Oxo garlic press - not all garlic crushers are created equal! Some are over complicated, some have nooks and crannies that are difficult to clean, some aren’t dishwasher safe. This one is the opposite of all those - the opposing knobby front side of the handle pushes garlic carcasses out of the chamber, it’s very simply designed, and has survived hundreds of trips through the dishwasher!
Yeah it's pricey, but it's solid walnut - our first prototype (which would've been around $90) was modeled after a Boos 24x16" cutting board, which is made out of maple. So with ours, for $20 more, you're gettin a thicker board made of a better wood.
To pre-empt the inevitable questions, here's the pan from this episode.
Fun fact:
This pan looks like a unitasker but isn't. You can make Scandinavian æbleskiver (think of pancakes in lollipop form minus the stick and sometimes fruit filling) in time for the holidays when they are traditionally served.
Honestly, I feel most garlic crushers should work about the same. This is the one I have, it's awesome. https://www.amazon.com/OXO-58181-SteeL-Garlic-Press/dp/B0000CDVD7
You need to get the pasta attachments, then make fettuccine noodles. Cut them up, and you will be blown away at how good it tastes. I've made the chicken noodle soup from scratch, but used store bought egg noodles. I just used the fettuccine attachment for regular pasta, but they are SO thick and delicious! You just need to cut them a little bit after you make them. Specifically this set.
It's a staple in our kitchen....a staple that's never been used.
At first I thought €25 for a damn whisk was outrageous, but then I found this one on Amazon, and suddenly that price didn't seem so bad.

I've made a ton of stuffed pasta a ton of different ways. I don't think this gadget will work very well because I've used similar to poor results. Reasons why this fails:
The best tool I've found for ravioli making is this right here. I had great results!
This is an anime on Crunchy Roll too right now, I bet Babby could use it as a double crossover Games and Anime.
What about that guy who wrote a 2500-page, five-volume set about breadmaking?
That looks to be a Corsair k70 ~$170, with HyperX pudding keycaps ~$25
You can probably find both on amazon
Edit: they keyboard is actually on sale rn https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D5S54C6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_OIO3FbG95HC73
Haven't done any partnerships with movies or car companies unfortunately! Audi, you know where to find me. Closest thing I can think of is a partnership I did with The Barkskins, a show on NatGeo, or Elder Scrolls Online. So long as you aren't confined to either movies or car companies, I can think of plenty of examples of both related and unrelated integrations to my content - either way, I've tried to tie them into the show as best I could!
Related: Butcherbox, Trade, Bounty, Botanist, Bright Cellars, Elder Scrolls Online
Unrelated: Simplisafe, Squarespace, Sensodyne, NordVPN, Audible, Geico
Probably my favorite of all time: Phillips LatteGo
Based on the look of it in the Pizza video it looks like this one:
I use this Cuisinart one from Amazon and I absolutely love it!

On that note, you can also use a cast iron Aebleskiver pan, which you can find on amazon or antique versions at yard/estate sales for dirt cheap. Much easier to find and cheaper than the Japanese version!

Ask your grandma if she has one laying around! She probably got one as a wedding present and it's still perfectly usable. Shoutout to r/castiron!
First you’re awesome. Volunteer and get eligible voters to send in their ballots.
u/OliverBabish huge fan. Full disclosure I stole them from my toddler daughter’s supply found here. Not exactly super-high-end but says stainless steel.
In the meantime, check out "The Flavor Bible." It's a few bucks on Amazon but it's well worth the price. It shows you which spices/herbs work great with different types of food.
Alright, thanks for that.
I’ve been very happy with Meathead’s burger technique… maybe I can use a panade with meatballs…?
I’ve been frying my meatballs, which gives a pleasing crispy exterior and juicy interior but which is a lot of work. Easy to either make it greasy or burn them if you’re not paying attention, too.
okay thank you, i was just confused because of this book but that‘s just the german version

Here in Germany, you can get Mutti San Marzano Tomatoes in some supermarkets and they are good, but very overpriced (over 2€ for a 400g tin). Tbh, you don't necessarily need them. Any genuine Italian canned tomatoes that are from a respected brand will do just fine. If you definitely want San Marzano Tomatoes, these are available on Amazon
He uses the pepper cannon which you can find here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mannkitchen/mannkitchen-pepper-cannon-the-pepper-mill-for-pepper-lovers
If you want something really high-quality at half the price, J Kenji Lopez-Alt recommends the unicorn: https://www.amazon.com/Unicorn-Magnum-Pepper-Mill-Black/dp/B0006GSR76
Get a Lansky system... https://smile.amazon.com/Lansky-Deluxe-5-Stone-Sharpening-System/dp/B000B8IEA4?sa-no-redirect=1 it's a basically idiot-proof way to sharpen your knives. Do it every 4-6 months and they'll stay pretty damn sharp. If you're doing it every 6 months or so start at the medium grit and move up from there in fineness. It'll take about 10 minutes in total per knife for large knives.
As far as other rules: Hand wash your knives when you're done and dry them. Don't ever put them in your dishwasher. Always use a plastic or wood cutting board (No glass, ceramic, or whatever). Don't use your knives for opening boxes, prying shit... Anything like that.
There should be only two cookbooks: Binging With Babish and Eat What You Watch.
Eat What You Watch came first, and Babish has said before that it's mostly a coffee table kind of cookbook - it looks amazing and is meant to be flipped through, but it's not really meant as an actual full-fledge recipe book. Binging With Babish is the opposite: yes it has some cool tidbits about the show and Andrew, but it's mostly an instructional book on how to recreate the first 100 recipes.
I've only got the BwB cookbook so I'm only going off of what I've read for Eat What You Watch. Personally I'm a huge fan of the cookbook if you're actually looking to recreate the recipes of the show
I have something like THIS I use on all my knifes
So the cookware line FINALLY drops tomorrow! We're starting with some ultra-basic prep tools, and will premiere more and more items throughout the year, including but not limited to: a full cookware set (including stainless, cast iron, and carbon steel), a french rolling pin, a BFO (big fuck-off) cutting board, scales, cheese graters, dining sets, and much more.
People have been understandably curious about the prices, and I'm very happy to say that we've hit some extremely accessible price points. I haven't gotten the final exact retail amounts yet, but you can expect knives priced at $25-30 each, tiny whisk sets at $15, and the 3-knife roll at $60. I'm really proud of these price points - the knives are forged German steel, hold a great edge, and we're selling them for less than a Victorionox stamped blade.
There were difficulties surrounding the initial sale of Tiny Whisks this past winter, because as soon as our initial run of 3000 sold out, a scammer company spoofed our UPC and began fulfilling orders. I'm very sorry about that, and rest assured the issue has been addressed - I've shared this info before but anyone who was shipped a fraudulent whisk or never received one at all, please email - they will make it right.
So excited to share everything we've been working on for the past year!!
it's on amazon, from what i've researched this is the type and possibly brand that you want: https://www.amazon.com/Antimo-Caputo-Chefs-Flour-Pounds/dp/B0064R7FLA/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1530753884&sr=8-1&keywords=caputo+00+flour
Ahh, bummer. Can you order from the UK version? The same thing is on Amazon UK for £24.37 and there's another brand of the same size for £14.49 -- a bit better, though I suck at math and am uncertain how the usd vs the euro vs the pound compare off the top of my head!

Stand mixers aren't $400, kitchenaids are anywhere from $150 to maybe 400 for the super deluxe model with a ton of gizmos included. Spiralizers are also available on food processors, I know my Cuisinart food processor came with one. Or if you really want them, $25 on amazon for a dedicated spiralizer.
If all else fails, make regular fries instead of curly.
They sell Mason jars that have airlocks in the lid. Wine and mead homebrewers use them for really small batches. They're designed for fermentation. I don't think they're very expensive either.
Edit: Found a link on Amazon, but the link is for the kids and airlocks only. Jars are not included!

Another rec I’d mention outside of the oil is just to source a bottle of key lime juice.
I’ve seen this at various grocery stores all over the place, and basically just grab a bottle any time i want to make key lime pie. You still get a great end product with it.
This is actually referencing a classic Australian cookbook.
The Australian Women's Weekly Children's Birthday Cake Book
I would love to see him do these, but if you just want to know how to make it, you can buy the book.
Same here, Alvin really simplified this and I really want to try giving it a shot. I’ve seen people use biscuit cutters for a mold, but that would be way too short here. I found this, though 4” diameter might be a little wide.
I think these are them, or similar at least.
I bought an electric 2 pack from Amazon for $49, still haven't had to use the second one nearly 4 years later.
Great for when I need a quarter cup of black pepper.

I suggest the Ialian recipes from Part 4, Episode 10 of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure! It consists of chef Tonio creating Antipasto, a spicy Spaghetti alla Puttanesca, and of course water so good that it is to induce tears upon those who drink it.
Okuyasu Nijimura experiences strange reations when eating the food, and chef Tonio is found out to have powers, like both Josuke and Okuyasu have. Josuke attacks Tonio, only to find out Tonio had no ulterior motives for his cooking, and simply only wanted to spread the happiness of his craft.
> Spatchcock the turkey
My wife and I have been spatchcocking our turkeys for nearly a decade. Results have always been awesome.
I will recommend that when cutting the backbone out of a turkey, you use a pair of electrical cable cutters with curved blades like this one. I am NOT recommending the exact tool that I linked - it was the first one I happened to find with the correct style of blade. These will cut right through the ribs with no fuss and it makes quick work of the job.
Tossed Salads and Scrambled Eggs to all of you out there!
That’s good! The hotter the better when it comes to making pizza. Pizza ovens hit 900°. You could try getting a thermometer that lives in the oven to know what you’re actually cooking at. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08GY3K7KD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_7C2JMSYZTCDMMFH8QT50?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
As u/hearshot mentioned Regular Show has the most so far, but plenty of others with 4 or more appearances!
Yeah, most of the recipies have been great, but the spice beer was gross. To be fair, I hate IPAs to start with. The Romulan Ale and Nuka-Cola were particularly wonderful.
The book is The Geeky Chef Cocktails
Since Babish is a Culinarian himself, I would love to see him make the foods of Final Fantasy XIV now that there's a cookbook coming this November, and other Final Fantasy XIV foods like G'raha Tia's sandwiches and Vauthry's meol.

Fun Fact for Babish: Final Fantasy XIV officially topped World of Warcraft as #1 MMORPG, and they sometimes cross paths on Twitter.
Your mom lied. I mean, it was probably for your own good, but they absolutely exist.

Larger than a tennis ball. Larger than a baseball. Not quite as large as a softball.
He uses them for filmed shots to promote his brand. I doubt he uses them all the time.
I'm not knocking Andrew here. The dude is smart, branding the shit out of himself and making that money. Doesn't mean his knives are worth yours.
I highly, HIGHLY doubt that knife is better than the best knife for the money you can buy
Blade covers and keep them in a drawer
https://www.amazon.com/Babish-German-Knife-Stainless-Steel/dp/B08WJS3KVB The Chef knife is in stock from what I can see. I missed getting a Clef knife and Im not happy about that :(
I've seen two kinds. Glad Press & Seal, which is that kind of opaque one, and then regular cling wrap in a commercial size roll. I prefer the latter, but I haven't used the Press and Seal in a long time. If you have access to Costco, Stretch-Tite by Kirkland is the best plastic wrap I've used, hands-down.
I suggest the Cuisinart coffee bar coffee grinder. Ours is ancient and still going strong. It kinda sucks for coffee due to a small capacity with a small reservoir but its amazing in terms of durability and longevity. Once we upgrade to a better coffee grinder im totally using it for spices. We've had ours probably ten years.
https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01G5MZZ5Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_j0D5Fb8YF729X?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 I think this one, which also got used on the Bon Appétit videos she did I'm pretty sure. Wish it wasn't so expensive; I'm kind of in love with it.
Like the other two have said we have this one, highly rated, pretty sure BA’s test kitchen uses them, I think they’ve got them in the vanish kitchens, this model shows up a lot.
It’s quiet, powerful and pretty great.

I got a pair of Joyce Chen sheers recently and spatchcocked a chicken for the first time. They cut through it SO easily. Definitely recommend them.
I also have a pair of wusthof sheers that weren’t cheap, but they hurt my hands if I use them for more than just a quick snip. The Joyce Chen ones are so comfortable.
Honestly both of his books are so beautiful it’s worth it to get them.
ETA: it’s over 50% off on Amazon right now so now is a great time to pick it up: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1328589897/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_UmgTFbW5VG66Y
The OXO good grips one that he uses is actually pretty good (honestly most OXO products are a good choice). I've had the same one for a few years now and I really like it. It does look like he got a different one recently, but I'm not sure which one it is.
Different brand. But here you go. https://www.amazon.com/Non-slip-Measurements-Folksy-Super-Kitchen/dp/B01ACUA8HC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1499657752&sr=8-1&keywords=silicone+mat+measurements

Admittedly, it's not as fancy, but a little more functional.
>What exactly is your point?
You said there was a deep fryer for $25 on amazon with no source, I couldn't find it, so I found the cheapest one, did some research, and found it was terrible. I offered suggestions and alternatives.
>The deep fryer I’m talking about is this one: https://www.amazon.com/Oster-CKSTDF102-SS-Style-Compact-Stainless/dp/B0773V9QM1/ref=mp_s_a_1_16?dchild=1&keywords=deep+fryer&qid=1600214196&sprefix=deep+&sr=8-16
>Now, as of right now it’s no longer available directly from Amazon. Likely due to the sudden increase searches for deep fryers. But as you can see on camel, it was 24.99 as of three hours ago. And its history shows it can be had commonly for 24.99 or cheaper. https://camelcamelcamel.com/product/B0773V9QM1
As no source was originally provided, I had to do my own research and I did my best to match what you said, and my review is appropriate for that fryer. While this Oster has decent reviews on amazon, I would still be wary of a $25 product that is meant to hold boiling oil, especially from a brand I am unfamiliar with. My kitchen is tiny, and space is at a premium, I would rather keep my dutch oven over getting another one off gadget when i have something else completely capable of performing the exact same task, and I can use my dutch oven for way more. If you have the pantry for a wall-o-gadgets, by all means go for the deep fryer, but it is not in my wheel house. I would still take the America's test kitchen recommendation for the TFal model over it for a few reasons:
1: AMT test extensively in a lot of different, extensive, and borderline abusive ways to ensure the product they put their stamp on, lives up to it.
2: I am familiar, and confident in the TFal brand, I have used their non stick pans for a very long time, and Babs uses their big ol' 12 in skillet too.
Hey /u/OliverBabish do you have an amazon link to the glucose you used? I see this that looks like the one in the video.
There's an equipment list page on his website, lists Schott Zwiesel Tritan Old Fashioned Glasses.
Oh, hey, that looks spot on! ty =)
I want to like the OXO scale but it is laggy and doesn't do well with amounts under 5 grams.
I think people are generally better off with the Jennings CJ-4000, which is half the price right now
Jennings CJ-4000 Compact Digital Weigh Scale 4000g x 0.5g PCS JScale Black AC Adapter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004C3CAB8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_c0AJAbYBRG8NA
I mean, just press it down, yeah? If you don't have a metal turner to smash with, I'd suggest using another heat resistant thing like a pie pan, pot, or bowl. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
