The Mayo Clinic has a nice summary of what to do.
Keep them still and stabilize the head/neck. The head should be aligned with the spine, facing forward. Don’t let the head flop around.
If they have a seizure do not try to open their mouth or hold their arms/legs in. Remove nearby objects and furniture so the victim doesn’t have anything to hit themselves against. Just let them do their thing, and time the seizure.
If they vomit log-roll them onto their left side so they don’t drown. Someone should be holding the head in alignment during the roll, while a volunteer or two repositions the body on the head-holder’s count.
Not necessarily. It's not proven to help prevent injury, curb muscle soreness after exercise, or improve your performance.

My brother and I had a similar issue with wrestling and getting hurt and not telling anyone (we both have ADHD, keep that in mind)- he broke my nose, etc.
One day my brother (11) was doing hand-stands on the arm of the couch- as he was hyper watching wresting; well one handstand turned into a back-flip and he flipped into the entertainment center (very similar- without the glass door, which had been removed a long time ago)- he hit the area without the t.v. on it- and I'm freaking out!
We had both been yelled at for waking up my dad- who worked nights and slept in the basement. And my brother is crying, and I'm trying to convince him that we should NOT wake dad up, he could move his arm and everything!
Eventually I wake up dad, and both go to the emergency room- whoops, my brother has broken his collar bone!
And that is the story on how CPS was called on my family (apparently the collar bone is a 'red flag' bone that's hard to break without it being deliberate. Combined with all of our other combined ER visits... yeah...)

4.9 Gs
I’m no physicist and these calculation are extremely rough
Assume he is 135lbs, doing 60rpm, he is revolving around a circle about 4ft wide, I used this calculator https://www.omnicalculator.com/physics/centrifugal-force Says it’s about 667.5 lbf 667.5/136 = 4.9 Gs If his head weighs about 11lbs, there would be a force of 54 lbs pushing against his head alone.
These calculations may be incorrect.
I'd suggest something simple and washable like this.

This book is pretty riveting stuff. Kind of a side by side comparison of Nazis and Communists during those years and makes it clear how much more efficient the Soviets were in contrast to the stereotype of German efficiency.
Like in Poland, where Nazis had a hard time actually killing the people they needed to kill and pretty much just grabbed anybody they could, especially the jews. Soviets collected information first and quietly executed soldiers, officers, intellectuals, and local leaders instead. They learned how to do it from years of experience doing the same domestically. They killed quite a few jews and non-Russians because, despite their ideology of bringing the world together, they were very nationalistic/paranoid when it came to key jobs and power.

I have never seen the movie "The Bucket List." I actually only even know this movie is a thing because of someone presenting the same rant to me a few months ago when I used the phrase then. The movie did not invent the phrase. In fact, the phrase seems to have experienced it's most recent resurgence in 2005, in which case people using the phrase much more likely spurred the writing of the movie and not the other way around.

They say it only 6 inches of flood Waters to create a drowning hazzard. You're seeing that in action here. From
https://weather.com/safety/floods/news/flash-flooding-vehicle-danger-20140717
"Just 6 inches of flowing water can knock you off your feet. If you slip and fall face first, you might drown before you come to. This is particularly dangerous situation for babies and small children.
Flowing at just 6 mph, water exerts the same force per unit area as air blowing at EF5 tornado wind speeds, according to Dr. Greg Forbes, severe weather expert for The Weather Channel. Water moving at 25 mph has the pressure equivalent of wind blowing at 790 mph, faster than the speed of sound."
While these technically fall under the category of "breeze blocks" it isn't really used as one. Breeze blocks are a little more decorative.
Cinder blocks get their name for what is (or was I'm not sure) used to make them. They had waste products from smelting in them, usually called clinker or cinder.
I use Relay for reddit and the inbuilt video player has speed controls.
It's also so much better than the official experience in many ways.

I know it seems counterintuitive but (and correct me if I’m wrong here) but I’m almost positive he probably should have gotten naked as soon as the fire was started. It takes a lot longer for that heat to penetrate the layers of wet clothing than just your naked body. Optimally he should have taken his clothes off, wrapped up in the thermal blanket and done some pushups or jumping jacks (to bring up core temp) while by the fire. Or sat with his knees to his chest? Not completely sure on what to do I just know that keeping those wet clothes on is a no-no.
I’m sure someone with a little more expertise could elaborate on this.

True, but a handheld light meter (that's seemingly capable of measuring quick flashes) costs $20 on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/URCERI-Illuminance-Handheld-Temperature-Measurer/dp/B075DC6X25/ (no affiliate link). If they show that their flash is equal or less than the actual traffic cameras then they have a pretty decent chance of getting off free. If a judge determined that flashes from a camera of same brightness of traffic cameras pose a safety hazard, it would create all manner of issues for traffic camera owners/operators.
There is a big difference between knowing something to be true, and seeing it with your own eyes. Also, widely held scientific theories being overturned in light of new experimentation is the heart of science. It's what makes it fundamentally different from religion.
In Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman!, written by the great Richard Feynman, he describes a sabbatical he took to Brazil to teach some students down there. They all knew scientific concepts and theories, but when he asked them why something was, they couldn't answer in any meaningful way besides that's what it says in the book.

Bullshit.
The line is there solely to get reaction videos of thieves being chased and hitting the end of that line.
As for a "funky" gearshift, you would not be liable because you did not create it; it came with the car. The carmaker may be held liable if the thief can show there's a foreseeable risk that the design of the gearshift can lead to an accident.

Most are set and forget, I got this one on Amazon a couple of years ago and I don't think I'll ever own a car now without one. It took a few minutes to setup and after that I only ever check it a couple times a year to make sure it's still recording.
When mounted it's behind my rear-view mirror, and small enough that I can't actually even see it when driving. That particular model has a clip on to the mount so you can take the camera off and on without having to remount to the windshield each time - I find this useful as I throw it in my pack when I'm hiking, and just clip it back on when I leave. This one draws power from the cigarette lighter so I fed the cable under the passenger side visor, down the door, and then under the floor mat. It's mostly invisible. There's a small internal battery so it keeps recording about 30 seconds after you shut the car off.
Knowing that if something happens I'll have a visual record of the incident that I can present to the police or my insurance agent brings peace of mind. I see it as no different than buying quality insurance - better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

The technical term is "aspiration," which basically means spitting out the air when pronouncing certain sounds (P/T/C(K)). P & B, T & D, C/K & G have the same mouth/tongue positions in English. The only way they differ is that you spit the air out when doing P/T/C(K) and you don’t when doing B/D/G (instead you let your throat vibrate). In American, we aspirate P/T/C(K) when those sounds start a word or start a stressed syllable (PoTado) but not at beginning of an UNstressed syllable (butter, water) or the last sound of a word. That’s why many Americans thought my Russian friend's name was Danya, not Tanya, and my Brazilian student got more & more frustrated when, after introducing himself as Paulo, kept being called Baulo. "NO! It's BBaulo! With a B!" Lol And that is why people love it when Arnold Schwarzenegger gets lines with lots of J's.

Here we have a video from the most selfish neighbor ever.
You can tell because he has the most obnoxious security system, illuminating and filming everything but his own property. Case in point: a 4 minute video of a bear on his neighbors' properties. He's filming his neighbors on their own property, and in their own homes.
Look at the shadows from that light pole, they go *straight* at other people's houses. This means that this twit has his security lights pointed directly at his neighbor's houses. DIRECTLY at them.
Starlight camera or not, this is a camera setup that says "I am a selfish dickhead MAGA 2020!" This is a guy who never even *considered* his neighbors.
I would absolutely destroy those lights and cameras. If anybody else has neighbors like this, pellet guns are legal to fire in most residential areas, and the [break-action ones](https://www.amazon.com/Umarex-Magnum-Barrel-Pellet-4x32mm/dp/B082X883VY) definitely have enough ooomph and accuracy to take out lights and cameras from 40-60 yards away. You don't have to hit the lens, you can shoot right through the body of the camera.
Another option is a snow broom. It's just a block of foam on an extendable pole, but it won't scratch paint. Brush is still better for windows, but this makes it super-easy to quickly clear several inches of snow on your car's roof and it collapses so you can stash it in your trunk.

The Snopes article that most people are using to dispute the Slate article merely states that it's unproven (the examples weren't cited properly). So maybe the Slate article was shoddy journalism, but that doesn't mean that it isn't plausible.
In fact, the Snopes article references a Quora thread that adds more confusion.
I think it's plausible that the phenomenon is true (at least in some instances). I also think it's not as common as the Slate article would have you believe. And I also don't think it makes China a bad place - every country has it's own version of this.

There's silicone caps, too. Just avoid the ones that look like a soda bottle topper on top of the can. Those suck so bad. Hard to get on and off and because you are creating a large extra space above the can your soda is constantly going in and out. Gets flat real quick and unpredictable pouring.
120 VAC can easily kill you if it goes through your heart. Lots of people have gotten a little shock where the current goes in and out of one hand, for example, and then get casual about it because it wasn't so bad. But if you grab the black wire in one hand and the white in the other, or say put keys in each side of the outlet and grab one with each hand, then there is a significant risk of death.
Electricity is no joke and I'm constantly horrified with how people treat it as such. To keep your kid safe, some of those outlet cover plugs could be good. Or if you own your home and want to do it right, get an electrician to install tamper resistant outlets. They make it harder to insert things that aren't power cords. GFCIs also help immensely with shock prevention. Normal breakers are mostly there to prevent fire and you can still get shocked, but a GFCI will trip a lot easier.
Anyway, all that to say continue being conscientious about it and don't brush it off as a non-issue because a couple people said so.

These are the two brands I have heard of. I think we got a random off brand one that's doing fine. I don't think it helps as much if you are one of those people who really swell up, but still makes it more tolerable.
Yea

Most are relatively small. Here’s the one I’m currently using if you can spare some room on an end table.

Road incidents are part of why I decided to order a /r/dashcam . More evidence for liability, and gives me a personal incentive to be a better driver and not lose my shit at people since it's recording me too. I personally ordered this one since it has a front and rear cam.
Now, if only Amazon would ship the damn thing already; it's already in the delivery window.
Does your pup take cosequin? Or a generic alternative? If not, order some and start giving it to your pup exactly as the instructions read. Within a few weeks, you will notice a huge difference in their activity level and everyday mobility.
Been giving it to my German Shepherds for the last 12 years, and I would never think twice about it. It really is an amazing thing watching them run and do zoomies like they were a young pup again!
EDIT: this is what I give my current GSD. Works amazing!
A quick google search yielded this
I have one of these and a larger version that I got second hand for a few bucks, they work but it feels weird putting glass directly on a burner.
