AlternativeTo.net - For when you want to find an alternative to an any app. The database is massive, and you can filter by platform and license.
Product Hunt - Makers (mostly startups, but bigger names too) post their brand new products (mostly websites and apps) here. The community is mostly professional devs and designers, so everything is super polished. Great place to find incredibly useful apps.
Hey guys, If you are planning to book a trip anytime soon and are thinking of airbnbs - I can save you some time!
https://www.producthunt.com/posts/compairbnb
It is really simple - it scrapes all your open airbnb tabs and puts all the data into a nice simple table where you can compare them easily and pick your favourite. You can even add extra rows to put your own info in!
Compairbnb is the first thing I have made from scratch. I hope you like it and will continue to support it until Airbnb shuts it down!
The long term goal of this is to get Airbnb to be better. This is not a business. Compairbnb is a protest.
Hi all,
I built this app because every time I want to find something to watch on my TV, I spend hours trying to select a great option. I hate watching mediocre movies, so it takes me time to find a high-rated option.
The problem is that streaming services are dumping on me their entire collection. I don't need to see 1000 bad options, I just need 1 amazing movie or show. In addition, I need to search every streaming service separately.
So I built Watch Something! All you need to do is answer three simple questions (i) your streaming services (ii) Whether you would like to see a movie or a TV show (iii) Genres you are interested in, and THAT'S IT! Watch Something, will provide 3 great options!
I also added my app to Product Hunt - check it out
Yes, i'm calling a HUGE bullshit on this thread. Just blatant self-promotion.
Unless you can prove everything you're saying, your fake reddit account & your fake website should be banned from reddit.
Plus, you only outsource to fiverr. I'm sure of that. Prove me wrong. Please.
You know, what redditors value is honesty. We don't care that you've been starting for 2 days. Just don't come there with the "fake it till you do it" motto. It never works on reddit. We want facts.
There's already a chrome extension that does exactly this. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/recipe-filter/ahlcdjbkdaegmljnnncfnhiioiadakae?hl=en
Here's more : https://www.producthunt.com/alternatives/recipe-filter-for-chrome
From Tyler Winklevoss's answer on Product Hunt:
Gemini is a New York state limited liability trust company, we did not apply for or have a BitLicense which is a much lower standard. As a limited liability trust company we are a fiduciary, which allows us to accept both individual and institutional customers under New York Banking Law (unlike the BitLicense, which does not convey such fiduciary powers). In short, we can work with both Main Street and Wall Street.
Nicolas from ∆ Delta once again! After running a beta period for our desktop extension for Delta, we're glad to announce that 1.0 is ready & released! You can download it for free for Windows, Max & Linux via https://getdelta.io 👈🏼
Compared to our beta, it's now a 'signed' build, it has the Transfers feature as well as the completely new Markets section (under Watchlist). As mentioned, it's catered as a free extension to our mobile application, which is still our core & flagship product. But you can seamlessly sync your data between desktop & phone, without the need of creating an account!
It's also great to see we managed to get quite some upvotes on Product Hunt today. At time of writing we're #2 on Today's featured products. Getting to number 1 is probably going to be difficult, but if you really like what we do, feel free to upvote us via https://www.producthunt.com/posts/delta-for-desktop-2/. Every vote helps! :)
For us, it's back to our next iOS & Android update. It's due for release soon & will feature quite some new things our users will love. In the meanwhile, we'd love to hear your feedback about our desktop extension.
Cheers!
The Delta Team
∆
PS: Fun fact! Delta for Desktop already has our icons update. Via Settings > View Options you can switch to coloured icons. This is coming to our next mobile update as well.
Maybe so. But I think they're hoping you'll sign up for the 7-day $2.95 "trial" and then forget to cancel it before they charge you $25 for the next month. See reviews here! https://www.producthunt.com/posts/resume-io/reviews
Nice work. A friend of mine who works at Facebook shared your PH a couple years ago:
https://www.producthunt.com/posts/nanagram
I love the idea. My only fear is that this the last generations of Nanas who will want printed photos. Thoughts?
First, ask a ton of people, what may sound like a good idea to you may not be to others. Or even though you couldn’t find someone currently doing it others may be able to point them out, or point out why they’re not.
Then, set up a simple landing page, something like https://www.producthunt.com/ship could work. Send it around to a bunch of other people, post it to subreddits and Facebook groups, but the pro version of ship so it will get promoted within it, basically any way to get peoples eyes on it you can. This will allow you to get more feedback as well as early adopters for if/when you launch.
Then, see if you can build your app with a “codeless” app builder, I think the current best is https://bubble.is/. This will really only help you get out a MVP it probably won’t give you your finished production version.
If that doesn’t work for you, you can get a mock-up program like https://www.sketchapp.com/ and start designing all the pages for the app, this will allow you to work out all the features and potentially problem points. You can start doing low fidelity user testing to see if your app would work for them to accomplish what you think it should.
At this point you could take those mock ups and approach a development firm. Although even if you outsource out of country it’ll still probably cost quite a bit. Alternatively you could find a technical cofounder, just know that if you’re not bringing money, business skills, or tech skills to the table this dev will probably (deservingly) take a large chunk of the equity as they’d really be doing all the work.
That’s about as far as I can get you hopefully others will have advice for the next steps.
Edit: I’m also a React Native developer, I don’t have bandwidth to work on anything current but I can give advice on tech that’ll be needed and difficulty of implementation if you want to share more info!
I've been working on this little side project the past couple weekends. Any time I found a neat SVG for a web project online, there would always be some arbitrary amount of baked-in white space that I had to account for in my layout. This tool crops the SVG to just its contents. You can download the cropped file(s) or copy the markup to clipboard. That's really all there is to it.
Launched it on Product Hunt less than an hour ago!
Hello here is the project: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/bootstarters
I would greatly appreciate if you could leave your feedback directly on Product Hunt but please don't hesitate to write here with any questions if you prefer.
It's a collection of templates that will help you kick start most common Bootstrap projects.
It includes:
It also includes some experimental projects - design concepts built with Bootstrap 5 based on pages like Facebook, Twitter, Tripadvisor, YouTube etc.
Coming soon page ideas for additional templates - please let me know I would like to release a Bootstarters 2.0 version with more starters soon.
Argent did really well on the product hunt rankings today:
It’s neck and neck for the top spot. I’m just glad to see a crypto project that works and is easy to use out in the wild.
I’ve been working at a startup for the last year, and today we launched! https://www.producthunt.com/posts/replay-4
It’s a “time travelling debugger” so if you do things on the web you might find it helpful. And just like that, Wellington can lay claim to being the city that designed the best time travelling debugger. Admittedly the competitive field isn’t very big but hey :)
To celebrate todays launch of my app Keystroke Pro 2 I wanted to share a bunch of promo codes with Reddit. Grab them while you can! 🥳
And if you have another minute or so, your support on ProductHunt would mean the world to me 👏
Letz. A productivity chatbot that is nominated for Golden Kitty awards 2016. ( https://www.producthunt.com/@goldenkittymeow/collections/2016-bot-of-the-year ) It's funny and pretty interesting. Anyone using it?
Hi all!
We just launched a new feature on Dabble that lets you clip things from the real world. It’s pretty hilarious, try it out, and let me know what you think. You can take any photo and upload it in the Add Item panel - and we'll remove the background from it!
Also, we’ve launched on Product Hunt today and would love your support! We’re hosting a little design challenge where you can win $500 for designing your dream work-from-home sanctuary. Check out the details on Product Hunt! I believe you need to sign up for Product Hunt to upvote us but let me know if you run into any issues!
Here’s the link:https://www.producthunt.com/posts/dabble-3
Thanks folks!
SortEatOut is a chrome extension that helps find veg options on take-out menus. You can choose a “vegan” or “vegetarian” filter, open up a menu from a restaurant, and all the meals that match the chosen filter will get colored in green automatically. It currently supports only UberEats, but we’d love to add more options. Try it out and let us know what you think!
Here’s a link to our Chrome Store listing.
Here’s a link to our Product Hunt.
This is still a nights and weekends side project, would love feedback on how to make it more useful.
Thank you for your kind feedback! We are now also launching on Product Hunt - in case you’d like to support us, an upvote there would mean that more people see the tool and we’d get support to develop and improve features like that in future!
I decided to put this on Product Hunt :) - https://www.producthunt.com/posts/abcs-of-product-management

Upvote if you feel so inclined :)
Hey Reddit -
AI & Machine Learning can help massively scale dating in the workplace. After many years of hard work (on the side) I'm launching AntTinder today!
https://try.anteateranalytics.com/antinder/
AntTinder helps you find love in the workplace - See who is dating who in your team, and scale your workplace romances with AI. It’s built for Gmail and Slack.
Spread the news! our Twitter is @anttinder ;- ) If you're on Product Hunt you can participate in the discussion at https://www.producthunt.com/posts/anttinder
We love feedback and ideas for improvement - Let me know if you have any questions & Happy 1st of April!
Sorry that you didn't get the result you wanted. I've heard that ProductHunt has toughened up its algorithm last April, so now, it's very easy to get penalized.
I've launched twice on ProductHunt. One product ended #1 of the Day, another one #1 of the Month. Here's how I did it: https://twitter.com/StephNass/status/1411663585953128453
At the end of the day, I think that ProductHunt audience has really specific tastes: digital products, design stuff, collections, free products, productivity, etc. If you fit, it's gonna be a win.
Otherwise, even a great product won't succeed. Look at the Clubhouse launch for example: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/clubhouse
I like it! I think you could repurpose the way Toucan approaches learning another language. They're a chrome extension that replaces random words on a webpage with words from the language you want to learn, then you can hover it and see the english version to learn the word.
You could do something similar by replacing random words with synonyms. Then if the user marks that they want to learn that word more you could keep replacing any synonyms with that word as they browse.
It looks like they've been funded now and they're experimenting with monetization by allowing businesses to "sponsor" a word.
In a weird turn of events, this coincided with the release of "Generative Art in Go" on Product Hunt. For whatever it's worth, the book that you guys motivated me to write is (hopefully still) on the front page of PH!
Thanks for all the support during the writing and editing process! You rock!
Agreed, and to try to test that as quickly as possible.
Without getting users you haven't met before to try your products it's impossible to really test whether or not the product fits anywhere so optimising that CR from free rather than paid makes a difference.
It does depend what you're trying to test of course, at very early stages you might literally just be attempting to have anyone try it out to find out who might actually want it - it can be surprising when you find your market isn't the one you initially thought it was. Services like Product Hunt can be good for investigating the fit. (Yes, that is our current launch, apologies for the spam!)
Hey guys, Indie maker here, excited to be able to share this with you. Viso is a beautiful minimal image viewer for MacOS (a replacement for Preview).
Features a non intrusive UI that allows you to get the most viewing experience out of your images.
Viso launched on ProductHunt and ended up as No 3 product of the day - https://www.producthunt.com/posts/viso
Leave me any comments or questions. Here is also a 10% discount coupon for you great guys - 'RD-VISO-10'
Hello Reddit 👋! I built CodeSandbox, I recommend checking https://hackernoon.com/codesandbox-an-online-react-editor-b8945ce095d2 for more information.
We've also been hunted on ProductHunt today 😀.
I'm here to answer any questions.
Hello, this post is cross-posted from /r/macapps
The app website is : https://www.livescoreosx.com
Product hunt : https://www.producthunt.com/posts/livescore-osx
This is my first mac app. I created it because I find my menu bar underused and I love to keep an eye on what's happening when I am working.
This app is not free because I invest a lot of time crafting it. By rewarding an independent developer for his apps, you directly contribute to the efforts he will put making the next one.
Hope you will enjoy it ! :)
Julien Vallini
Completely agree. They've gone stale and both guys and girls are slowly losing interest. Personally, I think it's for 2 reasons —
Too many people are on them for an ego boost and don't actually want to meet up. This leads to fewer people using them that actually want to meet up and the cycle continues.
Conflicting branding. Half the people on Tinder think its a hookup app and half think its a relationship app. Tinder will never come out and say its a hookup app, and the founders of both Tinder and Bumble have publicly said they don't want them to even be dating apps, but rather apps to meet new people in general. This confuses the users and you end with people looking for different things. When you compromise like this, no one gets what they want.
Gonna take this as an opportunity to plug an app me and my buddy launched this past Friday called YouUp? We don't take ourselves as seriously as these "we believe in creating relationships" apps and we created it due to frustration with the factors I talked about above. We believe the direct branding of the app combined with an opt-out instead of opt-in functionality will make it so only those that want to actually meet up and have a casual fling will use our app.
Would love this community's feedback!
I'm on the fence as to if I am finished accumulating so it doesn't really benefit me to point out the not-existing-in-the-world-we-live-in-traits of augur. But yes it's probably going to be a unicorn (in my optimistic mind) and the only reason I would think it wouldn't be is bc gnosis is for some reason way better.
Anyway:
1) you can't bet on sports on Predict only politics. And with augur again it is anything, think about that for a while, let that settle, anything, that does not exist in the world, not in a worldwide decentralized way where anyone can participate and so a critical mass can be reached.
2) no need to download anything with augur
3) you really think predict has a great user interface lol? Anyway probably the great interfaces for augur will be the stuff built on top.
It runs on Ethereum. If you don't know about Ethereum it's like Bitcoin on steroids.
I'd recommend listening to Joey Krugs latest podcast.
https://www.producthunt.com/posts/blockchannel-4-joey-krug-thiel-fellow-augur-predicting-the-future
Good luck! And def don't throw money at anything in this space that you aren't ready to see go to zero potentially.
Hi everyone!
After many cups of coffee and many more hours of hard work, I launched my free Open source Chrome extension: BetterViewer
BetterViewer makes image viewing faster, easier, and more fun.
BetterViewer was designed as a replacement for the image viewing mode built into Chrome-based web browsers.
With BetterViewer you can use various keyboard shortcuts to quickly pan, zoom images, edit and a lot more!
Features:
📌 Product Hunt: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/betterviewer
📌 Chrome Web Store: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/betterviewer/llcpfkbjgkpmapiidpnohffjmmnhpmpb
📌 GitHub: https://github.com/Ademking/Betterviewer
Hi r/Nototo.
Many of you have been asking what we’ve been up to, and today we’re ready to showcase the world! Over the past 8 months, we’ve been heads down trying to design the ultimate worktool that we’d use for the rest of our lives.
Nototo 2.0 is a completely redesigned version of Nototo 1.0. The most notable thing is that we’ve removed terrains, objects, and the 3d aspect of Nototo. It was a hard decision, but ultimately those features were fundamentally limiting Nototo. The mechanics of creating terrrains with paintbrush, putting down objects, were too high friciton. Friction aside, another big problem was the problem of scalability. As a person’s Nototo world grows more and more, it became more and more difficult to manage.
However, the fundamental assumption of Nototo did not change. Which is a workspace that allows you to spatially organize all of your information, on one canvas. We believe the new aesthetics is much more appealing albeit a bit less game like.
We also just launched on Product Hunt: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/nototo-2
Would really appreciate an upvote there as well! :)
Hey guys!
I've been tweeting UI/UX tips for 50 days. It was a challenge. One of the rare cases when I was able to complete it :)
Then I thought, why not make a book out of it. People supported me, so I gave it a try. It's my first ever try to write something. There are a lot of pictures, not that much text. I tried to be succinct.
And it's completely free.
Now you may reasonably ask, why I'm asking your email O_O instead of giving a direct link. I'll be completely honest: I want to get some subscribers to my newsletter. I also write about interfaces weekly, and the more people I have, the more I get feedback, the more I'm motivated to write. I don't sell any ads here (for real), and I don't plan to monetize this.
Though some guys started asking for making a UI/UX review of their sites. That's cool, kind of a side project + additional practice.
Btw, I got #4 place on Product Hunt, and was happy like never :D
Anyway, I would appreciate if you check it out. If you don't want to receive the newsletter, click the link to unsubscribe in the first email you'll get with the book link :P
Woah this looks really cool, nice work!
Edit: Just found your game on Product Hunt, figured I'd drop the link here in case others want to support it too :)
>The whole thing is written in Rust, so it can cross-compile and works super fast!
Excited that it's out! https://www.producthunt.com/podcasts/serial-s2e1-dustwun
Not sure it'll be as gripping as S1, but I hope I'm wrong! Do you think he's a traitor? Do you think he should to jail for life?
I think those tips will help you
Hello! I make an app called goodbrief.io
It's a free tool to help designers come up with ideas for practice projects. I just launched a big update and wanted to share it with everyone. Version 3.0 adds a bunch of cool new features, including an all-new design, the ability to export your briefs for later, and dark mode!
I'd love to hear any feedback, feature requests, or bug reports! If you like it, I'd also appreciate some support on Product Hunt: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/goodbrief-3-0
So as an avid side-project-maker, I get tons of ideas throughout the day, but pretty much every note-taking app I've used shoves the "New note" button in some random corner of the screen, forces you think of a title before actually writing the note, and a bunch of other small but annoying things.
So I decided to build my own note-taking app with a completely unique user experience! You simply swipe down to create a new note, type type type, then swipe up on the note to save it!
I've been using it a lot the past few days just testing it out and wow, it's game-changing haha. Since it's so much easier (and more satisfying) to create a note, I've found myself documenting my thoughts a lot more!
Hope you all enjoy the app as much as I've enjoyed making it!
Would love to get your feedback here and on Product Hunt where I just launched!
Download links are available through Product Hunt 😄
I used Expo for super-fast dev and deployment, along with Reanimated 2.0 & RN Gesture Handler for the UI interactions and animations!
And ruin my anonymity? No thanks. I'm not a tech billionaire, it's a small lifestyle business that's pretty decent supplemental income. Check out communities like this or product sites like this, that kinda thing.
How does your image of the freemium model bypass the negatives I mentioned above?
Exactly, I think I will have to do the same with my next project – ProxyBin.
https://www.producthunt.com/posts/proxybin
I launched this for developers, but it looks like developers don't use such software often.
So I think I'll be searching for some industry that wants/needs my service.
I'll be writing about it on my twitter if you want to follow me @evexoio
Advertise it on ProductHunt. I'd encourage you to first poke around and understand the community a bit. In fact, you might have to build up a certain amount of 'points' (or whatever it's referred to) in order to submit your product.
Hey Everyone,
You may remember us from last year (though on a dif account cause I got locked out of my OG). Today, we're really excited to announce Coherence 5, a major update to our app that allows users to turn websites into applications. The update includes huge improvements to how apps interact with Google Chrome, and all new features like the Extension Manager, which allows use to easily add features to Coherence apps.

If you do grab a license, or even if you just like the concept, please up vote here and on Product Hunt.
Feel free to ask me and questions.
Hey! I actually launched my own product on Product Hunt yesterday and we've been sitting in the number one spot quite consistently since then. I agree with a lot of what you've posted but my one contention is with the media coverage. As much as I wholeheartedly agree that it'd be optimal to have it for the Product Hunt launch, I find that it's a lot easier to pitch the product once it has the 'credibility' of gaining traction on PH. Most of the journalists that would cover these industries tend to be familiar with the site and as such, are wary of posts looking for promotion (that said, I LOVE your tips and will be using them moving forward to try and garner some more media attention).
One thing that I learned through our launch was the value of genuinely soliciting feedback. My cofounder reached out directly to Ryan Hoover (the founder of product hunt) and asked him for feedback on our product before we launched. He liked it enough that he gave us a shout on his personal twitter page and posted on our PH post as well which was instrumental to our success. Don't ever underestimate the impact of a genuine request for feedback!
Our product is www.alcamy.org, a free, open learning platform. Think Wikipedia + Coursera + Reddit (Ryan actually came up with this tagline).
I posted some more details in r/sideproject if you'd like to read more: https://www.reddit.com/r/SideProject/comments/63cjke/alcamy_wikipedia_reddit_coursera_a_free_open/ but our acutal PH post can be found here: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/alcamy
Would seriously appreciate any feedback you have on our PH post (or the product itself)!
Guessing you're referring to this post?
I'd suggest that it's legitimately been upvoted - for whatever reason, people in the entrepreneur space seem to love curated lists of tools that they can use. If you take a look at Startup Stash, the #1 voted product on ProductHunt (link should take you ranked list of top products), then you can see it's almost 2,000 votes ahead of the nearest product (Pexels 2.0).
It's become a bit of a joke in the PH maker community - if you want to hit #1 for the day, just create a stash site. We've even had people post "make your own stash", or "Stash of stashes" sites.
My general thought behind it is that it's all driven by wantrepreneurs who want a magic bullet that's going to solve all their problems. So, for every negative comment about how bad it is to try and game Instagram, there's probably like 10 people seeing these tools and thinking it's going to rescue them from having to put in real work.
That said, I think the missing link is really showing people how to combine the tools that are available with real strategy/work to get results.
But you know, in the meantime if you wanna gain some easy upvotes on this sub, just write a post called "The 11 tools I use to crush my productivity every day" or "10 free stock photo sites", etc.
Exactly! At this time no. But I'm definitely open to it if a lot of people request!
Sitting at a desk is actually somewhat of a different beast on its own because the first point of posture failure is actually the low back which cascades to the upper back and finally the neck! There are some awesome apps for desktop though check out : https://www.producthunt.com/posts/better-posture
Product hunt has loads :)
If you're looking for a simple hack this is how I managed my posture at a desk
Ok, I'll bite. Our landing page for our new patent search engine can be found at Patent Monk
Looking forward to your critique, especially as we're changing it up in the next week now that we've launched on Product Hunt
Name: MyDone
URL: https://www.mydone.io
Location: Ukraine / Will be fully remote
Pitch: Future of work platform with digital headquarters.
Stage: Launched Alpha on ProductHunt - https://www.producthunt.com/posts/mydone
Looking for: Feedback on the product, hear your story.
More details - At MyDone, we're building a future of work platform that surfaces clarity and empowers everyone.
In this concept, anyone in the company can immediately see the big picture — how well each company's objective and key result is doing, and how individual work can drive the common goals. This clarity, transparency, and focus allow teams to collaborate with less friction and produce great results.
We are close to launching the Beta version in a couple of weeks. Alpha can be viewed on our website.
A lot of founders and makers struggle to build a Twitter audience. So I compiled these 100+ amazing tweets into a single swipe file so you can get inspired by top makers with a Twitter following.
It’s live on Product Hunt, get it for free right there (any support is appreciated!)
I’ll also be hanging out here all day if you have any questions!
Just FYI, the air quality right now, if exposed for 24hrs, is about the same as smoking 3/4 a pack of cigarettes. So, ya know, that’s not great, but plenty of people do that every day for decades. Panic is probably worse for you than the smoke, especially if you’re indoors.
Do what you can, stay inside, and you’ll be fine 👍
Happy to answer any questions about the process or libraries used! This is a bare RN app (not Expo), but it uses some Expo libraries like IAP.
The app was the ProductHunt #1 product of the day on Feb 21: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/familiar which was a cool experience.
The components you see are custom and not from a UI library. Let me know if anything looks intriguing and I’d love to open source some stuff!
Had to drop down into native for a couple GIF-specific things like copying and saving on iOS.
I used Fastlane and Codepush for deploys, and Sentry for error tracking.
The actual face swap model is not done on device — but I’m looking forward to experimenting with Tensorflow for React Native.
Thanks!
This is something I’ve been tinkering with for a while now, so I’m excited to be officially launching it! Basically, it’s a random generator for design briefs (the document with all the specifications for the design that a hypothetical client would give you). I’ve seen first-hand how hard it can be to build a portfolio and gain experience without a real client project. This is meant to help get started, as well as get some practice.
I’d love to hear some feedback, feature requests, or bug reports. I also just launched on Product Hunt, if you're into that.
Thanks!
I'd advise against using them. If you read the fine print of their coverage, it seems like it's nearly impossible to meet the criteria to have anything actually covered. I've read several blog posts where people recommend them, but none of them have actually filed a claim. The only other reviews I've been able to find of them are on Product Hunt, and all of them are obviously fake (written at the same time, by people who either work for them or are relatives. Seriously, one of the top reviews is from the founder's mom). Read for yourself: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/safety-wing
If you have a Product Hunt account and care to upvote the app update, here's the link: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/notability-8-0/ By the way, I work for Notability (Ginger Labs) - thanks for all the feedback and support!
I meant they added the thank you into the terms and service inside the app, not just on the download page.
https://www.producthunt.com/posts/shortly Product Hunt Requires you to File Taxes If you Profit.
Out of curiosity, why did you decide to start this venture? Did you see a need for this service, or was it more of a hobby? How do you plan on monetizing?
Personally, I think this is a terrific idea! I'm relocating to another city soon, and reading about the area and seeing pics gets old. I'd prefer to see short videos with narration.
IMO, for a product like this to catch on, it needs to be focused on a certain geographical location. I think you're doing this now within the UK. This could be your 'beta trial' to see if it catches on.
Also, I think this would be a great product to advertise on ProductHunt. I know you're still working on it, otherwise I would post it up there right now :)
Are you using any kind of content management system (CMS) to build the site? If you really want to focus on the business end of things, I'd recommend either outsourcing the development or just teaching yourself WordPress. I'm biased towards WordPress and absolutely love it.
I've never read the book "Will it fly?" by Pat Flynn, but this book is supposed to help the entrepreneur decide if their idea is worth pursuing.
EDIT: I think it would be nice if you limited the length of each video. People's attention span nowadays is ridiculously low. I know that I wouldn't want to watch at 10 minute video. I'd rather watch short clips (1 - 2 minutes) from different people.
Hello fellow redditers :)
I wanted to share with you my first project written in Vue: 🌚🌞.ws
It's an app to find events around you happening during the coming total solar eclipse in the US.
Hope you like it :)
It was also posted on ProductHunt: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/ws-defef322-dd6e-413c-82be-530f01f8b4dd
Wow - Polo is on the front page of Product Hunt (for those not familiar, it's sort of a front page of the internet for Tech/Startups, and typically crushes the products on the front page w/new traffic) - this is going to get nuts. https://www.producthunt.com/
Steve Jurvetson (SpaceX invester & board member) did an AMA a few days ago, not much SpaceX related, but does have a bit about Moon tourism: https://www.producthunt.com/live/steve-jurvetson (and no, he's not going on SpaceX's moon mission next year!)
The short answer is job search is broken, but there's a lot of people trying to fix it. Here's a few of them.
I have a couple of other general thoughts. First of all the jobs product space can be split into three: sites that offer jobs, sites that make the recruiter's process easier, and (your idea) sites that make the seeker's process easier. These are listed in order of marketability: it's easy to market a product if it has a good job feed, and it's relatively easy to persuade companies to invest in an HR/acquisition system. But informing job seekers there's an alternative to spreadsheets and whatever LinkedIn has is a harder sell (and more difficult still to get them to pay for it).
I would also suggest that maybe you need to change your process. What sort of jobs are you going for? If you are doing 20 applications a day, would it make more sense to decide which of those 20 is the best fit and then spend an hour or two on that application? Are you just booting a form letter and CV to all jobs you find?
The status thing you mentioned made me think of Trello - I think you might find that worth a go. (I use the free version for tech product planning, and I think it's great).
Hi everyone!
After many cups of coffee and many more hours of hard work, I launched my free Open source Chrome extension: BetterViewer

> There are plenty of good products coming from Kerala. See https://www.producthunt.com/@felix_josemon/collections/keralaproducthunt
These are apps, widgets, and webpages that like "one among the thousand". Are these the products of funded start ups in Kerala?
If yes, I have to say Kerala is in the stone age of start ups. I don't think these apps are popular and have the capacity to make money in the future. Most people develop better stuff in their free time.
In live in the west and tried to know about the start-ups in the country I live in. Nobody will fund an IT start up to make pretty ordinary apps like this. They will fund IT projects that can make money or help save money. For example, digitization of a process.
Here start-up doesn't mean pay somebody to do something and forget about it. They pay somebody to do something and they want that something to earn money for the investors and for the developer.
I didn't mean to throw mud on somebody but this start up sounds like a startup in a communist country. Engage people in doing something meaningless because we don't want people do be unemployed.
+1 to Framer Motion. The new Framer Web also allows you to prototype your interactions and animations visually before getting into the code.
We're pretty excited about some of the stuff inside there. Private Threads are meant to allow you to share with your family or an entire community. They are private, invite only, and fully decentralized using pubsub over IPFS.
We'll be expanding the beta to a bunch more people on Monday! https://www.producthunt.com/upcoming/textile-photos
Hey there,
I'm the developer of Portrait and hope you like it! Our photography app provides real-time, neural portrait filters ranging from double exposure, over color to blending effects. Our vision for Portrait was that creating stunning portraits and creatives would be as easy as taking a selfie. For more details, you can check out our blog post and a vote on ProductHunt would be great as well!
I'm looking forward to your feedback and questions!
https://www.producthunt.com/posts/hash-heroes
Saw that someone posted about Hash Heroes yesterday and now it's on Product Hunt. Makes me wonder if we'd benefit from trying to get "hunted". Would probably bring in a ton of players and at the very least get some good advertising.
I don't know the process for getting things on Product Hunt but happy to take the lead if anyone has any tips.

So you're saying that GPT-3 isn't good for SEO purposes because it lacks the factual knowledge, do I understand you correct? If you're talking about GPT-3 as in the default API provided by OpenAI then I agree. But the thing is that it was never trained to be good at SEO. And it was never trained to be a good copywriter with SEO knowledge for a specific topic either.
However, if you use enough factual correct information about a topic and fine-tune the AI and preferably train it how to write SEO optimized content.
As an example, I have trained GPT-3 for a very specific topic where there's no room for being almost correct. All this was done for a friend that work with this "topic". As a final test, I did a "quiz" with my friend (that have been working in this "area" for about 15 years). I gave them the same ten questions, the AI won with 10 to 8.
My point is that you're right, GPT-3 isn't very good at SEO out of the box. However, which OpenAI also writes in their paper about GPT-3, it's how you can "train" GPT-3 that's really cool. Actually, you can achieve more or less the same results using https://www.producthunt.com/posts/gpt-j (as an example).
With that said, it would be nice to hear more about your approach. And I can share more of what I'm up to. I'm a developer that do almost 50% SEO / CRO / SEM nowadays.
Perhaps we can learn a thing or two from each others approach. :-)
Going to post Minimalist Password Manager. It seems cool.

If anyone is interested in gamifying their life, along with a multiplayer experience you should check out this new companion app to Notion. I have been using it for about 3 months and it has genuinely changed the way I saw gamification for personal productivity. It helped me to get things done & it all felt like a game with popup notifications & all.
It can be used with any Notion database & the onboarding is super easy!
The recent addition & enhancement to the party quests is mind-blowing, you can do so much with this, [definitely check it out!](https://www.producthunt.com/posts/make-work-fun)

I am starting an experiment about how I build a product and launch it in 30 days with just HTML and CSS and would like to invite you to join me as I tweet my progress, challenges and results with full transparency on my actions and the reasoning behind them.
My craft is making HTML templates and recently I've launched my main project Inovatik.com as a Free resource for devs and makers on Product Hunt. It won 3rd product of the day . Quite successful for a project built with just HTML and CSS.
Now I want to channel my energy and focus on a paid product to support my dream of making a decent living from creating my own web products. It will be a paid HTML templates website focused on converting the value I can offer in $.
For this 30 days journey I am taking with me some marketing skills, good design abilities Photoshop and Illustrator, good HTML CSS and that's about it. Many of you already have these minimum coding skills or you are trying to find motivation to start learning. My experiment can inspire you to create something similar with the resources you already have available, in a short time span.
Also I would like to emphasize that HTML and CSS are quite easy to master and very few peers believe they can build a paid product just with them. They move quickly to JavaScript, get stuck and lose motivation.
During these 30 days I will tweet daily about my progress, challenges and the launch results. It will be exciting both for you and me. So if you are somewhat a beginner web dev, advanced FE dev or an aspiring product maker I invite you to follow me on Twitter @Inovatik to take part in the journey. This is Day 4 of my #launchin30HTML
First of all, I appreciate all of your comments 🤩 Means a lot to me to see that it actually helps so many Notioneers here 🧑🚀

Plating trees is great! But I believe it is the fundamental disconnect between personal well-being and the health of the environment that has lead to the climate crisis. Stumbled on an app that tries to re-connect the urban yuppie with the global implications of climate change. It relies heavily on tree planting. Check it out!
Get the Save to Notion extension for Chrome or Firefox. You can create templates for clipping webpages that automatically download images you specify.
Okay, my thoughts: 1. Drag and drop imported files into the timeline. That would be very intuitive. 2. Timeline layers work great and are really simple to manage. 3. Changing position of elements in the preview is so easy, it's great when compared to Premiere (I have always found it to be extra hard because you couldn't simply drag the elements unless I didn't know about something)
Well, there are not many features so I don't have many thoughts but everything that you have right now is working great. It's fun that you can focus on expanding the project now and adding new features. It's a great piece of software to quickly create a video to share with friends and family.
Try to share it here, maybe you'll get more supporters https://www.producthunt.com/
Cheers mate!
Hi everyone! My music discovery app, Discz (think Spotify meets Tinder) just launched today on Product Hunt!
I'm super new to the space but we've worked incredibly hard on this product, so any feedback or guidance with growth or product would be extremely appreciated.
Also highly recommend any music lovers or DJ's check it out - I built it for myself and a truly believe it's the best way to discovery new music and build a stacked playlist.
https://www.producthunt.com/posts/discz-music
Thanks everyone for the love, support, and feedback!
It's definitely one of the hardest parts, and always feels like a chicken and egg situation. Do you keep posting on socials, message boards, etc and just wait for that viral moment where by luck it gets picked up. Or bite the bullet and start building a paid acquisition model that you can keep improving over time - which is obviously hard if bootstrapping the product.
Some sites are more geared up for the journalists/tech blogs than others, so places like Product Hunt can be a useful platform, again though, there's still the 'luck' element involved. (Yes, that is a link to mine and my friend's current launch!)
While paid ads shouldn't be a complete test of whether you can acquire new customers, they can be useful for generating traffic that allows you to test the product and refine it so that it may organically pick up more traction where it wouldn't have before.
So Pomp wants to compete with Coinality.com, CryptoJobsList, Crypto.jobs, r/bitcoinjobs, and 20+ other companies that were here first?
Is this just bad research or does he bring something new to the space?
I wish you the best for your initiative. You should check out https://www.producthunt.com/posts/youtube-productivity-mode
It blurs the thumbnails when you're in productivity mode to reduce distraction. I'm the maker here and it has over 300 active users right now and I've got positive feedback from quite a few folks that the extension helps. I'd be happy to know if this helps you or if you have any feedback.
I'd say the most notable marketing movement recently has been their launch on Product Hunt. That's not to say this is all they're going to be doing -- I sense that with the launch of Nash Cash, more will be coming shortly.
In the Nash Cash announcement, they also alluded to the launch of Nash Pay sometime afterwards. There are a few things in the pipeline coming to fruition sometime soon, I'm looking forward to what comes next!
Hey guys, I shared my project Kaffae on /r/SideProject a year ago [post], which was well received. Since then, I kept working on it, and it has evolved. Recently the project's been hunted on Product Hunt by marketing evangelist Craig Deakin with a relative success.
Kaffae came out of feeling burned out from too much information. My thinking is that instead of cutting it all out, we can have mental well-beings and boost our long term memory with a bit of reflection.
Features:
Nice things I've heard from the users:
"Dude, thanks for creating Kaffae, I never realised how much I needed this haha! ...I also started noticing what kind of stuff do I want to read. I mean be more "picky" with that"
"I've read nearly 5000 articles with your attachment: it's very useful."
I'd love to hear thoughts from you guys again:)
Project: Kaffae

PS: As a result of Product Hunt, I've received 2 messages from the venture capitalist. Ask me questions about it if you're interested!

Hey guys, the creator here 👋
Today, I launched a useful developer tool that helps you to optimize and preview your app's copy and screenshots on the App Store without the need for publishing it live or any other design tool.
It is now live on Product Hunt 🚀: producthunt.com/posts/storepreviewer
I would love to hear your feedback!
🤔The Problem
Whenever I want to try out or publish a new app I encounter this one repeating and very annoying problem: There is no way for me to see how my app’s copy and screenshots will actually look like. On the App Store. In real life. On the device.
Playing around with various Sketch/Figma templates is nice for perhaps that one logo preview but iterating over multiple screenshot ideas is quite cumbersome and takes a lot of time. Not even thinking about doing it for multiple devices, dark and light mode as well as the list and detail view.
💭Thoughts
Optimizing your app’s copy and screenshots should be a creative, productive and most important fun process. You should be able to iterate fast and be efficient while finding the assets that fit you best.
🛠The Solution
A web app based on this premise. StorePreviewer is a useful developer tool that helps you preview your app on the App Store in the way it should be. Switch between different views and devices, try out various designs and find out what fits you best.

Thanks for all the support! AMA.
As people are filing into the room, there is a person handing out locked read-only data glasses (kind of like movie ushers handing out 3D glasses). Everyone in the presentation gets a perfect view of the "screens" with little worry about people filming confidential information. As people file out, ushers collect said glasses.
Or for private corp meetings, everyone already has their own company issue data glasses (like a company issued laptop).
Yikes - check out these product reviews:
https://www.producthunt.com/posts/moon-pod
Concerning example:
>IS NOT ZERO GRAVITY does not feel like floating just an overpriced beanbag chair
>Wow what a ripoff, this chair feels nothing like a float session which the advertisement said, it feels like a plain old bean bag chair. I notice you don't allow reviews on this page that should have been a major red flag to me, I am beyond unhappy with this purchase. what a overpriced piece of junk!!
It's a shame that a company would tout all the beneficial research of floating and slap that to their product. "Studies show floating does X, and our bean bag is just like floating so therefore you get X!"
>So we need more easy, simple and accesible tools, guides, websites to educate, inform and protect the liberty of the masses.
I read your entire post - but like you said most will not :)
>nobody reads ToS
This may be a bit off subject but I also don't read the entire ToS or Privacy Policy because it's just too long and confusing. I created a small tool, as part of a larger privacy project, to start moving the ball to fix some of these things - would be interested in your feedback if you find the time. https://www.producthunt.com/posts/policy-highlights
Awesome!
Will be building some more functionality into the website.
Thinking about a way for people to submit reasons, search on keywords and show the top ones always in main page.
For now I guess you could also upvote the producthunt page to get it some visibility https://www.producthunt.com/posts/stopusingfacebook-co
