Hey guys.
As promised, here's my Z4 setup. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9vEeFu5S4fjT25lYUI3OG04cUU/edit?usp=sharing Paste into My Docs/Asseto/Setups.
It's likely not the outright fastest, but I was aiming for predictability and consistency rather than the last tenth, more experienced guys might want to try something a touch edgier. For me at least it's behaves a lot more consistently over the various phases of a corner over most of the track, instead of the z4's apparent alternating between massive grip and sudden massive oversteer every 0.5 seconds.
My only advice with it is to take care coming off the brakes on entry, too abrupt or too late and it will still try and snap on you. If you think it's a touch too understeery (I don't put anywhere near as much steering lock on than some people) take a click of rear wing out and move the brake bias rearward a little.
I don't drive the Z4 of habit so I'm behind the curve on raw pace with it, but it's easily capable of a low 48 with mediums and half a tank., likely much quicker if you know what your doing in BMW.
Let me know what you think of it and I can make changes/advise on adjustments. Apologies it's a bit late for US guys but that's a result of scheduling.
P.S I HATE THIS TRACK SO MUCH. And the amount of steering lock you can throw at the Z4 and still grip is mad, even by AC standards. Think it's going to be a close one this weekend.
Since I spent an inordinate amount of time setting up the software and my Twitch channel I'll be broadcasting the NA race. I'm sure everyone will enjoy looking at their ass from my perspective.

Well, that was rubbish. I'm surprised I wasn't even farther behind than I was. I apparently forgot how to drive between Friday and today, as my lap times came nowhere near what I was doing on Friday. In addition to that, I had a coming-together with Reiska on lap 4, which certainly didn't help matters. I seem to be going backwards this season.
I think one of the few people to have a worse race than me was Pascal, who finished just in front of me. What happened there? At least I'm normally near the back.
Logs and replay are here.
[Edit] Onboard video is now on YouTube.
Pro-Am replay is here, for those who want it. It's the entire race, for those who missed the first lap.
European time convert tool has been configured with wrong base settings. Here's the correct ones. >>>>> http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?msg=ACRL+EU+&iso=20150517T1930&p1=3903
Shirts, stickers, hats. I´d get one of those at least.
And with the money made we could get something like:
http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Mini-trophy_519678819.html?spm=a2700.7724857.35.1.AfDADY
or maybe:
that would look absoultely great with Assetto Corsa Racing league instead of Cambodian Air Force.
I seriously considered this for the Predictapalooza winner but then found that this would be way too much work for a one time project.
Now that I think about it, postage costs would be too high anyway :(

That was a fun little race. I stayed pretty consistent, had a clean start, and drove relatively well. For the latter part of the stint after my pitstop I was consistently making faster laps. My driving is getting better and more consistent; this is becoming jolly intense fun.. Sorry to /u/marketcrash16 who I almost divebombed into, and /u/gearysw who I wrecked when my computer stuttered. The latter nearly gave me a heart attack, and gladly was not as bad as it could've been.
PRO
This race didn't go well for me. I got caught up in the first lap incident and ended up with an orange front and deep orange rear. I was not going to drive for an hour with that, so pitted. I was a lap down by the time I got out.
After that it was pretty much just driving around, hoping for another GT2 driver to mess up and drop back to me. /u/LostTeaPot was kind enough to oblige me, and it got a little tense at some points because he was faster than I was, but didn't seem as consistent. He'd keep catching me then drop back.
I have to apologise to /u/NikoTheDroid for the botched lapping. I misjudged where we both were, and ended up taking us both off.
Pro
Well, that was certainly not the track I would have preferred for a first race. It was fun though, despite the mind-numbingness towards the end. I did better than I expected, that being that I would come last. I was saved from that by coret3x's lack of practice. Thanks mate!
I did end up having to stop 3 times, one of them just to repair damage. The lap after my first scheduled stop. Ultimately, I wasn't really able to get any full clean laps without damage. I did still manage an 8:49 with bright yellow bumpers, which I was fairly pleased about.
Logs and replay are here. Onboard will be uploaded tomorrow.
P.S. I think the consistency calculator on SimResults is broken; It's got me down as 6th most consistent.
[Edit] And a bonus screenshot of the grid.
I feared this race and it seems I was right at first, qualified 8th I think and got hit pretty hard in the first crash, just after the start.
From what I can see there is someone on my right who bump into Monolith and then "bounce" into me. I could have then taken the 8th position since I repositionned myself quicker then those involved but someone denies me that and proceed to make a U-turn right in front of me, making me crash once again.
You got it, I was then last with a pretty big gap between me and Adam who was 10th at this time.
From here my goal was to have a clean race without mistakes, hoping some will crash/spin and let me gain some places.
It took me 8 laps to finally catch Adam, who misses his breaking point, allowing me an easy overtaking. I am now 9th since we both passed someone who crashed during those laps.
From here, I did not overtake anyone, but gained 5 places just by driving carefully, passing by crash scenes :D
At the end I'm quitte happy with the result, finishing 4th.
From now on I will definitely have more consideration for the "play safe" strategy, even if I think the high number of crashes might be because of the low downforce setups.
It really was a good race overall with AJ and TaL having their own battle at the front (sometimes a little loud :P ), too bad I can't make it for the ring, I'll see you all on Mugello!
PS. Here is my replay of the full race, unzip and drop it here : Documents/Assetto Corsa/replay

Looking forward to sunday. Nice to see things moving again. Also, surely someone has version of M-Ohio that was used? If it's better then just use that I would say.
Good start! Do you have a *_map.dds file in the directory? This controls the reflection. * is the name of the dds file that is the skin. Not sure of the exact file names for the BMW. Essentially copy your skin to a file with _map at the end of the file name. Delete everything in this new file and make it a single solid colour. White will give you a gloss finish reds and blacks a matte look.
I would be tempted to make the green shiny and keep the black matte, that may look cool. you can do this by colouring the same regions as in your original skin a darker shade to the rest of the template.
As an example, my car last season I made the sponsor decals shiny and the finish matte. SKIN_00.dds SKIN_map.dds this is for a mclaren file names will be different for the bmw as they were not consistent
Pro-Am
That was a bloody disaster! I had no confidence in the car, meaning I couldn't go anywhere near as fast as the others; most of the time lapping in the 2:03s.
I also have to apologise for completely cocking up the first corner hitting pascalwb and causing a nice chain reaction. Coret3x too, for the collision on lap 9.
Replay and logs are here. Onboard will be linked probably tomorrow.
Onboard is up on YouTube.
I was on cold tires out of the pits as I didn't change them and they cooled down too much while crawling down the pit lane and refuelling. That made the car somewhat understeery for the first lap and yeah I left the door a bit open in T4 to give you that chance. Didn't think you would be able to accelerate that fast keeping the inside line.
I have saved all my ACRL replays here https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/t6JlfPJ0TRq7OaCAyhPRwCY73hi1Xlrcx6h8YMM3bTi
So if you ever decide to make Spa or Paul Ricard video you know where to get the replays
It's not really a suggestion, rather a requirement. You don't have to have a mic and talk on TS, but you have to be on there during a race/quali. It enables the mods to give us information quickly if it becomes necessary. Teamspeak is voice chat software.
Teamspeak can be downloaded from here: https://www.teamspeak.com/downloads
You can use that tool to connect to a teamspeak channel that our friendly community members have provided us with on this server: ts.83division.com
Password is in the subreddit sidebar. And also the connection parameters for the backup server in case the primary TS server goes down.
The first 3 rows in the "Team Speak Servers" table in the sidebar are actually the race servers, so you can ignore those. Not really sure why they are there.
Also, welcome to acrl

That first lap. Wow. What a disaster that was. I've no idea how, but I managed to get through everything without actually colliding with anyone.
My race overall, went pretty well; my pace could have been better, but it wasn't too bad. I even managed to keep snooz behind me for a few laps. Until I got on the grass under braking, anyway.
After that I was mostly on my own, aside from being lapped, until around lap 24 when DMzda caught up, and we had a bit of an on-and-off battle until the end of the race.
Logs and replay are Here.
[Edit] Onboard is now on YouTube ~~in lovely 360p because YouTube is being silly. Ignore the video length, that's also just YouTube being silly~~. Reuploaded it, so it's in a decent resolution, and with a normal time stamp.
Pro-Am.
Well, that went better than I expected, which is saying something given I came last by 20 seconds. I had my poorest showing in qualifying so far, being over a second slower than the guy in front, though I did go better in the race. I just felt like I had no grip whatsoever, and couldn't get a feel for the track at all.
I guess I've found a track I dislike more than Imola.
Logs and replay are here, onboard will be up later, as usual.
[Edit] Onboard is now on YouTube.
The download folder should be publicly accessible. This is the link just to make sure you were trying the correct one (upload folder does require a log-in). My script see the bottom of this page takes all of the hassle out of downloading and will work if you don't have a OneDrive account. It checks your game folders for the skins so you can keep up to date without re downloading the entire directory. It also downloads them to the correct location!
Thanks for the heads up! Will check/get someone else to look into the password thing
Yes that is the correct place and everything is as it should be!
Stuff was being accidentally deleted so there are now 2 folders. One that you upload skins to, periodically these are moved to the folder which people can download from, the actual skin pack (that has no edit permissions so things don't get muddled up!). So if you go back to where you uploaded you will probably find your skin is not there, it should have migrated to the skin pack folder.
For proof:
Upload folder (should be empty/nearly empty, and only current season)
Skin pack (your skin should have found its way here, also past seasons are available)
Pro-Am.
Well, that was rubbish. I didn't hit anyone this race, but I did manage to not only put myself 30 seconds down in the first 5 laps, but also to underfuel my car. Had to pit on lap 8, and then I had to guess at how much fuel to put in.
The next ~13 laps were spent just going round, being lapped, and spinning every now and then. And then, I discovered I'd underfueled again and had to pit again on lap 21.
There was a bit of bright spot in that classicpark had just as bad a race as I did, and I came out of the pits next to him. Spent the next few laps battling him for second-to-last place while being lapped at the same time. Then, just as I'd got past him and pulled away a little, I went and binned it on the last corner.
Logs and replay on OneDrive. Onboard will be linked later.
The onboard is now on Youtube.

Thats what I'm on at the minute. Let me know if the link works for you. And camber is simples, just change it until all the pressures across the tyre are roughly the same ish. :)
Oh man, daylight savings times are going to make things confusing: http://www.timeanddate.com/time/dst/2014.html
It looks like most of the Europeans (as far as I checked) switch to DST on the same days. The US and Canada switches on the same set of days, but different in comparison to Europe. Some parts of Australia follow DST and some don't, and the ones that do switch on different days from US and Canada.

Not a very good session from me. Had to build the whole setup in this session. Tomorrow I can't drive probably, so this might be my final time on this track.
Try using this. Enter 151.80.46.172 (ACRL server IP) as the host name. Let it run for 15 minutes to see if you start to drop packets
I really don't see a reason for leaving. The main arguments are based on bureaucracy and immigration. Immigration seems fine to me our unemployment rate is 5.4% and has been steadily decreasing since 2012. As for the bureaucracy, this logic seems to be relevant... Most of the rules and regulations we would want to recreate and others maybe imposed as parts of trade deals.
Basically from my point of view why risk economic stability (what little there is), also as I'm in science/research I see a lot of grants disappearing if we leave. Furthermore I see no people or organizations I have faith in backing leave, just the racist leper limb of the UK political system UKIP (used to be the BNP but as they have basically disappeared IMO that mantle has passed on)
Friendly reminder, the times we're asking you to fill in are UTC/GMT. This might be confusing but helps tremendously.
Make sure to check which timezone you are currently in by checking the map which is posted in the poll as well.
http://www.timeanddate.com/time/map/
Look for your location and check the bottom, it'll say GMT + or - and calculate your times back to GMT/UTC.
GMT is a fixed timezone that does not take winter/summer time into account. Which means sometimes GMT is the same as british time and GMT + 1 is the same as europe time. Sometimes brittain is an hour ahead and so GMT + 1 is british and GMT + 2 is european.
The easiest thing to do when in doubt is to go here and convert the time from GMT/UTC to your location.
For events, the mods always go to that website and create an event at the appropriate time so you can see exactly when it is. Everyone should USE THAT LINK so that even if there's a mistake in the link description that describes a wrong time/zone, we all still show up at the right time. If you spot a mistake, post about it and the mods can update the link.
So someone had suggested "UK time" would be the least confusing way of communicating the time, but I guess not. We mean 8:15 PM in London (BST), if that's any clearer. For the avoidance of doubt, please use the time shown in this link: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?msg=ACRL+EU&iso=20150405T2015&p1=136
If someone knows what is the clearest and easiest way of communicating time for Europeans, please let us know.
Pro-Am.
Aside from a spin on lap 30 which left me facing 4 cars coming up to lap me, that went pretty decently. Apart from cocking up the pit entry which'll get me a nice penalty. In fact, it was probably the most relaxed I've been while racing, which seemed to really help my lap times. My 50% time was nearly half a second faster than all my practice sessions. I don't know what it is about Donington, but I really enjoy driving there.
Of course, now I just need to learn how to gain another couple of seconds of time, so I can actually get higher than second-to-last.
Logs and (truncated) replay here.
[Edit] Onboard footage is now on Youtube.
:) Thank you! I've just completed a 30-lap race at Paul Ricard versus the AI.
Event details:
oh and setup was stock except acceleration lock 60%->50% and ride height was lowered by 3 both front and rear.
It should be quite obvious I had 0 concentration near the end... hah.

In response to your comment.. the curbs are actually quite nasty. they appear to have a more rounded shape than on other tracks, although this isn't the case on every (part of a) curb. I'm a little scared of curbs in general, so I've not been using them most the time. I found myself easily pushing the car at Paul Ricard though, so maybe it would be a prime track to learn to use curbs at. There is one corner on the track where trail breaking (heck, better yet.. drifting) seems to be the fastest way to go through it, as I accidentally found out :D
Best lap was a 2:09.762 btw; race pace was 2:11s.

(Better footage can be found in my response to AdderSwim just below this post)
I just completed a lap during my practice on Paul Ricard that felt 'perfect' (only minor mistakes). I saved the replay, and when I went to load the replay I noticed it had only saved 2 minutes and 7 seconds..? AC has been acting up recently... I'm not sure why.
I was going to upload the replay for you guys to check, and still will, but darn it for AC only recording like half the lap... ._. idk if I'll be able to get a lap as good again. it was only my 15th lap on Paul Ricard ever though, so I suppose I should be able to. we'll see.
Here's the replay file (27MB)
If you'd rather just have the onboard... for some reason the onboard camera was at the trunk of my car in the replay, so I think it's better to let you watch the replay instead.
edit: ok the maximum replay size was at 26MB w/ high quality... it's at 500MB and low now. for some reason the game doesn't recognize the data in My Documents but only the data on OneDrive. Windows 10 is weird.
Announcement as mod:
Some of you might have noticed this last GT3 season, some might not have and some simply might not know - but all Lap 1 incidents will be automatically reviewed by the stewards. But to do that we'll need replays from Split 2 & 3 as no moderator was present in those splits. Please submit links to your replays by replying to this comment with links (to the replays).
Please report all incidents you have been involved in. Here on this form.
FYI, for whoever sets up the official race server this weekend, I set up a temporary server to practice on for the night with 32 max clients (equal to the number of pit boxes at blackwood), and I couldn't connect to my own server. Dropped it down to 30 clients and it worked just fine.
Here's my entry list to save you time on making your own. Mostly distributed towards the 458 and MP4 since they're quicker.
Here are the templates for skinning the Audi and Toyota And the GTE cars with numberplates on them. ~~There is a chance there will be numberplates later, but don't count on it.~~
For now there is a font in that folder, you do not need it and it isn't the right one for the numberplates; what you need is Source Sans Pro.
I made some server files, that you can find here
So if you want to experience the same level of grip (or lack of it) you can use them for your server.
it'd be a best seller. i think there's like one book on the topic. obviously it's not the biggest niche but come on!
