FireChat is a free peer-to-peer messaging app that works with or without Internet access or cellular data to send text and images.
FireChat sends messages directly between mobile devices using peer-to-peer Bluetooth and WiFi connections.
Every device acts as a relay, creating a mesh network amongst groups within proximity.
FireChat has been utilized by community organizers, emergency responders and private citizens to communicate when cut off from outside networks, including pro-democracy protests in Taiwan and Hong Kong, natural disasters in Ecuador and Kashmir, and off-the-grid events like Burning Man and Summit At Sea.

I used the word 'similar', how they came into power is not the question. What were their intentions? What did they do after being a dictatorial force.

You sound like the typical teenager who lives and feeds on facebook. Allow me to show you some facts my dear boy:

>Bjp is already the majority. And what threats are you talking about?
Post-Independence there were never such mutual communal rancor between people.

Of course, They are no idiots to do such a blatant thing that will unveil their mask.
>And the perpretrators are put behind bars, arent they? Does the govt shelter them? Provide them benefits? Of course not.
How many of them were put behind bars out of the total number of crimes that happened? Don't vaguely answer, give stats if you have.

Using your heads only like a thoughtless baby, incapable of critical thinking. Swallow whatever anyone says which apparently gives you relief from your own insecurity.

Telugu.
This paper delves deeper on how both the languages were influenced by Sanskrit and the commonalities between the two even though the people of the regions never mixed.
Some interesting factoid: In some villages within modern TN bordering AP, there exists a dialect of Telugu which was not influenced by Sanskrit and even people to this day speak it. To a modern Telugu speaker, it is hard to understand...I've heard it myself. People think it is Tamil mixed Telugu, but no, it is Telugu in its old pristine form.
This is fantastic!

I have been in the digital marketing sphere for more than 4 years now and I can 100% confirm that the course will teach you nothing more than what you can read up online. It'll be a gross waste of money, which you can instead put into finding unpaid/paid internship. Do this:
Together, this will give you a great insight into the field than any other course on digital marketing. Also, getting a certificate DOES NOT guarantee a job. You will still be hired as a fresher and that course will just put you ahead by a step or two, that's it.
Book recommendations- What are you guys reading these days?

[Next Billion Users](www.amazon.com/dp/0674983785/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_9MTT2K3N5C95FQ3PQB80) by Payal Arora
This book is primarily written for an audience that is not clued into how underrepresented , under privileged communities around the world actually use the Internet.
I’ve just started it, so far it’s been interesting.
What are you guys reading? Any recommendations?
Could you help me in choosing a laptop I'm planning to buy Asus Vivobook S15 with 8th gen i5 plus 125 gb ssd
Is there a better laptop around this budget? My needs are programming and bit of video editing and gaming
I use the "Avoid Roads" feature and the "Intermediate destination" feature for that. I sometimes add 2+ intermediate destinations to avoid a certain road.

Preventing Torrent clients, freely licensed apps like VLC, browser extensions, they decide what a user should/shouldn't do. Recommending Apple goods to people is a vendor-lock and hinder freedom.
> Android
Android is going the same route now. They're trying to prevent non-play store apps from being installed now.
The good, ethical way would be devices where users have the freedom to do what they want to do. postmarketOS. We have it better on computers, but sadly missed the freedom on phone-space.
My friends made fun of me when I said, Clubhouse is the dumbest idea ever. I even posted that in some daily discussion thread a while back.
Anyways, reddit now has a voice group chat sort of feature. I've seen that implemented in r/India and has joined one of those. Apparently people were nice and decent and ready to help out others. The topic was related to career growth when I joined that chat.
Now related to the topic, I think Clubhouse is dead. Spotify also launched similar feature called Greenroom soon after Clubhouse became viral.
> There are plenty of good products coming from Kerala. See https://www.producthunt.com/@felix_josemon/collections/keralaproducthunt
These are apps, widgets, and webpages that like "one among the thousand". Are these the products of funded start ups in Kerala?
If yes, I have to say Kerala is in the stone age of start ups. I don't think these apps are popular and have the capacity to make money in the future. Most people develop better stuff in their free time.
In live in the west and tried to know about the start-ups in the country I live in. Nobody will fund an IT start up to make pretty ordinary apps like this. They will fund IT projects that can make money or help save money. For example, digitization of a process.
Here start-up doesn't mean pay somebody to do something and forget about it. They pay somebody to do something and they want that something to earn money for the investors and for the developer.
I didn't mean to throw mud on somebody but this start up sounds like a startup in a communist country. Engage people in doing something meaningless because we don't want people do be unemployed.
I have read this. It was pretty good. But it has been a few years now. There might be better ones around.
I do not know about the Malayalam translation. If there is something from a good bilingual writer like Jeyamohan, then it would be good I guess.

If you can read malayalam, the website http://kathakali.info/ and their android app : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vtm.kathakali are excellent resources. The app is quite basic, but you can easily listen to padams by various artists or read the literature of each story quite conveniently.
Book recommendations- What are you guys reading these days?
My recommendations 1) Loonshots by Safi Bahcall Started reading this week. Its about how to nurture ideas that might sound too crazy to implement now but could be essential in the long run
2) Antifragile by Nassim Nicholas Taleb I had read this a few years ago but I thought I’d revisit it because a lot of what Taleb says in the book just keeps presenting itself in our present world. The book is about disorder and how to design systems that thrive from stressors and shocks
Have you tried any apps? I just found this and it looks okayish.
This doesn't look too bad either. The website seem to have some character encoding issues for malayalam words though.
I agree learning Malayalam can be hard compared to some other languages since the standard dialect varies from the spoken one. And the spoken version varies from place to place.
The Chandy pythons have some funny sketches. I have listened to some of them and they are pretty good.

Ryzen 3000 series is 2 years old now.
4500u is the successor to 3500u.
The Ryzen 5 4500u has two extra cores (6 vs 4).
The manufacturer pre-defines how much of the installed system RAM is assigned to the Ryzen 5 3500u's graphics core. It is usually set to 2GB when 8GB or more is installed. That means if the laptop has 8GB of RAM, then Windows will only have access to 6GB of RAM.
The Ryzen 5 4500u allocates RAM to the Vega 6 graphics core as necessary. So if you are not playing a game, then more RAM will be available for Windows 10 use.
Also, 4500u uses less power compared to 3500u resulting in less heat generated and better battery life with higher performance.
The cheapest Ryzen 5500u I can think of, here

A small genus of the already-shaped family, including only 3 species, found in Europe, northwestern Africa and southern Asia, although three more African species have recently been attributed to it. You can distinguish vipers from snake and copperhead by color, shape of the head and pupils. These are medium sized snakes. Their head has a triangular shape, the pupils of the eyes are not round, but vertical.

Am assuming you don't want to stop ordering online completely, but want to get some control over the habit. Like not do it everyday, but just on the weekend or on Sundays.
Get an app-blocker for your mobile (Stay focused works for Android) and a website blocker for your desktop (Leechblock works for Chrome/Firefox).
Block the Zomato/Swiggy apps on your mobile and the websites swiggy.com/zomato.com on your desktop. You can set it up in such a way that they stay blocked for you Mon-Fri, and are only available Sat-Sun.
(You can also set it up so that you can open the apps in emergency situations, like when friends come over on a surprise visit. Don't overuse this 'temporary override' though, defeats the purpose of an app blocker.)
All this aside, the best way to control the addiction would be some kind of app-wise or website-wise spending/budget limits that you can set in your credit card or UPI account, or even within Swiggy/Zomato themselves, don't know if they have that facility though.

Secondly, for video editing, Display size is very important. It would be cheaper and better to buy a gaming laptop for 60k and then spend 30k in buying a 32inch 4k color accurate monitor rather than spending 90k for a laptop with perfect screen.
Ithu kurachu vaangikko.. You are spewing a lot of shit, calling people from a certain region ignorant..

Hope pottakinattile thavala syndrome of Travancore Christians change.
Your comment makes it sufficiently clear who the "Pottakenattile thavala" really is..
Your data is routed through their servers. Of course they're getting all your data. The only question is whether they're storing it or not.
If they're not saying they've a zero log policy, obviously they're collecting it.
If they're saying they've a no log policy, it's still possible that they're collecting it, but less likely.
If they're saying that and are being audited on a regular basis, it's very unlikely that they're collecting it.
If they're doing all the above stuff, and a raid by the authorities fail to come up with any user data, then I think it's safe to say they can be trusted. Happened once with ExpressVPN apparently, before they were acquired by their current owners.
So, to say VPNs don't collect your data would be wrong. But saying all VPNs collect data would also be wrong. Either way, it's still better than my own government snooping over my shoulders.
VPNs in the country should include all VPNs operating in the country. The regulations on social media platforms are applicable to Facebook and twitter, right. It’s probably gonna be the same in this case. Comply with the rules or stop all operations in India.
From NordVPN’s FAQ on China
> China has blocked many VPNs, and many providers don’t work there. However, there are some that can go around the Great Firewall undetected – NordVPN is one of them.
> But are VPN services legal in China? The short answer is “sort of.” Using a VPN connection in China has not been publicly declared illegal, but a lot of them are banned in the country, and the government threatens to ban all VPN services for good.
> Officially, the Chinese government has banned the use of VPNs not approved by the government (VPNs must provide the government with backdoor access to be approved, which renders them unsecure). However, this law applies to companies and corporations rather than individuals. Chinese citizens found creating or selling unapproved VPNs have received fines and prison sentences anywhere from three days to more than five years, but these are applied inconsistently.
> What about visitors who bring VPNs for China? Right now, it looks like you can use a VPN software while you’re visiting the country. However, that doesn’t mean you won’t run into any trouble if you have one. During random phone searches, the police may ask visitors to delete VPN apps on their phones. Some people entering the northwestern Xinjiang region have reported that authorities have installed surveillance apps on their phones.
Officially, the Chinese government has banned the use of VPNs not approved by the government (VPNs must provide the government with backdoor access to be approved, which renders them unsecure).
By the looks of it, this seems like the likely end result.

My book recommendation: The Almanack of Naval Ravikant.
It’s a book on wealth creation. Although it’s prescriptive (not my style) there are a lot of gems in it. They are mostly short snippets hence very easy to read. It’s designed in a way such that you can pick and choose the segments worth your time.

Clickjacking, also known as a UI redress attack, is a common hacking technique in which an attacker creates an invisible page or an HTML element that overlays the legitimate page. It’s meant to trick you into clicking on a particular button or an element on that page.

I think most of the folks here are not aware of the leetcode platform. Check this link to see the compensation that people get from the IT companies.

Very generous free tier + pay as you go model.

Depends on the service which you are using. We use Firestore, Cloud storage, functions, hosting, and analytics. Just launched today, dont know what it will cost us. But with more than 100 people playing right now, it still costs us less than 10 rs.
Disclaimer:- Here is my suggestion. I've not studied/worked in India after 12th, so I'm kind of out of the loop how the whole job market there works. You can choose this path if nothing else is working.
If you just want an IT job for pay, I would suggest taking CCNA. It's far away from programming in general. Since you already have hardware knowledge, this is going to make your resume stronger. If you want and can get it, Aim for a higher tier job (for a beginner) such as Network Engineer/Support/NOC/Net-OPs/Associate kind of role. Learn Linux along(get RHCSA if you have the cash).
If that's not going to happen, look for a lower level Data Centre technician role. I am assuming due to the higher number of graduates looking for programmer, InfoPark kind of role, this should have fewer competition.
Also, check out for learning. Personally haven't used, but heard good things about it.
This is the first result Google threw up, but I don't know the credibility of the source. But I have come across many such literature.
EU has pretty good regulation. In fact, 4 hours ago I was talking to a friend about this -- particularly on food. The stringent quality control is quite admirable. I thought you were talking in the context of India.
That is what a BJP supporter would say. Not surprised.
Kerala and Bengal have some similarities in their history but many differences too. Bengal welcomed Partition with violence, and has always been a place where political violence thrived. Communists employed it first and now TMC does. BJP is quickly catching up there.
In Kerala, Communists and RSS have a different history. A lot of it is described in this book https://www.amazon.in/Kannur-Inside-Bloodiest-Revenge-Politics/dp/0670090697/ by Ullekh, who was touring India with Modi in 2014 and written two books, War Room and Untold Vajpayee. No point in entering a debate on it in a Reddit thread.
The short answer is, in most of India, there is only one set of thugs - the right wing. The others are much weaker and therefore, there is little by way of retaliation though it happens occasionally. Violence by RW is a well-understood threat in most of India and in the absence of a viable counter threat, remains a matter of course not worth mentioning. And as the threat is real, fear ensures that everyone tows the line. A good example is Maharashtra. When BJP Sena alliance was on, everyone understood you do not start a fight. Now that Sena is separate and willing to physically and legally counter attack, BJP talks about political violence in MH.
UP has some parties capable of retaliation, but are keeping quiet due to fear of Yogi. Kerala is a place where there are multiple sets of thugs.

If you are too lazy to type. Here is a small survey I made.
I would be publishing the results as well. So that it may help someone else.
Thanks. I have just used an open-source library - DeOldify I have generated this video using a Cloud tool (a hosted Jupyter notebook instance with 12GB RAM) and it took more than an hour to render this 2.47 min clip.
I then tried to set it up on my machine with 16GB Ram, it was super slow as the library required NVIDIA graphics, but I have AMD. It took about 8 hours to render a 3-minute clip. Now I am trying to find a workaround for this GPU issue and then render more videos locally.
About rendering speed, see what the library says -
> ...resolution at which the color portion of the video is rendered. Lower > resolution will render faster, and colors also tend to look more > vibrant. Older and lower quality film in particular will generally > benefit by lowering the render factor

Also audio is ok in this one.
Few days ago someone linked Kuttanpillayude Sivarathri & Aabhaasam . I really wanted to watch both but audio was clipping. The mixing was poorly done. Even in the youtube clips, it is evident that sound mixing was done poorly.
