Ssscat. Although the replacement canisters are kind of expensive, I recently found out that the top is fairly universal and apparently you can just use compressed air from Staples or something. We have gotten to the point that we don't even need it on our counters anymore, and mostly use it if we want to keep the kitties out of a room temporarily, we just set it outside, and they stay away without scratching at the door. We usually don't even turn it on anymore.

I wanted so badly to entertain my dog and cats with bubbles, but I was reminded that bubble soap is toxic and bad for them to ingest.
I found food odor bubbles (bacon), and strangely, my dog and cats want nothing to do with it. And let me tell you, they are the hungriest fucking animals on the planet.
They are actually called Movies for Cats, and this one is called Movies for Cats: Forest Songbirds. Hope you guys have lots of fun!
amazon, there's quite a few varieties
Buy some split loom off Amazon. We bought 100 ft of it for super cheap. You can get different sizes depending on how thick the cable you need to wrap is. I think we got 1/4 inch? I don't remember, but it cured our chompy cat of chewing on cords. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PLY92TA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_f.fmzbG9GRWRF
Turn it on then walk away, 5 minutes later you will hear the grind of the gears as it attacks it.
Did this with my brother's cat and she has now destroyed 4 of these things. She can't wait until we get home and turn it on again.
!!!PIECE OF ADVICE FOR ANYONE WHO BUYS THIS!!! BUY RECHARGABLE AA BATTERIES FOR THIS. The batteries will drain after a few hours and you don't want to be paying out of the ass for batteries. Amazon has a good setup for this for $18.
EBL 8 Bay AA AAA Battery Charger with AA 2800mAh (4 Pack) and AAA 1100mAh (4 Pack) Ni-MH Rechargeable Batteries https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FQ6K7TC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Dd4tBbSBE57WJ
Fountains like that are always a bitch to clean. Too many small nooks and crannies to get into.
This is the one I have and it's a breeze to clean. Takes about 2 minutes with a scrub pad (non-scratch) and a straw brush. It takes me longer, but I run the pump in a 1:3 vinegar solution for 5 minutes to clean it. Or just throw everything but the pump in the dishwasher.
All common de-icing products (usually various types of salt, in the chemical sense of the word rather than culinary, such as calcium chloride) can cause chemical burns to a dog's feet and if ingested (i.e. as they lick their sore feet afterwards) can cause gastro-intestinal issues.
The effect this has on a dog's paws varies depending on how cold it is outside, how much product is on the streets, how long they spend walking in it, and the existing health of their pads (e.g. whether they are cracked, dry, or injured).

Booties, cleaning their feet, and/or paw balm are all excellent ways to navigate winter walk risks.
It's the drinkwell platinum you can get it from a bunch of different stores.
I have had mine for 7+ years now I think. Works pretty well for two cats, instead of filling up water bowls every couple days I fill that up once a week or so.
That's exactly why we got them. We got them off of Amazon. Here's exactly what we bought
PetSafe SSSCAT Spray Pet Deterrent, Motion Activated Pet Proofing Repellent for Cats and Dogs, Environmentally Friendly https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0721735K9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_AICeDbZB9F9XJ
ScratchMe Cat Scratching Post Lounge Relaxing Bed , Cat Scratcher Cardboard with Catnip, Durable Recycle Board Pads Prevents Furniture Damage, Yellow/Green Color https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NWRR2SP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_UbtfFbJ843346 Found this one.
Words often have two meanings, though. I guess this means that the use of "plaster" to mean "a medicated or protective dressing that consists of a film (as of cloth or plastic) spread with a usually medicated substance" no longer exists in the US (though Merriam-Webster is an American dictionary)? This etymology dictionary indicates this is an old word so it's not like the UK just made it up to annoy you.
Try Ssscat, it’s a motion sensor attached to a compressed can of air. My cats did not give two shits about the tin foil but this thing really works. Plus you can refill them with a bike pump so you don’t have to keep buying more
PetSafe SSSCAT Spray Deterrent https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000RIA95G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_S9F315WAG3CT1FF5792H
I don't know if it's like caulking, but that's the area I buy it from. It's this stuff. I imagine it would work for your other things, but it depends on the weight, I suppose.
SULIVES Shiatsu Back and Neck Massager, Massage Pillow with Heat for Muscle Pain Relief, The Best Relaxing Gift for Home Offices and Cars https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088K1RDBG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_-DbyFbTK5G5RA
Purchased at a store Southern Agriculture. They are solid and very much like The Da Bird
They are made to move fast and spin the feathers. This is a full action toy. I'll edit this post if the packaging is different.
Some models are better than others. I got one from PetSmart and it broke in days. Then I got another one and it also broke in days. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DSSA54C?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share is the best one I've found. They still break because they're crap made in China but the one I have now runs about five hours a day for months. Just get some Eneloop AA rechargable batteries and their C-cell converter or you'll have big regrets.
Quick google search and I found this which seems similar to what's in the video https://www.amazon.ca/Cats-Meow-Motorized-Wand-Resist/dp/B00DSSA54C/ref=asc_df_B00DSSA54C/?tag=googlemobshop-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=292974800526&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=13832426283040127744&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&...
https://www.amazon.com/Insignia-LYSB00Q0J3MGO-CMPTRACCS-USB-Microphone/dp/B00Q0J3MGO
It's this in case anyone is wondering lol. It is a bit strange looking. He was eyeballing it from across the room so I brought it down to cat-slap level for him to investigate and this video came into existence.
My niece fostered kittens for awhile. She ended up buying a surgical onesie for the Mama cats when the kittens wouldn't take a hint.

These are GREAT. Doesn't stop the noise, but it keeps them hanging!
The Drinkwell Platinum. I bought mine in 2010 and it still works like new.
This is what I found on Amazon
Might try those little rubber thingies to put around the tags, like you can get for keys. It should help to dampen the sound and prevent the clinking that's causing it.
Apparently round dog tag silencers exist for military dogs, makes sense. Here's an amazon link, if that helps: https://www.amazon.com/Military-Dog-Tag-Silencers-Set/dp/B00KM80MHG
https://www.amazon.com/Ruff-Ruffus-Portable-Foldable-Collapsible/dp/B07CZ3FNTD
the small one is useless imo
The medium one works well as a bedtime crate/safe space.
The large one works best for a new kitten/cat/puppy. enough room for a litterbox/pad a few toys even a small scratching post and bed. Opens from the top so it's easy to clean.
They also make “pill poppers”. Using the mlem technique with it gets the pill deep in their throat. I was a vet tech for a bit in my 20s. Jorgensen Pet Piller https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002ZAG84/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_AJC11T6P8W8HB69M8WVV
These things make the process quicker and easier which is good for the cat and you.
P.S. “mlem move” is awesome
Your conclusion is reaching. We don't know what cats think of as self, if anything, and it's obviously really hard to design experiments around.
Not passing a human-centric test doesn't prove lack of awareness of self, though it is evidence of it. For dogs specifically, check this out: https://www.theatlantic.com/science/archive/2017/08/can-dogs-smell-their-reflections/537219/
A creature that isn't primarily visual wouldn't necessarily respond to a mirror or care about a visual mark. I mean, ants pass the mirror test, and I kinda doubt that ants are more self aware than dogs. https://scinapse.io/papers/2180773430
Moreover, do you have a source for the pointing behavior? All I could find was research indicating the opposite, cats could recognize pointing, but also that cats lost interest when the object wasn't already visible.
That doesn't make it any less valid.
Here's more information and more justification not to be using .htaccess.

If they eat batteries that bad definitely get yourself some rechargeable batteries like these
More expensive up front but they pay for themselves over time
Ours did the same. We got these for the top of the stereo receiver and other warm but fragile electronics. They're just light molded plastic spike trays. The more adventurous/ saucy of our two will still sometimes try to tiptoe her way ACROSS the spikes like she's walking across hot coals, but she won't sleep on it.

Bought this one, it's pretty great, very strong, even heated if you want:
Thank you for your comment. Had you not said anything, I would have left the video and moved on to other posts, completely missing out on the fact that it has sound! My reddit app of choice (Relay) mutes videos by default.
My cat was eating the little sparkly pieces which didn't seem like a big deal, but the reviews I saw showed the older cats were eating the whole thing or a big chunk of it and it was causing blockages they needed emergency surgery. I hated taking it away too, but I didn't want a $4500 vet bill. Just the first few reviews turned me away. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LJ392JC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_EjY4FbKX29FC8
My cat is 20lbs and I don't trust the suction cup ones so I got this one and my fat cat loves it. Super sturdy and plenty of room https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07HMW48SN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_Rw1PFbS7QH1Y6?psc=1

I'm starting to think this isn't default Reddit? I have Reddit Enhancement Suite on PC, and I have the same feature on my mobile app: Joey for Reddit. Perhaps I'm thanking the wrong people.
Idk what country you're in, but yeah I was talking about the US. I'm not sure what they pop with, but they all use shit like this (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AXK9ROC/) for topping and Flavacol butter flavored salt. It has a ton of calories, but damn it's delicious. I've tried using actual butter and it just doesn't taste buttery enough. I think I'll go make some now.
The one my grandparents had is probably 50 years old, but this looks like a modern version that may be less likely to burn fingers: https://www.amazon.com/82505-Electric-Popcorn-Stirring-Convenient/dp/B00KL8SM92?th=1&psc=1
I'm bored and have nothing else going on.
This Velcro tape on amazon is $8.25 and is 15' feet of 1" inch wide tape. You could probably get away with doing an inch of gap between each strip so let's do the math really quick.
According to this site, the average counter-top depth is 25.5". To cover one inch of width of that with a 1" gap it would be 25.5" / (1"+1") = 12.27"
Our 15 foot tape then will roughly cover (15' x 12") / 12.27" = 14.67"
Lets round that down to 14.5" of counter space. So in order to cover 6 feet (width) of countertop you would need (6' x 12") / 14.5" = 4.96
or 5 rolls of that tape. Bringing your total cost to $41.25. I would make sure to only cover the places the cat will actually jump, and you could increase the gap to get more per roll if you wanted. Just adjust the formulas above to see how much you can get by with.
I used this stuff with my cat and she stopped doing it https://www.amazon.com/8oz-Extra-Strength-Chew-Repellant/dp/B01820DLJ6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1496343280&sr=8-1&keywords=cat+bitter+spray
I bought mine in July of this year off Amazon. As you can see in the description 3 C batteries. If I would have known beforehand, the trigger would not have been pulled!
I bought mine at Petco but i found this on amazon:
I don't think it's the exact one I had, but there are a bunch of similar products that do the same thing.
It's Pusheeen! There's different ones too. Like this cookie one.
That's pretty much all my christmas list is.
Have you tried or use a saftey razor? I cant recommend them enough! I used to think they were just for men but they are amazing and work so well. The blades are so freaking cheap you could change them out after every use if you wanted. http://www.maggardrazors.com/product/maggard-razors-mr18c-titanium-anodized-safety-razor/ this one is mine! http://www.amazon.com/Dorco-Stainless-Blades-100-Count-Dispenser/dp/B001DYQELG/ref=sr_1_3?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1441748988&sr=1-3&keywords=double+edge+razor+blades 100 for so freaking cheaps :3
