Other than AnySoftKeyboard , you might try indic keyboard based on AOSP keyboard. join beta channel for latest update on play store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.smc.inputmethod.indic
That one doesn't (I use it currently), but Indic Keyboard does, only for English and Indic languages though.
They're both AOSP keyboard forks, so they look almost identical and pretty much like the old Google Keyboard.
I've been using this for some weeks now. It is an AOSP keyboard fork/implementation, very much like Gboard when it was still called Google Keyboard. Current Gboard feels really laggy after this.
Another AOSP one on Play is Indic Keyboard, which is as the name suggests for Indic languages and English. The main difference to Simple is that it has also text prediction/suggestions.
Indic Keyboard(Not from Google)
I am using Indic keyboard but it primarily meant for Indian languages. if you are looking for only English/Indian languages you can give a try.
The only other FOSS keyboard with word suggestions & prediction might be Indic Keyboard (despite its name, supports English). It is based on AOSP keyboard so looks very similar if you've ever used Google Keyboard/Gboard.

Gboard or Indic Keyboard (despite its name includes English)
Use this AOSP fork: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.smc.inputmethod.indic
Apparently you mean this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.smc.inputmethod.indic
I use സ്വതന്ത്ര മലയാളം Computing's Indic keyboard with ലിപ്യന്തരണം option for Malayalam. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.smc.inputmethod.indic. This mode uses Mozhi keymap. It is an open source project, https://github.com/smc/Indic-Keyboard
Try Indic Keyboard (not the Google version)?
Use this its free and open source.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.smc.inputmethod.indic
It supports multiple Indian languages, supports transiliteration, and is free and open source
For android peoples : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.smc.inputmethod.indic&hl=en
Its free software (the code is available on Gitlab/Github)
If you're English or Indic speaking and you want the good old AOSP keyboard, there's a listing on the Play Store and F-Droid:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.smc.inputmethod.indic
https://f-droid.org/en/packages/org.smc.inputmethod.indic/
It has its own dictionary and whatnot with full support for English, though it's intended for Indic languages. It's not regionalised though so you get both UK and US spelling suggestions.
However if someone could compile the AOSP Keyboard as a stand alone apk with all the base languages, that would be nice.
Edit: Not sure why this is getting down voted so much, I love the features Gboard offers and it's in my opinion the best Android Keyboard.
The AOSP Keyboard is also made by Google (as well as other contributors to AOSP), however the source code is publicly available. It's basically a stripped out version of Gboard (Gboard being derived from the AOSP keyboard originally).
I'm only posting this here to help anyone else out who is looking for a way to get this keyboard without root or having to flash a custom ROM. Straight out of AOSP, the keyboard includes dependencies so cannot be installed like you would for a simple stand alone apk.
