> Dish soap messes this up because it lyses (breaks) the bonds that hold the oils, carbon, and iron together.
Modern dish soap isn't that bad. A quick wipe with a soapy sponge every now and then won't be the end of your cast iron. This obviously isn't the case if you're using some homemade lye soap, but the stuff you buy at the store will be fine.
That's said, I still only use hot water, salt, and chainmail on my cast iron.

Interesting book: Why There Are No Locks on the Bathroom Doors in the Hotel Louis XIV
And for those who don’t want to read the whole book, here is the explanation regarding shared bathrooms.
My, then 5yo daughter got one of these confiscated by airport security once in the UK.
There were tears for some time due to that. Quite what they feared she or anyone else would do with it I’m unsure...
This reminds me of a story that my old trucker neighbor told me once, probably 15 years ago now. He was sitting a stoplight in his truck just down the road and all of the sudden, a truck started blaring his air horn. Said it scared the shit out of him! He was looking around, thinking a truck maybe lost his brakes and was warning everyone in the intersection. Everyone was looking around.
And then he realized it was him. He used to keep a set of small hand weights like this in his truck. Somehow he stopped and the weights shifted, pressing the horn that was in the floorboard.
It has become apparent that people are uneducated about heat stroke.
The Mayo Clinic has information regarding this. Please do yourself a favor by understanding how to differentiate Causes and Risk Factors.

These bus drivers were trying to reduce their risk factor - which the female drivers were allowed to do.
If you read his book "On Writing", it becomes obvious why this is the case. He writes using a "what if" structure - "what if a car had a demon in it?", "what if a town was trapped under a giant dome", then from there he just...writes.
He typically doesn't have an end goal in mind, and just lets the story take him wherever it's going to go. Eventually he just has to wrap it up, so aliens did it, or it was the devil. The end.

If it's legal in your state, you can use a recording app for phone calls and/or turn on your video recorder on your phone when he's with you to capture audio at least.
I'd also take actual photos of every inch of the apartment when your stuff is out showing the condition you're leaving it in. Make sure you especially get all the plumbing areas, the holes where the bats got in, interiors of appliances (raise the stove top and photograph that if applicable). Good luck he's an asshole and I hope you shut him down.
Edit: This is a great, easy to use call recorder. If your state doesn't allow one-party recording, just state at the beginning of the call that you're recording it and then it should be legal I believe (since you've given them the opportunity to continue or hang up.)

So, no 'professional-grade tools that may not be available to the rest of the class', but what about something like Blender, which is completely free? Or would he then say that the 'rest of the class' doesn't have computer access?
Actual cables? Don't think I have anymore. Current printer is wireless and takes power via one of those AWG cords.

Depends on one parish to another depending on the parishioner (I think those are the right words), but sometimes they can own it for business as long as they don't use it personally. So if you Amish friend's neighbor had one, depending on the local rules, the neighbor could use it to help his friend, or your friend could borrow it and use it. Also, they might have to have steel tires.

If you want to be REALLY evil, buy these the next time you fly and put a few of them up around the airport.
Better yet, if you're flying with one or more other people, give each person a few of them and have a contest to see whose stickers (the ones that each person places) can trick the most people.
If you're going to be right, be right.
First: educate yourself on what a heat stroke is and it's causes.
Second: think before you speak
Third: since you're too stupid to function, I'll hold your hand and explain. One of the causes of heat stroke is the body's inability to sufficiently dissipate heat. Do you know what that word - dissipate - means? It means to get rid of. Normally the heat would transfer back into the environment or atmosphere. Your pants have trapped the heat. This means that heat is now still against your skin while your skin is trying to get rid of the additional heat inside your body. This is what causes the heat stroke - given that most of your body is covered and unable to be properly cooled.
Fuck man if you're going to have a superiority complex, DON'T BE A DUMBASS. Intelligence is clearly none of your concern.

Learn the difference between causes and risk factors before you start trying to treat others like idiots.
Dear internet friend,

I'm going to try not to sound persnickety, and I suspect I'll fail miserably, but let us consider that the root of the reply you're responding too actually posted the definition of harassment. But, to refresh the difference between the two. I've placed the pertinent lines in bold and italics.

Harassment
noun
The act or an instance of harassing, or disturbing, pestering, or troubling repeatedly; persecution:

Assault
noun
A sudden, violent attack; onslaught: an assault on tradition.
Law: An unlawful physical attack upon another; an attempt or offer to do violence to another, with or without battery, as by holding a stone or club in a threatening manner.
Military. the stage of close combat in an attack.

In this case, the fellow was definitely harassing the woman - General or not - for sex. Thus, sexual harassment. Correctly defining one does not weaken another! If one believes even for a moment this was not the man's intention, then - without an ounce of sarcasm - I'd suggest one takes a look around the library; There are several short, well written methods of reading a person's intent based on wording and body language. While certainly not infallible, I'd think someone constantly advancing themselves towards your hotel room while complimenting your figure (as well as questioning whether your significant other was close enough to interfere) would be clue enough. Not to mention the fact they persisted after being told not too. That's the important bit, you see. It's one thing to flirt, even heavily. It's entirely another matter to keep doing so when told not too.
No, it does not. None of that is a cause. Those are risk factors that increase likely hood of getting it, but they are not causes.
I cite the Mayo Clinic:

Here's what you do:
A trusty old vpn works wonders in these situations. Especially when the IT folks don't care to block a user's ability to install programs. But even then, the one I use, NordVPN, has a chrome extension if you have that obstacle.

Go buy yourself one of these. Nice and sleek like a Macbook, magnesium alloy and carbon fiber body, excellent build quality (it's a business laptop, so designed to last a while) backlit keyboard, SSD (not soldered down), plenty of RAM (not soldered either), really nice 1080p IPS display (optionally with touch), under $350. This is basically "solved".. you can get tiny ones at Amazon for less than the cost of a couple combo meals...
Alas.. we had an "Approved Vendor" that we were required to order through. I wound up having to pick one that was larger than a beefy hardcover book... had less functionality, AND we paid something like $160 for the privilege.... it was the least egregious available from the selection. It took like three weeks start to finish to get it, and it lasted about a month before I got sick of it taking up room, and just brought in a tiny one myself...

>It's not a coincidence that practically all of the most developed and prosperous countries worldwide happen to practice free market capitalism.
There is a fascinating book I'm reading called "The Shock Doctrine". It's about the methods from which a Free Market develops using antidemocratic means.
>We indulge in a significant amount of materialistic wealth that previous generations could not even fathom. Capitalism isn't a perfect economic system and all countries are a mixed economy of differing sorts, but there is a lot of consensus among economists that capitalism has generally enriched our living standards with the sheer amount of goods and services made available to most people.
Historical Materialism shows that Capitalism is just a stage in History that will be replaced by Socialism.
>Of course this is unlike countries that have historically practiced communism where poverty, starvation, and falling living standards are all too common. For example, consider when "Boris Yeltsin's faith in communism was shattered after a trip to a grocery store" (link) simply because of the significant variety of foods to choose from that we tend to take for granted.
Boris Yeltsin never had faith in Communism to begin with. This is like "disproving" evolution with Peanut-Butter. Having the "choice" of 47 brands of Cereal owned by 3 Mega-corporations doesn't make up for the fact that people starve in the street as we throw out bread because there is nobody to buy it.

Ok, straight from WebMD then: https://www.webmd.com/diet/caffeine-myths-and-facts#1
They don't specifically say it's more addictive then heroine, and they state that it's not as harmful, obviously, but it is still easy to get addicted to caffeine and no addiction is a good addiction.
I can tell you for a fact though, if my boss misses his morning coffee, we are all having a bad day. Anytime you need any substance in order to stay "normal" that's an addiction. If you "need" your coffee to wake up in the morning, it's an issue. If you like it and it just helps you some and you can make do with no noticeable changes to your personality, then it's not a big deal.
Granted, it's not very harmful, but it is in fact harmful if not used in moderation. Anything is really ok in moderation, the problem is there are a lot of people out there who do not use caffeine in moderation. I stated in my first post that it really depends on just how much coffee the OP is drinking per day, so if it's less than 3-4 cups a day, it's not an issue. If it's more than that though, all you need to do is not drink your coffee one day and you WILL feel the effects of withdrawal(I know I do if I don't get my Monsters). If you are feeling withdrawal, there is very little you can do to convince me it's not an addiction. Even if it's a mostly harmless addiction, it's still slightly harmful, so to say it's not causing harm to anyone is in fact false.
This is semantics, but mostly correct. You're probably going to get charged with passing a counterfeit bill rather than money laundering. The term "laundering" still applies in common use as one is exchanging the illegitimate funds in order to receive legitimate funds. This differentiates it just from using counterfeit money to make a purchase since the intent of the action isn't to pass counterfeit money for goods and services, but to pass the counterfeit money through a business in exchange for legitimate bills that will not draw scrutiny.
https://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/dictionary/english/money-laundering
The funny thing is that in modern French, garnir doesn't mean to warn anymore, only to furnish.
Even more specifically, there's a French idiom that uses "garnir" about a bank account and it means the account is well furnished.
The other meaning is completely gone in French.

>The most important things are the hardest to say. They are the things you get ashamed of, because words diminish them -- words shrink things that seemed limitless when they were in your head to no more than living size when they're brought out. But it's more than that, isn't it? The most important things lie too close to wherever your secret heart is buried, like landmarks to a treasure your enemies would love to steal away. And you may make revelations that cost you dearly only to have people look at you in a funny way, not understanding what you've said at all, or why you thought it was so important that you almost cried while you were saying it. That's the worst, I think. When the secret stays locked within not for want of a teller but for want of an understanding ear.

https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/diabetic-ketoacidosis/symptoms-causes/syc-20371551
The first sentence. "Diabetic ketoacidosis is a serious complication of diabetes that occurs when your body produces high levels of blood acids called ketones."
When you try to observe the keto diet, you are trying to raise your ketones in order to trigger weight loss. If your body doesn't produce insulin, you will end up with higher ketone levels in your blood because to get the energy your body would normally get by processing sugar with insulin, your body has to burn fat cells. So, if your body is already producing ketones in a neutral state (being fed carbohydrates) and then you try to increase your ketone production by eating the keto diet, you will likely end up with too many ketones. Ketones are acidic, which will cause the pH of your blood to drop and trigger diabetic ketoacidosis. This can be fatal, and if medical intervention isn't given within days, can cause at the minimum permanent tissue damage.
I'm not saying that everyone on keto needs to stop it. I'm not saying that type 2 diabetics may see success on keto since I don't know that. But I do know that for type 1 diabetics who are already producing ketones, triggering ketosis and putting greater stress on their body can be fatal, and unless OP made that distinction crystal clear on their posting of keto information to a diabetes supply website, that posting was irresponsible at best.
There are dozens of news articles about this topic, just Google "Higgs Boson comic Sans." However, what I assume you'll really want is a copy of the actual presentation used in the announcement. Here you go.

I am tempted to say that would be John Gruber, Markdown's 2004 creator, But it was decades earlier text terminals used similar formatting rules. Therefore it would be more fair to say that he agreed strongly with earlier less defined markup languages that used similar conventions.
Markdown's stated goal was to create a minimalistic text markup system that would still be human readable in a plain text editor; mostly for programming/technical uses where most people would be working with plain text rather than a browser/viewer. Combined with a ~~mostly~~ clearer definition of how this system is supposed to work, (^(Snudown inheriting Github-Flavor's bugs not withstanding)) resulted in widespread adoption.

One of my favorite books on the subject of buying vehicles is a 1996 book by Bob Elliston called What Car Dealers Won't Tell You: The Insider's Guide to Buying and Leasing a New or Used Car.
Although this book is obviously dated, it's chock full of great details on buying a vehicle, and you've dutifully (without knowing it or not) already followed the first rule, doing your homework ahead of time and knowing what you want before you walk in the front door.
Anyway, this is the first time I've recommended this book. A copy has set on my bookshelf for years, and I'll never stop telling people about it because it's a great book.

Some others have come to me during the day to awkwardly, and not-really-genuinely offer apologies. Once again though, I. Couldn't. Care. Less - I'm trying to work.
I don't think I'm unhinged, and there are times when I'm thankful of that, because I definitely feel like stabbing people at times like that. I've sent you an article so that you now, are hopefully a bit more aware of how disruptive you've been, and the damage you are doing, to me, and many, many others.
And you thought the best thing to do would be to interrupt me? And socially-awkwardly apologise? And talk about you, and your feelings? Nuh-uh, I'ma stab you. That's what'll happen.
You can't explain it because it's hard to explain something when you don't really understand it yourself.

You can purchase just the powder in huge jars from Amazon!
Buy 3 of these, and you'll only be short 1/10th of an ounce from a pound
I got it in kindergarten, 1966, they opted to let me skip the rest of the year because Mom had her teaching certificate and she homeschooled me to their standards [I could actually already read, but they made her put me through Dick and Jane to make it official]
I have an adjustable bed and sleep with raised due to gerd. I have a regular neck pillow, but it connects with a snap. It stays around my neck and supports all sides.

That would indeed be the perfect machine for me! However, 200 dollars is a bit out of my price range. 🥲
But I did do a bit of looking, and I found this one which appears to be a cheaper version of the powermatic.

Don't know if the link will work or not 😅 but it's only 80 dollars!
I have this one and it’s super simple to operate if you are looking to do filter tubes. The lever pushes down with very little effort. It is easy to maintain as well.
Nah, you don't need a lot of research, you just need somebody familiar with the subject to tell you what you're looking for. It's this type of cover, btw, so now you too know what to buy if somebody asks you about it: https://www.amazon.com/Safety-Cover-Toddler-Heart-Tafiti/dp/B081VB3P6Y/
There are keyless solutions to this problem that will prevent a low-functioning person from leaving the home but allow a high-functioning person to open the door. Ya ever been in a home with child locks on the cabinet or, hell, use a pill bottle? Same theory.

May I suggest planting a flower bed like the pride flag too? Pinterest have some lovely versions! And your curtains could easily be pride flags too. And the trash can could use some painting too… and why not the mailbox: https://www.amazon.com/Wamika-Rainbow-Magnetic-MailWraps-Standard/dp/B07QG9VVZ4
i remember having to ask for the carbon paper when using a credit card! OMG, i am OLD.
Geez, Amazon has everything!
You had to make sure you got the carbon paper or that it was shredded because back in ancient days that's how scammers stole credit card numbers. By getting them off of the carbon paper!
I've been wanting to switch my team to stick PCs for a while now. Well, debating between that and running DaaS infrastructure and zero clients at their desks.
you know, he could hide one of these garden gnomes in the garden in case 'someone' starts messing with them.
I know plenty about BPD, and the most relevant thing I know about it is that there are no medications that specifically treat it, as it is a personality disorder and not a mental illness. DBT is the gold standard of care for BPD, and if you're too arrogant to see a therapist you can self teach many of the foundational, evidence based BPD principles. Here's a great resource for you to take advantage of:

It's always amusing to see the blind spots people who base their personality around the idea that they're more intelligent than everyone else have about themselves. If you were as intelligent as you claim to be, you would seek out the appropriate, evidence based care.
This reminds me of when my office had a 10 personal items rule.. I had this Lego cup that I built on to make it one big many itemed item...
Autohotkey scripts can be compiled into an executable, and run on startup. My code did something like this. Every four minutes the script would move the mouse one pixel left, and) then one pixel back to the right.
> I have been using my own dash cam for the first few days until it doesn't stick to the windshield anymore due to non-permanent truck assignment. If there's a truck dash cam that doesn't require sticking to the windshield, I'm willing to get it.
I was without a car for many years, but often borrowed one (I would exchange rides to and from the airport for use of their car while they were on vacation). I used to use something similar to this which I stuck my dashcam to instead of a phone. It wasn't perfect, but it worked well enough for my needs!
