My grandmother used to have this book of ancient Rome with photos of the current ruins, and clear plastic pages with artwork of the structure in its prime. They left what remained clear and 'painted' in the missing pieces.
I loved that book.
edit: HOLY SHIT I FOUND IT!!
My suggestion would be to set up a security camera first.
EDIT: Also, if you want to set up a sacrificial package for the thieves to steal I suggest getting sugar-free gummy bears.
Throwaway because this isn’t my typical wheelhouse of responses/forums but I felt like responding.
I’ll be pretty blunt. Not looking to get into a debate but here’s my two cents and maybe it’ll be helpful.
Echo what others have said, “getting laid” and having a partner is almost certainly not because of your looks. Forming romantic relationships (which honestly is really the magic, not the sex itself but the concomitant intimacy) is complicated and difficult for many people and saying “I’m ugly that’s why” is, sorry to be harsh, a BS copout. Plenty of incredibly unattractive people have rewarding romantic relationships. Also, it seems from your other posts that you are a teenager. That’s how it is for many teens— different people have different timelines for this kind of thing and the sooner you are able to accept that and work on being the best version of yourself the better off you’ll be in the long run.
Get help from a professional if you actually are serious about changing your situation and not just complaining about your situation. Good resources here. I suggest listening to this Reply All episode on the founder of the original incel movement— this person didn’t start it out of hate but the group got away from them and devolved as many things on the internet do. It’s not that you can’t find support on the internet, but it also is easy to spiral behind a computer. Good luck.
/r/help seems to be the proper subreddit for questions.
> Is there a way to remember a subreddit without subscribing to it?
Subscribing is the official way to 'remember' it. You can of course also just bookmark it in your browser if you prefer to not subscribe. Multi-subreddits are useful when combined with bookmarks, if you add a +
in the URL like this https://www.reddit.com/r/pics+videos/
both posts from the /r/pics and /r/videos subreddits are shown.
If you use RES (browser plugin that adds extra functionality to reddit), you get two new abilities to keep track of a subreddit: 'shortcut' (add subreddit to a bar at the top) and 'dashboard' (single page displaying multiple subreddits at once).
> Is there a way to make the font larger (besides zooming in)?
There is an option in the preferences: "allow subreddits to show me custom themes ", this will disable custom stylesheets. This won't make the fonts larger, but it will prevent subreddits from using CSS to make them even smaller.
With RES you can add custom stylesheets and change the look that way.
> What is the difference between posting on my profile and on a subreddit?
The Profiles stuff is a new feature that most users seem to hate and avoid. Posting there makes your post only visible to people visiting your profile, which nobody does. There is an option in the preferences to disable it: "View user profiles on desktop using legacy mode". Just post in a subreddit.
Don't some have a built in timer and turn off after a while? They also have outlets with this feature. But I suppose taking it with you provides the most peace of mind.
Sorry not to answer your question but I don't know of any relevant subs. However, I highly recommend this cookbook as its entire focus is on getting dinner on the table quickly. When my kids were little we used it constantly. Not every recipe is a winner but we were very happy with most everything in the book.

There used to be a couple of really informative groups you could gain access to via google docs run by (IMO) some of America’s top breeders. After a bunch of stupid politics and strain jacking following major legalization, one was wiped clean and the other disabled shortly after.
Fwiw 99% of good info you would find online can be found in this book anyway - just try this and don’t take advice from strangers who are ‘experts’.

Ah crap. There is a website that does this, ~~but I can't think of it now and its bookmark is saved only on my PC at home. You might be able to find by googling it. Otherwise I'll try to remember to update this post once I get home later this afternoon.~~
Edit: I found it!! The site is called "Terms of Service; Didn't Read" at https://tosdr.org
It summarizes terms of service from tons of different organizations and highlights the important points and those relating to privacy. It's a great reference. It's not a sub, but it's the best resource I know of for this particular request.
Edit 2: thanks for the gold, /u/FamouslyAmos00!
I have similar hair - I would love to find such a sub. In terms of flyaways I use this product: it keeps the flyaways down but is not sticky so it doesn't look/feel gross like hairspray/gel etc.

got rid of landline. previously I used https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0191XMBV2 and it worked very well (easy to add new numbers to block too). Now I get zero on my landline because I don't have one (saved almost $1,000 a year and since I don't own any centurylink stock, I don't feel bad at all. In fact when I cancelled, the person doing the cancellation said "getting too many spam calls I bet, am I right?", they know why people are dropping their landlines - or at least something that is pushing them there).
use T-Mobile as my carrier, the block most all spam at their end as a feature. works well.
run in do not disturb on my android phone 24/7. I have an exception set up for starred contacts. Everyone else goes to voicemail without bothering me. If they leave a voice mail or I recognize the contact name - I'll get back to them on my time. If not, no voice mail/not in contacts - they get blocked.
I am no longer bothered by any spam phone calls. People that need to can get in touch with me, those that don't know me (no contact) or don't bother to leave a message get blocked.
That depends on what you want to do.
I'm on mobile so excuse my conciseness and any errors.
Download Rufus.
Download the latest Ubuntu ISO from this page.
Follow the instructions on the Rufus website to create a bootable Ubuntu drive.
Turn off your PC. Boot into Ubuntu from the USB (this may require playing in your BIOS settings). Try all your USB ports.
Access your files and back them up.
Don't hesitate to reply here if you need more info. I'll try to keep an eye on this thread! Good luck!
Ever try gnoosic? You input 3 bands and it suggests bands it thinks you will like, based off of that. It can get pretty obscure, too.

"Mona Lisa"
Painted by Leonardo da Vinci
Compressed into 140 Chinese characters by Flickr user Quasimondo.
Run through Google Translate by Flickr user Mikeg626, and it came out like a poem.
Poem read dramatically by me, formerly known as Macskeeball.
> The whip is war
that easily comes
framing a wild mountain.
> Hello, you in the closet,
singing--posing carved peaks
of sound understanding.
> Upon a kitchen altar
visit a prostitute--
an ugly woman saint--
who decoys.
> Particularly lonesome mountain valley,
your treasury: a dumb corpse and
funeral car, idle choke open.
> Reclassification:
exactly what you would call nervous.
Well, do not suggest recalcitrance
those who donated sad.
> The smell of a rugged frame
strikes cement block once.
Where you?
Cape. Cylinder. Cry.
Genealogy is more avocation than vocation. Searched for my grandmother’s family for a very long time, with no clues other than first names in my baby book.
After my father lost his life in accident, Grandma torched every family document. In the process of tracking her family, I realize I could help others. My favorite part is headstone hunting... I hike through woods to survey and restore primitive burial grounds.
I work for free... others choose to work for payment, because Ancestry monetized every database, and buys virtually every successful independent genealogy company. If you want easy access to those records, membership will cost $20 a month for basic records in America... stuff you can find on the internet.
If you want Immigration, Ship Logs, Ethnic, Slave, Native American, European, or any specialized records costs jump.
People who subscribe to those services try to recoup costs by charging others. I prefer to go to my local libraries, or use online libraries through Libby, the library app by Overdrive. Google Scholar is another free resource.
Do a reddit search for SQL and check out the subreddits that come up.
Supposedly MariaDB is the new darling of open source databases. A lot of web hosts have MySQL available as well.
I haven't developed for either of them personally.
Stumbleupon is no more, but when they shut down they said to go to mix.com
I checked it out, briefly, but never really used it, so I don't know if it's any good. Stumbleupon was cool.
Can’t really help you with the sub, but if you’re interested in the candy, it’s called salmiakki! You can find it on Amazon
I have found /r/learnmath and /r/cheatatmathhomework to be very good subreddits for helping people with specific math questions. I personally have helped many people on those subreddits.
I strongly advise you to try /r/learnmath and /r/cheatatmathhomework. If you have a specific problem that you are having trouble solving then there should be people there who will help you. You can also ask for help if you are struggling with a specific concept. Many people recommend KhanAcademy.org for learning and reviewing specific concepts. I think that site can be very useful for motivated learners and there are other useful sites too.
Note: in my experience /r/math is more for mathematicians but you might get advice for where to look for help.
You might get some good discussion in /r/hiphopheads
I don't remember where, but I saw a video once of Aesop Rock talking about his lyrics and he said instead of dissecting it line by line to let the imagery all come together as one and take from it what you will.
Rap Genius has some collaborative interpretation for a lot of his stuff which you might find interesting. Sometimes I find that people there can stretch things a little far, but at least it's something to think about.
/r/nonfiction seems like it fits but it's small /r/writing might be better at directing you but I'd message the mods first. Here's the "Hub" https://www.reddit.com/r/writing/wiki/hub A list of subs for writers. There are many more not on this list but they're all by writing styles. Mostly horror/suspense.
You could post it to /r/nonfiction and ask them for other subs that they think might fit too.
/r/tipofmytongue is a good place to ask, but they're more generally for finding out a missing title or that sort of thing. They might be able to help though.
You could try http://www.whosampled.com/ ... it's users tend to compile pretty decent data but it's still relatively small, so the database isn't very extensive yet.
~~You don't really want to be putting your information on reddit. Try this instead: https://haveibeenpwned.com/~~

Not an answer to your question but check out Spicetify. I most commonly see it used in unison with Rainmeter and other cosmetic deep dive communities. Might find like-minded individuals over there.
r/Rainmeter
It's not a subreddit, but Pixabay is bae. (Sorry for horrible pun)
All of the images are licensed so that you can basically use them as references without needing to credit. 100% free and there are really good references on there!
Here's a podcast episode about the hatred of leaf blowers. Turns out the high pitched plus low engine sound together is super awful, or something sciency like that.

If you're unable to find the perfect subreddit(s) for your needs, you may want to look into Reddit Enhancement Suite if you don't already have it; there is an easily accessible, quick toggle for "NSFW Mode" that will completely hide any posts labeled NSFW. (There is also a setting in the normal site preferences, but you probably have that on already.)
Some subreddits like /r/tightdresses/ mark every single post NSFW, even those that do not include nudity/transparency, so you'd probably toggle it off if you were even there at all. Others, like /r/FineLadies/ seem to only mark those that are risky, and so this setting could help you out there.
Best of luck!
If you want to learn more or get more into programming I suggest http://www.codecademy.com/ as a starter and to get more into it and start getting real with it I suggest http://www.lynda.com/, it's a subscription based site, but if you can't pay there are 'ways'.
Banned for violence. You can find them on saidit.net and general gore websites (bestgore, documentingreality, liveleak, etc), if you really want. Sometimes the "bad" option on r/FiftyFifty is gore.
Easily /r/BitMarket is dedicated towards this exact situation.
Plus you can take a look at:
I looked at r/symbology that was suggested. Looks fun but it seems to be "what is this symbol" and I think OP wants to know "what should the symbol for x be?" which I love and would join. Right now when I want a symbol for something I put related words into google and choose "Images" and then scroll through them-- not always satisfactory and not deep enough. I have also gone to a reddit for people interested in the topic and asked them.
I would propose a further refinement to the question--"what should the metaphor for x be?" I think the word metaphor captures a deeper level of thinking.
OP might also enjoy the Noun Project if he doesn't already know it. https://thenounproject.com/ oh, is there a subreddit for icons? that might do unless it means literal religious paintings vs representations.
Keep me in the loop!
Not really the kind of thing reddit is good for, though searching through /r/lectures all time top might give you some good results.
If you have specific history questions, /r/askhistorians is one of the best subs on reddit. As for politics questions, Christ no. The upvote/downvote mechanic makes reddit very bad at any sort of political topic.
If you're prepared to put in a few hours, try
Try here: https://bluemaxima.org/flashpoint/datahub/Game_Master_List
It's a website that is collecting all of the old flash games they can find to preserve them since Flash isn't going to be supported anymore after December 2020.
You can request games get added, too, if you don't find it there.
/r/PhotoshopRequest might be able to help with this. I also found this website from this reddit thread on /r/InternetIsBeautiful.
Good luck!
How about http://www.bandisoft.com/honeyview/ ? I use it for reading comics, but it works fine for normal images too. http://www.irfanview.com/ may also work (Haven't used it in a while, so I'm not sure)
it'll preserve any separately encoded subtitles listed. https://handbrake.fr/features.php
The wiki covers how to use it properly.https://trac.handbrake.fr/wiki#DocumentationHelp
You'll still have your original media too, so you can experiment with different things to get the hang of using the program without any worry of screwing up an irreplaceable version of a file.
Plan an evening where you'll be free from distractions to learn it. It's simple to download, setup and use but there is a learning curve with all the bells and whistles.
/r/TheSongRemainsTheSame has a request policy, but that doesn't look to be the main purpose of this sub (also it is focused on melodical similitudes):
> Use [Request] in the front of your title if you want to ask for a similar song to the song you posted.
> Example:
> [Request] Led Zeppelin - Kashmir (1975) vs. ???
On the other hand, as stated by /u/gridzbispudvetch, the style similitudes are something usually covered by streaming sites like Pandora or Spotify. If you're interested in genre sorting, then Everynoise is the place to go: http://everynoise.com/engenremap.html
Pandora is sort of like what you are asking for. It isn't entirely random, but it plays random songs that it thinks you will like based on your likes and dislikes. You have to start it off with a song, artist or band, and it goes from there. Each time a song plays, you tell it if you like it or not. Pandora won't play songs you don't like, and it will find more songs that it thinks you will like.
Slacker is similar to Pandora, and iirc, you can start that one off with a genre, instead of a specific song or artist, and I don't remember if there is a limit on the number of genres you can start it off with. The main difference between the 2 radios is that on Pandora, you can only ban a single song, but Slacker lets you ban a song or artist. Both let you create multiple radio stations and modify each station.
pretty sure this thread is just made up of russian bots looking for a new target, i made a similar comment that got downvoted into oblivion.
there are so many things wrong with this demand Carlin's latest podcast illustratest this point pretty good
/u/MSweeny81 covered the base pretty well, but if you want, there are a couple websites that could help you find some bands based on ones you like. Gnoosic has a feature that recommends based on three bands you enter and also has a "music map", while Musicroamer has a more detailed music map option. Hope this helps!
download http://www.audacityteam.org/ and run it through this. You can string it out and listen to the tiniest portions over and over if you want.
Sound recordings are all on one wavelength. If there is background noise it can't be removed without taking underlying sounds too. With audicity you can remove highs and lows and quiet tape hiss and more. But it's a tool that requires a little bit of effort to use and to learn to use. It's not hard to do. It just takes a bit of time is all.
there is /r/audioengineering but they don't want to do it for you. They've got related subs https://www.reddit.com/r/audioengineering/wiki/gettingstarted#wiki_related_subreddits they don't want to do this either, you can try them unless their posting rules state you can't. Though they will explain things for you if you need. Never edit an original recording. Edit a digital copy. That way if you destroy it you can always make another copy.
I don't understand your second sentence, but if your question is technology-related you might wanna try something on http://stackexchange.com (maybe https://softwarerecs.stackexchange.com/) instead of reddit.

Ah, the sports angle is perfect. You probably want a book like this: https://www.amazon.com/Eat-Like-Champion-Performance-Nutrition/dp/0814436226
I remember reading The Modern Gentleman: A Guide to Essential Manners, Savvy and Vice on a long flight and enjoyed the heck out it. It was given to me by a friend before boarding and it made the 14 hour flight absolutely bearable and borderline enjoyable.
I've just been reading the Amazon reviews on it, and it seems that those who liked the book appreciated it for what it was - which is a semi-tongue-in-cheek, lighthearted but well-rounded effort at covering all of the social bases when it comes to acting like you've been there before when perhaps you haven't.
Those who didn't like it gave reasons that ranged from the authors coming off as verbose and pompous know-it-alls with a penchant for a thesaurus, to being upset that the authors weren't know-it-alls because the book wasn't actually the Holy Grail of how to be a modern gentleman they thought it would be.
If you would like a break from putting in serious work on bettering yourself in social situations while still working on bettering yourself in social situations, you will enjoy the laid-back and playful tone of this "self-help guide". You're not going to walk in to a members only yacht club after reading this book and impress everyone there with your grasp on social etiquette, but you will be more comfortable hanging with new friends knowing that unfamiliar social situations don't need to be stressful and stuffy, but instead can be easy-going and accessible.
It looks like it's $10 on Amazon, if that's a reasonable price for you to jump on.

Pan's Labyrinth is such a fantastic movie! Did you ever get a good copy of it?
Anyone on the LAN can sniff your packets. The content is hidden if they are encrypted, but even if they are anyone can still see the destination IP and reverse DNS the site or service you are accessing. Look at a VPN like Private Internet Access. It's cheep and very fast. When the VPN on your computer is active, every packet from you computer destined to a remote network (outside the LAN) will first go through PIA's servers, so all that anyone would see by sniffing packets is a bunch of traffic between your computer and a PIA server regardless of the sites or services actually being used.
I'm not able to check at the moment so I can't give you exact names, sorry, but I did a search on the google play store and this is the sort of thing I mean:

Why not Buddhism? It has evolved a lot over it's long history. So there are branches that are more and less into ideas like personal gods, reincarnation, etc. I suggest pretty much any book by Thich Nhat Hanh as an introduction, but The Miracle of Mindfulness is a great starting place. Don't let "miracle" throw you; he has a great saying that walking on water or air are not miracles, the real miracle is walking on the earth. Most of his writing really avoids going deeply into the metaphysical, while still indicating the directions that Buddhist metaphysics does develop in. At the same time, he does deal a lot with questions of ontology, but in ways that I think are perfectly understandable and acceptable to a rational, scientifically oriented mind. For example, he often refers to the ways that contemporary science supports ideas like interbeing.
Check out /r/buddhism or feel free to AMA.
I don't know much about sleeping too deep, but would an app like Sleep as Android help you?
It allows you to set a timeframe during which you want it to wake you up, and it'll wake you during a phase of light sleep.
We Rise, We Resist, We Raise Our Voices - 'What do we tell our children when the world seems bleak, and prejudice and racism run rampant? I don't have an answer for a reddit sub, but have you considered asking on http://superuser.com (or maybe one of the other Stack Exchange boards/sites)? I've found that to be one of the better places for connecting with power users, engineers and IT at most all levels. It's not always helpful, but it's far better than /r/techsupport.
Compact and Powerful Car Jump Starter
Our lights had been accidentally left on, and the battery went out. The car had been off and wouldn't crank for over two months. So I bought the red and black DBPOWER 800A 18000mAh Jump Starter (model# on the back of the device is DJS50).
The product arrived quickly, but there came a problem. My mom and I (both women) are no mechanics, and in fact, we don't do most of the fixing, but we were able to get our 2006 Chevrolet Equinox jump-started, although it took a little figuring out.
First, I accidentally misplaced the manual. So I googled the manual and found it on DBPower's website, and if you, like me, bought yours somewhat recently (May 2020), then you may notice that the manual on the website uses jumper cables that are different from yours!!
I did find the paper manual it came with, but in any case, the newer models do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT have a "booster" button on the chunky part of the cable that connects to the device. There is no button on the new wires, and the more recent models have an LCD screen where the lights pop up. Once I found the manual, though, it correctly showed that there was no button on the new model. (If you receive the old cable, visit their website and navigate to their downloads; you can find the manual, which gives instructions on using the cables with the button).
The instructions state if you can't get it to crank, disconnect the device, and wait at least 5-10 minutes before trying again.
It also states you should wait at least 30 minutes after jump starting before charging your device again.
Hope this helps someone out there! Here’s where to get it 🛒
¯\_( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)_/¯ No idea. When we bought the oven, we waited for months because of back orders and I think COVID had something to do with it. Home Depot said they'd get us an upgrade which included an air fryer option, but we ended up getting the one we bought. We have used baking pans and even a wire basket thing meant to cook things like as if it's air frying, but nothing beats an actual air fryer.
I want to buy a craftsman 9-41421 1/8x2" slotted screwdriver. Amazon has the 1/8x4" version but I don't want that.
This is what I want but it's unavailable and I can't find it anywhere else except ebay.
Just a heads up, it's essentially impossible to identify an illegal pill from just a photo. It could be any of a thousand different things. What you can do is buy a test kit which will react to common adulterants in drugs. There are other kinds that will tell you what specific drug it is too.

Sorry for the late reply Just got home. So later this month is Chinese new year. 2020 is the year of the mouse. I will be celebrating the new year with my family and wanted to surprise everybody that I am pregnant. I want to print out a graphic card representing a mommy dragon (me) a daddy dog (husband) and a baby mouse (my baby to be born in Aug 2020). Something kind of like this but with the specific zodiac animals. I'd like some sort of text saying something that goes with the theme of winning a race because the zodiac animals are based on a fable in which the 12 animals are competing in a race. The mouse was the first to cross the line this is the first animal in the zodiac and entering 2020 first. https://www.shutterstock.com/image-vector/2018-year-dog-greeting-card-cute-788366002
Is it supposed to only give you one recommendation (twice) and the most obvious one which you've most likely watched already? Honest question, could just be my Noscript or Java settings.
My tried and true method is to simply use Metacritic lists, like this one: http://www.metacritic.com/browse/tv/genre/userscore/sciencefiction?view=condensed
Holy shit. You're me.
I'm sorry to make this about me, but I didn't pass high school math until my 2nd year in college.
I remember driving up a hill in my car, hadn't done ANY homework all semester, barely passed 2/3 tests, failed the other 1/3.
I remember I was about to give up, as I was driving home from class but, I distinctly remember driving up a hill and telling myself I wasn't going to give up, roll over and fail like always.
I sat my ass down for 2 days straight, did every piece of homework for the class, went in and took my final and got a 98/100. The professor was even floored.
Learn. Use YouTube, or shit like https://www.mathway.com/Algebra to reverse engineer problems.
Dude, just keep the positive attitude. I know it sounds like bullshit, but my GPA was below a 1 my 2nd semester of college, and I was able to make it into a 3.1 before I graduated.
When I was your age (early 30s now) I thought my life was going to be dog shit, but not to humble brag, but I just bought a house, a 20k car, and having a child Wednesday next week, and I can afford it all, because I doubled down on myself. You've got this shit. Don't give up dude.
use https://www.deepl.com/translator you can only translate 5000 words at a time in the free version but it offers the best results of any software translators out there..

I was inspired to write up this question by a poll on /r9k/ https://www.strawpoll.me/16352084/r . 55% of the board was 20 years or below. I would guess reddit forums on similar topics are very similar.
See table 4 https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/ad/ad362.pdf
Statistically most such virgins are just going through a normal part of life and will lose their virginity. I don't want a reddit flooded with neurotic kiddies who actually don't have real problems and don't really know what I am dealing with.
Virginity itself isn't really the real thing. The thing is social difficulties but virginity is a really easy way to filter out the vast amount of normal people. I'm interested in talking to the around 1 to 5% of the population who actually understand the kind of social isolation problems I face and not kiddies or trolls.
I googled and came up with this http://sqirlz-morph.en.softonic.com I don't use windows that often so i read a bunch of user reviews. (http://download.cnet.com/Sqirlz-Morph/3000-2186_4-10304209.html).
Majority of them were overwhelmingly popular. A few claimed malware. Some refuted the malware claim. Your call.
When I have to clean it I usually just use normal detergent or if it’s truly dirty bleach that I use for delicates. This is the symbol I was talking about that gets the water out the washing machine without open it. Is you washing machine new? Drain water icon
I dont know of a sub but this websites really good. It lists all the streaming services and where to find whatever. Just type in the show or movie and it will tell you if you can stream or rent it. https://www.justwatch.com/ Theres tons of other ways too but not gonna list that on a public forum but youre welcome to DM me for more info. But thats a good site.
Sure, here's the file of what I did actually. Should be pretty clear the difference if you hear the original. I couldn't figure out exactly when to start the cut to have it flow perfectly, and at the end of the chorus, there's a slight glitch in timing.
I just started with the original song at 320 Kbps.
In case you don't know the song, there's a single version and an album version. The album version has a woman singing a little thing in the intro, and the single version doesn't. The one I downloaded happened to be the single version. I don't care which you use if you try it.
If you do, thanks a lot!
Then you should be able to remove your entire operating system if you wanted to. Just open a file browser app, search for weather.apk and delete the file. It seems titanium backup can uninstall apps too and there are a bunch of other tools that would probably do this more cleanly than deleting a file.

It'll backup your disk into an iso image ( which you'll still be able to open with 7zip for example, and burn it back too of course ) which is kind of a standard to backup disks.
I don't know a subreddit for this, but I found this:
Waka waka? That sounds ballaballa and is as meaningless as "Simsalabimbambasaladusaladim"? But waka waka comes from the Bantu language Fang and means something like "Let's go" or "Let's go now!". The chorus is based on a popular Cameroonian song, which became famous in 1987 through the group Golden Voices. It was originally a march and was sung by soldiers outside Cameroon.

Plus a translation to german, retranslated to english via deepl:

You are a good soldier
Choose your battles
Get up again (if you fall)
And knock the dust off you
Get back in the saddle
You are at the front
Everyone's watching you
You know it's serious
We are getting closer
This is not over yet

The pressure is on you, you feel it
But you can do it all; believe in it!
If you fall, stand up, Uh-oh
And if you fall, get up anyway
Who asked you to come here?
Because this is Africa.
Come on anyway anyway
Go ahead anyway
Who asked you to come here?
This time for Africa

Listen to your God, that's our motto
Your opportunity to shine
Don't wait in line
And we're going all the way
People's expectations are rising
Go on, feel it
This is your moment
Do not hesitate

Today is your day
I feel it
You have paved the way
Believe it
If you fall
Stand up oh, oh
If you fall
Get up eh, eh

Who asked you to come here?
This time for Africa
Come on anyway anyway
Go ahead anyway
Who asked you to come here?
Wait a minute
Come on anyway anyway
Go ahead anyway
Who asked you to come here?
This time for Africa

I'm wondering about the exact same thing, don't know of a place for this on Reddit.
What annotations are you talking about, for example for the article you mentioned? Have you tried hypothes.is? Sometimes I see public annotations on there, though admittedly very rarely.
You could always just get a cheap external drive and use your existing copy.
I'm not sure if there are any particularly effective groups for this task, but the two pages I use are here and here. The first is a customized Google search that only looks on certain websites known to house electronic versions of books, and the second one is much the same, albeit with its own interface. Both of these will yield the anthology, not the short story, though. On the other hand, you could always use the tried-and-true method of qualifying your search (results) on Google, as below:
>"dark they were, and golden eyed" filetype:pdf
This isn’t the right era but may be a worthwhile place to start. Interesting podcast episode as well that you may enjoy:
Not a sub, but there's a shortish (30 min) Radiolab episode that covers this topic, and it's super interesting!
try http://www.ifixit.com/ best website to see how much work is required to fix almost any electronic, youtube is great to actually watch them take apart a phone, and understand the tools you need, my basic kit included torx screwdrivers down to t2, from t10, along with very fine Philips and flat head, along with a heat gun, and some plastic spludges to pry, if you work with iphones the pentalobe is another addition, pretty basic tools, heat gun being most expensive.

Led me to:
I ran it and it works. Run the file called "HDKWIN".
Appreciation for not giving up! You've accomplished the 2nd level of being a great auto-didact
But "The Odin Project" should be(for better, atleast, mostly the makes you familiar most, if not all the things in web dev) your first step towards web development. Link=> https://www.theodinproject.com/
Just a brief description for why you should care to visit the site inspite given all recommendations above already:
• This is made by web devs for web devs using free and open source content gathered from all over the web worldwide. • Those guys know what they are doing and why are they.
Just some more examples that came to mind:

I learned a very basic level of Spanish for free. I went to a Spanish language meetup group from meetup.com, I also used about 5 websites (mostly Duolingo, which is/was free), and read picture books in Spanish. I was able to read simple novels by the end before I started hitting time constraints and stopped studying it a number of years ago.

I got into books by the library (obviously), but also using the libby app for audiobooks. My yearly reading list has quintoupled all for free. Once you start you learn what books are good and what to look for and you can find great titles at thrift stores for 1-5 dollars.

I ride a 30 year old motorcycle, it's awesome. I paid a couple hundred bucks for it and bonus points b/c I like working on things and I often have a project with it. I've applied my car repair skills to the bike, but would love to find more cheap ways to learn to work on it better.

I have 2 mountain bikes (full suspension and a specialized hardtail) and at my peak in-shape level, I was able to beat my buddy who has a $2000 bike on one that cost me 1/8th the price.

If I found people who did that stuff cheap I could have shaved a huge learning curve. Most communities are full of purists who believe you need THE BEST gear, which is legitimately true for many hobbies and I've learned it the hard way giving it a shot.

Yes I can't speak Spanish like someone who bought plane tickets and got 6 months off work/school to go to Spain, I have never been on a track with my motorcycle, I won't win any mountain bike races either, but I have a lot of fun and have not spent thousands on any of these hobbies.
