A little off topic, but you can background play Netflix and Youtube with apps like this. Here's the download link from their website if anyone is interested.

Rave can do exactly this, however you're limited to what is available on the app and you would have to stream it, when it sounds like you're looking for something local which makes things harder.

I found this person the same question here, so you can try that one of those solutions, the basic idea is to setup a Miracast server and the devices play from it or you could setup something else like a DLNA server or you might be able to setup some sort of webserver on your RBpi and that plays videos over to your tablets.

I think the whole project went to crap recently Netflix started cracking down. There is a Kodi mod that has Netflix built in that should work for most devices. The Rave app is great as well! Can watch from multiple platforms on this one app. For example, videos you have on Google Drive, Netflix, YouTube videos, Amazon Prime, Vimeo, and a lot more. Love it. Highly Recommend!! Rave

There is an app called Rave (Android and IOS) it allows you to watch YouTube Netflix and other streaming Services (Vimeo) in sync and chat at the same time. If you are really passioned about it you can make it work. If don't have the money for buying Netflix take a look at the r/Piracy Wiki but be careful and try to stick to DDL and no Tortenring if you don't have a VPN and want to stay save.

Its pretty interesting. Rave app with Artificial Inteligence DJ platform where the AI creates Mashups from two different songs... Search too different songs from youtube and that AI creates 1music video out of them.
