Reddit extension for muzei
I use muzei with the reddit extension. You can have Muzei switch your wallpaper every set interval (30 mins, 1 hour, 4 hours, 1 day, 2 days, etc.). You can use your photos or random art provided by Muzei. With the reddit extension, you can have a random rotation of wallpapers from different subreddits. /r/wallpapers, /r/spaceporn, /r/earthporn are some of the best ones.
I'm guessing Muzei, which you can set up to pull wallpapers from subreddits with this extension.
Let me enlighten you. It's this app that you can use along with this app extension for reddit that allows you to change your wallpaper every x hours and set it to top posts on any image based subreddit you want. Right now I've added all posts on /r/spaceporn, /r/mostbeautiful and /r/nocontextpics that are over 2500 karma.
Life is amazing.
Using Muzei Live Wallpaper and the reddit extention.
For Android phones you can install the Muzei Live Wallpaper app and then get the APOD plug-in:
It'd be awesome to have this sort of feature on my PC, though.
Edit: thanks for the gold! :D
Skip Tasker altogether and use Muzei with the Reddit plugin. By far the best solution, Muzei allows for image blur, dim and desaturation, and you can configure it to cycle every x hours/days.
May I recommend Muzei? It's a nice app that rotates fine art desktop and lock screen (you can play with the settings a bit). I've been using it for some time now and it's pretty nice. No ads and is free. I'm sure there are others, but this is one I stumbled upon when I needed more diversity with my phone.
Tip: Use Muzei and Reddit - Muzei to automatically change your wallpaper from this sub.
You have to open Muzei, choose "Pics from Reddit" and select the subs you want (in this case r/AmoledBackgrounds). You can also set the interval i.e. automatically have the wallpaper change every 60 minutes, etc
Very cool, thanks for the heads up!
By the way, there's a wallpaper switcher with art from around the world called Muzei. You can change the blur and come saturation, too!
On Android I use Muzei Live Wallpaper with this Reddit extension.
You can try Muzei. Then install this extension: [link], that can get pictures from images subreddits. /r/earthporn will have that kind of images.
Muzei is great too, install this reddit plugin and it pulls images from the awesome photo subreddits
Check out Muzei with the Reddit plugin
I like Muzei for wallpaper discovery, especially combined with the Reddit plugin that let's you specify subs to grab new images from.
Note: I think there's an open bug where it crashes on nexus 6.
If you combine it with Muzei, it is amazing. You can have a source for wallpapers, and it switches every now and then (you can even use subreddits as sources if you have this thing), and your watch has the same wallpaper.
> What's a good app (non-intrusive, lightweight without excessive permissions and ads) that cycles between a set of assigned wallpapers?
Muzei can cycle through files in a folder or if you want more control Smart Wallpaper.
Muzei can do that easily with the Reddit addon
Im using an addon for Muzei
If you are looking for a nice wallpaper replacement for android check out Muzei. There are a lot of plugins, but I use one to pull down a random picture from some of the imaginary network subreddits every 30 min.
I'm currently using Muzei with this plugin. You can choose your favorite subreddits and the cycle time (every X minutes), even limiting (per subreddit) how many upvotes the pictures must have before it shows them to you.
I'll do you one better: [link]
You pick the subreddits it subscribes to and it will cycle your wallpapers through top posts of those subreddits at an interval of your choosing.
I've got mine subbed to /r/earthporn /r/spaceporn and /r/exposureporn and it switches every half hour.
Here's links for anybody interested.
Reddit plugin for Muzei
Muzei is the defacto standard I belive. It's free and it supports plugins, so add a plugin for whatever tickles your fancy.
When I'm not using that, I use Tapet because it generates lovely wallpapers. I paid the tiny fee for the Pro version and don't regret it all. Tapet will work standalone or as a plugin to Muzei.
this [link] along with this: [link]
is much easier than IFTT. Allows you to put in whatever subreddits you want & it will cycle through the top posts of them all.
What I use personally is the IFTTT recipe to change my wallpaper the NASA photo of the day. [link]
I also like muzei [link]
Yes. A very solid one is Muzei. It’s the one I use and you can customize it with various plugins to determine what genre of wallpaper you would like to see. Here’s the link to it [link]
If you get an app called Muzei, and then an addon called Muzei - Reddit, you can achieve the same thing. You can also autimatically blur or dim the photo, and there are multiple options for sources and refresh intervals. Just set Muzei as your lockscreen in settings.
I like Muzei. You can you use your own photos or even images from Reddit subs using various plugins. Plus you can select how often you want the wallpaper to change.
You can use Muzei and have it cycle through a folder of images at set intervals. It can also be linked to certain subreddits to pull directly from there.
I assume that by carousel you mean images that change randomly etc? If so, I use Muzei and it can do that for your home screen and lock screen. Lots of options and sources
The best I’ve found for this is an app called Muzei.
It won’t be every time you unlock your phone, but you can set it to change as often as every 15 minutes.
Would it be possible to make your app compatible with the same image souces used by Muzei Live Wallpaper? The code and API is open, so it seems like a convenient way to have a lot of potential sources for your app.
Just use Muzei with Vitrina. Much more user friendly and easier to configure.
It's most likely the blur feature of the Muzei wallpaper app!
Link me: Muzei Live Wallpaper
EDIT: Oops, turns out the link me bot doesn't work on this sub. Anyway, here's the app: Muzei Live Wallpaper
You can use Muzei with an Instagram plugin
Cheer bro. Yeah, the background to the clock annoys me sometimes, but i have wallpapers on rotation, using Muzei and some of them make it hard to see the clock. so it's just a blank zooper widget with a bit of transparency. lol. contemplating alternatives. :)
I'd probably recommend Muzei with a plugin. I do something similar, but I use foldersync to sync files from the cloud to my phone and use a folder plugin to accomplish the same.
Honestly, I just use Muzei and the pics from reddit plugin. I dislike having a single wallpaper all the time.
I use Muzei too since the auto blur feature is amazing. It helps make all the icons and widgets standout from the background.
Here's the link for anyone interested: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.nurik.roman.muzei&hl=en
Android: Muzei App with APOD Muzei app
A different space related picture every day.
Muzei does that. You can make your own folder and select only those images but the minor issue you'll likely run into is it zooms in on images so the wallpapers that hide the camera hole punch out will be off.
Muzei Live Wallpaper. I used to have it a few years ago. You can select from your own photos or use theirs.
I've been using the muzei app with National Geographic source for a few years now. I get great photos that change every few hours and are blurred until I double tap. The blur is the one of the best features because any colors or shapes don't clash with my icons until I double tap and reveal the photo.
Not quite what you're looking for, but in the Microsoft Launcher, there's a setting to set your wallpaper & lock screen with daily photos or a slideshow of your favorite photos (up to 50?).
It's possible to switch the photos with a gesture of your choice.
Alternatively, there's Muzei, which changes your wallpaper to famous art pieces.
I don't think the Google Wallpapers has a custom folder option, you can use another wallpaper app to help change up wallpapers from different sources such as a custom folder. My go to app would be Muzie
My current solution doesn't involve Tasker at all but a live wallpaper app which cycles through images from a given source called Muzei.
It has (or used to, at least) an extension called Pics from Reddit that allows you to set one or several subreddits as Muzei's source as well as specify the interval after which a new image is made into the wallpaper.
Pics from Reddit seems to have vanished from the Play Store but there is Walls for Reddit from XDA now.
Still, with the last app version upgrade the developer has announced that these so-called legacy sources (probably all Muzei plugins) won't be supported much longer.
I'm using muzei for my wallpaper (live wallpaper app in app store) I'm also Reddit app for muzei so that it gets random images off Reddit, sometimes use the Google Earth muzei plugin thing
Muzei - [link]
Reddit plugin thing -
Do you get any live wallpapers you installed from Play store or anywhere else in that list? Muzei for example. That doesn't work for my Mix 2 or any other device I have seen.
I'm not sure if blurring the background is the responsibility of the launcher, I suggest using Muzei instead. Nevertheless, I've noted it, and will see how feasible it is.
You can use this along with
to automatically pull photos from whatever subreddit you want, and rotate them as wallpapers on your phone.
It may negatively affect battery life tho.
I recommend the app Muzei for this! [link]
If you search in the Play Store for "Muzei" you can find plenty of plugins for it that can cycle wallpapers throughout the day. Pretty sure you can set it up with locally stored photos too.
Do you know Muzei? With the reddit plugin it automatically grabs images from your favorite subreddit.
Muzei dude. [link]
You can even set it to choose specific subreddit pictures with this add on: [link]
Have you tried muzei? That links to a lot of wallpaper apps and it can be set up to change the wallpaper automatically.
Muzei Link: [link]
There's a Muzei extension that does exactly this. It pulls locations from earth view and sets them as background.
Muzei Earth View
its not an app you can use...though there are plenty of live wallpapers that can do this.
Muzie and its plug-ins is probably the most well known ones. this and the 500 firepaper plug in is amazing.
On Android you can install Muzei and the Muzei reddit plugin. Then it's just a matter of setting your wallpaper to Muzei, choosing reddit as the source, and setting your desired subreddits.
Muzei - [link]
It has lots of plugins that allow you to cycle through wallpapers from different sources like Reddit or Instagram. You can also cycle through your own of course.
AutoBackground - [link]
It's kinda like Muzei but with better functionality for your personal pictures. Some really neat effects and such. Also supports imgur gallerys, Google drive, Google photo, and other stuff.
Muzei and Muzei - Reddit for updating your watch face with top pics from reddit every so often
I tried activating it a few days ago before I got the case and could not. The wallpaper functions Very similarly to Muzei though, so that's an option if you'd like a blurred or not blurred slideshow of your images rotating after a set period of time.
I use Muzei! It scans subreddits for wallpapers and changes every 30mins. You also double tap empty space to bring the photo into and out of focus. Pretty cool stuff.
For wallpaper apps, Muzei with the reddit addon is great.
You can also easily do this with Muzei and Nasa image of the day extension.
Not OP, but I'm pretty sure s/he's using an app called Muzei. There's a plugin for it on the Play Store, which shuffles wallpapers from subreddits you choose, like /r/wallpapers or /r/earthporn.
Muzei with the Reddit extension has a better interface and fewer bugs.
I use a combination of Muzei and The Terra Collection for a rotating carousel of a bunch of high-res Google Earth satellite images (not unlike the Earth View for Chrome extension). It's pretty neat, and fits with the theme of this year's Nexus devices, whose stock wallpapers are Earth View images.
Link Me: Muzei
Link Me: The Terra Collection
OK, for Muzei: install this [link]
And this add-on (there's lots of others). Set it to your favorite subreddit, change the refresh rate, blur, and dim!
What I did was put them all in one folder and used Muzei and Folder for Muzei to rotate them daily. I love a fresh wallpaper waiting for me in the morning :)
I had Muzei for awhile ([link]). Installed Meter ([link]) a few weeks ago while I was still rocking my Nexus 5, liking it so far on my n5x.
I'm currently using Muzei with Reddit for Muzei to get pretty much the same effect with subreddits I pick
Does anybody know which is better? :p
If you have an Android phone, all you need is an app called Muzei and this extension to it. From there when you change your wallpaper to Muzei, you'll get a list of sources, choose the reddit extension you just download and choose your subs and refresh rate!
FractalPorn is the source via Muzei with the Reddit extension. It changes my wallpaper every 6 hours or however often you would like.
If you didn't know this, there is an app that allows you to pull photo submissions to specific subreddits and have them cycle through as your background wallpaper. You can set refresh intervals, toggle between NSFW posts ;) and add your own photos into the mix. Doesn't apply to this situation directly, but is extremely useful and uses minimal data & battery. App is Musei and the reddit extension to do the above is here.
I would recommend /r/tiltshift. Makes for awesome phone wallpapers.
Why not just use the standard wallpapers and let the phone use parallax scrolling?
I used to use all of these ones, coupled with Muzei.
Alternitivly you can use Muzei and the free Reddit extension to do it. You also have the option for more galleries, multiple subreddits, and a cool blur/darken effect on the picture that you can clear up by double tapping the wallpaper.
I don't have any specific wallpapers but you could try what I use which is muzei with the reddit plugin. You can set it to pick images from this sub and see what happens.
Muzei with the reddit plugin set to rotate between /r/earthporn and /r/spaceporn.
this is a bit off-topic so I'm sorry but this is a thread on wallpapers and material you so I figured I'd ask..
I don't have the beta currently, so could anyone answer if material you works with live wallpapers? I've been using Muzei for years as a way to have a rotating set of pictures as my wallpaper, but previously any 'color picker' type apps that supposedly grab colors from your wallpaper don't work with muzei (or presumably any live wallpaper) at all. Is Material You different, or will I be forced to either change away from muzei or not use material you?
Muzei live wallpaper.
It switches your wallpaper to a new piece of art everyday. If that isn't your thing you can have it choose the wallpaper from your own photos.
It cycles a work of art daily by default, but you can set it to use your own images or your whole gallery and change the interval too.
I recently installed Muzei with the Reddit plugin (Vitrina). You can configure the plugin to download a wallpaper from any sub you want, and even if it only reaches a set amount of upvotes.
I was previously using an IFTTT recipe for the same functionality.
You could try Muzei. It's open source and it does automatic changing of wallpapers in custom intervals. As for space porn, you can install an extension for Muzei that let's you set different subreddit images for wallpapers. for example, /r/spaceporn and the likes.
The top posts from r/EarthPorn, updated hourly.
This is doable on Android with Muzei and Vitrina.
Muzei a live wallpaper app that lets you pick from a variety of sources. Vitrina is a plugin for Muzei that lets you pick subreddits to grab images from. Both free!
(Shoutout to u/stoyck_dev for the awesome plugin)
Muzei is what I use. It doesn't have wallpapers, but it can rotate them etc, which is I think what you are asking. I also like it because it can dim and blur them as well
Here's my favorite customization thing:
Install Muzei. Install Vitrina (which is a Muzei plugin). In Vitrina add whichever image subreddits float your boat (I have /pic, /earthporn, /exposureporn, /spaceporn/, /skyporn, /itookapicture, /amoledbackgrounds), then it'll cycle wallpapers for you at whatever time interval you want. There are plenty of other plugins, and Muzei itself has art backgrounds, it's a really great app.
You can use muzei and any wallpaper app for this. Muzei could interchange between the walls from the app randomly. You could try my wallpaper app pixWalls if you want to
Try Muzei and its music plugin
I've created a plugin for the Android app "Muzei Live Wallpaper" that fetches astro photos from astrobin.com website. It's a ad-free app, where you can search for photos by subject, author and set wallpaper from the Image Of The Day. Here you can find out links for the apps:
Muzei Live Wallpaper: [link]
Muzei. Highly recommend it.
Famous artwork by default, but you can also specify a folder on your phone or even pull from other services via plugins.
I use Muzei with Muzei Earth View Wallpapers as the source.
For android Muzei.
And Reddit Muzei add-on to get images from subreddits.
So I think I figured out the app OP was talking about. Its call Muzei here with the reddit addon here
Hope this helps!
You might want to try Muzei instead of Wonderwall. It has options to blur and dim the background images and the home screen icons are much more visible and almost float above the background. There are many Muzei add-ons for adding new wallpaper sources.
Here's a link to the wallpaper app that auto sets it for you
And then there's a separate app for pulling the images from Reddit here:
You have to install the app along with its reddit extension. It was last updated in 2014 I think but it still works fine for me.
Yes there are many apps that can automatically change your wallpaper. Do it too frequently, though, and you'll drain your battery.
Muzei is a popular one.
You may want to check out muzei [link] if you are on Android. It has a reddit plugin [link]
You need Muzei live wallpaper [link]
With one of these addons, I haven't tried them so I don't know which works better
I'm looking for recommendations on solid "live wallpaper" apps, like Muzei, HexShaders and Tapet.
Doesn't have to be live as in animated, just live in the sense that it changes every so often.
Muzei will do this, it even has plugin support for various sources of wallpapers.
technically, this is not a live wallpaper but a wallpaper slideshow/auto-changer of sorts: Muzei
for animated ones, the nexus live wallpapers:
Phase Beam (blue)/Sun Beam (red) - essentially the same live wallpaper in different colors as indicated. these came with older nexus devices but their APKs can be found easily
Microbes - came with my first smartphone (Nexus S). APK is also floating around somewhere.
Nexus - this one shows colored dots/lines going horizontally/vertically across the screen. this one I am having trouble finding an original APK that will work on a recent non-rooted nexus
Muzei + Pluzei to cycle through Google Photos
I use muzei with the reddit plugin.
Do you know about Muzei? If not, you're welcome!
Use Muzei and the Reddit extension.
This app is pretty great. With the walls I posted, I have it randomly shuffle through them with no blur or dimming applied.
Well I can actually enjoy any gem I want by using these two apps:
Muzei Live Wallpaper
Muzei is what you're looking for.
Maybe you would like to try an app called Muzei.
It automatically puts the top posts of /r/spaceporn as my wallpaper.
Probably overkill just for one picture, but Muzei will do this. It's also a great app.
Screenshot of my current setup. double tap on the screen removes the blur from the background.
Background: Muzei + Reddit extension
Icons: FlatCons White
Using Nova Launcher. I also have an invisible button in the bottom right corner that opens Muzei if I want to open the wallpaper and get more info about it. I have mine setup to update every few hours only on WiFi and pulls from different subreddits. You can change the blur effect if you want as well. /r/EarthPorn and /r/spaceporn have a bunch of awesome wallpapers that I enjoy using.
Check out /r/androidthemes for more options.
I've enjoyed Muzei in the past. has a bunch of plugins too, like ones that will pull images from subreddits and whatnot.
Check out Amoleddit if you're on android. However, you're looking to change the wallpaper automatically every so often, I believe that can be done with Muzei and a reddit plugin for it.
You could try Muzei. There are a lot of extensions, just search on Google Play ;)
Why use this over Muzei which is open source and free on the Play Store?
/r/Amoledbackgrounds + Muzei + Muzei - Reddit
You can also try Walls for reddit to have the same.
Muzei is the app you need. It has tons of sources that you can use. Also has the blur feature that you mentioned.
I compiled stock wallpapers of different devices/ROMs - provided I can get them at resolutions of 1440x2560 or higher, put them in a Google Photos Album, then get a random one from the set daily via Muzei with the Pluzei extension
edit: for today, it's something off the HTC 10
And the Reddit plugin
Has redundant information in the widgets but I like the asthetics :)
Muzei it is an app that can shuffle background automagically. You can choose to load up a lot of your fav wallpapers in a folder and choose it as a source.
You can choose some sources for backgrounds like these
Muzei - Reddit
Muzei Bing Addon
Facets - with Muzei my fav. but is paid app.
You can use Muzei and, if you actually want to, use Pics from Reddit with it, but I'd recommend using one of the other great Muzei extensions or just the standard Muzei, it's pretty great already.
Muzei Live Wallpaper | 4.2 rating | Free | 1,000,000+ downloads | Search manually
> Muzei is a live wallpaper that gently refreshes your home screen each day with famous works of art. It also recedes into the background, blurring and dimming artwork to keep your icons and widgets in ...
There is a Reddit plugin, and I'm not sure, but probably there would be an Imgur one too.
Wallpaper by Harald Revery: link
I also use Muzei to rotate my wallpapers.
Icon pack: Light Void, and some custom icons I made in Gimp
Launcher: Nova Launcher
Weather widget: Yr, Norwegian weather service
Calendar widget: Agenda widget (you have to pay 2 dollars to remove an annoying ad from the top row)
Music/podcast widget: Ubiquity music widget
Muzei. It does exactly what you are describing.
Muzei + Muzei - Reddit set to /r/spaceporn or APOD Muzei?
Muzei is great for this
Muzei + it's music extension..
Not OP, but I know that one way is with Muzei
Check out Muzei Live Wallpaper. Might be what you're looking for.
Use Muzei with 500px AdvancedConfig for Muzei.
But you need this first (the other one is a plug-in)
Muzei Live Wallpaper has an Unsplash plugin, which is free & open source too.
Muzei might be what you're after.
You could also try Muzei!
And spread automatically to hundreds/thousands of phones automatically.
Muzei + Muzei Earth View. Enjoy!
I have 2 screens and they rotate between these images. Found them across the internet over time.
My work computer rotates through about 20 different game related images. I like my game related images not to have game logos so some are concept art, some are fan art and some others are character pictures/renders. ~~I'll post those too if you'd like~~ They're uploaded here.
My laptop rotates through the stock desktop images that OSX has.
My phone uses Muzei.
Yes, TMI and yes, I like rotating backgrounds haha!
100% no question it's Muzei
By default the app is set to blur/darken wallpapers, but you can set it to keep the photos asis. You can choose the time of rotation and the sources - you can use the provided art wallpapers or have it pull photos from NASA or even Reddit. There's a bunch of other "plugins" for different sources if you search on the Play Store.
You can also choose local files (which is what I am currently doing) and it will cycle through them - just a great app with tons of options imho a must have app by the same dev as Dashclock.
Probably Muzei with the reddit plugin.
I use Muzei and alternate between some of the (many) plugins: [link]
Here you go!
Not sure if you're kidding, but...
Muzei (recommended here constantly)
Not a drop-in replacement, but if you host photos on your Nextcloud server, and use Les Pas to manage your album, combined with Wallpaper app Muzei, photo you shot at exact the date in the past will show up as your Android phone's wallpaper.
Haven't used it in a while, but Muzei can do this.
I am currently using Muzei + MS Launcher: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.nurik.roman.muzei (launch muzei and click activate to set as wallpaper)
On past phones, I used Wallpaper Changer: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.j4velin.wallpaperChanger, but haven't tried on the Duo (Muzei is just fine).
Muzei is still one of my go-to options, which I usually use with some Studio Ghibli wallpapers.
I've not seen many of the movies, but the colour palettes are really nice.
Of course, Muzei also has a bunch of plugins available on Google Play. I could recommend one that lets you choose a subreddit, and one that gives you cool earth views.
Oftentimes with Muzei, I'll just find a picture that I like the general look of, and even if it's a shitty resolution, I'll use it with some slight blur and it can still look fine on a big screen.
I think Muzei is what you need.
Any recommendations for a caller id app to prevent spam? My last phone used the one built into the Google phone app and it worked pretty well, but my new phone (OP7) is incompatible.
The fewer information and permissions it asks, the better. I've read that some apps in the area are very shady and take every bit of information and sell it. So I'd like to avoid that as much as possible.
Also, I'd like to recommend a couple of apps:
WALLPAPER | Pexels
WALLPAPER CYCLING | Muzei
ICONS | Lines
WIDGETS | Made in KWGT
LAUNCHER | Nova Launcher
Here are some of the other backgrounds Muzei cycles between (all from Pexels).
Regarding NASA wallpapers and Bing wallpapers, you can achieve this with Muzei with this addon or this one
Noticed same thing a while ago. Decided to use Muzei as wallpaper.
Give this a try: Muzei
Have you tried Muzei app (Android)? Similar, but free.
Chirico - The Nostalgia of the Infinite
Gekko - Chrysanthemums by Stream
Grimshaw - Shipping on the Clyde
Durer - The Little Owl
Ciurlionis - Castle
Ciurlionis - Funeral Symphony IV
Most of them I found with the app Muzei. It gives you a new wallpaper every day and most of them are pretty good.
I assume you're asking for a recommendation. Muzei with the Reddit plugin (like this or this) may be what you are looking for.
Another option is Paper for Reddit.
Vi segnalo un pacchetto di 70 sfondi per schermi amoled [link]
e questa bellissima app, Muzei, che cambia ogni tot tempo lo sfondo [link]
su cui si può installare il plugin per recuperare le foto da vari subreddit [link]
Muzei with reddit plugin
Muzei can do it. Plus, it can use your wallpapers from Backdrops.
That is the plugin for the Musei app. It sets the wallpaper from your chosen subreddits.
I use an app called Muzei Live Wallpaper and use different plugins. The folder for muzei plugin should be able to access your personal files to rotate through, as well as set the time interval (every 30 mins, 1 hour, 1 day, etc)
if you want to set different parameters, there's also Taskei - Tasker for Muzei plugin that will hook into tasker, so that you can set different parameters on when to change (at midnight, when plugged in and charging, etc)
and just for fyi, other than the two plugins I mentioned above, the third most commonly used plugin that I personally use is Muzei - Reddit.
Muzei Reddit ext
I like mine pretty simple. For the background, I use Muzei to cycle through personally chosen images from the VSCO Grid every 3 hours.
At the bottom I keep my icons aesthetically pleasing and balanced with my app drawer button flanked by social media and frequently used mini drawers, instead of having a clutter of icons hiding the background.
Other things used:
Min Icon Pack
Zooper Widget Pro with MKBHD Clock
Nova Launcher Prime
Muzei. There's also a reddit extension that uses pictures from popular picture subs.
Another option is to use Muzei pointing to a dropbox folder.
Use Muzei and the Cast Images for Muzei plugin.
You can if you're jailbroken. There's a tweak called SnooScreens which does this. On Android, you can do it with Muzei and the Reddit plugin.
Muzei is a much better alternative in my book. That'd be my personal choice.
Muzei is also an awesome option.
I'd skip Tasker altogether and use Muzei. Terrific app.
Wallpaper : [link]
Icon pack : [link]
Check out Muzei if you're on Android.
You could try Muzei.
I blur and darken a famous painting as my background each day with what I still consider the essential LWP. [link]
Enjoy! And I can't help but also recommend Muzei just in case you've never come across it. It's another great live wallpaper.
Play store: [link]
Hmm. Your title says something different.
If you download Muzei you can select an unlimited amount and choose the interval.
Muzei is the one you're looking for.
Muzei lets you do this exactly.
Decided to finally post something here since I am in love with this wallpaper. Hope you enjoy my minimal neon theme
Muzei i believe.
Muzei! Very customizable. You can even have it switch between the top posts on subreddits like r/earthporn
I use my own pictures with the Muzei app. Really nice effects to make your own pictures the best wallpaper.
I'll check it out.
Link for anyone else reading.
you should be able to set it using muzei [link]
Note: this requires the Muzei wallpaper installed first: [link]
Klwp would be an option, but it's a little like using an atom bomb to crack a nut for your use case.
Muzei would be better
Background - check out Muzei, see if you like it. Can you your own pics or lots of sources/plugins too.
Passwords - you can look into Android's password sync, make sure it doesn't have all you're wanting already...I'm not too familiar with either tbh, but know Android OS has autofill baked in now.
Double-tap sleep/wake (aka DT2S or DT2SW in Androidville) - nothing now but lots of ROMs add these types of options...eventually. Hurry up and wait for now. XDA will be the best resource for this kinda stuff.
Reddit - I didn't look at your referenced app, but I and many others love Boost, very customizable UI/UX.
Automation - some system stuff may be limited without root, but check out geofencing automation offered in Llama, Automate or Trigger.
Calendar - look for the 3 dot menu (some call them meatball or shiskabob menu) and find Manage Calendars, more sure all is turned on there. Sometimes, if things are configured after adding a widget, you may need to re-add the widget or just toggle those calendars off/on to pickup the new changes.
I personally love Muzei.
The Live Wallpapers from the Pixel 2 also look great on the S7.
Also, you can download the Samsung live wallpaper app here to set live wallpapers to your lockscreen
I've been using Muzei for years with the NatGeo plugin.
Nevermind. Looks like I can do it with Muzei:
Not the greatest interface, but it works.
> It's a shame you can't do the same for the main wallpaper
Really great program u/rawns!!
Had some problem when added a secondary monitor and have the validate wallpaper size option selected, but already saw in a previous post from you that it doesn't work.
I'd like to suggest multi-monitor support (same for all monitors, spread on all monitors or different one per monitor) and I see it's on your todo-list already. I've seen that u/laptopdude90 said he wanted to implement this functionality when he said he took over the project, but that's already 9 months ago. I'm not sure if there is anything useful in his code in github yet?
I also saw you maybe wanted to port it to Android. I think this is only a good idea if you want to do this for your own fun. As you said you can do it by IFTT already, but even a better way would be using Muzei with reddit plugin. Just to give you a head's up and maybe spare you some time for other amazing thing.
Keep up the good work!
Why if there is Muzei?
Wallpaper - Muzei + reddit with /r/Verticalwallpapers as source
Launcher - Nova Launcher Prime
Clock and music player - KWGT
Icon Pack - LINES
Theres a great android app which I use called Muzei which changes your wallpaper dependent on selected sources,
one of which can be reddit through use of this.
Install Muzei first then the reddit source, launch muzei and select the source, and customize the reddit source for the subreddits you're after.
Hope this helps.
Why not instead use Muzei with the Reddit extension? I'll bet it's more reliable, along with an easier interface (especially if you want more than /r/EarthPorn).
Something like Muzei?
You can also use Muzei with the Muzei reddit addon.
This is all running on an Honor 8.
Wallpaper: Muzei folder with these
Icons are Cryten.
I'm currently using Nova Launcher's paid version.
Muzei and its extensions. Basically an app to change your phone wallpaper dynamically using various sources, like Reddit. Totally free!
I also love Leap Day from Nitrome. Simple jumping game with lots of different enemies and a new level every day. Also for free!
You need Muzei in order to use this is just a plugin !
Combine Muzei with the reddit extension, set it to subs like earthporn, winterporn, exposureporn and customize Muzei to not blur the images, but just dim them a little to improve contrast on the home screen. Set it to a rotation time you like (i.e. 60 minutes) and enjoy nice rotating wallpapers.
It looks great and I love it.
Download Muzei, set to backgrounds folder, gg
Launcher: Lenovo Launcher
Wallpaper: Muzei Live Wallpaper with Muzei Music Extender
The wallpaper changes depending on the album art of the current song playing.
If you're on android, there is an app called Muzei which allows you to automate the changing of your background from a number of sources. My background is always National Geographic's photo of the day.
Muzei also has this function.
I just personally use Muzei to have changing wallpapers. Nifty app, plus you can use wallpapers from subreddits using an extension.
You'll need the Muzei Wallpaper and the Muzei music extension. Set the wallpaper to both lock and home screen. When music is playing you'll get the album cover on the lock screen.
There's also a muzei tasker extension, so because i wanted to use a different extension i had to also set up tasker functionality to change it to a different extension when music wasn't playing.
How To Set Up
Muzei Music Extension
Personally I use the app Muzei with the pics for reddit extension. Free and works wonderfully.
I used Muzei, don't ask me how to pronounce it, I've had it for a year and still don't know how and This
Muzei uses images from Reddit, NASA and other places.
Copy pasting from a few days ago
>A while ago I found an app called Muzei it allows you to automatically change your wallpaper after a given amount of time from a predefined source. With the reddit extension you can link this to any subreddit you like.
>Now I found something similar for Windows desktops. You can enter your favorite subreddits and an update interval.
I am not related to any of these applications, I just like them a lot and thought I would share :)
Just use muzei with the Reddit extension.
I've been using Muzei
It comes with a default art feed, but there are also a bunch of great plugins for it, including:
A suggestion, download Muzei Live Wallpaper. Within that app, you can select the CandyCons pack and it will let you cycle through all of it's wallpaper based on whatever time increment you set.
EDIT: I added a slight blur to the wallpaper. That can be done through Muzei.
I use the app Muzei. It gives me a new wallpaper periodically. I use a NASA extension to get the NASA pic of the day so I don't have it anymore.
TL;DR Here you go.
Muzei with the Reddit plugin may be right up your alley. It's extensible, so chances are there's an extension for you that'll do what you need.
Muzei - Reddit (extension for Muzei app)
My bad, Muzei Live Wallpaper is the app, the other is an extension allowing you to use load images from reddit
Blur Features, 3 Hours, 6, 12 and 24 time changer! This should do it!
Use Muzei for a while and love it!
Muzei is great if you want to cycle through wallpapers. Can also be linked to subreddits to pull top posts.
Base is also a good source for wallpapers.
I use Muzei live wallpaper with Muzei-Reddit. You can pick any subreddit to cycle pictures from.
This is what I roll with. I use Muzei with the Earth View plugin as my background, which changes the clock widget to match colors, and a transparent weather timeline widget right beneath.
Muzei is really good, I've never noticed any significant battery changes using it.
Thanks Muzei, for setting this as my wallpaper!
Muzei Live Wallpaper is a free and useful personalization app ;) [link]
Muzei can do that.
So, last year I found a big list of these on another sub and posted the link on minus.com. Since then, the link is dead, but a user DID grab all the photos (and they were HI RES) and zipped them all.
Pick the movie you like and you can have some sweet, sweet backgrounds.
Bonus: if you're looking for android backgrounds download Muzei Live Wallpaper and use the add on Muzei Ghibli. There are over 300 photos on there and they will cycle through on your phone quite nicely. I've been using it for a few years.
I think muzei can do this. If not, I know Tasker can but it's somewhat complicated.
I like Wallmax and Muzei, both are apps in play store.
And this plugin for it
Get Multimuze extension, then add others. Earth View is amazing, it takes pictures from Google Earth.
Muzei + Terra means you'll always have really high quality google earth images.
Muzei and Terra
Muzei for android if anyone is interested and also you can add third party extensions other sources.
Just an FYI - Muzei Live Wallpaper looks pretty similar to this.
Source: I use it and it's great!
If I may suggest: Muzei
I've been using Muzei with the 500px plugin for a while.
It looks like the watch face that comes with Muzei to me. [link]
this is muzei for reference
Dont know if this counts but I love Muzei, some really beautiful wallpapers and android wear integration as well.
Is it possible to work like Muzei(android app: [link]) where the application is extensible and people/other devs can add different sources to pull images from?
Use Muzei with the reddit extension to get wallpapers that cover all homescreens. I use it and have it change the wallpaper daily from /r/EarthPorn, /r/spaceporn and many others.
Depends on the wallpaper. If it's one that has moving images and other crap, then yeah. If it's something like Muzei that intermitendly rotates your wallpaper with internet sources, it's hardly noticeable. I use Muzei every day and regularly get 3.5-4 hours SOT.
So, as promised. Here is the Zooper Widget file for my recreation of this theme. I used Muzei for the blurred background. And my icon pack is Min.
Screenshot of my recreation.
Yep, Muzei & the Reddit plugin will do this.
I use Muzei as a wallpaper picker with the Muzei Ghibli add on. I get beautiful backgrounds from the Studio Ghibli films, all scaled perfectly in great resolution, and I have it so the wallpaper changes every day. I absolutely love it, I highly suggest you check it out, I haven't looked back.
edit: added link to the Studio Ghibli add on
I use Muzei and Muzei - Reddit for my wallpaper on my Android phone with /r/AnimalPorn being the only subreddit source. Between the bee and spider pics I'm becoming quite frightened once every twelve hours (the frequency at which my wallpaper changes). Great shots though.
If you want to use it to it's full potential, I encourage you to get Muzei and set nowPaper as your source. This allows the wallpaper to cyle with the time of day, and you get a randomize option or 4K option as well.
For a simple solution just use
I know this is windows phone, but for anyone using Android that is like this, You'll love Muzei.
Muzei works very well and you can add other modules to it for a ton of options. I personally use dropzei which is a Dropbox link and I have a massive collection of wallpapers on there! you can find it here!
You'll need to download this app [link] and this app [link] .After that go to wallpapers and select muzei. Make sure you change your source to bing and all check the customization settlings to apply a blur or tint effect ( I personally set them both to 0 because I like seeing the wallpaper unfiltered).
Muzei is a live wall paper app that automatically changes ones wall paper. It does not have native Tasker support, however, the Taskei Plugin was made for this purposeThe relevant post A link tothe Muzei playstore link. Download and install Muzei
Download and install the Pics From Reddit Extension
Edit the subreddits section to pull in pictures from /r/ManchesterUnitedMuzei as well as /r/reddevils
no, IFTTT is a very powerful engine, Muzei is merely a wallpaper app that can load random pieces of artwork, or pics from subreddits or APOTD from Nasa. check it out, nthing special, just a wallpaper app:
Dropzei for Muzei: [link]
I use the same app! I have it pull from spaceporn, skyporn, and Furry.
And it mirrors to smartwatch! [link]
Muzei app [link]
Reddit addon: [link]
I use Muzei combined with this to get random pictures from reddit as my wallpaper.
Muzei livewallpaper with the reddit plugin set to /r/earthporn and /r/spaceporn, changes every hour.
I always liked Muzei for my wallpaper changer, I liked the fact I could set it up to sync to subreddits like /r/EarthPorn (SFW) or /r/AbandonedPorn (SFW)
Try a wallpaper app like Muzei.
And FYI, screensavers are for PCs. Your phone homescreens with wallpapers as the background.
it's still shit because it's not working with live wallpapers — I use Muzei + Backdrops + Tasker to change the wallpaper everytime the screen goes off. But the accent colours don't change despite the wallpaper colour changing.
