Can't tell if trolling or serious
Well there's this or a simple Google search
Here you go, folks. Most mp3's downloaded from ZippyShare & HulkShare, and a few ripped from YouTube (HQ). You might have to signup with 4shared, as the file is 1.2GB: http://www.4shared.com/zip/6-mjFGxX/The_Best_Dubstep_Remixes_of_No.html
That website is absolutely horrible compared to an actual DAW. If you have a Mac you can do a lot better just with what's included in Garageband (and actually learn about what you're doing, too), and there are a few free DAWs available for Windows here if you scroll down near the bottom.
This is the first song I made once I sort of had an idea what I was doing. I'm fully aware that it's not good, but in making that I learned a TON about production. I'm still not very good, but I'm okay with what I can do :)
edit If anyone's actually interested in starting to make electronic music I highly recommend you head over to /r/edmproduction and read the FAQ and other links in the sidebar.
>Well that dude is fucking Beyonce (not boning beyonce, but he is beyonce, needed the emphasis).
I.. I was still confused even with the clarification. Then I found this.
jaw hit the floor.
I used the Chrome extension to download each audio file and uploaded it here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/g45ppw
They are only 128kbps rips, but better than nothing, right? I also wrote ID3 tags for the artist.
Enjoy!
I don't know wtf these other people are talking about. This absolutely sounds like it could be Excision.
Also, here's a direct link to the clip. You linked to the other thread that links to the clip, for some reason.
*And for everyone talking about his mastering and mixing skills..... Yeah, he's great. But songs aren't perfectly mastered right out of the gate. This is clearly a WIP.
It is but unfortunately is from LCD Soundsystems "Home"
EDIT: They site that at the end of the video. I must say I love how the music went with it also. Cut out the prologue though with the inventor
I've been thinking about learning at Dubspot, but obviously it's very expensive, and I already have a good amount of experience with producing and DJing, do you think I would still get much out of the program? Here's some of my work for example, https://soundcloud.com/chromixe/mree-lift-me-up-chromixe-remix https://soundcloud.com/chromixe/the-gila-monsta-original-mix
Whenever people ask me what I mean when I say I love dubstep but dont really care for Skrillex etc. I always link them the Breakage Essential Mix
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=brostep&defid=4297993
Brostep is a relatively new sub-genre of music (born out of Dubstep micro-genre) which has no emphasis on soul.
The goal appears to be to produce music as fast as you possibly can, without placing any emphasis on quality.
Unlike Dubstep where sub bass is key, Brostep places more emphasis on ratty high frequency samples and oscillators that arent even low frequency. Toss in a few hip hop vocal samples and you are well on your way to being the worlds next big Brostep producer.
I know this may seem wacky, but Skrillex being well-known by the masses doesn't have to be a bad thing, and those of us that appreciate (at least some of) his stuff aren't like fucking children for it.
He's a damned millionaire, you think that can happen with no talent? Of course it can. This page gets a lot of money, and if you've been to any shows where he played lately you know that the floor EXPLODES when he starts "playing" (no hands most of the time). His sets are typically soon followed by the emptying of the area and mumbles and grumbles of the elitists who disparage him.
tl:dr; You're a little boy!
Nah, you are correct it isn't dubstep. Just cringing over the term EDM and Skream used together.
This song is taken from this album which is loaded with dubstep https://www.discogs.com/Skream-Skream/release/811808
I met him a week ago when he was in Toulouse.
Not only is his sound pleasant, but he is a great chap' too!
Never heard of him before meeting him at one of his gigs.
I had gone to see SilentFrequencies https://soundcloud.com/silentfrequencies/silent-frequencies-habstrakt-god-of-death-preview-home-master
It's here -> https://www.mediafire.com/?6g6gh7zcksnc8mo
Well those comments are really cool guys ;) I sincerely appreciate. I'll probably upload another dubstep mix on tomorrow, but for tonight I decided to switch to future house. And, if you like those style of sounds, you should go and check TheDubRebellion and DubstepGutter channels on YouTube, I found some tunes there (and rorschach btw).
Webster is 19+, but they're dubstep monthly is always a good time. This weekend: http://dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=177131

I'd suggest everyone checks out filth cabin records https://www.facebook.com/Filth.Cabin.Records
They have 3 free releases and a new release soon. I love all of their stuff that is coming out. the facebook page has a player on it with a lot of tracks they signed on it. Like the page to follow their releases.
He seems more full of himself than he used to be, but compared to Deadmau5 he still looks like the coolest guy in the world. He certainly treats his fans better anyway.
If you look up some interviews by datsik, he talks a lot about how he came from making hip-hop beats to dubstep, I think he called it "a natural progression". Ill try to look one up for you but yeah just do a quick google search for it. He also did a whole album with wu-tang, not the greatest but there's a whole album oh hip-hop/rap and dubstep together.
Edit: Datsik interview
Wu-tang dubstep album (not just datsik)
I'm on the Bukez train as well, so good. Did you hear the 5 hour b2b2b he did with Hatcha and Lost last week on mixlr? It was great.
You can buy this track to help it chart Here: http://www.beatport.com/release/discordia-ep/401573
Thanks :D I'm probably going to post up the GQ podcast later today. GoingQuantum is also a redditor!
Uh, what?
What you said explains something like KOAN Sound's Mr. Brown, which I guess could be considered 'experimental dubstep'. I have no issue with that.
But absolutely none of that applies to this Feed Me track, which is 110bpm, not 100, and is very much Electro House, which isn't anything new or a 'progressive' side of dubstep.
It's just not dubstep at all, not in the least fucking bit. And you can just check out the <strong>beatport listing</strong> yourself if you don't want to take my word for it.
I guess the only newish trend here is clueless kids who don't know how to tell the difference between genres, which is a good skill to learn if you're going to be submitting to genre-specific subreddits.
In a word, no. If you want to mix music, you need the means to play two songs at the same time (the mixer) and you need the means to adjust the pitch of the songs so that you can mix them on beat (turntables/DJ cd players). I mean, I'm sure there are some simple programs that will let you adjust the pitch of songs, so you could probably use your PC, but a run of the mill MP3 player isn't going to let you adjust pitch.
The set up that you're thinking about is going to be really junky imo. If your immediate goal is just to see if you like DJing, I recommend you go the software route, and maybe get yourself a cheap MIDI controller. The big name programs all have free trials, and there's even the open-source solution Mixxx. Numark has just announced this DJ 2 Go controller, which looks like a great solution for someone who doesn't want to spend a lot of money starting out.
I recommend going as cheap as possible to start, and then if you decide that it's something you want to do, save up and get some really high quality equipment. I know a guy who uses all Numark gear, and one of his CD players doesn't really work anymore, and his mixers all start acting pretty wonky after maybe a year or so. I spent more money than him on my gear, but it's all still working perfectly 7 years later.
Here you go, buddy. Most mp3's downloaded from ZippyShare & HulkShare, and a few ripped from YouTube (HQ). You might have to signup with 4shared, as the file is 1.2GB: http://www.4shared.com/zip/6-mjFGxX/The_Best_Dubstep_Remixes_of_No.html For anyone not wanting to sign up, and 22062011
I was wrestling with the problem of a 3rd axis as well. I found motion charts which are a tool that Google developed that can be inserted in a Google Spreadsheet. However, these take a lot of data to work correctly and I think it may be asking too much of the user to have them enter the data.
"a lot of needed publicity in the states".
Um....where have you been? Dubstep doesn't need any publicity it's blowing the f up! LOL. If anything, this is bad publicity for dubstep! People may take it less seriously now that britney is doing it (if they even took it seriously in the first place)
You might enjoy what's called Deep Dark Dubstep. Usually heavy on beats, wobble and atmosphere. Check this mix for more examples. Track list is included. First two minutes are the intro.
> The First Generation >> Bassnecter and Excision
lmfao
> The Second Generation >> This was when dubstep was at its best and had a significant amount of emotion in it. >>> Lists artists such as Skrillex, Excision, Skism, Knife Party ... Hell, everyone on that list as being Dubsteps best
lmfao
> The Third Generation
Actually I agree with everything you've said here.
> The Fourth Generation >> List is mainly made up of artists that are from other "Generations"
lmfao
E-. Go listen to Dubstep Warz or Dubstep All Starts Vol. 1 then see me after class.
You can if you want, otherwise I hate to break it to you but there is this
Which allows anyone to get it anyway, I still think it's only right to ask first though :) Do you have a facebook/youtube anything other than soundcloud you want linked just let me know.
I think it would be worth mentioning Ubuntu Studio alongside Openstudiopro. It also comes with a ton of programs pre-packaged in the distro. Here's an article about audio production in Linux.
One of my more recent mixes, and my favorite as of right now.
https://www.mixcloud.com/_Aphotik_/aphotik-delusions-of-grandeur/
Plenty more on the mixcloud page. 320 mp3 and Flac is available to download if anybody wants them, just send a pm here.
Hell ya it is! If you have Google Chrome you can get the soundcloud extension which lets you download any song from the site. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ndmjkapccdjaajegggkopajaabdkjmag
Flashvideodownloader will fix that. It downloads as if it's a stream request to the server. One of my favourite FF addons. See a video on youtube, grab it, strip the audio from it to an mp3.
Just start playing the track right here on the comment page, and there's a little blue arrow in the bottom right of firefox(where your other addons show) you click on, then pick which thing to download (youtube links have separate DLs for each quality level for example).
EDIT: Sorry guys, apparently this is kinda hit or miss with soundcloud. I couldn't get it to work with this track but I could on another one.
Thanks for all the support as always guys! My last upload was not that high quality mix-wise, and this one is much better considering it was a practice sesh. Let me know what you think if you tuned in!

You should think about putting a demo reel together. Of course it would have to have some original video content, but I think a lot of underground artists wouldn't mind a video undercut with action movie sequences. You should talk to 23

Short urls http://techcrunch.com/2009/12/21/youtube-url-shortener/ Was news a couple of years ago. Loads of companies got them at the same time because a short url specialist registrar had just opened up or something.
19+ I'm sure, it depends on the venue but unless it's a festival or at the Phoenix I doubt it will be all ages.
Any link to where this tour date is? I looked here and couldn't find a listing for July 13, though he is in Montreal a few days later so it's probably just not on that site.
Ah nevermind, found it. No venue announced, but it looks like a festival...so I don't know, keep your fingers crossed and wait for May whatever for them to release the info.
Maybe PM me when the venue is released and I can let you know about the age limit and how to bypass it
I could help you if you live by NYC, always stuff going on there- as far as the rave scene, you might wanna try bassnectar concerts (Bass Island, etc.) and as far as dubstep concerts, search your favorite artists and see if they're touring.
Hope I could help!
Yes, 100% agree. For me it was Tectonic Plates that introduced me to dubstep. I remember a friend got this CD from his uncle (a 40 year old guy back then) i kid you not. I was into D&B back then, and he suggested it to me since it had similar bass sounds. Can still highly recommend this CD: http://www.beatport.com/release/tectonic-plates-cd1/47568
Not meant to offend, just pointing out that you would think that a Nero album would have more dubstep on it. Also, I know every single song on the album and I know there is mostly dubstep, just saying that the album contains more than just dubstep. I agree in that it would be a great transitional album, and I'm not saying listen to Skrillex. I would recommend Nero over Skrillex 100% of the time. I personally recommended Meta to him. Try not to get so easily offended mate, we all share a common love of music here. Cheers!
Go look at Fl Studio or Ableton Live, I personally pefer Ableton https://www.ableton.com/en/live/new-in-9/ http://www.image-line.com/flstudio/
If your looking for tutorials look for pointblank music school on YouTube they show you some good tips
get a pair of sennheiser 518's off Amazon. Quality from them is good. I have these. You can wear them for hours, I've worn them for 5+ hours straight without taking them off and you just forget they're on your head. They are headphones so the sub frequencies aren't totally there but can be heard (amazon says 14-26000Hz for frequency response, I'd take with a grain of salt, but not far off, I use these to produce music). The part that covers your ear is vented which can be good or bad depending on how you want to use them. They definitely bleed sound out the vents but that's by design. So, other people can hear you if you're playing music loudly. However, you can also hear background noise which can be good if people need to get your attention or for whatever reason you need to hear other things going on around you. I've had one pair for 8 years and they haven't broken, ear foam is soft and comfortable. Big downside might be that they have an audio jack designed for use with amps and stereos (wont fit aux jacks without adapter that comes with headphones). This is an issue if you want to use with your phone. The adapter works fine and fits into your phone like any aux adapter, but it's just clunky and sticks out at least an inch or two from your phone. Just annoying. But it's a great buy, you'll never need another pair of headphones unless you want something higher quality.
if you're into heavy melodic music there's a plethora of artists that fit into the niche "Future Riddim/Melodic Riddim":
TRNDS
ZIZI
DDD
KOH
Just Blue
DENNETT
She
Lunnari
BAW
beastboi.
Celo
Ace Aura
Syzy
Sora
Octane
Tryple
Oolacile
NUU$HI
Leotrix
High fidelity earplugs are like these! They're a special type of earbud that tries to preserve sound quality while decreasing decibel exposure.
I think you might be wrong about that... I feel like in-ear plugs (they make them specifically for bass music) would work way better.
The ones that came with the Lost Lands ticket are really tiny rubber buds that you stick deep in your ear, and they have a little pull tab to yank them out with. I almost got them stuck one time, took like 5 minutes to pull out hahaha.
Here are the current responses: Summary

Hey guys it's Josh. Hope you enjoy this mix I did for DVBBS. I'm not sure if they plan to give it away soon or not (hopefully) but if you didn't get the last mix I did for them, here's a free DL.

I work at BBuy so I just use my discount. Go get them somewhere else, I just knew they'd have it on the site.
>Don't call shit chillstep. It's a dumb name imo.
With all due respect, I will call it what every one else calls it. I am not the only one that uses the term. The term is no dumber than the term "brostep" and is actually more fitting of a name for the flavor it describes.
Raging in the front with the Alabama flag waiving proud. We were too spun to have the camera out much longer than taking this vid.
I believe the sample was from Prime Loops' "Urban and Dance Vocals" pack or a similar pack at least. It's been used in a lot of tracks since Prime Loops is a pretty big sample pack creator. The actual words are something along the lines of "bust dem sounds in a rudeboy ting."

Here is a mix I did a while ago! It mostly consists of Dubstep but there is some Drumstep, Drum n Bass, and Hybrid Trap in it as well. Hope you enjoy! I have a few other mixes with Dubstep in them you can check out on there if you should like as well!
Hey folks,
I do the Dubstep.co.uk podcasts and wanted to share the latest one with you. It's pretty broad, genre-wise, incorporating ambient, chill, future garage and shades of dubstep. Anyway, you might like it. Hope so. We try to focus on lesser-known artists.

Can anyone help?
good stuff. I'm actually all for digital setups... probably something to do with the fact that I'm a computer engineer. E.g. love the sweet ass new MIDI instruments they're making. I'm just hella pessimistic because I know a digi setup can be used to fake it so easily... not unlike auto-tune (except auto-tune is obvious).
End with one of my favorite vids as of late - live vocals/instrument/digi hybrid - Rusko 2009. Doesn't take a magnifying glass to see raw talent :)
What gives dubstep its dark sound is that it's written in minor keys. Im not sure if you know much about music but minor keys make music sad, or in the case of dubstep, dark, and in the case of metal, heavy. Major keys will make music sound happy.
If you want happy/feelgood stuff I recommend checking out beatport, ( http://www.beatport.com/genre/dubstep/18 ) its very tightly run so you'll only heard professional stuff and not all the amateur stuff you hear on youtube and sometimes soundcloud. Beatport will also tell you what keys songs are written in and their tempo. Check out all the songs in major keys and see if anything is to your liking. This is music being weird on you but for some reason F# minor is happier sounding key and B major can be a sad sounding key.
There is so a genre of music called liquid dubstep. The focus of this genre is more on melody and synths than on drops and bass like in dubstep. I love the genre and recommend looking into it.
Thanks. Actually it got released twice because of issues the first time around... http://www.beatport.com/track/let-go-with-you-tony-anthem-and-axl-ender-remix/3761078 and the second time they classified it as Dubstep. But I guess it doesn't matter either way. Thanks.
I'm not a huge fan of Rottun, and this song sounds exactly like all of the other songs that are released on there.
There is, however, one artist on Rottun that has some awesome fucking releases.
Dank n' Dirty Dubz is actually my friends label.
Soundcloud - They're giving away a free EP today! I just saw that. Enjoy.

there's his soundcloud but that song won't be on there. It's on the Manufactured Superstars album that just came out so he's not allowed to give it away for free =/

This would take you months to build from scratch. But here’s some links:
https://electronicmusic.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_Genres
I didn’t fact-check these, but it’s a start.
PS: if your music teacher can’t get into electronic music because of all the genres, you should get your money back.
Hey guys! This may not be the best song you have ever heard! However, it is my song! I am a new artist and this is my first song! let me know what you guys think!! Alien Adrenaline- Cryptonik!
Pretty much all the edm genres are privy to vocals, especially 'occasional' ones. I'd say the best luck you'll have is to find artists (who sing or rap) that have collaborated with producers like Omar Linx's Victor, a collab with Zeds Dead.
Reddit is currently the #122 site worldwide and #53 in the US (source: alexa). Why are people always shocked to find out that celebrities also use reddit? I don't think I know a single person who doesn't at least occasionally visit the site.

(this is a custom Fade To Grey i built with an EQ8 - awesome frequency response and echo). Midi-Map the Fade to Grey to a knob and have fun! This is probably one of my favorite FX.
I 'liked' superginger on Facebook and today he said he's tired of producing, and listed a bunch of music he's currently listening to. I wish more artists did that. His FB page
http://sacpartiesforum.com/ is a pretty good resource for dubstep / electronic stuff.
Also, I play dubstep and electro every Sunday in Davis. It's still a relavtively new thing and we're still trying to get the word out. Let me know if you want details.
my LEDs were super easy to install! just had to stick em onto the floor or the sides of the car right by the seatbelts, and mine are controlled by an app so i can change them to whatever color i want! i got them on amazon! edit: it plugs into the car charger/cigarette lighter thingy, so i also bought a splitter that has USB ports for my phone and whatever else i need to charge!
AKG K181DJ. Great headphones, if you're okay with on-ear style. Once you break them in they're pretty comfortable. Note: not good for mixing, as they have enhanced bass (mixing as in part of the production process; they're fine for DJing).
As some others have recommended, Sennheiser has some solid headphones too.
Heard it back in July :)
On a side note, if you like them then don't do things like this. Support the artists.
Hey. If you are looking for the best sound but want to spend $20.00 check these out. http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-202-Supra-Aural-Headphones/dp/B000065BP9/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1289056283&sr=8-1
Their made by Sennheiser. I have had these for almost 3 years now. Still works great and I have beaten them up (multiple bike wrecks, snowboarding, ect.)
The bass is ok and the highs are ok too. My favorite part about these is the mid frequencies. They sound really rich and it makes dubstep and electronica sound great.
Burial is great, I hated his stuff at first. I read a good interview he made and gave him another chance and now he's one of my favorites. If you like Burial, check out DJ /Rupture's Uproot. Very smooth, very chill, lots of space.
This has a really nice late 90's era DnB quality to it, and took me right back to AK1200 - Fully Automatic days, in a good way. A lot of time dub step strikes me as retracing its DnB heritage, and I could definitely go for more of this era.
