I want more house.
And Nu Disco. And Glitch Hop. And Happy Hardcore. And Bounce. And Trance. And Tristam's LP. And Tut Tut Child's EP. And Rezonate. And Rogue's LP. And more house. I want more
Cymatics is a quite new Company that sells samples, loops and presets. Recently people have started noticing that cymatics stole drum samples from Must die, skrillex, barely alive and many more.
Today i spotted the conversation on Matt's facebook page and i asked Matt what he thought about the fact that they stole samples. He was pretty convinced that they did not sample any big artists, but he still checked the Terror drums pack out. After that he quickly realised that many of the snares we're using a snare he made. The post was deleted quickly after this and i'm pretty sure they payed him to stay quiet, or else he just don't care.
My problems:
> 1. The font doesn’t match up to what’s in the video. For some reason. > 2. The white border is too thick and distracting, especially when it’s dark… > 3. The branding — in general — is kind of just thrown in there at the corners, which I find weird.

✌ Finally had some time to do this, since it’s the holidays, adding onto my pile of monstercat designs lol
Most artworks are done by the Monstercat Design Team (led by /u/connellmccarthy) that also do things like album arts and stuff
However, some artists (like Puppet, specifically) hire other artists to do their songs (notice how all of Puppet's artworks seem to always have the same design) and sometimes the MDT will follow patterns in the arts (Glacier's floating island artworks, Notaker's "view" artworks, Rootkit's sort of paint-y artworks, etc.)
Noisestorm, however, makes his own arts using Unreal Engine 4, an engine that can make almost realistic pictures and video games to make his arts (done it since Heist, I think)
EDIT: some artworks are done by the community and will sometimes/rarely be admitted, and sometimes the creator will join the team (the guy that made the art for Trivecta - The Vale was admitted to the team)
Valkyrie II? It has that nice in the beginning sound but then gets more brutal. Plus I think it would be more acceptable to people who don't listen to EDM.
EDIT: If you want I made several mash ups for you with both Valkyries.... If Varien/Mcat doesn't want this to be open I will delete it asap.

Sorry for title fuck up guys, pls forgive me.
Welcome to the latest Monstercat release on Spotify! Don’t worry if the track isn’t playing for you, it just means it isn’t available in your country yet. Follow these steps to get it working:
Well it's really up to you if you want to stop listening at home but when you say he checks traffic, do you mean like sniffs the network or checks browser history?
Browser history is easy, you just have to clear it. Traffic sniffing you can get around by using a vpn / proxy. There's a couple free ones out there if you want to give em a try:
There are many different meanings for the word Doji, one of them being: > 同事: the same event; no change
That is why it's similar to Possession. And no the cover art ideas won't run out.
They are not public, they only give it to members from Monstercat or artists (even artists from outside the label), look on Monstercat instagram posts, you will see the plushies

ask the label (you'll need a good reason for them to even remotely consider it)
ask the artist (depends on the artist but I've had luck with this before)
if an instrumental exists with the exact same mixing, you can invert the waveform and use phase cancellation. For example, here are some vocals I extracted from a J-Pop song using this method
if the vocals appear during a break down, surgical EQing can make the vocals a little more isolated but this way will never truly extract them
Hope this helps
Because more than one person in the world use the word Puppet as their artist name. Idk how Spotify usually handles this as I don't use it myself, but I know that Beatport usually group all artists with the same name under the same page. Here's an example. To avoid this, artists usually add their country after the artist name to make sure that their page doesn't merge with an existing one. That's actually what they did with Puppet on Beatport.
I like how "Trustworthiness" in WOT is "Unsatisfactory." Clearly someone didn't get it was a satire site.
Guys, CHECK THIS OUT

This COULD be the new Slumberjack preview? Sounds like something they would produce (Arabic Trap)
Also sounds like Nevve is featured on this track.
Theory: Slumberjack - Shotgun (feat. Nevve?)
Honestly, the free version is probably all you need. It comes with everything in the $99 version (Fruity Edition), the only catch is you can't re-open saved projects. So if you're using it just for kicks, it's really good for just tinkering for a few hours, make a loop and export it. However, if you think youd work a little "more" on the projects, Fruity has everything a beginner needs.
Also, there's no pros or cons to upgrading versions later. If you end up wanting a higher version, you just pay for the difference, so really there's absolutely no loss if you start off with the lower editions and upgrade later to the higher ones.
I personally used the free version for around 6 months before deciding to get serious and upgrade to Producer (and later Signature) Edition.
Here's a link to the feature comparison of each version.
Hope that helps!
I really want https://hearthis.at/ to take off. It seems to me like it's doing the job much better than SC ever did.
I also use Clyp.it a lot but that's really more like a pastebin for sounds than a social media site.
Zenmate is a proxy 'vpn', if you download the free addon and set the country to the US or UK, you should see the videos. What you maybe also have to do is to be see what country YouTube is put on on the bottom on the page. If you use it on incognito mode I think it will do it itself, but I'm not sure.
If you have an Android device, you can do the same thing I did
I used the app Story Save (made by the same person who made the popular third party Snapchat app, Casper) and downloaded the stories and uploaded them to my YouTube account, as unlisted videos
Do tell me if I need to change the videos to where there are public rather than unlisted if the playlist shows no videos
Cheers
YO guys so the party has been so wicked. So pleased everyone had such a great time. Everyones been so crazy good aaaah.!!!! Okay so I moved my mix to MixCloud, if you wanna hear it, find it HERE https://www.mixcloud.com/richard-caddock/richard-caddock-url-2015-mix/ <3
Awesome collector's item! For anyone interested, I found the item on Amazon! You can grab it here
Get the Zenmate chrome extension and set your location to Hong Kong (it should work by now if it's midnight there) and set your location in your spotify profile to Hong Kong also, and it should work.
Edit: it's after twelve there, you should be good
I'm probably going to add a progress bar soon, then later replace it with an audio spectrum if that's even possible.
Yea
Question: "you preview so much amazing shit on insta, you ever gonna release any of it?"
Grabbitz: "yes. All of it will be released; were working on finding the best and most efficient ways to release each piece."
Source: https://instagram.com/p/ziAi6ho5H0/?taken-by=grabbitz
I have been in touch with him yesterday and he sent me a link to his behanced account. This guy is straight up amazing. Really inspirational. I wanted to do something in his style and came up with this: https://gyazo.com/8ac91f94dd7c241adc9c7a5cd5dfbe6d
Which i think is pretty great already. Once you got the settings right its really easy to do. But figuring those out is a pain.
After hearing /u/joxbelly's entry, I now see what I'm up against and how hard it may be to win. Good luck to all! ;)

Edit 2: Forgot to add the mashup and timestamps into the tracklist. It's there now. Enjoy! ;)
This is my mix. It's a Big Room only mix, meant for festivals or parties I guess. Tracklist:

^Edit: ^Tracklist ^formatting.
That's true, but if memory serves me correctly, the preview is of the track when it was near completion in 2013 so there's a possibility it's changed since then. For those who want to hear it, it's the first track in this mix. Obvious spoiler, btw.
Use Classic Shell (or download from Ninite) and mess with the settings until you can get it to work like the Windows 8 (8.1) start button (or not if you want!).
Mhm, ShareX is a lot more versatile than Gyazo or puush or any other quick screenshot program. It records good gifs and uploads immediately to gfycat but it does take a bit. Same with screenshots to imgur (anonymously). You can also set it so it copies the link automatically and change which websites to upload to. Overall very good. https://getsharex.com/
I'd recommend listening to some hard trance. Here is an incredible label with very fast aggressive trance tunes.
EDIT: Nvm, the track he linked is also hard trance. It's a great subgenre IMO though. So underrated
P.S - Some ISP don't like torrents, specifically seeding, so just be aware of that.
Exactly. The people using Hola are the same people who wouldn't pay for VPNs. People use Hola because it's pretty reliable and fast. Zenmate is pretty popular, but it slows down your Internet more. Not sure if it has the same malicious intent as Hola, though.
A breakbeat remix of my good friend Kaynein's track "Serenity" that released on his new EP the other day]
Edit: Here's a WIP, I would love some feedback. Thanks :)
Titans to Children of the Night
At the end of the first drop of Titans, speed up and sync up the vocals that say "we're the children of the night"
I made a rough transition of it a while back for the Monstercat podcast mix competition but it could be transitioned better with a proper program (I just used SOny Vegas)
https://www.mixcloud.com/AUKronos/monstercat-podcast-mix-contest-kronos/
go to 1:16 for the transition. I think these two songs work so magically.
If you can replicate that but better, that'd sound so sick
I remember from the mix contest hearing someone use Cosm as the opener and transitioning into Invisible, which was I thought was quite creative
Monstercat webpage relies on Amazon Web Services for storage and downloads... Amazon S3 is used as a CDN here, and maybe there could've been a partial outage in the server that's closer to you atm. "Closest" mirrors are from London and Ireland (you can check them here).
Although I must say it sometimes goes pretty slow for me too, specially in large downloads, so whenever that happens I just cancel it and keep trying.
Imgur isn't working for me, so sorry for the shitty site. Anyway, I don't have any selfies of tap, but I love this one from when I went to San Francisco in senior year. I look pretty different now.
Alright, finally got my mix done! Here it is. Also, good luck to /u/noisestrikeofficial :)

like i said old mixes from months ago, StreaK doesn't have much on his page anyways and that was right after the Mix Contest, so really it was boredom and having a new hobby. it's not like he doesn't listen to other music its just what he chose bruh
E: And if you want "WIcked Bangers that no ones heard before" another guy i know does that https://www.mixcloud.com/Gamerado/unheard-podcasts-episode-07/
And another thing i tried recently i guess is a bit more diverse than other stuff i've done(
I have to say, after the first one I thought I had no chance, but after some of the later ones... they were just so "meh" to me personally. Voting for either Redza or Buttons.
Mine just because never shared it anyway.
This will auto convert the times and answer your question: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?msg=Monstercat+016+-+Expedition+%28Free+Release%29&iso=20140226T12&p1=137&ah=2
if not Reunion 2.0 or Momentum (as /u/KubaMC suggested) my vote goes to calling it Waypoint to be a reference to the Halo series (because ... Halo ... Reach ... The Covenant ...) and also > a waypoint is a reference point in physical space used for purposes of navigation. ~ Wikipedia
which fits well into the story of the album arts because Monstercat is currently on an expedition, therefore navigation is needed :)
For the windows users here you can try mine Plane9. Start the configuration window. Click new playlist. Select the "monster spectrum" and the "black" scene as background. Then from the start menu run it in windows mode and it will work with iTune or any other sound source.
Use Streamlink instead. No need to get a client id from a API, merely run the following:
streamlink twitch.tv/monstercat audio_only
And you are golden, no logging in or anything. It will play in whatever media player you have installed, VLC works best.
You can also type best
or worst
instead of audio_only
if you want the best or worst quality video streams.
EDIT: Forgot Livestreamer was discontinued and replaced with Streamlink, updated
Well since we're talking about where Sandstorm would fit in a graph based on Beatport genres, I checked and Beatport has Sandstorm labeled as Trance.
Anyone on Monstercat remixing anything from Far Too Loud's Faster Than Light Ep. It would be cool it they were remixed by Rootkit, Fractal, or Favright. I think they could do something really cool with what these tracks will give them.
They release Deep House as well.
They also have the odd release of another genre, and they signed Candyland's Bring The Rain EP on top of that.
Most of their releases are Big Room, sure, but they have more up their sleeve than that.
I can't read wunderground on my phone :(
EDIT: lmaoooo
>I’d heard rumours of a genre like that from somewhere out east that was said to be so fast the song finished before you even moved your feet and left your brain trembling inside of your skull after you listened to it.
I'm gonna try to make that
EDIT: I did it
It's as I feared :( The version of Dreams on the Podcast was the final version.
Listen to the preview he put out here. Tell me that the overall sound of that doesn't sound better than the new version.
Don't get me wrong I like the song, and I prefer the vocals by Laura, it just could have been sooo much more IMO.
Overall its a pretty damn good EP and "Escape" is awesome.

guys just respect each other please despite any differences. bullying shouldn't even be tolerated in any community big or small. we're all family here 🙏
Not at all done Don't exactly know what genre it is and I need to fix the vocals on the first drop and probably change the ones on the second drop. And the song also runs for an extra 20 seconds for some reason. Whoopsies. Much feedback appreciated!!
Yesss I'm definitely gonna enter this. I mean, I make music podcasts weekly on Audacity, I am NOT a professional but it will be fun to participate! EDIT 2 (16/10): Here's my second cut, new songs, tempo changes and I've re-ordered the existing songs to give it a more consistent, balanced tone. As ever, please feedback! https://www.mixcloud.com/jacob-heayes/monstercat-mix-contest-2016-wip-v2/
Bustre - Everything's Different to Rameses B - Mountains is really good
Example of it in use (by me): https://www.mixcloud.com/SolaireMusic/rmonstercat-production-contest-mix-solaire-entry/ (starts at the beginning of the mix and the transition starts at around 3 minutes)
Bustre - Combine to Muzzy - Lost Metropolis works almost perfectly imo
Here's an example of it being used (by me): Same link as before (starts at like 11 minutes in and the transition starts at around 14 minutes in)

it's a bit late for me to start making anything for this competition, but I figured I can at least share some of my resources for any interested producers. here are four Serum patches I made using the "BASS COMP" stem file that you can use however you want. they sound almost identical to the original patches in the root notes*, but also pitch up and down gracefully (for a few semitones). if you're going to be heavily manipulating the pitch I recommend morphing the wavetables; there's no morphing by default because that sounds best for the root note.
best of luck if you're entering! :)

(moved this post out of its own thread because it probably belongs here)
ah fuck it, why the fuck not. this is a track i've started last week on the train. This is the first time i've used ableton for production in about two years and i'm trying to get used to it again (the last two years i've been using FL). Please keep in mind i've only heard this on shitty earbuds so things will be off, but the general idea is there.

This is not my file i had found it but i later realized how old the file was and since it was made before monstercat became that much more popular and 3d printers were lower quality and much more limited.
You can add custom code in WP. The design/development firm I was working with was Creativedash (https://dribbble.com/creativedash) and they claimed that it would be possible to do through Wordpress..hmm
I'm really sorry, this mistake happened on my end. Neither CloudNone, Paul Aiden or the Monstercat team had to do with this. I honestly didn't see this while working on the artwork.
Note this wasn't purposefully drawn. The image of the graffiti is a mirrored stock image found here
Hope you will understand and I'll try my best to carefully check every image from now on.
I believe I have fixed the issue now, for some reason I had though it was a good idea to automate between two slightly different chord patterns and the volumes didn't match up accordingly. Also, how are you saying I should mix the vocals?
Here's an old Future House mix I did earlier this year. Mixing is not good but I pride myself more on track selection anyways. Hope you enjoy.
Hello. I'm not in top8 so I think I could improve my skills. Can someone tell me what's wrong with my mix and give me some ideas. ;) https://www.mixcloud.com/Iglaa/monstercat-podcast-mix-contest-iglaa-reupload/ Don't ask why I reuploaded it D: Greets
When is the 2 hour long special edition podcast for voting? Is it going to be 070?
..If anyone's interested, this is my entry
Was up til 3AM last night working on this. The transition from BTM to Apollo is a little off, but I had to make some compromises to meet the 15 minute cap. I managed to fit 14 songs in here, somehow though! Please give me all your feedback, as it's very appreciated. Thanks!

It's actually also the first time I've mixed something, which you might be able to hear...
Hope you like it anyways.

Check this out guys, tons of mashups, tons of genres, tons of monstercat
Now that's a bad kitty. (The breaks mashup was really REALLY hard to do cleanly)
Hey, why the hell not share it?. Worked loads of hours since Friday making 5 iterations, each one taking the best of the last, and this is the result, and boy, was it fun to make!
Tracklist:
0:00 Summer Was Fun - Watching (feat. Colordrive)
2:03 Tristam & Rogue - Flamewar
3:54 Muzzy - Letz Rock
6:06 Tut Tut Child - Maelstrom

8:43 Hellberg - The Girl (Stonebank Remix)
10:36 Stonebank - The Pressure

This is my first entry for anything Monstercat related.
I tried to find some of the latest releases i really enjoyed, as well as some other releases i really enjoyed in 2014, like Orbit, and Messiah.
Really hope you guys will listen to my mix, just have it open in the back, and enjoy! :)
Hey all! Hope you enjoy this mix. Most of the material is very experimental. I tried to mix genres and emotions in a creative way. Hope you dig it. https://www.mixcloud.com/alex-marshall6/monstercat-podcast-mix-contest-alex-marshall/
Those are actually some solid transitions, i think you might be in the top 8 man! Realty Good! Do you mind checking mine out? https://www.mixcloud.com/harris_kid/monstercat-podcast-mix-contest-dj_harris/

I think it's pretty good if I do say so myself. ;) I have mixed before, quite a bit in fact since I make a lot of videos with music on them.
Here's my entry. I really hope the Monstercat team will like it. I would also really like to know what you think of it :)
https://www.mixcloud.com/SylenteNight/monstercat-podcast-mix-contest-sylente-night/
I have made mixes before, but this one is probably my favorite. Watch out for the transition from Hero (Teminite Remix) and Bring The Madness (Trinergy and Tim Ismag Remix). It's a sort of mini-mashup that I made during the process of mixing, and I'm really happy with how it turned out. Can't wait to hear everybody else's mixes, too!
EDIT: All feedback (kind or otherwise) is encouraged. Thanks!
I tried to keep it straightforward and simple, plus, I'm happy I managed to get Skifonix in mine if i'm honest <3 anyway,
https://www.mixcloud.com/AltEvoMusic/monstercat-podcast-mix-contest-alternate-evolutions/
This is about my 4th version I went through. Much happier with this one. Covers 4 genres. https://www.mixcloud.com/ktfreak4jesus/monstercat-podcast-mix-contest-blake-inkrot/
This was all made live on my DDJ-SX
Just finished up my mix.. took quite awhile to find the right songs. Here it is:
https://www.mixcloud.com/GamerHaste/monstercat-podcast-mix-contest-haste/
The transitions are all very good, I did the best I could possibly do. If a song wasn't quite working out, I would scrap it, then if that song wasn't blending well with others, I would scrap 2-3 songs. I am a frequent listener of more intense generas, such as DnB, dubstep, and drumstep. During the entire mix, I used songs like The Phantom and Snake Eyes to keep the energy flowing. This is one of my first mixes that I am really proud of.
Hope you guys enjoy! :)
Here's my mix guys! I tried to use slow downs and speed ups in the transitions since those are some of my favorite types of transitions that are on the podcast!
https://www.mixcloud.com/Duven/monstercat-podcast-mix-contest-duven/
Here's mine! Any feed back is appreciated! I'm pretty happy with the Parallax x Awesome to The Max mashup and The Divide and Pounce transition.
I think at the points where the drops are playing there isn't an issue, since it's mostly non melodic content. At the point where it changes the grabbitz vocal just cuts out which is kinda jarring I think. If it goes out more naturally I would say that the key change shouldn't be a big deal.
if it's ok to give an example that I've done, listen to the transition from Bad pitched to Triumph at the end of this. originally the key change sounded horrible, but with a lot of fadeouts, reverb, and trial and error I got it to a state where I think it isn't actually an issue that the key changes at all.
people are posting theirs, so I guess there's no shame in plugging ours.
Never done anything like this before, but none the less this was a blast to make, and hopefully is great to listen to as well.
Enjoy,
~ A \ E L /A
Made a mix a few days ago - It's mostly for practice but I'm happy with it!
https://www.mixcloud.com/BedfordFalls/monstercat-podcast-mix-contest-bedford-falls/
Any feedback and advice would be much appreciated :)
Originally, the second track in the mix was Legends, but I had to replace it due to copyright.
