ThatOnePrivacySite and Privacy Tools strongly recommend that you don't use any services, especially email or VPN, based in the US, UK, or the Five Eyes countries. A great resource for anyone interested.
Edit: check out the Privacy Tools page for recommendations on browsers and texting apps, those are very important too.
AlternativeTo.net - For when you want to find an alternative to an any app. The database is massive, and you can filter by platform and license.
Product Hunt - Makers (mostly startups, but bigger names too) post their brand new products (mostly websites and apps) here. The community is mostly professional devs and designers, so everything is super polished. Great place to find incredibly useful apps.
AlternativeTo.net is also really handy for finding programs that are like the one you don't want to pay for. It lists if they are free or shareware/limited, has likes by users, and some have reviews or comments.
One of my favorite menubar apps:
<strong>Caffeine</strong> is a tiny program that puts an icon in the right side of your menubar. Click it to prevent your Mac from automatically going to sleep, dimming the screen or starting screen savers
Hushmail is not trustworthy for numerous reasons.
The sites: https://www.privacytools.io/ and https://prism-break.org/ provide a better, more thought out, and verifiable privacy enhancing tools. You should really read them all over, understand why they made the choices they did, the pros and cons of each tool, before trying to create your own privacy guide. /r/Privacy is also a good place to ask questions and get feedback on privacy related tools.

Alternativeto.net is such a useful website. I find it useful if I'm moving between operating systems for example. And I need to find a Mac OS version of a Windows application, or an Android version of an iOS application.
I first thought this had to be some sort of mistake, then I read their official statement.
Apparently these guys have made it their goal to destroy the Open Source movement. Take a look at all the projects they have hijacked. Just imagine they replace all those (so far) legit installers with their own malware-bundled ones.
This is outright disgusting.
Edit: It looks like the modified installer has been removed. I really hope they'll release another statement addressing this major fuckup.
I've had the same problem with my Mac and had it checked out and they couldn't find any issues that would cause it to overheat. Installed smcFanControl and no longer have the overheating problem. Used to be hot to touch with minimal programs running. Brings down the temperature in a few minutes.
sl in terminal
If you don't have it, standard sudo apt-get install sl, pacman -s sl, or whatever your distro use.
Fun fact - there's couple locomotives included with different parameters, go and discover!
If you are sitting on Windows you can always look at gif.
E: I was proven mistaken, you actually can run it on Windows 10 and it takes like 5 minutes to get it done.
How to get it to run -
10: Settings->update&security -> for developers -> turn developer mode on
20: Control panel ->programs->programs and features ->turn windows features On or Off ->Tick the Windows Subsystems for Linux
30:win+r or win+s -> bash
40: wait till it gets downloaded, create the admin account, get the pc to reset.
now you can start it with 'bash' as before
50: sudo apt-get install sl
60: sl
Have fun.
e2: Also, if you are on Windows Insider Program you can get the SUSE instead of Ubuntu, if you so desire, by downloading OpenSUSE or SLES directly from the store instead of step 30 onwards.
The licensing is actually rather confused. The LICENSE file says MIT, but the code is actually a binary blob (compiled Java class files), not open source. That's... not incorrect, but strange. MIT does not forbid decompilation/reverse engineering, so not providing source is rather pointless.
Then he's providing an API to make and get the actual triggers that the SDK uses... but triggers are really just lists of positive and negative FFT bins (I decompiled the code) to trigger on. So there's nothing stopping anyone from making their own trigger audio and using the principle behind the code without the API and without paying for usage, unless the technology is patented.
This is confusing. If the intent is to provide a demo of the technology and charge for usage, why is it released under a license that allows decompilation and allows anyone to use it for free, and furthermore, why bill it as open source software licensed under the MIT license? If the intent is actually to release the technology for free for anyone to use, why is it a binary blob which requires an API and has concepts like trial quota built into it?
Edit: incidentally, the FFT implementation is this public-domain one, and the code that uses it has at least two random variable names in Spanish (but Google has no hits for them), which makes me wonder if OP really wrote it all or had someone else help.
Site is generally useless. https://alternativeto.net/ has existed for many years, has 100x the options, and is crowd sourced.
“Curated” lists are only better if crowd sourced options do not exist, or are of poor quality.
Hey guys, If you are planning to book a trip anytime soon and are thinking of airbnbs - I can save you some time!
https://www.producthunt.com/posts/compairbnb
It is really simple - it scrapes all your open airbnb tabs and puts all the data into a nice simple table where you can compare them easily and pick your favourite. You can even add extra rows to put your own info in!
Compairbnb is the first thing I have made from scratch. I hope you like it and will continue to support it until Airbnb shuts it down!
The long term goal of this is to get Airbnb to be better. This is not a business. Compairbnb is a protest.
>For experimental purposes, we inserted a vulnerability into this utility. To do so, we first copied fqzcomp from https://sourceforge.net/projects/fqzcomp/ and inserted a vulnerability into version 4.6 of its source code; a function that processes and compresses DNA reads individually, using a fixed-size buffer to store the compressed data

Instructions Below for Working Fix
I'm just starting out, trying to learn, and I'm learning quite a lot from Metasploitable. It's an intentionally vulnerable Linux server, which hosts two intentionally vulnerable web apps.
You can target the server itself, I experimented a bit with metasploit, but now I'm mainly focusing on the web app vulnerabilities.
Someone else a few months ago posted that in answer to someone else saying they found it hard to explain why 'I have nothing to hide' isn't the right answer.
>Over the last 16 months, as I've debated this issue around the world, every single time somebody has said to me, "I don't really worry about invasions of privacy because I don't have anything to hide." I always say the same thing to them. I get out a pen, I write down my email address. I say, "Here's my email address. What I want you to do when you get home is email me the passwords to all of your email accounts, not just the nice, respectable work one in your name, but all of them, because I want to be able to just troll through what it is you're doing online, read what I want to read and publish whatever I find interesting. After all, if you're not a bad person, if you're doing nothing wrong, you should have nothing to hide." Not a single person has taken me up on that offer. dynamic range compression? Windows has it as an option built in I think.
It was a while ago and can't check right now but I think I had some success using MPC-BE which has a similar function, so at least when watching movies it would compress the range (I had a PC hooked up to TV/Surround Sound)
Just one of the many reasons I use Murdoch Block. I have expunged that disgusting man and his toxic views from my life. If more people use tools like that advertisers will leave and that is one of the best ways to take his power away.
Youtube Comment Snob for Firefox is pretty nice.
>YouTube Comment Snob filters out undesirable comments from YouTube comment threads. You can choose to have any of the following rules mark a comment for removal: > >* More than # spelling mistakes: The number of mistakes is customizable, and the extension uses Firefox's built-in spell checker. >* All capital letters >* No capital letters >* Doesn't start with a capital letter >* Excessive punctuation (!!!! ????) >* Excessive capitalization >* Profanity
Groovesharker Here
If you use Grooveshark at parties, check out two amazing add-ons.
1) DjTxt. It sets up a party-wide collaborative playlist so anyone with a cell phone (and hopefully you aren't partying with people without cell phones) can add songs, skip songs, etc. And yes--there are safeguards against douchey behavior.
2) If you use Chrome, try Groovebud. Set up a big playlist, click on the little icon, and scan a QR code with your phone--then you can walk around your house using your phone as basically a big Grooveshark remote.
Both of these were made by awesome members of our community!
Ah, I see my extension, Open Reddit NSFW links in Incognito window, is famous once again.
Two things I want to point out:
The extension does NOT modify anything you post. So, if you have the extension installed and post a link to an Amazon product, the link will NOT have my referral code.
The extension does NOT modify links with a referral code. I don't want to take referrals away from other people, so I wrote the code so that it ONLY modifies "bare" links.
If you find the extension useful, it's a great way to support my development and show support. It doesn't take any effort on your part, nor does it cost you a thing. However, if you find the extension useful and still don't like it, you can disable the link conversion in the options.
There is quite a lot of free and open source flashcard software. The idea that multiple independent people would upload nuclear secrets on the online, information farming, flashcard platforms is just.. Ridiculous!
-uBlock Origin, mainosten estoon (mahdollista konfiguroida estämään mm. seuraimetkin)
-Privacy Badger, vaihtoehto seurainten estoon
-HTTPS Everywhere, pakottaa salatun yhteyden
-Decentraleyes, käyttäjää seuraavien 3. osapuolen jakeluverkkojen kiertämiseen
-Facebook/Google Container, sulkee kyseiset domainit omaan Firefox-containeriin, estäen kirjautuneen käyttäjän yhdistämisen muihin selaustietoihin (lienee tarpeeton, jos käyttää seurannan estoa erillisellä lisäosalla)
-NoScript/uMatrix edistyneemmälle käyttäjälle
Edit: tällä lisäksi hyviä vinkkejä Firefoxin muokkaamiseksi: https://www.privacytools.io/#about_config
You can also use /r/privacytoolsio's about:config tweaks if you're that concerned.
Cybersecurity is a lot like /r/Watches. It looks nice from outside the community but it's easy to get sucked in quick and you might go overkill if you don't check yourself.^^lol

Hi all,
I built this app because every time I want to find something to watch on my TV, I spend hours trying to select a great option. I hate watching mediocre movies, so it takes me time to find a high-rated option.
The problem is that streaming services are dumping on me their entire collection. I don't need to see 1000 bad options, I just need 1 amazing movie or show. In addition, I need to search every streaming service separately.
So I built Watch Something! All you need to do is answer three simple questions (i) your streaming services (ii) Whether you would like to see a movie or a TV show (iii) Genres you are interested in, and THAT'S IT! Watch Something, will provide 3 great options!
I also added my app to Product Hunt - check it out
I found this extension for Chrome
It does block you from playing games (or at least the one I play)
Well here is a link to it, so half the work is done for you.
Man, look at me linking all over the place. I am on fire today!
Until a better search engine for tech-support and forum content becomes available, you really need Personal Blocklist if you use Chrome.
This not only allows you to block these spammy content-farms from showing up in your search results, it actually demotes their Google rank for others.
It works great. The first time you search for something like this, you will have three pages of such garbage links, and it will take a bit of hunting to find which is the actual forum where it first appeared. Then just block all the others (a little button will appear next to each Google result), and next time you do a Google search for a tech-support problem, your search results will be vastly improved.
Chrome users, please make the world a better place for all of us. Use personal blocklist.
It is yet another step backwards in design. Any idea how to get a view that shows you new subscription videos as before? ie. I like to see new videos but I also want to be able to 'x' them off my list if I have seen them or if I am simply not interested. I notice there is a "subscriptions" list with "new videos" but it seems to remove them if you have clicked on a video (annoying because I might preview it to check then want to watch later without having to go find it in the subs tab) and it is also frankly terribly organised (not grouping the videos from the same subscriber simply ordering by date of upload).
Also seems the whole redesign is to monetise youtube more and have more ads for cat videos along with the suspiciously narrow design screaming MOBILE DEVICE. Still at least the ratings preview extension still works to have that reminder of when youtube used to let you see a suggested video's rating before you click on some troll vid and give it more views, increasing it being wrongly, poorly, suggested.
All in all wtf youtube, yet again becoming an ever more over simplified mess.
TL;DR any part of the old way sub videos was organised remaining that I haven't noticed or is it as shit as I fear it is?
Edit Just noticed they also turned expand/shrink into two buttons instead of one...why? Who had issues with that? God damn stupid redesigns, they always fuck with things that don't need changing and leave the shit unaltered. /rant
Just to add on to this great post, privacytools.io has a nice list of recommended Firefox tweaks for privacy. There's other settings they link to as well for more detailed user.js files.
Those of us with ~~RES~~ just have to hover over the link text and the image pops up. Super easy. EDIT: It's not RES, it's Hover Zoom. Sorry! (Need more coffee!)
Shoutout to Keepass, free and open source password manager. None of this "first three months for free" bullshit.
I'll second the AnyDesk recommendation. It works great, lightweight, free for personal use, and hits all your requirements. Also, here's a good resource I like to use to find alternatives to software.
Hi all!
The app comes after getting my inbox filled with requests for a Warp Prism mobile version. So, here it is:
Warp Prism Mobile 1.0
Swipe left / right to change streams
Swipe up / down to change channels
Fully synchronized with all streams with the base site.
On Android phones with Flash compatibility
Random use cases specified in emails:
Watch at work
Watch on the bus
Watch while walking
Watch on the toilet
For Dreamhack, there will be a special channel ready for this weekend. This means you will be able to watch the big tourney this weekend on your phone! For any bugs / feature requests, the new Warp Prism forums (http://forums.warpprism.com) are active for tracking.
.
All proceeds will go towards keeping the Warp Prism servers alive. Please let me know if you are broke (much like I was) and can't afford the app. (jakefrink05 - at - gmail.com) The more people that watch together, the more fun it becomes!
.
I will also be on chat within the window. Stop by, say hi. Let me know if any issues arise. Here's to watching SC2 everywhere!
cheers,
Jake
.
ALMOST forgot to mention: Warp Prism on Chrome App Store (if anyone has a chromebook / likes a one click shortcut): https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/hidokbkbdkjmlpfohbkmljfjlekmdaam?hl=en-US
.
NOTE: Make sure your Android supports Flash. You can check by going to App Market, searching for "Flash". If Adobe Flash Player 10 pops up in one of your listings, congratulations! You can run Warp Prism. Please let me know if you purchased the app and realized your phone does not have Flash at jakefrink05 -at- gmail.com
NOTE: Stream speeds will depend on the signal strength. If the stream takes a long time to load, check the quality of the signal.
NOTE: The server is under heavy load currently. I am in the process of doubling up the ram + processor power that will help greatly with load times. This should propagate in a few hours.
Thanks, sigh, yeah, I know about that one (though the Forefront one another user posted makes me scratch my head).
Chrome has this irritating habit of flagging all exe's that Google hasn't web-crawled yet as malicious, and I just switched the download URLs from Sourceforge to self-hosted about a day ago and even though I submitted the links Google hasn't stopped flagging it yet.
Reference (not me, but describes the problem and solution):
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9512919/getting-around-chromes-malicious-file-warning
For anyone worried, you can download from the Sourceforge page. You can confirm MD5 sums are identical:
Create a script that calls wget with all the appropriate mirroring options so all he needs to do is supply the URL. And even that can be prompted for.
Here are some other options: https://alternativeto.net/software/httrack/?license=opensource&platform=linux
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/modify-headers/ - Download.
Go to Web Developer -> Modify Headers then Put in "X-Forwarded-For" in the box that says "Header Name" and then put in "12.13.14.15" in the box to the right which says "Header Value". Once done make sure the far left box says "add" and proceed to click the "add" box on the right. Once this is the done all you have to do is click the enable all, so a green light appears next to the header you just entered and then click the smiley face looking thing top left.
Voila, you can now watch the video and a few other things like the Daily Show.
Tell the author to use the Add-on SDK
QUOTE: help ensure your add-on continues to work as new versions of Firefox are released.
Nobody is mentioning this solution. Not even Mozilla.
Uh, it IS compatible, you just have to disable the version-check when you install addons on betas and nightlies.
Edit: Or you could just install this addon that does it automatically.
Anyone interested in hardening their browser for privacy should take a look at the privacytools.io list for Firefox: https://www.privacytools.io/browsers/#addons
Addons I'm using: NoScript, HTTPS Everywhere, uBlock Origin, uMatrix, Nano Defender, Privacy Badget, Privacy Possum, Decentraleyes, Cookie AutoDelete. They also list tons of config options to tweak along with a couple open source JS templates aimed at privacy configuration. Librefox is a new version of Firefox which includes a lot of these tweaks, but you'll have more leeway with customization if you just use a stock Firefox install and implement only the changes you want.
Also look into pi.hole if you really want to get paranoid.
/r/privacytoolsio is another great privacy-oriented sub.
Install Stylish and add a new style for Reddit. Type this into the box -
@-moz-document domain("reddit.com") {
span[class="score unvoted"] { display: none; } }
See pic. This will hide the score until you up or downvote a post, then it will be revealed (hopefully).
EDIT : Using Firefox you can just cut/paste the above into 'userContent.css' (create the file and add it to your profile in the 'chrome' folder), no need to install Stylish just for one scrap of CSS.
Mines-perfect is what I was playing when I was going through my Minesweeper phase.
If I remember right, I think the best options from a masochistic sense are "lucky" and "Murphy's law" together. Both of these, as one of my friends would say, move the battleships. "Lucky" moves the battleships so that if you are required to guess then it makes sure you guess safely. "Murphy's law" moves the battleships so that if you are not required to guess but you do anyway, you land on a bomb.
Check out Decreased Productivity.

Ever since I installed AdBlock Plus, whenever I see a screen cap of this kind of thing, I wonder how I could have ever used the internet before.
The link I posted is for Firefox.
Fell for the same scam. For Christmas a number of years back my dad bought a cheap 64gig SD card on eBay. Found out we were scammed later when I tried to put movies on it and it didn't work. Used H2testw and confirmed it was actually a 4 gig. Actually returned it despite complaints by the seller.
One of the first extensions I looked for after installing version 4 is Movable Firefox Button. It replaces the word "firefox" in the orange button to just the logo. More sapce for my tabs.
I had been using Chrome for over a decade. Now I exclusively use Firefox for personal use. Check out privacytools.io for helpful settings and extensions to make your install more secure.
Get Modify headers
Tools -> Modify Headers
Action: Add
Name: X-Forwarded-For
Value: 12.13.14.15
save, enable and there you go.
If you use chrome, there are a couple of mods that should remove that kind of stuff on most sites:
There should be a few mods that do the same on firefox, but I cannot be of assistance here, as I am a chrome user.
Cheers.
Do you really, really believe privacy can be attained by disabling few settings at the user end? If you're not paying, you're the product.

Generated with IBM Word Cloud Generator (see http://www.softpedia.com/get/Office-tools/Other-Office-Tools/IBM-Word-Cloud-Generator.shtml), using all .c files in the current source. I combined all files using the following command:
find . -name "*.c" -exec cat >> ~/linuxsource_all {} \;
I attempted to generate it at 2560x1600 (for wallpaper use), but it apparently trims vertically.
Step 1: Delete IE shortcut from desktop, add Firefox shortcut
Step 2: Right click Firefox shortcut, properties, change icon to IE icon
Step 3: Rename shortcut to Internet Explorer
Step 4 (optional): Install MyFirefox theme for Firefox to make it look identical to IE.
I did this on my dad's computer 2 years ago. He is yet to notice. Before I did this, he point blank refused to use Firefox, saying it was 'confusing'. Once he thought it was IE, it suddenly became perfectly fine.
it's available for firefox, too
this is always a good resource to look at when setting up a new browser. you know, if you care about privacy.
Google is attempting to combat content farms. Users using Google Chrome can "vote" to have a site knocked down the ranks by downloading the Google Personal Blocklist. When you vote to have a site blocked from the results, that information is sent to google who then weighs it in with their score in addition to blocking the search engine results client side.
It seems to be working as my results have once again become more relevant and the blocked sites numbers drop every week.
As a creator of a build system let me offer some reasons why creating a DSL might make sense over raw Make.
Allow me to introduce you to Hover Zoom for Chrome. It lets you hover over a photo or even a photo link, as in this case, and see it. No, I'm not the dev. I just love it. That's all.
You can get rid of those, just download AdBlock Plus (FireFox). The Chrome version is here.
EDIT: Why are people downvoting this, I'm just trying to help him/her out. Since when is being nice a crime?
Here's from the horse's mouth:

> It is true that the KeePass website isn't available over HTTPS up to now. Moving the update information file to a HTTPS website is useless, if the KeePass website still uses HTTP. It only makes sense when HTTPS is used for both. Unfortunately, for various reasons using HTTPS currently is not possible, but I'm following this and will of course switch to HTTPS when it becomes possible. > > Much more important is verifying your download (which I'd recommend independent of where you download KeePass from). The binaries are digitally signed (Authenticode); you can check them using Windows Explorer by going 'Properties' -> tab 'Digital Signatures'.

(My opinion: Minor importance. I always download it from scratch anyway)
The shitty Sourceforge that was injecting malware was owned by "Slashdot Media" , which was owned by DHI/DICE.
BIZX bought Slashdot Media from DHI/DICE on January 28th 2016 - http://www.sdbj.com/news/2016/jan/28/slashdot-media-acquired-bizx-undisclosed-price/
And brought in new management which got rid of the malware on February 9th 2016 - https://sourceforge.net/blog/sourceforge-acquisition-and-future-plans/
Making such a change barely a week after taking over an organisation shows what their priorities are and should get them at least the benefit of doubt that they do wish to change things.
I see everyone recommending iPhone, but Apple's stubborn stance on not converting to USB-C for iPhone charging has me seriously considering converting to Android for my next phone.
Personally, having all my devices charge from the same cables would be a huge plus. Granted, not all adapters (i.e. the thing you plug into the wall) will have the strength to power the heavier consuming devices, but it seems like you would be able to get away with 1x 60W capable brick, and a 1-2 20W adapters, for when you want something more lightweight than the 60W brick.
Ultimately, it depends on what your budget and OS preferences are, but this list of PCs and this list of phones might be a good place to start, if you wanted to consider minimizing based on number of peripherals you would need.
Also, you list Apple Watch, but unless there's a specific reason for wanting a smart watch (e.g. you will actually use the heartrate/etc data it collects), it seems like adding that just adds another device to carry, not to mention charge and maintain.
The library that the developer used to make it (Valkyrie) is an open source project of his written in FreePascal.
IIRC, DoomRL was made to show off his library.
I cant say for sure but if you use FF anti-tracking + uBlock Origin + Privacy Badger you will have a good chance of blocking MOST tracking attempts. uBlock has some quite sophisticated filters which you can rely on without worrying about using extra targeted addons for cookies.
One thing to be careful about if your thinking about adding more addons is fingerprinting because the more unique your browser is compared to the majority of the FF population, the more chance you have of becoming uniquely identifiable but you probably already know this.
One last thing I can recommend is follow the Firefox: Privacy Related "about:config" Tweaks which works well and tightens the security and privacy of firefox further.
I have PIA but just read on this site: https://thatoneprivacysite.net/vpn-comparison-chart/ That PIA shows being under surveillance by the "Five Eyes" (Five countries -- Australia, Canada, NZ, UK and USA) so it may not be as private as you may think? This is more of a heads up than anything. I still have it but may move to another service recommended on the site below --
Very similar to Invisible hand, a chrome alternative. Priceblink
I would also like to mention that I have routinely done this sort of checking, and more times that not I find that it's cheaper on Amazon, whether by lower shipping costs, or just plain price.
> All BE is, is MPC with a skin.
Why even spread such lies like this when MPC-BE is open source and people can just check? MPC-BE has had more active development than MPC-HC for years.
/u/The-Choo-Choo-Shoe Please see here https://sourceforge.net/p/mpcbe/code/commit_browser instead of propaganda.
Please everyone, use Murdoch Block. It warns you before you give a page view to anything Murdoch and gives you the option to go back or carry on.
Linux desktop is really gotten good at being a daily driver for a while now.
If you have Firefox install the following addon, Modify Headers then:
1) Go to tools->modify headers
2) From the drop down box on the left select add
3) Then enter: "X-Forwarded-For" in the first input box without the quotation marks
4) Enter: "12.13.14.15" in the second input box without the quotation marks
5) Leave the last input box empty, and save the filter, and enable it
6) Click the 'Configuration' tab on the right then proceed to check the 'always on' button. Close the Modify Headers box and it should work.
Actually, use the Addon Compatibility Tester. It reports back bad addons to Firefox so devs know to fix the issue (and what caused it), and it's not bogged down with some extra stuff that NTT provides and no one uses.
There's already a chrome extension that does exactly this. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/recipe-filter/ahlcdjbkdaegmljnnncfnhiioiadakae?hl=en
Here's more : https://www.producthunt.com/alternatives/recipe-filter-for-chrome
It's seen as bad practice to use your phone for something that could've been done easier trough your computer. Of course it's your own call in the end, but people will point it out/comment about it lots of time. Please use ShareX or an alternative to make taking screenshots a whole lot easier for you :D
Also, PrtSc
saves the images to your local WoT directory under the folder "screenshots".
Since you obviously have a tier x I'm sure you know it, but then again I also spent 2 years playing this game without knowing I could hold RMB
to lock my turret in place. Telling never hurts ヽ༼ຈل͜ຈ༽ノ
Have you tried the NoSquint extension for firefox?
I use it to zoom just the text and it seems to be pretty smooth at very large sizes. Reflows the content as well.
It's great because it allows you to select individual zoom levels for each website. So those that work better with text zoom can be set for that, those that don't are set to whole page zoom. Very convenient.
Who the fuck goes to Youtube from reddit?
Also, if you needed to click my link rather than hover over it to see the image, you're doing it wrong.
I believe I have the solution:
Lenovo released a BIOS upgrade, one of the issues addressed is 3Gb of memory showing, if more than that installed.
>[Problem fixes]
>- Fix an issue where an invalid password error is encountered when attempting to use a supervisor password as a current password while a user logons BIOS setup with a supervisor password.
>- Fix an issue where usable memory is displayed under 3GB on 64bit OS even 4GB or more memory installed.
>- Fix an issue that a USB device is not recognized by Windows connecting to the Alway On USB enabled port.
BIOS update utility and rough instructions
I would recommend the bootable CD if you have a disk drive and aren't familiar with updating a BIOS, also check the hash of the CD before you start (here is a md5 hash checking utility), very simple to check a hash, burn the CD and see if the hash matches a second burned CD, not 100% full proof but not bad considering Lenovo haven't given a hash to check against.
Enjoy your 12Gb :)
Edit: This will sound stupid but why are people down voting the accepted solution?
On Chrome, the Pomodoro Strict extension will block whatever sites you want for 25 minutes and then let you on them for 5 minutes at a time. It's worked well for me. Also, Reddit is blocked by default.
Some people consider Discord to be particularly bad spyware...
https://spyware.neocities.org/articles/discord.html
Personally, I wouldn't use it. I'd suggest using a website like www.privacytools.io to find safer, open-source software.
https://www.privacytools.io/software/im/
(The chat application mentioned on there called 'Riot' is probably the closest to Discord that you'll find.)
That said, convincing all your friends to change too is the hard part.
I'm surprised noone has mentioned Google Dictionary (by Google), which displays a word's definition upon double clicking it.
Shit title. It's not a virus, because it's not self-replicating. And this is very old news. This is Sourceforge's DevShare program, to which the Filezilla developers voluntarily opted-in. The developers receive a share of the revenue.
You can click a 'decline' button if you don't want the extra stuff, and you can also download a version of the installer without the extra junk bundled if you go directly to the Filezilla site.
Modify Headers Firefox Add-on https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/967
Add "X-Forwarded-For" and the IP address "12.13.14.15"
Click 'Start' in the control panel or in the Add-on bar.
Hi all!
The app comes after getting my inbox filled with requests for a Warp Prism mobile version. So, here it is:
Warp Prism Mobile 1.0
Swipe left / right to change streams
Swipe up / down to change channels
Fully synchronized with all streams with the base site.
Random use cases specified in emails:

For Dreamhack, there will be a special channel ready for this weekend. This means you will be able to watch the big tourney this weekend on your phone! For any bugs / feature requests, the new Warp Prism forums (http://forums.warpprism.com) are active for tracking.
.
All proceeds will go towards keeping the Warp Prism servers alive. Please let me know if you are broke (much like I was) and can't afford the app. (jakefrink05 - at - gmail.com). The more people that watch together, the more fun it becomes!
.
I will also be on chat within the window. Stop by, say hi. Let me know if any issues arise. Here's to watching gaming everywhere!
cheers,
Jake
For everyone using Chrome on Windows that is seeing a malicious download warning, see this comment I made here:
Here are the same files, with same MD5 sums, hosted on Sourceforge which won't generate the warning:
} else if (l > 2 && s[l - 2] == '/' && s[l - 1] == Star) { char t = s[l - 2];
s[l - 2] = 0; if (!checkrmall(s)) uremnode(args, node); s[l - 2] = t; }
strlen("/*")
== 2, seems like a pretty big oversight. I should probably fix that and send them a PR.
This is easy.
Step 1: Install Windows Enabler
Step 2: Uncheck the box regardless of whether it's greyed out.
Step 3: Continue.
Step 4: If it installs even when it's unchecked, sue Nero for installing software they didn't have permission to install.
Step 5: Profit.
From Tyler Winklevoss's answer on Product Hunt:
Gemini is a New York state limited liability trust company, we did not apply for or have a BitLicense which is a much lower standard. As a limited liability trust company we are a fiduciary, which allows us to accept both individual and institutional customers under New York Banking Law (unlike the BitLicense, which does not convey such fiduciary powers). In short, we can work with both Main Street and Wall Street.
Of course they are. Windows 10 is the ultimate surveillance tool (https). Best defense is still TOR and/or a VPN - see guide (https).
"Just Learned Javascript?": I call bullshit. some chrome webstore sleuthing Not your first extension by a long shot.
The code's Excellent, But no need to lie.
There's also the fork, FireICE, which uses a static list instead of checking potentially untrustworthy list provider every single time. When ICE schedules another batch of it's bullshit the extension gets updated. This way there's less need to worry about dynamic maliciousness/changes from the 4 xml list provider domains. https://addons.mozilla.org/da/firefox/addon/fireice/

Now send me $300
Integrating Enjin doesn't make you any special nor should it be any sort of selling point for the game because what matters is gameplay and what you have is generic as fuck, as someone mentioned this is a poor No Mans Sky built on a slow database.
300 players isn't enough to support an MMO you need thousands of people who actively pay and engage with the content because your hosting fees are going to bankrupt you.
If my opinion doesn't matter why the fuck are you here responding to every single post?
