I’ve come to appreciate Shuichi’s character more than I initially did, but I still think Kaede was a huge waste of potential- mostly for the Break the Cutie arc you mentioned (though I’d Trade My Life for Yours has a really interesting take on how this might play out- especially as certain tendencies Kaede has start to manifest themselves in...problematic ways).

Komaru is undoubtedly best girl of the franchise and needs some lovin, since I don’t see her around too often. So let’s appreciate Best girl Komaru!

I'm really glad you asked, because explaining how I make memes is pretty fun.

The font is source sans pro, specifically the semi-bold variant

I couldn't find a text box sprite in 1080p, or even in fully assembled. So I ripped individual pieces of it from spriter's resource and assembled it in GIMP.

Anyways, here's the end result of a template. It's a little off, but I think it should be good enough for any custom dialogue.

I think for this meme I made the dialogue box a little to opaque, since traditionally in game it's a little see through. So I fixed it for the template. I would have the music, level, and chapter blank, but I couldn't get the in game font for those (or at least not in a usable format), so I had to use a sprite sheet of the font to create those.

Lastly, if you're going to create your own memes, I recommend using the sprites from Ultimate Talent Development Program, they're much better quality and easier to scale than the other ones (though they don't include full body sprites).

My cakeday is coming up in a few days, and I was planning on "interviewing" myself on that day to celebrate. I've decided to do something a bit different though. A time travel fix-it with Ouma as the POV character. It's excellent with writing in-character and giving the lesser character a chance to shine. Honestly the one V3 story that I really love. The direction it's taking is phenomenal, and the author (who writes a lot of meta on V3) has a great understanding of the characters, most particularly Ouma. Spoilers for the entirety of the game.

I know that Three-Point Shot (https://archiveofourown.org/works/10033658/chapters/22362095) is really popular as well since it's a fic where Kaede continues to live after the first trial, but it's not really to my fancy with how OOC some of the characters came off to me. Still a good read if you want to see a story where Kaede is still the protag.

As for the final trial, could Kaede have made the right call? Obviously, that would depend on a number of factors—who’s still alive? What happened during Chapters 2-5? How jaded has Kaede gotten? The Akamatsu that fell out of the locker at the game’s beginning would have chosen Hope without a doubt, but after being broken and put back together over the course of the game, it’s hard to say what the reforged Kaede’s stance might have been. While I didn't dislike Shuichi's story, I feel like Kaede was a huge missed opportunity to explore some territory DR has never seen before- those that think Kaede couldn’t have developed need to work on developing their imaginations.

I think that this fanfic might fix that urge of yours.

There is a launcher menu for the game before launch (on V3 it's in the steam files for the game), so you can adjust the graphics there.

The steam version does suffer from a lot of optimization issues, so I don't know how beefy your computer should be to avoid them, but as long as you have the minimum requirements, as shown on the steam page, you should be able to run it.

Hell if I know, I just found out about this when I came onto this sub today.

Found the downlowd pages for Android and IoS but it's all in Japanese. I read a review saying a little Japanese knowledge is all you needed to get started but where someone can help you with that, I have no idea. I assume people who aren't Japanese playing this just memorize what to press.

Ah, that's completely understandable. He's one of those characters that in order to enjoy him from the get-go, you need to find edgy humor entertaining. Take me for example, someone who found every moment of his screentime enjoyable because I love characters like that (if you notice a lot of Kokichi fans are also Miu fans, another character with edgy humor). In the end it's all about preference!

I do want to add however it's certain that Kokichi did feel bad after what he did to Gonta, and overall cared for the group. If he didn't, his motive to save everyone (even after almost everyone antagonized him for his efforts to stop the killing game early on) wouldn't make sense

Glad to hear of your interest! Chapter 2's Daily Life is currently in development, with everything else before it technically complete and 'released'. It's being put out bit by bit on itch.io (prologue/daily life/investigation/class trial). This is to minimise file size issues and to ensure there isn't a huge gap between parts ^^

Just a heads up that the prologue is about 98% character introductions, back to back, and is equally linear. There's also a bit of an exposition dump in the opening monologue which touches upon the first season and some of the events that have happened since (I might need to put out a doc summarising the events of 'season one' if this ever becomes a serious thing, but there isn't too much assumed knowledge in this game).

Feedback would be greatly appreciated, especially in terms of the characters! I'm particularly interested in hearing if the S1 references and in-jokes are overbearing. Honestly, the silence is deafening and I have no idea what anyone outside my friend group actually thinks of the game :/

I'd strongly advise doing a short, 1-chapter Twine game for practise. You can get all of the core gameplay of the series into that format and add illustrations easily. Anything more complicated than that and the amount of work will quickly balloon and you'll run the very real risk of never being able to finish and wasting all the effort you've put in.

I wouldn't trust a free VPN, especially one that doesn't offer the OpenVPN protocol as an option. Nothing is free, after all. It might be fine if all you want to do is stream Danganronpa, but anything more than that you should really be using a paid service. You can get for about $40/year with a coupon code. Also, I think many people are legit misunderstanding this, the video brainwashing only happened with the 77th class and the Reserve course, Junko didn't spread the video through the world, by doing what she did with Hope's Peak she turned despair into a meme and memes are infectious

It's not finished, but it's a super good read. The genre is psychological horror, and the author's previous Danganronpa story has the highest number of kudos on ao3 (~2.6k I believe?).

I used color swapping and a few filters on LunaPic, and then a gross amount of recoloring and photo editing on Krita. They're both free programs if you want to try them.
