In chapter 158, the part of the flashback with Chisaki explaining his plan to the yakuza boss, after he rejects the plan you can see Chisaki closing his fist in determination and then in the next panel there's a shadow on top of the suprised boss. Here's a link to the page. So yeah, it is implied Chisaki put the boss in his current state.

Just wanna elaborate that even though it doesn't really matter how you spell their names, I thought I'd clarify a few things anyway (mainly cuz I think learning about other languages is cool and I like sharing info). Basically, Japanese doesn't have an "alphabet" and ō isn't a character they use. Japanese uses a "syllabary" which is to say that each character has a different syllable attached to it (e.g. "a" "i" "u" "e" "o", "ka" "ki" "ku" "ke" "ko", etc.)

That said, when characters have elongated values like zarewna is talking about, some people in the West when translating assign characters like "ō" and "ā" instead of "ou" so people know how it's supposed to be pronounced. In reality, they do have one correct spelling of their name entirely translatable to English if you check. For example, Captn' McSplodey Splode's name is "ばくごう" (ば=ba, く=ku, ご=go, and う=u but when following an "-o" makes an o sound) or Bakugou.

Also as an aside, I had heard that the cast's name were all puns, but I never checked them out till now. Bakugou's name literally means roughly &quot;overpowered bomb&quot; kek

Obviously I couldn't make every single character that appears in the manga/anime but I gave it a good effort. If your best boy/girl isn't present then my apologies.

Astro city (a comic mentioned elsewhere in this thread) has a storyline focused on what can best be described as the call center for the justice league.

People on the phone all day taking calls and figuring out what are emergencies for the heroes and what can be handled by local authorities. Its a damn interesting story, and a way more high pressure job than you might imagine.

Chapter 49 of Lamarckian, a fanfiction (not by me) that departs from the canon here and there, has Full Cowling Deku vs. Todoroki. (And, I'll go ahead and say, the series in general so far has been a pretty fun read!)

Yeah, and not exactly unpopular either. According to Crunchyroll's 2018 in Review, the Boruto anime is one of the top-watched animes in most countries.

I think they key difference here though is that, in essence, Boruto is also somewhat of a continuation of Naruto's story. And Naruto was already one of the most popular series of all time. Whereas My Hero Academia is still relatively new comparatively, a spin-off from a series like that probably wouldn't see the same assistance in name that Boruto got from Naruto.
