Aww damn, cant believe i'm late to this one, got a good one that didn't happen to me, but I, and probably 70% of my high school got the recording of when it happened. It was recorded by a music student doing a project on acoustics, and the teacher was my history teacher as well, funny awesome guy.
So what set him off was a guy throwing a pen across the room to his friend to write down notes, though it wasn't just that that set him off. The guy who threw the pen was probably the stupidest and sloppiest person of his year, (mind you this was a British private school, so we had a uniform dress code) shirt tucked out, sagging pants, no belt, long hair, using his shoes as slippers by walking on the heels, etc. I know because he was in my car pull.
Well, him throwing the pen was the last straw and the teacher exploded, 3 minutes of pure beautiful insults that made everyone who heard it laugh to the point of tears, I sometimes sympathize with him (the teacher), but he should've kept his cool. He was fired at the end of that day as they took the recording to the headmaster. I was disappointed to find that out, he was the funniest teacher I've ever had.
If this gets enough attention, I will link the recording.
edit - I've never linked a recording, I hope this works, if not I'll try something else. I personally love the chimpanzee part.

"Before It Slips Away" (Studio Version) (Your_poem_as_a_song)
Happy Million Karma, Sam!! This one's for you!!
Thank you for pointing that out, I would have totally misunderstood that! It's sincerely beautiful.
Every time Kidz Bop is brought up, I'm obligated by law to bring up that time some dude on /mu/ torrented a Kidz Bop album and played every song at once.
We have heard the voice of God, and he is crying.
I listened to the whole thing, here is my synopsis:
Discussion begins with a good explanation of Bitcoin and why decentralization is the key to the technology, by Jerry Brito (Executive Director, Coin Center)
Fred Ehrsam (Co-Founder & President, Coinbase) pushes for fair regulation to encourage new companies to compete in the financial sector.
Chris Larson and Karen Gifford, both from ripple labs begin their introduction by immediately shilling ripple technology and how easy it is to track and control user accounts with ripple. When asked about Bitcoin they attempt to explain it by pretending only the blockchain exists and not bitcoin, in the process thoroughly confusing the committee. Essentially they are pretending that bitcoin is useless and all thats important is the blockchain.
"We don't think the world needs a new currency, we already have plenty." -Chris Larson - CEO, Ripple Labs
i.e., we want to be a new centralized trusted third party for existing fiat currencies. -ripple
Again, we see here the false narrative that the only useful thing about Bitcoin is the blockchain. Even though the bitcoin token is the entire backbone which creates the incentive for the decentralized trusted network to exist.
EDIT: Full recording here
I've never felt the need to rhyme
But in my core I feel it's time
To show you that I want to try
Something a little different.
Inside a square-ish hole so tight
I hope this squarer peg feels right
Rhyming now, but fuck this line
My god, I hope it fits.
lol i tried
EDIT: "I Hope It Fits" an Original by (Your_Poem_as_a_song)
I tried to amplify that creepy whispering.. I'm sure I didn't do a very good job.. but from what I could come up with... "By the way..you know how hard it is {blah blah blah} to come to my house and trash it there? hehehe..you're a good little girl" Girl awkardly: "thank you"
I'm sure someone can do a better reduction than I did... any other guesses?
WARNING LOUD
Here it is at the end. Someone's talking at the end in the background wherever the voice actor was recording.
I got confused thinking it was the director from tf2's actual lore
Lol remember the time some guy on here was trying to find this song but couldn't remember the name or artist so he uploads himself mumbling what it sounded like? I saved it before he took it down, gonna try and find it, it's hilarious,..
EDIT: FOUND IT
According to an above protestor, they were there for the "May Day protest/riot"; but you'd be right a lot of the time. It not uncommon for officers around my area -- assuming nothing else is going on -- to gather around particularly stupid/silly things like a bunch of school children in order to amuse themselves.
Edit: It wasn't supposed to be an insult--just the first description that popped into my head; don't think too deeply about the "like school children" part.
I'M DICKIE V BABY! I PUT THE DICK IN THE V, SLAM JAM BAM, DIPSY-DOO DUNK-A-ROO. I'M MR. HIGH RISER, I"M AWESOME BABY! OH BETWEEN THE LEGS BABY! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT BABY! I CAN'T BELIEVE WHAT I'M LOOKING AT! IT'S UNBELIEVABLE BABY! UH OH, UH OH, UH OH, UH OH, UH OH, UH OH. IT'S OVER BABY, IT'S OVER! IT'S OVER.
EDIT BABY:
Decided to do a horrible slice-and-dice audio version. Now I'm no audio guru so it's pretty awful, but I personally am proud of the 'Uh oh' sequence. (Note: the first portion was skipped because I'm too lazy to find Dickie V saying his name or dick).
Here's the last 0.75s of the voice line slammed with compression to exaggerate the director, might help some of you who have trouble hearing it: https://clyp.it/t5o5j20d
EDIT: It's pretty loud, prepare your earholes.

I set up a basic example for you to check out.
The last section of The Handler is a big love letter to the chorus of Showbiz. Drum beat, bassline, chords and texture are super similar.
Here's a rough little clip to give you the idea.
My position on the matter is to abolish all limitations and all prohibitions on individual's right to own property. No matter what it is. Suppressors, magazine size, barrel length, number of rounds fired per trigger pull, caliber, ammunition types, stocks, shrouds, colors. Fill in the blank.
Why? Am I some nihilistic misanthrope? Do I hate the children? Do I long for a world where punk rockers roam the desert looking for fuel?
No.
These "regulators" are not your betters. They are not your parents. They are not your employers, bosses, authority figures, or sovereigns. You are not required to genuflect before them. These people are your agents; you are the principal. The agent does not tell the principal what to do. If an agent has the audacity to do so, you fire them. Unfortunately everyone has forgotten this particular dynamic.

Here's a remake I did right when the movie came out. I didn't use that preset, I just made my own. I didn't treat this like an actual song or anything; I was just playing around. Maybe you guys will think it's cool though. Listening to it now I realize I could've fixed up a lot of things.

Look at this food, my day to cheat
Wouldn't you think this buffet is a treat?
Wouldn't you think I'm the girl
The girl who eats everything?
Look at my stove, pleasures untold
How many wonders can one oven hold?
Looking around here you'd think
Sure, she'll eat everything
I've got cookies and cup cakes a plenty
I've got donuts and ice cream galore
You want sugary sweets? I've got many!
But who cares? No big deal,
I need more
I need to be at a big snack bar
I wanna eat, wanna eat be enchanting
Scooting around on those
What do you call 'em? Oh, scooties!
Using your feet, it just gets too hard
Walking makes me begin wheezing and panting
Riding along in the...
What's that word again?

Why do folks walk, why do they run?
Must they insist to stay in the sun
Being skinny
Wish I could be, part of that world
What would I give if I could live
In bod much hotter?
What would I pay to spend a day
Able to stand?
Betcha' it's grand, not to expand
Holding all of your fat weight in water
S J women, are not winning
Cuz of their glands
I'm ready to go against the status quo
Give them suggestions
Defy their standards
What is science and why should I - what's the word?

When's it my turn?
Wouldn't I love, love to lose weight at a rate I'm proud of?

My first recording (https://clyp.it/eusxalwe) talking about how Bernie's presidency would be gospel for the poor was listened to hundreds of thousands of times. In the tens of thousands of comments I heard people saying they needed more of this. The Sanders Sermons is my attempt to explain in Biblical terms why I support the Bernie Sanders platform. Thank you for all your love and support. I hope these words help in some small way to change the world. [Side Note: Senator Sanders - if you'd like to set up a pre-debate revival meeting at a church in Las Vegas, I would like to be apart of it.]
EDIT: Skip to 12:30 if you want to hop over the reasons why I'm doing this and get straight to the good stuff about immigration.
Let me preface this by saying I'm a hyper-critical piece-of-shit that hates the jazz scene's tendency to pat people on the back and say "yeah man you sounded great!" Your composition is great but it could be a lot more recording wise. Why:
Like /u/notgarysmulyan said, the mix is a bit weird. The horns are too far apart and as a result their harmonies never really mix well. also the bass is way too quiet.
Every single member of this band needs to lay. The fuck. Back. This song would sound a lot more relaxed if the players weren't on top of hte beat like a cap on a bottle. Part of this is exacerbated by the drummer. His swing feel just doesn't feel good. It's at the point where I don't know if this song is supposed to be swung or straight, and that's a problem.
Also when you guys are playing the melody by yourselves (like the piano in the beginning), take liberties! The part that goes 'eighth-eighth-dottedeighth-sixteenth-whole' sounds really, really, unbearably square.
Now, I hate to be a "post my own music" sort of guy, but I've needed an excuse to play the guitar so I recorded a little snippet of what I would like to hear the melody sound like..
All that being said, this is a beautiful composition man! It just needs more of a "human" element to bring it to life. More interpretation with the melody and a more relaxed feel and you've got something that's not half bad.
Actually now that I listen even closer, that's a computerized piano if I've ever heard one. And the drummer, too. And the bassist. No player is that square that consistently. Fuck that shit! You've got a cool composition, find some jazz-playing friends or even just some guys at a local school and tell them you have a song you want to record. Buy them a beer or gas money if you have to, but at the end of the day you'll have a much better recording of a beautiful composition your name.
Going through the new 1.51 sound files and I found these new gun sounds. They sound like a normal single shot rifle, nothing like the other gun sounds. EDIT: This is what they sound like.
With the recent infantry texture updates, Gaijin might be working on further implementing NPC infantry in one way or another.

No work compilation, sorry. But I do have some clips of different stuff online.

I can record something for you, if you want.
Pretty much did exactly what you said--I made two tracks in ableton, one has a drum loop at 126, the other the exact same loop warped to 63 (making it go twice as fast). Then I ramped tempo starting at 63 to 126 while crossfading from the 63 sample to the 126 sample.
I think a lot of it has to do with picking the right drum loop so that the hits mostly line up as you crossfade in. I actually went back with the audio I rendered and hand-faded the loopover point for what I uploaded too, to make it a bit smoother.
Assuming you mean my man Mako from Legend of Korra, I would have to say... Mako's Grandma. Look at that little old lady... Dang she fine!
neither sarcastic or dumb, but ill let it slide
i spent a few minutes synthezing the main sound to get it close and played the right notes to remake the melody, as you can hear:
This is the screen shot of the notes I played. It's a monophonic melody (one note at a time). Chords are groups of (typically three or more) notes sounded together, as a basis of harmony.
http://i.imgur.com/bJoXIaE.png
So yeah there is no chord progression in LPFJ2.
~~Very simple,~~ load up a synth that can do FM, two sines in serial with the 2nd about 1/3 volume, a little stereo separation with spread or unison, and a bit of saturation and compression. no sub. To give the sub more power add a third plain sine an octave lower in parallel. sub. For more movement and dirty sound, put a second sine in serial on the sub oscillator. Really low frequency content should always be pure sine and mono, any time time there is stereo separation and low bass, I either use a mid/side eq to remove all the side sub bass or split the frequency into high and low paths and mono the low. once more, with feeling, gritty This was done in Ableton's Operator.
I made some audio examples for you:

Yeah, the vocal sample saying "That fresh beat is right on time" is Vengeance Vocal Effects vol. 1: Lo-Fi Phrases 50 and the drop is VUF1 140BPM Raiser 40Bars. Seriously made me sad when I found out that Kill the Noise, Skrillex and 12th Planet all sat in the same room and went "yeah let's just use a Vengeance sample for the song eh?"
Hi, native Gàidhlig speaker here. It's an Anglicisation of "Cnoc na Feannagan". A feannag is a crow, feannagan is the plural, and feannaig would be used in a different tense but I don't understand the technicalities of that, just know how to use it :) so aye, it's Crow Hill basically. Here's an audio file of me saying it to answer your question: https://clyp.it/o2q4jjuw
I was listening to one of the Nopie shows (March 4 2013) and Jim has a little intervention with him on the air that was interesting. He says, "You're sending out Bell Curve tweets, face it, you've snapped" and then compares him to Bobby Fischer, how no matter what Bobby only saw the world one way. They probably tried, Ant just doesn't give a shit

Okay, so I'm a phoneticist who specializes in insular Scandinaian languages (specifically Faroese). The consonants and more importantly the vowels don't match up very well. In "vocal" you have /əl/ (dark l in my dialect), in "kull" you have [ʏtl̥] for the "ull" cluster (I've heard many speakers clip out the vowel at a talking pace), which has one vowel that doesn't exist in English and a consonant cluster featuring a consonant that doesn't exist in English, which is going to make it really hard to rhyme with something.
But don't just take my phonetics goobledygood for it, here's both side by side: https://clyp.it/veh2ohda

OSC1 is the default wavetable, Squ-Swl. Pitch is at -48. Wt-position is 100% to the right (on). Intensity is around 75% to the right. Amp is all the way up.
Filter 1 is a Lowpass 4. Resonance is almost 50%, a little bit below. Cutoff is just under 75%.
Voicing's Max is 16, the Unisono is 2. Pan Position is on, Full Inv, 8 little ticks to the right. Polyphonic.
5 LFO is set to sine wave. No sync, rate is a bit below 50%. The LFO is set to the Intensity of OSC1 which spreads out two ways. The green all the way to the right, the faded grey a bit to the left. Image
6 LFO is set to a square wave. No sync, rate is a bit below 50% (Same as the 5 LFO). The wave is a bit off-centered. Image. The LFO is mapped to the Filter 1 Cutoff with the same parameters as the 5 LFO that's on the Intensity of OSC2.
FX1 is set to a C Tube and the wetness is 50%. Drive is a bit above 50%
FX2 has a phaser with the wetness set just under 75% and the rate being a bit under 75%. The rate controls the "wubs"

I wrote a dope-ass rap today about being an Indiehead who has a talent for eating Mexican food:
I've been spendin all my cash/ on more Radiohead merch
eating too much Taco Bell/ now I'm sitting on my toilet and it feels like hell
Well, what can say/ I'd never thought I'd share a stage with Morrissey/ but now I'm out here in LA/ where I will stay to record an album with Dr. Dre
For the longest time, I been on my grind/ not being signed to a major that would recognize
this motherfucking talent that I have/ namely eating Mexican food without getting fat/ cause I'm an Indiehead and I can't really rap/ so what the fuck, give me a fucking chili wrap
If that is the case then I'm fully prepared to add in breaths.

Well....find a sample of old vinyl crackling, like this:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=eipTCsDkuf8
Put that in the background of your mix.
Now put on a hi-pass/low cut filter up to.....say..120hZ (adjust to taste).
EQ the remaining lower end down and bump up the mids.
Pan Nothing. Everything straight down the middle.
Voila! Shitty recording from the 1920s.
edit I realized did something like this on a recent song I wrote:
The intro is the acoustic guitar low cut and gradually lowered so bass comes in before the full song.
At 1:56 I EQ'd the vocal like above so it sounds like old timey radio voice, like in BioShock. I also applied a low-cut filter that gets removed right as the chorus immediately following comes in so you get whomped with bass.

Definitely the most intimidating way I've ever heard "Altima" pronounced.
Find a really nice clean not clipping 808 sub kick that's short, and then synthesize your own 808 bass (literally just sylenth1 sine wave decay all the way no sustain mid release and a little bit of the default distortion, with maybe some low boost)
das how I do eet

Ok but, we do have the stems for ExM. It should in theory be perfectly possible to overlay the isolated vocal of "quarantine the virus" over the instrumental, rather than having to cut in that entire section of the original track. Example.

News article saying Shooter KOA
also apparently 10 DOA, and 20 WOA, though that number still seems to be up in the air. I saw a mention of it being 13 dead, and some of those may be people succumbing to their wounds.
Police are currently withholding the name of the shooter.
At 4:42 you can hear an officer call out shots fired, and that he had engaged in a gun fight with the suspect, unconfirmed that the suspect's weapon is a rifle of some sort.

I understand the point of the ad, but I think getting people to do something on impulse is probably a terrible way to tell them not to do it.
I get the urgency of it, but can't help but think it would be rather unsurprising if the ad actually resulted in a car crash.
I'm not totally sure if reuploading it is fair use, but I am bringing it up for discussion and probably drawing attention to the campaign.
edit: Still think people who text/use their tablet/etc while driving are idiots. I mean even using the phone while driving can be pushing it but at least your eyes can be on the road.
I've recorded a bunch of versions, but I'm afraid my voice just sounds too young. Check it out though.
I dunno if you can download from clyp.it, but here you go: https://clyp.it/3mjnekd4
I think version 6 has the right intonations.
Unfortunately not lol, I'm more of a producer than a DJ, and I don't really feel comfortable sharing my music as it's really old and amateur and stuff. I'm working on new music though, and if you'd like I can share it with you once I complete it :)
Edit : Bounced out a few clips of what I've been working on recently, feel free to take a listen :)
Opeth is my favorite band and this song is one of my favorites of theirs. You may know that they've been performing an acoustic version of this song for a while. That version is fine, but a really cool version is the one they did recently where they did acoustic for the first half and electric for the second half. This is courtesy of /u/kronikwankr. You should also check out /r/Opeth if you like the band a lot.
Uh, I just looked and I have no idea. I'm pretty sure Audible used to have it, because a chapter of it was the sample audiobook that came with the iPod. But I can't find it there now.
Edit: Here's my copy of the sample. It was published by Dove Audio, which might be a bit easier to search for than Douglas Adams.

P.s. you should really hear them.
I attemped to recreate the super saw in sun & moon by Above & Beyond using serum. I haven't touched it in a while, but w/ slight EQ'ing and making the reverb side chained it might be a little closer. Heres another another super saw from a song im working on inspired by Audien. I can explain how to make them if wants to know (I used serum and spire).
Edit: I adjusted the sidechain reverb and midi so its better in this form. I used serum for the super saw, and serum for the bass. The bass is just a sin wave. Because A&B love analog synths (and since the JP8K had a popular super saw) I figured they probably used a similar wave form for theirs. I briefly read through Adam Szabo's thesis on how to construct a super saw (based around the JP8K) in a VSTi. I forgot what it said, but generally took from it to use 7 unison voices, use JP8K wave form, and make sure the detune between them spread out like a super saw (not linearly). The JK8K wave form can be found as a preset wave form for PD-JP8K [7S] (you should save it as a user wave form for easy access later). Set voices to 7. Serum allows you to change the ratio of detune in the global settings (Stack > Super). Make sure the stereo width/spread is 100, and play with the unison voice blend knob until you like what you hear (mine is a the 1 o'clock). I coppied all of that (from osc A) into osc B, and had them both playing. Add a little bit of high end white noise (Audien does this due to high harmonic alising issues, but serum doesn't really have that problem). I also added a little bit of dimension expansion (probably not necissary), distortion, chorus, and a multiband compressor. Thats pretty much it.
Getting the reverb was a pain in the ass and is still a little off. I just a basic side chain that pans to the right as it expands.
Yes
ask the label (you'll need a good reason for them to even remotely consider it)
ask the artist (depends on the artist but I've had luck with this before)
if an instrumental exists with the exact same mixing, you can invert the waveform and use phase cancellation. For example, here are some vocals I extracted from a J-Pop song using this method
if the vocals appear during a break down, surgical EQing can make the vocals a little more isolated but this way will never truly extract them
Hope this helps
Eh why not I'm bored and procrastinating studying.
It's 4AM so I was speaking quietly to avoid waking up my housemates but here's my attempt; hopefully this is okay. Probably should have pre-read it or something if I wanted to get the poetic flow right but I think I got the majority of the pronunciations at least (though I'm sure someone calls me on something).
Every time Kidz Bop is brought up, I'm obligated by law to bring up that time some dude on /mu/ torrented a Kidz Bop album and played every song at once.
We have heard the voice of God, and he is crying.
Vi bruger Audacity, så det kunne næsten ikke være nemmere :P
Det hele startede da jeg fandt en gammel kasettebånds afspiller med speed-control.. og jeg havde tilfældigvis soundtracket til Saturday night fever liggende.
As with all callers, you're totally wrong. He didn't trash the show or call them "douchebags" as you told O&A he did. The whole discussion about them was Carolla wondering why they had called him a douchebag on the air when the only interaction he ever had with them had been cordial.
At no point did he say anything close to "Who even listens to Opie & Anthony, who gives a shit about those guys."
Here's the audio, which is from 8-10-2007:
And here's the audio from 8-08-2007, 2 days before you claim "Adam started this whole thing," of Opie calling Carolla a douchebag on the air:
Opie started the whole thing, and it's likely that he was either lying about what occurred at their meeting in LA, or as I believe, he's such an insecure douche that he perceived it that way.
Probably something to do with it sounding a little bit weird through headphones and the song being totally compromised if you only have one earphone in.
A lot of people listen to music through one earphone and here's what yellow submarine sounds like through just the right channel.
EDIT: Might as well provide the left channel for completeness and also it illustrates the point a lot better because the vocals are almost entirely absent.
Why not see if you can match them up perfectly?!
As for some modern uses of panning in music, I'm sure double tracking is still used on most songs with guitars and probably a lot of vocals too, the only instance of this I can think of off the top of my head is Sufjan Stevens' Carrie and Lowell which I think has a lot of double tracked vocals.
I was going to give a proper explanation of what double tracking is but I'm lazy. I'll provide one if anybody is interested tho.
No need to get all childish, we were having a pretty civilized discussion. NFL rules are hard to fully understand, I don't blame you for not knowing them.
I did some cool synth layering today with a new track I'm working on. I have this supersaw type synth and then gave it a plucky LFO on 1/8 timing (Sytrus btw) and some decay on the whole volume env. Then I sidechain'd that to a Harmor 9 unison saw with chorus. All on the same MIDI notes. And a 3xOsc running 1 noise osc with low noise cut.. And a chiptune-square-ish arp made in Harmor that goes through the four notes of the chord, up. And a nice warm subbass with some overdrive (Sylenth1). I think it sounds pretty cool. (Here's said WIP)
Hey guys! Been lurking for a bit. I've started a 2 piece bass + synth project with my girlfriend. She plays a Moog Little Phatty, and I added the Taurus to round out some of the super loud bottom end. I finished up my board last night and wanted to share my excitement:
Bass chain
> Ernie Ball VPJR -> Demeter Compulator -> Sansamp VTBass -> Aguilar Agro -> RAT -> smallsound bigsound team awesome fuzz machine -> Strymon Flint -> Eventide Space
Synth chain
> KMI 12 Step -> Moog Minitaur
I also included a picture of my little bedroom rig. Sunn Solarus -> Aguilar DB210
Here's a quick droney soundclip with some distortion + reverb + bass pedal synth:
EDIT: Just did a trap one I've done way to many trap tracks before and used a few sounds I've used before. I just looked for a preset that had the word bell in it for the top synth. I kind of messed up the blip and that HEY sound is totally not gangsta haha
HAHAHA this was great https://clyp.it/bqt03mig At least the middle progression didn't turn out as bad as the rest
I did cheat once just to make sure I was playing the right note in addictive drums for the hihat
Well first and foremost I need to address the gracious host of this challenge! HAPPY CAKEDAY, KITTEN!
Now-- to the most sweetly sadistic guy in the world! Yeah, I'm talking about you, /u/cuddly_bear_ !
Adding in an edit since we can shout-out multiple people now:
/u/Ladybonerthrow86 -- I know I don't really know you outside of pestering you about gold stars but I want you to know that I, along with the rest of the community, so appreciate all that you do for us. The amount of time you put forth to mod this amazing place is just incredible. Thank you for choosing to spend so much of your time making sure this sub stays the sanctuary it is for all of us! And sorry for not making this blurb an audio-- I'm not near my mic right now :(
>Is he a Democrat?
He's the longest serving independent in congress who's just running under the Democratic banner to improve his odds of winning the presidency
>staunch Christian woman
This isn't a perfect copy but I think it's good enough for the purpose of this? here
It's relatively simple
I used like 3 clap samples I had cause I layered 2 together (more on the later), you can use as many as you want
The roll is pretty much 5 half notes in a row (the last 4 of a beat and then the first of the next beat) and then on the last one is layered with the normal clap. As for velocity I did a gradual raising velocity but didn't go overboard with it, just a little bit
I layered the normal clap to get a sharper attack but that's up to you
Added some reverb and EQ'd some of the low end and that's it
The sample choice is definitely gonna influence the final sound, if you want it to sound like the one you posted you should get a sample that sounds like the one you posted
I hope this helps
I've recorded an explanation how to pronounce it https://clyp.it/mbhyllko You can also watch some Vice News documentaries about ISIS, and you'll see people there pronouncing it correctly and in the original language.

theres a sermon by an evangelical pastoral counselor and therapist talking about why he supports bernie sanders. i highly recommend it if you want to sway your mother to bernie's side. give it a listen show it to your mother. he makes a strong case for bernie in the religious kind of way. he also talks about being pro-life and not agreeing with gay marriage but still wanting to support bernie because the overall message of bernie's campaign is much greater than those things https://clyp.it/eusxalwe
There is no one way to do it if that's what you're asking. Layering synths just means that you're stacking two synths that are slightly different to each other to create one new sound.
For example just by using a synth that has several oscillators (like, Massive can have 3) and activating them, you're layering already.
Your example of detuning the sounds is what's used when creating supersaws (look it up) for example. Basically, when you have two identical synths that are playing at the same you will only get an increase in volume but the sound will be the same.
When you're detuning them, the waveforms will "combine" to form a new sound that is very different.
Here's an example. The first two chords are just one single saw osc. After that I added two (quieter) that were both detuned. One was detuned 5 cents down and the other 5 cents up. As you can hear the sounds started to "move" and it got wider and lost some of it's edge. This is basically a supersaw.
But that is only one way of layering. You could for example combine two totally different waveforms and that alone would make a big difference. Detuning that will yield very different results too.
the "th" sound you're thinking of is the letter Þ, but that is afaik only used in icelandic. Icelandic also has the ð letter, which is pronounced like a soft 'd' i belive (i don't actually know much icelandic.)
In faroese however, the ð letter is always silent. It's a bit weird, i know, but it's important for distinguishing how the surrounding letters are pronounced. (Also, in some cases it is used to distinguish the spelling of two words that are pronounced the same. Ex: Veður/Vegur, meaning Weather/Road repectively.)
Anyway, back to the word. I don't really know how to explain it to you in an understandable way. So here's a recording i made just for you! Enjoy :)
"If 21 Is Old" (Your_Poem_as_a_song)
Happy Cake Day, Sprog
I've only tried rapping one other time in my entire life and let's just say there's a reason why.
I know that feeling! I had a musician mentor who told me how important it is to set aside the 'self-critical editor' in you for the 'artistic creator' within you. And sometimes the hardest part is realizing when you're being one and not the other.
Just giving you an update. I was inspired by this post here and tried out a bunch of pedals. Turns out /u/tacositter had the right idea. With all the double button pedals, this board is extremely versatile. About to put the rest of my stuff up on craigslist.
Signal chain is
Bass / Guitar Chain
> Ernie Ball VPJR -> JHS Morning Glory -> Caroline Kilobyte -> Chase Audio Warped Vinyl -> OBNE Procession -> smallsound bigsound team awesome fuzz machine -> Eventide Space
Synth chain
> KMI 12 Step -> Moog Minitaur
Here's a clip showing how I use the synth with bass (headphones / speakers required, you won't hear the subs on your laptop)
Yep, I made an audio comparison to show the difference.
I've had 2 Filcos and difference is immediate. I've a list:
I feel kind of bad as WASD provide a very unique service: huge range of switches, keyboard types, keycap options and they fit it all for you, including o-rings plus the delivery turnaround was fast (I'm in the UK). It is still a good quality keyboard and blows your typical rubber domes out the water, it's fantastic for anyone's first mech but where you could say it's a BMW, the Filco is a Rolls-Royce .

edit 2: as all the links keep getting taken down, I'd recommend learning how to rip the mp3 off the website by inspecting element so you can save it to your computer
I'm gonna arrange it as though the top line on the staff is the one missing and get back to y'all. (also, let's imagine that it's in C major for simplicity's sake).
I'm from Louisiana as well, and perhaps this is part of the problem: https://clyp.it/4idc5ba2
This is an audio recording of Oct. 27th, 2015, meeting in the sheriff's office in Beauregard Parish (where I'm from) in which deputies are coerced into supporting the sheriff's re-election campaign. Deputies told to provide phone numbers of potential voters, are threatened that they "can be let go for any reason at any time", and told that, when deciding for whom to vote, "the next time you look at your paycheck, you better figure it out."
Despicable.
