Here’s literally 18 pairs of socks for $21! That would give all her kids + her and her husband at least one pair of socks of their own with some extra pairs as well.
She’s definitely spending more on those ~ essential oils~.
And I like how she said she didn’t want to wash all those socks, but now is washing... shoes?? Like that’s easier?
And as an added bonus , her kids are going to be known as the bunch of smelly weird kids who don’t wear socks.
Doesn't look like a sex toy to me, looks like one of these. They were pretty popular when I was a kid. They do look weird, but I think that if you tried to use this thing for ~off-label purposes~ it would probably explode gel all over.
We got flippers like these for all exterior doors after Kiddo (then just turned two) opened the front door and let the dog out. I 100% recommend them - they’re dead simple for adults to work, but he can’t reach them and they’re just tricky enough that he can’t pop them open with a broom handle (he’s tried).
Years ago I went through a slutty phase and I bought a salt lamp that had these decorative salt balls on top of the light. I always asked people I brought home if they wanted to lick my warm, salty balls. Nobody ever took me up on that offer.
There's a gay penguin couple with an adopted baby at the Central Park Zoo as well! My 1 year old loves the picture book about them.
It's called "And Tango Makes Three."
I sell buttons at cons and a few of them have swearing, ranging from mild to the "fuck," with the strongest being, "I'm a shark, suck my dick." I'll take out some of the f-words if there's a lot of kids at the show, maybe the ones with "shit," but sometimes forget, and I leave anything with damn and hell. My reasoning is if a kid is old enough to read the word and doesn't know what the word is, then one of these three is true:
So when I see a parent being upset over a kid hearing something like, "Oh, hell!" or "I'll be damned," I hope they're not #3.
True story: when I worked in retail, I had a kid come in and happily buy a cassette (I'm dating myself), and within the hour his mother came in, dragging her extremely humiliated looking son behind her, and slammed the open cassette on the counter and demanded his money back. She was furious at us for selling him something so "obscene" with "foul language."
The kid was in his mid-teens and it was The Eagles' Greatest Hits.
Its kid one and it's tiny. It's alot like those folding lawn chairs I see at sporting events. If your concerned I cant give you a Amazon link.

The silicone ones come in sets, so if your kiddo drops one, you’d have spare ones. You could also thread them on yarn and tie to the stroller, etc. so they can’t fall on the ground. I have been meaning to buy some silicone ones and just put these in my Amazon cart. Softy Straws There’s a little tool included to clean them. I like the brushes that look like pipe cleaner bristles better. I looked for an example to link and found this Munchkin bottle and cup cleaning set. It’s for cleaning kiddy bottles and cups, but the same small crevices are found in tumblers and travel mugs for adults. It even includes a little tool to pop the waterproof gaskets off the lids. No more ruining my nails trying to pop the gasket off my Beast tumbler lids.
I have a ton of the metal and plastic straws that go with the lidded tumblers, and I really love them. (Starbucks tumblers last forever and don’t lose their lids if they fall. I also have Beast tumblers, but the lids can pop off.) I don’t get anything out of linking stuff other than trying to do something nice.
the other commenter is correct. I did not start using real drugs until way later. I was already being punished for it, so why wouldn't I?
And the sleeping pills were very clearly not drugs. It was a labelled mix of herbs in gelcaps. Like this: https://www.amazon.com/Natural-Sleeping-Stress-Insomnia-Anxiety/dp/B07QXGJ8W3 (probably not that exact item, but similar enough)

Oh, they weren’t really heels - hence the quotation marks. This is what I’m talking about, not some Toddlers & Tiaras getup. Most parents didn’t care because it’s just a pair of shoes. But I watched too many dads forbid their 16/17/18 year old daughters from wearing any heels at prom, dress must go past the knee, etc. It was obvious they never prepared themselves for their little girl to grow up. The above pair of shoes became a sort of litmus test. If dad couldn’t handle that it wasn’t going to get better.
Yup. Amazon's top choice to decapitate toddlers
I honestly didnt know it even exists until one mom (expert in car seats safty) warned everyone not to buy that bs and even emailed shops in our country who were selling it. Shops apologized, said they werent aware how damgerous it is, said they will return money to everyone and removed the product.
I'm reading a really interesting book about motivation right now. It's about motivation and work but would work with kids too. I haven't finished it but what I'm seeing is that extrinsic motivation is good for things that are boring and rote, but bad if the work take creativity or thinking.
Just in case I had been too vague: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tommee-Tippee-Perfect-Machine-White/dp/B00BG6304A - I don’t actually know if you have the brand if you’re in the US I’d assumed you did but then it doesn’t appear to be readily available on Amazon US? So I hope you can find one or something similar if you do decide you want one! I don’t see why you couldn’t order from the EU/UK Amazon and just use an adaptor if it came to it - not sure if it would have a transformer in it though in terms of voltage although I think parts of the EU use 120…..maybe (but if they do I would think it more likely it had a voltage range anyway).
Most of the people who I know who own one say it is an absolute game changer for exactly the reason you described, or not having to measure out etc but I do have one set of friends who were kind of annoyed it didn’t dose the formula and you have to do that bit manually because they said if you’re using a machine that does this for you it should do ALL of it for you.
I can only speak for myself, and not the group.
I'm a historian. I've spent years upon years reading historical records of medical jurisprudence concerning everything from murder to poison to stabbings and beyond. The most heart breaking records are always about births gone wrong. In 1905, 1 in 5 children died before their fifth birthday due to infection in the age before vaccines or antibiotics (Dorling, 2008)). But 20% of women died in childbirth. The average marriage only lasted 12 years because at some point either the woman would die in childbirth or the man would die in an industrial accident or of an infection (Cootnz, 2006).
We are so ignorant of the fact that we are living in a golden age for all of humanity. Never before have humans had such expectations to live as long as we do.
The problem with home births is that it doesn't account for the 20%. Maybe you have antibiotics on hand. Maybe you know when you're in trouble. But why put yourself in that position when you can go to a birthing center, surrounded by doulas and within reach of a doctor if you need help??
I am angry at mothers who put themselves and their babies at risk when we are living in the golden age of medicine. Yes, there are doctors and policies that can ignore a mother's voice, and yes you should make a birth plan that works for you, but don't just ignore that medical science has improved the survival rate of childbirth.
There is a fitted sheet made out of that material that's marketed as a fitted sheet for mini cribs. Someone else linked to it here in the comments below. Not sure if the one in the picture is actually the same sheet or something else though.
They really are marketed as pack&play sheets.
They're also mainly intended for the add-on pack&play mattresses, so are deeper than they need to be and don't fit right (or at least most of the regular cotton ones I've attempted to purchase in the past dont)
I ordered it on Amazon. I’m in United States though.

I think you can also order from their website? Oh, actually when you hit “buy now” on their website, it redirects to amazon.
Hey, the grippys are amazing, we used these but there are lots of different styles that work well.
This is a gentle suggestion, but have you considered an occupational therapy evaluation? My oldest hated coloring until he started working with an OT at 4 years old for other things and it meant getting better hand/grip strength and seriously improved fine dexterity. He's 7 now and thriving, just needed some help.
That's why you get these things: https://www.amazon.com/Slicer-Slicers-Vegetable-Cutting-Kitchen/dp/B08D9G943S/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=grape+slicer&qid=1666116028&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI0LjM2IiwicXNhIjoiMy40MiIsInFzcCI6IjIuODQifQ%3D%3D&sr=8-4
Takes two seconds. No excuses. =p
Or, feed them a different snack. =p
btw, I prefer this brand for swim leggings. They hold up well to being both in and out of the water, they wash well, and they're comfortable

Lol that’s what I thought too! Funny thing is, if you look at what the blankets are actually made of, it’s the same thing as like a nice soft t-shirt (Exterior: 97% Bamboo Rayon, 3% Spandex Interior: 100% Polyester)
A quick search shows that fabric like this is $10-$15 A YARD, and polyester batting is also ridiculously cheap. You can make one of these in an afternoon for $30 out the door, with a shitty borrowed sewing machine.
Well first of all, not a massage gun, it’s this: Adjusting Tool
Secondly, don’t rely on Wikipedia as a valid research tool. Librarian here, always try to use first resources. Wikipedia is great to START researching, by using the footnotes to get medical data and see where people who have edited have gotten their info.
Third, I appreciate the concern but I’ve been going to my chiropractor for three years. He has multiple legitimate degrees and certificates and is a leading person in his particular field of chiropractory. I checked him all the way out, I promise!
Fourthly, I’m sorry you’ve had bad experiences but it doesn’t mean they’re all bad. Sure there are a LOT of bad ones. I’ve been to a few and ran so fucking fast away from them. Like with anything, the more research you do into a person, the better! I just wanted to provide at least one anecdote that I’ve had a positive experience with mine. I’ve referred many people to him and they’ve had great experiences. I think, like with cops, there are just too many fucking bad ones out there.
Oh this reminds me of the time my mom thought my (similar to link) pepper grinder was a vape pen. It was not that exact model as I'm pretty sure my husband brought it home from a grocery store. Ours is approximately the size of a large vape pen, I guess. I'm an adult, I'm married, I have kids. Even when I lived at home my mom never gave me shit for drugs. She never wanted us using tobacco, but even when I did she didn't flip her lid. But on that day, my mom came to our home, immediately beelined to the table and picked it up, shouting, "WHOSE VAPE PEN IS THIS?!" She was so upset. I couldn't stop laughing, which apparently made her more upset because she couldn't understand why. It took me so long to calm my laughter enough to explain and finally I had to just show her it was a pepper grinder.
Here it is at Walgreens for cheap. It is a little comb, brush, and sponge to use while shampooing. This was the part that really worked. It took a few washings, but one day the flakes were just gone when I went to do the treatment.
They have some scalp products too called "Oh Crap Cradle Cap." I used them also.

Yep. What they call "self soothing" is really "internalizing that your needs do not matter and those closest to you will consider your emotions a stupid and pointless burden."
IMO this falls under a somewhat new concept known as "Childhood emotional neglect". I'd highly recommend people look this up. The more I read about it, the more widespread of an issue I think it is in our society.
If anybody looks this up and wants further reading, I highly recommend "Running on Empty"

No, it's urine therapy insider lingo that as far as I can tell just adds an "exotic" flavor (no pun intended) to the word. They also call it Shivambu or The Golden Sacrament; see urine enthusiast Brother Sage's Kindle-only classic Healing Water from Within: How the ancient 5,000 year old yogic practice, Shivambu or Urine (Orin) Therapy is bringing miracles to a modern world, also: https://www.westword.com/news/urine-therapy-explained-by-boulders-brother-sage-10983164
It’s a great read but it’s pricey, so I recommend buying it used.
I use a Diva cup, and I’m into organic gardening, but I don’t see those two aspects of my life converging. That being said, you could dilute the blood with a hose end sprayer, like you do with miracle grow. I use one to dilute and spray molasses on my garden and lawn. (It’s good for the soil microbiology, and diluting it keeps the ants from having a feeding frenzy.)
What I wonder about, though, is the mucus. Period blood contains a lot more than just blood, and I wonder what kind of effect that would have on the soil. I’m not willing to google that, though.

I've used this bad boy for over a year and sanitize my cup once a day (usually when showering). It's easy to travel with, too.
I think it’s because American midwives have usurped the title to make themselves sound legitimate. This blog post by a Harvard educated OB explains the difference.
Search for the obstetrician as early as you can. I collected articles about obstetricians who allow elective c-sections for decades before I got pregnant. Best to start off with the right doctor, rather than wasting your time and energy on someone who has different goals. Here's a book that I found helpful. Best of luck, I hope your births are as peaceful and safe as mine was!
80,000 people died in the US from the flu and complications arising from it last year.
It typically kills 12,000 to 56,000 every year in the US (last year was the highest it's been in a decade)
I'm just gonna let that sink in while we all ponder whether this whole "flu" thing is overblown and isn't life threatening like this supposed doctor allegedly claims.
We got something like this, the handle is in 3 parts and you can leave the middle section out to make it kid sized. When ever my wife is vacuuming my son runs off to grab it and join in.
Did this man just low-key admit that he thinks women are cows? Also, someone should get this kid this book for his birthday - picked it up on Boxing Day sales for $3.99
Ah! Don’t waste boxes! Just buy this. - available on Amazon, at Costco, and in the sauce aisle at your local grocery store ;)
Correction, you've never gotten BAD infections. Everyone gets infections from scraps and cuts. There's STUFF on your hands, in the air, on your clothes, on the thing that scrapped you. Bacteria, fungus, viruses get through the skin barrier and start consuming resources and multiplying... But then they're usually killed off. Because you have an immune system. If you've ever had a ouchie that's turned red at the edges or swelled a bit, you've likely had an infection. It's normal.
Same thing with food poisoning. A bad case will make you feel like death. But it's a smooth gradient of lesser cases all the way down to "typical taco night". You throw in potentially life-threatening bacteria into a vat of acid and it all dies. That's one reason why we have stomachs.
If you get a paticularly large dose of bad stuff (or a small dose of really bad stuff) in a cut or in your stomach, it can overwhelm the first line of defense of your immune system and it calls in heavier guns. This is what the lady is looking at. That the ankle-wide swelling and temperature increase are the immune system kicking it into high gear.
Immune systems are CRAZY complicated and really fascinating. Youtube clips and cartoon shows are a good way to learn.
As someone who was once a 12 year old in America, this isn’t weird at all.
It’s basically a toy. You can pick a cheap one up at the store for like $8. If you’ve never played with one, it’s actually pretty fun. It shakes and lights up and makes a cool clicking sound.
It’s like letting a kid have a pocket knife. Yeah, it could technically be dangerous to themselves or others if used wrong, but so could a lot of things.
And just to clarify i’m not talking about law enforcement level sun guns that can be shot at range, i’m talking about a little handheld thing like this
Wait it out. Thank you for posting it because I literally never use it all. I filmed it all but that is a large skylanders collection but there are a couple of months with the 400. Both are great try this site for price history https://gg.deals/game/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-vr/
There is a reason there are travel nurses making $5k a month pre-tax. So long as you have an incredible repayment rate comparatively so it's all relative.
I can't wait until my friends' daughter is old enough for this.
As promised, Driven to Distraction it was a HUGE help once I was finally able to briefly get myself in therapy, and it was mind blowing reading all of the experiences of these patients like, holy shit. It’s all me.
I too was “depressed” before I was diagnosed (13/14?) and that was what I was given before finally getting to see a psychiatrist because it had gotten so bad and anti-depressants just could not touch it. (I am not suicidal nor have I attempted, kind redditor who sent me cares, I’m just too much of a perfectionist and over critique myself which leads to self loathing, laziness, and an awesome sense of humor) Thankfully I was in Girl Scouts with a girl who had also been recently diagnosed and our moms discussed it and I got tested.

I am truly sorry the previous generation failed you that way, and please have a hug in return ❤️

Forgive me, I’m on mobile but literally everything you said. The online/personal connection and finally being “got” is completely mind boggling. It’s a struggle still with people who aren’t aware, because they can’t fully relate or they just don’t realize how completely it can debilitate you when coupled with anxiety and depression.
>What if…
Nah, there’s always time. I know what you’re saying, and get the same thoughts and worries but if you look at the bright side that just means after you retire (comfortable life) you can kick anything’s ass you decide to take on once you know the tricks.
The book is on Amazon, and has a digital version (maybe even an Audible) and it is well worth the read.
I know it says US, but I imagine you can get it in England.
I have this installed at my house and at my work. Makes tap water great. I refuse to buy bottled water so I'm so glad this works so well.

As someone with an older brother whose adopted, and have done a fair amount of research on adoption (my moms an editor and published several books on adoption, including The Primal Wound, she’s not entirely wrong about the trauma part, either. It doesn’t cause babies trauma, but children who are adopted often struggle with very difficult and challenging feelings of abandonment, feeling like they do not belong, shame, etc into adulthood. Obviously adoption is an important practice and an act of love, but it comes with its own set of issues.
Not sure, but here's a link to one of them on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Munchkin-Deluxe-Fresh-Feeder-Yellow/dp/B00JQSITZA
