Spot on about going somewhere with good music. When I hear DJs playing top 40 radio songs, it instantly ruins my experience. I might just be really pessimistic or elitist, but unless it's techno/tech house/minimal/deep I can't enjoy it or dance to it.
edit: currently tuning into Luciano's Ibiza set from a few days ago. I'll stay at clubs till day break if this is going down...
fuck everything
EDIT: if you want to start listening to prince but don't know how to dive in since it's hard to find anything, listen to this mix https://www.mixcloud.com/pablodiscobar/dj-u-tern-the-purple-mix-prince-favorites/
done. soundcloud is a gigantic piece of shit site and it's not loading for me but ill try mixcloud
edit:
Dave and Stephen are just about the biggest Bowie fans there are and the respect was mutual. Bowie was one of the first profound fans of their 2manydj's compilations, partly because they played him so much and they needed his clearance for the samples. Bowie's appraisal of As Heard On Radio Soulwax Pt. 2 made sure the British press got a hold of it and the rest is history. He later invited them as guests in a French tv music in honor of Bowie's career, together with Françoise Hardy and Damon Albarn. When the show host asked if Soulwax would ever remix Bowie Stephen spontaneously shouted no, they could never dare to touch Bowie's work as it was perfect. He's regretted saying that ever since.
The first time 2manydj's got to play as headliner on the main stage of a major rock (!) festival (Rock Werchter 2004) - probably one of the first dj sets of its kind - was to replace David Bowie, who had cancelled due to health concerns. They opened with Rebel Rebel. To me it has remained a big symbol of how Stephen and David (and friends as DFA and Erol Alkan) demolished the walls that long existed between the rock world and the dance world, just as Bowie and Eno did long before them.
They initially asked Bowie to play a few scenes for this film but he was already too ill at the time, even though he wanted to. Dave was on national radio this morning and he was audibly shaken.

Greetings from Vintage Obscura. Every year, we all put on costumes and try to find the strangest dark and comedic Halloween music from the decades. We have a big drop off thread and then it is compiled in one or two mixes. This is the first side of a two side mix. The next side is being released in a week. Here is the tracklist for this side.
>The Ghouls - Be True to Your Ghoul [1964]
>Duane Eddy - Stalkin' [1956]
>Jason Crest - Black Mass [1969]
>Paul Jones - Music Box [1969]
>Sir Henry And His Butlers - Cosmorama [1968]
>The Idle Race - Skeleton & the Roundabout [1968]
>Bruno Nicolai - Sequence 1 [1971]
>Dean Gitter - Anne Boleyn [1957]
>Leola Manning - Satan Is Busy In Knoxville [1930]
>Francois De Roubaix - Les Dunes D'ostende [1971]
>Robbie The Werewolf - Vampire Man [1964]
The A Side leans more on the psych with four great cuts that seem to meld into each other sparsed with lo-fi folk that sounds like it was made in 2010. Next Monday's mix leans more towards R&B and electronic. If you were interested in past mixes they are located here,
If you wanted to ever check out r/vintageobscura it is a great place with a lot of weird people who find some really killer stuff.
Bonjour /r/france !
Ping /u/Hakim_Bey /u/Lynnou
Ideas that should be a shoo-in for a win here...
I'll get another /r/soundsvintage mix out the door, /u/kaptain_carbon will do another /r/vintageobscura mix.
It will be very interesting to see what happened, but check this out. Brad Pickett was on the OFT podcast on Sunday and when asked his opinion on the season he says it wasnt happening. Said he had a fighter tryout and its not going to happen. Mentioned DJ being unhappy, not sure if thats the reason but worth a listen. Listen at 43 minutes for when he says it. 38:50 for the start of the interview.
What are you, a cop?
Lions of Rojava is pretty open that most foreign nationals deploying to Rojava fly into Suleymaniyah and then head northwest to the border. Often times, its a boat crossing at night. So, you can also a assume light arms and RPGs make it that way.
I believe Jordan Matson said there were like 27 gun trucks intended for the YPG that the KRG was holding at the border indefinitely and not letting them cross. If KRG would let those across, maybe folks would be less skeptical of the "Rojava Peshmerga" (Or more accurately the Barzani/KDP Peshmerga made up of Syrian Kurds). But maintaining a boycott and wanting to send in its own militia is very sketchy.
So...... First episode of the podcast is up! Please check it out and tell us what you think!
Most Spreadsheets Per Capita: a Reddit New Zealand Podcast
Special thanks to /u/AH74 for the intro string :D
I can confirm: grown men in costumes, great music. Will be up till at least 1am CET+1
EDIT: They are on Mixcloud if you wanna check some of the sets they did recently. HIGHLY recommended xD https://www.mixcloud.com/DieH%C3%BCbschen/

I'm going to indulge in a shameless self plug; I've been hosting a hip hop radio show on a local online radio station and I'd love it if any of you would have a listen. I'm relatively new to it so my presenting still isn't perfect but I know you'll love the music https://www.mixcloud.com/ioradiouk/beat-street-with-aaron-caley-at-io-radio-120815/
Ziemlich oldskool also. ;)
Aber ihr müsst genießen, nicht konsumieren. ♥

Edit: Apparently it's the demo version and NGHTMRE is going to officially release the remix this upcoming monday!

I assume it's a six letter password, and the head/brain is the key.
6 letter words I can quickly come up with would be:
>Brainy
>Noodle
>Noggin
>Belfry
>Cortex
>Glials
>Neuron
>Neural
>Wisdom
>Mental
>Brains
Considering the appearance of a terminal, a brain, and the franchise's retro atmosphere, John von Neumann's The Computer and the Brain could also be relevant. I don't have time to look into it that much, at least for now.
I also found this, which could very well be nothing.
If you have any ideas or questions, drop me a message and I'll get back to you after work.
Edit: Quick additions to word list. Loads of stuff to keep me busy, but I'll get back to this if necessary.
He's a really cool dude, really embraced Seattle and has excellent taste in music.
I'm not 100% pleased with how the story went because I ran out of time, but here it is. My first week on Trail.
His playing days were way before my time, but as a child who grew up in the 80s and early 90s Saint and Greavsie was a must watch TV show.
Get well soon Jimmy. It's a funny old game, and it wouldn't be the same without ya.
Oh, and he's in the Dean Windass Hall of Fame which fans of the Ramble will be familiar with. It's a ten minute profile.
Of course! Leroy Peters and Michael Degrace are the kings of houston. SOME was a special time and one of the last good clubs in Houston.
I started dj'ing in the early 90s, have amassed a massive mix tape collection from all the Houston hot spots - going back to Pete's Wildlife in the mid 80's.
Enjoy, I've been digitizing stuff lately and uploading: [edit: hit my profile on mixcloud for side B and some other tapes]

Full disclosure, I'm the guy stumbling over my words trying to ask questions. Ortega was the first person I interviewed for my little radio show, and I was pretty nervous as I am a huge fan. The full episode includes some artists recommended in the interview, if you're interested: https://www.mixcloud.com/ron-sly/lindi-ortega/
The rationalizations within this post is immense! However since you're still young your brain has not fully developed and you are using your best known mechanism to formulate thought.
Anyhow,I've been a deejay for over 30 years and know many other Muslim deejays and can say the club environment is not best environment for one's imam. Especially EDM clubs unlike environments for other music like Soul/Funk or underground Hip Hop, the EDM scene has always been rampant with drug use.
The fact you felt the need to ask the question is proof you know there is something wrong with the idea.
As for me, I stopped playing live years ago. Now thanks to the internet I can make mixes and place them on mix sites like mixcrate, mixcloud, etc. That way I can play the music I like without being in an environment that can have deleterious effects on one's iman.
Could easily see this being used a visual for some minimal techno! Nice one OP!
EDIT: Clicked play on one of my bits from earlier this week and full screened this. It works nicely :)
My bad dude. Here you go.
https://www.mixcloud.com/Draz-B/the-best-of-j-cole-part-1/
The first part was only 8 tracks so I thought I'd put together 16 this time around.
I have been DJing for about 4 months now and it sucks how fucking hard it is to get gigs. Especially when you're relatively introverted and play niche genres. People say you need to be up for giving a ton of blowjobs if you want gigs, BUT IF IT ONLY WAS THIS EASY.
Well at least I have this one gig at an Electro Swing festival coming up which I am pretty excited for!
Does anyone else here spin?
Excuse the shameless plug but I play mostly stuff like this on our radio show
All corners of dnb but with more of a push to the sounds of yesteryear with proper breaks and bass to make your teeth vibrate
You can check out the recordings of the shows here:
https://www.mixcloud.com/vapour36hertz/
You should also check out the stuff we release on 36 Hertz Recordings as again its in the kind of vibes your talking about
Audio for all of our releases are here:

Again sorry for the shameless self promo :)

It's my MixCloud becaue I'm a DJ. I mainly play EDM but this week (once Metallica's new album drops) I'll be doing a metal mix, and there's some hiphop and pop on there already.
Thing is, I'm really bad. But I've still got plenty of followers and people following me for some reason. Idk. Might just be my good track selection. Once I get the technical skills down for transitions, I should be pretty good.
Just wanted to say that it's been really great to have the podcast back again! Especially because it is putting me back into a regular RGD schedule again. Important note, the time of the podcast has moved to 12-3pm PST and hopefully you can join in and share your art and chat with each other. Previous Episodes can be found here. Sorry the channel link is sloppy as hell. Youtube isn't letting us have our domain name until there are a hundred subscribers, which is weird. Previous soundtracks to the show can be found here.
An IRC would be awesome, admittedly I made one over in the Lounge and totally haven't checked up on it in a while...I wonder if anyone is there. I think a direct RGD IRC could have some good traction.
Reddit Artist Network is a great resource! /u/meatyelbow and /u/macanthony put a lot of work into getting that going, it was really connecting a lot of artists, especially through tumblr.
Thank you RGD mods and thank you Sgt_Mary_Mary for being so supportive of the podcast! Let's see how many more artists we can get to connect with each other! :D
Dec 07, benga / ntype on his wheel and deal show! Incredible set! Also, laxx has a nsd mix real eased last year I think.
LINK ADDED!!!!
N-Type b2b Benga - Rinse FM - 25-Nov-2007
Was searching around on Who Sampled Who checking if Deltron 3030 sampled Handsome Boy Modeling School (they totally did) when I stumbled upon this seemingly super random interview with the co-founder of KORG Tsutomu Kato.
I feel weird making a "NEWS TO ME!!" post - like, let's say when you figure out that alternate Ed Case mix of Clint Eastwood that existed on his mixtape @40:28 but this was just mindblowingly random and I don't know if anyone posted about Doncamatic here before.
Well won, fantastic mix with a lot of variety. In a contest full of feelz, this one stood out incredibly.
Think we could get complete standings, or at least a few other positions? I'm curious to see how others did.
edit: for those wondering he is now /u/boodgurger
edit2: my mix was (as some people identified easily :P) e. Pretty happy with how it turned out minus the weird EQ shift. Some people said it dragged a bit though early on, so I guess I've got some stuff to work on! Always room for improvement, I'm not going to become kearney overnight hehehe. I put up the mix on mixcloud
edit: Tracklist
It's not a channel, but you can search for "Redbull ThreeStyle" on YouTube, it's an annual competition with lots of great DJs. The videos are on the individual DJs' pages, but there are playlists.
EDIT: Turns out they host the sets on MixCloud!
For those who are confused by the difference between a DJ set and his Adventure Live tour:
This is one of his DJ sets. This one is from EDCLV 2014 and (personally) my favorite. It consists of songs that he feels go well together and mixes off that. It's almost a different set of songs every time its played.
This is an Adventure Live set. It consists of only Madeon songs and remixes, in a predetermined order that includes him playing instruments live to accompany the music.
house and future bass mostly, with a couple other things mixed in in the spirit of the holiday. link is here if you wanna check it out!
If you want some Sean Price tracks to check out you might enjoy my 'Best Of' mix man. It's high up in the charts on Mixcloud thanks to people on here upvoting links when I post them. Good to see Sean Price getting so much support even after dying (the crowdrise is almost at 100k).
https://www.mixcloud.com/Draz-B/the-very-best-of-sean-price-part-1/
Kruder and Dorfmeister did a 'DJ Kicks' mix back in the day that is straight up amazing, with a bunch of downtempo/trip hop classics on it.
Nice, it's on Mixcloud!
https://www.mixcloud.com/IconicMixSeries/ims-1-kruder-dorfmeister-dj-kicks-1996/
I'll be djing on stage #2, It's mainly techno and house, should be fun, I'm hearing the pre-sales are all sold out. It won't be sketchy, its a professionally run rave. That said, it will be a younger crowd. Here is a link to the style(s) of music I'll be playing:
https://www.mixcloud.com/chrisjviets/
And here is a link to the FB event page:
Yeah, I told Noid before that it's a bit hard for me to be too verbose in analyzing anything. It's hard yo! Getting better however.
I love any techno/microhouse cover too, they know heir minimalism. Stuff like EDM does tend to have some garish covers, full of useless content. And if you like Microhouse this is a good mix to start with: https://www.mixcloud.com/mediabeeswax/micro-house-masters/
I started working out again! It's just some basic exercises that I do 3-4 times a week but it sure is something. I'd love to go to gym but I can't because I grew too fast and need to do basic exercises for some time.
I've also been learning how to DJ/produce music. I believe it is an interesting hobby that I like so far. I even made a mashup - It's 2 Progressive house songs
And a small mix consisting some of my favorite songs
Feel free to check them out and give me some feedback. Also don't hesitate to contact me via PM if you want to talk about DJing or Electronic music!
It's my birthday in 2 days, and I start school in a week. I'm excited for the year!
Also threw down a quick mix a few days ago, give it a listen if you guys are in to House music: Here
If you have any critiques let me know. I know the third transition is a bit rough, that's on me for fucking around with the gain too much. The rest of it is pretty smooth I feel.
Sleeper definitely has that dark, bassy sound. Love his mixes.
Ganja White Night has a unique and awesome sound. It's not always dark but they hit a real sweet spot. This is their newest track, yesterday. Actually got posted today in /r/dubstep which put a smile on my face.
I listen to a lot of Sub.fm which is streaming live dj sets of strictly bass music from around the world. It ranges all over from house/techno/dub/reggae/trap/etc but is usually good, sometimes bad and sometimes will blow you away.
I pretty much stick to mixcloud and sub.fm these days. Find a few DJs you like and it's a lot easier to find music through their setlists.
Podcast is up. Looks like it actually went up last night.
Edit: Snoo Zealand. You guys are mad. And no need to get salty about miso soup.
This isn't for the contest, but I just wanted to share a dope mix that I had come back across last week after not hearing it for awhile. It's called 'THE MUSIC MACHINE MIX' by Ruckus Roboticus and it has the power to instantly transport people back to their childhoods and young adult years, in a fun way. It also might help get those mixtape juices flowin' and spark an idea for your own mix.
Don't forget to check the mix Here (thread) or here if you are lazy
Much love to you all!
What does the controller has to do with 'extensive track selection'?
Have you heard anything from Ritchie Hawtin? He plays 4 decks with controllers and I think I can say he is fucking good.
A controller just makes it easier to use loops and be creative with someone else's tracks by playing multiple songs together and not just transition them.
Also at end of the day the most important thing is whether the crowd like you or not. They don't care about what tools you use to play, they just want to dance.
By the way I only DJ for about 6 months, I use controllers and I welcome your honest opinion on my track selection: https://www.mixcloud.com/gregmolnar/bash-vol-6/
I made a little promo mix last night for a submission to a local festival.

Remember my Melee talk show on the radio I mentioned last week? I just uploaded episode 2.
https://www.mixcloud.com/laren-spear/tech-skill-tonight-episode-2/
This week we had one of Austin's tournament organizers on to talk about what it's like being a TO as well as the history of Austin Melee and Melee in general post-Brawl and pre-2013. Also our thoughts on Genesis 4.
The new time is Fridays from 4 to 4:30 PM on www.kvrx.org/livestream due to some scheduling conflicts.
Technically trap is a rap subgenre from the southern US. Electronic producers took the beat style and applied it to edm, adding synths, basses, vocal chops, etc.
As ghostCatalyst eloquently described, its drum based, but nowadays trap is fused with just about every other genre's characteristics and it has become harder to define. Future bass is a subset of trap, Hybrid trap is trap beats with dubstep bass, and dub/drumstep producers often throw in small trappy sections in to their otherwise standard dub/drumstep.
There's a whole slew of others, but the bottom line is fuck genres, their days are numbered as everything is becoming more blurred.
Thanks for those interviews, there's also this audio interview in english.
She said on twitter that itunes and physical "soon".
I dig bandcamp, hifi plus it's more money for the bunny.
Listen back here: https://www.mixcloud.com/Radiomade/obviously-fight-talk-with-special-guests-neil-seery-josh-herdman-from-harry-potter-010516/
Mixcloud is not a great platform, unfortunately, but that's where it goes first. Will appear on Stitcher, iTunes, the lot, very soon. Will post links here ASAP.
I made a little mix I think u guys might like. https://www.mixcloud.com/jonathan-cosmikx-rosa/xcosmikx-undone/ If u guys like it let me know! Or any tips to make them better would be appropriated. I'm planning to make this a regular thing cuz all I do when I get home from work is get on my mixer and try to come up with awesome sets. I appreciate that u guys made a thread for this kind of content
They should be back soon, there was some sort of copyright issue that got their account frozen and then taken down for. Last time I talked to them they said it'd be back online eventually but they don't know when.
As a temporary fix they've been uploading on mixcloud. https://www.mixcloud.com/q_dance/
/u/robotlou posted some hip-hop radio mixes from the 80's that you should all check out because they're amazing.
>I recently unearthed a bunch of old cassettes from when I was in high school and decided to digitize them and share them. There are some good old school songs on these tapes. Even some good old commercials (including Geto Boys St. Ides commercial). Anyway, I hope you enjoy them. Most of it is from 98.7 KISS FM featuring DJ Red Alert. There is some WBLS mixed in from time to time, as well.
Who else is listening to these? I'm loving it. The late 80's is probably my favorite era of hip hop.
Edit: My absolute favorite is Armin's 6-hour set @ Amnesia 2008. Has just about everything one could want in an oldschool set.
Edit2: Here's a link to download the set. My personal upload and it's a 192kbps MP3.
Alright let's go! I generally listen to long mixes on my commutes usually over a few days. Those are the interesting ones so I'll just list those as opposed to when I just fire up a radio station/playlist on Google Music.
I just finished listening all the way through <strong>Sasha & John Digweed's Renaissance: The Mix Collection</strong>. It's an amazing mix of many different styles and it's quite the journey. I think I prefer Sasha & Digweed's Northern Exposure albums a bit more as they adhere to more of a single style for each 1 hour mix on the albums. The Renaissance Mix Collection definitely highlights the two artists' track selection and mixing talents for sure though!
Now I'm on to <strong>Ben Klock's BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix</strong> from last week and ooooh boy only 20min in, but man it's scratching my techno itch. It's actually a live club mix too which he mentions in the intro which is a departure from the usual essential mix - should be interesting!
Next up in my queue is <strong>Eric Prydz's first Beats 1 Radio Mix</strong> which I should get to next week :). Really excited for this one as I'm seeing him on Oct. 30th!!
My thoughts exactly. Was actually listening to a podcast recently as I thought it said it was with Aziz. I did think he sounded different but there was a hint of him there. Turns out it was his brother Aniz. https://www.mixcloud.com/THEMJEANS/aniz-ansari/
I'll start
Performance name: Chia

Whatever you think about Armin's music, you can't deny he's a good spokesperson for EDM. He's always very well spoken, knowledgeable about DJing/production/business and seems like a nice guy in general. I also like him in the first epsiode of DI.fm Journeys: https://www.mixcloud.com/trancefamilyglobal/armin-van-buuren-di-journeys-001-31-jan-2015/
Well, I actually just found an audio recording here. I'll try to make a setlist from it if anyone else is still interested.
Ahhh, Burnout 3: Takedown. ♥
Reminds when I did a full 2-hour mix of its amazing soundtrack last year. It's here if anyone is interested: https://www.mixcloud.com/DJMedeiroz/burnout-3-takedown-full-2-hour-soundtrack-mix/
First robot post went off without a hitch!!!
I've been getting deep into Prince the last couple months. My boss sent around this old 100 minute long Prince "mixtape" that was kinda a radio show comprised of a lot greatest hits as well as demos and unreleased songs. It's so fucking dope you guys, I'm telling you, it's perfect for both Prince newbies and megafans alike. If you want it, here's where you can stream it! https://www.mixcloud.com/pablodiscobar/dj-u-tern-the-purple-mix-prince-favorites/
That was an awesome story, it was so well written that I felt the need to voice it, here (mixcloud) or here (zippyshare) you can find the product.
If you have praise or critic for me, please let me hear it!
if anyone is interested, here a 2hs long mix i did in FEB for the RedBullMusicAcademy, it has a lot of tropical stuff (from new cumbia to tropical house / 90 -> 130bpm) https://www.mixcloud.com/Jupa/megamixtape-2o15-118min/ (i didn't get to send the submission tho)
Hallo!
Baauer live at Hard day of the dead is one of the best i've of heard
Ok, ich komm! :D
Spotify playlists will be good for the classics.
I use Mixcloud often for discovering new stuff, so I'd recommend checking it out too. On there, as far as profiles go --- Out ov the Coffin for a 2hr, nicely curated monthly collection of new and old: https://www.mixcloud.com/OutovtheCoffin/ Sound in the Attic for an excellent weekly upload of predominantly newer stuff in Goth Rock / Post Punk: https://www.mixcloud.com/SoundintheAttic/ Communion After Dark for electronic stuff: https://www.mixcloud.com/CommunionAfterDark/
Hope you find what you're looking for.
As someone mentioned below, Birdhouse isn't exclusively dirtybird artists, and Claude has been running a podcast of the same name for over a year now. Definitely check them out here.
(Notable episodes, at least in regards to my favorites are: Mark Starr, Dateless, Matthew Anthony, and Marshall Applewhite, although they're all good and obviously each artist has their own style for their mix.)
Enjoy your stay!
We have a community run podcast every month with a live broadcast. The podcast is put together by one different member of this subreddit each month, and is a taste of what the people like to listen to besides Prydz.
https://www.mixcloud.com/porksandwich/ You can find the current three there, and the next episode is mid December.
I also recommend Eric's Beats one mixes found here as well as Epic Radio found here.
There's also countless livesets, essential mixes to get caught up on if you like what you hear.
I've been buying trucker records for years so I decided to compile my favourite jams from them into a Mixcloud. There is quite a bit of repetition on these compilations so this a distillation, pure goodness :)
I even made a fake cover for it, I couldn't help myself.
The Bramble track is from a private press LP but fits perfectly into the theme.
https://www.mixcloud.com/DeuceSK/13-truck-drivin-hits/
1.Charlie Moore- Tombstone Every Mile
2.The Willis Brothers- Truck Driver's Queen
3.Bramble- Transtar Rollin'
4.Stompin' Tom Connors- Bud The Spud
5.Stanley Brothers- Rollin' On Rubber Wheels
6.Red Simpson- Nitro Express
7.Jim Nesbitt- I Ain't Never Been Passed
8.Johnny Dollar- No More Truck Stops
9.Claude Gray- How Fast Them Trucks Can Go
10.Frankie Miller- Truck Drivin' Buddy
11.Red Sovine- Woman Behind The Man Behind The Wheel
12.Coleman Wilson- Radar Blues
13.Showdown- Rodeo Song
I hope you all dig it as much as I do. Thanks for listening!
I made an ambient mix a little while back: https://www.mixcloud.com/alex-van-den-berg2/2-hour-ambient-psychedelic-chillout-shpongle-xxyyxx-aphex-twin-bonobo-more/ theres a tracklist with some more artists but it's not quite this.
This is more dub-like so I recommend looking into Androcell, Bluetech, Vibrasphere, Globular, Ott, Slackbaba maybe, Radioactive sandwich, Tripswitch... That should keep you buisy for a while :P enjoy!
Also DJ Vulpus' Ska Geek Podcast and DJ Grand Yoni's IMPACT! Sound System radio show (Mixcloud and you can listen live on KXRY on Sundays from 11:00 AM -12:00 PM CST)
Basement Hoser- Episode 4
Here is the June edition of my "fake radio show" put together from songs taken from my record collection. Once again it runs about an hour. https://www.mixcloud.com/DeuceSK/basement-hoser-episode-4/
For those listeners not that into the punk stuff, check out the first set. It consists of four female fronted bands in the psych/hard rock vein, from the late 60s/early 70s. Featuring my favourite Poppy Family song, a great folky psych thing by Silver Jade and more.
For this episode there are photos of all 22 records used. Mixcloud link has full track list.
The Paupers track is pretty crunchy, the record is pretty hammered but it still sounds better "raw" rather than the flat sound after trying to "clean it up" on Audacity. My apologies if it sounds rough but the song rips and I had to include it as is. All other songs here are unprocessed straight to WAV as well, I think it sounds best this way. Looking for a cleaner copy of Magic People for sure :)
The rest of the hour is just me compiling some tracks I love and enjoy hearing from new-ish material to old stuff; records I've had for years and recent finds. It kind of comes together much like a listening session, one track brings to mind another and so on. And so it goes :)
As always, these are a joy to put together. It's a fun thing to do after work (over a cold beer or two) and then share with you fine folks. Thanks for listening.
The Yearmix for 2008 was pretty good as well.
Basement Hoser Episode 2
An all vinyl Mixcloud compilation done in a "fake radio" format.
Episode 2 here: https://www.mixcloud.com/DeuceSK/basement-hoser-episode-2/
Even if you are not a fan of punk rock scuzz and new wave scum, check out the version of Down By The River by Joey Gregorash and a great cut by The Guess Who, Species Hawk. Like the first episode, it's all been ripped from records in my collection. I said previously that if there were some listeners I'd do another. Tons of fun to make and listen to (I put my own in with the other podcasts I listen to daily), I love to pick out and mix these songs, I hope you enjoy it too.
Sittin' in the basement listening to records...
And sharing them on the web via Mixcloud.
Pics of records used are in the imgur link, if anything looks interesting to you, please check out the show.
First episode here: https://www.mixcloud.com/DeuceSK/basement-hoser-episode-1/
I've been listening heavily to podcast-style radio shows and have been inspired to make my own. The first half dozen were just compilations but I decided to throw in an intro and spoken track info. I quit amateur broadcasting a few years ago due to work constraints so it's been a while and I don't exactly possess a "radio guy voice" but here it is anyway. It was fun. This episode is mostly punk rock songs with a touch of 60s garage and Krautrock.
Figured if there were at least a dozen listens I'd plan another; posted it on Friday and there's been 20 or so listens since. Maybe once a month would be cool, it's enjoyable to put these tunes together.
Thanks for listening and I hope you dig it as much as I do.
Here is a trance guide mix made over at /r/trance by /u/GouryellaIV. Progressive House? Over here, the warmy-beach plucky style is posted here alot, the older, darker sounding side reigns over at /r/realproghouse.
Hey, Simon has become quite experimental interms of productions and especially DJing in the last 3 years. If you have the time today, listen to this set It's a 3 hour set from mid December where he plays a bit of techno, some tech-trance, quite a lot of psy and he ends with his classics tracks like Us, Thump, F16 etc. This is the best Simon set I've heard in a long time, if you get something close to that tonight you should be happy :)
For an OTC you'll get a very similar progression, the only unknown factor is how much techno he'll play. I've seen him for 3 hour sets where he plays 15-20 minutes, but in others he plays 90 minutes so if you don't like that type of music you might be put off a bit.
This was such a fun idea. I got my mixtape this morning. The theme is disco, funk, soul, and experimental songs all kind of about the moon. I just started listening right now, but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna dig it.
Here's a stream link.
edit: forgot the credit. Shout-out to /u/lelebuonerba for the playlist.
edit 2: Just finished it. Dope playlist. Isaac Hayes, Talking Heads, Arthur Russell, etc. 10/10
Looks like it's from that 8-hour Rinse takeover FT did a few years ago. You can stream that here (it's amazing, particularly the first hour or so).
I prefer his Cafe Mambo sets, They are so dreamy.
Here is my personal fave. Short but so so sweet.
Hey guys. I got a progressive house/a little prog trance for y'all, so it starts at 128 for the first half and eventually gets up to 138. I performed the mix with a DDJ-SR and recorded the mix in Serato. I am looking for input on track selection and transitions. I know I messed up at least two transitions (right before "Rocky" and before "Sun is Shining"). It was one of my first times not looking at the waveforms while mixing, so some of my transitions very muddy, but I think I fixed those on the fly to make them sound semi-decent...any ways here is the link and tracklist so y'all can see if it is something you're interested in listening to! Thanks!

(I know, lots of mainstream stuff)
You should check out /r/mixes and the weekly mix feedback thread posted in this sub.
Here is one I did this month on my newly acquired DDJ-SX2 and Technics 1210's (open format)
I made these two ages ago. I should do more.
60s/70s/80s Jazz/Fusion from the former communist eastern european countries.
https://www.mixcloud.com/litm/eastern-jazz-vol1/
https://www.mixcloud.com/litm/eastern-jazz-vol2/
Also, "former communist eastern european countries" is a horrible term, what is a better one? Eastern Bloc? Does this describe these countries and period of time well enough?
That would be brigading. Let whoever it is posting this crap destroy her for us. We really need to do nothing. There is already a strong history of women dj's in this city that have talent to spin circles around her.
1) Dj Terra (dnb dj, moved to toronto sadly :( ) http://winnipegmixtapearchive.ca/dj-terra-roll-call/
2) DJ Mary (trance) http://winnipegmixtapearchive.ca/dj-mary/
3) Shael/Discokitty https://www.mixcloud.com/shael/disco-kitty-work-it-out-2005/
4) Suz Angel K / Audioangel (no mix links but i did a tag set with her, she can lay it down like you wouldn't believe)
5) DJ Dawl sadly moved to Alberta, but one hell of a little bundle of kick ass, SteinbachStan and Pope can confirm
6) DJ Poll-E played breaks and was a rwb dancer and instructor. Moved to Ottawa
I feel I am missing a pile as well.
There's a much cleaner version of the VIP at the very end of this set (1:12:05 onwards) from El Hornet's mixcloud. The end is mixed into Vault but the intro and 'drop' are in great quality compared to the other rips.

55 minute running time. Full track listing:
And hey, don't forget to check out /r/vintageobscura's 2015 set too!
