invested. By tracking I mean reading Annual reports & learning the terms mentioned in the report and analyzing on your own whether the condition in which the company is its good or bad and engage yourself in discussion but just listen to others, do not act on other's advise. If you donot have much time about it, do invest in mutual funds. Learn yourself various terms mentioned in Annual reports. The courses will tell you everything but they will not tell when its the right time to invest and all, so you have to analyse yourself. Read Basic book "The Intelligent Investor" by Benjamin Graham and many others just google it . you'll find free books or go to the nearby book shops. Remember, Be fearful when others are Greedy and Be Greedy when others are fearful Start small . go to nearby broker get Dmat and get going unless you involve yourself those courses are not going to help. Instead of course put that 20K in some company unless you have much to spare a few.

There is an app called "Nepali Movies channel" on google playstore. They have huge collection of best nepali movies. I ofen use it and recommend you too. Here is the link to download the app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nepalimovieschannel
You should download this app. Sab herne tv show haru ko timing time zone anusar milauchha. Ani premier bhaye pachi notification aauchha.
Look into A30. The specs are about the same, apart from 5000 mAh battery and an extra camera for depth sensor, which isn't that important. Comparison link
You can find A30 for around 27k right now. It got a price cut recently because A50 started selling like hot cakes and not this.
Definitely worth it. And I think it is a great deal for 450 round trip.
Lots of things to do in Nepal- Trekking, hiking, paragliding, bungee jumping, mountain biking, and of course sight seeing.
I haven't trekked myself but Everest and Annapurna base camp is about 14 days. How about Dhampus
Don't know much about rural life, but how about monasteries. I think some of them take tourists and I have seen monks showing tourists around.
One thing though, the ticket prices are much cheaper than 2400. Its usually around 1900 and sometimes you can find tickets for as cheap as 1200 round trip, off season of course.
If you want some of the best cookies and baked goods I've ever had, you must go to Fine Grains Bakery in Swayambhu. It's Nepali owned/run but they serve great pastas, sandwiches, and desserts.
Download the Alexa app apk from a third party source like https://apkpure.com/amazon-alexa/com.amazon.dee.app

Check:
The seven UNESCO World Heritage sites in Kahthmandu valley,
Pokhara, as you already mentioned,
Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, is also a UNESCO World Heritage site,
Chitwan National Park, also a world heritage site.
You can visit all of these areas without going higher than 2500m.
The 1960s were when Nepal really opened up to the world, bringing in tourists, researchers, academics, hippies, the lot. So that was when English-language writers started to really talk about Nepal.
Also, it seems that was when the current spelling of Nepal got standardised. Before that, foreigners spelled Nepal as 'Nepaul' as with the book 'An account of the kingdom of Nepaul' by Col William J Kirkpatrick. Just take a look at this graph: https://books.google.com/ngrams/graph?content=Nepaul&year_start=1650&year_end=2008&corpus=15&smoothing=3&share=&direct_url=t1%3B%2CNepaul%3B%2Cc0

I was able to successfully recover all of my data (around 500GB) off 1 TB HDD with the help of "ZAR Recovery" (http://www.z-a-recovery.com/) which imo is hands-down one of the best recovery software out there. If memory servers, it took me over 8+ hours to complete the scan of my HDD. And, then I copied everything to my friend's external HDD, then only formatted mine and copied everything back. Grab a full version of ZAR recovery from some blogspot or software sharing site.
I was stressed asf the whole time.
Don't Panic! Remember: PATIENCE IS KEY!
This is the 2020 one

38th in Internet affordability
80th in Internet quality
82nd in Electronic infrastructure
79th in Electronic security
73rd in Electronic government
https://github.com/julian-klode/dns66
Blockada or DNS66 are the best non-root adblocker. They are both open source and work by blocking DNS of ad hosting websites. However, it will slightly decrease battery life as it needs a constant background process.
The other option is to root your phone and install adaway (also open source) which doesn't decrease battery life but rooting your phone can be a pain and it will void your warranty.
I personally have a pi-hole setup on my network so I have network wide ad blocking.
NextDNS is a DNS service provider that points domain (website url) to its IP address. During the pointing process it can block specific IPs (e.g. tiktok, google ads, etc.) and block them. (Useful Article). It also has Parental Control to block certain Apps and enforce Safe Google & YouTube Search.
Just create an account in nextdns.io and the Setup Guide inside is hopefully understandable.
create wordpress.com account and play around. Next step is to setup wordpress on your local computer and try self hosted wordpress. Try making layouts using free plugins like elementor or other visual composer plugins. Try finding some themeforest theme and setup that theme just it was in demo site to learn all functionality. Next step is to learn about woo commerce and setup woo commerce site. Do try out famous plugins like Yoest SEO, Contact form 7 etc etc.
Finally learn some HTML, CSS, JS and PHP and you can try theme development after that. Make few themes and study OOP PHP and start learning plugin development.
Well that the road to take but it will take some time and effort to achieve all these.
Resources for learning: MDN, Youtube videos, wpbeginner.com and wordpress documentation.
Far Better than any other Nepali movie, I have enjoyed it last year on FoPi app movie last year during lockdown. This movie has new concept of storytelling and used new method of showcasing reality based situations like in our society. I would give 4.5 stars. Chopendra rocks !!
I know that channel too. I have watched his other strategy videos but not the one with vocabs. I use this app for vocab. It's really really great. It gives you something to think for each word which makes it easy to remember. For each day you can set no of reviews card and practice then each day. I also write those down to make a flashcard and review it often. So far going well.
Cool , you can crawl sebon.gov.np for right share on pipeline and approved right share as well and send alerts, if you aren't doing it yet
I crawl sebon.com.np myself for sending alerts through my app StockPortfolio - NEPSE
My bad!! I got it from amazon and they called it Logitech Pro Mouse here
I looked it up it’s called Logitech M720
First download this app : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.adm
And then, log in using your google account that was in your lost phone.
And you will be prompted to a screen with options I mentioned above. Its easy give it a shot
You can download another app called service manager: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nepdroid.NtcNcellServiceRemover This can help you to deactivate any services and Digital services they activate on your phone. Also you can check your usual account balance, recharge card scanner and it works for both Ncell and NTC.
The first thing I would suggest is buying a good mask. I got this from Amazon and it did the job: 3M 8511PB1-A-PS Particulate N95 Respirator with Valve, 10-Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002YKBV2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_5CB56wy2a2Vb8 . The thing I regret taking to Nepal were my white/biege or light color clothes. I'd suggest you take darker colored clothes as they would get dirty pretty quickly. You can get a light summer jacket but it might be hot in summer to wear that. Hot wipes, soft tissues and hand sanitizer as someone has already mentioned. Good sunscreen. Maybe lots of socks! And make sure you don't take expensive shoes to Nepal. The roads are dusty so take comfy ones... Enjoy Nepal. Its beautiful and very welcoming!
i did not get the pdf either from that link my intent was to show cover of complete book. on amazon available on paperback format ,https://www.amazon.com/Panzram-Journal-Murder-Thomas-Gaddis/dp/1878923145/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=a+journal+of+murder&qid=1559417842&s=gateway&sr=8-1 no luck.
Glad you got the joke lol. Anyway jokes aside there's an app. Link is here. First install the app. Basically what you do is, when you see a deleted comment, share the comment and select this app and it will show you the deleted comment. Doesn't work always but works most of time.
With free vpn the general rule of thumb is to use free trial of vpn that offer a paid option. Free tier of ProtonVPN is pretty good.
For paid options consider MullVad, self-host algolia, or pay for protonVPN
P.S VPNs like ProtonVPN, MullVad open sources its clients and conducts third party audits regularly by orgs like mozilla. You can read their transparency reports on their website.
You can just change dns for accessing blocked sites tho
External drives are nothing but adapters anyway .
Rather just buy an NVMe SSD and get one of these adapters.
You won't get the full performance of NVMe.. but you can later put it in your laptop or new mobos anyway.

I have created a Nepali dictionary Android App which has the following features: - Offline and. Online translation ( Nepali to english and vice-versa) - commonly used nepali phrases - quiz - Chat with other learners
P. S, The app is targeted among Nepalese as of now. Heres the link in case you want to try it.
Change your DNS... Slightly better security, comparatively faster internet speed and blocked sites work (at least PH and few others that I've tried)

PS. "entrepreneurship" isn't fun as portrayed in marketing material of college brochure. You might need to go beyond 10-5 in early days.
That guy up there is a proper DBag. He probably works for an aid agency. Or the government.
Look at all the various grassroots volunteers gearing up and going to help. They need people on the ground. I'm not going to nepal and feel super horrible that I cant help. I know various skeleton crews who could use a hand!
What's the capacity of your duffel bag? 30-40litres (I'm assuming). If you are going to goto remote places, you can carry some water filters (http://www.amazon.com/LifeStraw-LSPHF017-Personal-Water-Filter/dp/B006QF3TW4). Monsoon is coming and its hard to predict what is going to happen but prevention is always better than cure.
Otherwise your duffel bags can be used to fill up with supplies at volunteers hq.
If your friends said they need you you should go. If my family said come, I would immediately leave everything here and jump on next plane. Thankfully they are okay right now and I am trying to help in whatever other way there is.
If you do decide not to go, you can help grassroot youth volunteers. These guys form groups, buy stuff, then trek it out and give it to villagers in need. There are a lot of small teams like this. You can distribute your funds among various groups. If you want to know some, PM me and ill give you list.
Let me know if there is any way I can help you.

So this app I Need Blood got kinda popular on Facebook for a while, then to nobody using since.
I think its kinda screwed up that I haven't seen many successes in app development for Nepal. Even developers in Nepal outsource their labor out !
The free Google street view app available on iOS and Android.
However it does take some patients and is quite fiddly to get right.
You need to take 40+ photos round all around in 360 degrees and make sure they line up properly.
You need an accelerometer in your phone (all iPhones) and some Android phones.
this one is not personal but looked pretty to me

I had seen it on instagram
Looks like you had one helluva time. You went to so many places that I've never been to even though I've lived in Kathmandu all my life. I have places like EBC, RARA,Shey Phoksundo and Upper Mustang to cross off my bucket list. It's tough to get friends and manage a common free time to go to these places.
This other article I found a couple of days ago also describes a similar experience. Enjoy your good life in pardesh.
I tried it few months ago. Quite a small lap but it's fun. It costs Rs. 500 for 10 (12 if you go with a group). You should try once. I got a picture of the kart and a short clip as well instagram.
It says export for nepal so the price should be Nrs 495. I mean retail cost in India seems to be INR 295
You're right. Its an awesome restaurant.
A little unnerving to have lassi with your legs dangling 20 feet above ground.
I heard that the earthquake shut down this place for good. I hope they reopen (if not already)
Remember, being nice and being a pushover are two completely different things. Being nice has worked out pretty well for me so far (I guess I'm fairly young so the world might still disappoint me). But I'm not a pushover.

I keep my major events journaled digitally. I use this app called Journey App. Been putting entries on it since 2016. I have to say it's been quite interesting seeing myself change within those years. The writing style, how I think, and how I handled situations. This Journal app is quite good as it's available on all platforms including Linux. It has a cloud sync feature with Google Drive.
I highly recommend this.
My are you taking protein supplement, you will mess up your kidneys. Better make at home, ask your mom and make a litto or sattu, Full of protein. I hade it myself. Cashews, almonds, walnut, sakhkhar. grind it, mix it and eat. 10k for protein powder that's a ripoff. If you really want to take protein, look for cricket powder https://www.amazon.com/Cricket-powder-made-100-22/dp/B00OMCTODQ . I have tried and it is amazing. I am not sure if you can find in Nepal.
Hey, if you have Spotify and you're cool with sharing your music genres you can download the app named Stats.fm for Spotify (available in both ios and play store). Sounds so much like an ad Imao. All you need to do is login with your Spotify account and its basically like a Spotify Wrapped but without the detailed numeric stats and just shows your playlists, top genres, songs, artists of past 4 weeks, 6 months and a year. You can go to the privacy section and turn off the things you don't wanna share with others. So if you read it all and its cool with ya, drop your profile links. Just don't forget to toggle into privacy section first.

I've been working on the Android App for NepaliUkhan.com for a while. Finally released it last week. Still working on adding more features.
NepaliUkhan.com and the app both feature lots of Ukhans (Nepali Proverbs) with meaning and translation in English and other info. Users can comment on a Ukhan or submit a new one. Here are the links for those interested:

Not even someone who's looted or killed thousands of people will ever feel that he did wrong. Hitler, Mussolini, Mao all of them massacred thousands of people with a smile on their face and you expect some chump to feel humble that he was born with a silver-spoon and acknowledge his privilege? Lol, grow up.
People will never think that they are wrong, or that they do not deserve it. Let me ask you this: do you deserve everything you have? Why? Why should you be able to be in comfort without having to care about your next meal ranting about some millionaire like a little bitch while other people have to sleep butt-naked in cold on empty stomach? Life is not fair. Deal with it.
There are millionaires who'll sing and then dance to their own tune. Why should that affect you? There are people who'll praise them for being born rich. Why should that affect you? There are people who will sit on their asses all day and watch these millionaires complain about how hard life is and how self-made they are. Why. Should. That. Affect. You?

I dont know about all of vedas but Adishankara have commentary of 10 major upanishad. Upanishad are end portions of vedas with philosophical teachings. if you want you can read it here.
But if you search for english translation of vedas you can find them. But they are often cryptic and dense. So, I recommend books with commentary just like the book I suggest you above.

Reading, thinking, and following the Stoic Philosophy and Stoicism can help you in positive thinking and can change your life tremendously. I am starting my day with The Daily Stoic by Ryan Holiday and it is helping me in positive thinking and affirmations.
I am a rai and I can assure you kumar is not as common as one might think. Equal if not more in use are bahadur, man, hang. So I guess he wanted something of a family tradition to continue not as a rai but as a family.
Also a thing about the Paruhang as Shiva. Paruhang is considered as Shiva but Paruhang is also considered the first man along with Sumnima as first woman, which is not an attribute that is assigned to Shiva. While the kirats have now a lot of aspects of hinduism but we were once known to be a group who had been described as " vigorous beef-eaters" is also something that has not been an attribute of hindus so using "kumar" in terms of relation to shiva sounds disingenuous.

you need to get a TV Box that has Google Certified androidTV OS or a FireTV Stick. All of those other TV boxes are Chinese junks running Tablet designed Android Custom ROMs.
My recommendation
Mi Box 4k
Mi TV Stick
FireTV Stick
Chromecast with Google TV
Any TV Box running https://www.android.com/tv/
remember fast.com is routed from India which means your internet is slower when you access other sites. Most sites aren't hosted in India. My internet has became too slow these days. I mean why give false hope? Who is going to regulate them?
Can I go to market and claim I provide 1gbps and provide like 100mbps?
u/nurojggwp, super frustrated vianet user here since a month. I might have raised 10+ tickets, fb chat, phone calls in these few weeks.
Issues:
My instinct says the issue increased significantly after few of my neighbor took new connection of vianet from same box. I asked vianet support guy and he was saying there are 8 customers on the distribution box. Could this cause issue because of distribution ratio with increase in number of connection from same distribution box.

I am tired of making calls to support, so thinking of switching to dishhome as they are new and with very low customers in my area.
you dont need the whole blockchain unless you're helping maintain it or need to access it for reading/writing info. to simply use bitcoin as money, setup a wallet from the list on : https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet then contact your local bitcoin exchange!
Take a few hours and go through this. He gives you essentially all the knowledge you need. Rest is just experience and getting burned.
When i said guide book I meant model questions book sorry*. Im not quite sure but you should buy the latest version of one that has questions by topic. Not just randomly given, but by topic hai. Because its going to be easier if you focus on one topic at a time and master it. But imo dont let yourself be overwhelmed by model questions right now, please do take some time to understand basic concepts, equations, and derivations.
Also, I cant recommend you this app enough, it really saved me during exams. Click here for the app It has all the notes and a good range of questions for you to practice with their marking schemes.
If you have any further questions or are struggling with a topic, feel free to contact me again.
I think you should do your research . Having a good understanding of fundamentals of finance and economics is vital when investing in financial instruments (FD,Stocks,Mutual Funds,Bonds...)
I think these books will help :
Invested by Daniel Town
The intelligent investor by Benjamin Graham
The Dhandho Investor by Monish Pabrai
Irrational exuberance by Robert shiller
If you're a beginner I suggest you start with Invested by Danielle Town You can download ebooks for free on
Edit : Also you'll need the jason zewig version of intelligent investor because the original version is too hard to read.
I seriously don't understand why the fact that this is a viral challenge bothers some people. So what if people are doing it for likes or validation? They are still doing a noble thing and it is a lot of work and it does not look easy.
> But Do we really need a challenge to keep our community clean?
Apparently the answer seems to be Yes, but again, not a big deal.
> I see people cleaning road side trashes. But where were they before this viral challenge?
Again, I don't think it matters why they didn't take initiative before. A lot of us didn't care about ALS or had even heard of it yet we dumped ice water over our bodies and donated money and it was a huge success, for a noble cause, and it increased awareness. It actually did a lot of good.
The Trash tag challenge had apparently started in 2015 but it didn't take off like this until an ecologist made it into the viral challenge that it is now. This shows you that these challenges can be instrumental in motivating people into taking action. Sure, may be many will stop doing it once the fad dies down, but let's also remember that there were people who were taking initiatives before this challenge started, and they will continue to do so, hopefully alongside many others that stepped up because of this challenge.
I like how this graph shows when the two spellings were in prominence. You can see "Nepaul" gradually falling out of prominence at the turn of the 20th century. https://books.google.com/ngrams/graph?content=Nepaul%2CNepal&year_start=1650&year_end=2008&corpus=15&smoothing=3&share=&direct_url=t1%3B%2CNepaul%3B%2Cc0%3B.t1%3B%2CNepal%3B%2Cc0
I feel it's about technology. Nepal was an exotic third world country, a foreign land and a new/hot term (meaning "unsaturated"). The dawn of 21st century means more tourists, more information and relatively less "exotic" land.
In case of China, we can see that the volume is greater as more people know about China as a country than Nepal.
For Bhutan, which is equally exotic like Nepal, the trend seems similar.
But yes, it's just a hypothesis.
Yes the undervalued price if you pay for insurance which will cost extra (from my experience, I have had no problems sending any products like clothes and shoes just to let you know). If your friends/family is living in the city, I'm sure they will find DHL/TNT which would be much cheaper for international service I think other than USPS(Govt mail to Po Boxes). If they are staying in a suburban area, then best bet would be UPS or Fedex which serves the majority of US. DHL and TNT will not be available there.
BTW what laptop are you buying? Just to give you a heads up, I just bought this HP 6th gen i-3 laptop few days ago with 8GB ram and its pretty good for Hi-end softwares for video editing, animation and multi-tasking fo $339. Bench mark is comparable to that of i-5 5th gen. Only prob is 720 P.
In my experience most routers above Rs 2000 have decent enough hardware for average home users. The real issue is with the firmware they come with, that's what limits their performance. Not to mention factory firmware are full of security holes.
Try OpenWRT instead and you'll be able to juice out every bit of performance out of your hardware. Here are some recommended platforms for OpenWRT. As in all Linux you can install packages on this firmware. If your hardware don't have enough memory to handle the package manager you can just flash it with a custom built firmware with the packages of your choice. Some cool packages might be a DNS server, adblocker or a something that checks for free channels around you and switches to it.
If you have some old desktop hardware lying around and you feel like spoiling yourself with some custom built enterprise grade router. There's a bigger monster called pfsense, check this out.
So apparently I DO smoke. But only the best havana vintage. Extra large. (O_O). That too while wearing a minnie-esque bow and holding my paint and brushes in the other hand (hey, can't do without 'em).
I hope everyone had fun! Those who couldn't make it, be sure to come for the next meet.
