I don't recall the name I used it a while back, give me a sec.
Edit: looks like it was called myBoy but now that retroarch is out I'd look into that because open source and free and stuff.
The best GBA emulator imo is the paid version of My Boy https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gba Performance wise the free version is the exact same, just without couple of extra features...
I only know of MyBoy for GBA and OldBoy for GB(C)

I use the My Boy! Gameboy Advanced emulator and it works flawlessly. There is a free and paid version and the free one works great. My bluetooth controller worked with it no problems.
There's a ton of excellent emulators available for Android, and a great resource is /r/EmulationOnAndroid
My Boy! is where it's at. Cheats work in the full version, as do savestates.
Other than the ones you've tried, you could check out the VBA-M / VBA NEXT cores of RetroArch, but I have no idea if those support cheats.
My Boy! - GBA Emulator
Been using this one for years now and have the paid version, not so much for the added features but to support this great app.
Here's the link for it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gba
Use it on a rom (any pokemon rom from GB-DS) to switch trade evolutions to lvl ones and other cool hacks if you want.
OR Im using a GBA emulator for Android that allows wifi/Bluetooth trades, or trades w/ another save file on the same device.
Pro Tip! There is a free version of this emulator that doesn't allow loading a save state.. however link still works for trading... You could use a different GBA emulator thats free, but then save the actual game to the rom... then open it with the Link one only when you want to trade, if you can't spare the $5.
the GBA emulator myboy (and possibly the gb emulator oldboy) can do wifi link!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gba
It's pretty damn good for casual gaming, yesterday I had My Boy! (GBA emulator) running all day, in the foreground for 80% of the time on my Moto Z play and still managed a hardy 10+ hrs of SOT with 15% battery left.
You might want to get My Boy Pro a Game Boy Advance Emulator. It runs most games if just search game boy advance roms you'll find a lot of old GBA games. BTW $5.00 usd
I've used this in the past and never had issues.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gba
Edit: this one looks a bit newer https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=vba.gba.emulator.gameboyadvance.visualboyadvance.free
I use this one. It has a lot of settings and it even works for multiplayer. It has a free version but I paid for both GBC and GBA emulators from this developer. I even asked him something by email once and he answered right away.

Actually, patching can be done on an Android phone, and very easily. MyBoy! GBA Emulator comes with a built-in IPS/UPS patching system that allows both soft and hard patching.
iDevices, however, I believe are SOL.
If you're on Android, get MyBoy (free version here). Play Pokemon (through your legally ripped ROMs you made yourself, of course). MyBoy lets you link-cable between different games and if your friends have MyBoy, you can link-cable with them over Wifi or bluetooth! It's magic! It's great for long car trips, waiting in waiting rooms or playing while on the toilet!
I don't know a damn thing about retroarch, but I do know that the myboy! emulator has gyro.
Idk if there's a core for RA or not, but maybe a different gba core will work better than mgba? Or a stand alone option.
this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gba&hl=en_IN , this is paid app. Googling the app name might give u some discount
I think so but they're not too expensive to buy anyway.
Edit: Not free, the GB one is free: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gba&hl=en_US
There's several GBA emulators on the Play Store. Here's a couple:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gba
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.johnemulators.johngbalite
As for malware, just stay away from anything that appears to be too good to be true and stick to the Play store.
My Boy! is a great emulator for GBA games, I used it to play a nuzlocke version of Pokemon Emerald not too long ago.
But since we're on the subject of Pokemon, I have to mention PokeMMO for it's Android app alone. In my opinion it's the best way to play Pokemon (especially on the go) and if what you are wanting is the pokemon experience than you will find no better way to scratch that itch.
If you are comfortable, you can use your phone and emulate it.
Recently, Nintendo Switch Pro Controllers became fully compatible with the Android OS.
Check out the MyBoy app on the Play Store. Finding a ROM of Fusion shouldn't be too difficult, but that's not something we can share on Reddit.
I use the MyBoy gameboy emulator on my Android phone. Allows me to trade Pokemon with myself to evolution and raising a Pokemon quickly. If I was in college back when mobiles were rare and I was stuck with these calculators I’d stalk you till I got the steps to do this.
MyBoy! lets you rearrange and adjust size of controls. There aren't custom "skins" as far as I know though.
> • A very powerful screen layout editor, with which you can define the position and size for each of the on-screen controls, as well as for the game video.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gba&hl=en_US
I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you, but while you wait you can always load up some Pokémon on the fast, reliable MyBoy GBA
I've always found the beginning of Pokémon to be the most fun, so maybe it can curb your appetite for a little while. Actually, any GBA game can be a nice break until more Android games roll out.
Edit: Free Version MyBoy GBA
My Boy! on the Google Play store lets you connect via Wifi or bluetooth with another device that has My Boy installed.
Its easily possible on android.
Get this emulator (its the best, it even has local and bluetooth multiplayer. And yes, it's really worth the money)
And this is a free rom patcher:
I tested it on my Android Phone and it worked perfectly.
This one looks like it would do what you need. 1 device acts as the host and clients can connect to it for multplayer games. I haven't used a GBA emulator on the phone so I can't recommend it, but it should do what you need.
There's actually a few. I found that My Boy! tended to be the best though. The touch screen buttons are kinda tricky for some of the faster paced games, but for things that primarily require the d-pad and action buttons as the main controls work quite well, which is why LoZ: ALttP works quite well. Haven't seen any SNES emulators though.
-update- A quick google revealed there are quite a few SNES emulators too
There exists a modified version of the VBA which can link up people over the internet, but to do that you need to use Hamachi and enter a network with peeps who want to play. Although it's really slow and not really usable unless you have fiber connection.
There's a really good GBA Emulator for Android though, that can be connected locally through bluetooth or Wifi, but I didnt try out the Wifi part yet... The bluetooth part can run really smoothly though, I could play an BN game without framedrops with my friends!
No worries. My Boy has you covered. Ex-girlfriends not included
My boy! is the best emulator for Android.
Here’s my copy-pasta for questions like this. I don’t use most of these anymore, but I’ve used them all at some point or another:
My Rundown:
Default Profiles:
Location/Time/Calendar Based Profiles (my favorite use-case for Tasker):
Specific App Profiles:
AutoInput & One Off Tasks (paired with Nova Gestures/Shortcuts):
Of course these are all over-simplifications of how my profiles actually work. Some of them I don't have enabled anymore. Setting it all up has been no easy task. I've had my fair share of head scratching moments, and battery killing profiles. It takes time, patience, and the willingness to troubleshoot and refine it to your liking. Sometimes, you have to weigh whether or not a profile/task is worth it, resource and battery-wise. Just take it one profile at a time, read the documentation, and ask around. You'll learn!
On an android phone? Everything through and including Dreamcast currently. There's even a Dolphin alpha that's in the works for GC and Wii, and Play!, an alpha PS2 emulator in the works.
On your specific phone? Everything through and including PS1, and some less demanding N64 titles.
Everything below PS1 will be fine, no issues.
For GBA I recommend My Boy!, it's a great emulator, and there's a great shader pack available for it (official pack on Google Play or you can download an update pack I compiled from the creator's source with three more shaders included here. There's also a free version of My Boy! if you don't care about savestates (only in-game saves on the free version).
For PSX though, you won't be able to play full speed with filters/shaders. ePSXe on hardware renderer is your best bet.
PSP will be hit or miss. More misses than hits, and the only ones that might play will be primarily 2D, or 2D/3D hybrids (Star Ocean 2 is the least demanding I've tried, only one that works on my phone with similar specs). Grab a nightly build of PPSSPP from Orphis Buildbot.
NDS will work fine with DraStic, so long as you set frameskip to auto and 3. (note: go to http://drastic-ds.com and join the google beta to ensure you get the latest version)
For the gamepad, I recommend the iPega PG-9023, but preference varies.
Here's some controller reviews from the EmulationOnAndroid wiki. I'm sure others can chime in with their preference as well.

You'll probably want to look into MyBoy! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gba
Emulation
GBA
DS
Games
Not a very long list, emulation is far better than most games on the store
World of Tanks - Online game about tanks, of course. Requires time and effort to level up to better tanks.
Asphalt 8 - Racing game, you may get bored of it after a while. Usually best to play every now and again.
Hill Climb Racing - I've had this in pretty much all of my devices with the same save data, really good game to keep coming back to back to.
Geometry Dash - This game is either something you'll enjoy or just hate, it's one of those 'impossible jump games'. Another game that is best to be played every now and again.
Hearthstone - The mobile version of the Online PC card game, uses the same account so you have the same cards.
Other Apps
I'm gonna add this here, there are plenty of interesting/useful apps on the store.
ISS Detector - Tells you the direction and precise time of the International Space Station passing over, even if you're not that interested in space, it's really cool to see the ISS passing.
FlightRadar24 point your phone at a plane and it will tell you about it and where it is going (Only possible in the paid version, free version will only show where planes are)
Sync For Reddit - In my opinion, this is the best app for reddit, though this is up to your preferences
Google Keep - Best app for noting down things and making lists.
iScream - Your phone will scream when it falls. Have a laugh before you see the damage the floor has done to your device.
IIRC the S6 has an IR Blaster, you can get a universal remote control app and use your phone as a remote control.

I like My Boy!
I think it may be a paid feature but myboy! Gba emulutor can do it https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gba
Then I'd recommend a Sony PSP. Preferably the 3000 or Go models (though a 2000 works fine, it just has less vibrant colors; avoid the 1000 and the European-only E1000 Street since they have less hardware capabilities). Just hack the PSP with ProCFW using this guide (you'll need a valid memory card) and then it can run a bunch of different emulators; it does GB/GBC/GBA especially well. You can get the emulators I use here, and put them in your memory card at ?:\PSP\GAME
(where ?
is your PSP's drive letter after connecting it to your computer with a miniUSB cable like the old flip phones, not microUSB or USB type C like a smartphone). Homer's RIN is for GB/GBC games and has cleaner scaling than anything else, but has compatibility probs with a few games. EmuMaster (which plays GB/GBC and also Sega GameGear/MasterSystem) will handle some of the ones that RIN can't, but has ugly bilinear scaling. TempGBA is just the best GBA emulator you can get for the system and nothing else compares (it'll even play the Golden Sun games, with very slight frameskip in the overworld). You'll have to find/dump your own roms, though.
Also, you can get a microSD to MS Pro Duo adapter for cheap instead of paying up the arse for an official memory card (Warning: Doesn't work with the Go since it takes a Memory Stick Micro (M2) instead). Make sure your microSD cards aren't too high of a capacity, though; a PSP only officially supports up to 32GB total (that is, 2x16GB in the adapter I linked; these should work perfectly), and my friend got his working with 2x32GB Class-10 SanDisk cards, but I hear certain brands won't work at that capacity and we haven't found anything above those 2x32GB cards that work at all (they are seen as 'damaged' and unable to be formatted in the PSP). Not that you'll need that much space for GB/GBC/GBA games anyway... :P
On the other hand, most cheap smartphones nowadays can run the My Boy! and My OldBoy! emulators just fine, even for 'problem' games like Golden Sun, so getting a cheap tracfone and a decent bluetooth controller might be an even better idea than going for an aging PSP, and still cheaper than most of those clone consoles. Of course, that comes with Android's audio latency problems, and you won't be able to use save states in those emulators unless you get the paid versions (which are $4.99 and $3.99, respectively) but I think it'd still be better than getting any of the clone systems you mention, especially since Android emulators are so easily updated. Note that there are also other free GB/GBC/GBA emulators for Android, I just know from personal experience that the MyBoy ones work well...
I use a Google play app called My Boy that works pretty nicely
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gba
Sure, these are the ones I use:
GBA - My Boy!
SNES - Snes9x EX+
PSP - PPSSPP
PlayStation - ePSXe
I don't currently have these, but these are well recommended also:
NDS - DraStic
GB/GBC - My OldBoy!
My picks (in no particular order)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gba (there's a free version too). And download the game file from somewhere
On Android, I recommend the app "My Boy!"
Although, there are free alternatives.
My Boy! is my go to.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gba
Personally prefer Myboy GBA, easy to use and never had any issues with it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gba
Emulating on Android is pretty easy and runs really well on modern phones. For Gameboy Advance games, you're going want to download MyBoy. MyBoy is super intuitive to use and customizable to boot. It also has a free version available. I personally like playing in landscape due to my phone being a bit small to maneuver my fingers around in portrait. For DS games, you're going to have to pay however. Drastic is the go-to for playing DS games on mobile, but is only paid. If you need a free option, NDS4Droid will get the job done, bit it's a little shit and prone to crashing. While we're recommending emulators, PPSSPP is a phenomenal psp emulator, with the best and most intuitive UI of any emulator I've ever used. It's also entirely free, and runs basically perfect on recent Android phones for all but the most intense games (Which, given the psp's library aren't very common).
Getting games, or ROMs as the file type is called, is a little trickier. Unfortunately Nintendo are a bunch of right cunts and are very aggressive about stomping out rom sharing of their games. I do have a some of these games on my computer and could upload them to a Google drive for you. Uncoincidentally, all these emulators also have Google drive integration, so you'd be able to download the ROMs without needing a computer. Alternatively, any public computer is adequate for downloading ROMs, since you just need to download through a web browser and then use your phones cable to transfer it.
Sony aren't as concerned about psp ROMs though. You can find those very easily through websites like Coolroms. You can download right from your phone this way too.
You should also call nearby pawn shops and gamestores and give them a description of your console. It's DS version, color, and the fact that it has a copy of Pokemon Ruby with it should be enough to get them to hold it for you. Most pawn shops and all GameStops have a policy against selling stolen goods, and if you can confirm it's yours by telling them what the name on the save file is, they'll give it right back to you at no charge. You should also consider filing a police report.
Based on my opinion after trying multiple emus
GBA - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gba
NDS- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dsemu.drastic
PSP- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.ppsspp.ppsspp
PS1 - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.epsxe.ePSXe
Although I tested this on the S7 not the S8. I assume S8>S7
i think it was My Boy! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gba&hl=en
Here's my copy pasta for whenever I get asked this question:
My Rundown:

I use the IPEGA PG-9055 (~$30), which holds the phone for me!
I really enjoy the design of this one, because it'll hold my phone in either landscape or portrait (great for DS emulation)! Not to mention the center of gravity is more like that of a Gamboy (most other BT controllers hold the phone up above, which I imagine contributes to wrist fatigue). Battery seems to last a while, I haven't had it die on me yet.
My biggest qualm with it is that it uses BT v3.0, and won't auto-connect. With the controller on, and my phone's BT on, I still have to dig into my phone's BT settings and select this device for them to connect.
You can read /u/Mountainmohawk's (photo cred to him, btw) or /u/billyalt's more in-depth reviews for more info:
I've only used it for a total of 4 hours, so I don't know about longevity. The spring-loaded-telescoping middle part seems like a likely point of failure, but depending on how long it lasts, I'd say it's worth it.
I finally beat Minish Cap last night, and started on Phantom Hourglass. Phantom Hourglass, as well as Professor Layton, are a lot more touch/stylus dependent than I'd like, I may not even want to use my controller while playing them. Instead, I'll opt for one of those phone stylus "pens".
All in all, I rate 9/10, would recommend emulating with a BT phone-holding controller, especially GBA games using My Boy!. You just can't beat the quality and amount of games available.
My Boy! would be my recommendation if you've got an android device easily worth the small price for the paid version.
For GBA: ~~https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gba&hl=en~~ or the free version here
For GBC: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gbcfree&hl=en
You can find ROMs in a bunch of places pretty easily

I assume you mean this one?
I'll give it a shot, thanks!
Assuming you have android support. My Boy! is a good one.
If you don't have android support let me know.
For GBA,I use my boy. It has a free version so you can try it out . I like it very much and haven't had problems to this day with it, it runs every game I've tried ;)
For DS,I use draStic . Also a very good emulator.
And for SNES, John SNES. It also has a lite version.
Because I personally don't use a lot of snes games, I can't confirm John snes the best emulator for snes, but I play a lot of nds and gba and they all run very nicely on those 2 I linked.
I've heard the Revo K101 has problems with certain games, and for the price it's probably better to buy a used Sony PSP and a cheap microSD to MS Pro Duo adapter, then soft-hack it with ProCFW and take advantage of the TempGBA4PSP emulator's awesome game compatibility (yes, TempGBA does also have problems with a select few games, but it's probably about as compatible as the K101 anyway and a used PSP is far cheaper)...
Edit: Also, most cheap smartphones nowadays can run the My Boy! emulator just fine, even for 'problem' games like Golden Sun, so getting a cheap tracfone and a decent bluetooth controller might be an even better idea than going for an aging PSP, at only half the price of a K101...
No idea sorry haha, but here's the Play Store link if you wanna check it out https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gba

You can emulate the Fire Emblem games from Game Boy and they run rather well. I played the GBA one using My Boy, which is available as paid or a free version with ads, and it played fine.
If you want a game that has a similar combat, you might like Age of Strategy or Age of Fantasy which might remind you of Advance Wars.
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap. Not an Android game perse. I've been using My Boy! and a BT controller (I have this IPEGA). On screen controlls aren't bad either, at least for this game.
Clash Royale is a solid game, despite not being able to achieve top ranks without IAPs.
The Kingdom Rush series of games also solid. No Wi-Fi or IAPs necessary. Don't forget to use Titanium backup to transfer saves from device to device though.
I play gameboy advance
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gba&hl=en
Would you recommend it over Mah Boi? That's what I'm currently using.
What are you trying to emulate?
For GBA, I like My Boy!.
For SNES, Super Legacy 16 has been working great for me, Snes9x EX+ is another fine choice.
For PS1, Fpse has worked well for me, but I can't say that I've really worked it too much. I played through FFIX without any trouble, though.
My Boy! is the best one out there
