If you really like math, you could always wander off to Khan Academy and watch some videos/do some of the exercises. I have always been absolutely awful at math but KA really helped me out, and they cover all of the basics as well as some of the more complicated stuff.
I spend quite a bit of time online (who on Reddit doesn't?) so I know of some other educational sites that could help you out in some small way if Khan Academy doesn't, but I doubt you'll end up needing them. :) Good luck!
You're drowning in negative thoughts and self-hate, but there IS a book I've read that helped me with those same issues.
The GOOD book. Have you accepted Jesus Ch--nonono I'm just kidding.
There is a good book on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) that turned a lot of things around for me. Here's the link to it on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Feeling-Good-Handbook-David-Burns/dp/0452281326
You DO have it within you to become loveable, smart, successful, beautiful, and wanted. Definitely not all at once, and a lot of those aspects will need to begin inside of you. You need to love yourself before others will see how much there is to love you about you, too. You can do this. It takes work and commitment. Learning to love yourself when you've got a past as dark as yours, a past that didn't teach you HOW to love yourself, is a hard road to walk. I'm walking it still myself and I'm nowhere near the end, but I do know I'm better now than when I started, and tomorrow I'll be a little bit closer to the end of the road because I'm not done walking, I'm not giving up.
About the book: it's cheesy as fuck, and the author (if you see his picture) has a seriously disturbing abundance of forehead...but what he says about depression, and how it's primarily driven by our own negative thoughts, is just completely mind blowing. I understand the exercises may seem silly at first, but do them exactly as he says to do them and you may be surprised at how light you feel afterwards.
PM me if you feel you need any help with the book, or anything else. Hope things improve for you, stranger.

Real friends? There are 2 people i actually met in person off of Reddit. I don't remember if they came from needafriend or not.... but they became my best friend for like 2 years. Hung out with them in person a few times. sadly one I haven't heard from since last spring..the other not since last fall. Other than that...there's like 1 or 2 i still get private messages from that i had known through reddit a few years ago.
Is it worth it? well honestly I have no other choice when it comes to friends..here's my situation... I have 24% lung function. I don't have a drivers license. I can't really walk to any stores. i'm pretty much isolated. I am married but my husband is gone most of the time to work and college. I pretty much sit at my computer all day. None of my neighbors talk to me. I have no IRL friends around here that want to hang out with me. I've tried meetup.com, nextdoor.com and other sites to try to make friends but nothing has worked. I've tried other social media sites like FB and IG... none of those have really worked either..any friends i made from there... pretty much drifted away. So..yea.... i'm 35 years old..and i have no one except my husband.
Well the easy way is to start the text with an # but I also use Joey which has a bunch of formatting tools build in
Like this and ~~this~~ ^(and) >!this!<
You can make all sorts of things, it's especially useful on mobile because formatting text is a bit of chore
I was in your shoes 20+ years ago. This book helped me immensely
Kind of. They are making a series of animations that follow the game's storyline called Alice Otherlands, and started working on a full feature movie too. There still might be a game, but i'm really not sure about that.
Are you talking about this ifriend https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ifriend.app&hl=en&gl=US ? I've been thinking of getting it because I feel less anxious talking to virtual friends than real people

People don't know what your insecurities are so it is possible that it isn't personal.
How people are treating you aren't always a good reflection of who you are as a person.

Check out this book. I'm still reading it but I find it quite inspiring.
Hey I also love photography, though I'm still learning. https://unsplash.com/@josekbono

I also love IoT, I've done a bunch of projects on top of this idea, we could talk about that any time.

I'm 26, birthday was last sunday.

>She is angry at me all the time, which is understandable,
She has depression, she can't gain the motivational strength to be happy, supportive, or carefree.
Just don't tell her about your bullshit, it's like telling a dog with no legs that your big toe hurts.
She has depression, you can't fix her. You can only suggest to her to change her diet and get out and get some exercise.
Make sure she is getting yogurt, folic acid, fiber, and B and D vitamins and keeps the sugar and caffeine low.
Try to help her get and stay on a schedule of waking up and eating and sleeping at the same exact times everyday. Schedules are super important to maintain mental health.
This is all you can do.
Since she's home all day ask her to take this free online class maybe it will give her some insight into her neurochemical situation.
Also make sure she understands that the marriage is not the problem, obviously the guy is good to her and puts up with her bullshit, she's the problem, she has to fix herself.
Also you may suggest that she start taking Acetminophen once or twice a day and see if it alleviates her depression. Depression is caused by an inflammatory auto-immune response.
Make sure you take care of yourself, keep schedules, keep your diet clean, don't end up like her.

Hi there!
Another strang stranger, trying to somehow deal with this weird situation we are all currently in while everything seems to be the same when go out for walks, buy groceries, etc. nothing really is cause you are for e.g. working from home all the time, maybe only working 40 % of your normal time currently, etc. and spending more time doing things like gardening, which you thought you would to when you are retired. So I guess everybody is struggling in their own way somehow and wanted to pick up on this app again - https://www.superbetter.com/ to somehow get through it but I'd really like a buddy to come up with new challenges to get oneself out of the house, trying to find joy again in life.

There's not any places in south america really open right now. There's a lot more open than there was a month ago though. Not sure I'd recommend Ecuador though because they got hit pretty hard.
Indeed there is, we used Roll 20 when we played. You don't even need to go overboard with character stats and traits and whatnot right off the bat, we just went with a select bunch of skills and had the DM judge if you rolled high enough or not :P
Hey, dude!
I'm from latin america, and I've twice had scottish teachers! I really like the accent. I studied some Irish, too in duolingo - I know that scots and irish are pretty related right? linguistically? culturally? Both Celtic?
I used to be more into MMA in the past. I wish I knew more about wrestling - I like "The Rock" and I once had a game for Nintendo 64 I think that was about pro wrestling, and I really liked the characters and the gameplay. It is pro-wrestling you're talking about and not olimpic wrestling you're talking about?
You like graphic design? what's your opinion on canva.com? I took a course on computer graphics once and I really enjoyed it, but I haven't used photoshop in a long time now. Do you have art projects? Do you dabble in making cool stuff? Memes maybe also?
Hope you're doing well. Greetings from halfway across the world. :)
Do you speak Italian? Or tried to learn? I know you're only there for a while longer, but maybe try hiring a tutor- I think they have websites where you can get a group of people- you'd teach them English, and them Italian. That might help! http://www.italki.com might help?
Hey OP, thanks for being so generous with your time and so open to helping strangers. I would love to invite you to participate at https://www.confidist.com. I am networking to find like-minded people who see the intrinsic value of genuine human interaction with strangers. Kindly, Nicholas
Sorry to respond so awkwardly but I could not help but recommend these supplement blends to you since they have done such wonders for my family. I don’t sell them or anything I just try to share them with anyone I know who is suffering from joint issues. None of my family would be walking upright without these joint vitamins. Good luck finding friends!
There is in fact an excellent book like that: The Philosophy Book. Also, you could look up the introduction paragraph in the articles of the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy.
What do you draw? Would love to see some of your drawings. And you can actually watch Netflix with other using an app called rave party (I know the name is weird. They really should have used a different name) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wemesh.android
I actually did publish a book :) Its on amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Once-Upon-Wash-color-version/dp/1532899025 I am not sure where you read I wanted to have a book one day but I did actually get a book :) If you saw something out of date somewhere let me know.
Hi, so great to see you admitting all this. I have made this app which makes it easy to find new people around the world. You definitely would find love and kindness as well. Hope you like it :)
Burbur: A totally free app to meet people around the world. Wait before you think it's like any other app :) It's not. There are no bots here, and you can filter verified profiles for more credibility.
Filter profiles based on any Country, State, or City.
You can delete your entire data if you wish to delete the app.
The app is on play store and it's not any external app so you can trust :)

I really highly recommend reading Sex at Dawn . It’s a great book by anthropologists about human sexuality- please check it out. It really gets to the root of a lot of modern day relationship issues.
This might be something you enjoy then, I am still trying to figure poetry out. https://www.amazon.com/Arsenic-Flavored-Bubblegum-Erica-Michelle-ebook/dp/B073RS5YP2/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=
Also I have not seen raw, and do not have a Netflix subscription. I do have a subscription to VRV which gives me a subscription to Shudder. Where I watched 100 Bloody Acres. A very interesting Australian film based on a fertilizer business.
I've been writing since I was in 8th grade? (25 now). I go in and out. It's a good way to channel emotional energy, when going through tough times.
High fantasy and Sci fi? Any you care to mention? I'm currently reading Elon Musk by Ashlee Vance.
Wow, you have good taste. "Perfume" and "Veronika decides to die" both sound like fascinating books I might read sometime. Some of my favorite books are "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" and "The Hundred Secret Senses". I liked the 2013 movie Her, the Matrix Trilogy, and Groundhog Day.
Start by reading "The Richest Man in Babylon" - you can find a free PDF on Google.
Then start picking up flyers from your grocery store, searching for coupons and only buying things on sale.
Plan your meals a week ahead based on what's on sale. Buy extra of those things.
Google "extreme couponing Canada". Subscribe to subs on Reddit about "cheap meals" and "frugal" living, and subs like "financial independence" and "personal finance".
Start watching BNN and learning about investing/the stock market. Watch shows like "Princess" and "Til Debt Do Us Part". Maybe even check out Gale Van Oxlade's website.
Start learning about running an eBay store in case you ever find a really good deal for a lot of stuff you can sell.
Stop spending money on things that don't advance your position.
Prepare for dark times. Remain steadfast.
I can relate to you. I've been lonely a lot. I can't be your penpal, but I will give you a proactive task. You're 17 and summer's coming up. Stop gaming this summer and read some books to learn some skills that help you improve your conversation and social skills. Treat it like a video game and each time you finish a book and start using a new skill, count it as points and level up. Here are some I've found helpful.
"The Nerdist Way" by Chris Hardwick
"How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie
"The 5 Essential People Skills" by Dale Carnegie
"How to Stop Worrying and Influende People" by Dale Carnegie
"The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" by Dale Covey
"Poor Richard's Almanac" by Benjamin Franklin
"The Prophet" by Khalil Gibran
"How to Talk to Anyone" by Leil Lowndes
"The Prince" by Machiavelli
"Tao Te Ching" by Lau Tzu
"The Skinny on Willpower: How to Develop Self Discipline" by Jim Randel
"The Fifth Agreement" by Miguel Ruiz
"The Art of War" bu Sun Tzu
"The No Asshole Rule" by Robert Sutton
"George Washington's 110 Rules of Civility and Decent Behavior"
I'd say the first 8 are really important, and follow your curiosity through the rest. I know it sounds like a lot to get through, but it would be the most fruitful thing you ever do and shape the rest of your life. A lot of these books are free on Kindle. Take this summer to invest in your future and your happiness. Just don't go too far and become a blowhard that never stops talking and never listens to anyone. A good friend always looks for a chance to listen before a chance to talk.
I guess this probably didn't do much about the lonely you're feeling right now, but do understand that a stranger just spent 20 minutes looking through his Kindle to make this list and write you a message. Feel better.
Check out All the Shah's Men by Stephen Kinzer. It's an easy and compelling read which ought to raise many questions and spur further curiosity on the subject. If you get through that, try giving this gem a go. It's an easy read that give a sweeping overview of religious developments through the region. Many debatable points made by the author, but an easy starting point to branch out from.
I don't rant much on the topic. Generally the ranting people are oversimplifying matters and attempting to reconcile their personal bias with reality. Be attentive of the people willing to step back and question what they think they know about this diverse region.
Was reading Eric Kandel's In Search of Memory. It's a really engaging book. It is also surprisingly humble, and Kandel never misses an opportunity to credit the work of his predecessors & colleagues.
