I submitted all of them, it's amazing how many there are. The developer name for this idiot really cracked me up, "Weather Radar".

A million+ people downloaded a photo app from a developer calling themself "Weather Radar".
Amazing.
Simple Gallery: A free-rotate feature that wouldn't crop but instead fill the background with a solid color or transparency. Like Image Rotator.
Hmm, but what about Moon+ Reader and Librera as books leader. Arent they good enough?
Try installing a different SMS app (i.e., Google Messages) and see if your old messages appear there. If they do, make a backup before doing anything else. IIRC SMS messages are stored at an OS level - not app - by Android, wouldn't hurt to save anything important though.

For a mail app, I would suggest FairEmail – a FOSS and privacy focused mail application with many great fearures. I use it everyday and must say that I’ve never used a better Android mail client than this one. The app is available on F-Droid, PlayStore (which obviously isn’t an option for a FOSS phone) & GitHub, for more info see https://email.faircode.eu
Had similar issues with the app not detecting my USB OTG and transferring files to it. So instead I use this File Manager and it has no issues with moving/copying to the USB. Give it a go and see if it fixes your issues.
F-stop hasnt been updated since August 2021, so they avoid the latest rules. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fstop.photo
Since windows 10 or 11, android has started denying users access to the android/data directory. Many file explorer apps are read only, meaning you can only see and MAYBE copy files from there. Still, many apps just show the directory as blank, including Google's very own file explorer app. Simple File Manager is one of those that is read only. It lacks the framework to actually make the changes needed when installing some apps, such as Newpipe.
That being said, theres still hope. There are a few apps out there that are capable of read and write. I personally have https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.solidexplorer2 installed. Id say give that a try.
That's a shame but totally understandable.
For anyone who wants alternative recommendations, I've used Open Camera for a while and it's been good enough.
Anyone know of a good open source and simple clock app alternative?
does imagepipe count? it might be a bit overfeatured!
https://codeberg.org/Starfish/Imagepipe
i would also appreciate having this built in to gallery, but once you consider everything that is useful for image shares (exif, file path and name, dowscaling, compression, censoring, annotation and highlighting, probably others) another app becomes an obvious choice. also picking a camera app that doesn't add the metadata to start with, if possible.
Sure, the apps are available on F-droid too, for example the gallery is at https://f-droid.org/packages/com.simplemobiletools.gallery.pro . Just change the URL to get to other apps. All apps are the same as on F-droid, just Simple Gallery Pro has a more advanced photo/video editor on Google Play. Then you can optionally send some donation at https://www.simplemobiletools.com/donate
no need to use Google Play, just donate at https://www.simplemobiletools.com/donate/ . F-droid versions are the same as the Google Play Pro versions, no need to unlock anything. The only difference is the galleries photo editor, which is better in the Google Play version. It isnt open source though so it cannot be added on f-droid.
from https://www.simplemobiletools.com/ , github or from the apps long descriptions. I plan remaking the main website too, the web buttons are too hard to see indeed. The webs have just been created, I will think of the rest later :)
Sure, these .apk files are the same ones you can purchase on Google Play. There is nothing left out whatsoever. You can then send some donation at https://www.simplemobiletools.com/donate/ for the apps, if you think so.
Its the same after restart.
I tried another gallery app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=gallery.photomanager.picturegalleryapp.imagegallery) in that app the pictures work without any problem. I chance nothing, just install the other app, open it and all pics are showing.
So it's a issue with your app? Any ideas? 🤔
Sounds like bad luck for sure. Anyway, you should get the Pro version from https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.simplemobiletools.notes.pro , it has many improvements in that regard and is still being developed. Thanks
well okay, you should upgrade to the Pro version at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.simplemobiletools.calendar.pro . Your one wont be receiving fixes anymore. Thanks
Yeah, that is one of the drawbacks of storing contacts that privately. But if you use our Simple Dialer from https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.simplemobiletools.dialer it will show the callers name. You can enable sharing those private contacts with Simple Dialer and Simple SMS Messenger in Simple Contacts Pros app settings. It is enabled by default.
A very happy birthday! I didn't know the reason, but I saw all the pro apps are available for free. So I thought it's a good day to get the "thank you" app, and thus went ahead and purchased it. :)
Oh sorry for not being clear enough It's for the Clock app You can refer to Blip Blip https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=it.nadolski.blipblip or Hourly Reminder https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.github.axet.hourlyreminder
no, it wouldnt. Anyway a new app Simple Dialer has already been published at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.simplemobiletools.dialer , you can try it out. It will have some benefits that they are split, some drawbacks too. Not much more I can do about it.
I don't mean to be rude, but i personally see no value in adding closed-source code like this (photo editor) to libre or open-source software no matter how good it looks. Like, if we want, we can download many editors from google play already, like Google's Snapseed for example, which i'm using. I believe this move could have been done because the Google play version of the app is paid, so now it will have extra value over the (now) less-featured free F-Droid pro version. I hope this doesn't go to the closed source path over the time. Cheers and still thanks for developing OSS!
i pasted my comment here from another post.

okay, was it working in some previous versions? Check if it work well in this app please https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.photoeditorsdk.android.app
I already wrote where. Here, again:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.simplemobiletools.clock
There is no link here to the Github repository of the app.
As I wrote there, this is incorrect.
Users do it all the time, even if the app doesn't freeze.
Also, removing an app from the recent tasks doesn't help in case the app freezes (you need force-stop), and it doesn't supposed to ruin scheduled alarms. Try the Clock app or this app, for example.
Or remove recent tasks of Gmail, or of WhatsApp, or of Calendar... All of these will continue to work as usual.
for roman number conversion, there is already an app for that. My question is can you implement that webp type of animations is shown in gallery? Its just an image now :/
What app version do you have at all? Try updating to the Pro one at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.simplemobiletools.gallery.pro , some bin related glitches have been fixed. The old version can have some files in the recycle bin, while they arent shown in the app, so you cannot really delete them directly.
