This is a genius idea. By remaking the older games, you make the older fans happy while the newer FE fans will be more interested as the older games would be more accessible and friendly to them. I see why they remade the second game first instead of jumping towards Genealogy or Blazing Blade/Binding Blade. They're obviously testing the waters before they're sure that they want to make a mini series out of this. This is why showing your support by buying this game is important.

This is an amazing development for the series. Fire Emblem was on her deathbed 6 years ago. Never thought she would be considered a major IP for Nintendo now.

2012 was actually much more fucked up than you have it listed right now. After being completely omitted from Nintendo's presentations entirely, including an entire 3DS specific one, Reggie offhandedly confirmed to a couple of journalists afterwards that Awakening was actually being localized, rather than being ignored entirely like New Mystery was. It seems like people have have forgotten over the past few years, but Nintendo of America's marketing for Awakening was just as inept and minimal as it was for the rest of the series up through the game's launch, where the physical version suffered from massive shortages for several weeks. NoA did nothing to help push the game until well after it became a massive sleeper hit through word of mouth alone.

According to the amazon japan listing for fire emblem echoes, the Alm and Celica Amiibo unlock a special dungeon.

It is unknown if they unlock 2 separate dungeons or if they unlock the same dungeon.

FE9 and 10 are extremely expensive. Like 299.99 kind of expensive.

Oh! I happen to own these books xD I've been meaning to translate some silliness from them.

They are from the "Trekking on the World of Fire Emblem" guide series, for FE (7) and (8) respectively (there's one for 6 too!) They're published by Square Enix guides. : ) The books have a lot of silly statistics in them that people don't usually think about and random trivia like this.

That FE8 pic is on page 115 of its book, and FE7 on page 108 on its own.

If I'm not mistaken, Blazing Blade only has Karla and Bartre, while Binding Blade has Bartre, Fir, and Karel.

Also, Binding Blade may have only been released in Japan but many (players such as myself) have purchased fan translated GBA cartridges rather than emulating. I use the nightmare module and the first random number generator I got in a Google search .

I listed the classes 1-31 for base classes including all monsters and the second tier trainees. I rolled the numbers for all unpromoted guys I wrote them. Put them under the character data. I then had manually removed their weapon levels and put in their new weapon levels based on their classes. If they were a monster class I made them able to use monster weapons. I also did this promoted classes but they're listed 1-34. I then went though the chapter unit data changing all to class it rolled them into and gave them according weaponry from previous data.

This actually quite bit of work. I wish someone could dissect the existed tools and applied to Sacred Stones but I know nothing about coding. Also these games have a lot differences.

multiple times in nohr lunatic i got chained by sub 20% attacks or chain missed 80%+ hits and died

rebecca missed three consecutive 80% hits though the third miss isn't for about 2 minutes after the highlight

my first unscripted fight in blazing sword on my most recent run lyn missed every attack vs the brigand she was attacking and got chained by 39% hits to death

rinkah levelup only gains magic and no other stats

silas regularly ends up at level 20 cav with like 12 speed and defenses that are about as bad so he's been unusable in all but one of my playthroughs, and the one time he was good it was hoshido so it basically didn't matter

my nohr lunatic run elise had 4 total levelups with no stat gains

really it's a wonder I can clear any FE game

Awakening did, without Awakening FE was on the chopping block as Captain Falcon has been in the past. Without the success of Awakening, Fire Emblem would have died. I forgot the article where I was reading this but Nintendo was going to discontinue Fire Emblem before Awakenings release and the FE team decided to give it their all to save it.

Mission accomplished, I salute the developers! I really hope they continue to improve the series as they have. Whatever they are doing, they are doing it right and it is selling more than previous titles.

Welcome to FE11 Merciless Low Tier, a Shadow Dragon playthrough featuring no warp, no mercy, and most importantly, no Good Units(tm).

In this run, I will be trying to use the worst units in FE11: Shadow Dragon to complete the game on it's hardest difficulty setting - H5, aka "Merciless." I will mostly prioritize units with good availability but low placement in tier lists, such as the subreddit's community tierlist. In an attempt to keep the lategame interesting, I will also be banning the most top-tier item in the game, the Warp staff. Lastly, considering that many low-tier characters are hidden in the Gaiden chapters, we will be mercilessly sacrificing Good Units(tm) as needed to get them.

Best girl Sara. Due to Thracia's limited dialogue, a lot of what we know of her has to be inferred by reading between the lines, and I don't think she gets enough recognition character-wise even if she is one of the best units in the game. Have a likely overly-thought-out character analysis by yours truly if you'd like to know more.

I'm also a big fan of Asaello. He's a hitman, looks like Brock from Pokemon, has a bit of an inferiority complex and has the best portrait in Jugdral because it faces the opposite direction than it's supposed to (This results in him not looking like he gives a shit about anything whenever his Thracia portrait is used in hacks and whatnot).

His special chapter 8 conversation also has him face regrets about what the war has forced him to become, and we don't really see any other character do that in fe4.

Robin: The Art of War-- Skill activation rate +10%. Passive skill effects increased by 20%.

Lucina: Forewarned-- When supporting a first-generation Shepherd, grants +10/+20 Hit/Avo.

Morgan: Fellblood-- When this unit attacks and defeats and enemy, they recover 15% of full health.

Chrom: Frontline Commander-- When supported by a lower-level unit +3/-3 damage dealt/taken, +10 Avo/Crit.

Lissa: Eternal Optimist-- Takes -5 damage when unable to counterattack.

Sumia: Clumsy-- +20 Avo when Spd is greater than enemy's.

Gregor: Give Sandvich to Medic-- When being healed by another unit, that unit gains the same amount of health. Both units +4 Def and Res for 1 turn.

Tiki: Divine Voice-- When this unit defeats an enemy, all allies within three tiles recover 10% health, gain +8 Luck.

Reinhardt is Overwatch's most-played hero in the Main Tank role. I'll be browsing my Reddit home page, or sifting through comments on multiple tabs, and get confused momentarily as to which game I'm reading about because apparently Fire Emblem has a Reinhardt too.

It took a while, but damn, was it worth it. Overall, it surpassed my expectations and improved the original story handily (not that it was too difficult to begin with). I wish it followed until the end of the revelation path, but considering how things went downhill from there in the original (quite literally), I'll give it a pass.

Now, I intended to do a second compilation post, but I discovered mangadex has uploaded all the chapters up to date, and considering how much better it is to read on a platform made for it, I'm leaving a link to it here.

As a feature, I don't mind it. I do hope it isn't used for fanservice much, since it could be a nice graphical touch if done well.

The western Touhou fanbase created a fangame that is heavily inspired by Fire Emblem, Story of a Lost Sky that you can download for free at that link.

Now that I think about it, I remembered another TBS game that's been in development for a long time called Battle for Wesnoth. I haven't played it for a good couple years but I recall it has single-player campaigns that play a lot like FE, and it also has multiplayer in it as well.

You're basically right, Humans and angels were at war, and the humans won, and they were led by this famous hero who now has a lot of influence over the populous. The royal family are protecting this half angel princess, while the hero is demanding she be delivered to him and uses his influence over the public to turn them against the royal family. One site I know of that a friend used is Rosetta Stone which has an extensive volume of lessons that will serve you well; though I think the personal contact of a classroom language study does you a lot of good, RS more than suffices for getting into it.

From what I've heard there are a few turns that can be cut from this run + you'd obviously save a bunch of turns if you decided to not go for full recruitment, but as far as I know no-one's managed to better this playthrough yet. You would be surprised how fast the maps go by when you've got mounted Rescue users (Raquesis/Leif) and four-way dancers.

This right here I find problematic. When a character such as Camilla is sexualised to such an absurd degree, a lot of men no longer find that attractive. But the common argument made against this is "yeah but she's conventionally attractive".

Vaike is in a similar position. A lot of women probably don't find him attractive, but you have to be seriously kidding me if you are trying to say that his design isn't an exaggeration of conventional attractiveness.

If anyone is curious, I wrote a character analysis for Tinny a few weeks ago and have the conversation screencapped from the Project Naga patch (I believe the one op used is Garnefs? Either way, I feel like BookOfHolsety translated it a bit better). Ignore how the ending of the analysis seems abrupt, I had pretty much talked about everything I wanted to and it was my first time doing this.

Anywho, Tinny is one of my favorite characters and develops a bit more than a lot of people do in FE4. It's a shame how many conversations are mutually exclusive, as that's where a lot of characterization comes from.

It's also, IMO, fairly necessary for Apotheosis/TSON (TSON applies to secret path only, correct?), unless you want to use some pretty crazy strategies very specific builds. Apotheosis doesn't scale on difficulty (well, technically it does, but just barely). IMO, Apotheosis is the post-game challenge Awakening offers.

Alternatively, you don't really mention the Future Past pack at all, Future Past is really the only good "story" DLC, and it does offer a nice challenge, I think. Not really disagreeing with your list, because in terms of utility your list is optimal, but Apotheosis and Future PAst would definitely be my next two purchases if I had any more (in this hypothetical scenario).

Well, it depends. Super Journeyman is pretty terrible, it's basically Berserker -4 Str +2 res (he even keeps the +15% inherent crit Berserkers get.) and like all super trainee classes no added con. If you want a super Journeyman go berserker.

Super Recruit (Amelia, if you don't have her yet you'll run into her) is pretty ok, it's basically a Female Swordmaster with more Res and it plays to Amelia's strengths nicely with some nice caps for her.

Super Pupil (Ewan) is pretty boss, basically a faster Sage with the ability to use all 3 types of magic and is honestly pretty great.

At this point, you might as well stop playing 3H and any other digital RPG and buy this instead and use it, but that’s just my opinion

Use a guide, playing through lunatic for the first time without a ~~god~~ guide is lunacy, i'd recommend this guide, it helped me through it, although bad rng can make you reset a few times.

Search the page for 'Merchant Codes' and 'Items'. Use the corresponding code to a slot of the storage which you haven't used yet (e.g. if you have 40 items in storage, use the slot 41 or above) and in the 'ZZ' part of the code, insert the item code or numerical value you wish for the corresponding area.

As for the system, I destroyed the heaven seal I received as a substitute for the Earth seal to promote Eliwood, and sacrificed 20,000 gold (same cost as in the chapter 32 secret shop) worth of ordinary promo items to use an Earth seal on Lowen.

As for promoting somebody who cannot promote, search for 'classes' and find the section which involves editing a character slot's stats. Activate a code with the class value, filled in the 'YYZZ' area with the corresponding code, then alter their stat values using the same codes to what they'd be with the promotion bonuses. The same for weapon ranks.

As others have pointed out, you need to use the "Clear File" from your first completed game.

However, getting the conversation with Soren is more complicated than that:

• Second playthrough or higher
• PoR data transfer with an Ike/Soren A Support
• Deploy BK on 1-endgame
• Ike challenge BK and both survive on 3-7
• Soren attack Micaiah on 3-7 (recommend Meteor from Calill or buy Blizzard from Aimee)
• Allow Pelleas to live third option
• Soren attack Pelleas on 3-endgame

Also, SNAG A METEOR IF YOU CAN. Seriously, I forgot to when I attempted to get this conversation, and it made the 3-7 unbelievably hard. Getting Soren to attack Micaiah without him or anyone else (besides Ike) being slaughtered by the Black Knight and other Daein troops was insane. Fun, but insane.

Caeda is ok, Palla is worse. Will drop Palla next run through- her stat growth, even after messing around a lot for optimal growth, isn't enough to remain on the team.

Maliesia (however you spell her name): NO. That IGN faqs told me to stick with her, but her growth has been atrocious for me (like seriously, her magic is 5, and she's level 12. WTF). I tried so hard, so many restarts for stat growth. She's bad, even holding the magic+ relevant stars. Ugh.

I've avoided Linde because the sole IGN faqs guide has said she's not that great. I don't care, I hate my Maliesia. I'm using Linde next time.

A huge amount of this argument relies on a very specific definition of 'scion' be different than 'descendant' that the dictionary doesn't really support, nor does the word scion in general--normally, scion is used in terms of lineage (e.g. Henry the VIII was a scion of the Tudors) as opposed to direct lineage (e.g. Henry the VIII was a scion of Henry VII).

That would actually be legit. MU is the only gun in the game, gifted to the lord as part of a demon's cursed legacy, so that the player's faction can wreak havoc upon the world. Later on, it is revealed that you are using the war to plant the seeds of destruction in the minds of the families of your victims, which turn into more guns. The story would have a strong anti-war message, like Middens.

Next time you copy an image, try turning the official art upside down and drawing it that way. When you turn an image upside down (you draw it that way as well, don't try to draw it rightside-up), you get less caught up in what you image should look like (an eye looks like this, hair looks like this) and focus more on what is actually there (lines). Once your brain isn't like, OMG LOOK AT ALL THESE THINGS I KNOW, you can focus in on what really matters, the relationships between the lines and how they come together to create forms.

As goodzillo said, you can use the saves from gamefaqs. They are usually in gameshark .sgm files or something. You can load them into vba by file->import->gameshark snapshot. After that just do something that involves saving the game (or take a save state I guess) and you can now use the regular .sav file!

If you plan on playing postgame, I would start over with a new file. You basically lost 3 really good units, Sully, her future kid, and Donnel who is one of the best fathers in the game. You probably have no idea what I'm talking about(that's fine), but later on you'll realize that you screwed yourself pretty badly. Hard/Casual is a good option if you don't want to reset too many times.

With that said, the beginning of hard classic was challenging for me as well, and I consider myself a FE vet. It's ok to only use units you're comfortable because more will come later on. For pair ups, I recommend pairing only if

1)travel- pair a knight to a flier and you can hop over terrain

2)tanking - pair 2 strong units together to fight at a chokepoint

3)babying/feeding kills- if pairing lissa to mirael means mireal getting a ORKO, go for it.

4)avatar- abuse the veteran ability, by chapter 5 your avatar can be on par or even better than frederick with lots of room to grow.

otherwise you're right about pairing leaving you with less "usable" units, so pair sparingly. If you're interested, this guide gives great information such as reinforcement points for specific chapters. I find the guide a necessary evil if I don't want to lose units on Classic.

Japanese does not follow super-rigid rules for converting loan words from foreign languages. People who don't know Japanese always seem to think that this is the case.

I'd just like to point out that I saved her name from being Millety, which was the alternative that gringe was considering and looks like a word that would describe the consistency of grain.

the Randomizer will output a text file, which you use with Event Assembler (A google search should turn that up easy enough) to modify your ROM, This is permanent, so make a back up!

If you get an error during Assembly, then try again with a different text file.

after that, just make a new game in Eliwood or Hector mode (the randomizer won't work for lyn mode) and enjoy!

It's Python. Paste it here and it'll generate all true hits from displayed hits of 0-100.

All it does is count the pairs of numbers which will result in the attack hitting. Fortunately computers are fast at this sort of thing.

Seriously though, if you want to make a project or more changes, look into buildfiles.

There are a lot of steps you can take to wean yourself off social media, or at least parts of it. I recommend Forest as a temporary site blacklisting tool. The phone version is a bit more extreme, so it's useful when you want to get work done, but for mobile I have had more luck with just deleting apps. I'd also recommend having your desktop bookmarks link either to specific subreddits or even to your own inbox or profile page. Just creates one more buffer between that habitual click and the rabbit hole.

A few notes:

I used XMind to build this. There’s some natural limitations to the software, hence some less than ideal layout choices.

Most of the timeline is based on the story as described in the various wikis. The inclusion of Cindered Shadows was based mostly on this theory by u/Ferronier of it’s canonical timing.

Because of the obviously daunting number of supporting characters (not to mention all of their possible outcomes), I didn’t call out any singular characters that didn’t feel material to the general narrative.

There’s probably mistakes in here. Go easy on me.
