Oh my friend do I have the shoe for you. I just discovered it on amazon a week ago and they are the most comfortable kitten heel ever.
They are for someone with really particular taste, it’s a pointed slightly upturned toe, and a wavy heel with a sexy little slit in top that mimics a dress slit. I think they are the perfect mix of quirky and sexy. But it’s either your style or it isn’t.

Also if you have a wider foot this is shoe is a gift.
I hope this works congrats on the upcoming nuptials!
Thanks!
Surprisingly, the jacket is from Amazon! Dark Chic sells a lot of their stuff on there :)
As for the vest, I borrowed if from my partner, and the button down shirt is just from H&M (their button downs are surprisingly cheap).
And the ascot and skull bat thing are of my own creation. I sewed the ascot and made the pendant I bought from Michaels into an ascot broach :)
If you have a Roku or are willing to stream, Shout TV has full episodes up:

> Cybergoth =/= cyber hippy
Yeah, cybergoth is not cyber. Just like how Cybergoth is not goth.
Cyber is cyber (and the cyber music genre is psychedelic techno).
Cyber-goth is actually a mix of Cyber and Rivethead, and has nothing to do with goth.
...
The record label "cyber music" is basically all Goa & Psychedelic Trance.
How is Joy Division not goth?
> In 1979 Joy Division was referred to by an interviewer as "gothic in comparison to the pop mainstream". Their manager Martin Hannett later used "dancing music with gothic overtones" to market their postmortem album, Closer.

If you like that, I think you'd like this. There's also a three-volume version (which I have, 2 CDs per volume). Best goth compilation I've encountered.
Books! It's my time to shine guys! Few things, pretty much anything by Ann Rice or Edgar Allen Poe (I highly recommend buying his complete works, Barnes and Nobles sells a really neat leather bound copy). The Mysteries of Udolpho is a good basic gothic romance, this may be too classic for you, it's pretty old, as in this is what inspired Edgar Allen Poe old.
Cuthulu is pretty goth, he's in a short story by H. P. Lovecraft and it wouldn't hurt to check out some more of his goth/sci-fi stories. I don't know if you have read any classic horror, but Frankenstein, Dracula, and the Vampyre are the origin of virtually every horror story ever, they are amazing reads. The Preist by Steven King is another good gothic horror if you like his writing style.
I think that gives just about anyone a good place to start, I have more titles for you if you happen to have read all those already
> This is a good point but if you play nothing but new stuff no one dances. Then they complain.
Hope you didn't take me 100% seriously - I of course know that. Your original comment was in jest and my reply was in jest too.
I have guest DJ'd several times for Club Ascension in San Diego and am a hobbiest electro-industrial DJ. The club is billed as a Goth/Ethereal club but the thing is that stuff is dying out and only a handful dance now to the Goth/Ethereal stuff. EBM and Electro Industrial genres are still > 50% even at a Goth/Ethereal club. This is pretty typical of a set I'd play out there:
I myself am trying to produce a more dancey version of Ethereal music. Our influences range from dark trance to shoegaze and trip hop. This track is my take on what I see as "Future Goth" music.
A few thoughts:
1) With a user name like that, that taste in clotting / look, that taste in music, Etc, you're certainly sounding Goth if you feel like having that label.
2) try to understand your mother's motivation. There are some fairly standard ones that come with having a teenager:
(Notice the perspective here: my kids aren't teenagers yet but I can feel these things already. I also used to work with youth groups and it's easy to feel like The kids are my own)
Some of what you want comes naturally with time. Your parents have a steadily decreasing amount of control over you. Some of what you want you can improvise. Some of what you want can be negotiated. Some of what you want probably shouldn't happen (because some parts of fantasy are best left as fantasy).
For the things that are worth negotiating, consider reading books like "Getting More" by Stewart Diamond, "Seven Habits of Highly Effective People" by Steven Levy, and "Getting to Yes". Particularly, I'd also recommend "Women don't ask". (Last two I don't know the authors names off hand). Negotiation is a great skill to learn, and you get good with practice.
3) Consider also reading "Gothic Charm School" by Jillian Venters. She talks a bit about dealing with parents.
Good luck!
She Wants Revenge, The Mission, Bauhaus probably...
If you’re new into goth I’d check this list.
There sure are! You can check out the rest of his youtube channel, as well as his reverbnation page.
Look no further than the classic horror movie Goth.
Just kidding, it's really a terrible movie. If you like terrible movies though, give it a spin.
Ah ok, well I believe there's quite a bit of Cleopatra disc sets still available on ebay/amazon/discogs.
Usually called something like: Goth Box
Yeah, just found one: https://www.discogs.com/Various-Goth-Box/release/427454
https://www.amazon.com/Goth-Box-Various-Artists/dp/B000007OEP
I got it from a vendor on Amazon.
It looks like it's a Korean clothing brand and I know a lot of those brands can run pretty small. I bought an 8 and it worked out pretty well for me. I'm 5'7" and have some curves so it's not very tight or awkward fitting. The only downside is that I have to pull it over my head to put it on. So if you do a lot with your hair it's going to get messy.
Found these and others on amazon. Freaking cowboy boots of all things. I sadly have the last pair but I love them so much.
Pet store collar and spikes off amazon works well. My friends made me one for my birthday years ago and it is still going strong. https://www.amazon.com/Spikes-Metal-Screwback-Long-Pieces/dp/B003WZ1WA2/ref=sr_1_28/142-7622582-5485702?ie=UTF8&qid=1519426987&sr=8-28&keywords=goth+spikes
I see you beat me to the toilet paper... well done. But don't forget to floss.
hey THIS I can do!
If I find good boots at Goodwill, I'm just going to wear them!
I like the kind that comes in a large, economy-priced package—as dark a roast as is available. I use a french press and it makes even cheap coffee immensely better. Unfortunately, the coffee usually gets cold pretty quick, unless you have one of these bad boys. I will recommend that thing to anyone who will listen.
When I want to create but I've got that sort of mental block, I pull out my coloured pencils and a colouring book. (I've got two on the go now- one of Victorian fashions, and one of medieval tapestry.) This is like 100% subjective, but when I don't want to work on a project, it's normally because I'm terrified I'll ruin it. Colouring gets me in that visual design mindspace without that anxiety that I'll fuck everything up because even if I do, hey, it's a colouring book, who gives a fuck?
I've been addicted to Fire Emblem Heroes lately. It is a fantasy tactical rpg and has a lot of over-the-top cutesy and colorful characters, but also a lot of victorian and j-goth ones too. It is pretty casual, the thing that sets it apart IMO is the combat is entirely deterministic (no randomness!) and based on a hard rock/paper/scissors style design, so it plays more like a puzzle game a normal tactical rpg.
Oh no and it has hit you so young too. I have a growing bald spot on the back and receding hairline at the front. I find dying dark colours highlights the lack of hair but lighter colours (like blonde) helps to mask it.
One trick a friend does is he got a sports team afro/tall wig and cut the sides it so it looks like a deathhawk. He doesn't wear it all the time but it works well enough. Here is the sort of costume wig style he started with - https://www.amazon.com/Sporty-Sports-Costume-Enigma-Orange/dp/B072KX3NVJ?th=1
Sacred heart, religious imagery. I think this might be the t shirt https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sacred-Heart-Catholic-Devotion-T-Shirt/dp/B08GMFR25Y/ref=asc_df_B08GMFR25Y/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=586379118866&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=10072495345364447424&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvq...
Yep, different book. This one came out a bunch of years before, and is British (Yours may be, too, but I didn’t check).
No, it’s probably the worst “source” you could come across on goth online. We have tons of resources on our Wiki under History & Background, we recommend those. If you want a place to start ordering Some Wear Leather, Some Wear Lace is a really good one.
There's many options to buy as well, on Amazon you can get the MP3 for £7.99. Worth it if you don't understand VPN that much. Also has some bonus tracks.
Have you considered something like this?
You could always buy used vinyls right? That would have essentially zero environmental impact.
Sexbeat is a song by the band of the same name. The first lyrics are also the name of a book based on the 80s goth scene called [Some Wear Leather, Some Wear Lace](www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1783203528/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_0W621H6234GHRFCPY2XB).
Hey, my name is Damien Rave and i have some tips for you to get more listeners for your mixtapes:
use tags that have charts like industrial, alternative, dark synthpop etc. They will perform massively better than something that is not commonly used like "nu-goth"
I think that titles which include a genre gain more listeners.
Don't release everything at once, I know it is too late now but this may help you in the future. Mixcloud has "charts" which somtimes work quiet well and each upload can stay for 14 days in those charts if they get enough listeners. So best practice would be to release a new mixtape every 14 days. In the time between try to build an audience.
Acquire new Listeners. I know it seems dirty but the best way to get more people to follow you is by following them. Follow People that like the music that you upload and most of the time they will follow you back.
Ive made a few playlists
That go from various genres like metal, trad, industrial/ ebm and folk, viking, Celtic etc.
If you wanna check them out I would be very happy.
If you want to know a song please message me or reply on here and I will be happy to let you know.

(I did ask the mods if this was ok to post)
Here is the best list of goth's most influential musicians. It focuses mainly on gothic rock, but many early goth bands created music in a wide variety of different genres.
Oh no, no, I didn't think you were, I was just telling you why I've learnt the basic history of industrial. But then again, it can't hold inspiration from goth if it didn't exist yet, though in this specific context I think you mean the dark attire of the industrial metal artists taking inspiration from darker fashion.
I don't like it that much, but there's sources online like Industrial Music Guide: A Brief History of Industrial Music that you can read. You might also like r/industrialmusic.
Don't kids have fake IDs anymore? None of the goth clubs - with the exception of the 9:30 club, which was concerts - were all ages.
Also, meetup.com. Its takes some leg-work and muscle to get things going, but its a great avenue to meet others.
This is a great compilation, I've yet to obtain the physical copy (for shame) but I'll be sure to redouble my efforts.
This was an album a dear friend of mine found one day at our local independent cd shop, station 2 station. They loved it immensely and this was really my first dive into the gothic subculture. http://www.allmusic.com/album/goth-music-of-the-shadows-vol-1-mw0000252210 (this took forever to find a link for due to the nature of the name, the query that got me there ended up being "goth volume 1 cd tales of innocence thoushaltnot peter murphy")
I got this for Christmas: In His Own Words - Christian Death & Beyond Clear https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09HKYFD3K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_4N74Y8ZMRJC25XMJ2JD9
Haven't fully read the book yet, but it could be helpful to you
I don't know if anyone would be interested but I put out a small game today called Dread The Dead. It has a lot of gothic monsters/themes. Here is a link for anyone interested. :)
My go-to is this foundation mix-in by Manic Panic:
Manic Panic Virgin Dreamtone Gothic Foundation Vampire White (1 fl oz) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004SUGXWC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_VEWGDbBFC8388
Unfortunately it doesn't work all on its own and has to be mixed with ordinary foundation, but if used this way, it works wonders. If you can find a good mousse foundation in your skintone (or lighter if preferred), mix an equal amount of the white with that on a beauty blender and then apply to your skin.
Of course, if you want more white, you can use more of the white stuff than normal foundation in your mixture.
Looks divine if topped with a white powder. :)
You can ask the cake decorator to use black cocoa in their buttercream or frosting like I did!
It will appear a deep grey at first but then darken to black over a couple hours. This is the brand I use:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00K89SKKK?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
There are rubber peices that they sell in drugstores in the sole insert section that are specifically for heals falling off. They show it with a picture of high heals but they stick to the back/heal of the shoe to stop your heal from slipping out the shoe.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MQ6D5TC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_JqrXCbHGM9R8K That is probably what you need
speaking of which. Has anyone read this? The queen of Goth. A brilliantly fascinating read.

Nico: The Life and Lies of an Icon. I strongly recommend it
put some of these bad boys on your shirts https://www.amazon.com/Brooches-Accessories-Golden-Pattern-Triangle/dp/B01N2J13MX/ref=pd_rhf_gw_s_cp_0_12?_encoding=UTF8&ie=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B01N2J13MX&pd_rd_r=G24ANQPST9E8V9N6Z2Q3&pd_rd_w=d6jwh&pd_rd_wg=Qge8H&pf_rd_r=G24ANQPST... https://www.amazon.com/Silver-Dragon-Brooches-Collar-Ginkgo/dp/B01N96TBU4/ref=pd_bxgy_236_img_3?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B01N96TBU4&pd_rd_r=e81e0f47-8ebc-11e8-aded-f58ee0318b53&pd_rd_w=FPLaz&pd_rd_wg=VEHHs&pf_rd_i=desktop-dp-sims...
-- Wear Dr. Marten Ally pointed toe creepers. I wore these for years in the 80's and 90's in a corporate setting.
https://www.amazon.com/Dr-Martens-Mens-Ally-Oxford/dp/B01M0VM8X5
-- Martel - Monk Straps with Western Buckle (mine had the older regular buckle style)
Asics GT-1000 is a pretty comfy pair of running shoes that comes entirely in black.
edit: I myself have a more "minimalist" goth style & the pullover looks very grey but it is extremely black in person
Simon Reynolds has done extensive research into the subject.
I would suggest reading "Rip It Up and Start Again: Postpunk 1978–1984", but make sure you get the UK version. The US version is missing most of the chapter on goth.
If you're just wanting something somewhat cheap for the interim that come up high and are stylish I suggest these. They are not "combat boots" but they are black and usually free shipping/returns on Amazon if they don't fit Breckelles Women's Alabama-12 Knee High Riding Boots,9 B(M) US,Premium Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00O7MOR06/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_maxXwbX867G1D
Thank you!! They were only about $20 on Amazon...unfortunately it looks like most sizes are sold out now...hopefully you wear a size 8 or 12...
a few things, reach out to people you know. its a really big time for you and a lot of people wont mind helping, but even so for the people you do reach out to make sure you offer to compensate them, especially if they would have needed to spend money on their own. Personally i like the barn idea, and something like having 100 candles burning behind the "alter" (its a barn so pretty much behind you and your SO), burn the candles a bit beforehad though so the wax starts to get the nice melted look, and make sure it is out of harms way. As for the party, if your wedding falls on a full moon have a moon viewing party under it. If not nighttime is great and outdoors with a bonfire sets the mood better than any ballroom I've ever been to. sorry i like fire a lot. everyone loves party favors and i cant think of anything better than ~~lighters~~ chocolates, made by you with molds and melt-able chocolate.
They're a bit more on the deathrock side of things, but Burning Image are pretty great. A song you may dig is Time Is Running Out. They put out a discography on Alternative Tentacles awhile back called 1983-1987, then put out a new album later, but I haven't heard that.
Talk about sugar on the six-fingered beast! I love this song.
If you're a fan, you'd be remiss not to pick up Rozz Williams' art book.
Every now and then, Amazon offers THIS for free or at a discounted price, but it's an excellent collection of dark classical songs for next to nothing.
I thrift a lot. Many "scroll" looking candle holders and racks can be found there. Also, anything you find thrifting can be finished with black paint. But, not everything black is goth and not everything goth is black. =) Also some places have a fabric section. Try to find as much black fabric as you can and throw it over tables, turn it into drapes, a canopy for your bed or leave it lying around on a couch.
One of my favorite accidental goth things is my jewelry tree. I mean, look at it!!
I also collect a lot of Halloween decor during the season, so my apartment is littered with skulls and "Death". Sometimes it's hard to find something that isn't flat out Halloween cheesy.
I've got some artwork I did myself. I'm by no means an artist, but the water color bats do add some ambiance.
