"Added option to skip autopilot sequences in the galaxy map"
Great! When I already scanned the whole Heleus... :D
And: Patch 1.05 will begin to roll out on Thursday, April 6th.
Should include the <strong>blog post</strong> as well
> Over the next two months we’ll be rolling out additional patches which will go even deeper and look to improve several areas of the game:
More options and variety in the character creator Improvements to hair and general appearance for characters Ongoing improvements to cinematic scenes and animations Improvements to male romance options for Scott Ryder Adjustments to conversations with Hainly Abrams >
That's "Ongoing improvements to cinematic scenes and animations" and "More options and variety in the character creator".
Also "Improving the appearance of eyes for humans and asari characters" for this upcoming patch on Thursday.
Exciting stuff!
On the timeline section at https://www.masseffect.com/andromeda-initiative It's confirmed that the Arks leave in 2185
>2185 - The Andromeda Initiative is scheduled to launch. Privately funded and operating independently from the Systems Alliance, the Initiative’s mandate is to make a 600-year journey to the Andromeda galaxy in hopes of establishing a new home world. This impending galactic journey represents the most ambitious undertaking of any Milky Way race to date…
I feel like this quote is appropriate:
"I have never listened to anyone who criticized my taste in space travel, sideshows or gorillas. When this occurs, I pack up my dinosaurs and leave the room."
Ray Bradbury, Zen in the Art of Writing
Here is a google doc that lists all the inconsistencies in Deception for those who have not/will not read it.
Unusual amount of ME related stuff this year, it's almost like something big is happening with the franchise
> We will continue to tell stories in the Andromeda Galaxy through our upcoming comics and novels, including the fate of the quarian ark. (source)
According to some of the comments on this sub, the upcoming book Annihilation is centered around the quarians. It was slated for release this summer but has been delayed to the end of the year, probably for rewrites since there's no SP DLC now.
You'd be correct: http://www.ign.com/boards/threads/somethingawful-the-plot-of-me3-changed-dramatically-big-big-spoilers.250066288/
Apparently Mac Walters had written a completely different ending that EA/Bioware nixed without informing him
It's straight from this masseffect.com page: https://www.masseffect.com/news/meet-your-squad-with-a-new-trailer
>Unlike Liam and Cora, your other squad mates, like Vetra, Peebee, and Drack, have traveled to Andromeda long before your arrival. Vetra, who is already onboard the Nexus, has found that family ties are more important than venturing deeper into the galaxy. Neither Peebee nor Drack were part of the initial Pathfinder team, and while you’ll find Peebee to be a free spirit with a penchant for alien civilizations, you’ll come to know Drack as an aged and grizzled veteran, even by krogan standards.
>Two of your starting squad mates will be Liam and Cora, who both signed up to be part of the Pathfinder team on the Ark Hyperion. Liam has already made a name for himself in the Milky Way as a security specialist, with expertise in crisis response, while Cora has had the unique experience of training with the asari matriarchs. Along with Alec, Scott, and Sara Ryder, they form the core of the Pathfinder team, and will be vital companions as you touch down on the Nexus for the first time.
>Of course, you’ll encounter a number of other companions as you traverse Andromeda in search of humanity’s new home, and will put your trust in others like Kallo Jath, your salarian pilot. Among other accomplishments, Kallo was one of the engineers who built the Tempest in its Milky Way construction, and knows the ship inside and out.
They were so kind to put up a trial-version indefinitely. Give it a try. I'd say it is a good game and unlike some people I felt the Mass Effect spirit all the way.
Has no one realized that they released the very good novel about the Quarian Ark written by Cat Valente?
https://kotaku.com/the-story-behind-mass-effect-andromedas-troubled-five-1795886428
This is but one of numerous accounts of why Andromeda 'failed', and by all most of those accounts, EA holds very little blame.
Thanks for the site, didn't know about it. ME1 Start Screen, ME1 Loading Screen. Hope I wasn't too late to deliver these!
If you haven't done the survey and would like to, here's the link.
If there are a lot of new responses, I'll post the results again.
EDIT: If anyone is still interested in more of these surveys, I'll do another with any questions you may think are important, and I'll spend a bit more time on it to ensure that all the questions make sense and there are enough types of answers.
Someone on the BSN did some internet detective work:
Time for some e-detective investigation.
I think I managed to find the user posting that stuff.
A user on GameFaq called "Chickenhawked" said once that he was a "virtual lightning technician" and had been working with companies like SquareSoft, Bioware and Blizzard. His style of posting is similar to the supposed leaker.
http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/619315-final-fantasy-xiii-2/61910317?page=1 Here he states that he's a lighting technician and brags about it a bit.
http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/619315-final-fantasy-xiii-2/61842062?page=2 Here he writes about having worked with Bioware/Blizzard and so on.
He also managed to spell "lighting" wrong once, which makes me more suspicious.
So either this is a top notch elite troll. Or an actual worker.
As the title says, I've purposefully chosen not to cast anyone from the games. That's not to say that I don't think they'd be good in the role, but because it would've been too easy for me. Not to mention the fact that they've already confirmed that Seth Green will unfortunately not be playing Joker in the film.
Well, I haven’t read them but if you still want to enjoy the world there’s an entire comic series: Mass Effect Omnibus Volume 1 https://www.amazon.com/dp/1506702767/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_HTH8PCGAQ7J0QD5HE5EX
They could be bad. They could be good. Not sure.
But congrats on your play through! Nice ending choice! 😎
Google doc of the errors in the book. SPOILER WARNING. But seriously. I made it two pages in and facedesk'd. I would consider giving yourself a concussion a bigger threat than reading the "spoilers," if you can call it that.
They actually confirmed that they're done with Andromeda-the-game a while ago, and the studio's disbanding indicates they're also pretty done with Andromeda-the-property.
According to the AI Training Hub, they did mention that Pathfinder teams would have to scout the viability of golden worlds, "pacify hostile threats", "make deals with indigenous people" and "scout hostile environments"... so technically we do resolve the "Golden Worlds" problem. Except that after you drop the outposts, they become unchanging environments, nothing really happens, they don't get bigger, they don't grow crops (Eos) or have visible ice harvesting (Voeld)
The Nexus was highly hyped as "would be changing and adapting, as resources from the Golden Worlds become available", in Training Hub videos 2 and 6, but in reality the only changes to the Nexus is the missing Arks eventually dock to it. It remains unfinished throughout the entire game, no matter how much progress you make on Eos, Voeld, Kadara & Elaaden.
So the list of "things we do resolve" is really two things ... we fix 5 malfunctioning vaults and dropped outposts on the so-called Golden Worlds. And we overcome the Angaran "all aliens = threat" mentality, although the Roekaar may remain a problem depending on how each player handled Akksul.
I think that's pretty much it. "We arrived" isn't really an accomplishment, when you consider how many new plots spring up after arrival, and how aside from "fixing" the Golden Worlds, nothing gets tied up.
I always google "mass effect 3 google doc" whenever I want it, I can find it pretty easily.
Meanwhile you can make some 360 screenshots
Sad to say, I like the idea of MEHEM, but the implementation writing-wise is not to my taste. Personally my favorite ending is the one Sinvraal wrote for her massive trilogy-spanning fic series.
Seems we have another named ark. The Parcero, in one of the still images in the ODSY section.
Parcero means buddy or mate in Colombian slang.
Its a non-human ark and thus doesn't mean that in whatever language it is. But I insist this be the Turian ark.

At ~44 minutes, they talk about this.
Basically, the buildings are sealed and there are kinetic barriers to keep air in. Even when the citadel breaks (if you choose destroy), people live.

Kaidan has a deleted scene as well, although it's shorter and the tone is very, very different. It's a side of calm, collected Kaidan that I don't think is ever shown in the game: link
You don't need to install any kind of client for this, Windows can connect to SSTP-based VPNs natively.
VPNGate is a pretty good place to find them if you don't have a paid one, just filter by "MS-SSTP", pick a Korean/Japanese one and copy the IP address.
Then on Windows 10 just go to Settings -> Network -> VPN then click on "Add a VPN connection" and paste the IP, after that you can simply turn it ON/OFF from the notifications panel.
On previous versions of Windows the VPN stuff lives on the Control Panel instead, under network devices iirc.
It's on Amazon
They also have a mini version and an RC version
You'll want the Deluxe Edition in terms of digital goodies ingame in Singleplayer. The only thing the Super Deluxe Edition adds is 20 MP packs over 20 weeks.
With the Deluxe Edition, you get:
This is along the normal pre-order bonus included in all three Editions:
No. This only holds true for the latest addition to the series, Deception, written by a different author that for some reason decided to do his own shitty spin on the universe. It's a clusterfuck of errors and mishaps.
All the other novels are written by Drew Karpyshyn (lead writer on ME and co-lead writer on ME2 with Mac Walters).
Everyone, I just checked with the mods and they said it's ok so here's the link!
They have to release at least one in May. On April 4th they posted "The Journey Ahead" blog post, where Aaryn Flynn detailed the changes for upcoming patches. The patches are meant to be released in next two months, so they have time until June 4th. It's already high time to release at least one patch.
https://www.masseffect.com/news/the-journey-ahead
BTW many people protect BioWare, saying that they already released one patch, so we should give them time. However that is not true. Keep in mind that patch 1.05 is NOT part of "The Journey Ahead for next 2 months" announcement.
Aaryn Flynn specifically wrote "This Thursday, we’ll release a new patch that addresses technical fixes", which was the patch 1.05 and THEN, below, it is written that during next 2 months there will be ADDITIONAL PATCHES coming up with more serious fixes. This patches are the ones with big changes from "The Journey Ahead", not the 1.05 one.
Just saying this so people won't start "come on, give them time, they released already one part of that announcement". No, they did not, so far they didn't release anything from "The Journey Ahead". The 1.05 patch was probably created earlier and is not part of the "wave of changes" enforced by the sh_tstorm this game got during first days. I'm not trying to be an a__hole here, just pointing out the truth. They should REALLY give us some info now about the patch, and I honestly fully expect them to release both patches (assuming there are two) until June 4th and not a single day later.
1400+: "There's old, and then there's Drack. The elder krogan spent more than 1,400 years causing a ruckus in the Milky Way—wearing the title of soldier, mercenary, and at times, pirate. When the loyal, but stubborn, veteran was given the chance to join his clan on a voyage to Andromeda, he had no choice but to sign up. Doing so would present him with a whole new galaxy of stuff to shoot."
There's a whole chapter here about how much trouble DAI went through because of that janky engine.
https://www.amazon.com/Blood-Sweat-Pixels-Triumphant-Turbulent/dp/0062651234
Frostbite is a cancer. I'm hoping Jedi Fallen Order sells like hotcakes so that EA's forced to reckon that (a) single player games are relevant and (b) that non-Frostbite games are easier to develop.
Apparently it's stated in ME: Retribution (one of the novels) that TIM's space station relocates after each visit even after visits from Kai Leng.
Source is this massive document listing the errors in ME: Deception. Warning: Google Doc Link.
The actual info can be found as the first entry under oddities on the 12th page.
My impressions, from what Bioware have told us so far, are that the planets we explore are going to be open world areas like DA:I (i.e. a better version of ME1's exploration). The short footage we saw of the Mako seems to support this. I think the areas of the new game will be more similar to those of ME1 than ME2/3 (bigger and explorable), yet retain the better detail and liveliness of the latter games. ME1's areas were a little too "empty" and repetitive, which made exploration a chore after the novelty wore off.
There is a Mass Effect Trilogy bundle available from Origin or Amazon (for an Origin code). Unfortunately it only contains the 3 base games and the DLC for ME1. It doesn't contain the DLC for ME2 or 3, and some of that DLC is actually story-essential. The DLC can be purchased on Amazon or directly through Origin (by clicking on the "i" button on the games' icon in your Origin library) but it doesn't go on sale that often.
Some DLC is really essential to the story and some isn't:
ME2 DLC:
Essential: Lair of the Shadow Broker, Arrival
Non-Essential, but still good: The Price of Revenge, Stolen Memory (includes extra squad member), Overlord
ME3 DLC:
Essential: Extended Cut (free), From Ashes (includes extra squad member), Citadel, Leviathan
Non-essential but still good: Omega
Expect to spend $20-$30 on the base trilogy and maybe $50+ on the DLC.
So you're probably asking yourself, is it really worth paying $80 or more for a last-gen series that admittedly has some major issues? I would say yes, it still is worth it, because in total you're looking at 130 hours + for a single playthrough and it has a lot of replayability, and like I said, the stuff that's good about Mass Effect (the characters, overall story, amazing emotional moments, hard decisions) is so good that it's still worth it despite the price tag and problems.
Here's the Audible link if anyone is interested.

Nice. I used the animated version as a background using r/videopaper and converting the webm format to mp4. I've used this site for the conversion.

It's pretty easy to do. Don't forget to set your own resolution for the video before conversion and set the wallpaper settings in Windows to slideshow, loop 1 day. You can get the video from the official site;

Dark Horse is rereleasing the Mass Effect SR2 model and it is awkwardly titled as a remaster. Might be a good sign.

Kalros is a bro. I'd almost forgotten about that feller. Also I found this about him
Is it just me or are they going all in on the merch? Even if it's just a remaster, it's still a trilogy that we all played. They're treating the merch for the remaster like it's a new game release. I can't help but assume it's a bit more then just your typical remaster. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08F813FML/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_4j.yFbGA0VY71
Now an expanded edition of The Art of the Mass Effect trilogy is up on Amazon.

Sure, it's just an "added treat" for you, but what about the people that preorder from BestBuy? HERE is what they get, which you'll never get your grubby paws on, just like they'll never get what you'll receive from Gamestop.
What about the folks from Australia and Europe, who are pretty much fucked completely?
This isn't like the "bonus" from Portal 2, which was a slight, inconsequential recoloring. This is gear that should be packaged in the game proper, gear developed well before launch. This has been one of the things people have always feared most about the rise of DLC; that more and more a game's content will be trimmed out pre-launch and sold back to us in drips and drabs.
It's unacceptable.
Direct link in case you want to avoid that ad when you open OP's link.
i'm using , it's free, just start it, click VPN Gate Public VPN Relay Servers and choose a korean one. If the TCP protocol fails use UDP. Just tried it and it says unlocks 20.3 16:00 CET. Make sure origin isn't running before you connect the vpn.
My personel favourite is Adamo. For a Talimancer this one is pure gold.
but Interregum is amazing if you like Garrus.
I like both of these a great deal, and cant decide.
The Arc Initiative. During the period just before ME1 the council races decided to fund a colonization expedition to the Andromeda galaxy.
There's some cool videos about it on the website.
Absolutely worth playing, but get it on PC (unless you have the money and are looking for any excuse to get a 360 anyway). More than likely cheaper and doesn't take much at all to run smoothly. Check Can You Run It first.
$20 on Steam right now, but it may go on huge sale in the summer (I got ME1 and 2 for $5 each). $15 digital download on Amazon too.
And a new ME comic collection too: https://www.amazon.com/Mass-Effect-Complete-Mac-Walters/dp/1506719198/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=mass+effect+comics&qid=1595176002&s=books&sr=1-1
I think a remaster is very likely now. I just hope its not a lazy cash grab
Thank you, someone who enjoyed it - loved it even - and doesn't go about arguing that it's all a matter of perspective. You loved it, and that's great, but you're willing to hear why people didn't like it.
Basically, it amounts to the fact that there are some irreconcilable plot holes, and that it contradicts the themes of the series. If you want to read about these problems, there's a massive article listing out all these plot holes. Some are minor, some are crippling.
The crippling ones are listed in red. Be warned, when you're forced to truly analyze the ending, it could ruin the experience for you.
If you want a quick answer: my main problem is that the deus ex machina doesn't make sense. Why does the Catalyst need Shepard to sacrifice himself? Does Control basically indoctrinate the Reapers? To quote from my post above...
That implies the Reapers: the concentrated form of a sentient race, the beings that make the geth stand in awe of their brilliance, the nations encapsulated in a synthetic form, are merely programs that can change what was likely millions of years of work and belief on a whim.
And why would a civilization build a special room on the Citadel that results in three miraculous options, and can only be used by a device that doesn't exist? If Synthesizing organic races is an acceptable options, why didn't the Reapers just do that?
Do you think there's a reason that critics seem to be completely missing why people are so frustrated with the ending? They seem to, for the most part, assume that people are mad because Shepard dies at the end of the game like it is some huge shock that we didn't get to ride our space unicorns off in to the sunset.
I don't know if you've read through this but it makes a lot more sense than the endings alone do. And if it turns out this is true why are critics/game journalists okay with supporting the end of a game that will most likely require players to fork over another $10-$15 for DLC to actually end the game? Isn't DLC supposed to be content on top of the completed package, why is it becoming less and less of an issue for content to be held back and sold separately later?
Someone only known as "letjemari" made this pretty incredible Google document breaking down how little sense almost every single thing in the Mass 3 ending makes. While there's been talk that it's all a dream, or whatever, this document illustrates what a mess the ending is if the events depicted are in earnest - writing so sloppy that it's kind of appalling to think of what a disservice and insult it is to the supremely talented artists, programmers, and voice cast who poured their hearts into the game for the writing side to put so little thought and effort into their work. Like it says, it's either a dream sequence or incompetence of unbelievable magnitude.
Personally, I feel it's very sad that we live in a world where it's even possible for paid professionals to produce such careless, slipshod content and I believe that as many people as possible should be made aware that fans are not just dissatisfied with the outcome of the series, but the ending that is so poorly considered that it seems as though it was written by an eight year old. As consumers I believe we have the right to expect professional writers to think about what they are doing for at least five seconds before committing it to paper. Give it a read and see what you think. The parts that are really just mind blowing are the Catalyst and the three choices.

The terrible laughtrack-sitcom writing. The avalanche (and I do mean avalanche, I almost want to go back and replay it just to do a joke-per-minute count) of terrible one-liners, especially from characters that were previously never written to be naturally funny like Kaidan, Tali or Liara. The forced humor by other characters who ARE naturally funny, like Garrus, who are suddenly cracking the same low quality one-liners as everyone else. The overall slapstick feel of the entire thing, which was so out of place given the tone of the entire series even at its most humorous moments. I really kept expecting cartoon sound effects to pop up whenever you mow down the enemy henchmen by the dozen. The incredibly inane and shallow fan service that lacked any creativity or cleverness whatsoever. There are way too many examples of this for me to start listing them, but we're just clubbed over the head with things like some goon yelling "I THINK THAT'S ARCHANGEL!" (Was he really that famous? Even if he was, how could anyone possibly assume it's Archangel and not just a random Turian with a gun?)
"Admit it Commander; you're going to miss me." .. no, I really won't.
It had some high points, (how Thane is handled is fantastic, for instance) but overall I juuuuust hated it. I was so sure that everyone else would hate it that I was shocked to find out I'm in the minority.
I really enjoyed the Silversun Strip and both iterations of the party. If it was just those, I would have been fine with it. No need to shoehorn in a flimsy scheme about a Shepard clone with yet another evil PMC.
EDIT: A lot of my feelings regarding this DLC are summed up pretty well by this guy.
Good question — that's definitely something I'd like in HR. I can't find anything with "Search Google for Image," though.
The link is for www.masseffect.com/n7, but right now www.masseffect.com/n7 redirects to https://www.masseffect.com/news/mass-effect-n7-day. Maybe the image will be on www.masseffect.com/n7 tomorrow? Maybe it'll be a new lithograph or something. I don't know, just spitballing.
You're in the UK - so it releases on the 23rd there. 21st for North America, 23rd for all other regions.
It's some antiquated release date thing. The US releases on Tuesdays, other regions on Thursdays. I think in the UK it used to be Fridays so at least you don't have to wait that extra day.
I'm in Aus so I feel the pain. It'll be a long 2 day internet blackout to avoid spoilers.
Sam Hulick is one of the music composers for Mass 1/2/3. He made this for a small project, where the request was "Mass Effect'ish". Still a neat track.

Edit 2: I was using a premium version of NordVPN trying lots of regions, Dunno what it was, but I swapped to the free version of Private Tunnel, with both my VPN and comp time/region set to hong kong, and it works now. Hope it helps you all!
Well, it's available but only digital on Origin. I am a little upset that there's no physical boxes as I just like having game boxes in my library but, well... I can understand that the production costs for PC gaming that's been going more into the digital realm is easy to cut first. My PC doesn't even have a Disc Drive anymore because I haven't had the need to use discs in 3+ years since I download everything.
HOLD......
Shepard: "Mr. Harbinger, you'll notice all the Elcor have mini guns attached to their heads. I figure every creature deserves a skewered meal...
Garrus: "Shepard… it’s about the Elcor. When you were dead they were put on the endangered species list. We tried to get some but it would’ve taken months to clear up the red tape."
Shepard: "You know I have one simple request and that is to have Elcor with fricken mini guns attached to their fricken heads. Now evidently my monaural colleague informs me that that can’t be done. Can you remind what I pay you people for? Honestly, throw me a bone here. What do we have?"
Garrus: "Hanar."
Shepard: "Riiight."
Garrus: "They are mutated Hanar."
Shepard: "Really? Are they ill-tempered?"
Garrus: "Absolutely."
Shepard: "I should go."

the collective jaws of the world drops as a sea of aggravated and inebriated Mass Effect fans lift metaphorical spears towards metaphorical heavy cavalry

No, you're wrong.
"Objectively" means: "Uninfluenced by emotions or personal prejudices"
Looking at the ending of ME3 from a literary standpoint, it is a failure on all accounts. You like the ending, and that bias is blinding you.
Lets look it another way...
Rape is objectively bad, yes?
But the rapist dissents, and thinks it's good.
That doesn't change that it's still an objectively bad thing, that just says that someone disagrees.
All I'm saying is there's inconsistency in how she sounds. Listen to this and tell me it's totally the same.
I have had Origin Access ever since Mirror's Edge Catalyst. It carried over for Need For Speed, Titanfall 2 and Battlefield 1. No reason to not carry over for this one.
Edit: Found sauce for ya. https://www.masseffect.com/buy Scroll down to the bottom of the website. Find the EA Access logo
Buy or free? If Buy I recommend Private Internet Access (PIA). It has been recommended so many times but I ignored it. I have tried other vpn's but this one has a lot of options and also has minimal speed loss.
I've been looking for something like this. Thanks for the links! I have the Mass Effect: Andromeda live theme for Sony Xperia but I've been looking for a similar one for my desktop.
Teleportation, resurrection of the dead, fallacy in the God Child's speech, Joker betraying Shepard and the Alliance by cowardly running away from the biggest and most important fight in the history of mankind, space magic that merges organic and SYNTHETIC DNA? COME ON.
There is a need for technobabble in SF. But when you break the lore multiple times in 10 minutes, that leaves a fuckload of questions that can't be answered without saying "Yeah, we fucked up royally alright" at some point.
Here you go, ignoramus. Several pages of arguments Bioware has to address in a DLC they have 3 months to prepare.
Yeah, this was my reaction at first too. Take some time out to look at the plot holes people have pointed out.

I've been looking some more aside from this article; however, I can't seem to find an article other than the other link posted by /u/Edi17 that talks about the delay. The only other place I can think of is that it might be buried in Jason Schreier's twitter feed. I know it's Kotaku but Schreier is a reputable guy.
I only have the Steam version so I'm not aware of any DLC. But I'll check on Origin and see. I haven't dusted off my Origin/EA since I got addicted to Dragon Age.
You forgot how the hologram makes it look like he's wearing lipstick at all times.
I remember they had a row of face designs and a bunch of helmet and armor designs. They also had body designs that looked less human (geth heads for quarians essentially). They didn't finalize anything until after they finalized the geth, I believe. I can't post any images, you'd have to find a copy of the book to look at. If you're willing to buy it, it's on sale at Barnes & Noble The e-book is $10. There's also an elcor design that looks like a fat mind flayer.
I was referring to this: http://www.ign.com/boards/threads/somethingawful-the-plot-of-me3-changed-dramatically-big-big-spoilers.250066288/
But maybe I missed reading about the connection between dark energy and the crucible (other than the above source)... frankly, I'm not bothered to open ME3 and find out... I already uninstalled it anyway.
:-(
Very similar thread about this with lots of useful information: http://www.reddit.com/r/masseffect/comments/tjdf1/nonimported_shepard_vs_imported_shepard_spoilers/

Amazon still lists the Super Deluxe Edition as releasing Feb 21...I know it's wrong, but I want to believe!!
On MEA, he was a Senior Development Director since 2013. He's been in the industry for over 15 years and worked on multiple games like the Gears of War 3 and Gears of War: Judgment.

The 'space hamster' is an inside joke Bioware made about Boo, the mini giant space hamster Minsc from Baldur's Gate (also a Bioware title) carried in his inventory.

Idk about the OP but most people mod the ending with MEHEM (Mass Effect Happy Ending Mod) Changes some things around adds a few scenes in and some cringy (IMO) dialog. I used JohnP's Alternate MEHEM which removes some of the more cringy added content and also lets me remove the kid from the game entirely.
Most mods for 3 are just added as DLC some will require you to put more work into it though. A lot of the more popular ones these days have pre built installers though so you don't have to worry about it. but on older games you may need to put a bit more effort in for some of the mods.
You are full of shit. You can't get the necessary EMS through single player only for the best ending. If you think you did, then you didn't get the best ending.
I still don't quite have the closure that I desire. I've grown so much into Mass Effect, grown so close to each of the characters, hell, I've even fallen in love with Tali, losing them all in a few short minutes can't really be healed easily. Of course, my obsession is just that--an obsession, so I don't know how much you can relate to that.
I've been coping by mostly browsing around this Reddit, and I've also been reading through Razor's Edge, a really well-written FanFic with MaleShep and Tali romance. It's based around the storyline of ME2, but he adds quite a bit extra to the story, building on Shepard's self-doubt and the way that he's being broken down slowly, as well as Shepard and Tali's relationship.
Strong hand it some, you do have a footing in direct false advertising here as per Hudson's infamous utterings. You're a customer who's dissatisfied with a product you were lied to about, don't be rude or disgruntled over it, but be dissatisfied. If you really want to get fancy, then see if your state has a law similar to the one that https://imgur.com/mIvml pulled. Just throwing the false advertising card out there period is usually enough to get them on their toes.
Also ask what this 'new policy' is and how it relates to a contractual purchase you made before it existed. They may have a genuine EULA statement that allows retroactive changes such as this and we've all signed our souls to the devil so to speak, but it sounds more like bullshit to me and that someone at EA is sending around a memo to the customer support teams telling them to make returning ME3 a hard time. AKA, EA is panicking at the thought of mass refunds and we're making some progress with this movement. Just my speculation though.
But yeah, just don't plead or beg. You're a consumer of a faulty product and there's some power in that. At the very least try to speak to a supervisor and get your dissatisfaction at being falsely advertised to in as high as you can. Again though, don't be a dick or attack anyone directly or anything, they're just employees at a company; none of this is their fault.
To your tl;dr, yes. That's the only way to obtain an ending. As far as I know.
There were sixteen "different" endings. I would more describe them as sub-endings. Vaguely deviating from the original 3, ever so vaguely. Even then, I think the only variation between some is the appearance of the cutscene you get.
Varying on your readiness. Solely on your readiness. Edit: And your decision regarding the Collector's Base, apparently, as Rick_dangerously and LetsGetMetaphysical said.
You can always try the 10-hour trial: https://www.masseffect.com/trial
Personally I think the hate is massively overblown and it is roughly on the same level as ME1. There are some story issues, and the open world design isn't the best, but the linear missions are pretty good, most side quests have decent writing (even if the actual design is lacking), and the combat is excellent and very fun.
Have you been keeping up? I would recommend to just go search mass effect Andromeda and watch every thing that's been released. To much info to explain. Start with the trailers and the nexus videos on the mass effect website
Apparently, there will be a lot of Mako in the next one. They keep emphasizing discovery and exploration whenever they talk about it and the Mako will be a big part of that. Plus the little bit of gameplay they have released looks sweet.
Look at that thing tearin it up in the snow.
Follow the instructions on here: http://www.gamefront.com/mass-effect-3-how-to-transfer-your-me-2-save-from-xbox-360-to-pc/ except the website in step 13 moved to: http://eplight.org/me2/
Worked for me back before ME3, haven't used it since so hopefully it still works.
Still some issues with it, will post the most current version here, however (THANKS FOR THE FEEDBACK!):

Just a couple of notes:
If I got a good enough response I might write the Renegade ending as well. (I only played Renegade playthrough once, just can't do it)
Not sure if it was just because I was redirected to the international Target page or not but it didn't have any product information whereas the Amazon listing does!!

Quoting what I said about this yesterday:
>When you're connected to your VPN, launch a "what's my location?" website (any will do) through your browser. Some VPN servers get blacklisted by geolocation databases.
>My VPN (IPVanish) had its Korea servers blacklisted. When I connected to it, location sites showed me as being in Florida, US (I'm in Europe); that's why Origin didn't show me the release date I was going for. When I switched to my VPN's India servers, it works.
>If your Korea server is blacklisted, India, China and Singapore have the same release date. Try them all. :)
Be sure to close Origin completely before switching on your VPN - and choose a server that actually works. Once you start Origin after that, it should work.
+1 for Private Internet Access, good selection of VPNs (Japan, South Korea, US East/West, Australia, Canada, UK, etc), good speeds (I tend to get 20Mbps or so). US$6.95 a month or $39.95 a year (spendier than free, obviously, but much more reliable).
This is whats known about importing saves
Nothing about modding your savefile and/or how it will effect ME3 But I wouldnt be too concerned about that tbh, there is no reason for them to do anything against savefile modding I'm not even sure if there is a way to track if the file you imported was modified.
Nothing official tho.
