If I remember right, Google bought this and it's now the backbone of Google Flights
edit
I was correct.
>On July 1, 2010 ITA agreed to be acquired by Google. On April 8, 2011, the US Department of Justice approved the buyout. As part of the agreement, Google must license ITA software to other websites for five years.
That also explains why every other site seems to use it. That 5 years is almost up, so it'll be interesting to see what happens in 2016.
You can book flights on Google instead of dealing with Expedia or Kayak. It's probably cheaper too
Booked a flight to LA 3 weeks in advance for $200, when I checked Expedia, flights are at least $25 more.
I think that's their old version, built about 5 years ago after Google bought ITA Software (who made the flight search system for Orbitz). The new version is https://www.google.com/flights/. And it's awesome.
Try dicking around in Google Flights.
I used to think it would cost $1000 to fly to Europe, but if you're patient, you can score some pretty great deals.
it took me 20 seconds to find a $300 Chicago-to-Paris round trip ticket.
Dude.
Little known fact: https://www.google.com/flights/
It got me a flight to Baltimore, Maryland for the post-Christmas holiday for $342. And it's pretty user-friendly, too!
Edit: Updated with more information!
According to /u/cheungster, the link only seems to provide the cheapest prices for airlines that advertise on Google. So do a little research into other airlines first, such as Southwest or, in /u/Dyzior's case, Peach Aviation for Japanese flights.
/u/riodancer also reminds us that if you're a student, under 26, or a teacher - look through [STA Travel](www.statravel.com). /u/FoxeWasWrong was able to save $700 through that website for a trip to Australia ($1700 >>>> $1000)!
Not a fantastic one, but South Africa for 500 Euro on a 5 star airline (its summer over there and they have tiny penguins):
Currently the cheapest rail fare from Manchester to London today is £52 one way.
The cheapest Ryan Air <em>return</em> ticket from Manchester to Barcelona today is £23.
A plane ticket from Birmingham AL to Orlando FL, roundtrip, is roughly the same distance as the round-trip in the article. The ticket, per the article, cost $60 (Roughly 42GBP). A roundtrip ticket from Birmingham to Orlando is $285.
Same distance. Same travel restrictions (neither require passport or anything, because one is in the Eurozone and the other is in the same country...), yet one is $225 dollars more.
Because the top response to you is such bullshit, I present to you that you are indeed getting fucked on airlines in the US.
Here's a fun one, ask them how this flight is possible. Santiago, Chile to Sydney, Australia in 14 hours. The same flight time as Los Angeles, California to Rome, Italy. Then ask them how that would be possible on this flat earth map It's fun to watch their brains try to cope with the cognitive dissonance.
Google already has a similar feature. Enter in your dates, leave the destination blank, and search.
Note that flights are significantly more expensive from the core of the US than the big metro areas.
LA to Barcelona in October: $417 (1 layover)
Iowa to Barcelona in October: $1524 (2 layovers)
I just randomly picked some airports and some off-season dates, but still wasn't expecting that much of a difference. And that's not even getting into the incomes in LA vs Iowa…
Besides the obvious that flying midweek will save you money, check out Google Flights. I just went to the Dominican Republic and was able to save abour $150 per ticket over Expedia/Priceline/Kayak, and the search tools let you make a lot more specific choices (like choosing exactly which nearby airports you want to fly out of).
Here are 2 links for you: http://matrix.itasoftware.com/ and https://www.google.com/flights/
I think Google bought the first one out and use it to power the second link any way, so I'd just recommend the Google flights service.
Mathematically, actually they are paying for you to go. While doing so they are still saving money.
Google search results say it could cost anywhere from ~$2,000 USD - ~$3,000 USD, not including the inspection fees as well as countless other fees they have to spend on shipping, so lets say it comes out to about 4, 4.5k.
Round trip tickets to Gothenburg start around $650 USD per ticket, so for 2 tickets: $1,300 USD. The limo and hotel combined with the plane tickets is still cheaper. I assume they own their own limos for this purpose and have a contract or partnership with the hotel getting discounted prices.
They can fly you there, limo you around, bring you on a tour of their factory and ship the car out as 'used' while still saving a decent amount. Of course, while you are there, you'd be paying for your own food, attractions or anything else you decided to do.
In the end, if you were to buy the car from a U.S dealership - NOT at listed price^(1) -, buy the plane tickets yourself, reserve the hotel, rent a vehicle to use while visiting and all the other costs, it would cost you more to do that than take advantage of this promotional offer Volvo has. In the end, it's a win win for both you, the customer and Volvo.
As for why exactly shipping a 'new' car costs far more than shipping a 'used' car. I'm not sure.

9 flights from Liberia to NYC tomorrow alone
You know how much work it takes to get past the screening? A single aspirin can do it.
This should end well...
You didn't mention which city you need to go to so we can't help you with cheap flights. Use Google Flights to help you find the cheapest flight.
https://www.google.com/flights
As for the boxes, use Japan Post's Sea Mail option (船便). It's the cheapest option to USA but has restrictive sizes. All the size information is on the page below:
You can get a round trip flight from Augusta, Georgia to New Orleans for $339. It's the cheapest one I could find for ya here.
Server change is also expensive. Just migrating your PC from the NYC servers to the London costs hundreds of dollars. If you want to bring your equipment with you, it's extra.
I got you. If you don't mind flying out of Oakland that is.
Round-trip Oakland to Barcelona on June 18th to July 4th (have to book separately) for a total of $587. On Iberia you get one free checked bag. Next flights. Round-trip Barcelona to Rome June 19th-July 4th for $108. On Vueling it's $15 per checked bag if you pay online (maybe $30 if you have to pay both ways.)
You would have plenty of time to make your next flights when you land in Barcelona. There is no guarantee though and there's always a risk, any flights get delayed you're kind of boned.
Your total would be $695 ($710-725 if you check bags). I know it's not your exact dates, but it's the best you're going to do without a super complicated flight itinerary.
Beep boop, I'm not really a bot, yet. If you need any help finding flights, feel free to PM me.
It's a race against time to stain the entire fence before it gets too cold (or wet). I kick myself for not pressure washing this past weekend.
The flight deals I posted yesterday are still good. I can't believe the price for the flight to Prague. If you want a cheap vacation, book that flight to Prague and stay at an AirBnB.
Edit: It's my cake day. Here's me doing a flip.
fly to Bali with a friend: $2000 (2 x $1000)
rent a private villa for two weeks: $1250
eat like royalty for $20/day: $2750
total cost: $6000 for two people!
EDIT: Math
Haha thats a loaded question. I used to run www.planesurfers.com before I handed it off to my business partner. Short version, I use google flights.. a lot. Long version is a bit long for Reddit. lol.

But for the average user, google flights is good enough for finding outstanding deals. Theres a map you can use to look at a bunch of destinations over the next 6 months. Its pretty powerful. Definitely start there!

https://www.google.com/flights#flt=ATL..2020-01-15*.ATL.2020-01-22;c:USD;e:1;ls:1w;sd:0;t:e
~~$468~~ $213 ~~round trip~~ flight from Montreal to Port au Prince. They're about to get $643 A MONTH from the Quebec government, just send them home.
This is not a very typical price. Usually its going to be over $400 per person for a non-stop flight.
As for why Transatlantic flights cost more, I would imagine competition from 1 and 2 stop prices keep nonstop prices down. Less of an option when traveling over the ocean.
Back to life. Back to reality.
I resisted all forms of sweets this entire holiday. This is a first for me. I should have mentioned that in my Secret Santa profile. I ended up getting a ton of candy from Germany (among other great things). I'll probably bring them to work tomorrow.
Flights
Google Flights is a great tool.
That shows domestic weekend trips from Raleigh all over the country. You can adjust the length, month, etc.
It shows everything except Southwest.
For Southwest, use this link and select Raleigh: https://www.southwest.com/html/promotions/click-n-save-sale-160209.html?clk=HOMEHERO_CNS160209
Based on these searches, I would recommend Boston ($149 round trip) if you want an awesome city with a lot of history and don't mind the cold, or Ft Lauderdale (Southwest) and drive to Miami for $89 each way if you want warm weather and a beach.
As a frequent traveler, I gotta say, RDU is one of the nicest, easiest airports in the country. It's something a lot of people probably take for granted. Everything from parking to security to restaurants and flight schedules are top notch.

Good news, you can fly one-way to Stockholm for less than $250 :D
Edit: (1) above quote only pertinent to NYC's JFK airport ~~major port cities ftw~~ sowwie; (2) screenshot in case price goes up
I was curious to the exact figures, so I did some digging.
I'm not sure when "those days" were, but according to the wikipedia article, he gave an interview about the payphones in 1963, so that would be the latest.
According to this long distance calls in 1965 were $12 for the first 3 minutes, which inflation adjusted is $94 in 2017 dollars. Today, long distance calls are about $2/min with more remote countries being up to $4-5/min.
For comparison, they say that the first international calls 1927, from New York to London was $75, which inflation adjusted $588 in 2017 dollars. You can get a round trip ticket from NYC to London for less than that if you pick the right days... found one round-trip flight for $571
This is one of the reasons why flights to Europe have been really cheap lately. I'm constantly seeing RT fares in the $400s and $500s because the airlines can't sell the seats due to terrorism fears. If anyone has been eyeing a trip to Europe now is the best time to go. I flew RT to Berlin for $488.
Here's an example: Atlanta to Amsterdam for $456
Ran 20 miles yesterday. If I can do 7 miles in the next 2 days, I'll have 100 miles this month.
Flights
Atlanta to Tokyo, 1 stop: $501 (/u/Kevin-W found this first)
There’s cheap flights on spirit airlines. They’re like our Ryanair. Tight bag restrictions and all. They have a flight to Newark next Tuesday for $110 or to New York City next Thursday for $93. Those prices drop another $18 if you buy them from the airport counter.
Edit: you can fly tomorrow for $120 according to google: https://www.google.com/flights#flt=/m/0f2rq./m/02_286.2018-07-27;c:USD;e:1;m:c.0;sd:1;t:f;tt:o

Round trip is $384 in economy or $4,195 in biz. It's a 787 with "above average legroom" of 32" in econ. I will not be taking this flight any time soon.
Sure but this article is "pat yourself on the back you went somewhere FAR AWAY. Put it on your resume!" nonsense.
Also here is a $325 ticket from LAX to Mexico City. Really not that expensive and that is from a 5 second search.
Also lol. "No direct flights to Hawaii from Phoenix." Here's one for 2 weeks from now for less than 600 dollars. Do they think their followers are idiots? JUST BE HONEST AND SAYING ALASKA GAVE YOU MILES TO USE. > North America is huge–the U.S. alone is about the same size as Europe and some teams can't afford to take massive trips all the time. This setup cuts down costs for smaller teams.
Just further illustrate the madness, Montreal to LA (who are in the same league) is as long of a flight as Benfica to Astana. I can't help but laugh at the idea of a Trinidadian team having to travel to Vancouver (over 16 hours).
A quick Google search is the worst way to buy airline tickets. Google Flights is much more powerful and if you know how to use ITA Matrix, even better. Obviously you are shopping during peak season. Just a few weeks later you can find those prices.
https://www.google.com/flights/#search;f=ATL;t=EDI;d=2016-08-24;r=2016-08-31
Which has no basis as a reality of reasoning. You're comparing apples and oranges.
A plane ticket from Birmingham AL to Orlando FL, roundtrip, is roughly the same distance as the round-trip in the article. The ticket, per the article, cost $60. A roundtrip ticket from Birmingham to Orlando is $285.
Same distance. Same travel restrictions (neither require passport or anything, because one is in the Eurozone and the other is in the same country...), yet one is $225 dollars more.
Norwegian Airlines Flight 7016, JFK to LGW for only $199 ($450 round trip) for most of January and February. And that's on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner too (if you're a plane nerd).
In case you don't know, Google Flights is awesome!
<strong>Google Flights</strong>
Click on the map, then at the top click on PRICE and use the slider to lower it as cheap as you want to see how far your money can get you
Make sure you specify the dates too
So what do the people who fly between Orlando and Miami do when they get to their destination? Just stand around wondering why they are there?
You're either needlessly aggressive in online discussions or a just a cunt all the time.
Ryan Air flight this morning, £23 round trip ticket from Manchester to Barcelona.
Network rail info, Manchester to London, now some trains from £42
Please make the minimum amount of research before reposting shit on the Internet
For those prices just go to fucking NY and see it
Nice couple days in NYC
This.
Can you imagine how good, and inexpensive, air travel within the US would be if we let in Emirates, Etihad, BA, Lufthansa, etc. compete? And look at the current situation with transatlantic flights: WOW Air and Norwegian are absolutely killing the US carriers on price.
Hell, when I was in Europe, I flew from Amsterdam to Copenhagen on a 45-minute SAS flight, which sells for as little as $49, and they served free drinks and meals. Norwegian offers that route, sans the extras, for $35.
I would also like to point out that the US taxes the crap out of low-cost flights. Many sub-$100 Spirit flights are taxed at over 100% (i.e., the real cost is $50, but there are also $50 in taxes added). They like to point this out when you add a flight to your cart, like this Washington-Boston flight with a 158% tax rate.
If you're just going to cruise the show floor, E3 is not as magical as everyone thinks it is, and in the era of streaming video it's even less relevant to non-industry people. You'll have more fun (and probably spend less money) by going to PAX East instead and just watching the E3 press conferences on Youtube or whatever. I've been to E3 twice, just sharing my experience.
Assuming you fly in Monday (15th) and leave Friday (18th), your flight from Boston to LAX should cost a little over $500.
The hotels downtown came up as pretty much all sold out when I looked (can't wait until the last minute on these things), so you're probably gonna end up staying near the airport and figuring out how to get to and from the Convention Center each day. There's a Motel 6 on Century Blvd for about $80 a night. It's a cheap taxi/Uber from the airport terminal.
Your biggest problem, like I said, is going to be getting to and from the Convention Center. Uber/Lyft are the easiest options, and it'll cost around $20 each way. If you're feeling brave, you could also take the Metro Bus 117 to the Blue Line. It'll only cost you $7 for the day, but that goes through some areas which it would be smarter to avoid.
If you've been counting the dollar signs, flight + hotel + transportation have added up to a little over $1000, and that's not counting taxes, fees, or incidentals. On the plus side, you won't need to spend much at the actual event. Good luck, and have fun!
150+650 = $800 for NYC-SE Asia round trip...
Right now, with hardly any research or playing with departure dates, I can book NYC-BKK round trip for $730 (China Eastern is good, I've done this route with them in the past.)
Toronoto-BKK round trip is $806.
I remember when this deal came up and when the Milan deal came up. But in the end, you save money on one leg, but spend it all on the return leg... I couldn't find a flight back to make it a decent deal worth dropping things for.
Of course the important thing is that you actually got a little push to book and did it. But it doesn't really look like you saved much on this deal. Personally, I also appreciate 1 way tickets because they offer more flexibility and I don't get stressed out as my departure date approaches.
>Google Airlines?
Google Flights remains the best way to book a flight that I have ever seen.
>Googlebank?
Google Wallet lets you store money with them ^(but there is no interest and the like, so it makes no sense to use it over a Credit Union)
Both of these are involvement in those markets, even if they aren't actually competing in full scale.
It's probably being priced for use as a connecting flight to SFO, not as an origin/destination flight. The early morning seems like it's timed for connections to eastbound domestic flights. Probably easier to go to a local airport, get in the system with your bags and everything and connect than spend 90 minutes driving to SFO. For example.
I dont mean to sound insensitive, but 4 yrs without a trip home seems excessive.
Think about it - once you are a doctor, you will only have the money, without any grandparents to visit (and grown up nieces and nephews who have never ever seen you!).
So borrow some money - and go back home. It does not have to be for a month - it can be for a week. It can be for 3 days! $1000 is not a lot of money... what is the use of making $250K/yr after you graduate if .. for 8 yrs.. you are stuck in texas!
Take Xmas off (you get a week off ... ) fly to netherlands (KLM, Houston to Amsterdam is $1289) stay for a week, return on Jan 2nd or 3rd. (check this out for reservations).
Go now when they are healthy and happy. Once something happens - you only get to interact with the doctors and nurses.
And that's not even accounting for the cost of air travel in both money and time.
A flight from Glasgow to Sydney via Emirates starts off with a 7 and a half hour flight to Dubai, then a 13 hour 50 minute flight to Sydney where he'd spend 2 weeks in a hotel, and then possible take a Sydney to Detroit trip via Delta where he'd have a a nearly 13 and a half hour flight to Los Angeles, where he'd then hop on a relatively short, 4 hour and 14 minute flight to Detroit.
Ignoring the dates of the specific flights I mentioned, that is likely $1500 - $2000 for air travel to go the long way around the planet, ~40 hours on a plane not counting any layovers, plus a two week stay in an Australian Hotel that you aren't even allowed to leave. Even if he finds a cheap hotel, that's still likely another $1,000 to $1,500 he's spending on Hotels for that two weeks. That's a really inconvenient and unfun way to blow ~$3,000 that the kid probably doesn't have
>and flying a reporter to Azerbaijan ain't cheap in the first place

According to Google, out of Atlanta, on November 1st, American Airlines will fly me to Zurich for $777. I do now realize, though, that I didn't factor in travel from Zurich to Honegg. It's an hour drive - I could certainly get a round trip on some form of transport for a hundred bucks, yeah? I really have no idea how to go about finding out. I'm calling it a Benjamin.
1/18 ATL-CLT-SFO $171 cash - options all day long
1/20 DL 5824,DL 2180 SFO-SEA-LIH 7:30am - 4:48pm 26.5k skymiles per person. You book yourself, wife books herself
1/25 DL 2147, DL 2936 LIH-SEA-ATL 9:15pm - 2:12pm 29k skymiles per person.
You're 4500 skymiles short, so you'd book one with points, one with Pay With Miles and pay the $130 difference.
Alternative return option on 1/25 is take this American Flight for $207
Google flights allows shockingly vague search terms. Try searching for “United States” or “North America” as a destination for the dates you have in mind.
As you were a bit ambiguous about the airports, I chose a mix of TPA/MCO to DEN and found 308$ as the most reasonable based on cost and time if someone was able to assist.

Generally countries with less buying power, but with free association with the US (for US carriers). I recently looked at flights to Europe, and switching over to Micronesia gave like 15% off the incognito-mode-in-US prices. Just watch out for bank fees to switch currencies if you have to buy it in their currency - credit usually works fine though.
>Is there a website for doing a search for fares across countries?
Not that I know of. My method: Open incogneto window, go to https://www.google.com/flights/ , pick your airports, 'show flights', pick dates that are the numbers of days you want apart (eg. 12 day vacation), expand the dates window and click 'price graph'. Scroll through the whole year and find a date you could travel where there is a price drop for your vacation. Screenshot. Change VPN to the destination country, repeat, try being from various poor countries, etc.
http://i.imgur.com/lS0SljE.jpg - $699 instead of $1059, and this is me picking everything randomly as an example. IRL I'd study the price movements for a month, I take cheap vacations seriously.

Don't go. Or at least not with that program. I don't know where in the UK you are but a round trip flight from London to Beijing is about £400. Unless you're REALLY interested in the class you'd be taking, you could take both your girlfriend and yourself to China for less than the cost of the program. And actually have time to explore rather than being in class all day.
Link to a 3 week trip over Easter for £300.
Looking at a random weekend in september, Boston (logan) to most places on the west coast is ~ $350. While I have no idea the situation around your flight, it's hard to pay $700 without booking way too late or on super busy days.
Here's to Shanghai from late August through early December in the $470:
Play around with the dates in the calendar!
OGG is pretty cheap right now, so maybe consider using cash for this one and save your points for a nice resort

Actually there are pretty good flights to Zagreb right now for next Spring. Flights are usually $1k plus and right now there are some in the $600s.
Google Flights is good too! Check it out OP, it makes suggestions and has a built-in price tracker so you get mails when tickets go cheaper/more expensive!
I like the XY table with many dates so you can pinpoint the cheapest pair of dates and that it always shows final price
You can track flight prices with Google Flights. If you want the absolute basics for flying, look into the "newer" no-frills airlines like Allegiant or Spirit. In fact, here is a short list of "budget airlines" in the USA (and Canada and Mexico). Many, though, charge ridiculous fees for baggage, so it may behoove you not to have any baggage for the flight in question. You'll have to look into the policies of each airline.
Definitely the first one. For example Google Flights use that on their search results.
Right arrow doesn't mean "expand" but open, most often in new page or modal.
I use Google Flights for price comparisons.
Also, for whatever reason, Southwest does not publish its fares outside its website, so make sure to check their website as well.
I'd just like to point out that if you Search Google Flights for a trip from Toronto to Lugano (Where McKenzie said he was going to skate), it gives you the tip that you can save $127 by flying to Milan (27 miles away) instead.
Eek. That's a 2.5 hour drive on a good day. No Uber/Lyft driver would you drive you there, even if traffic allowed. You might get lucky if you really push hard to ask around on Craigslist, Facebook, reddit, etc. if there happens to be somebody going to the exact same place, but you'd have to offer many hundreds of dollars to get someone to drive you there who wasn't already going there.
Your cheapest option may honestly be to take public transit to a used car lot, buy a cheap car, and just sell it when you're done. 82nd avenue is full of sketchy used car shops, I'm sure one of them will be happy to sell you a crappy car for cheap.
EDIT: There are still flights from PDX to Eugene available on the 20th. Not even too expensive. You might be able to find a rental car in Eugene still, and fly there from PDX. Would be faster than hitchhiking from Portland for sure. Looks like National and Enterprise have rentals available at the Eugene airport still.
I fly into Christchurch. Average flight time for SFO - CHC is 20-40 hours.
Where I previously was flying from was Raleigh, which was 28 - 50 hours, according to Google Flights. So yeah. 27 hours with layovers seems pretty on point.
407 whatup! Fellow Orlandoan here, what I do is search using https://www.google.com/flights/ Put in the dates I want to fly and then put a price alert if you dont like the current prices.
Here is a search result of what you are looking for
Frontier is pretty much a bus in the air and doesnt get cheaper than that.
I hope this helps!
Where are you getting those flight times to France?
There's a flight from Sao Paolo to Paris that's only 11.5 hours.
> I was wondering if there will be any chance of being able to compare flights by area or region. For example, I live in NW England and I have about 3 nearby international airports and it'd be great to be able to say all airports in England or list several airports. >
Use commas. For example, in the San Francisco metro area, there's three major airports. SJC, SFO, and OAK.
To search using all three simultaneously, just put into the search bar "SJC, SFO, OAK" (the order doesn't matter).
One quick tip is to use Google Flights and then the explore option. This will let you for example search for weekend flights from PHX in the next 6 months.
https://www.google.com/flights#flt=PHX..2019-07-25*.PHX.2019-07-29;c:USD;e:1;ls:we;sd:0;t:e

Given the temperatures in PHX how about an escape to either someplace cooler or the beach. $129 to the San Francisco area, $157 to the quirky city of Portland, or $127 to Chicago.
That's such a short distance - just go with the cheapest fare.
I prefer to use Google Flights
> ouais contre 45 min en avion
Non, c'est 1h20.
Et comme le dit /u/Atles92 quand on parle d'avion il faut rajouter à minima une petite heure avant pour aller à l'aéroport, et une petite heure après pour retourner en ville.
Et de toute façon c'est un faux procès car Paris-Toulouse n'est pas concerné par cette proposition, justement car l'offre ferroviaire actuelle n'est pas jugée suffisamment compétitive.
Flight sale to Australia is still around!
Atlanta to Sydney: $664
Valid dates are Feburary-June. Remember, you can cancel without any penalty up to 24 hours after booking a flight.
Here is a flight for $300 flat in January:
That's cheaper than going to a specialist even with most insurance companies in the US
> Levi's is in a much more central location to the teams in the conference than any of those other places
Excuse my language but so fucking what? A nonstop flight from Seattle to San Francisco takes about 2 hours and 10 minutes
A flight from Seattle to Vegas is about 2 hours and 20 minutes A whopping 10 minutes longer.
If you made it as far as possible, a nonstop flight from Seattle to Los Angeles takes about 2 hours and 40 minutes
That extra half hour is really that big a deal?
They aren't going by bus. Nobody is suggesting that we play the game in Jerry's World. Modern travel makes the distance difference trivial.
What does "Being Central" even mean anymore? What value does it actually have?
I give full-sized candy bars as a bribe to not egg my house.
Flights
why do you need so much for a flight for one person, i can get a civilian flight from NRT to LAX (round trip) for like... 600 dollars on any fucking travel site right now.
Could be gotten for much lower had you planned this out months in advance. And sharing hotel rooms shouldn't be much more to the cost.
idk dude this all sounds fuckin dumb as SHIT
If you don't mind the stops, you can visit Germany for end of Munich Oktoberfest (or beginning of Stuttgart's Oktoberfest)
Sept. 27-Oct. 4 (Wed. to Wed.) for about $650.
https://www.stuttgart-tourist.de/en/e-stuttgart-beer-festival-2017
You could try looking on Google flights! You can put in the dates and your home airport and then set a price, and it'll show you everywhere you can fly for under that price.
Add Atlanta to Auckland, New Zealand for $1,016 to the list. I know it's not under $1,000, but consider it's normally a fare close to $2,000, that's a pretty good deal.
I just checked.. it's a 2 hour flight with allegiant.
A 2 hour flight isn't enough time to really experience an airline's shittiness. A 5-12 hour flight would be hell though.
I've never flown with allegiant. All I can tell you is that for a short flight, quality isn't nearly as important as for a long one.
Delta isn't a lot more expensive and I vouch for Delta being solid.
