DiskDigger has been very reliable in my experience. Try to recover as soon as possible tho or the new stuff that fills up your storage might overwrite the file.
Yes you can restore them. Search for DiskDigger on play store. I used to retrieve my deleted photos with it. I suggest that you use some kind of cloud backup from now on, so you don't get in this situation again.
Edit: link
try what /u/Matech said and use root+DiskDigger, I just tried it and I’ve found pictures I deleted ages ago.
Where'd you get that idea that rooting will help you recover lost data? Pretty sure this doesn't work like that. I searched on google, and all I've managed to find was horsecrap. You could try this as a last resort. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
But to answer you question, if the bootloader is not already unlocked, you phone will probably be wiped.
You can try this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger. But images will be in lower quality if your device is not rooted.. I don't really recommend rooting.
Is it an Android device? If it is there are apps that can recover deleted photos... One example is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
I've used it myself and I was able to recover deleted photos. The only main issue is that the chance of recovery diminish over time... That's because the phone will eventually use the space where the photo was stored to save new data. So the best chance would be you running it right after the photo was deleted... If you kept using your phone for a long time after the photo was deleted there is a big chance that the smartphone system already put something where the photo was.. And at this case the recovery is impossible...
Anyway, you should try the app to see if you are lucky ;-)
This ^ is step 1.
Step 2: Android undelete programs: DiskDigger photo recovery, EaseUS Recovery (free to try)
Unfortunately, Android uses forced encryption these days, making recovery almost impossible. There are data recovery software that can find cached images not available to the user, but if you're looking for anything else, it's probably not recoverable.
The catch 22 here is that there are some programs that MIGHT be able to help (and that's a long shot), but they all require root. Which you would have to have rooted before the data was put on the phone or lost. And rooting wipes the phone, which destroys the encryption keys, which makes 100% of the data unrecoverable. Sorry I don't have better news for you. If you're looking for just images, you can check the cached images with this program:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
To answer your question about copying the internal storage to run a recovery program on it, what you're referring to is called "imaging". And it is possible on Android. But only if you're already rooted. And even then, with forced encryption, it isn't always a gurantee of a successful recovery, like it used to be in the past.
Hi there, perhaps a silly question but do you have any automatic cloud back up apps running, maybe even unknowingly just doing their thing in the background? E.g. Google Photos. Also are you using an iPhone or an Android? If Android I have heard success stories about DiskDigger.
I've used successfully the Diskdigger app to recover photos and videos but that was almost immediately after deleting them, you'll have a harder time recovering if too much time has passed. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
Try DiskDigger. It's the best I know for this on Android.
Otherwise, you can try to plug in your device via USB on the computer and run a recovery software. There is plenty of them.
I've deleted pictures like you as well. There's free apps in the play store like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger . They look old and undeveloped but trust me they get the job done. I've been able to recover picture from months back because I never clear my cache.
iPhone?
Try going into iCloud to see if your photos are there. Apple defaults to saving your images online.
Android?
Download DiskDigger and run it
>find system version
go to settings and at about the bottom, there should be smt like "about" or "about device"
>used it quite a bit after
you could try some apps like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger&hl=en, but i wouldn't except much, if its rooted, some computer apps for recovery can try to mount the device memory as a drive and have a bit more success, but neither will provide 100% results, especially if the device was used after
Data recovery apps are available in Play Store. Personally, I have used DiskDigger (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger) and it was quite successful (as much as it can be anyway, considering my phone literally formatted the entire SD card).
Some googling suggested installing "dr fone" on a pc which supposedly can recover deleted files. Never used it myself but it's worth a shot
Edit: looks like you need root however, as well as for similar apps in the play store such as https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
Glad to know. This has helped me as well. If the remaining aren't showing up in iShredder, give this a try. Heard it's good. It has an option to wipe free space.
If the files still remain, it's probably because they are located in a partition not accessible to the apps. Then either root (if the app supports it) or "Encrypt + Factory Reset + Overwrite"
I don't know the difference either but I use DiskDigger to wipe the storage. I used it with root but it should work with non-root devices too.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
It worked for me every time. Just don't download or put new things on your phone until you get those pics back using this app.
Downloading new files will override old file locations.
I think dumpster only works if it's installed before you lose any photos, like Windows recycle bin(if it's the one I'm thinking of).
He could try an app called Diskdigger, there is a free trial and paid version.
He could also connect his phone via USB to a computer and use a file recovery program that way
Is this what you're talking about? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger&hl=en_US&gl=US
Try Diskdigger.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
If your phone is rooted it will work better though it also works without root.
(I used it before and it seemed like it was working)
I once accidentally deleted a folder of photos, and got them all back with Disk Digger. That was years ago now, though, and I cannot say if anything has changed since then.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
if it's not in some sort of recicle bin you can use diskdigger (works better with root) or connect it to a pc and use any file recover program
The same thing happens with Google Photos. I went going through all my pics on there like a month ago and everything was very cluttered and unorganized. I decided to delete them all and resync from my phone, but my pictures were deleted off the phone too. I have no idea why Google programmed the app this way. I'm still pissed about it.
I was able to recover most of them using this app.
Well I would suggest trying this app to recover them. If that doesn't work I can't be of any further help. I have personally used this app to get back images I deleted. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
Download DiskDigger, same thing happened to me a couple months ago and that app will find any lost lost photo/video Hope this helps!
I'm not completely sure but there are couple of options:
You could try this app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger)
Or you could try plugging your phone on the PC and use this method: (https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-recover-deleted-files-2622870)
If it didnt work, you could search for different programs.
Not perfect, but it works pretty well. Be careful that it picks up pretty much everything, including degraded thumbnail versions of the pictures you want.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
When you formatted it, did it ask whether you wanted it to be seen as internal or removable?
I have a feeling it's encrypted to your phone.
If so, install something like DiskDigger, then try putting your card back in your phone and scanning it
You could try an app called diskdigger photo recovery. Did you have any photos backed up to your Google Photos app?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger link to diskdigger app
yeah, there are plenty of desktop apps you can connect your phone to using an USB cable., even Linux has plenty of options. There are free apps in Google Play, some cost money, some are free with ads. It's going to be a hit and miss. This one seems ok? Try it?
I'll give this one a try. Thank you so much!
On Android usually when a file is deleted, that's it.
You might wanna try this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
But the thing is, by writing more stuff on your phone, it may have overridden any remaining data of this video.
Godspeed
I've used this app from the play store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
I think I was rooted but I'm not sure, anyway it worked for me but I didn't factory reset, I just deleted a pic by accident and needed it back, worth a try anyway
I would take the SD card out. Maybe the storage is trying to read from that and thus showing everything as empty?
It may be worth checking if your wireless carrier has some kind of cloud backup installed.
Additionally, she can try the DiskDigger app and see if she can restore some of the lost photos.
Now would be a good time to get set up with cloud storage.
I have used an app in the past called diskdigger for recovering images and I believe it can be used for any specific type of file. Lemme find a link. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger I hope this is helpful.
there are some apps that can recover accidentally-delete like this : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
but seems for video you need to root your device
cmiiw but afaik when we instruct delete, the system storage not really wiping the data.... the data should stay in the storage, but it flagged safe-for-write and not visible on file-list. This also give benefit to reduce writes on the storage-chips (which have limited writes number), which eventually reduce wearing overtime
so as long you not overwrite that block/cluster, actually u can still recover the data, only when u write on the block/cluster, the file is wipped, because the block bits replaced with the newly written one
yes, but its much harder to get and often the old files are rather quickly rewritten by new files (like photos, etc) cos of small overall phones capacity, you could try something like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger&hl=en but it is a 50/50 chance, maybe you gonna get some of your files back or maybe just some random temporary/cache files
Trying to root is the last thing you want to do. You want to use the device as minimally as possible to avoid overwriting the files. Try using DiskDigger. I've heard people had success with that.
Hi there, idk if you fixed it yet but try this app out. I used it when i had an s4 and it recovered my pictures and even some i havent seen in a while.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
EDIT: reviews indicate this may not work well for videos -- i only have experience using it for photos
You should be able to find something that works here though: https://play.google.com/store/search?q=video%20recovery&c=apps
I would suggest downloading and trying to use this application from the Google Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger&hl=en
Hopefully this works for you!
i did a search for the word "recover" and found this thread:https://www.reddit.com/r/galaxynote5/comments/3ok5ij/recover_deleted_images/?ref=search_posts i used the diskdigger app suggested in the post.. i was able to recover all of my photos.. but not my videos. if your phone is rooted you can get videos too. i was desperate to get the last photos of my 20 year old cat that passed away this past weekend. i was devestated i deleted my dcim folder when trying to back up my phone... good luck! edit: here is the direct link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger&hl=en
It would appear that the photos are corrupted somehow, which actually is a common issue with SD Cards, as they're quite unreliable. This is why Google is encouraging OEMs to move away from SD Cards (and there are patent issues).
To recover your photos, I'd recommend you to try DiskDigger to see if you can recover your photos.
If you end up wiping/rooting, back up anything you don't want to lose first. The act of unlocking shouldn't do anything directly to further purge already-deleted files afaik, but every little thing the phone writes to storage(apps will be caching data in the background all the time, in addition to anything you're doing manually) is being written over space that potentially holds the deleted photos.
DiskDigger seems like something to potentially try if you root.
Then the only other alternative is to use the disk digger app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
Though if you don't have root you really are out of options then.
Install this app: disk digger
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
I had some success with DiskDigger in the past.
Its not cool I want to delete those pictures permanently! And here is app that i using: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
I like DiskDigger
Yo check this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
DiskDigger you can try this in favor of Dumpster.
Android: DiskDigger photo recovery, EaseUS Recovery (free to try).
Also:PhotoRec (instructions; Win, Mac, Linux) and Recuva (instructions; Win).
Eventually every microSD card fails, always sooner than you'd prefer. Rumor has it backups help data last longer, but few believe it.
Try this or you can try using wondershare recover it
You should try something like this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
Avoid writing/restoring to the internal memory if possible.
First of, is your phone rooted?
I got good results with diskdigger
Does Safestrap simply not show up? If it isn't, then I'm sorry but it seems like they're unrecoverable. The phone is preventing you from accessing your internal storage as a security measure, so it will only let you wipe it. I would suggest following the "How to fix your unusable Fire Phone" guide on the front page to get your phone working then root and try using a photo recovery tool like DiskDigger, Dr. Done, Hexamob Recovery, and DeepDig. Run these tools immediately and download them one at a time. Also, download as little things as possible as that will give you the best chance for recovery.
I'm really sorry again! The only other thing I can suggest is going to http://photos.google.com and check if they were backed up.
Edit: when you root, you don't even have to install CyanogenMod or anything else yet. Just install the Google Play Store to FireOS using our guide here and run the recovery tools within FireOS.
Sorry to hear. There are many potential solutions for 'Android file recovery' if you try Googling for those terms. Some of the most thorough methods may require root, but I'm sure there are some that don't. I've seen the application Recuva mentioned a few times as a computer application that may be able to help, although I've never used it personally. I've also heard of the app DiskDigger being able to dig up the photos and videos that were deleted.
Side note: once you do get back up and running, turning on photo sync in Google Photos may be something you want to look into.
Are you rooted? If so https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger&hl=en will get back things you never even knew you had lol. Good luck!
Was the phone already rooted? Try this app, it saved my butt a couple of times before.
Recovery apps like DiskDigger may be able to recover some of it.
Prova ad usare questo https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
For working phones with broken screen you can install adb and scrcpy. These tools allows you to control smartphone. Must ensure that adb debugging is turned on in developer options. https://github.com/Genymobile/scrcpy
For restoring deleted files you can try Disk Digger (non-root for basic scan and root for deep scan) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger&hl=en Or https://drfone.wondershare.com/android-data-recovery.html
Try this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
Unfortunately installing software updates has decreased your chances. But it's worth a shot.
Try this app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger&hl=en_IN&gl=US). I've used it twice and it helped me to recover many photos.
I've used DiskDigger for photos, it will probably work for videos as well.
This has helped me many a time as a man of culture
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
I tried this and it did the trick for me: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
You could try this bud , good luck
You could use this. I used to use this one.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
I once had the same problem and used an app from the google playstore it's called diskdigger here is the link for it. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
This app has worked for me.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger might work. Don't know why they would just disappear though.
Try something like this, but there are alternatives: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
This app might help you : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
There are pictures recovery app on Google store, such as this
Aww man, I was scrolling my frontpage and stopped, because I genuinely felt terrible for you...
The good news is that know a lot about Android, so I can try to help! I haven't had a lot of experience with data recovery, specifically, but I can at least make some suggestions / try a few things:
[TIP] In these types of situations, try not to use your phone that much. Any time you take a picture, download an app, save music/videos for offline viewing, your phone might overwrite your precious, old files that you're trying to recover. Think of it like this: because your phone was wiped, your phone now sees your storage as a "blank slate", where it can write new data anywhere. Unfortunately, that means it can write over old files. So basically, following this tip will minimize the risk of permanently losing your old data.
As a follow-up to #1, I can try to suggest a few data recovery apps. (NOTE: I have not used any of these apps, but other Redditors have mentioned it personally helped them)
You can see who logged into the Google Account, check out this help article from Google
Next time you want to share a game with friends, try setting up a family account. All purchases are shared across all the Google accounts listed under that same "family". For instance, if you and 3 friends wanted to share a game, you can start a family group. You'd sign up using your main Google account. Then, you would invite all 3 other people to the family group. Then once you buy the game, everyone can see it under the Google Play Store for free, because it was purchased for the "family". The benefit is that you can keep your accounts separate, which eliminates the risk of someone messing with you.
Please consider using an automatic backup tool like Google Photos. It takes literally 1 minute to set up and then you never have to work about losing your photos/videos ever again. Best of all, it's free!
Lastly, switching to non-technical point, I hope you can speak with your friends about how their actions made you feel. I get it: it's fun to mess around with your friends, but there must be a limit: if their actions are causing you to actually feel negatively, then everyone must take it seriously and stop.
Anyway, not to get too preachy... hope this all works out for you, and let me know if I can help any further. Good luck! 😊
You could something like this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger or check if you backed up your photos to a cloud service.
I've used this app before...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
Edit:
PS it's works better if you have root
Try DiskDigger. If not even that finds your pictures, it's possible that your phone has a bad NAND flash.
do not add or install anything on the phone
look in thumbnails folder & use https://download.cnet.com/FonePaw-Android-Data-Recovery/3000-2094_4-76386332.html
try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger or similar, with the risk of overwriting them
This one seems good (haven't tried it though).
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
Try this app. It might work. Good luck
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
I've used this app, It works for me.
Yes there is, you can find some apps for this on play store, I used DiskDigger for example(https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger)
You could try something like this.
Try this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
There may be a limit on the number of restored photos, but the pro version is only 3,5€, and it works without root.
If this happened on an sd card, you maybe can try to recover it from a pc using diskdigger.
Check Google Photos or Huawei Cloud, maybe it automatically saved some picture.
I've used this multiple times https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
Give this one a shot: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger No need to thank me.
I used Disk Digger. Was able to recover the photos I'd lost using it. Very handy app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
This app works a dream.
You're looking for DiskDigger :)
Try diskdigger on the play store ASAP
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
Try: DiskDigger
I've had success with this app in the past for recovering deleted photos. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
Undelete programs (best run from a hard drive or USB stick other than disk containing deleted files):

If you're rooted, you can use this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger&hl=en I've had success with it despite the 3.5 star rating.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger
This is the one I used.
Have u tried this one https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.defianttech.diskdigger .
