I'm not absolutely certain if Eliezer Yudkowsky is reading every comment, but from what I know of him, I suspect he is. Thank you very much for your writing, Mr. Yudkowsky. I have been following this fic for years. It's always fascinated me on a philosophical as well as a fictional level and, over the course of the final arc, it has become my favorite Harry Potter (or any) fanfiction. (My previous favorite was the truly excellent Sisyphus, by esama, a profound oneshot that's archived here: https://archiveofourown.org/works/1113651)
The first chapter of my continuation fic, Ginny Weasley and the Sealed Intelligence, goes up Monday; I currently anticipate posting it at noon, Pacific time (and simultaneously posting a thread for it here). That chapter is already complete at the current moment; I broke down and began writing before HPMOR was complete, gambling that there would be no surprises in the last couple of chapters so huge as to require major revisions to my outline. I was correct. I intend to make a career as an original novelist, and this is just a little informal side project. I certainly don't have EY's reputation in the fanfic community, but I hope I'll be able to find an audience in this subreddit.
Archive of Our Own
I usually sort through most viewed or kudos and go from there. You can also filter it by pairing or character.
Otherwise if you use Tumblr you can search for 'Dragon Age fanfic recs' or something similar.
Edit: Also don't be ashamed. A lot of fanfic authors are on par with or better than some published authors and I thoroughly enjoy reading about others' PC and what decisions they make and the stories they weave out of it.
>"This is Obi-Wan Kenobi: A phenomenal pilot who doesn’t like to fly. A devastating warrior who’d rather not fight. A negotiator without peer who frankly prefers to sit alone in a quiet cave and meditate. Jedi Master. General in the Grand Army of the Republic. Member of the Jedi Council. He is respected throughout the Jedi Order for his insight as well as his warrior skill. He has become the hero of the next generation of Padawans; he is the Jedi their Masters hold up as a model. He is the being that the Council assigns to their most important missions. He is modest, centered, and always kind. He is the ultimate Jedi. It is characteristic of Obi-Wan that he is entirely unaware of this."

Life is Strange: Butterfly Wings is an LIS fan made sequel game based on the fanfiction ‘Butterfly Wings’, co-written by Nothing You Can Prove (aka Olivia) and tylerbamafan34 (aka Tyler).
'Butterfly Wings' fic summary: What if Max can’t accept that it all came down to Chloe in the end? What if she goes back over and over again, but just can't get it right? So many worlds, so many timelines... she decides to go back one final time. What if she goes much further back than she meant to... what if she went back to Arcadia Bay before Rachel Amber disappears? This time, she will get it right… but at what cost?
The project will be using the sacrifice Chloe ending as a base, giving you a fully playable third option during the bathroom photo jump.
Development began in August 2017 and is ongoing. The project is in very early stages of development.

I'm quite fond of The North Remembers. Obviously not quite on the same level as Martin's work, but it's entertaining as hell and offers a (mostly) satisfactory conclusion to the story.
It's a fairly common AU type after coffee ship AUs. I don't really read AUs and I have no idea what media you consume so I can't really rec anything, but you can check out this tag on AO3.
You think that's odd? Wait til you see this. Hockey fanfiction is real and it's very confusing.
For some I reason I wrote this IidaXCamie oneshot
Iida gets under-represented in ships and I think he and Camie could make a cool "opposites attract" pair
Also, I'm pretty sure I wrote the first Fanfic featuring Camie.
Actually, I've been wanting to see some art of the opposite end of this AU for some time now. Mythra the Omnicidal Maniac would be...interesting to see.
Which reminds me, there's a pretty good fanfic in progress about this. https://archiveofourown.org/works/13929504/chapters/32062950
The Ozpin Files not being canon.
Honestly though, probably whenever they stop following team RWBY like they said they eventually would. That is if I don't get suckered into liking whoever the new team is.
I’ve come to appreciate Shuichi’s character more than I initially did, but I still think Kaede was a huge waste of potential- mostly for the Break the Cutie arc you mentioned (though I’d Trade My Life for Yours has a really interesting take on how this might play out- especially as certain tendencies Kaede has start to manifest themselves in...problematic ways).
Precisely. Whenever I see River on-screen, I groan in distaste. Too much action, not enough character or relationship development. The similarities to Timothy Zahn's Mara Jade [assassin-turned-hero's-love-interest] and the previous Doctor Who character of Bernice Summerfield [professor of archeology] were not lost on me. Someone even wrote a crossover fanfiction exploring just how similar Mara Jade and River Song are.
The whole "River is the Ponds' daughter" bit [that is, making River related to two major on-screen characters, as well as the Doctor's wife] is also a fairly common trope among Mary Sues in fanfiction. I'm not saying that River is a Mary Sue, but making an "original character" who is the "child of two other major characters as well as the hero's love interest" tends to be a major wish fulfillment trope. It's trite, overdone, and highly cliche.
There's also River being some sort of magical "part-Time Lord" hybrid, and I get the sense that Moffat was trying to make River "as special and unique as possible". That, coupled with Moffat's "tell, don't show" method instead of the other way around, makes River a character with a lot of lost potential, who seems to be shoehorned into the series as a third wheel, rather than being given the character development needed to build up a believable on-screen "romance" with the Doctor. Not off-screen, as that's just lazy storytelling.
All three tropes are also typically the signs of an amateur or novice writer. Moffat should know better than to be making these mistakes by now. Additionally, bringing River back will cause the same gripes within the fandom as bringing Rose back did, and they're not unfounded complaints. I think Moffat should retire River for good, and move on from her character.
A message from friends to newlyweds Izuku Midoriya and Ochako Uraraka had its last chapter. Everyone ~~except Momo~~ had the chance to say something about them. Also, she is writing a College AU that she is planning on publishing soon, so look up to that.
Also, the tumblr Armored Leo published this IzuOcha piece of art that I somehow only found out this week. A great video.
The Fox and the Rabbit
All aboard the S.S. WildeHopps!
Largely a slice of life at the moment as Nick and Judy try to figure out their relationship.
Things take a heated turn after the Gazelle concert at the end of the movie. The feelings building over the long months since the end of the Missing Mammals case finally boil over with unexpected consequences as a picture of the two kissing in the stadium parking-lot ends up in the newspaper.
The long term story arc gets into darker areas as loose ends from the movie rear their head. Mature but nothing explicit described, just hinted at although some more slightly steamy moments are planned.
This is also the first of at least two planned stories. The next will be quite different, and take place a number of years later when a world weary Nick and Judy get tangled up in a strange investigation that deals with with origins of Zootopia itself.
If you were interested, I did a bit of an experiment where I adapted each Korra season into a single movie length screenplay format. I've done three of them so far. Take a look if you want, I had fun reimagining the structure.
Lily Luna uses polyjuice to impersonate her mother and get money from the family vault and finds out that Ginny and Bill have been having an incestuous sadomasochistic relationship when her uncle rapes her-as-Ginny in their Gringotts vault.
Chapter 17 out now!
Largely a slice of life (Or Soap Opera :) ) as we follow Nick and Judy as they try to figure out their relationship, but things are about to get a bit more interesting in the next few chapters. This is the second to the last of what my editor Mord calls "The Nick and Judy Dating Adventures" part of the story arc.
The long term story arc gets into darker areas as loose ends from the movie rear their head. Mature but nothing explicit described (with exception of chapter 16).
FanFiction.net <- CLEAN VERSION.
In order to keep in lines with ZNNs guidlines I made FF the 'safe' site. There's still some certainly mature content, but nothing graphic. If you want the saucy bits in chapter 16 you'll need to go to one of the two links below:
The Fox and the Rabbit - Chapter 14 just published
All aboard the S.S. WildeHopps!
There's one which is in an alternate universe where at a certain time in every person's life, a goose (yes, an actual goose, the violent kind that pecks and squawks) shows up and harasses you until you follow it as it leads you to your soulmate. It's absolutely absurd, but only if you're in the fandom.
But my favorite one is still that totally unexpectedly sincere fic where Anthony Bourdain goes to Narnia and films an episode of No Reservations. The writer nailed his voice and put some incredible research into it. It was great.
Worth the Candle is an action-adventure litRPG that follows a teenage boy from Kansas stuck in a fantasy realm that takes its inspiration for every tabletop game he was ever the DM for. Juniper Smith was never expecting his fifth-period English class to end up like this! If you want to read the first chapter, click here, and if you want the whole thing on one page, click here.
the setting is NOT coffee shop (but Unnnhhhhh shooting), and they dont mewl. still cringey tho
DUDE I AM NOT THE ONE WRITING IT, WHY AM I DOWNVOTED? geezzzz i hope ppl knows sarcasm when they see it but apparently not
There's No Way My New Little Sister Can Be The Simurgh! is ridiculously adorable, and already my favorite Endbringer/Friendbringer fic, no small feat considering the number of them written.
Ensou has too many fics as of late (as she well knows), and others, like Blink, also scratch a similar itch, but I hope she'll choose to focus a chunk of her limited writing time on continuing to explore the Taylor and Serafina duo.
In many respects, Tom is more of a symbol than a fully-fleshed character. Before the series starts, he's Jake's role model, and after Jake learns he's a controller, Tom represents Jake's motivation to keep fighting. Some of Jake's deepest characterizations come in #31 when he's forced to deal with Tom being a controller on a much more personal level (family drama vs. fighting the Yeerk empire). And of course Jake's depression at the end of the series is marked by his loss of hope of Tom or his family being free.
The best/most classic fanfics I know involving Tom are:
Idyllic - A bunch of one-shots focused on the Berenson family
Eleutherophobia - Cannot recommend this series enough. A "what if Tom lived" AU with great worldbuilding, consistent updates, and good writing.
Sad to say, I like the idea of MEHEM, but the implementation writing-wise is not to my taste. Personally my favorite ending is the one Sinvraal wrote for her massive trilogy-spanning fic series.
Largely a slice of life at the moment as Nick and Judy try to figure out their relationship but things are about to get a bit more interesting.
To anyone interested: It's an entire series. There's one where Tony's Roomba army takes over SHIELD and amazing things happen that I don't wanna spoil. I defy anyone not to be entertained.
Chapter 15 Posted 8/14
All aboard the S.S. WildeHopps!
I've never had much success with plain ol' literotica. Fanfiction is where its at -- An Archive of Our Own is awesome, and of course FanFiction.net.
I've found that even bad authors can turn out some decent stuff by using base characters from popular media.
No backstory or plot depth? No problem. I already know who Tony Stark is. Let's go.
She folded her arms, and I noticed she was wearing a different shirt from the night before, this one with “Boning by the Bay” written on it. I was partially successful in suppressing a giggle.
I had to draw this as soon as I read it.
The Ozpin Files, in which Cinder discovers Oz is a fucking idiot.
One Day They'll Understand, with Knightshade happening without convoluted circumstances
Funny that you mention it, I think I've linked this fic in different threads 5 or 6 times in the last two months because it's so beautiful. It's called Gentle Encouragement by Recourse.
Edit - Dang, again at that top! No pressure Shipping, no Pressure!
Be assured new chapter is in the works... and a rather saucy one at that.
I read a crossover of the Little House on the Prairie books with the general zombie apocalypse genre, which was amazing and maintained the tone of the original books well.
oh my god i just read the first few chapters and they were amazing!!
to pass off that good fanfiction karma, i suggest you check out the daydverse series. all of them honestly sound like they could've been written by jo rowling herself!
A saucy chapter 16 out! Warning! Saucy, Steamy, Bitey WildeHopps this round!
I shall re-toot my own horn: The Fox and the Rabbit
Largely a slice of life at the moment as Nick and Judy try to figure out their relationship. Things take a heated turn after the concert at the end of the movie when the feels each has for the other come to the surface.
The long term story arc gets into more darker areas as loose ends from the movie rear their head. Mature but nothing explicit described, just hinted at although some more slightly steamy moments are planned.
so is it just me, or is there an unusually high level of fanfic related posts today (not that that's a bad thing, just out of the ordinary).
anyways, I've already made some recommendations of serious and romantic fics today, so how about we highlight what might be the funniest fic in the fandom, The Ozpin files by Anon_H, a fic where Cinder manages to get access to some files that paint Ozpin in a very....different light.

Izuku and Mina mentally prepare themselves for the inevitable fight with Inko - To decide if Izuku can continue to attend Yuuei in light of everything that happened to him. With society in shambles and trust in Heroes at an all time low, and her son in the hospital and awake from a coma after Yuuei's failure to protect him - There's no way Inko will allow Izuku to attend, is there?
Its a short chapter because of uni work, but it's a nice one, I feel, and I'm hoping to be getting more done for next week in terms of content. Until then, enjoy this nice short chapter of Izumina AE goodness
The Memorials trilogy has Taylor pull out all the stops. From the way she manages to maintain multiple cape identities, to the clever way she handles some of the fights, there's a lot of interesting solutions to problems that live up to canon.
There are a couple of scenes in my story where exactly this happens. From both perspectives.
And if you search the archive/'consentacles dump' albums you'll find stuff, I'm sure.
That's my opinion too. More precisely I believe Chloe always felt in a very specific way about Max when they were younger but had no idea how to place those feelings back then. With Rachel (and at an appropriate age) she finally got to discover her sexuality more openly. But I will always see Max as her first crush and true love.
I don't know if you've seen it, but there's an adorable fanfic from William's pov dealing with exactly that. Here.
Chapter 18 is out 19 in edit!
ATTENTION! Some major changes going on:
My editors and I are going back through early chapters when I didn't really have any editors. Point being to make the early stuff more in line with new. Not done yet, but the afterword in chapter 18 on ff.net explains things.
I did my own project adapting Legend of Korra into a movie script, one that didn't need knowledge of the ATLA series. It was a fun experiment!
It's definitely a struggle to do that, what helped me and many others was to read fanfiction. The ones I suggest are Better Then it really helped me with that feeling you have after finishing the game because it gave me some much needed closure.
Also for something that is just happy times and for a different kind of closure there's All That Remains those two fanfics really took away my feeling of constant dread throughout the day when thinking of the game

Putting pieces together. Most of what we get about Tiff comes from chapter 42:
>“I did [like Arthur],” said Tiff. “And I knew that he liked me. I kept waiting for him to ask me out or even just confess to me, but months and months went by and he never did, and then my interest started to fade because there was this other handsome boy, so what was I supposed to do?”
>“Yeah, I am [an asshole],” said Reimer, rubbing his forearm. “This difference between the two of us is that I know I’m an asshole, and you prance around like you were his bestest friend in the whole world. You and Tiff could have told him, he’d have been upset but at least it would have spared him being made a fool of. He died a virgin, pining after her, and you were just laughing behind his back about what a moron he was.”
So Arthur either didn't know or had only guessed about Tiff and Joon when he died, and she probably got the tattoo as a commemorative thing. Zona is Arthur's memory of Tiff, not Joon's. That's why she's different, Arthur didn't know her so well. She's also a locally omnipotent magical sentience that's been murdering people for centuries... which might tend to alter one's personality.
I just read this the other day, and it was also pretty good. And I cried, but that's my default response to everything these days so take it with a grain of salt. Or an entire jar of pickles.
Sorry to butt in, but this is my favoritest of favorite Miraculous fics:
It's an AU where instead of superheroes, Ladybug and Chat Noir are pen pals. Very well-written, very in-character, with healthy doses of all sides of the love square, but a bit tipped in favor of Adrinette and LadyNoir.
Catfishy Business by c00nt
Supercorp match on tinder and Kara is convinced Lena is a catfish. One shot.
> Is there a ship that everyone just swoons over that you absolutely can't stand for one reason or another?
Uh this is kind of every canon pairing for me. Sorry. I didn't like how Rowling portrayed any of the romances. In Slash, I don't hate Drarry or Wolfstar but I don't care to read it either, but that's mainly because I'm indifferent to Draco and Remus (at least in fanfiction).
> Is there a fic that is continuously recommended and praised and you, for the life of you, can't understand why?
A Black Comedy and The Lie I've Lived, which are usually recommended on the main sub. I couldn't get into either and I don't get the hype.
In Slash, it's Josephine Darcy's "The Marriage Stone". I don't why it's so popular. There are so many tropes and the characterization is weird. Also anything by DebsTheSlytherinSnapefan, who gets thousands of kudos for I don't know what reason.
There's also this gem that has over 4000 kudos (WHY?) and makes me weep for humanity. linkao3(https://archiveofourown.org/works/2784851/chapters/6250025)
Theres actually a shit ton of really good fanfics out there that aren't jonsa heres just a couple of them
A message from friends to newly weds Izuku Midoriya and Ochako Uraraka, has a new chapter. There will be one more chapter according to my sister, she's very excited about that ~~and refuses to tell me what the chapter will be about~~
It's likely because of the Ootp film. She mentions it when we first meet her, and then again as her last line. Subsequently, it probably went the same way as Dumbledore + lemon drops and Lupin + chocolate. (What is it with this fandom and food? We even bloody ship it with people.)
The third best fanfiction in existence. Number two is the Legend of Eevee: Pokéflute of Time. And number one is I Am Groot. (Although fair warning, I Am Groot is extremely NSFW/NSFL)
Chapter 17 coming soon (~~Dec 23rdish~~ New Yearsish).

Um...Sonia...don't get me wrong, this was really, really nice from your side,but... [implied 2-4 spoilers](/s "don't regret later (especially during 2-4 daily life and right after 2-4 trial) that you decided to help Hiyoko with her kimono "). You signed for that would happen then herself.

Yeah, but it was a fluke. You could probably do a hundred soul merges on Zach and never get that result again. And it would be quite damaging to both Zach and the recipients. So, yeah, the Gate might not have passed a thorough test suite, but I don't think any process based on soul merging is a strong possibility for RR's marker.

“Tolkien once envisioned Middle-earth coming to an end in an apocalyptic final battle. Set in 2017 in Copenhagen and in Dallas and in Fargo, North Dakota, this is a story about Sauron, petroleum engineering, Morgoth, the surveillance state, the House of Fëanor, geopolitics, and Arda's final reckoning.”
Have fun, kiddo
Can't remember anything specifically, but in general where stories have a decent plot intro and an interesting transformation scene, but then quickly descends into rape. I understand, 'Your Kink Is Not My Kink' and all, but at least tag it as such. Dubcon for dubious consent, noncon for rape. This is where deviantart could really stand to learn from archiveofourown or dreamwidth.
Additionally stories where the author has managed to be bland. It kinda goes like this: "oh no I am changing into something! Oh no, now I have a tail, and now a snout, maybe some angel wings, and surprisingly only a slightly dismayed opinion about what's going on around me???" Transformation is naturally about the intensity of the experience (and sometimes about dehumanization, which is of course also intense), so if a writer/artist managed to make that boring, then they dun goofed.
edit: sorry I didn't have any links for anything bad on hand, but here's a link for something GOOD that I actually really enjoy: A Priest and his Wife. It's a fanfiction sure, but really all you need to know is that the setting is Victorian Gothic horror, and that injecting yourself with monster blood is not always a good idea.
There's a very popular fan theory about the Doctor, and all Time Lords in general, having a sort of probability sense that lets them sense all possible future timelines, and pick the action that yields the best one. It's been nearly confirmed multiple times in NuWho, with 9's "But that's what I see. All the time." and 12's abilities to see moments in time from Kill the Moon. It was pretty well outlined in this admittedly uncanonized Time War fanfic.
Evan Atlas was not expected to see his teenage years, much less adulthood. He was born sickly and weak, spending most of his days confined to his bed in his family's old farmhouse. His only means of escape was literature, and every day his big sister would bring him new books from school. Evan's knowledge became vast but his experience was still narrow. As much as he craved adventure, his body was only deteriorating and he feared he did not have much time left.
When he was a teenager, Evan snuck out of his house and blackmailed a reluctant lycanthrope into biting him. He believed that if he contracted lycanthropy, it would mend his weak body and buy him more years to live. He sacrificed his right leg to the werewolf's bite and nearly bled out. However, just as he'd hoped, the lycanthropy disease healed his terminal ailments and turned him into a hulking mountain of a man by day--and a hulking monster of a wolf by the full moon.
Just when he thought things were looking up for him, Evan failed to lock down properly one night and cannibalized someone he loved. Turns out lycanthropy wasn't everything it was cracked up to be. Evan was forced to flee his home country and become a travelling mercenary. Now he uses his library's worth of knowledge as well as his beast-like strength to slay monsters and put criminals underground. Though he seems relentlessly upbeat and confident, it is but a facade to hide his immense guilt over his past.
This is a character from a short story I wrote. It can be read here if you want to check it out: https://archiveofourown.org/works/12251013/chapters/27837888?view_adult=true
Thank you for looking :)
> The problem with that lies in the rules.
Since when has Monokuma cared about rules? Tsumugi already broke her own rule by executing Kaede, and besides that, her priority wasn't operating a fair game; it was putting on a good show- the game ending with the first trial does not make for a good show.
> She'd have no real reason to conceal it.
She'd have plenty of reasons. Again, look at the first two chapters of this- it offers a good idea of how this situation might play out.
With Bakugou, every glance is a glare. It may be because it's my sister who wrote this, but I really like this fic. It's not exactly a shipping fic, more of a character study for Bakugou. But there are ships like IzuOcha, TodoMomo, KamiJirou, Tokoyami/Tsuyu, Ojirou/Hagakure, KiriMina and Iida/Hatsume - basically all the canon-ish couples, I guess? And also a surprising ship by the ending.
So, yeah. My sister, new fic, about Bakugou. Also, great fucking title
I'll post two of my favorites that aren't as popular, but have really stuck with me.
1) Twenty Three Shades of Gray by Thinker6: Taylor triggers with Gray Boy's power and creates a loop in her class at Winslow, capturing her bullies. She can change stuff around inside the loop, but can't end it, and she visits regularly to try to take care of them. The story is told from the perspective of the trapped students, and it's completely horrifying and makes you sympathetic to their plight, even though they aren't being physically tortured, since the psychological torture is more than enough. It's only 2 short chapters and it's part of a really well-written series of snippets depicting Taylor with each of the Slaughterhouse 9's powers.
2) The Slippery Slope by Ack (I know he gets mixed reviews here): Taylor is saved from Sophia's bullying by a boy who is really kind to her, who ends up being connected to the higher ups in E88. She begins the story without powers and is eventually recruited into the Empire. What I love about this story is it shows how easily people can get sucked into horrible organizations like E88, especially when they target people as vulnerable and isolated as Taylor. Like in Worm, and as the title suggests, each step of the way for her seems reasonable, and she responds as anyone would to the only people in her life who value and welcome her. It manages to handle the racial issues as tastefully as can be expected, and Taylor doesn't become a racist or anything; the conflict is exclusively with other gangs, rather than from committing hate crimes. The story itself is riveting, but unfortunately unfinished.
This might be a good time to try and revive /r/xfilesfanfic.
I am searching Gossamer for one fic in particular - post The Un-Natural and Mulder and Scully have sex up against a fence at the baseball diamond... I will edit to include the link when I find it.

Edit 2: Also, this one: Incrementum by Lepusarcticus
Drawn as a cover for this fanfic, which I haven't read yet because I literally just heard about it 2 minutes ago :P
Anyone know if it's any good?
Yes, this is my moment!
I can't claim it has the numbers of a White Rose or Bumblebee, cause that would be silly, but Freezerburn actually has a pretty good list of pretty great fanfic. It doesn't get much, but I'd say the best Freezerburn fanfic tends to be above the rest of the "non partner" romances. Hopefully it keeps going down that route now that some more folks might be being converted a bit
Recovery by ShippingK8- A retelling of season 4, if Yang had to go to Atlas to get her new arm herself. IMO, probably the best Freezerburn fic ever wrote, and one of the best RWBY fanfics ever wrote in general.
The Princess and the Dragon by DinasEmrys
-Dragon AU. Weiss is set to be sacrificed to a Dragon. Things don't go as planned, they go much better. Probably the most well known major Freezerburn centered fic. It hasn't been updated in over a year, but that's majorly because Dinas might be the most popular RWBY fanfic writer on the internet, and is stretched thin. They still plan to finish it, and are still responding to reviews.
I'll leave it at these 2 for now, but I'd also strongly recommend both Queens of Vale & Price to Pay by Texan Red Rose, Cold Snap by Dinas again, One Little Secret by ElectricYarn, and both the two that were recommended by the other posters as well. All are on either Archive of fanfiction.net. Hope you enjoy! :)
Not to toot my own horn too loud, but if you wanted something short, finished, and rational, Rules of Wishing probably fits the bill quite nicely.
There is a ton of Worm fanfic, and although 90% of everything is crap, with the sheer quantity, there are a couple of really good ones, and a decent number that you may like depending on taste. It sounds like you are looking for something similar to Worm...
I think Cenotaph is considered one of the definitively best Worm fanfic for keeping the original flavor and tone of Worm.
There are a ton of alt-power fanfics where Taylor triggers with a different power. They can get kind of repetitive, and a lot of them turn into varieties of wish fulfillment fix-fic. My favorite Tinker Taylor was Seed where she has a Blasto's power. It sounds like you are looking for something with the same flavor/tone of worm though, so I don't have any good recommendations, although I could make a number of decent recommendations.
Some of the better worm fanfics actually only use the setting of worm and avoid retreading any of Taylor's story. My favorite so far has been Tabloid.
Don't know what your predilections are in terms of ratings, but here are a couple you can check out. I personally like I Demand You Speak.
Generally it refers to a slightly different demographic of fans of a certain thing - it can be a show, video game, youtuber, whatever - literally anything that has a fanbase, will have a subsection called 'fandom.' Fanfiction and whatever you see on Tumblr generally fills this category - you could try AO3 for anything you're interested in for a massive amount of extremely gay stuff, almost all written for straight women to oogle over.
So yes, erotic stories about cartoon characters, or literally any fictional person ever.
A Sour Ice-Cream - Yang decides to introduce Ruby to her new girlfriend, but things don't go quite as planned... - When Baked Alaska happens, what does that mean for Roman and Ruby? ALL THE CRACK!!
The latest chapter was so much fun to write ~~and no, I won't make Frosen Steel smut, stop asking~~. The next one... is kinda weird, and a pain in the ass to write, but it'll be ready soon
The Ozpin Files - Cinder hacks into Ozpin's personal computer, and it turns out he's kind of a dick. Probably the funniest I've ever read in this fandom. It even has a Ship Probability Chart for teams RWBY and JNPR, written by our dear headmaster. If that won't make you wanna read it, I don't know what will. (Thanks again Fanfic Bookclub)
An example I like to trot out is Avengers fandom vs Agents of SHIELD.
Avengers fandom has significantly more male characters than female, and lo and behold, it's dominated by m/m slash ships. What het relationships do appear in fics are usually written as background pairings, and the femslash ships are basically all rarepairs.
Agents of SHIELD, on the other hand, has much closer to even numbers of male and female characters, and has mostly het ships in its top 10.
The Lost Children gives a darker spin on Hogwarts that is both scary and facinating. I wish this were longer; I'd like to explore the idea a little more. Another fic that has an interesting spin on the Castle's magic is At Your Service; the mystery and the romance blend together to create a really compeling story if you don't mind slash.
The Eyes legit scared me, so I think it fits the whole "happy it doesn't exist" thing.
Stay the Night by lynnearlington
Kara is a baller, Lena is the team’s new owner. Slow burnnnn.
Basically AO3 is extended their shut-down of offering invitations indefinitely due to fighting an overwhelming number of spam accounts. I got curious about this because I didn't understand what it means (I thought it meant people are being trolls) and I looked into it a little, so in case anyone is curious, this is what I found out:
This is an example of one of the spam accounts AO3 is dealing with. The spam bot creates an email for itself and then adds itself to AO3s invitation queue. It's issued an invite a few weeks later and then makes an account for itself.
The "author" spam bot has created 3 stories (done automatically by the spam bot's program), which are all in different fandoms (SW, NKH, ER) and the "story" looks like this:
Another example: I constantly get "new review" notifications from my account on Wraithbait (a SGA fanfic archive), which is also combating a spam problem. The "reviews" are left by accounts like alkjasdlfj2322 and they consist of hundreds of lines of fashion/clothing name brands (Michael Kors, Nike etc).
Why do the spam bots do this?
From what I understand, the more frequently a name appears on the internet, the higher that page moves on Google's search results (Google's algorithms looks for how popular a certain name is), so marketing companies are paid by the fashion/tech/whatever companies, who then pay people to create spam bots, which will infiltrate websites like AO3 and Tumblr and put the company name everywhere they can reach, thus, moving the company's website higher in Google's search results.
The official name is Jetko, and yes it exists.
Why Try So Hard, My Dear
>When their lips finally parted, Morty was panting and Rick found himself struggling not to lose what self control he’d scraped together, the elder rest their foreheads together. Petting his grandson’s cheeks gently, he kissed at his nose and chin, trying to keep himself together. If they were going to try and talk about this, he really should get up and move… But he didn’t think he could quite separate them again. It felt like the worst possible decision to ever have been made in the Multiverse.
>“M-Morty, I-- I know it’s not-- N-not a morally good thing w-we’re doing,” Rick forced himself to speak instead of claiming those red, kiss-swollen lips, “But it feels right, right?” Blue eyes sought out brown in hopes of finding that he wasn’t the only one that felt that way. Morty shyly made eye contact, finally nodding a little and sighing.
>“It… I… Y-yeah. It feels… Like it’s what we should be doing.” Morty murmured, taking another quick kiss and then tilting his head down, almost as if he were ashamed of himself. Rick angled his chin back up for a slower, softer kiss.
>“Then w-w-we ca-can’t fight it, ri-ri-right, Mo-Mo--Morty?” This time, his voice was quiet, as if speaking too loudly would shatter the little world they resided in right now. The only response he earned was a little kiss from the eighteen year old pinned beneath him.
(Yes Morty is a girl in this one)
>The worst thing though. Out of everything, was how horny she was. God she just wanted to lay down, watch some porn, rub one out and go to sleep. But that would have to wait.
>The one she had her lustful eyes on was... her alcoholic grandfather.
He hides his intelligence because he wants the Dursleys to like him and because he wants to seem normal. This harry doesn't realize that the way the Dursleys treat him is considered abuse and not how children should be treated.
Pearl Steals a Tater Tot
>Pearl accidentally leaves the Beach City Breadbasket with a package of tater tots she didn't pay for. It doesn't go well for her.
How Dark Dynasty Should Have Ended, by me.
Rowestiel (well, sort of)
Summary: Pretty much what it says on the label.
Commentary: Welp. I'd had enough with the Dreadful Duo, so I wrote my own ending to the danged episode. Or maybe my Pops did, it's all a blur. Obviously, spoilers up through 10.21. I wrote it in like an hour, so it's probably error-ridden. Also I invented a new pairing. You're welcome.
If anyone feels like reading some fan fiction that queers up Ranma a whole bunch I have recomendations:
Starts from the begining of the show and redoes the whole thing.
Starts part way into the show, and details Ranma realising she is an egg.
I've recently become somewhat obsessed with Zendo, a tabletop game of inductive logic.
I think many people here would get a kick out of it, because the point of the game is to figure out a secret rule through experimentation.
Incidentally, I learned about its existence from a story posted here, Cordyceps.
I think the problem with playing S1 after BtS is that BtS does not lead nicely into S1; there are still months, years of unaccounted for time that result in some dissonance between what we know from BtS and what we learn in S1. We don't see the two and a half years where (potentially) the romantic relationship becomes more platonic, we don't see why they decided to stay, we don't see why Frank and Chloe got so hostile, we don't see Rachel and Frank, we don't see what happened between Nathan and Chloe, we don't see how Chloe fell apart in those six months after Rachel disappeared and became that angry, careless punk we saw coldly exploiting a drug addict for money.
And it's such a gap I felt compelled to write about it.
Well, it was mentioned in Nightmares of Futures Past that Mad-Eye Moody led a last stand to protect Azkaban from Voldemort, killing all the Death Eaters they had imprisoned rather than allow them to join Voldemort's forces.
You may also be interested in The Kids Who Chose Themselves, which is written like a poetic, lengthy synopsis, but still decent to read.
For my birthday I give you the gift of more IidaXCamie fanfiction
And some smutty IidaXYaoyorozu stuff that I found
The Boy Who Died A lot, by starcrossedgirl.
Harry’s always been known as The Boy Who Lived. Only Severus knows that this is a lie. (Or: a portrait of Severus Snape, in seven acts.)
Snarry is pretty much the closest thing I have in any fandom to an OTP. If you had to ask me to pick like, a favourite pairing of all time, that would be it.
Unfortunately, I don't like the vast majority of the fanfic available for it.
For one thing, it's the characters. Snape becomes sappy, personable, charming or handsome. Harry becomes flimsy, doe-like and overtly innocent. These things happen in a lot of fandoms - tropes and stupid memes take over the actual character, occasionally meaning they end up unrecognizable from the original. It doesn't help that Severus Snape is an extremely difficult character to tackle and present well.
And for another thing, there's a focus on particular sorts of fanfics - creature fics, extreme underage stuff, et cetera. If you're not into those specific tropes, a huge chunk of the SS/HP fanfic is immediately unavailable to you.
The Boy Who Died A Lot is damn refreshing. It's dark, it's biting, but it's funny, and that's pretty much the only way you can show Snape's POV without going absolutely insane - showing the dark humour he finds in anything. This fic is so utterly brutal, and that's what makes it so great. There's no sugarcoating anything at all.
Does it have its flaws? Sure! Snape is tempered a little by the author, but like, you're always going to find differences in characterisation from one person to another.
The thing about The Boy Who Died A Lot is that it made me go, oh, huh. This pairing actually can have good fics for it. Super rare, sure, but they're out there!
A Song for Dragons is another great fic. Jon goes to Essos instead of the Wall, nearly dies on day 2, and is taken in to heal by Illyrio Mopatis, and he meets Dany not long before she gets married to Drogo. Includes Jon/Dany sexy time. Also, there’s Arya bantering with Aegon and fraying the nerves of the Golden Company
There's the pricefield tag there's over a thousand fics in there. Sorting by kudos or length is the way I usually do it when I'm trying to search through the backlog.
Try No grave can hold my body down, Ourroboros and Better Than. Those might be the three best fics out there.
Here are a couple that I liked:
Ipanema: Marinette and Adrien get trapped in an elevator.
Tandem: Reveal via dodgeball, and Alya/Nino find out too.
Guardian Blues by Alps Sarsis
Most recent update is Season 2: Chapter 20
The entire series is fantastic, Sarsis captures the characters of the movie very well. The best slow burn fic I've read.
Under Grace by SarcasmIsOurStrength, Nehkles, and Whatabummer
Glad to be able to post this one again. They just updated after a long while, but it's a great AU with well done characters.
HP fandom, complete, >100,000 words, sorted by kudos (and I threw in, in English):
Loyalty 5? Granted, we don't really know how this "loyalty" works. The game couldn't be tricked, exactly, but it certainly could "play along" with any sufficiently competent or dramatic manipulations or betrayals in the making. Among other evidence could be her lines about Juniper being "a very decent person" and apologies for leaving him, but obviously it's even easier to fake than loyalty.
That said, it's mostly irrelevant. We know Juniper is attracted to her, which means she counts. This is an advanced RPG we're talking about, why wouldn't there be optional romantic subplots for every companion?
Oh, by the way, I'm reasonably confident that her beauty is abnormal. Reread the relevant paragraph from chapter 2:
>Imagine that someone spent a few years studying your likes and dislikes, running through video of your every private moment, somehow surreptitiously hooking up EKGs to measure your physiological responses without you know. Then imagine that they sat down with that data and the best photo manipulation artists in the world and made the absolute perfect picture to cause your heart rate to spike, a jolt to run up your spine, butterflies in your stomach, and a cold sweat on your palms. Then imagine that they did this again, over and over in slight variations, until they had a full 4K 60fps 3D movie to show you. That was what it was like watching her.
It's not normal, it's either some glamour magic, or the DM-entity deliberately putting Juniper's dream girl in front of him; neither implies good things about this whole arrangement.
Oh, and the term's kuudere.
