Very timely that you would put this out less than a week after the release of episode 1 of One Punch Man!
Synopsis: Saitama is a hero who only became a hero for fun. After three years of “special” training, though, he’s become so strong that he’s practically invincible. In fact, he’s too strong—even his mightiest opponents are taken out with a single punch, and it turns out that being devastatingly powerful is actually kind of a bore.
With his passion for being a hero lost along with his hair, yet still faced with new enemies every day, how much longer can he keep it going?

I am reading the manga and I love it. I can't say much for the anime since only one episode is out so far and I'm waiting for them to get to the best bits, but the anime is by Madhouse and has very high quality animation.
as mentioned before is an exact match for what you are looking for but you have them all marked as "won't watch". your entire "won't watch" list is of popular shows.
is about the only other show that will fit your criteria.
https://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-980711/your-favorite-ecchi-anime
Some of these are on Crunchyroll others aren't.
I don't have personal experience with ecchi anime soo..
However, the one that I would suggest based on what i've heard is Highschool DxD.
That is an anidb search for main characters who use a giant sword at some point in their show.
Rurouni Kenshin - I like anything related to the Tokugawa - Meiji period, as well as factions like the Shinsengumi, Choshu and Satsuma. Also, the anime is part of my childhood memories :P
Overall, I would recommend Outlaw star is similar to cowboy bebop, and it has quite a few sci-fi elements mixed in with fantasy. Though you may like Tenchi muyo: GXP as well. Even though it is pretty different from cowboy bebop and outlaw star, it does have a lot of sci-fi elements and you can stream it off netflix.
Not an anime, but if you are a Lovecraft fan, you should absolutely check out visual novel Saya no Uta. It is a must-see, unreplicated anywhere else in anime world (that I know of) true Lovecraftian horror experience. Even if you haven't read any visual novels before, it's a really good one to start with.
Another visual novel that is connected to Lovecraft is Zanmataisei Demonbane. You could think its mecha-futuristic lolita setting doesn't combine really well with Lovecraftian horrors. And you would be right - it's not a Lovecraftian horror. It's more like a mecha shounen story with loosely Lovecraftian world setting. You may be able to enjoy it if you keep an open mind and don't mind that [(minor ZD spoiler)](#s "Necronomicon is a lolita girl keeping company and fighting evil with MC"). I enjoyed it after initial shock and disappointment - just don't expect a horror.
I'm also interested in replies to this thread, since I don't know any good Lovecraftian animes. But Saya no Uta is too good not to be mentioned in a Cthulhu-related thread ;-)
K fits the bill. Factions focus around color-based "Kings" in a show that occasionally (okay, kinda often) values style over substance, which isn't to trash-talk the plot. Great visuals, character design, and music. Different colors are up to different things - Red King leads a street gang, Blue King is head of a police-type, organization, etc.
If you missed Kill la Kill, that's got multiple factions beating each other to a pulp with clear power hierarchy.
To rattle off some others: Soul Eater, Valvrave the Liberator (a fun shitshow), Magi, Last Exile
Umm... well the obvious answer is Legend of the Galactic Heroes. It's pretty much the pinnacle of space opera.
Crest of the Stars is also pretty good.
Gintama starts out a bit slow which is why people tend to drop it. But if you stick with it, I guarantee you won't regret it. I also put off Gintama 5 or 6 times and when I finally decided to sit down and watch it the summer after graduating high school, it eventually became my favorite anime of all time.
If the length of the show is really putting you off, then I'd suggest watching Sket Dance instead. The MC here also fits your request (not as well as Gintoki) but they share the same humor and layout.
But seriously Gintama is worth it if you have the time.
EDIT: Words
Monster Musume is getting an anime adaptation in the summer season, just in case you missed it.
Also take a look at 7 Manga for Monster Girl lovers.
I get it's hard to not judge it by its name so I'll also suggest this. Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon (Or DanMachi for short) is a great anime.
Full Metal Panic! It's a fun comedy/action/romance in an alternative future where the Cold War continued on + giant robots. Story centers on a secret organization of mercenaries that accepts contracts to intervene against various military forces/terrorists/criminals. Has a great blend of action and comedy; it's not as introspective and plot driven as Ghost in the Shell or Psycho-Pass, but very fun to watch. Has dubs, but I can't speak to their quality as I've only ever watched it untranslated.
As for manga, why not manga-updates since they do not have any link/zip/ddl or stuff except linking to the group website.
Here's a snap from their about us page:

Anime-planet seems alright for manga as well but the synopsis is missing for the couple ones I've read.
Finally, here's a couple of extra sources from a question in stackexchange.
Kiss x Sis, There is a deep understanding and connection between the Mc and his step sisters. There is a small amount of fan service but nothing you cannot get past.
I tend to write a novella of praise for S&W pretty much every time it fits a request, so I've just started permalinking one of my more detailed posts instead of rehashing the same reply eleventy different ways.
Those all appear to be licensed through Kadokawa. Perhaps they're not allowing Crunchyroll to renew their licenses in preparation of this:
Kadokawa Plans Overseas Streaming of Anime & More via Niconico
[Edit, actually listing this here is a spoiler](#s "School Days") Link is the only one that comes to mind, maybe When they cry? Besides that I don't know any.
Mayoi Chiki: Dude is traumatised by women
The World God Only Knows: Dude just wants to play games
Tenchi Muyo!: Dude knows bitches be crazy
Nisekoi: Dude you gotta watch this shit
Also how much do you need them to want none of it. Uninterested? Hates it? Its annoying? I'm assuming you want them to come around to it at some point or why would you watch it? Unless thats the 'joke' Theres my recommendations if you truly want to go down a harem rabbit hole there ya go http://www.anime-planet.com/anime/tags/harem
Da da da dum... Now and Then, Here and There. It's underrated I think as it's actually pretty good but you don't hear too much about it. A contender for the darkest anime ever made and it has plenty of post-apocalyptic goodness.
Taiga is great for updating what you are currently watching, but you kind of have to go through season by season to add the stuff you already saw :(. You could look at the top anime and see if you've watched them.
Nura: Rise of the yokai clan reminds me of Naruto a lot, similar themes, maybe a tiny bit more wholesome than Naruto but still lots of action and edgy villians here's both seasons on amazon prime
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood has a similar light hearted atmosphere, with the ability to become serious, whenever need be. The premise of the show also revolves around manipulation of your surroundings.
Limited to just movies?
If you're interested in anime series, I recommend Clannad and Clannad: Afterstory.
The recommendations are going to really be based on what you're interested in.
If all you care about is if it's dubbed, Sort by language:dubbed and you'll have plenty to choose from.
Baka to test is so fucking strange (yet hilarious) that I don't think a very similar anime exists.
If you're looking for jus an Ecchi/comedy show, maybe Shokugeki no Soma can fill the void. It's different, sure, but it's a great show, and it does have both Ecchi and comedy.
If you want a long adventure, try One Piece.
In terms of character development, One Piece is one of the tops. One Piece is also set around the notion of Adventure.
Mirai Nikki is exactly what you're looking for.
>Yuki is a disaffected middle school boy who has no dreams or goals in life; in fact, the only thing he has is his diary. Writing down everything he observes and documenting every thought, the young boy uses it as an outlet for his imagination. One morning, however, Yuki wakes up to find his cell phone filled with diary entries for the next ninety days. Thinking nothing of it, he continues his morning until he begins to realize that everything on his phone is rapidly coming to pass, and it isn't just mere coincidence. Now, Yuki suddenly finds himself thrust into a survival game against other future diary owners to become the new Lord of Time.
(From here)
Not a an anime but a visual novel, but Katawa Shoujo is about a high school guy who has a heart attack and has to transfer to a school for handicapped people. It's got a few sex scenes (which you can censor in the options), but it's an emotional roller coaster. Just don't go for a run if you don't want to date the runner. Do note that some of the endings are quite sad.
Chäos;Head maybe. Many people dislike the anime but i think it wasn't that bad and pretty enjoyable, especially when you don't know the vn anyways.
>From there on Takumi struggles to cope with the events unfolding around him, and is soon unaware of what is real or a delusion.
Grave of Fireflies is about as depressing as they come. But I warn you......its sad and heartbreaking. Watch at the expense of your own tears.
If your not in the mood for tears, a REALLY good anime that depicts normal life is Bunny Drop.
I watched K-On to early to appreciate it for what is was. There should be a guide for the anime community that you have to start of with rather shitty shows so that you can look forward to something and not watch all the good stuff first and scavenge through the garbage later in hopes of finding a gem.
Kenichi.
really good series about a weak dude who somehow ends up training with some bad ass martial arts masters. also ofc the girl he likes just happends to be the daughter of the dojo master.
He starts of avarage joe and trough 50 or so eps goes from 0 to hero
Firstly, I'd like to note rule number 6 from the sidebar:
> No illegal content. Consult this list to see which sites are allowed to post.
That said, I personally use Crunchyroll since I watch a decent amount of airing shows every season and crunchy tends to have most of the ones I want to watch. It also has an app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.crunchyroll.crunchyroid
For shows that crunchyroll doesn't pick up in my region, I also take a look at Daisuki.net and Animax.tv (this one's UK only).
If none of the legal sites in my area have the show I want, then I turn to illegal means. Sometimes download (mostly for older shows), sometimes stream using a certain website (airing shows).
I tend to write a novella of praise for S&W pretty much every time it fits a request, so I've just started permalinking one of my more detailed posts instead of rehashing the same reply eleventy different ways.
<strong>Spice & Wolf</strong> has some of the best character writing and English voice acting in all of anime. The female lead is one of the deepest, best-portrayed characters I've seen in any fiction, period.
However, you have to really goddamn love character interaction to get much enjoyment out of the show. There's minimal overall plot (presented in the anime, at least; there's a lot of unadapted source material) and extremely little action. Ninety percent of the show is just characters talking to each other, questioning their motives and desires along the way, but it's done so well.
EDIT -- So, I only just found out about Beck after making my own request on this sub. Turns out that the voice actress I practically worship for Holo in Spice & Wolf was also Maho in Beck. Since you mentioned Beck already, this might be even more reason to look into S&W.
I haven't watched Fairy Tail but on Anime News Network it has an ecchi and fan service tag although on MAL it doesn't. I just wanted to make sure it was age appropriate for a three and a four year old but it might be a false warning. Anyone want to confirm or deny the ecchi/fanservice?
The Twelve Kingdoms is set in a world where kings are literally chosen by some sort of god/god like order. Depending on how well the king does the land either flourishes or falls in to ruin.
Looks like it's a game: Sexharrist of the Dark - Throne succession struggles of Impregnation -
That link looks totally SFW to me, but any further clicking on that page is likely to be NSFW. :P
There's some VNs with a lot of choices but it doesn't seem like that's what you're looking for. Maybe trying checking out an SRPG+VN like Kamidori Alchemy Meister or Castle Fantasia.
To the Moon's fairly well-known. (Offtopic - there's a free special episode you can download from the developer's site, if you haven't played it yet!)
I can't think of a single anime that tackles this issue seriously. If you're not adverse to visual novels though - several people have noted how Rin from Katawa Shoujo shows very strong signs of autism. You can download the vn from its official site for free.
Fist of the North Star synopsis: Kenshiro walks around post-nuclear-apocalypse world, literally exploding people with his fists.
In this scene from one of the movies we see Kenshiro cut a building in half, get shot with a crossbow, then squeeze a guy's head until it explodes and finally he deftly causes the other bad guys to explode into bits.
Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple almost exactly as you described. It has comedy in it, but it is EXCELLENT. And its on netflix. go now.
It's all a matter of licensing, I've been told. Seems the publishers couldn't come to terms with crunchyroll and the like.
Probably the best thing to do is to buy the manga which looks pretty good in it's own right.
https://www.amazon.com/Planetes-Book-1-Makoto-Yukimura/dp/1591822629
Check out {Symphogear} This is in my opinion rare gem that took my by surprise and completely changed my mind on jpop (in a positive way). Quick summary - girls in battle suits are punching and shooting things. And they are singing all the way beacuse it's power source for their suits. 4 seasons and fifth coming in 2019. Watch this clip to see what it is about, this is what dragged me into this series. Expect 0 logic and 100% fun.
Did some intense research (I Googled it and clicked on the third link I saw) and found this.
I haven't read it myself, but according to someone on some website, this is pretty realistic, focused on MMA, (sorry; couldn't find anything strictly Muay Thai), and detailed.
You might like {Spice and Wolf} or {Crest of the Stars}. I S&W the main girl is a powerful wolf goddess, in CotS the main girl is an imperial princess and military officer. In both of these the male and female leads are usually on screen at the same time but the male is the protagonist.
Maybe {Yamada's First Time} or {Wotakoi}.
{Blue Gender} has the right tags in the anidb.net database but I only watched one episode.
There are a few high profile directors/creators who mostly do/did anime original works:
Satoshi Kon : Millennium Actress, Perfect Blue, and Tokyo Godfathers
Ikuhara Kunihiko: Mawaru Penguindrum and Yuri Kuma Arashi
Gen Urobuchi: Madoka Magica, and Aldonah.Zero
Masaaki Yuasa: Kaiba and Kemonozume (his adaptions of Ping Pong (manga) and The Tatami Galaxy (novel) are his most critically acclaimed works)
and here is a <em>mostly</em> accurate list of anime originals, sorted by popularity
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya about Haruhi and Kon forming the SOS Brigade a club to investigate the paranormal. I really don’t want to give away the twist, please watch this before the twist is given away. Also the episodes in broadcast order not chronological order. The Wikipedia page explains it.
As in a serious sort of context? It's rather rare as Japan is extremely strict on drug use and would probably sensor any content in anime. You'd probably have to go to other forms of media to get what you're looking for.
I do, however, know a Visual Novel that fits the bill: Yume Miru Kusuri / A Drug that Makes you Dream. main character isn't a criminal.
My favorite SoL next to Nichijou has probably been Yuyushiki - although I think Nichijou and Lucky Star have more explicit 'Japanese culture' elements I really like the amount of wordplay in Yuyushiki gives you an interesting look at the language. Plus it's very cute and kind of moving.
You might also enjoy Mimi wo Sumaseba - it's a bit dated (which I think it makes it all the more interesting) but it's a really good SoL set in Tokyo in the 80's. It doesn't do much of the usual contemporary school drama stuff (no golden week, no yukatas, no onsen scenes) and it does do a lot of showing the day-by-day living in Tokyo.
I'm glad B Gata H Kei has been getting some positive attention lately. Any forum that I've seen it on seems to bash the show/manga to hell just because it's about sexuality. The show was bashed so much the studio/writers/producers were receiving threatening letters about the content of the show and for "making" the voice actresses say bawdy lines.
The show has wonderful content. It's witty, funny, engaging, and relatable. After each episode you won't be able to wait for the next and throughout the whole series you'll be laughing. With the aforementioned sexuality, the show may not be for everyone.
Welcome to NHK! is about a man who begins to break out of being a shut in. The term used is Hikkimorri/NEET.
This is mandatory watching if you intend to be an anime fan.
O look!
Well Clannad + Clannad afterstory are recommended in that case. There is no love triangle in it.
How about something like Gurren lagann? Has a mix of comedy action and fanservice.
Otherwise maybe something like Hataraku Maou-sama! Bit more on the comedy side in my eyes.
I'm not saying it's a bad suggestion since it falls in line to what OP is asking for, but the show itself is pretty terrible. Just looking at it's rankings from multiple sites, MAL and ANN, the overall consensus is that it's an awful show. It's deffinitely worth a shot if you're new to anime but like I said to OP, if you've seen enough anime and noticed the cliches that appear, than this show has them all to a factor of 10 while trying to be a serious action/magic anime. It just doesn't work mixing the two.
its pretty fucking next level. not at all your typical anime in the sense that its heavily psychological and extremely dark. it becomes more and more about computers/internet/hacking over time. definitely high quality.
Moribito - Guardian of the Spirit is very good. Top-notch animation and art, just a couple very well-animated fight scenes, and no ecchi.
As BlueMage23 said, Outlaw Star is a good Sci-fi with a really futuristic universe. These two are similar to what you're looking for, but definitely have their differences:
It's a pretty good show.
Obligatory Bonnouji. Complete, comedic, light-hearted romance. Less drama than Horimiya, which already doesn't have too much itself, but it has enough cute romance to keep you reading. Happy and conclusive ending.
Think the 3rd one is from Koi to Uso, art looks vaguely familiar
EDIT: Double-checked, yes it is
{Plastic Memories} and {Chobits}, {Mahoromatic} come to mind. There's quite a lot that fit the theme, though.
That sounds kind of like "Zatch Bell" aka "Konjiki no Gash Bell.
100 Demon children from a different world are sent to the human world with spell books that can be used only by a human partner. The pairs fight to decide who will be the next Demon King.
Solid anime
https://anidb.net/character/?cartype=2&ctags.include=mysophobia&do.search=1 shows it and two others.
{Moyashimon} also comes to mind. One of the main characters has a hatred of a certain type of microbe. A side character is a germaphobe.
I subscribe to Crunchyroll (which has already been mentioned) but I also subscribe to Funimation which, unfortunately, has a train wreck of a phone app... but tons of content.
It's available on the <strong>Funimation website</strong> and the <strong>Funimation Youtube channel</strong>.
It's still in SD (480), but perhaps it's better quality than the other sites you've been looking at.
Maybe give JoJo's Bizarre Adventure a try?
At it's core the anime is a shounen, but it has a lot of tragic moments, and there's no asspulls. Characters can take a punch, to the point of absurdity, but you'll quickly see that the author is not afraid to have characters die when they're in a deadly situation. I think it's a great series, I hope it is what you're looking for.
I'm not sure if this completely fits what you're looking for, but Barakamon starts off with a very negative main character who slowly mellows out, and it's probably my favorite anime of all time. So it's not really depressing, more so as a negative outlook on his personal situation, and it does become very colorful!
I didn't see Dennou Coil on your list and it is a really fantastic show. Some people might be put off by the age of the cast (elementary and junior high aged) but it is not just a kids show. It get's quite dark at times. Top notch in every department, personal top ten, etc.
Alright, here goes. My watched list is at about 700 series/10K episodes watched, so it's gotten hard to find stuff to watch these days so please help me out! Not picky on genre.
5/10, The plot is generally interesting up until about half way, then slows down considerably, and then picks up 100x in the very end. The story itself was not spectacular IMO, though the animation quality was absolutely outstanding. I would not recommend Another to a friend, but if you want to watch it anyway, go ahead. It's relatively short and you may like it.
You can read more reviews here.
I'm not really finding it myself, but anime planet has a Food tag for characters, maybe one of the pictures or anime descriptions will be what you're looking for or give you some more clues? Good luck!
Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni the anime itself is fine to watch. If you enjoy that and enjoy reading Visual Novels then I would highly recommend going through
The anime of Umineko leaves out so many of the mysteries. The Umineko series itself is sort of a challenge to the reader. You can definitely reason out the mysteries yourself and it feels very rewarding to do so. It's challenging and not something you will likely be able to figure out on a first glance.
My wife watches Miyazaki films with me but committing to an anime series is something I haven't been successful at. I feel like you have to be extra careful about a show not having any fan service or other things that you just kind of get used to after watching anime for a while.
Anyway, I'm not going to recommend a specific anime, but a blog. Check out the "Watched with my wife" reviews by Ben Kanelos over at AniTAY. He also wrote a guide on introducing anime to your significant other.
It is a great one, though unfortunately ends early due to a disagreement between the director and mangaka.
>What I don't want:
>Villain/Monster of the week, lengthy transformation sequences literally every episode etc. Boredom-inducing repetitiveness in general.
This is going to disqualify a lot of the best Mahou Shoujo shows out there like Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon and CardCaptor Sakura. But see, those shows are good because they do something beyond the monster of the week formula. The monster of the week formula becomes a sub plot to the character development and story. When it comes to CardCaptor Sakura specifically, around half the episodes don't even have a card to collect as that episode is focusing on a major character plot point. So it breaks out of its own formula on a regular basis.
Basically I'm arguing that you should try shows even if they have a formula. Because if you don't, then pretty much you are asking for deconstructions or outliers of the mahou shoujo genre. And even then, a show like Princess Tutu is more of a monster of a week show than CardCaptor Sakura is, even if a lot of the rest of the show goes away from a traditional mahou shoujo.
Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou has the main female that fits your description. Then many other examples across various harems. As previously mentioned, Ami from Toradora is one of the best examples.
Maybe this will help (Some NSFW search results).
It's a VN and not a dating sim (meaning that it's words and choices insead of match 3s and stat tracking), but I highly recomend:
It's free and you can download it from the link above.
Maybe look into play the source material for some of the anime you've watched. Steins; Gate for example.
If you want something free and easy to set up try Katawa Shoujo.
Yes, but basically every episode is about either of those two things. The drama was telegraphed way in advance and felt forced too. But, like you said, the best parts of the show were the parts that had nothing to do with the Amnesia. I didn't enjoy Golden Time as much as I thought I should have so I'm going to suggest something else.
He should try:
School Rumble This is similar to Toradora in that it is a school romantic comedy. The cast is much larger and each and every character gets their deserved screen time. There is a much greater emphasis on the comedy though, as soon as things start to get serious they will often drop a criminally hilarious punchline usually involving a character embarrassing his or her self due to failing to confess their feelings. You can watch it dubbed on Funimation
Have you tried suggesting him some anime from kyoto animation? They have made some very good looking ones the last few years.
List of anime aired from them.
edit:
Also the movies from Makoto Shinkai have stunning animation (especially these Garden of words, 5cm per second and The Place Promised in Our Early Days).
Your favorite anime...
Nah, just kidding I don't normally watch terrible anime since I drop it long before I finish it. But from what I've seen DearS was pretty awful.
Ok, well I will give you 2 then, both of them less than 12 episodes. Both of them occur in the Universal Century timeline, and you can safely watch them without watching all the other series without being lost.
Gundam 08th MS Team . This is actually one of my favorites.
Gundam Unicorn This is a newer series that has gained A LOT of popularity. You will see why once you watch it.
I navigated away from this thread at first, not being able to think of anything I know was as crazy as TTGL and KLK, and generally not being 100% enthusiastic about some of the other suggestions.
However, then I remembered a movie called Redline, and I came back here. You'll know from the first frame of animation you're in for something special, so crank up the volume!
I really enjoyed Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou as well. Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun is airing right now and it's been pretty good so far. It's extremely funny.
It's labeled as shoujo on AP, but I think that's a bit misleading. It's more a parody of shoujo that apes the style as part of the humor... at least that's my interpretation.
no, its actually really fucked up
you'd love When They Cry the most though, its darker than dark. (i dont really know how to link gifs, but here's a few http://weheartit.com/entry/group/40018215 and https://33.media.tumblr.com/1a18baeb6481be71bc51fcc4f2ac078b/tumblr_mvlrv2zL001s5ucs6o1_400.gif (trust me you'd love this show)
I’m just a white person answering this, but I might recommend Dororo
A silent voice gets it's blu ray release this week.
Your Name has been Out for a while
Both will also be on amazon video
Oh, yeah thats true. I never noticed that
If thats the case, i would recommend OP (Not trying to be a advertiser here) get the application F.lux. Its Free.
F.lux makes your screen emit red light instead of blue. Blue light is what causes strain on your eyes and makes it harder to sleep. At first when you use F.lux, you'll be like "This is too red, this looks terrible", but once you get used to it you'll wonder how you even used blue screens.
Heres the official site: https://justgetflux.com
There's only implied sex. It's not even really ecchi.
Now as for Monogatari and No Game No Life; that's some good ecchi
Also, some good anime with Portugese dubs: Fullmetal Alchemist, Ghost in the Shell (movie), Fate/Stay Night, Hunter x Hunter, Mushi-Shi, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Nodame Cantabile
Also: Samurai 7, Dragonball Z, Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, Shin Chan, Akira (movie), Serial Experiments Lain, SaiKano, Basilisk, .hack//, Saint Seiya
In a way it is kind of misleading, the story itself is done fairly well. I loved it (and for the most part, a lot of people rating it on MAL loved it too) - the anime just felt unique that kids and adults can watch it. There are parts in the story where adults will have a better understanding of but won't detract from the main focus of the story, Erin.
The first few episodes might seem slow, but once you get through the first few story building episodes, it just brings you joy to watch another episode.
If you watched Seirei No Moribito, it's by the same author :), also the recipient of the Hans Christian Anderson Author Award Of all the animes so far, Kemono No Souja Erin is one of the few unique ones(along with Natsume Yuujinchou) that I recommend people to watch, no matter how old.
Here is a link to an anibd.net search for characters who are blacksmiths that are either secondary or main characters in their series.
Also, if you just heard about this show recently they might have been talking about episode 1 of the Shaman King remake. That show has a character who is a blacksmith who makes a sword for his childhood friend but I do not remember if he returns after episode 1.
Lodoss- oh.
{Gate} has some.
