Yes, Pearl didn't have that outfit back then. Yes, The Art of War wouldn't be nearly as thick. I'm doing the best I can, ~~Steven~~ guys!
Haha, the game is like a "canon-ish" version of all those "HERE'S MY ORIGINAL CHARACTER DON'T STEAL, SHE JOINS THE CRYSTAL GEMS AND SHE'S AWESOME" fan fics/arts.
BTW, I downloaded the game from here as it's not available in my country. Works perfect! Got the link from the whole Pokemon GO debacle so it should be trustworthy.
EDIT: Remember to download the game from the play store once it launches in your country to get updates.
Start with Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood. The show follows the line of a men in the Joestar family. Every one of their names begin with a "Jo" in their name. Thus, they all get the name, "Jojo"
"Jonathon Joestar"
"Joseph Joestar"
"Jotaro Kujo(still a Joestar)"
etc
Anyhow, Phantom Blood is where you start. It's available on Amazon if you wish to see it streamed.
Edit: names
Also a link to the Amazon version so you can support the official release.
"Pierre" definitely means "stone" in French. "Pietro" is the Italian equivalent of "Peter", just like "Pierre" is in French, both coming from Latin "petrus" also meaning stone or rock. "Pietra" is the Italian word for stone.
Of course, there are more Lapidot moments in the comic. I won't be posting these, out of respect for the creators of this issue.

Grab a pencil and wave it up and down a few inches. You've got to hold the pencil lightly enough so that it will see-saw back and forth a bit as you move your hand up and down. But, it will appear to wobble like rubber. I think it works best if you hold the pencil, very close to the middle, but just off center a bit.
DAMN YOU FOR ALREADY HAVING IT!
Hurry up amazon!
I suppose Ill be back when I get it
Also to anyone who wants to buy it but is unsure of it cause of pricing, its nine bucks on amazon
Edit I got it!
PSA: Due to COVID-19, Sling TV is currently free, so anyone in the US can legally watch the finale tonight live on Cartoon Network! You don’t even need to give them a credit card! Make a free account, give them your zip code, and you’re ready to start watching live.
Text seems to be from https://www.thebookdesigner.com/2010/02/3-ways-self-publishers-fail-at-cover-design/ so it might be this book specifically or something else from the author? https://www.amazon.com/Self-Publishers-Ultimate-Resource-Guide-Professional/dp/0936385383/
Fun fact: The reason this episode is so gorgeous is that it's inspired by the work of Lotte Reiniger
Gameplay wise its nothing inspired, but the writing, characters and soundtrack are great. The writing definitely would appeal to people who like the message of love that is Steven Universe. Also $10 http://undertale.com/
Also goat mom.
I strongly recommend it
Its difficult to have a debate or discussion with a certain subset of the fandom. The fanatic "true hardcore fans" of show are so heavily invested in Steven Universe being the greatest thing ever that they have sank their very identity into the show. When any criticism suggested, constructive or not, is taken by them as earth shattering events and personal attacks.
It should have never gotten to the point of the "true hardcore, casuals fuck off, fans" of the show to bully storyboard artists on social media. It should have never gotten to the point of those fans harassing other fans for creating fanart of a white Connie, or a genderbent Crystal Gems, or a thin Smoky Quartz. It's almost as if this subset of fans didn't even watch the source material they are so desperately defending. I try not to let this 1% of the fandom taint my view of the other 99% but it's difficult sometimes when you see some of the mean spirited and down right horrifying things said.
I won't put all the blame on just this small percentage of fans. Cartoon Network probably should have released some sort of statement implying that this behavior is not okay. Wizard of the Coast recently delt with a rather nasty case of cyber bullying in the Magic the Gathering community. It's reassuring that WoTC has our backs in times like this.
I agree that Steven Universe is an amazing show even life changing for some of us but at the end of the day it's a children's cartoon and there is little reason to work yourself into such a righteous fervor over it. Watch the show, love the show, hate the show, praise the show, criticize the show, and by all means discuss and debate the show but please do so without becoming a "true hardcore fan." The less of those around the better.
A pretty famous manga series that's spawned so many memes you've probably used some of them yourself without realizing it.
It's had a resurgence recently as a rather brilliant anime adaptation finally came out a couple of years ago.
This post is parodying a rather iconic scene from the second season of the anime, which was basically the first thing a lot of people thought of when they first saw Yellow Diamond in the extended OP. It's suspected this was an intentional nod.
The Abacus reminds me of this short story that I read about "The Wheel" as a parenting tool. [edit: it's a rather dark story]
Pearl Steals a Tater Tot >Pearl accidentally leaves the Beach City Breadbasket with a package of tater tots she didn't pay for. It doesn't go well for her.
I got it from Amazon. Literally ordered it yesterday and got it today. (Still trying to cancel the now-backordered, more expensive purchase I made from the WB shop.)
There There, I did a thing:
> $ montage -mode concatenate -tile 8x -background Transparent tumblr_*.png peri8.png
I don't care about composition, it took me one line to do it.
All hay Discount Supervillain !!!
You can find Ube Powder on Amazon or if you're lucky and have an asian market, you might be able to find it.
> I really need to learn how to draw
It's mostly practice! If you want lots of resources you can check this out, or if that's a bit too much of a flood of information and you'd prefer having just one resource to work through in order, google for "Fun with a Pencil", a book by Andrew Loomis -- I think there is still a version available online.
This is the only thing I could find... :(
EDIT: Apparently they were bullied off the internet because of a ship they had. They got death threats and hate mail so they deleted their internet presence.
Me too when I first saw it. For those who know Spanish, u/koshernova did an interview with a translator for SU. They do their best for the pittance they get paid, I guess.
EDIT: Found it!. Most of it is an English dissertation on the analysis of how songs in SU are translated, but there is a Spanish-language interview with one of the translators for the show at the end of the paper that mentions the low pay.
Source, pumpkindall, seems to have deleted their blog, and reverse image search or text search did not help. Found it here.
This is from the newest issue of the Steven Universe comic. You can find them in comic stores but, lacking that, I tend to use Comixology.
This issue had some particularly adorable Peridots.
RECOMMENDATIONS (Feels Edition)
Crosswalk -- Done by our own /u/Pickardie . Pretty interesting premise here too. Lars accidentally gets hit by a car, ends up in the hospital where Dr. Priyanka Maheswaran (aka Connie's mom) is the one who examines him. From there, it shows her and Lars continuing to interact and delves a lot into what Lars's life outside of what we see on the show is actually like ...
This story is excellent. It really surprised me with how much I liked it. If you've read some of my stuff, you can probably figure out I really like throwing characters together who, under normal circumstances, would not interact with each other, so the premise already had me on board just with having Connie's mom and Lars being the focus. But the execution of it was extremely good. Both Lars and Priyanka are very much in-character, makes them both very likable without ignoring some of their personality flaws we see in the show, and it ends up telling a very emotional story that ends up being very sweet. I cannot recommend this enough. Amazing work.
Why Don't You Hate Me? -- Full disclosure, this is one of my own so take this for the shameless self-promotion it is, heh. It's a story about Pearl and Greg that takes place in their younger years, before Steven came into the picture. The premise ... well, the first two lines of the fanfic probably convey that better than I could through summary:
"Greg woke up in the middle of the night to see Pearl sitting next to him, already glaring when he opened his eyes.
She was holding a sword."
Without giving too much away, it ends up being a short, emotional story between the two of them. Not a long story, but one I'm very proud of. If it seems like your kind of thing, check it out.
I'm the artist, and I might make more stuff like this in the future. I used GraphicsGale for Sapphire and it's a lot of fun to work in.
Here's my tumblr if you're interested.
Try these, you can get very very detailed with them: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B004SZ0YYU/

I think it looks great, and as for advice regarding thinking you can't draw, I'll leave this quote from Rebecca Sugar
'YOU HAVE NOT MISSED YOUR TIME!!!
Go go go! Draw every day! It is NEVER too late!
Here are books I used to improve, when I was 19.
Andrew Loomis, Figure Drawing for All It's Worth
David Chelsea, Perspective for Comic Book Artists
Draw the people around you! Study perspective, draw people STANDING ON THE GROUND, that is so important! Draw with no fear! Print out the kinds of drawings you like, and try to figure out why you like them, there must be a reason, and whatever it is, learn to do it! Don't be afraid to do bad drawings, they have no power over you, you can just throw them out! "
I'm not an artist but I've had this quote saved since her AMA. I think Rebecca would be elated if she saw this post.
Episodes take around 9 months to be made. Here’s a story from NPR about the process you might fiend interesting. It’s about regular show but the process is still the same.
But yeah like the others said it’s not the production time that’s causing this hiatus. The next season has been finished forever.
Sidenote: It appears there's ANOTHER ONE
This is from BOOM! comics' Steven Universe Issue 4, in which the plot does indeed revolve around Steven using Lion as a taxi service, and is available online here: https://www.comixology.com/Steven-Universe-4/digital-comic/164138 You can also get physical copies of the comics but I don't have links to those off the top of my head.
Steven Universe comics can be found at your local comic book store. If you don't live near such a store or your LCBS doesn't carry them, you can buy them digitally from Comixology.com.
New issues cost $3.99 each, while old issues get discounted to $1.99 two months after they've been released, it seems.
Woohoo, return of the barn! Also, I just lost a game monopoly because of an unfair deal between siblings. Speaking of unfair bourgoise deals, here's a crack fic of the gems trying to have a marxist revolution.
>yfw when you realize Story for Steven showed a one-night stand that led to a pregnancy
okay, look, maybe we just have different accents or something? But in a west coast American accent, I can guarantee you they are pronounced the same.
Your pronunciation would imply that "in" and the "Ste" in Steven have the same vowel, yeah? They definitely don't. "Ste" is pronounced with a long "e" (like in beet) while "in" is pronounced with what I would call a short "i" (like the "i" in dip).
"Steven" is pronounced literally like "Steve" followed by "in." But I literally only have to point you to like, this video where Pearl says it that way a kajillion times. And here's a recording of someone saying "in."
So yeah, they're definitely pronounced the same and therefore rhyme.
It is on Hulu. If you have a VPN it shouldn't be a problem if it supports streaming it, though not all of them do IIRC. I personally use NordVPN for Hulu and US Netflix. And you also should be able to sign up for Hulu using an American zip code while connected to the US too.
[???] not to mention Percy is adept at aquatic sports. He would have won the canoe race if he weren't so busy drooling over Paulette, and the other part where Percy goes to the bottom of the lake to get Paulette's friendship bracelet proved that if he weren't so worried about [???] the entire camp. And Pierre is a force to be reckoned with on land, when he [???] That's all I got. Here's my edit of the original rant: http://www.filedropper.com/peridotrantslow
It really is. u/koshernova posted her research thesis on the process of translating SU songs into Spanish a couple months ago. Great read.
Actually, here's the answer to your question about Pearl being physically unable to tell anyone the truth about Pink Diamond.
https://tinyurl.com/JohnJohnstonTumblr
Joe Johnston (a previous storyboard artist for the show) says here that all Pearls are programmed to obey their masters, and that it's a function of how they work. So my guess is that Pearls are physically unable to defy their masters, since it's their programming to serve and obey.
Recommendation (Grief Double Feature):
Something To Live For -- When they were 15, Steven died. This brief fic (< 2,000 words) picks up a few years later with Connie coping with the loss. This is a fic about working through grief and and finding hope on the other side of tragedy. It's poignant but with purpose, and I like how efficiently the fic progresses. Bonus points for some especially well-written dialogue between Connie and Pearl.
Clouds -- Connie is killed during a confrontation with Peridot (in this fic Catch and Release never happens). Now Steven has locked himself in Rose's room and the Gems are deeply divided on what to do with Peridot's bubbled gem. Unlike "Something To Live For", "Clouds" takes place during the immediate aftermath of the tragedy so the emotions on display are raw and intense. This is also an ongoing piece (the third chapter was recently added) that looks like it is about more than just coping with an untimely death. It looks promising and the fic does a good job of being intense without being shocking, which is a classy way of handling the subject matter. Worth reading over.
it kind of looks like this mug but then with stickers on it:

if this isn't it then I couldn't find it I'm sorry
If you want an inexpensive drawing tablet, I use a Wacom Bamboo CTL471 which is like $70 and pretty good quality for that price
Edit: Amazon link
It's listed on on Amazon with what looks like an incorrect description (about a Donut Dough Down in Empire City, which I assume is another issue's synopsis) and on Simon & Schuster, not sure how reliable that makes it
"'If fighting is sure to result in victory, then you must fight!' Sun Tzu said that, and I'd say he knows a little more about fighting than you do, pal, because he invented it, and then he perfected it so that no living man could best him in the ring of honor. Then, he used his fight money to buy two of every animal on earth, and then he herded them onto a boat and then he beat the crap out of every single one. And from that day forward any time a bunch of animals are together in one place it's called a 'zoo'! Unless it's a farm!" -Rose Quartz talking to Pearl after reading "The Art of War"
Sure, here's a link.
This is just the code so feel free to take a look. To use it simply install Python 3.4 (from the bottom of this page) and then put a shortcut to autochange.pyw into your Windows startup folder and you'll be good to go. I think it only works on Windows 8 and Windows 10 for now (because that's what I have).
For custom images you must name images as follows: a number (representing how often that image should show up, with higher numbers meaning more often), an underscore and one or more tags which correspond to different times of day (sunrise, day, sunset and night) all separated by underscores. Having multiple tags means an image could show up for any one of them however it will have the same chance of showing up for all of its tags, so you need duplicate images for different probabilities at different times. If a file name is taken you can add one or more extra zeroes to the front of a filename and it will still work.
It's this stuff!
Sure, it's not quite as good as the real stovetop edition, but for a poor/broke college student with 3am munchies working on an essay? oh my fucking god I ate so much of this stuff.
Just replace 'guy' with 'man', I'm a Lil upset on how long it took me.
Squad memes (aka: draw your squad) are redrawn pictures of a group of friends from a reference photo. Usually the photos depict people doing either hilarious or confusing things. Here's an example tag.
I always assumed Rainbow Quartz in "warrior mode" would look like a Greek Hoplite. What with the large shield and spear after all. Although, all other fusions have had they're weapons combined as opposed to having them both I guess.
My friend sent her to me. She was a SDCC exclusive! You can find them on amazon and ebay now pretty easily though. https://www.amazon.com/Steven-Universe-Exclusive-Plushie-sticker/dp/B073X8QXK6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1529092461&sr=8-1&keywords=lapis+plush
A safe bet would probably be something similar to the designs for the Earth colony.
However, I'd like to see it as a huge orbital construction like a ringworld around homeworld's star, likely constructed out of the (now missing) planetary bodies from the system.
You're not dumb because someone misrepresented themselves to you. It's kinda frustrating that people do stuff like this. I'm not sure what's in it for them. You're not the only person they gave that kind of weird braggy advice to either--their entire activity on this subreddit is basically finding ways to steer the conversation into any excuse to claim they worked there and talk about it in vague and empty terms, which seems . . . honestly super odd behavior for a professional animator established in a career for nine years. I went after them for demonstrably tracing someone else's art on another post and they had a super weird meltdown (like, raging that I must want them to quit their job and be homeless if I don't like their traced art) after lying that the original artist they copied gave them permission to copy it. It doesn't read like the behavior of an adult, much less a professional in the industry.
If you're interested in the actual artist of that board test, and want to see the really awesome entire slideshow, another couple of kind Redditors told me where it was. Here's the link. The person who's been lying to us kept insisting that they cannot confirm their position on the show in the credits or say exactly who they are because they do not give their real name out on the internet, but the real artist of that board frame has their professional portfolio, social media, and artist identity wherever they post their art. They've been an intern at CN but not for SU, and this was their test they took while working there which did not result in a job on the show, so it's clear what the truth is.
Looks like they renamed it to: Sherman Goes to Space with his Family - Uber Time Adventures for Guys and Girls - A Top Fun Kids Game
Couldn't find the original. Looks like it was renamed by copyright problems.
...Wait a minute SINCE WHEN DID THEY MAKE A GAME ON THE CN WEBSITE.
That's misleading. They were built by conscripted laborers (which we would consider slaves); they weren't built by the foreign slaves with a scowling Egyptian overseer that occupies the popular imagination, but the laborers who built the pyramids did so because their government forced them to. See eg. here for details. The idea that they were "paid laborers" or that their labor was in any way voluntary is absurd and shows a total disconnect from the conditions of the ancient world.
More importantly, as that link above points out, the idea that the pyramids were built by some sort of free happy Egyptians willingly donating their labor (or being paid like modern laborers) is something that is heavily pushed by the Egyptian government for nationalist reasons; since they control access to the pyramids, it's natural that they would be able to skew coverage that way.
The second one comes out on the 27th! You can purchase the comics on Comixology or try to find them in stores, though I'm still a little fuzzy on how the release schedule goes for physical copies.
There are indeed comics! The scene here is from Issue 4 of 8 (so far, they're still making them), and all are available for purchase digitally here: https://www.comixology.com/Steven-Universe/comics-series/23179?ref=Y29taWMvdmlldy9kZXNrdG9wL2JyZWFkY3J1bWJz
Give me some recs, and I'll put them on there. The only one I'm reading is Just a Normal Coffee Shop, although I've heard good things about the Connie Swap series as well.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Bad Girl Brushstrokes -- Once again, full disclosure, this is one of my stories. This takes place a short while after the flashback in "We Need to Talk." Amethyst tells Greg she thinks Vidalia has been acting very strange and asks Greg to talk to her. Being a good friend to Amethyst, he agrees even though he doesn't know much about Vidalia really. What quickly follows is a pretty emotionally intense conversation that shows Greg there is a lot more to Vidalia than he originally realized. Really proud of this one since I really like Vidalia and feel like she doesn't always get enough spotlight, so it was really fun to write what she was like in the "Young Greg" era. Pretty dramatic, but I like to think it ends on a pretty sweet note too. If it sounds like your thing, I hope you check it out :) [Also want to again give thanks to /u/LonelyTurret182 for beta reading again and being a big help]
REQUESTS
Something with Blue Diamond's Pearl being shipped with ... well anyone who ISN'T Blue Diamond ...
Something that portrays Lapis as being a villain.
(Really wish I had more recommendations this week but most of the stuff I read during my blind fanfic dives this week didn't stand out enough for me to give a hard recommendation, hoping to have some more come next week. Sorry guys :( )
See sidebar:
>You can also stream the episode by using the official Cartoon Network website if you have a cable provider, and Sling TV by Dish Network if you don't. They're both official!
Discussion of any unofficial methods isn't allowed on this sub as per the rules. Sorry 'bout that.
Nah... I wouldn't try and do an edit on an existing game. You might thing "Oh, the work is done, we don't have to do anything", but frankly, you're far less likely to understand what's going on and make feature changes (e.g. adding fusion). Particularly given that this isn't a terribly complicated game system (by game standards, turn-based is pretty simple; doesn't have to be terribly performant). Additionally, it avoids the additional legal issue of illegally reusing code, in addition to the potential to get Cease-and-desisted for everything else, and Nintendo is far more litigious than I'd suspect Rebecca Sugar and Cartoon Network to be... I mean, Nintendo just shut down like 500 fan made games in the last month.
I would, instead, suggest using a base designed for simple 2D game programing. Godot Engine is open source, runs on every OS, and can port to mobile easily. I'd highly recommend using it (and some form of version control, you've got a fairly good sized group willing to get involved from the looks of it already). It is also (and this is very important) entirely free.
Order it from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08JDTP2F1/
Cheaper than the WB shop and faster shipping. I'm really grumpy about how the WB handled my order. I'm still trying to get that order canceled, but every time I email them I get a bounceback saying the mailbox is full.
I buy the episodes on Amazon. I think itunes has them as well.
Yours is set at 6:30 PM, while the episode is at 6:00. Here's a corrected version. There was an edit button on the site, so I used it.
I'd say the saddest fic I've written that would fit as an actual episode (e.g. focuses primarily on Steven, more plot driven than more just side character moments) is Putting It Back Together. Premise: Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl forget everything that happened from the past 15 years. They have to work with Steven to get those memories back.
It was written early season 2, so obviously kind of out of date now, but getting right into that grief for Rose Quartz was fun.
Book 1: Lapis and Peridot find a baby bird, Steven helps them raise it.
Book 2: Kiki and Stevonnie go to Prom.
Book 3: FOOD TRUCKS
Book 4: Steven and the Gems go to Ren Faire!
Book 5: Day in the life of Lion
This is one of my favorite fan comics, it's slowly but steadily updated and the creator does everything they can to stay consistent with the show lore and history.
There's also a boatload of Blue and Yellow mom fanfics, but none I've found yet of that are as great as AWPS.
Link to /u/koshernova's thesis for those interested. It's awesome that we have redditors like ya'll, proving that cartoons are not mere children's entertainment, they are legitimate and socially important stories!
While I [hopefully] have ya'lls attention, what are your thoughts on MLP and the Brony movement's impact on gender perceptions?
It's from the first Steven Universe graphic novel, "Too Cool For School." You can get it at your local comic shop or digitally at comixology.
The Comixology digital version is now showing an April release as well, though they're showing it as even later.
Yes, yes, yes, TheBlindBandit/OathkeeperOfTarth does excellent work. Excellent PearlRose all around.
She also writes very closely with another of my favourite SU authors, DrJekyl. One of my favourites of hers is "Paging Dr. Nerd Love", about Pearl going to Greg on advice on how to date Mystery Girl.
"Steven is back from a three-week family vacation to find Connie in a funk. The pair head up to Lighthouse Park for a picnic where Steven intends to find out what he missed and help his forlorn friend."
New to Connieswap? Check out the archive!
I find it's easy to single out where it came from and go from there. Seeing as how SU is pretty popular on tumblr, I search for links leading to tumblr and avoid tags. It's hard to find images on tags, so specific blogs can be easier, especially if you get linked to a reblog of it.
Also, if you ever suspect that the image came from a Japanese artist but couldn't find it on tumblr, saucenao is a great place for sourcing things to Pixiv, which is a popular site for fanart made by Japanese people. It's mostly anime and manga art, but fanart for other things is posted there as well.
from this article that interviews susan bennett about her work as well as the advances in technology that led to the development of siri:
"Apple never admitted that Susan was Siri’s voice, they never paid her beyond the hourly wage in the recording booth, and then–they dropped her. From the iOS7 onwards, all of the original Siri voices were replaced on new iPhones."
there's another really good interview with her and discussion about how our relationship with technology has evolved over time on this podcast. they also mention that different voices have been used since 2013.
RECOMMENDATIONS (x-posted from /r/StevenUniverseFanfic)
Something about Roommates and Girlfriends -- Summary: Nope, nope, nope, cut that train of thought off before it leaves the station. This girl was taken. This was Amethyst’s girlfriend. She wasn’t even Lapis’s type--far, far from it. So what if they can talk for hours together about some dumb TV show? Lapis was still working through some issues from her last breakup anyway.
So I'm gonna be straight up: I'm usually not the biggest fan of college/human AU stories. Not to say I dislike the idea because it's actually quite the opposite. I've seen a few really good college AU comics, but ficwise, I haven't run into many that had a hook that lured me in.
This one does right away.
First off, it's really funny. Despite everyone being human, every characters personalities are dead on to canon. Special mention has to be made to Peridot though, who is just as big a nerd as her canon-self right down to her speech patterns and it still totally works.
Second, the idea of a Peridot/Amethyst/Lapis love triangle is a pretty interesting one and ... honestly I don't think I've seen it explored as much as you'd think people would go for it. And the way it's played out so far is very true to all their personalities, it all flows very naturally, and since I actually genuinely like all the characters, I'm a little interested to see how this plays out because conflicts where you actually like both sides makes for great drama.
It shows a lot of promise from just this first chapter (despite a few technical errors, most noticibly shifting from past to present tense a little bit in the first half) and I really can't wait to see where it goes. Well worth a look even if you don't usually care for college AUs.

RES is the Reddit Enhancement Suite. It has a lot of customization options to make Reddit more convenient for whatever you want to do. You do stuff like edit your dashboard, add on themes, create filters for content, and create tags for people and keep track of the karma you've given them. It's really neat, especially for people who are typically lurkers like you and me.
Im not quite on board with this, as it seems to go against some of what makes connie herself, but if this is true...
Dr. maheswaran is shown to be a fairly prodigious doctor in the medicinal fields, with a large amount of the show spent talking about how all the other doctors rely on her skill and intelligence. She works in a hospital that has in the past been shown to attempt to treat Gem individuals and has had those patients, for a time, subdued. Gems themselves have been shown to be comparatively easy to break, so it isnt a stretch to assume that a modern hospital would have the facilities to do so. There is already the theory that Dr. Mahasewaren is a gem, so it wouldnt be the biggest stretch to assume that over time, this gem-mom has been giving her daughter some flintstone gem vitamin supplements from some of the cluster gems.
found it. I'm not even sure if it's bootleg or legit. I don't see anything implying CN licensed this nor is it on the CN webpage, but it's also using the CN logo (very easy way to get DMCA'd if they don't have permission).
That's actually the hero from Ian Jones-Quartey's long-dead webcomic RPG World, though he himself was very much a Cloud reference.
The only other comic this illustrator is credited with on Comixology is Enough Space For Everyone, another anthology so probably only a single story illustrated in there as well.

I have received a few requests so I thought I'd upload my paper so anyone who is interested can read it. You can find it at academia.edu!
I don't expect everyone to agree with every point I make, these are just my simplified interpretations of some themes present in the show. I'd love to hear some of your own opinions though!
EDIT: It says that it's 'currently being converted. Please check back in a few minutes' but the download button should be working anywho
After watching a couple of episodes and not being super into them (mainly due to the person showing them to me), Stronger Than You is one of the things that got me to watch this show. As I've said elsewhere, there's a lot of little moments in S1 that got me to watch all the way to Jailbreak (like the Utena tribute in Steven the Swordfighter).
I loved the shit out of this song and listened to it a lot. But it was only when I broke it apart to analyse its structure, its Spanish translations, and to retranslate it myself, that I realised what a goddamn work of art it is. How bits of the song echo each other in ways that are not apparent at first. It's truly a pop masterpiece.

Just the tags on deviantart and tumblr, I'm sure I could find more. If I remember it was all over the front page a few weeks ago.
Heavy Metal- in which Bismuth and Steven are forced to work together to save the world with the power of rock.
Coming of Age- in which Steven realizes that he's going to grow up into a man, a thought that disturbs him so deeply that he can't bare to let it happen.
Also reminded me of Asura from Final Fantasy and this random villain from Sailor Moon! http://www.anime-planet.com/images/characters/yamandakka_61364.jpg
Both seem to take a lot of inspiration from Hindu imagery and a lot of SU is derived from it as well. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TlzV5vz8ETM/UhSxAf4feuI/AAAAAAAAFX4/JT4LyEO9LOk/s1600/Hindu-brahma.jpg
you might have to dig through some of my posts, but luckily I don't have many. https://www.tumblr.com/blog/deathfox393 I ended up writing a whole lot for his backstory and I still need to work on the other OC I have
Wait, maybe this betrays my ignorance, but what does Berserk have to do with HunterXHunter? And if its not coming back, what is this talking about?

Oops, sorry, something in my throat there...
I'm just here to do a shameless self plug-in of a recent work I finished on Ao3.
Glass Unicorn - It's a short oneshot about Ronaldo's past, and a possibility on why he doesn't have a mother present in the show, and it delves into his friendship with Lars. It's pretty G/PG rated, but there is some mentions of child abuse and bit of language. So uh...if you like Ronaldo (or Lars) check it out!

Opal, Sapphire, Ruby, and STEVEN! -- This is a pretty fun "What If?" AU: What if Pearl and Amethyst were the members of the team fused all of the time, but Ruby and Sapphire weren't? It's a cool premise that is thankfully backed up with some pretty funny writing as well.
Each chapter so far is basically a different take on the first few episodes (First chapter is similar to Gem Glow, second is similar to Laser Light Cannon, etc). I've seen some Momswap stuff before that has a similar approach and ... honestly I've never been a huge fan of that since I think a lot of them don't diverge ENOUGH from the original episode. This for the most part avoids that problem by having some of the major story beats be the same, but whats happening around them different (ex. the first chapter has Steven summoning his weapon as part of the plot, but Cookie Cat isn't a part of the plot at all, the problem the Gems are trying to solve is different, etc. etc). The fact that it diverges just enough to keep it interesting I really appreciate (though I do have one caveat: I personally thought the most recent chapter was a little too similar to the equivalent episode, which in this case was Cheeseburger Backpack, but I didn't get that from the other chapters so much so I hope that problem doesn't occur again going forward).
Plus ... I gotta say, it's just fun having Opal, Ruby, and Sapphire around the entire time since I think a ton of people would love to see a lot more of all three. Steven is written EXTREMELY well, and the fic itself is very consistently funny. Pretty amusing stuff, a fun read, hoping it keeps this quality going.

That climactic moment reminded me a lot of the game Celeste. And your summary of the show's message makes the similarities even clearer. I've never been seriously depressed or anything, but Celeste helped me feel better about myself the way this episode did for you. I highly recommend it!
