I recall that. I remember that the reason cited was he left to do The Transporter movie. I looked up the filming schedules for that film and GoT S4. GoT filmed from July 8th 2013 to Nov. 21st, 2013. It's a really interesting theory and discusses the Azor Ahai theory. I think the fact that they're subtly introducing the AA legend into the show at the same time as they're confirming Jon's legitimacy tells me one thing. The Night King is basically just playing his part in a recurring drama. Look at the way he intentionally overlooks Drogon--the dragon carrying most of the major protagonists, and the one that's just sitting there at point blank range (and carefully framed that way)--in favor of the lesser Visarion, who's a much more distant and moving target. And, for that matter, watch as the White Walker calmly hands him the spear moments beforehand, like a prop from a stagehand.

There is a theory that I read last year that had Dany paired up to the Night King and it was something I hadn’t considered before but now I think is a possibility. The idea is that the previous long Night ended in a pact and this one will too. The current conflict is being caused by an imbalance between the magical elements ice and fire, in order to win the war the heros have to create the balance. To do this it requires the champions of either side to come together and either unite or be destroyed. Dany has been associated with fire throughout the story so she would be fire and the Night King represents the ice side. These two need to come together and either create a union or be destroyed. Considering GRRM prefers a peaceful solution a union could be the outcome. It’ll mean that Dany marries the Night King, becoming the bride of fire to the groom of ice. In order to for Dany to create the union it will require her sacrifice and she’ll be reborn as the Night Queen. Her story will end north of the Wall. That is the idea.

Such as the anticipation of the seasons being fixed. But I am 1000 percent convinced it can only end two ways. There's a really good translation available on Amazon that I read once in a library. It has the original text alongside the English translation, with extensive notes on the context of the poem and why the translator chose to translate the text the way he did.
I'm not sure if it always rhymes the same, since different translators can make different choices about how best to honor the original prose while staying true to the meaning of the text, but there are parts that do rhyme in it.
The version I'm reading now reads like the King James Bible and is hard follow at times, but it was free for my Kindle sooooo -_- So far, the poem's got a lot more depth to it than the video game did.

It's an AU buts it's pretty good , the start is kinda slow because they are really young but it picks up pace around chapter 6-8 >Swayed by the powerful words of a dying queen, Stannis Baratheon takes in baby Daenerys Targaryen as his ward. In the North, Eddard Stark is ordered to raise Jon Snow to wed and dishonor the Targaryen princess, by bringing bastard blood into her line, and ending the Dragons forever.
Robert weds Jon to Dany because he wanted to kill Dany when she was a babe and Ned was against it and he wouldn't let go, so Robert punishes him like that. Jon is squired by Oberyn and Dany is teached how to rule by Stannis and it's basicaly them growing up and at some point meeting eachother , and Jon will probably find his true parentage at some point in the story.

It's an AU scenario where Stannis takes Dany as his ward, and Robert decrees that Dany will marry Jon etc. It has some of the best Ned characterisation I've seen in this fandom, he's still blinkered and politically clumsy but he adapts and he opens his eyes to things like how Catelyn treated Jon and such.

I think all the dragons will be bigger esp. Drogon and UnViserion. It would make the 'Dance' more breathtaking.
