If yes, I have to say Kerala is in the stone age of start ups. I don't think these apps are popular and have the capacity to make money in the future. Most people develop better stuff in their free time.

In live in the west and tried to know about the start-ups in the country I live in. Nobody will fund an IT start up to make pretty ordinary apps like this. They will fund IT projects that can make money or help save money. For example, digitization of a process.

Here start-up doesn't mean pay somebody to do something and forget about it. They pay somebody to do something and they want that something to earn money for the investors and for the developer.

Clearly your English is way above the average 'manglish'. You should get into some sort of writing, technical or otherwise. Might I suggest transcription/closed-captioning jobs ? Example. I haven't done them myself, but apparently there are people doing these jobs. I also keep seeing youtube comments to 'plz add subtitles' under malayalam/hindi videos; you could contact the video creator and offer to transribe the work for them ?

Bought this book on Communism today. Sometimes I see people commenting about how communism is great, or capitalism is only great for the top 1%, and I seriously can't offer a counter argument as I myself don't understand what is Communism.

I had seen some of their laptops in Amazon. Totally outdated. I just checked and currently only one of them is avaialble on amazon. I mean literally ONE unit of laptop for sale, not one model. It seems reasonably priced at Rs18K, even though it has an outdated processor, it has full hd ips display, and is basically a netbook at 1kg weight and comes with ubuntu.

In my opinion, making things like laptops, mobiles etc are pretty hard with current level of competition and advancements made by other players. So, instead of releasing own brand, what governments can do is to make an announcement that "If a company makes a product of this much specs for this much price in India, then govt will buy 100000 units of it". To ensure logivity and quaality, there should be some extra testsing that it has to pass like dropping from 50cm height or something.

This gives confidence to investors, and many will try to compete and try to take it as a challenge as there is a garunteed buyer. Your data is routed through their servers. Of course they're getting all your data. The only question is whether they're storing it or not.

If they're not saying they've a zero log policy, obviously they're collecting it.

If they're saying they've a no log policy, it's still possible that they're collecting it, but less likely.

If they're saying that and are being audited on a regular basis, it's very unlikely that they're collecting it.

If they're doing all the above stuff, and a raid by the authorities fail to come up with any user data, then I think it's safe to say they can be trusted. Happened once with ExpressVPN apparently, before they were acquired by their current owners.

So, to say VPNs don't collect your data would be wrong. But saying all VPNs collect data would also be wrong. Either way, it's still better than my own government snooping over my shoulders.

VPNs in the country should include all VPNs operating in the country. The regulations on social media platforms are applicable to Facebook and twitter, right. It’s probably gonna be the same in this case. Comply with the rules or stop all operations in India.
