Sorry bro I think this is the real source people were looking for
https://www.crunchyroll.com/jojos-bizarre-adventure
It's also available on vrv, hulu, season 1 on Netflix, tubi tv, and vudu
Stone's artist, Boichi (real name Park Moojik), is a native South Korean.
However, he left for Japan in 2003 due to his dissatisfaction at the Korean government's clamping down on freedom of expression in print manhwa via the 1997 Juvenile Protection Act.
>(T)he Korean manga market (used to have) four major (seinen) manga magazines...but (under the Act) they were forced to cease publication by law...(the Act's rules meant) many adult manhwaga can’t express themselves (as freely as Japanese mangaka)... and bookstores no longer welcome or display adult and young adult manga magazine and titles. They even look down on kids manga.
>The Korean PTA and prosecutors claimed that our manhwa were harmful for children and teens. They treated us like criminals. At times, they even called us to court.
After much consideration (and some protests), he left to start his career in Japan, seeing no future in Korea. He enjoys the freedoms of Japan's manga industry; freedoms of speech and expression that he never had before.

PS. The Korean government also tried applying the same censorship laws to digital webtoons, but had to back down due to intense opposition from its readers. The result is webtoons are afforded more freedoms of expression than print counterparts (ex. big presence of pornographic webtoons).
A gentle reminder the Shield Hero anime was made with the Western audience in mind.
Some backstory - the original Shield Hero webnovel is a cult classic amongst Western webnovel readers, because it was one of the 1st to be fully fantranslated to English. (Also one of the 1st to use the cliche of struggling underdog actively spat upon by the world around them.)
Crunchyroll’s producer saw the viewer potential based on this internet popularity and pitched Shield to their Japanese counterparts at Kadokawa, who were seeking a light novel anime to sell to international anime watchers. (This is also a Kadokawa x Crunchyroll co-production.) https://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-feature/2018/12/04-1/shirobako-is-what-i-do-chatting-with-junichiro-tamura-at-crunchyroll-expo
Quote: So about 3 or 4 years ago, KADOKAWA was looking for a title to make it big overseas, and during that time Crunchyroll and KADOKAWA were talking about some candidate titles. Crunchyroll producer, Sae Ho Song, pitched The Rising of the Shield Hero series to me, and he thought it was a great idea and we went forward with it!
I'd expect both sides to be aware of any controversy associated with this series (especially Crunchyroll; they suggested it in the 1st place) although there is a chance they could've underestimated Western social reaction trends in the past 2 years.
closest thing i know of is hourou musuko wandering son. i is about a boy and a girl starting puberty that are coming to terms with being trans.
Yeah, really hope he doesn't look in the cabinet... then again maybe Mai actually wanted him to look and that's the reason she said anything at all about it.
"Wada met up with mangaka Hajime Isayama every two weeks for over one year to discuss every detail of the show"
That reminds me of one of my favorite anime, Humanity Has Declined, which gets very dark with it's humor, but is presented in a lighthearted fairy tale book art style.
Hopefully now that we got the first Ace Attorney trilogy on literally everything (even as a live-action movie and anime show), I can't wait for the inevitable sequel trilogy and the spin-offs (Ace Attorney Investigations and Phoenix Wright vs Professor Layton) to be ported too.

I played and beaten all of the offerings (exception of those not released in America), so letting PS4, Xbox, and PC owners experience this series is pretty great.
Can't wait to see all the weird mods, especially when people love replacing the characters and such.
" My editor asked me if there was anything I wanted to do to celebrate my 20th year in the profession, and I kept replying, “No, don’t worry about it; I don’t have anything I particularly want.”
But then one day, on the spur of the moment I casually said, “I’d love to sit alone somewhere and read (well, listen) to the final chapter of Furuba with sound, with voices, and with the song ‘For Fruits Basket’ playing, and bawl my eyes out.” I was being glib, just sort of building castles in the air and not looking for anything to come of it, but it sparked this project."

It's an amazing anime, the easiest place to watch it Crunchyroll but there are other streaming/download sites available: https://www.crunchyroll.com/hitoribocchi-no-marumaruseikatsu
The one in Imari (shown in this episode) is a bit hard to reach, but there is another one in Itoshima, and I may actually try to go there.
I'll be in Fukuoka for a few days (part of a 2 week holiday, I'm going next week) and had already added Saga City and Karatsu to my list of places to visit (here are some details on specific spots).
Congratulations, this show has already lured one foreign tourist to Saga...
As Hamsuke is there, there is still a chance that Darkness will meet the love of her life, Neuronist Painkill!
And we are having a beach episode next week!

Crunchyroll promised like six months ago that they would upload a bunch of both CR-produced dubs and Funi-produced dubs, but little had been updated, and many of these weren’t streaming anywhere. They’re finally adding some of them back.
Crunchyroll also added a newly-produced Konosuba dub a couple months ago, and several shows this season are streaming simuldubs, like Shield Hero, Isekai Quartet, and Senko-san.
So trash that their production troubles even delayed the blu-rays by two months.
I don't think Konosuba is getting an English dub. The website they liked talked about Spanish/Portuguese/French dubs, not English, and Konosuba isn't on CR's list of upcoming English dubs
A bit of optimism: In This Corner of the World was by far the biggest Kickstarter success in anime. A small team used the proceeds to make a pilot, with which they convinced big-shot companies to give them a full theatrical budget.
The film was a delicately-crafted masterpiece that was both popular and critically acclaimed. I can't find the article now but the director said they'd redrawn a background over ten times because they were so dedicated to getting the 1940s feel right. This is just one of the things the director did to study Japan's wartimes:
>Katabuchi’s research included studying verbatim accounts of food preparation and ingredients from the 1930s and ’40s. He made several visits to Tokyo’s Museum of Life in the Showa Era (Showa-no-kurashi Hakubutsukan) to recapture the living spaces, tools, clothing, other artifacts and behaviors of daily existence in Japan’s pre- and postwar years. The director has received praise from older Japanese over his careful and accurate portrait of their lives.
A dozen people from that era were interviewed, and many photos examined, so as to reconstruct the architecture of those years. It isn't an easy feat because Japan had changed so drastically after the war, and there are surprisingly few photographs remaining.
Katabuchi said his many years of travel, both in Japan and abroad, helped him build the world.
You might know but incase you don't, Crunchyroll has a guide for locations related to AoButa here if you want to see more.

OH! I just watched this anime a few weeks ago. It was really sweet. I do wish it got more than 12 episodes though. There was obviously a lot of story to tell and things got pretty rushed towards the end.
Here's a crunchyroll link if anyone wants to check it out. It's called Demon King And The Hero or something like that.
Chiba Toshirou is the artist, supposedly.
Google the rest cause I ain't ruining this account more than I have to.
Already exists.
Note: This setting only works so long as you are logged in.
Why do people keep saying this? Crunchyroll pays royalties, licensing fees and directly fund anime
So this is pretty tangentially related but I'll share anyway. If you're interested in Sumo you might be interested in an anime that came out pretty recently called Hinomaru Sumo. It's about highschool sumo wrestlers, specifically Hinomaru who is smaller than everyone else but still wants to become a Yokozuna. I mention it because until recently I'd been pretty ignorant of sumo and thought it was just big guys in diapers hugging each other but the show gave me a better understanding and a far deeper respect if the sport. If you wanna check it out its here
I thought this anime only based on an illustration. Yom actually provide the story, while Fumiaki Maruto write the series composition. So I stand corrected.
That's not an AI, it's the same image smoothing shit filter every TV nowadays comes with.
Auto-tweeners/smoothing gets used a lot in anime, you usually won't notice it unless you look for it because they don't use it on high speed things like that video does. I see it used a lot for slow motion shots with minimal movement, the common artifacting you see is like a bubbling effect on the line art where it's blending the frames together.
I have an eye for this kind of stuff and CG in anime, and I never saw any noticeable use of it in Fire Force.
Here's somewhere I saw it used today https://www.crunchyroll.com/en-gb/lord-el-melloi-iis-case-files-rail-zeppelin-grace-note/episode-1-babylon-the-condemned-and-the-memories-of-the-king-787064 the first 30 seconds of this, each slow motion shot uses auto-tweening/smoothing.
/u/geo1088 Crunchyroll is asking people to send their condolences through this form so they can relegate them to the studio, those affected and their families.
CR has it. I watched the series dubbed, but the festival episode wasn’t dubbed & made a while afterwards.
it's a certificate for her participation
> He is angry people still mention Evangelion in relation to Gainax
This translation doesn't explain enough why (outside of those other problems with Gainax) he is angry with the association and what's also the reason he was compelled to write about the studio now, so I'm gonna paste a translation I got from here
"Essentially here he talks firstly about the recent case with the GAINAX president, he expresses his concern for the victims and explains that Eva has nothing to do with anyone at GAINAX today. He also states his frustration with the media using "Eva production company's president is arrested" both for clicks, and because he thinks people may read those headlines and think he did something, given that he is the president of Evas current production company."
And in case somebody doesn't know, this is the recent case with the current Gainax president.
Yeah, thats because the blurays aren't even out yet.
sao never really had mixed reactions in jp, it's been at least top 5 LN for the past 10 years, and their BDs consistently sell really well, even in the declining BD market. in the west it was primarily just anitubers going "sao bad" and the vocal minority being very loud. and regarding mysteria, there's no doubt quite a few people liked it, but I'd say it's no more than 1-2k. it's primarily just granblue and etc rewards. uma musume had similiar sales with similiar incentives
And this is why Crunchyroll needs to SECURE THEIR SITE with SSL support. https://www.crunchyroll.com redirects to http://www.crunchyroll.com. That is simply not acceptable in this day and age. With HTTPS, the browser warns you when something's wrong with the certificate, as it would be with this type of DNS hacks.
It is nice to Bocchi trying to befriend Kako, it will take time, but I bet she will do it once she becomes stronger. It seems that Sotca still has that issue in deciding if a disciple can also be a friend. And damn, that poor girl lives alone, how sad.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Robin Williams died before he had a chance to vote for Trump. (He was into anime, though.)
Excellent fight, although, yeah, it had some rough parts, but well, nothing that terrible. I would really love to see the comparisons of this show vs the Blu-rays, as they ended up delaying those by two months.
Leach didn’t get cancelled for that reason. It’s a common misconception.
The reason bleach had a rushed ending was because the author Tite Kubo had health problems, specifically with his shoulder.
Here’s the evidence https://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2016/11/17/bleach-author-shares-emotional-story-of-ending-manga
I don’t understand why people spread incorrect shit when a google search is all you need to find the answer.
Ahhh <strong>Occult Academy</strong>.
This was a series i really enjoyed, but no one has really watched... Its about occult and folklore stuff and the MC is a guy who claims hes from the future, sent to the past to stop the end of the world, but he doesnt know what causes it.
It really is something unique and if you like stuff like War of the Worlds, or wierd folklore and UFO stuff, you will love this.
[](#meguminthumbsup)
You can watch it right now if you want. Here’s a link to a free legal stream from crunchyroll. I’m going to have to rewatch it this weekend myself.
There's a joke in Japan that Freeza from Dragon Ball is actually the ideal corporate employer. His demands are very clear, Freeza is always polite, he knows all his employees by name (even Radtiz), gives low ranking soldiers guns to make up for a lack of experience, he's always offering jobs to fresh new talent, he respects Ginyu's approach to team-building even if he finds it silly because it boosts morale. Above all else, Freeza isn't above getting his hands dirty while also not being a micromanager. He steps in when he has to and shows that he has all the skills he expects from his staff but most of the time he trusts people to do their jobs.
This probably says more about Japanese modern office culture than anything. And Toei was half a step away from making it part of the official April Fool's joke. Piccolo is in Human Resources.
Oregairu is just what everyone calls it, but you'll probably have to search it by <em>Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru</em> or <em>My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU</em> to actually find it.
I'm also not sure if this site is updated but it might be helpful in looking for streams in the future: https://because.moe/?q=snafu
Oh, you legitimately don't know?
Well, Dio comes from an anime named Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. His full name in it is Dio Brando, but later he just goes by DIO. His first name is actually a reference to Ronnie James Dio, and his last name is a reference to Marlon Brando. This series is full of references and tie ins from various bands and musicians. The story itself is also pretty great. If you do check it out, whether it be subtitles or dubbed over in English, start at part 1 because that's where he is introduced. You can visit Crunchyroll if you don't mind subtitles. It automatically starts with the later part that's currently airing, but again, part 1 is where to start. Those re-edit's are unnecessary though.
I had to drop the anime... I thought that they were going to do something like My Wife Is The Student Council President where they'd give us both versions, but apparently even the uncensored version of this one is crap.
> just look at every panel of Bleach final Arc
Not entirely fair considering he was barely holding on in there finishing pages without trying to die.
> He has read and kept every single letter. They helped him push through whenever he felt like giving up.
> But his health started deteriorating in the 10th year.
> His doctor told him it was just a cold. In the past, he would get better in a day or so. But this suddenly changed. He’d be bedridden for a week. Whenever JUMP Magazine would have a double issue [and therefore be on a break the next week], he’d stay in bed the entire week to rest. But after a while, that stopped working too. Whenever he thought he was better, he’d get a cold again. No matter what he did. It was an endless cycle.
> He felt pathetic. He felt he was failing as a mangaka. A mangaka is someone who delivers a manga with a set quality within a set time. So should he really continue the series? Should he stop? But the story is only halfway finished. What should he do? How should he end it? He thought about this every, every, every single day
also, not sure if right at all.

> That was because Jump told Kubo to "hurry up and finish so you can get the hell out". By the end of Bleach, Jump didnt want Kubo around and he hated working with them.
That is literally a straight lie. He rushed it himself because his health was kicking his ass. He almost dropped the series entirely
And people keep saying "he hated working with his editors" or whatever but no interview says that. The only thing that comes remotely close is that it was a nightmare back on the days where he was starting with Zombie Poweder and shit. He has said he had incredible freedom for Bleach, and so on.
We do not normally allow political ads on Crunchyroll and ask the ad networks we work with not to run any on our services. However, sometimes ad networks have improperly tagged ads in their inventory, which manage to slip by the block due to that. We have now requested the removal of that particular ad from our rotation. It should not appear any more.

If you ever see any political ads on Crunchyroll, just send us a ticket via www.crunchyroll.com/contact, so we can take care of it in a more timely manner.
How about we talk about Brook having to watch his whole crew dying, while they all know they're dying of poison and decide to play one final song, falling to their deaths knowing that only one of them will live again?

Orsted, i don't know if you're even on this sub, but it's Cedric, I just wanted you to know that the Mushoku Tensei anime was confirmed. Proof: https://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2019/03/15-1/fantasy-light-novel-mushoku-tensei-jobless-reincarnations-anime-project-in-the-works . This is an anime on Crunchy Roll too right now, I bet Babby could use it as a double crossover Games and Anime.
I Just saw the news on Crunchyroll about this.

Absolutely tragic, and so incredibly sad. So many people murdered by a crazy person, and people who probably did nothing but make things that are beautiful and that tens of millions of other people love.
Things like this always make me think how fragile life is, and how it can quickly be over through no fault of your own.
Here's the Crunchyroll story, btw, which is continually being updated.
https://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-980711/your-favorite-ecchi-anime
Some of these are on Crunchyroll others aren't.
I don't have personal experience with ecchi anime soo..
However, the one that I would suggest based on what i've heard is Highschool DxD.
This is also more than 1 billion yen ahead of Conan's 2018 film Zero the Enforcer at this same time last year thanks to Super Golden Week (Zero the Enforcer had earned 6.22 billion yen at the end of last year's Golden Week)
The "best" fanfic in terms of eliciting intense emotion were probably oneshots heavily reliant on their fandom that I've now forgotten; I haven't read anything like that in a while since I don't frequent fanfic sites any more.
But my current favourite is To the Stars - it's practically an original work since it's set in the far future after the ending of Puella Magi Madoka Magica, with a lot of worldbuilding put into the sci-fi technology and the societal changes that would come from computer implants in your head, being a spacefaring civilisation with highly developed AIs, and all health problems including aging having been solved... and also magical girls are no longer a secret but instead are embedded into humanity's military fighting aliens.
You could technically read it without having watched Madoka Magica [Crunchyroll | Netflix], despite it assuming you've read the series, but Madoka is worth watching unspoiled (if, uh, you haven't touched the anime community in the past 7 years) and the fanfic completely spoils it.
Crunchyroll has mentioned that they are fully supportive of the GoFundMe now
/u/djs7124 please update your post to reflect this or remove your post completely since it has already served its purpose in the beginning and is now just going against a fundraiser endorsed by GoFundMe, Sentai Filmwork's president, and Crunchyroll. The only reason I assume you have kept this post up for so long is because of the post karma you are getting
Oda specifically mentioned in a fan-mail segment that he draws all his women like this even though female readers have been vocally upset by it.
this article detailing Oda’s fan-mail thing is literally full of him saying misogynistic shit. i can’t take One Piece seriously because the mangaka seems like such a fuckhead.
This is interesting, Crunchyroll's news article says there's going to be a couple of actors from Guardians of the Galaxy, Venom and Star Wars Rogue One in this one.
I've already seen the sub in theaters here in Australia but I'm definitely going to check out the dub as soon as it's legally available here
Remember to save your masterball for that legendary catch ;)
I almost did this in my last relationship because we met over pokemon. Looking back, it seems way to cheesy.

Crunchyroll have produced a lot of anime. Here's an old list.
Crunchyroll, 3 weeks ago, released a list of titles affected by the ending of their partnership with Funimation.
Crunchyroll reported on this too, except their headline was “Share a drink with Mom at the Evangelion Pub!” which is honestly hilarious
Apparently the link in the tweet is a dud, so here's the proper link.
I'm guessing this is a RWBY take on classics like Bejeweled... God knows though. I've signed up myself because I enjoy these games. They're relaxing after a stressful day.
A Place Further Than the Universe is a great drama, but unfortunately is only available subtitled at this point. It's available on Crunchyroll. If you can look past the subs it's a great story with great animation and voice acting.
Yeah, you're right. CR threw me off with this post Udon contest. I was hopeful since some anime are still released on both like the new Fruits Basket.
Looks like ~~it's on~~ Crunchyroll (~~link~~) LIED TO ME.
[edit: I was incorrect. Thank you for the correction /u/StarManOfAtmora and /u/BoosterGold2442. ]
Sorry, couldn't find it.
Edit: By the way, I've been trying to compile every single hd artwork I could find for the last few hours and am hoping to post an album soonish. There is so much good content there.
Nothing convenient. I had to look up the announcement page to find this much.

Now, I realize we're a game community and not an anime community, but I'm sure there's enough overlap for several of us to have heard about the horrible Kyoto Animation fire. If you haven't heard about the fire, google "Kyoto Animation" and pick the news source of your preference. If you don't know Kyoto Animation by name, you might have heard of things like Clannad, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, K-On!, A Silent Voice, Full Metal Panic, Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, Violet Evergarden, and countless others. I'd like to ask those that read this to send out thoughts and/or prayers for the lives lost and the families left behind. Crunchyroll has put together a small list of ways to help support Kyoto Animation for those that are interested in a slightly more tangible message of goodwill.
Also, if anyone makes a stupid joke on this subreddit about the fire and I see it, you will receive a smack from the banhammer.
Well, you have two options from here on out:
1) Continue watching the series from episodes 14 till 26 (yes, it has 26 episodes total for the first season). Then you can read the manga after.
2) You can freely read the manga at any point of the anime series.

It has been somewhat accurate in the anime adaptation. There are some people complaining about some undermined particulars. It's just probably the difference in medium. The manga panels clearly highlights some information like Zenitsu's sense of hearing since each page is divided into few portions wherein any text or scene is amplified and your perception of this information translates this as "important". When the anime translated this panel, it wasn't given as much emphasis unlike the visualization of Tanjiro's sense of smell like the previous episodes. It's not as bad as some people in r/anime would say but then again, I'm just more tolerant in this translation of media from manga to anime when the key message is presented.
Yeah, the last few episodes have been really good, although there have been some rough parts like that one. That's one of the reasons that I really want to see the Blu-rays comparisons from this show, although it seems that they are also having production problems with those too.

Help me out!!
The show is called 'Darling in the FranXX'.
If it doesn't show up for you on Crunchyroll, try Funimation.
Depending on where you live in the world, streaming services may have blocked certain shows in your region due to licensing issues..
They've also released it on Blu-ray and DVD.
Online stores like Amazon and Rightstufanime have Darling in the FranXX physical copies in stock at the time of writing this reply.
Wasn’t it already announced before but for Fall 2019? Sounds like it’s delayed one season to Winter 2020 now.
I think the bigger takeaway here is they announced a film for September 2019.
Looks like Funimation handled the English dubs for a lot of anime that Crunchyroll was doing.
With the dissolution of their partnership, the anime lists of both companies have been affected.
According to this post the English dub of Mob Psycho 100 (among many others) will be moved to Crunchyroll, but the process will take time.
As for the anime - she appeared in episode 050.
Naruto and MHA authors swapped -- you can probably guess who drew Goku

Technically there haven't been any official announcements about a Komi-san anime yet, it just looks like it might be headed in that direction right now. The VIZ announcement was just about how they're licensing the manga for an official English translation.
There was a big pinned post on this sub a couple hours ago about how the anime was confirmed but that was just mods jumping the gun and it got deleted 10 minutes later when someone did some fact-checking.
That being said, I am ready to riot if they don't announce an anime adaptation for real by the end of 2019.
Season 1 and 2 were removed from CR

I'm no Patrick Mahomes, but when the Chiefs were down 24-0 I did a livestream about the Anime Awards and the entire comeback happened during it. Coincidence??? Vote Chika for Best Girl and Best Ending.
I don't mean that Rei doesn't exist anymore. I mean Anno seriously said in an interview that he forgot about Rei at this point feeling that her arc was over in episode 6. It's why in the previous episode Rei only appears for a second. Anno forgot about her.
> The truth is, I have no emotional attachment to Rei at all.
In the midst of making Eva, I suddenly realized that I had forgotten her. Her very existence. For example, in episode seven, I remembered and added one shot with Rei. I had no attachment to her at all. I think that was okay, because in episode eight, she didn't appear. Not even in a single shot.
> Episode 6 was too early.
> At the end Rei says "I don't know what to do," and Shinji says, "I think you should smile," and Rei smiles. ... Afterwards, when I thought about it, I cursed. In short, if she and Shinji completely "communicated" there, then isn't she over with? At that moment, Rei, for me, was finished.
> When she smiled, she was already finished, this character.
Recap at the end during where the scene happens (naturally) they say that Raph at least got one smooch in
Nice idea but give up on it ever coming to crunchyroll. I made that suggestion over 5 years ago, and there's been nothing.

Rei 3 doesn't cry when she sees the glasses. She breaks them. Rei 3 is mainly portrayed as almost a divine wrath more than anything else.

It's not really hard to see that Anno doesn't really care much about Rei
Regardless, the big ol vat of creepy Rei clones still speaks to this intent as well.

Why do you say that? The Japanese Government is actually pretty harsh when it comes to piracy.
> Back in February, the police departments in Kyoto, Yamaguchi, Shizuoka, Mie, and Shimane prefectures put together a task force to arrest five Chinese nationals who were part of a piracy ring. The suspects are in their 20s and are believed to have illegally translated over 15,000 manga and games, which were later distributed on Weibo.
> Nine Japanese citizens were arrested for operating or contributing to a pirated manga website. They were arrested on October 31st, just days after an industry panel said that manga piracy was rising in Japan.

> At this time of year, Japanese Police have conducted an intensive investigation for illegal uploading of intellectual properties, such as anime, manga, films, and music, since 2009. Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's Anti-Cybercrime Division announced on February 19 that they arrested 44 people for copyright infringement in three days between February 16 and 18. They arrested 33 in 2014 and 40 in 2015.
I personally think Gate is like Overlord. (Someone else agrees.) At its core, Overlord is about Power and all the expressions of Power. Evil is in there, but not the core of the show.
Is there an anime about colonialism of the strong over the weak? If so, I think it will have similarities to Overlord.
Note: IF they release season 4 of Overlord. They have a bad track record.

Funimation and Crunchyroll got a divorce some time back. Shows that weren't co-licensed during their two years together were all reclaimed by funimation...

You have probably been hacked. CR wouldn't start a subscription without authorization. Change your password if you still can, and go to this page and delete any devices connected to the account to make sure:

Other than that, all you can do is wait for the response to your ticket. You will get two bot mails and then anywhere from hours to potentially days later a real person will respond.
The movie will be coming out sometime early this summer.
I see my comment set you off lol. I’ll happily admit I’m wrong since I only have a base level knowledge of this stuff. However, before I go back and link this post in my original comment, something doesn’t sit right with me.
NGE has had multiple Blu Ray bundles come out since the split of Gianax. Heres one back in 2015. If they were in a legal standstill, should they have been able to do this?
Let’s say they can since they iron out the rights to blu-rays. I can understand then that when the topic of streaming rights came up, it would cause a whole bother set of issues. However, why then did the Blu rays not get licensed overseas? They still haven’t been licensed technically. And since they released the Blu-ray’s in Japan in 2015, it’s not like they couldn’t license those Blu-rays out, unless I’m missing something. Cause even if they are small, that is obvious money on the table.
Point is, while this post explains why it took so long for the streaming rights to be purchased, it still doesn’t explain the physical licensing deal. I trust you and I really trust that source, so I will happily concede this point if provided a suitable answer.
