Haha. If your friend uses an IFTTT recipe to change his background, I'm sure he got it, cause I also got it. x)
Edit: Here is the recipe
It's called "Aerial view of undersea volcanoes erupting" by Chris Clor, https://www.blendimages.com/search?keywords=BLD212404&sort=weight%20desc
A few more from the surface wallpaper collection: https://sway.com/PF2jZUtDnDLToBJ7
Well there is this page for minimal wallpapers, however I think I got this particular one off of some other site. This isn't the original though, it's edited by me to my liking. Here is the original., if you like that one better :)
Here is a slightly different version with higher resolutions available: https://dribbble.com/shots/936305-D-I-G-I-T-A-L-R-O-S-E?list=users&offset=29
If you like the style, check out his other work, too! I have been using this and some of his other wallpapers on all my devices for quite some time.
I was wondering wtf was my wallpaper as I thought it was a regular christmas wallpaper. (I use IFTTT that automatically changes my phone wallpaper to whatever is on hot page.)
Edit:* I'm pleased you guys like IFTTT, here is the following applet for the changing wallpaper: https://ifttt.com/applets/161614p
Hahaha that is total bull shit. $50 billion for one jet? Where the hell did you pull that number from. They actually cost between $150m - $350m. Which is still a lot but no where near the ridiculous number you gave.
Fort Wayne, IN, if I'm not mistaken. I fucking hate my city and these dickweeds in Guy Fawkes masks. Understand the mask's history before you fucking wear it.
EDIT: Allow me to clarify. I hate my city's occupy movement. Goddamn, what a bunch of superficially rebellious fuckwits.
And, yep, intersection of Clinton and Main.

Removed the pedestrian on the right side and adjusted gamma. Full pic with these adjustments can be found here.
The word "element" does not necessarily refer to "chemical element." See, for example, "The Elements of Style," by Strunk and White, a classic and famously concise text on good writing, or the movie "The Fifth Element". There's nothing wrong with talking about the elements of the automotive drive train, for example, without mentioning iron.
> GTA5 single player ... was pretty darn short and lacking
According to HowLongToBeat.com, the average playthrough of the game is 31 hours (I think mine was about 24 hours). Meanwhile, the incredible single-player of Red Dead Redemption is 18.5 hours. I won't disagree with it being "lacking" (that's a personal discussion), but stating that it's "pretty darn short" is an inaccurate accusation, as far as I'm concerned.
I doubt this'll blow up to the point where this is necessary, but if anyone is looking for the original image, it can be found here:

So that you know for next time, you can reverse search for an image by going to https://images.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl and pasting in the image url then clicking 'search by image', or by uploading it. You might have to do some digging, but you'll usually find the original there. For this one, the reddit link was on the third page.
I thought it was Luke, too, but the artist said it's supposed to be Obi Wan.

You could also use IFTTT, but that's probably a lot more in-depth than you want if you're only going to use it to change your wallpaper every minute and a half.
Haha, so there is a Bavaria, Kansas. They even have a lot of fun things to do, if by fun things, you mean lunch or dinner.
As tends to be the norm in this subreddit, these can all be found (with some clicking, mind you) on InterfaceLift minus the blogspam and complete with descriptions.
Had this as my wallpaper for a few years now, never gets old!! Last year I decided I HAD to find the artist, wasn't easy but I did! Agsandrew
They've got enough wallpapers like this for the rest of my life! Although many are sampled behind a Shutterstock paywall
Try simpledesktops!
I know it's not specifically what you're looking for, but I do know they have quite a few character wallpapers similar to what you're looking for!
This one's by Simon Stålenhag, and it's from his collection called The Electric State - you can find all three of his books on Amazon.
Love it, Labowski, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir dogs. It's called Quentin Vs. Coen.
And by me posting this site, I have an idea that it will be shut down for a while due to too many of us going here. Good Luck
Which available metric on the quality of movies has said otherwise? An extremely high percentage of fans and critics like it, it's all over social media, score aggregate sites all have it with a high score, etc. I meant literally.
Not to mention, even if I didn't mean every measure I can think of, the informal definition in the dictionary would have my back anyways.
Hi all. Sorry I posted this and went to bed and then work, hadn't had time to update.
No it isn't from Firewatch, although it does have a similar feel. Found this on Pixabay. The best part is it's a vector and you can edit out any part you don't want and set any resolution you want.
Tilt shifting is actually rather easy. I have more trouble finding good subjects than I do actually applying the effect. It's basically just a gradient blur done with quick mask mode. This is the same basic process I use.
Check out Blender. It's a bit complicated, but it is free to use and has a powerful toolset & rendering system.
There's a lot of programs and tutorials out there for stuff like this.

I'll also be at work for another 8 hours, so basic resizes I can do - bigger image or smaller text or whatever.

Should at least link the original art by Mikael Gustafsson with a bonus animated version.
As a Yonkers native I can say that the place the battle takes place in looks nothing like this.
Edit: For anyone interested a while ago I put together a map showing the location the battle took place

Personally, I'm a much bigger fan of test based launchers. Windows Vista and above have the start bar, but launchy is my pick. alt+spacebar brings up a little window, type the first 2-3 letters of the program you want to run, enter. Or, say I'm working in FF, but I want to open a website in chrome, alt+spacebar -> type chr (auto completes to chrome) -> press tab ->type in url or website -> enter. Now that site opens in chrome. Or, I want to look up a movie: alt+spacebar -> type im (autocompletes to IMDB) -> press tab -> type in name of movie -> enter. Go straight to the IMDB search results page. It can also do math, or interact with the file system, and all kinds of shit (and there are plugins to do more). But the big advantage is you never take your hands off the keyboard, and typing a few letters is almost always faster than hunting for the right icon with your mouse.
I have windows 7, so mine cycles, but it is at the moment this. I got it from InterfaceLIFT, an awesome wallpaper website
OK ladies and gents, here it is: 581 wallpapers (it's 405mb) in one handy, grab-and-go, zip file:

I am the creator of this image. So glad you guys liked it! I originally had Dempsey in it but changed it to Tim Howard when it became obvious he was the man.
Sorry it took so long, as soon as I started I received a phone call... heh, of course, when I start doing something everyone wants to call me... :/
anyway, I produced a basic one with a bit of a thicker border on the lines and slightly larger as well as some ... alternates... check out the imgur album here, and let me know what you think or if you need changes... :)
Edit: the second alternate may not seem much of well, an alternate, bit it's got a soft glowing blur of the three base colours... It shows up much better on a desktop as I just noticed on my mobile it's not quite that much of a change... at least not with me saving battery and having the screen dimmed. ;)
If you want watchmen or other movie related ones then I got THE site for you :)
http://www.themoviedb.org/movie/13183-watchmen/backdrops
That's where the one you posted came from and there are may other great ones. There is a search on the top for every movie you can think of.
There is also a sister site for TV series. http://thetvdb.com/index.php?tab=nojs
I use these sites for my metascraper that grabs all them for my TV and Movies but if you just want the backdrops there you go.
And btw all 1080p or greater for the most part.
Toggling wifi on and off is currently a problem it is missing. The closest to that I have from using ITTT is this which just sends a notification at a certain time. There's likely a way to tie it into tasker or another wifi automation app, but unfortunately it's not available yet.
I expect it would require rooting the phone?
if you have an android phone, you can have something similar as a live wallpaper.. i've used it before and i can recommend it as it can recreate the picture you posted

and here's one other along the same lines

For those who are wondering about the landscape, the picture looks to be of the Longji terraces in China. What you're seeing are terraces of rice paddy fields. I am guessing that the village in the background is Ping'An village.

Hey guys, made this on my flight.
Mobile, 4K, 1080 versions available here
if you like the work, please appreciate the project. thanks!
Even if the coins were there, you would not be able to get them since you can't go left past the camera. I went through the first of the three pipes in the underground level in Mari0 (Mario with a portal gun. Great fun. Contains what appears to be a block for block recreations of the levels in the original in one of its map packs. You can also walk left and the camera will follow.) This led to the room with two floors of coins, but there was no tunnel leading to the first group of underground coins - just the brick wall. In other words, they don't exist.
OP added on to the original image (which (s)he was kind enough to link to) in order to get it to the resolution of 3 1920x1080 monitors.
For the lazy:
>Basic Features
>Rope off your desktop Fences allows you to create shaded areas on your desktop that you can place icons in. You can label them however you wish, and move/resize them anywhere on the desktop. Pre-included layouts help speed the process for new users.
>See your wallpaper again! Quickly hide & show all your icons with an easy double-click Double click blank space on your desktop, and all your icons will fade out. Double click again, and they’ll return. We think this feature is so useful and unique, that we’ve applied for a patent on it. You can even pick icons and individual Fences to exclude!
>Create snapshots, and have automatic scaling (for screen size changes) Take and restore snapshots of your Fence layouts for backup, or for when you are doing different tasks. Change your resolution for playing games and Fences will keep them in the same relative spots. In the Pro version of Fences, the "snapshot" feature has been enhanced to automatically take and keep recent snapshots on hand, ensuring your desktop layout never gets lost.
I sometimes use an "AI Image Upscaler" and the results can be pretty good! I thinkthis is the one I've used before.
E: Here it is, upscaled 4x.
Not sure if this counts but I tried taking photos a while back with this theme. Viewing office supplies or small toys in a scene a child would, though they were toy fights
If i remember correctly, either the original artist or a fan made a program that changes through the wallpapers gradually as the day goes on, synchronized to your computer clock. I think of it every time I see this wallpaper, but i can't find it again ): Saw it a few years ago.
edit: WHOAAA. So i tineye'd this found this.
It's a collection of images, not sure if by the same artist, but it's all centered in that universe/town. At least a couple dozen.
If you mean from PC to phone, I recommend you install pushbullet.
Install the app on your phone and the chrome extension, then you can share links, music, pictures and all kinds of files from you PC to your phone through wifi
Hi, the home page of the creator of the script: Calvin and Hobbes APOD . I suppose that you are on linux, you have to install the program Imagemagick , is on all the distros (you know yum, apt-get ), it's like s swissknife for images, copy the script to a folder , make "chmod +x name_of_the_script" and then "sh ./name_of_the_script". It will connect to APOD, will download the image and create a version with C&H in it. Hope it helps a little bit, if you are on Mac, ithink it's really similar, in Windows i have no idea sorry (no i won't tell you to change to Linux, use what you like more).
Partial derivatives (easy), dot/cross products, and multiple integrals are the main bits. They're not too hard once you get the basic idea down. Khan Academy can help figure those out. You'll be golden :)
Decided to throw some stuff together and use a generic wallpaper as a background.
Here's a folder of all the files I used.
Hopefully this helps! The PSD should be included for download.
After some digging... This Google Streetview shot shows the butcher in question, we're in Cuges-les-Pins, France.
Oh, and the car is sexy as well.
The only reason I can think of for drinking that sickly shit is the awesome tax they charge on each can.
Seeing that they've got this far without me I'll just stick to checking out their fun antics every now and then.
Well then, you're in luck anyways. Because I was going to recommend you a TinEye extension which is really useful for finding higher resolution wallpapers. This is the equivalent one for chrome ;)
Hmm... "black background"? I've got an Adobe sRGB calibration on my monitor here and the background is most certainly dark blue... is your display correctly calibrated? Thanks for the constructive criticism anyway...
I actually like it like that, but you're more than welcome to make adjustments! :) Here's the PSD.
I am a big fan, but I wouldn't go so far as to call him genius. He has his moments of brilliance, a rare sharp bit of witty satire and dark humor, and he has a poetic knack for great quotes. But I don't think that college professors will be teaching his works decades from now as our generation's F. Scott Fitzgerald. I find it interesting that he is such a polarizing figure though, and most people either think he is a god or a fraud when really he is just a man with some good ideas and gift for distilling the darker sides of humanity and contemporary culture into fantastic little tidbits of word virus.
I used IFTTT to automate downloading new backgrounds
like this recipe https://ifttt.com/recipes/224663-saves-reddit-r-wallpapers-into-a-onedrive-folder
But I feel your pain, I used to be really picky about my wallpapers and I love doing the same thing, having my wallpaper switch every hour.
Artstation post. Thought of having a desktop version by cropping to the bit with the forest and moon landscape and upscaling. You can probably get better results by cropping from the 4k versions provided on her gumroad for other goodies, but just to abide to using the free online version.
Made one just for you. Since this is leaving the territory of my work and going into the artist who provided me with the photo, I need to point out that the photo was provided to me with permission to use and is not mine. I did do a lot of color correcting and editing on it but without the logo overlay I can't really claim it as my work.
So here's the photographer's Flikr page should you be interested in more. If you would like just the original with no color correction you can find it here.
Here you go :) I had a lot of trouble with the proportions of the australian flag so I apologize for how bad this one is. Hopefully it's still usable. If not let me know and I'll try to fix it a little bit. Also imgur wouldn't let me upload it for some reason so that is why I linked to a different site.
A quick google search returned this guide: http://www.howtogeek.com/111859/how-to-batch-rename-files-in-windows-4-ways-to-rename-multiple-files/ It depends on what you are looking to name your files, but windows explorer has some built in options.
I've compiled down to 3 different versions based on what lighting you prefer while finding the best highest res possible. Sources to each image is in the description for each image.
I've mostly centered around posting a version with the empty streets, but the versions with later additions can be seen through the album as for the full final piece in the artstation post.
It's pretty easy really, I'd recommend using a dedicated multiple monitor management tool such as Dual Monitor Tools. I use the Dual Wallpaper tool all the time for my three monitor setup. If you have questions ask.
I made some wallpapers to promote some posters I'm trying to get funding for via kickstarter! Check out the project for a real life wallpaper (aka poster).
This is by Francesco Lorenzetti. http://www.this-is-cool.co.uk/the-sci-fi-art-of-francesco-lorenzetti/
If you want to find the source of an image, go to https://images.google.com/ and paste the image URL/upload the image (or right-click and select 'Search Google for image' if you're in Chrome). You won't always find the source, and it can require a little digging, but you can usually find it. TinEye is also a good website to use and will occasionally give results if Google can't find anything.
https://johnsad.ventures/software/backgroundswitcher/
The best wallpaper switcher I have found, I use it on all my machines. Its free and has current updates. From the website: John’s Background Switcher puts beautiful full-screen photos and stunning montages on your desktop from places like your computer, Flickr, Facebook, Instagram and plenty more places.
For a continuous panorama like that someone will have to make wallpapers for you. I found a handful of images that are wide enough but only 3 looked at all decent when made into wallpapers, and they're not ideal.
If you don't mind having different images on each monitor you can use a program like Display Fusion.
Here is the original photo. It looks much bigger while it's an actual lake.
edit: I just found the picture and edited it. There's a possibility it is not Wanaka. But who would go on the internet and just lie?
I had no idea about the cool storm drains in the UK. Thanks for showing me that.
I don't think this is a storm drain. I went back to the site that I found this on, and hunted it down for you. OP never said where this is. Here is the description: "The photo was taken in an underground gallery. It was never put into service and the gallery are now abandoned."
I'd head on over to Interfacelift if I was you. I find it to be the best source in general. Can chose your resolution and double or triple monitor setups.
http://interfacelift.com/wallpaper/downloads/date/2_screens/
Njoy.
I grabbed this from interfacelift.com years ago(2006~?), awesome wallpaper. you can probably find all the info on that site.
EDIT: tineye to the rescue, http://interfacelift.com/wallpaper/details/1602/sandringham_beach.html
Looks like it's Chicago. A little digging on TinEye reveals the InerfaceLift submission for it (seems like it was deleted or something.) The photographer's website has that image as well as a few others, though there doesn't seem to be any high resolution version on there.
This is a desktop image I added to my collection recently. I like the colors and the calm mood. I'm thinking about mirroring/reversing the image to see if it works better for filling the desktop in a way that balances the default icon setup, i.e. moving the waterfall to the right side.
The original is here with many more sizes for download. Enjoy!
Also for some reason the download button on Pexels and Unsplash both give a more compressed version of the actual full sized image. In this case, the downloaded version gives a 553KB version opposed to extracting the image within the viewer on the site which gives a noticably less compressed 3.44MB version.
This particular image isn't actually pixel art, but there is /r/PixelArt.
Also...
I wish. I used to do a lot more design work, but the market in my country basically collapsed, so now I do something else while this is just a way to keep/improve the skills (well, this sort of thing and the occasional freelance job).
As for other programs - I have used all sorts of things over time, currently for organic 3D modelling Sculptris is very nice (and free!), for technical 3D stuff I'd use a solid modelling/CAD package and then use 3DS MAX to bring those things together. In 2D it's the default choice of Photoshop and then CorelDRAW for vector work (just used to it).
At the end of the day most of it is self-learned and all the tricks and such just come from experience.
Raja Ampat, Indonesia is one of the most spectacular locations for diving in the world, especially during bait fish season. The reefs are already some of the most lush and pristine anywhere on the planet, but in October, every underwater scene is graced by the presence of millions of little silversides shoaling together en masse. The schools can be so thick they blot out the sun, or in this case, envelope a diver in a tornado of fins and scales. - Alexandra Rose

Some spoiler alert regarding the video if you haven't seen the series yet.
Reminds me a bit of the great red forest from 12 Monkeys.

You can take as many screen shots and do with them as you please.
Sure thing, boss.

Download link is near the bottom of the page.
I included another site logo that has a white outer glow and the bevel/emboss shiny effect from the wallpaper. Should stand out better on your site.
The font name is Planet Kosmos, you can download it here for free.
Let me know if you need anything else.
sweet collection, but you have a lot of duplicates
I had this problem a while back and found Visipics.
It will help get rid of most of the duplicates!
(I think) he meant that the wallpaper resemembles the logo of the CMake program (a software developer tool). The colors are even at the right sides of the triangle, only yellow is not used in the CMake logo.
Nexus 5, I use this app. I made a similar recipe, which updated my wallpaper when there was a hot post instead of a top post, because it takes a long time for a new top post.
You can still watch it with a VPN!! I use ExpressVPN (yes it's a monthly sub) and there are lists of which servers are working with Netflix! I connect to Washington and BAM I'm blessed with American Netflix.
Looks like they're using this icon pack https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sonny.lpi.frost2&hl=en with some kind of custom launcher (I use Nova) with the icon size lowered and the grid size increased.
Not OP, but I'm pretty sure s/he's using an app called Muzei. There's a plugin for it on the Play Store, which shuffles wallpapers from subreddits you choose, like /r/wallpapers or /r/earthporn.
