An early release of DXR will be available in an upcoming patch, near the Battlefield V Deluxe Edition release window. So, be sure you’re rigged up.

Edit: Updated with more specific timing.
I think you're going to want to retool that flag to protect your work, unless you have rights to use it. It's essentially identical to the Nazi cat flag from Maus.
Otherwise beautiful work.
After delaying the Airlifts blog without explanation, I’m waiting for a pretty damn good reason why DICE feels that 14 piecemeal fragments of two skins for only two default guns is somehow worth the $20 premium for Deluxe Edition.
And also why some people aren’t getting their Airlifts.
And also why DICE has vehemently refused to even explain the Airlifts since the announcement of BFV in March.
And also why they’re not appearing in any sort of synchronous pattern, ie I received the Blockade Runner pants twice this week.
And why the Deluxe Edition paratrooper sets are supposed to include face paints as indicated on the Origin website, but don’t. If that’s not false advertising, I don’t know what is.
Looking forward to a real good explanation as to why DICE shouldn’t be sued or outright crucified for such a misconstrued preorder bonus, /u/danmitre.
Source? Because the main BF site say's its the path to Dunkirk: https://www.battlefield.com/en-gb/news/article/the-10-most-exciting-moments-in-the-battlefield-5-reveal-trailer
> Creating this map and choosing this period of WW2 is a good example of our main Battlefield V ambition: letting you visit lesser known battlefields. The surroundings seen are based on events leading up to the evacuation of Dunkirk, in an era where German tank warfare reached its peak. Overall, it’s WW2 like you’ve never seen it before. However, it’s also a classic, all-out battlefield experience where infantry, tank, and planes clash. As you fight in the marshlands and dense vegetation surrounding the center piece – a partially destroyed Escaut Bridge – there’s a place for every playstyle. Will you go for the close-range assault style, locking down the path across the bridge? Or will you rule the skies as the pilot of a Spitfire and bring death from above to anything that moves? Your call.

Anyone interested in this subject should read the book Ordinary Men.
The nazis, from the rank and file who were just cogs in a machine to the sadists and murderers were all people like you or me. Trying to dehumanize them like some weird defect of history is dangerous and disingenuous.
I noticed BFV hack reporting requires you to go to origin, search the player using the add friend tool, then report from their profile. This is probably why so many PC hackers have gone unbanned.
I'd assume reports are only taken seriously when there are a multitude of complaints, which I do not see many people going through these hoops to report.

Here is a link to his profile, not suggesting you report him for cheating(in case thats against this subs rules), but this is how you do it.

Amazing book. Especially in the political climate today. People call everything a Nazi, when the real problem is people relinquishing their personal responsibility to say "no" to bad ideas regardless of who says them and the consequences.
I couldn't find any specific date but I found this about the premier:
"Play Battlefield™ V ten days before launch" ^1
And as "main" launch date is 20th, I came to conclusion that it's now 10th. But if you find anything more specific, please tell me so I can edit the comment above.
https://www.battlefield.com/news/article/ww2-as-you-have-never-seen-it-before-battlefield-5
The trailer actually portrays the Battle of France in 1940, which makes it even more absurd. None of the uniforms, vehicles, or weapons (except the Bren) fit that theme. I don't see what's the point of Dice hammering in that they want to show battles and scenarios of the war that haven't often been done before, if they can't artistically distinguish between the fall of France in 1940 and a steampunk Michael Bay Market Garden.
Possible
I have Premier, and probably have extra code(s), no idea how to retrieve them though.

Edit: found my link, I will post it after I ensure one of my friends gets to use it, check back in a few hours.
There you go boys, good luck!
~~Not yet, the closest thing i've found is that you have to go to the store on a browser:~~

but the try it first (open beta) ~~is broken and won't checkout.~~
edit: IT WORKS GOGOGO
honestly, when they announced customization, i was psyched. i know not every one here is a history nerd, but my first thoughts were of how fun it'll be to match your character's uniform to the historical setting of the map you're on, etc. there's a crazy variety of stuff they'll be pulling from--just take a flip through these pages:
i'm sure some of the shit available will be kind of goofy, but i bet most of it will be period-accurate clothing and camo and gear, researched and rendered with care by the history nerds at DICE. all the aesthetic stuff is secondary to gameplay for me anyway, but the fact that they're gonna drop us into a big WWII sandbox with the customization is a cool bonus for me with this game.
From the official Battlefield website here:
"This entire journey is called Tides of War – and it starts with your Company.
Customize Your Company – And See it Evolve over Time
The Company reflects you. It is your collection of customized soldiers, weapons, and vehicles developed and modified as you progress through the Battlefield V journey – and you can bring it to all multiplayer modes and the cooperative Combined Arms."
great to have confirmation on this. do you know how big it will be and if we can preload it ?
my friend has shit internet so it would be great if he could preload it and im not forced to download it and bring it to him on my usb stick :D
oh i just read it here:
https://www.battlefield.com/de-de/news/battlefield-5-open-beta-announcement
Going by that Grand Operations map leak yes, but they've refered to the Narvik map as Artic Fjord in their offical materials. See here
eg. >What Modes and Maps will the Closed Alpha Contain?
>If you get invited, you can tackle Conquest mode or the Grand Operation Fall of Norway. Taking place on the map Arctic Fjord, Fall of Norway lets you experience two of its in-game “days” and play two of the modes that the Grand Operation strings together: Airborne and Breakthrough.
A previous version of this article stated that Battlefield V Grand Operations would be available shortly after launch, based on development plans as of June 9, the date the story published. The article has been updated to reflect that Grand Operations will be playable at launch and as part of Tides of War.
https://www.battlefield.com/en-gb/news/battlefield-5-grand-operations-and-multiplayer-modes
Capture Point D gives your team an extra tank, and Capture Point G provides an extra plane. So a total of up to 12 vehicles on map; 3 tanks, 3 planes, and 6 squad call-ins (assuming the SQ limits apply across maps).

Considering that's literally what the developers/dice refer to it by, yes. Obviously it's not like your bullets are randomly flying all over the place. There's a method to its madness, sure. But there's still the chance that your shot might not land exactly where you're aiming, which is especially noticeable when aiming for a small hit box like the head. It's the type of feature that adds nothing to gameplay besides penalizing the player. The correct way is to have a predictable spread with increasing recoil. This means the longer you play with a weapon the better you can learn how to use it.

Simple solution: If you're not keen on the pre order bonuses (found here: https://www.battlefield.com/en-gb/news/article/all-you-need-to-know-pre-order-offers-editions-battlefield-5) you can wait until the release to see what North American servers are like.
If you pre-order the deluxe edition you can play 5 days earlier. If you sign up to their EA premium service you can play it I think 11 days early. There is a table on the origin webpage that details this stuff.
https://www.origin.com/aus/en-us/store/battlefield/battlefield-v/interstitial Check the middle of that page.
Lmao that is not El Alamein from bf1942
That's El Alamein for a different game... the actual map is much more larger and has more detail.
Please play bf1942 first
First, I did not buy the game.
Second, tons of places offer price adjustment refunds within a limited window of time (usually 7-30 days from your purchase)
https://lifehacker.com/all-the-stores-that-will-give-you-a-refund-if-a-price-d-1661273299
> Have you ever bought something and then noticed in the retailers next flyer that the item is now on sale? If you're a bargain shopper like me, you know it can be maddening. But fortunately many major retailers will happily offer you a price adjustment within a set period of time.
Believe it or not, making your customers feel like they've been screwed over generally isn't good for your business in the long run.
“WW2 as you have never seen it before” is how they marketed the game. The game is plenty authentic, but not realistic. Same as every single other Battlefield title.
https://www.battlefield.com/news/ww2-as-you-have-never-seen-it-before-battlefield-5
BFV has a number of different game modes. You can read about them in more detail here: https://www.battlefield.com/news/battlefield-5-grand-operations-and-multiplayer-modes
This doesn't seem promising...
"During the chapter, two game modes will be added to Battlefield V. A revamped Rush is one of them. Say goodbye to MCOM stations and hello to bombs as you take on this classic, only available during Lightning Strikes."
Don't just blindly listen to "whatever people are saying." Just see for yourself: https://www.battlefield.com/news/battlefield-5-play-with-premier
The answer is: Yes, you get to play the whole game with all the extras from the deluxe edition on the 9th of Nov.
From the Official Battlefield V Open Beta Announcement
> Pre-load load starts on September 3, at 8:00 UTC.
Yes, you can pre-load the beta, however, you won't be able to play until the 6th of September (4th if you have pre-ordered or have Origin/EA Access).
DICE has said themselves that it's Escaut. Read bullet point 9 on this post.
Market Garden will almost certainly be in the game but those battles didn't happen until 1944, they likely won't be in at launch.
The thumbsticks put a cap on just how precise you can be, and just how easily it is to maneuver your player character.
Sure there are console pros who would smash PC players on raw talent, but with an even amount of skill the tools provided by KB+M outclass a controller in almost everything except maybe flying.
Why else would the PS4 community look down on people who use devices such as the xim? Because it IS an advantage.

I think the forgotten hope: secret weapons mod covers that?
Or at least forgotten hope 1 itself?

Only drawback is while it has a huge variety of locales and unique armies, the mod is only played on one server on weekends despite still being active and unofficially continuing FH1 development

You didn't spend $70 for the deluxe edition. The upcharge for deluxe was $20. Barring the weapon skin, the cosmetic skins were known before the game released. If you bought it, believing that they were underwhelming, i dont know what to tell you.
Further, along with 5 sets of outfits, that - by the way, you cant get in the game, you also received:
Early Access to the game
Special assignments that - at a time when CC was broken, were very valuable
Several weapons in BF1 that only deluxe edition owners had.
You can read more of what was in the deluxe edition Here, in case you need a refresher.
> Why? It was never once advertised as a historically accurate game.
I feel like people have just forgotten why the backlash to the first trailer happened... They literally said constantly "Battlefield V will be an authentic World War II shooter". In this article they use the words "historically accurate" and "true World War II" experience. This is an article from DICE. Then the first trailer came, there was an uproar, and the rest is history.
I didn't get the deluxe. As I read the description here, it's 5 soldier skins (that only appear in airborne?) and airlifts. Airlifts are just shipments of weapon skins right? From other posts, those were just parts of weapon skins each time too.
I don't know if anyone has a link to images of the entire collection of stuff you get but that would be ideal. Just want to wrap my head around it.
also, it was on the website, again you just didn't read it. sorry.

Well, it's on the official blog: https://www.battlefield.com/news/this-is-battlefield-5-firestorm-and-pre-order
"Fight to be the last infantry squad standing of 64 players in 16 squads"
As outlined here on the Battlefield site;
https://puu.sh/BMzOR/3c5af96b71.png
So you'd get 1 additional Special Soldier Set, some "special assignments" and a few weapons to use in Battlefield 1 (in addition to all the Deluxe edition content).
Here's Battlefield V's grenades and thrown weapons coming at launch.
Grenades and Throwables
We've updated yesterday's Weapons, Vehicles, and Other Gear Coming with Battlefield V blog thanks to your feedback. Listen. React. Fuel our community!

Those two releases had mod support meaning groups of guys would get together and create whole new versions of the game. All free, all amazing.
Based off of the 1942 engine I played the following all the time.
Forgotten Hope (realism and way more content and maps) Desert Combat (modern warfare) Eve of Destruction (Vietnam) 1918 (ww1)
There was some drug running mod called like 1982 or something g that was pretty popular and something involving pirates and skeletons. I forget now. Different world.
All this stuff is still active. Forgotten Hope2 is based off of BF2 and they still develop content.
If the beta is not showing up in your game library, open the store page for BFV (https://www.origin.com/store/battlefield/battlefield-v) and click "Try it First".
If you're on PC you should download Origin and you can buy it on there. The game isn't shipping with physical discs for PC. My guess is best buy anticipated a physical PC release and fixed it.
Sorry, Origin Access Premier. https://www.origin.com/aus/en-us/store/origin-access/ea_play
Pay annually and you get access to BFV, Anthem, FIFA and all the game in the vault etc. In Australia BFV deluxe is $110. Origin Access Premier is $130 each year. I might as well pay $20 to play Anthem and other games.
Not really, when we were all being hearded for early pre-ordering we were told we would get:
Early access - but not as early as those with u play accounts.
5 of the 8 paratrooper sets ( later I think this became 6 as the firestorm ranger was added) - apart from a lot of these deluxe skins being reskinned for everyone else no problem here. That said we didnt get to see these skins till pretty much launch.
Special Assignments - these were great especially as the gave a cc boost during that calamity.
Immediate access to 5 BF1 weapons - reward in BF1 if you played it. It was good, quick way to get the Tommie gun.
20 weekly items with airlift - this is the bone of contention. The text says that we would receive "vital supplies" in the air lifts each containing "1 cosmetic item". Again we had no clarity until launch as to what these would be. People got real upset instead of it being whole weapon skins, we got drip fed 2 uninspiring weapon skin sets. Section by section. 1 pistol skin, a few patches and 1 outfit (blockade runner - which anyone can now buy)
I've gotten all of this from - https://www.battlefield.com/news/all-you-need-to-know-pre-order-offers-editions-battlefield-5
The truth is we went into this blind and that's what upset a lot of folk. Some want compensation to meet the extra expense, some have resigned themselves to their fates... well need to see the figures for the next BFs preorders to see if people have learned their lesson.
It's on their website - source here, see point #1
It was also showcased in their reveal trailer, the dossier they sent out to media, and the media conference call they held the night before the reveal event.

EA News (brief)
Full Update Log (pdf file)
https://www.battlefield.com/news/anti-cheat-in-battlefield-1

We are always developing new ways to detect players who prefer to circumvent the fair rules of the game, and we’re confident we will prevail. The Anti-Cheat teams here at DICE and EA are working hard every day to even out the playing field by removing cheaters from our games. We will not stop until the community is happy with the results.
As always, continue to give feedback via our social channels and the Battlefield forums. While we might not be able to directly respond, you can rest assured that these messages are being read and relayed to the team every day.
Sean Merson, Anti-Cheat Producer
The DICE Anti-Cheat Team
It’s not about the game being an MMORPG or role playing or anything like that. There are 4 classes of soldier/8 in total if you count the different variations, each class specializes in a role on the Battlefield. They were built from the ground up for that purpose. Here’s an excerpt from a post about Medics on the Battlefield website: “You need to be up close to heal and revive, so the easy-to-control, close-quarter SMG is the best choice when you can’t afford the distance of a sniper rifle or lots of time behind a machine gun. Create cover and obscure the enemy’s vision with the Smoke Grenade Launcher and use the opportunity to revive multiple downed friendlies.” You can find that here: https://www.battlefield.com/news/battlefield-5-medic-class-and-combat-roles That would be the intention of how the class is best used by the devs. You can use it anyway you like but you should to be ready to accept the limitations that have been designed to make that class most effective in its specific class role. I’ve played a lot of Battlefield and I’ve seen what a Medic can achieve if they are given the same weaponry as all the other classes. You main job when you choose Medic is keeping your team alive. That’s why it’s called Medic. When adding weapons to a class that can heal itself, we need to look at this objectively, there will be a certain degree of selfishness by players that want to use the ranged weapons to go on larger killstreaks, and only use their medpacks to keep themselves alive. Which would then limit the classes effectiveness in team play. This entire Battlefield game is centered around squad/team play. It would also limit your team because a Medic with 50 kills and 0 deaths will be much less likely to run out and revive in order to save their precious KD ratio. I’m not saying all Medic class users would do this but it would be more than noticeable for everybody.
That's not what it says.
>20 Weekly Items with Airlift: Receive vital supplies with 20 weekly Airlifts, each containing one customization item.
https://www.battlefield.com/news/all-you-need-to-know-pre-order-offers-editions-battlefield-5
The 20 weeks start when the entitlement is added to your account. This generally happens when the money is taken from your account for the pre-order/purchase OR the date you may have redeemed a code.
>And starting November 9 Origin Access subscribers will be able to invite their friends to join them on the battlefield for 10 full hours of combat. The Origin Access Friend Referral program** is a great way to let up to 4 of your buddies experience all the benefits of a Basic subscription, including the Battlefield V Play First Trial, and they won’t have to spend a penny.

I assume that means that it is available for the BF5 Early Access, but you never know with EA DICE^^
If you buy a NEW specialization, you’ll pay for it. Once you have a specialization, you can swap it for another already owned specialization for free. Respecing isn’t a currency sink, it’s pure progression. Pay once for new things.
If I recall, damn near everything gives Company Coin - daily missions, special assignments, Chapter missions, career rank up. I don’t know how it has been balanced in the live game, but in the beta there was PLENTY to go around.
That said, if you spend it frivolously, it will seem to go quickly. Buying skins instead of earning them, for example, can eat up CC quickly. But as far as progression is concerned, I don’t recall being in a place where I could have gotten a new gun or specialization, but had to wait to grind for it.
I doubt we will see purchasable “boosters”, as they have pledged again and again that there will be no crossover between real world money and CC.
Edit: check out the blog article on weapon specialization for more info.
From the Map blog
>"In this rural area, you’ll see shades of the Soissons map from Battlefield™ 1 or even Harvest Day from Battlefield™: Bad Company. The environments are beautiful, but don’t stare too long at the magnificent yellows of the canola fields – enemy tanks or snipers may pick you off."

There will be a ton of changes, tweaks and bug fix from the beta feedback.
Found the page I was thinking of: https://www.battlefield.com/news/all-you-need-to-know-pre-order-offers-editions-battlefield-5
You get the special assignments by either pre ordering or buying the deluxe edition, but it doesn't say anything about assignments coming with the standard edition without pre order.
Edit: Saw your edit. I control F'ed and read the page myself but didn't see that phrase or anything like it anywhere on there
Early Access to the Battlefield V Beta: Be one of the first to forge the frontlines as you test your playstyle and strategies in an ever-changing World War 2.
Paratrooper Outfit: Once Battlefield V launches, choose one of eight Special Soldier Sets available in the game to customize your troops.
Special Assignments: Earn rewards and get an edge over the competition when you complete Special Assignments.
Immediate Access to Five Battlefield 1 Weapons: Unlock five of the Great War’s most modern weapons for use in Battlefield 1, as you bridge the interwar period on the road to Battlefield V.
The consensus on what the "edge over the competition" is seems to be extra XP. Note there is no early access to the game unless you get the deluxe or ea access. https://www.battlefield.com/news/all-you-need-to-know-pre-order-offers-editions-battlefield-5
I really don't think the bridge was that big but fair enough.
For what it's worth though, DICE themselves have already said it's Escaut. Bullet point 9 on that post.

I think Breakthrough is gonna be the closest we can get to classic Rush gameplay.
Are you referring to the five weapons that are unlocked in BF1 if you preorder BFV? As far as anyone knows, those aren't necessarily going to be in BFV. I limited this list to weapons that are known to be in BFV.

So it does appear to be for multiplayer as well.
It wasn't though, which is probably the most troubling thing about the trailer to me: https://www.battlefield.com/news/article/ww2-as-you-have-never-seen-it-before-battlefield-5
The trailer actually portrays the Battle of France in 1940. Most people seem to be assuming that the trailer showed an alt-reality Operation Market Garden, which suggests just how off the mark the trailer was. None of the uniforms, vehicles, or weapons (except the Bren) fit that theme. I don't see what's the point of Dice hammering in that they want to show battles and scenarios of the war that haven't often been done before, if they can't artistically distinguish between the fall of France in 1940 and a steampunk Market Garden.
There’s one. Honestly just type in gaming headsets on Amazon, should pop up with a bunch of them. I got mine like five years ago when I knew I’d be living with roommates.
So you seem pretty new to all of this:
You'll get a 7 or 14 trail period through PS+ (dependent on the offer that they're running at the time) - This is technically free but one of those that will auto-renew at the end if you don't cancel.
If it auto-renews its about £6-£7 per month, however if you buy 12 months up front it's about half the price. Currently $39.99 on Amazon atm if in the US https://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Plus-Month-Membership-Digital/dp/B004RMK5QG
Thanks for noticing! I got it from amazon as a gift. Very cheap. Here’s the link if you’re interest https://www.amazon.com/LIEBIRDExtended-XXL-Gaming-Mouse-Pad/dp/B01LBFYKU8/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?keywords=world+map+mouse+pad&qid=1562552926&s=gateway&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1
For those who want an inflatable tank shell for yourself, its 10 bucks on Amazon. Its not an affiliate link. I make 0 bucks off this link. I just googled it.
This is some awesome shit that I am 100% down for! And there is definitely a market for it because there is already a crab royale https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.RobotSquid.KingOfCrabs&hl=en_GB
I know this is super old by now but I was experiencing huge packet loss against the bfv Austrailian servers (I live in NZ). I did some testing and found that the spark global gateway servers were dropping packets like crazy during peak hours.
To resolve this i fired up a little openvpn server on Google cloud ($500 free credit woo) in Sydney which allowed me to bypass that gateway and found the packet loss went away almost entirely.
Granted, i don't know all that much about networking (just enough to be dangerous) or even if my tests were valid (PingPlotter) but from what I could see my ping went up by about 2-3ms and my packet loss issue went away.
I've also heard good things about NordVPN but o went with the free option.
Well, good news is I have already made a mod for it. Bad news is it is kinda unstable, but if you play it and when it works it shows you the potential a game like that has. We are pretty authentic.
However, I am working on rebuilding the mod from scratch with more HD content, so it should look MUCH better than it does now.
You can check out my Battlefield: Korea mod here.
My late Grandfather was in the Korean War from 1950-53, and went there aat 18 years old at the start. So It is dedicated to his memory as well as all those who fought in the war on all ides and those affected by or lost their lives from it.
My Grandfather was part of the 75,000 man sea invasion of Inchon, so he saw some serious combat. About half as big as Normandy, just to give you some scale.
There's various sites, but the safest one I've found is ModDB. Here's a link to Back2Fronts. :)

You just click the download button and do the usual thing of putting the modded files in your "main" CoD 2 folder thingy.
the gun is only available for Origin Access Premier and Basic as well as EA Access.

Origin has a subscription service with a monthly $5 and $15 tier.
$5 gets you a 10-hour trial. $15 is like owning the full game as long as you stay subscribed.
>What if I want to cancel Origin Access before my membership ends?

>If you cancel your membership prior to your next monthly or annual billing date, you won't be charged for the following month or year. You'll be able to continue to play Vault games, use your discount and jump into any available Play First Trials (if you’re a Basic member) or brand new full games (if you’re a Premier member) until your membership expires.

>Please note there are no refunds for either monthly or yearly membership fees regardless of when you cancel.

Idk about the deluxe part, but yes you get unrestricted early access from the early date.
Edit: yeah it actually does say deluxe but I don’t think you would keep the deluxe version after your sub ends?
Same here, I had to resort to a weblink to the Origin store to get it to appear. Going to guess that I don't get early access too and have to open a ticket...
(weblink here incase you still need it: https://www.origin.com/can/en-us/store/battlefield/battlefield-v?gra=VUEtMjgwNzIyOTEtMQ%3D%3D&_ga=2.120150920.1415362983.1536044720-1931129344.1528659773 )
if you're on pc then if you go to the store page there a button that says "Try it first" clicking that will add the beta tab to your game library (note if "Try it first" is not there on the origin client use a web browser and go to the store page and it should be there)
Hey there,

Go to https://www.origin.com and login with your account then look for the BFV Beta there and click on Try it first.
I had the same issue not being able to pre-load the beta in the client but through the website it works.
Redeemed an Amazon code for the pre-order that said it gave early beta access, restarted client, still no Try it First button on Web or Client. Any one else seeing that?
Edit: Client won't update to show but this link from another user worked. https://www.origin.com/usa/en-us/store/battlefield/battlefield-v
Pre-ordering on Origin does not cost anything (you get billed when they game comes out) and you can cancel at anytime or refund if you don't like it after that.
Discomfort means more than physical pain, it also encompasses emotional/mental discomfort and I like how you moved the goalpost after being proved wrong with two sources.
Have a good night.
