I've always hated the "what would your mother think?" guilt trip attempts. First of all, my mother knows I'm a grown-ass woman who can make her own life choices. Second of all, my mother has this shirt which is also relevant.
His name is Humaid Al Buqaish and he's a rich guy from the Middle East who likes to post pictures of his lions and other wild animals.
He raised that lioness since she was a cub and she is angry at something in front of her, not at him.
I've literally raised a couple exes, it took Shel Silverstein to finally set me straight on what a healthy relationship looks like; to not need someone, to be content with your own company and still choose to let someone in. That's what real love looks like.
Seriously. Pubic hair comes in so many types, like head hair, that it needs a separate sub or forum or something.
“Ooh, I just condition, shave and rub deodorant on the area.” Cool, cool, glad that works for you. I’ve tried so many things, each for months on end, and nothing works. Shaving, trimming, plucking each hair out with tweezers, home waxing (practiced elsewhere first), rolling hair remover, and at this point I could pull it out with my hands if I wanted.
Doing these results in ingrown hair...not doing something about it also results in ingrown hair. Tried conditioner, oil, hair masque, deodorant, etc; my hair grows sharp and can grow back in towards my skin, yet also grows straight and randomly bends in zig-zag patterns, making sure I know it’ll never be cute. I have so many scars. It scars sometimes just from being removed. It’s Type 666. It’s Satan manifested as pubic hair.
Again, pubic hair is as diverse as head hair, but there’s more misconceptions that’ll likely end in dangerous ingrowns or yeast infections or whatever. Pubic hair needs its own “beauty care” guidebook.

This reminds me of the amazing metafilter thread on emotional labor and particularly a comment explaining why sometimes women are too tired for sex with husbands who don't pull their weight at home. Operative quote:
> I pointed out that women are biologically disinclined to have sex with their caretake-ees
I'm going to disagree about having preferences in partner appearance (which I'm assuming is code for racial characteristics) not being racist.
People are attracted to the familiar and the societal norm (in the US, typically white actors or celebrities). Here's an interesting article by a matchmaker on racial attraction trends she's seen among her clients: http://www.theestablishment.co/2015/10/30/online-dating-racism-matchmaking/
A 2015 study of MSM in Australia found that people with strong preferences for or against dating certain races are, in fact, usually racist. Not always. But frequently enough to be a cause for concern even among other populations. Here's the study if you care to read it: https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Martin_Holt3/publication/279863184_Is_Sexual_Racism_Really_Racism_Distinguishing_Attitudes_Toward_Sexual_Racism_and_Generic_Racism_Among_Gay_and_Bisexual_Men/links/567f8a2508ae051f9ae67883.pdf?inViewer=0&pd...

Good on you.
As someone linked already: maternal mortality rate in the US is 26.4 per 100,000. (32 here in Texas)
For the second: the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq did push the number of combat-related deaths up significantly, to a rate of 27.7 servicemembers per 100,000 per year from 2001 through 2010. I have previously double-checked the Motley Fool numbers against government numbers, but am too lazy to do so now. ;-)
I hope you're read her book :) It's pretty amazing and only made me love her even more
EDIT: Since some asked here is the Amazon link to her book!
Details and links:
Just sent a box of 100 wire hangers to OH Gov Mike DeWine. This was a campaign that comes from back when Kasich was in office, and the bill was on his desk. He vetoed it. Unfortunately this time the bill is already signed, but DeWine still needs a dose of reality.
The hangers were $21.95 on Amazon.
I wiped out his address so I don’t get banned for doxxing, even though it’s publicly available. ♀️ Just search “Governor Mike DeWine office address” - it’s on the contact page at the bottom. Be sure to mark it as a gift so you can tell him how you feel! Sadly there’s a character limit - damn you, Amazon!
My gift message:
> Governor, I can’t safely carry to term due to a mental condition. Thanks for signing my death warrant, along with the rest of your vulnerable female constituents. Here’s a gift of our only remaining option. With love, (name and zip)
Have at it, folks! Especially you, Ohio constituents. Make your voice heard!

Edit: In response to the mean pms I am getting, I would like to clarify that I am 100% for being comfortable and confident with your own body and obviously everyone should be afforded the same respect and everything regardless of how they look. Is it my job to police random strangers lifestyle? Absolutely not. I'm just saying acting like obesity is only important on a superficial "skin deep" level is dismissive of a medical issue which claims the lives of millions each year.
There is this great photography book, “Strong is the New Pretty” by Parker. It’s a collection of young women being fearless and strong, challenging gender expectations and “them doing them.” Each photo has a little quote from the subject, One of them, an eighteen year old in ROTC, said that some girls dream about being rescued, but she dreamed about being the rescuer and now she is on her way to being an officer in the military. Gives me hope.
To be honest, I don't think saying it like this is necessary. Here are my arguments:
Maybe "nitpicking" is not the best word. Generally I assume that when people say "lesbianism" they don't exclude trans girls, especially on the amazing subs like this one or the r/actuallesbians.
I hope you can see my point and it doesn't seem mean or excluding, because that's the last thing I want. Also, I'm not saying that we shouldn't specifically include trans gurls in what we are saying, only that not mentioning us doesn't mean not including.

Do you mean "With False Claims, Trump Attacks Media on Turnout and Intelligence Rift"?
It's pretty great. Snippits include:
>In a visit to the Central Intelligence Agency intended to showcase his support for the intelligence community, Mr. Trump ignored his own repeated public statements criticizing the intelligence community, a group he compared to Nazis just over a week ago.
>Later, at the White House, he dispatched Sean Spicer, the press secretary, to the briefing room in the West Wing, where Mr. Spicer scolded reporters and made a series of false statements.
>“I was heartened that the president gave a speech at C.I.A.,” said Michael V. Hayden, a former director of the C.I.A. and the National Security Agency. “It would have been even better if more of it had been about C.I.A.”
If it helps anyone, I just got this shirt on Amazon and I liked it so much that I immediately got it in two other colors. It's nothing special but it's a NORMAL shirt haha.
I recently re-read "Ruin of Angels" by Max Gladstone. He very consciously made all of the main characters AND most random background characters female, and it is shocking how shocking that feels.
When Our Heroes interact with the no-nonsense skull-cracking police detective, she's female. When they deal with a venture capital manager, she's female. When they deal with a potential investor, he's an FTM transgender man who talks about almost dying in childbirth.
It was amazing how many times my brain went into "default male" mode when a new character was introduced, only to have that script flipped. I don't even notice I'm doing it in most stories because it's so standard that all random people are men.
There was a recent AskReddit thread, something like "if porn ads targeted women instead of men, what would they be like?"
I had recently come across a book, "New Erotica for Feminists", which I haven't read so I can't comment on it. But the description begins with a quote from the book, "He calls me into his office and closes the door . . . to promote me. He promotes me again and again. I am wild with ecstasy."
So I guess I forgot I was on reddit and clicked on the thread, hoping to read some funny answers like that. Imagine my disappointment ...

You can still buy Mrs Stewart’s Bluing at most stores, and that stuff is no joke. I accidentally dyed a pony blue with that stuff.
I was told it would make his white areas brighter, but I wasn’t told to be very careful about how long I waited before rinsing.
He was blue for months.
I think the intent is very cute and your boyfriend sounds like a stand-up chap, but the delivery still feels kinda weird to me? Like, "Hi, this is Jane. She's a nuclear physicist. And also my mom."
Not that what he said was odd, but it's almost as if it's violating the order of adjectives, like "my blue square big handbag" instead of "my big square blue handbag".
I have a source: https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2019/may/25/women-happier-without-children-or-a-spouse-happiness-expert
It's an article about this book: https://www.amazon.com/Happy-Ever-After-Escaping-Perfect/dp/0241284449
Relevant quote:
>Speaking at the Hay festival on Saturday, Paul Dolan, a professor of behavioural science at the London School of Economics, said the latest evidence showed that the traditional markers used to measure success did not correlate with happiness – particularly marriage and raising children.
>“We do have some good longitudinal data following the same people over time, but I am going to do a massive disservice to that science and just say: if you’re a man, you should probably get married; if you’re a woman, don’t bother.”
>Men benefited from marriage because they “calmed down”, he said. “You take less risks, you earn more money at work, and you live a little longer. She, on the other hand, has to put up with that, and dies sooner than if she never married. The healthiest and happiest population subgroup are women who never married or had children,” he said.
Another article I've read about him says that men benefit because they have in house caretaker if they get sick. Men get out of the hospital and get waited on hand and foot. BUT! When women get out of the hospital, they don't get waited. Women, even those right out of the hospital, most times have to go back to taking care of their husbands.
As far as I can tell, Trump's fiscal plan is the rich get richer, especially my family. Which yes, does translate to "fuck the minorities" for many of the lovely folks supporting him.
It took a woman in my choir over a DECADE to get properly diagnosed with Sjogren's syndrome. In the mean time, her immune system wreaked havoc on her body, and now she will never get back to her original level of function. She is understandably angry about this.
The thing is... it can already be found by Google. You don't put it on Google. Someone uploaded it to imgur or whatever site it is. You just take the URL from that picture and go here and click on that camera button that says "picture search". It will show you all the websites where the picture can be found and could help you to adress the hosters to take it down.
Doing this you are not putting it "on Google" because it already is! Depending on where your ex posted the picture it could also be that you find out that he posted additional information with it which could lead back to you.
If you're interested in hosting a game online, https://roll20.net/ is pretty awesome. It has google hangout integration for voice chat, neat tools for DMing, and a wide variety of character sheets to pick from. My group has been using it and all of the people that DM love it.

Thankfully, yes! He nervously laughed and said sorry. The other students in the lab have been trying to get him to be less patronizing/condescending ever since, with mixed success (the reason we want to do this is that he's starting to train new graduate students/undergrads himself, and definitely has a very "I'm-smarter-than-you" vibe which grates on the rest of us). He's still somewhat afraid of me though 😈
eBay is the first place to look, though many of those are wholesale from China. Most of the poison rings on Etsy are from China too.
How much do the eBay and Etsy sellers pay for those rings? Anywhere from .50 to $3.50. (for example: http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/High-quality-fashion-design-hot-sale_60118637504.html) The downside being having to hassle with a foreign seller, and it's going to take a while to get, and the thing you get may end up looking VERY wonky. It's a crapshoot.
Amazon and other online retailers have them if you want something slightly upscale.
Or you can buy a dozen from China and give them as Christmas presents.
"Locket Rings" will also get you a variety of poison rings, and those tend to be more modern-looking.
> Right now, the story seems to be "Women can do science!.... as long as they dress and act enough like men."
There was a metafilter post a while back about teen vogue that turned into women discussing their experience (not) performing femininity in the comments. A few women there talked about men being nicer when they were being more feminine versus men respecting them more (professionally) when they performed more masculine so this does seem to be a common experience.
Me fucking too. An estimated 10% of women are on their period at any given time. This is something that happens to half of the population every month for about 40 years of their life. Men should get used to this by now. It's not a ~~~weird rare feminine thing. Girls shouldn't feel uncomfortable, having to sneak tampons into the bathroom to avoid embarrassment at school/work, or pretending they're fine so people won't tell them to stop whining about their debilitating cramps.
UGH. Sorry, I'm very passionate about normalizing periods.
I'm always at a loss when people mention 'that type of guy', who is this fellow? Do they believe that there are specifically evil people who go around with mustaches and capes or something? Do they have IDs and punch cards for evil deeds? Ridiculous.
I’m curious: How many men that say things like this are, in fact, geniuses? This guy is referring to a normal distribution on a bell curve but leaves out the fact that males fall more into the two outliers “exceptional” and “intellectually disabled” than females. Interesting how he doesn’t say, “the intellectually disabled are overwhelmingly male” to offset his comment about men’s intelligence. It’s females who fall more to the center, meaning they are, on average, MORE intelligent than men. So, therefore, the stereotype about sex-based intelligence should be the opposite.
Women are destroying academia? Hmm:
The most comprehensive take is by Earl Hunt. But you don't even have to read up on the subject to blow arguments like this out of the water.

I read his memoir On Writing; I was astounded to hear he was hit by a car in like '99. Injuries included: a collapsed right lung, multiple fractures of his right leg (was almost amputated), scalp laceration and a broken hip.
Insane to think he could have died.
I'm really late to this thread but figured you'd sympathize.
My new coworker found out I'm in grad school for creative writing, said he'd never really done creative writing when I asked, and then he told me, "You know, Stephen King has this theory that writing is a craft..."
He acted both surprised that I'm familiar with On Writing and offended when I corrected him and said writing as a craft is the generally accepted term and was not an idea invented by King. Like, "Well I didn't know that!" No shit dude, it's not your field? I've taught creative writing, like I literally just told you?
I was like "Well, you've read On Writing, right?" And he says no! He's read snippets! Like why try to speak with such authority over something you know next to nothing about to someone who just said she has extensive experience in it???
I read today's NYT article on it instead of watching because of school. I am severely concerned what her nomination will mean to the future of public education. What I liked best (worst?) was how she tried to turn the lack of choice regarding schools into an unacceptable injustice. UN-BELIEV-ABLE.
It's called Demon's Plague. It's a zombie apocalypse book, but unlike every other one it takes place in a semi-realistic version of Medieval England instead of a modern / military setting. When I say "Semi-Realistic," it means a low-fantasy world where the cities and characters are fictional, but the weapons, places, and technology are authentic or at least plausible within the setting. No magic, dragons, or other fantasy creatures. The zombies are heavily inspired by Max Brooks, no runners. I also did my best to avoid common tropes for the genre. Characters are intelligent and learn quickly how to handle the infected. And best of all, the story focuses on exactly zero children or babies.
It's available on Amazon now in digital and paperback.

> I accidentally grabbed one of these pens (the lovely purple one) out of my wife's purse and instantly got my period. Now I'm feeling bloated and weepy.
> For those who haven't actually tried this pen, it is easy to make fun of. I LOVE this pen. When I click on it, it sometimes releases an eraser-sized nub of chocolate. At other times, a Fabio-like voice in dulcet tones says "Math eez hard. But you can do it" or "Take a break. Ez time too watch Dr. Phil!". It really just gives me the extra motivation to go on with my day. Also, it has amazing built-in smart technology! When I see my patients using this pen, the pen automatically detects the awkward situation because it knows to say "Do not worry, the real doctor will be in soon." Thankfully, the pen then signals to my male colleague, who will arrive with his "For Him - Bic Magnum" pen, designed to write OVER "For her" scribbles. Lives saved. Thanks, Bic!!!
Relevant: this fucking book I found on Amazon today.
Thank you for this. I think I need to figure out a way to have a situation somewhat like this.
Right now, he's so frustrated in general about it, he's like, "LET'S BONE! WHY DON'T YOU WANT TO!!??" And when I tell him I don't know, he gets mad, doesn't believe me, makes crazy assumptions like I'm cheating.
All of that definitely doesn't help me get in the mood. And right now, I'm not able to just say, "SEX, let's do it." I don't like it. I know he's upset. But to have sex when I don't feel it, it just doesn't seem right.
EDIT: Since this is a higher comment, I'll put this here. Thanks everyone for the advice and wonderful words.
I ordered Come as You Are and Mating in Captivity. I'm going to give them a read and not-so-subtly leave the books out so he can see I'm doing something for the cause.
Hello! I am currently a master’s student studying Linguistics. I am working on my dissertation and need participants for my study. At the end of this message I will include a link to a questionnaire. It is between 5 and 7 minutes long and asks questions about some words or phrases you may have heard or used on the internet.
On the consent page of the questionnaire I will ask for your first and last name, or some kind of identifying name that you should keep as reference. This information will not be a part of the data and will not be shared with or available to anyone else. This is simply to have some kind of identification so that if you wish for your questionnaire to be deleted or amended in any way, I will be able to find it based on the name you have given me. I will also be asking for your age, gender, country of location, and your first language. If you are not comfortable giving this information out please do not fill out this questionnaire, and if at any point during you feel uncomfortable with it please exit the questionnaire. This data is password-protected and will not be viewed by anyone but myself.
At the end of the questionnaire is more information on my dissertation and research questions. If you have any questions, or would like more information please email me at
Thank you very much for your time
YOU MUST BE 18 OR OLDER TO COMPLETE THIS QUESTIONNAIRE
Oh god YES, they're mindbogglingly good. Anyone who hasn't seen this production needs to get a Digital Theatre subscription right now! Their performances (and Tennant's as Richard II) alone are worth the price of admission, though the other shows I've watched (mostly Shakespeare) are great as well.
And anyone who not only can't get enough of Shakespeare starring the tenth doctor but also feels that such an experience would be incomplete without a Star Trek crossover needs to get this version of Hamlet. Watching him act it up in the title role opposite Patrick Stewart in a double role as both his father's ghost and Claudius is a sight to see.
...and now that I've written all that I've come to realize that a two paragraph rant as a response to your little side note might have been a wee bit excessive. Sorry about that >_>
Christ I am so glad I am not alone. Periodically I get to hear from my boss about how others are saying I am rude and unhelpful. Yet they decline to mention they are asking for help by interrupting me when I am on a call/ in a meeting or badgering me every other hour if I am free to do help them. Apparently "I will get back to you when I am avail." isn't good enough.
My manager trusts me, but ffs.
It's a current trend that when discussion are being had about misogyny or sexism women experience, some asshat needs to butt in with "NOT ALL MEN!!".
This is bad because: https://medium.com/@brendawambui/66a973206e65
You really DON'T understand how this works.
The government only subsidizes premiums if you fall below a certain economic range. Most of the cost of health insurance premiums does not come from tax money. https://www.healthcare.gov/glossary/subsidized-coverage/
It's not quite so easy. A lot of people don't think that having sex with a shitfaced person is rape. Plus, you'd be surprised what people are willing to do when horny. While I don't know what the study was, the book Predictably Irrational by Dan Ariely cited some research in which people admitted to being willing to doing pretty shocking things when they're in the mood.
It terms of generic, cheap, small plastic dinosaurs, $5 is incredibly too much. You can get a huge bag of em for $5. You can get 72 of them for $10 on Amazon right now. Pretty much anywhere you can get them for way less than $5/piece.

It's probably 50 lbs on land like the story says, in water though... based on a density of ~2g/cm^3 (source: http://www.britannica.com/science/rock-geology) It would be roughly half the weight, more or less. Although that is the lower estimate, so it probably effectively weighs more than 25 lbs somewhere. Keep in mind though it is much harder to move underwater.
Of course. But really its fun to use a diva cup so you can measure the size of that glob for personal pride.
Also, because a vagina is basically an upside down cup (hence being called a chalice in olden days) liquid tends to ooze downwards. So, each move you make makes the slime slip around so you feel it. Did you ever play with gak? It's like that in your underwear with backaches. It's a vaguely miserable experience which is why some women having their periods seem miserable. Because they are.
Not quite the same, but I get The Paper Bag Princess for all my friends’ daughters. A princess rescues her prince from a dragon, but the prince turns out to be an ungrateful jerk so she leaves him and lives happily ever after.

The Enchanted forest chronicles. It's about a princess who is not a typical princess, (She bakes cherries jubalee and knows some magic and sword fighting) A friendly king of dragons, a kitchen witch with a dozen cats, and the king of the enchanted forest and all the crazy pressures he has to deal with. Rupi Kaur wrote the poetry book Milk and Honey
I highly recommend it. I have an inkling the poem above is heavily influenced by it. Most of her poems are accompanied by a drawing like the one above. For any sexual assault survivors out there, it's so cathartic to read <3
What would it be called then? I thought that emotional labor had a broad enough definition to include things like having to reject a man gently so as to spare his feelings (but with no expectation of the reverse), remembering the birthdays of family members on both sides and sending cards (once again with no expectation that your partner will do it), noticing the chores that need to be done and either telling your partner to do them or just doing them yourself since it won't get done otherwise and you've already asked them to do it so many times that it's more exhausting to ask than to just do it yourself.
I was mostly basing my definition off that Metafilter thread discussing the "Where's my cut?"article. http://www.metafilter.com/151267/Wheres-My-Cut-On-Unpaid-Emotional-Labor
I got it from this book! https://www.amazon.com/Candy-Magic-Ingredients-Modern-Recipes/dp/0399578390 She calls them Dreams Come Chew and they're delicious. A little softer than regular Starburst, though.
Not only was the video edited to be highly misleading, but the people who filmed, edited and produced said video have been charged by Texas (who dropped) and California (ongoing) for taping without consent and for fraud.
Multiple states have investigated Planned Parenthood based on that video and have found no evidence of illegal activity. I can only assume the same will happen in this case and that the federal government is just looking to attack PP, again.
She is wearing foundation, mascara, nude lipstick. Hair is professionally done, the eyebrows too.
Make up is probably used to make around the eyes redder, and the under eye circles.
If you are on tv, you wear makeup, your clothes and hair are professionally styled.
It isn't to say most actors aren't beautiful when they aren't wearing makeup. But that beauty is subtly enhanced by the use of natural looking makeup, because TV is really unforgiving of any error. Everyone is going to get a close up on your face, and with HD, any glare, redness or apparent pore is going to look ugly.
Another use of makeup is to make you look like the part of the role you are playing. Here the hair style, and eye makeup is used to fabricate a look (a bit distressed). It could be used to make her look like she is a mechanic or a classy business woman, like she is radiant or just cried...

Can’t say it’s the best way but: One of the larger freestanding makeup mirrors with various lighting settings which I bought solely for this, several needle sizes laid out for digging, needle nose style tweezers, hot compresses, lots of isopropyl alcohol and cotton rounds, clean towels and tissues, one of those pimple and blackhead removal kits, and at least 2 free hours.
I have a hitachi magic wand as well as this smaller vibe and the hitachi is easier to target specific areas with. I've pretty much abandoned that original vibe ever since I got the Wand.
I have to say it..it's a bit ironic that you used a gif hosted on Perez Hilton's site when he invaded privacy and also posted jlaw pics all over twitter!
Every damned time in the past year that I've been paranoid and peed on a stick, my uterus has decided to get things moving within 12 hours. I got a box of 25 tests on Amazon, same quality stuff docs use, all individually sealed, it's around $10 for the box. Saves a shitload of money, and there's no having to run to the store every damned time.
Link if anyone is interested, this is what I personally get : https://www.amazon.com/Easy-Home-Pregnancy-Urine-Strips/dp/B00SXCX1TO/ref=sr_1_13_s_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1509470106&sr=1-13&keywords=pregnancy+test
Yeah! My husband says it's a "butt window" depending on your size you can get super adorable ones pretty cheap on Amazon from Asia. Always buy Asian clothes made for Asian countries not made for the US, if you go down that path.
My favorites so far. I wear a small and those are true to size. It looks like the front/crotch has lace but it's fully lined and the crotch is cotton.
I would be sure to stress the long history of women as crucial contributors to STEM: for instance in the mid-1980s nearly 40% of computer science majors were women.

A coworker turned me onto these lip exfoliators recently. I'm used to having to deal with cracked, bleeding lips in the winter, but these things have been a life saver this year!
Not OP but I have curly hair, I use a nutrient shampoo that I got from TJ maxx. When choosing a shampoo make sure that it's paraben and sulfate free because aparently that's bad for curly hair. Also use a comb with hard bristles that won't move like this one when washing your hair and when applying product to wet hair, it makes the detangling process a lot easier. Use a thick conditioner that's also free of sulfate and paraben, I like the Mixed chicks deep conditioner. I've also found it helpful to use some conditioner to brush out and detangle my wet hair before using shampoo and then conditioning again, that way you're not tearing out your hair trying to detangle it using shampoo. I also like to use the mixed chicks leave in conditioner when I'm done washing my hair. After applying the leave in conditioner and brushing it through my hair, I then wrap my hair up in a 100% cotton tshirt to remove the excess product so my hair doesn't get crunchy. This is a more detailed description for styling.
Edit: I almost forgot but cowashing is important too! That's basically just washing your hair using just conditioner and then styling it as usual. I wash my hair 2-3 times a week, once using shampoo and conditioner but after that I only wash it using conditioner. Curly hair loses moisture quickly so you don't want to dry it out with excessive use of shampoo, this can make it frizzy.
Feminist Baby, the book listed at the bottom, is ADORABLE. My daughter is 20 months old and loves it, and I love the message it sends, that girls can be loud and messy and play with whatever they want. The last two pages are my favorites:
Feminist baby is as smart as she seems. Feminist baby can be whatever she dreams.
I just assumed that the building wasn't full of women when she burned it down. Nuns destroying their convents because they wanted to go home isn't unheard of.
30 is actually the best bang. Higher doesn't block a significant amount more...https://www.aad.org/media/stats/prevention-and-care/sunscreen-faqs and https://www.webmd.com/beauty/features/high-spf-sunscreens-are-they-better
basically it's not a linear scale(50 is not ~2x better than 30).
THIS. OP, whether you decide to report him or not, going public within your social circle can make a huge difference (both in terms of finding support and in protecting future potential victims). One of my groups of friends had to deal with discovering a rapist within our community fairly recently and I think we handled it pretty well, so I wrote about it in the hopes that others could use it as a reference point. Whatever you decide, take care of yourself.
I've never had much success with plain ol' literotica. Fanfiction is where its at -- An Archive of Our Own is awesome, and of course FanFiction.net.
I've found that even bad authors can turn out some decent stuff by using base characters from popular media.
No backstory or plot depth? No problem. I already know who Tony Stark is. Let's go.
There's a great book that addresses this. It's called Attached: The new science of adult attachment and how it can help you find and keep love. It strongly urges people to date others who have a similar level of desire for and comfort with closeness, and goes into the biological drivers for why closeness feels so life-and-death important. Failing that, it gives practical tips for how to make your relationship less anxiety-provoking if your partner is avoiding closeness. Per the book, if your partner is prone to avoiding closeness, that tendency isn't likely to change. The communication tips these trolls are sharing here are gold. I'm trying my hand for the first time at a relationship with someone who also enjoys a lot of closeness and it is the bees knees. Near zero relationship anxiety for 4 months.
> Mean Girls on the other hand was highlighting a specific view of bullying that is largely based on myth and is not at all based on research.
idk if you know this or not, but Mean Girls was based on a non-fiction book based on some educator's experiences working with/talking to adolescent kids. This book was specifically about girls, but there is one about boys too.
I haven't actually read either one, but generally they got very positive reviews, although at least one person did mention the book about girls painting them all as catty and manipulative while the boys one was evidently kinder.
you can read more about the books and author here if you're interested

I have one similar. It's got Velcro/elastic straps, and a mesh pocket on one side. It came with a gel pack that can be microwaved or froze. The electric cable has four heat settings for use when the pack isn't in. Or you disconnect it to use the pack while being able to walk around. I keep it at work or for travel and use it for my chronic pain as well, since I can strap it on just about anywhere even under my uniform. Found it on Amazon.
Edit: Finally figured out there's a share button on the Amazon app: Sunbeam Body Shaped Heating Pad with Hot and Cold Pack
There are several, but the one I use is called Chore Checklist. I'll edit this with the link in a minute.
Free version: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dotnetideas.chorechecklistlite
Paid version: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dotnetideas.chorechecklistfull
It's been years since I bought the full version, so I don't remember the price or the feature differences between the two. I also purchased the cloud connector app so that I could sync my list between my phone and tablet. All together, I think it was less than $5.
No idea if there is also an iOS version, but if not, I'm sure there is something similar.
There's a couple of novels about her! I only read "Goddess" which is losely based off her life, but it's told in first person. It was a very nice read! The other one is on my "to read" book stack hehe.
Edit to add Amazon links (I wasn't able to find them at my local bookstores :( )

P.S. Whoot. Gotta love good hair/makeup days.
I think we'll learn that we're allowed to have imperfections when we stop being bombarded by imagines, such as this "Scariest celebrity close-ups" http://www.buzzfeed.com/peggy/10-scary-celebrity-close-ups Which is almost entirely encouraging us to be disgusted by beautiful celebrities flaws and/or the make-up they use to cover it.
Also it's a bit of a downer for me to constantly be told that I look "pretty without make-up" only to hear "Oh my god, you look like crap! You must be so tired!" when I spend one day without actual make-up
Astor Bidet Fresh Water Spray Non-Electric Mechanical Bidet Toilet Seat Attachment CB-1000 is only $27. I am sorry this happened to you though, it sounds wretched. Also 'clitty litter' is hilarious!
oh my god i just read the first few chapters and they were amazing!!
to pass off that good fanfiction karma, i suggest you check out the daydverse series. all of them honestly sound like they could've been written by jo rowling herself!
My husband and I resorted to a giant whiteboard calendar, and agreed that if it wasn't on the whiteboard, it didn't exist. Caused a few arguments when he wanted to go gaming but the calendar said dinner with his parents... He came around. Nothing's written in stone, we can decide stuff together, but no more of this "oh I forgot to tell you I'm doing Y tonight instead of X." He learned to write things down pretty darn fast.
If you don't live together, Google Docs might be an alternative, or a family organizing app like Cozi.
With the steam calculator you can quantify your shame! Almost half of my games have never been touched. I just bought a new bundle yesterday.
The rate of diagnosis of depression is actually significantly higher in women: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/depression/in-depth/depression/art-20047725
I'm involved in this field of research and have many theories as to why this is the case, the shit that women have to put up with due to cultural circumstances like this being the leading one.
It is the closing scene from The Breakfast Club.
If you use Google Image Search (On Chrome, right click and select "Search Google for image" or if on another browser you can enter the URL into https://images.google.com/ and select the Camera which defaults to Paste image URL), you can usually get the answer to screencaps from TV or movies.
